If it ends up being really popular it's likely there'll be a sequel with more original killers.

They have another chance to finally give us Ada Wong
The leaks already confirmed Ada and Rebecca as survivors.
-
I don't see it being that useful unless you're using Haunted Grounds maybe. Most killers can't really defend totems so it all depends on the survivors anyhow.
-
I don't find it that big of a problem to play against, I mean if I wasn't holding m1 to mend I'd just be holding m1 on a gen.
That said since I know many survivors hate it so much I always bring the addon that makes Mend take a few seconds longer when I play Legion >:3
-
It mainly just exists for people doing their archives, otherwise you should literally never use it. It's not even worth using outside of that because it's still no guarentee you'll get the hatch, and even if you do, if you were deadweight for your team you'll still get hardly any BP.
-
It's true that when it comes to facecamping, survivors reward it much more often than punish it. At the very least you'll usually have a survivor or two standing closeish to the hook emoting at you for a while before eventually running off to do gens, wasting loads of time.
-
I'd rather they add FNAF than anime.
-
If it means DS and BT no longer work that seems fair.
-
If all survivors started running DS it would be nerfed so go right ahead xD
-
I just hate Coldwind in general. It's so bright I struggle to see red auras and I suffer greatly from cornvision.
-
Many killers camp/tunnel because it's usually the best way of getting kills. Tunnelling especially is pretty much always the most efficient way to play if you're just playing to win. Camping is more situational but sometimes is also the best thing to do, especially at endgame where it is almost always the best thing to do.
Sure some people wanna just play facecamping Bubba for the memes or because they got stomped a few times but I'd wager like 80%+ of the time the killer camps and tunnels it's just because that's how you win the game.
Inb4 "well I'm a rank 1 killer and I have never camped or tunnelled ever in my life just get gud". Sure Jan.
-
It's almost certainly a legal issue. Contests usually have very strict rules in most countries, especially depending on what the prizes are. I'm sure if BHVR could allow anyone to enter without any hassle they would.
Also I like your Yui skin :)
-
Amanda's Letter, even with it's recentish buff is still a bad addon. Myers' mirrors can be decent on certain maps but on most maps are also just bad.

Gay Deathslinger yes.

So you’re ok with a status effect having zero potential value for an entire trial? Ok. I’m not even proposing anything crazy my man.
When do you ever enter a trial with 4 survivors not running exhaustion perks? Most people run them so this really ain't an issue.
Heck if you somehow find a game without any of them you should be thankful.
-
The new Hemo does make Resurgance weaker but let's be honest, who even uses Pinhead's Scourge Hook? It's the weakest scourge hook by a mile even with the buff to Hemo.
Most killer addons that inflict Hemo aren't used much because there's almost always much stronger addons.
Sloppy is the only widely-used source of Hemo and even that isn't -that- popular thesedays, you'll face more killers without it than with it.
Plus as has been said, if you're healed under the hook Hemo doesn't even matter.
I'll admit it's an unintentional nerf to an average-tier perk that didn't need it, but you can still run it and get use out of it most games, it's hardly been killed by the Hemo change.
I do think reworking it into a Hemo counter though is a nifty idea. A decent buff but you still wont see it all -that- much.
Solidarity though was garbage before and is still garbage now :p

And then you wonder why everyone use borrowed time, dead hard, desicive strike and unbreakable. Tunneling is actually bad tactics if others just do gens and are free from pressure. Tunneling is only really viable if you do it fast and others don't work on gens and come to help. Personally I don't tunnel but I can hook sometimes someone twice in a row but im not that cruel to kill them immediatelly after that thought. Better stragedy is to tunnel 2 survivors same time but it's harder to pull off.
Eh it depends. Most of the time as long as the survivor isn't a god looper, it's better to tunnel than to spread hooks, even if you know they have BT and DS, that's just how strong turning a 4v1 into a 3v1 is.
The only time tunnelling is the wrong thing to do is if the team unhook at the last possible moment, effeciently do gens -and- the person you're tunnelling is a strong looper, but all those things lining up isn't that common.
-
Boon snuffing is already really fast, why would they make a perk make it faster?

They should have been doing gens and leaving you with a 1k.
The problem is that if someone gets downed early in the match and facecamped you can't finish gens before they're dead and the killer downs and hook their second victim.
Facecamping Bubbas average 2+ kills per game.
-
Tunelling is pretty much always the most efficient thing for a killer to do. Even with BT and DS existing, it's -still- the best of way of gaining control of the match and always will be until they redesign the hook-stage system.
When hooking 1 survivor 3 times is stronger than spreading out 8 hooks, why would you -not- tunnel?
They either need to completely change how hook-states work, or make hook-states give a stacking debuff to a survivor's gen-speed.

Im very curious on the opinion of Sloppy butcher. I was playing survivor today (i didnt play the PTB) and I found it to be pretty extreme on the degrading of my healing progress. I used a med kit to around 90% before the kit was used up and it like zapped all the progress to zero in literally 5 seconds or less.. i stood there like well holy !#$#! that was pointless as my friend was approaching to finish the heal lol.
Now ok i do know that its effective if a healing boon and bunch of people around healing its effective and in a swf but I think going away so fast with 1 perk on is kinda crazy. I wouldn't mind if it was probably 10% instead of its current 20% increase but damn like it just zapped it away like nothing. Well thats just my opinion it might be the balance issue of the healing boon and stuff to have it this drastic but it really feels like some arms race between survivors and killers going out of control .
I mean that situation is literally what the new hemorrhage is built to counter, partially healing. If it didn't quickly get rid of all your heal progress it'd be back to being useless.
Even now I'd still say Hemo is still very situational and one of the weaker debuffs, but it actually does something now at least.

They're saying Yui is probably LGBT because of stereotypes. Pretty yikes.

I've been having awful lag spikes for the last few days. First couple days of the patch were fine, but around monday or so I was suddenly hit with huge lag spikes almost every game, survivor or killer. Basically whenever I found a survivor, or the killer found me, or the killer used their power, or a gen was completed, or a skill check popped up, or a pallet is kicked, I'd freeze for anywhere from a second to like 5 seconds. Once I actually DCed from the game because I froze for so long.
Now I know DBD can be a little laggy and even at the best of times a slight bit of stuttering, especially during the first game or two of the day can happen, but this is something else.
On PC by the way.
-
It's pretty rare when someone does this to me but it's -really- annoying. Had someone who literally just used his flashlight macro for the entire game, had no intention of actually it properly, only brought a flashlight so he could make that noise the entire time.
-
The game is balanced around killers eventually ending chases successfully. Survivors are mainly trying to waste time, not actually escape, though they still can sometimes.
Even with the "crazy" movement speed they currently have, many killers, especially m1 killers still struggle in chase, they really don't need to be universally nerfed.
-
A 30 second Corrupt basekit would be nice. Just so that suvivors couldn't literally spawn on top of gens and start them.
Basekit BT is probably only gonna be like 3 - 5 seconds anyhow, would be insane if they added the full 12 seconds basekit.
-
It sucks but a DC is a DC. Doesn't matter if it's a manual DC or an actual loss of internet, you still ruined the game for the other players by DCing and are thus punished for it.
-
A perk based around letting yourself wiggle free without the help of other survivors should NEVER even be a thing in this game. The game just isn't made around something like that. Just think, if Boil Over resulted in even just a quarter of pickups ending up in the survivors wiggling out, EVERYONE would be running it and killer would be miserable.
It's still a good deal stronger than it used to be. buuuuut it's pretty much a useless perk thesedays. I certainly don't mind, as killer it's hella annoying even now.

You're not worth my time.
@Mooks is, because he's a good guy and actually discusses things respectfully even if it's a disagreement.
Okay but by the definition of a retcon it wasn't one. A retcon would imply he was confirmed straight and then suddenly the devs said "Nope he's gay now." It was never confirmed what his sexuality was and now it's been 'revealed' that he's gay.

I use the word "woke".
I'm gay. I was surprised they ret-conned David, but now that I see his new cosmetic, I'm totally on board (I'm shallow that way) and currently leveling him lol. In the end, I'm actually glad they chose him because he doesn't look like a mish-mash of gay stereotypes.
I think of the term "woke" not as people who are liberal and progressive (which is usually good). It refers to extreme neo-liberalism over classic liberalism.
In this context, it would be accusing everyone who isn't ecstatic about this change as carte blanche hating gay people when in fact, they probably don't. I've seen people who would have had no problem with a new character being gay, just didn't like changing an existing one, yet they are still accused of homophobia which is not cool. Not everyone with criticism (so long as it is non-destructive) is auto-homophobic.
"Woke" refers to the type of people who claim to be "right side of history" when they have a tendency to weaponize the progressive stack against those they believe to be lower on it than they are. Just muh opinion.
They didnt retcon David. He was never confirmed straight. Please learn what words mean.
-
It's not an issue that Legion is too strong, they aren't, they're still one of the weaker killers in the game.
The problem is mending again and again and again and again isn't fun.
-
It's not upto players to 'discourage' Bubbas from facecamping, it's upto BHVR to finally fix things so a Bubba can't completely negate unhooking by simply standing still next to a hook.
-
Twins are too slow to -not- slug to some extent. After you get a down as Victor you have to wait ages to switch, wait for Charlotte to wake up and then you've gotta walk over to wherever the down was. Meanwhile the survivors are doing gens or god forbid actually picking up the downed survivor before you can even get there.
-
@Tiufal said:
Its quite fascinating while being completely hilarious, that killer players still have that common misconception, that they "outplayed" a survivor, who used his DH to get to a loop. You didnt. Not even a bit.
The problem is that most killers don't have a way to outplay survivors DHing at a loop. Yes if they're not gonna reach the pallet but then do with DH, they planned that, but the issue is a killer can't do anything about it.
-
Well yeah if you get a 4k at 5 gens you're gonna have bad medals. Which is fair because if that happened it wasn't a good match.
-
Nerfing the healing -does- make the perk weaker though. Taken to it's extreme, if self-healing in CoH took five minutes then no one would run it, so at some point nerfing the healing time does balance it.
-
@Zozzy said:
So instead of making a new character they just dumpstered an existing one that people may have their own ideas about.... cool.
It's fine i guess. exceptionally lazy and will annoy people.
So revealing a character is gay is 'dumpstering' them, okay. Try to be a little more subtle wit your homophobia next time.
Also I thought people didn't like it when characters were revealed as gay too quickly since it's inorganic and 'shoving it down our throats'. David and Soldier 76 were both revealed in a good, fair way. People complaining are simply unhappy about having comfirmed LGBT+ characters in their 'safe space'.
-
It is something that definitely actually happens, albeit very rarely for most people. I simply just can't understand people who just tunnel poc characters in a video game, just be a normal person and tunnel the booner.

You obviously dont know how SB would be used. We will gonns see the same outcry as now with DH when those killer realize how much of a struggle a 99ed SB is.
People always say this when people complain about Dead Hard but answer me this: If Sprint Burst was so strong, why do far, FAR more people just run Dead Hard?
-
Against a SWF with those sorta builds on RPD there's not really anything you can do. Slugging is the answer against Boil Over/Breakout/Sabo plays in library but with Exponential/Soul Guard you can't slug. You can try to keep boons snuffed but there's -two- Expo booners so there will always be one rebooning.
You'd really have to be a good Nurse or Blight and down people before they have time to setup boons, and even then I dunno.
-
I do think Iron Will is a little problematic, being able to completely nulify one of the major tracking tools a killer has with one passive perk.
What's even weirder is there was a perk that countered it, a perk barely anyone even used, and they STILL nerfed it :/
-
@cburton311 said:

Exactly the point. If survivor perks are nerfed further, it doesn't change the fact that the killers can still easily 3k or 4k for most of the spectrum of MMR by playing "dirty". The face camping someone to death as a strategy needs to die. It is fun for no one in a match, it is just highly effective and so gets overused. Tunnelling someone out 30 seconds into a match is also poor form, even if it was a survivor missplay and the victim was farmed. Do you think the guy that got deleted had fun?
These streaks people sight as important data only exist at the extremes of killer or survivor skill, and I'd wager represent less than 0.01% of the playerbase. That small percentage of people do not keep the lights on at behavior. Removing tools for either side for fun engaging chases, is NOT an answer.
Finally, dead hard is not a problem, I'm a midling killer at best( i play doctor and billy fyi) and you know what I do, I wait an extra 2 seconds in chase to bait out the dead hard and then down them. This is not rocket science and really, if a survivor BEATS me with a dead hard play, good for them. They used skill and did something cool. Because just pressing 'e' does not equal win. Maybe, the only nerf I could see be applied would be preventing its use to jump over a trap. Maybe.
If the survivor is in the middle of nowhere then yes it's easy to bait the Dead Hard and that is a situation where DH is not in anyway a problem. The problem is when they use it to get to a window or pallet they otherwise wouldn't have been able to, and in that scenario there is no way to bait it.
-
It's weird because she's pretty widely considered a very strong killer, but you just never see her. I play her a little bit but not very often, as others have said she's sorta just... meh, not very fun.
I don't know what it is specifically, I mean yeah she makes survivors just shift+W but there are other killers that promote that gameplay too who are played more.
-
If I hear Nurse blinking and a teammate going down in 5 seconds, I wont DC but I'm probably gonna kill myself on hook. Why bother playing a lost game?
And yes, a good nurse against a solo team is a lost game.
-
BHVR has outright said they have to keep certain killer perks weak because otherwise they'd be OP on Nurse. It's clear she's unhealthy for the game because the devs have to tiptoe around her.
-
I mean against a good Nurse there's literally nothing you can do so why bother? You might be able to get one or two gens done but there's zero chance of winning in solo queue.
-
While it is a buff, Hemorrhage is still gonna be the weakest status effect. Outside of 99ing a heal for Resilience, this doesnt really do a lot of anything and wont make any sort of a difference in most real games. Interupting healing doesnt happen -that- often, and if you do interrupt them and end up downing them anyway, Hemo has done nothing.
It does mean Pinhead's Scourge Hook counters Resurgence though, both perks no one uses :p
-
Didn't know the hatch thing, guess it's to stop you leaving Charlotte on top of the open Hatch while hunting as Victor.
-
Yeah it's a shame. Statistically they're strong and with enough practise you can do consistantly well with them, but the reason they're by -far- the least played killer is just because they feel incredibly slow and clunky. I still enjoy playing them a lot but I wish they'd make them more streamlined, even if they had to nerf some other things to do it.
And yeah you can't switch if you're close to the hook, you can't switch right after a pounce, you can't switch too close to an exit gate. I understand some of these things are to prevent bodyblocking abuse buuuut you can still do some unfair things with the two of them.

well camping is the reason we run those perks CoH is only effective against 3 killers. dead hard to me isnt really a problem but i do know that a lot of people hate it. But when you get hook camped 6 games in a row your literally forced to run BT, DS, DH and UB
+ that doesnt make any sense hook camping is a horrible strategy THAT DOESNT WORK if the survivors do gens but they dont the last game against the hook camping nemesis I DID 2(i nearly did 3 one got interrupted at 95% when we managed to unhook one but he hooked me next to the gen and continued camping) out of those 3 gens while my other 3 teammes well idk what they were doing
CoH is effective against almost every killer, that's why it's meta. It's mere existence has completely killed hit-and-run based strategies and made spreading injuries around for pressure just not viable anymore. If you arent one of the top killers who can reliably end chases quickly, you're outright punished for -not- camping.
And yes, the counter to face camping is to smash gens quickly, but most solo-queue groups and even a lot of SWFers don't do that, which is why it works most games.
