Most joyous thing I can find on a killer after prestiging them (Even Old Freddy) Is brutal strength because it isn't a 2-perk SF/Enduring combo you need to level, and helps you clear pallets on m1 killers. Really ends up making a difference.

Other than that, I cry and thank jesus every time my bloodweb gives me Yellow Trapper Sacks. Thank you, Jesus Christ, for blessing me with the one addon that makes my favorite killer playable.

I’d kinda like to see brutal strength have a slight gen regression bonus, I mean if you kick it hard enough... would make it a very good perk choice, I’ve never really liked the SF/enduring combo of giving up 2 perk slots, so I get what you mean, it does make a difference.

That’s pretty true, another thing I’d like to see baseline that he can always carry at least 2 traps, but I definitely get what you mean, great addon to find on trapper, I also like bloody coil/honing stone but that’s a little less viable to use every match, doesn’t make it any less satisfying though.

When i got ruin, third seal and devour hope on my level 18 hag, it really helped me with her adept achievement.

I dont play her at all, i despise her gameplay style.

That’s pretty good too, at least they’re her perks, were they level one though? ah killer adepts, how lucky you are to have done some of those. I think an early BBQ or PGTW is my absolute favourite to see regardless of who it is, it’s like a blessing.

I just played a few games with David for a daily, and I realized I still have a Bloodweb level full of Christmas boxes... looks like I haven't leveled the old chap for quite a while.

Wow, I had the same thing recently with the same character but not half as bad, it was Halloween offerings... Christmas... in July? That’s a long time though, wow...that’s actually strangely impressive 😂

When they reworked the bloodweb to not require 120k BP to level up once. Good times, good times.

Very true, it’s about half of that now if you don’t use the “least expensive” path method and actually want good items at lv 50. Hopefully they’ll reduce the grind even further soon. I’d love to be able to sell useless addons etc honestly, I could deal with the grind, if I was only spending bp on things I actually wanted, also be nice to get 3 perks per web, it was painful getting useless perk after useless perk...

  • Survivor: botany, we’ll make it, lithe/balanced/WGLF, urban (yeah urban, I use it to escape a chase once I break LoS or avoid chase to start with)

Killer: BBQ, PGTW, discordance and character specific perk (nurses for ghostface, M&A for Myers)

I seriously love we’ll make it, it’s pretty cool you’re trying a no perk run though, I used to do that when I prestiged survivors, it makes the game so much more fun and intense, it’s good to do occasionally. I find I even sometimes do better because I have to pay attention and make quick decisions or die, perks kinda dull that sometimes.

  • Ghosty boi and Mikey right now... I try to switch up characters but I always return to the stalky bois eventually, it’s where I’m most comfortable right now. Different playstyles and match experiences sure but that’s what makes it so good.❤️

I think most people pair that with Victim's Detailed Routine to make survivors have to come pretty close to reveal you, but I don't use Driver's license unless I have nothing else useful. I haven't actually tested the ranges, but I would imagine when paired with Victim's Detailed Routine it could get pretty useful.

Really good point, I haven’t tried stacking them either (stacked near everything but those wow), maybe that’s when it really makes a visible difference. Shame it doesn’t seem to do that much on its own.

  • @Volfawott said:

Well I don't think adding a timer should be a thing I feel like adding me skull symbol can definitely be a benefit above the survivor icon.

This I can agree with, it lets you know a teammate is exposed and doesn’t eliminate the usefulness of the power or perk, nice.

  • I guess it’s because of his addons, as some give an extra bottle, still 5 or 6 at base would be a pretty nice buff and maybe rework those other bottle number addons a little/into something else. It’s not like they actually do the damage like huntress hatchets. But then imagining this combined with pinky finger as a base number of bottles...hmm. That would probably need to be changed a little as a result.

  • Hmm, I notice a slight difference, mainly because I recently decided to stand on top of a hill to test it and have a stare off with a Dwight and a Min that I normally would have lost especially with 2 survivors. But don’t think it’s enough of a difference to be a purple addon though, it falls victim to the inconsistent reveals problem. Not the best addon to be honest. I don’t get revealed from across the map though if that’s what you mean (though this rarely happened to me in the first place so just to be clear I don’t know if the addon changes this much at all). Until any bugs with reveals are 100% fixed I can’t say for sure how useful this addon is in all situations. Seems slightly useful...sometimes.

  • I just have a general idea in some of these situations because they usually run immediately afterwards or I investigate the area and find only them crouched behind something etc while I know others have to be elsewhere (I.e. discordance) It’s not a certain thing because like you said there’s no way to know for sure without it. Just feels really inconsistent especially if I can find only them really close by after it but not get the notification on half the occasions that it happens. Who knows though, it’s just a guess based on an observation since we don’t have any real reason why the notification doesn’t occur in some situations.

  • @thesuicidefox said:

Ghostface is actually a strong killer but it requires you to have a lot of awareness of survivors' general positions. If you never even have a clue about where they are you will not have a good time because they will break your stalk constantly.

The only change I'd want to see is just fix the buggy break out mechanic. It seems so inconsistent. Sometimes a survivor breaks my stalk when they are miles away or behind an object. Other times they will be standing there staring me in the face while I mark them super easy. Other times the Killer Instinct blip doesn't even come up at all. Fix the bugs and I'm sure most people wouldn't have a problem with him.

That killer instinct thing seems to happen in a few of my matches, do you notice it’s if a survivor is close and behind an object/debris at all? I tend to not get the notification if they’re too close to me at the time. Or at least that’s what the general trend of that seems to be.

But then thinking about it when I was revealed by a Nea recently from behind a window and those weird display stands in the gas heaven map main building I still got the notification then and she was at about the same distance as I’ve found survivors that revealed me without notification, seems even that is inconsistent. Maybe you are right, if the bugs were fixed maybe it would solve a lot of issues to be had with his gameplay.

Thats the first I've heard of this glitch. Just weird. It took forever, it seemed, to do 5 gens myself. And with that chase theme music pounding in my ears I only blew 2 skill checks 😣

Yeah first time I had seen that glitch too, I can only imagine what it looked like to the survivor because I was crouching around it in the area, stabbing at its direction and basically shoving my face into the ground because I was dead certain it was right there and I wanted to close it so the survivor and I got the EGC points, I guess judging by your story they probably could hear it or thought I was having a malfunction, either way. 😂

I’d bet, basically an entire games objective by yourself 😨

  • I had this in a match recently as ghostface, it was on the gas heaven autohaven map right up the top middle near rocks behind that stack of cars/truck that spawn...yeah I was super confused, I was going in and out of shroud to give the hooked person some points, then suddenly heard the hatch directly below my feet but couldn’t see it, it only became visible after the survivor was sacrificed for a split second before the game end screen I think it was wedged too close to the rock, tree and hook. Maybe the tree spawn next to the hook messed it up...?

The entity tendril things on the base of the hook were kind of sticking into the hatch when it did become visible, maybe that might have blocked it too? I could close it just as the game ended though so no idea if it was possible to escape via it bc the survivor was hooked prior to it opening and me realising it was even there. Couldn’t ask if they saw it either because they had restricted private messages.

Didn’t know it could happen on other maps, must be a full glitch. Also that bubba is super patient, I get in the same situation sometimes with DCs etc and I just get bored eventually and hook someone, I’ll generally close the hatch if they don’t go to it and let the last person get the gate though. I need to learn bubbas teachings apparently. 😂

As long as it doesn't affect Myers, I'm fine with it. Just seems like you should know the Exposed timers tho.

I agree, perks yes, Myers no. People don’t need an active timer on his power, because his power effects everyone, it’s part of what makes it strong, because people panic and don’t know how long you have left they may even wait until it’s gone completely, a timer means they’d use your TR to know where you are, then check the time, make an estimate of if it’s possible for you to catch them etc and be more likely to resume progress if they feel it’s safer, that would totally decimate any strategy or surprise for infinite, extended or normal duration.

I’ve seen it’s pretty hard for most to come up with decent buffs for him anyway because he’s kinda balanced now, I just don’t see this particular change working out well or the effect on solos etc being worth the potential nerf to Myers. I.e. the only people who really need to know about MYC are people who unhook, they realise and if the killer instantly downs them after the unhook everyone figures it out anyway if not for the scream etc if they’re in the area. Same with Rancor, the only person who really needs to know is the obsession and they tend to play accordingly.

  • Apparently tomorrow we get bill, we can celebrate now, especially you @Theluckyboi 🎉

I have an absolutey absteract and weird Idea to change him.

    • Put his TR-reduction stealth effect into his crouched-stance instead of his fickle Nightshroud-buff
    • Stalking stays with Nightshroud

This will let him ambush a first prey even if he is spotted by a second one.

One of the reasons I dislike his kit is that getting spotted disables "both" of his powers.

That’s actually a cool idea, it would probably need more balancing to night shroud as a result but it’s not a bad idea.

    @Marcus said:

Ghost Face buffs needed in my opinion : Object of Obsession doesn't work while he is in Night Shroud and shorter cooldown. The fact that he can be revealed easily wouldn't matter so much if his cooldown wouldn't been so punishing.

This pretty much summarises my problem with him, decent ability and potential to be really strong but without addons for cooldown good luck using your power in a versatile way. I.e. attempting a stalk and then using it for chases on others in a short time.

Wraith: this was actually my third main, i completely love stealth killers, especially one who can move quickly, pop up out of nowhere and lose prying eyes within seconds. his (in my opinion) best addons are easy to get and keep going (coxcomb/bone clapper & ghost).

Freddy: my very first main, the king of nightmares, he has always held a spot in my psyche, i couldn't watch his movies growing up because of how often i was plagued with nightmares myself, as i grew older fear grew to love and to find him in the game when I started playing gave me the opportunity to bring those nightmares to life (yea i get a little sadistic with him so what)

Hag: honestly was one of the first killers i prestiged, m&a + black skin makes for another scary combo that is just to die for. Her traps make for easy quick movement to areas of the map you've been, her sheer unpredictability makes her hold a special spot in my heart

GF: my final main, this is a full double whammy, he gives my meme-y side an outlet as well as providing me the satisfaction of destroying a team with "the underdog" (activating and deactivating crouch repeatedly while walking looks like he is hopping and is very funny from a survivor viewpoint. Btw)

    HONORABLE MENTIONS

These killers would be mains if it weren't so easy to play them or if i had more time with them

Billy: vroom vroom, honestly there isn't a killer alive that can match his cross map movement and sheer usefulness (other than rework freddy and even then his power takes to long to consider here), insta down with quick movement to boot its clear why he is the king of DBD and it is for his over use that i dont main him

Spirit: wraith turned up to 1mil insta hits out of phase? Yes please. Complete disability? Yes please. Only downside is like billy she is over used thus i avoid maining her

Doctor: beyond pre-rework freddy this killer is probably one of the best interrupter/locator obviously now the best (my personal choice for him is full calm combo + whispers as the treatment tr radius for calm doc is beyond whispers, punishment mode until whisper proc the treat your patients XD

Just on a side note of the meme-bility of ghostface with crouch...don’t try to combine the leather knife sheath and the drop leg knife sheath and tbag at the speed of sound while moving around, you are not wrong, it feels like hopping but with that speed and magnitude it’s almost sickness inducing from the camera movement. I learned this the hard way while meme-ing with a friend.😅

I kinda just clicked a randome thing. No idea what I was doing.

There are a few starters in here:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/95/forum-guide#latest

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/f-a-q-

Welcome to the forums btw, can seem pretty hard to get around at first ☺️

  • Even though they’re being rude (big surprise there with some people who play this game)... they have a point, I didn’t even realise this is in the wrong section I went through recent discussions, if you ever need to check or need to move a post to the correct part of the forum try getting in contact with one of the mods like Rizzo90, Mandytalk etc. by putting “@“ then their names. They can either close the thread or move it to the right location.

  • Piggy looks really cool and menacing and you did a great job at capturing that tense moment through the scared expression on feng. Hope to see more in future for sure, great work 😊❤️

  • This is pretty difficult, I’ve been drawing him a lot and I always draw it in parts as I have below (sorry if my writing is terrible) in any case I see the (let’s call it chestplate/hooded cowl/hood) is one continuous piece, it has the front face cover (initially I thought this was seperate but it isn’t) the top hood which I imagine can be raised and lowered, and the chest piece which is how the hood is attached/held in place with 2 straps either side that link the front and back parts, it looks strangely solid for a “hood” so I’d assume you’d probably need some structure or padding, same with the shoulder pads (which I also believe are separate from the coat and hood parts)

    31FF7B01-1648-49BC-A2F0-EDA0677B8208.png

I would definitely suggest trying to make it yourself, it’s a custom job for sure, thinking on how I would start I would either buy a base hooded cowl (medieval style maybe) and restructure it (I.e. cut, sew, adjust and pad. Or build from the base up with a modified cowl pattern as below (lazy screen shot to show patterns exist online)

    8FB8F303-E44E-4C46-9EFD-9546282C7DC7.png

I would personally try to get a combination of a traditional hood and the below image (listed as a hooded medieval cowl), maybe by making it as two separate parts initially. It’s definitely a tough one, makes me almost want to try making it myself (but I’m still working on a Gotham scarecrow one so best not to get myself too excited or distracted trying to think of how to approach this one)

Hope this helps a little, (probably not but thought I’d try) I love trying to figure out designs of costumes. Sorry for the bad images above, it was really to just show an “idea” of what I was trying to describe and the first one was a lazy screenshot I took ages ago for reference just to show how I see the “parts”

@Kiskashi If they're trying to body block you for too long you could just wait until your power is back up, finish the mark and one hit down them.

What if they’re half to 3/4 marked, in the open, there are 2 of them, there’s no real way to finish that stalk in time as I rely mostly on leaning for marks, I rarely bother with the 99% thing anymore because of how people have started to play, it’s just easier for me to position myself to cut them off from a strong loop, expose them fully and down them in 1 action than to not really want to hit them later because of the stalk progress. I just find it works better for me to complete a mark than to risk losing it, lets me play more versatile. I appreciate the advice though, thanks for trying to explain it. Just kinda disappointing there aren’t any really good ghostface streamers to learn really high level play ideas from, I enjoy watching Otz play him but that’s rare that he does.

    Thank you for your reply.

The Sensitivity is max yes, tbh I have a hlaf controller half mouse I could use when I play on ps4, it isjust annoying because I need to set up a table for it and use a secondary controller for the audio so it is a bit of an hassle.

With a regular, but professional controller like the nacon pro, it is still very difficult to follow all the twist and sharp turns survivors do when 360ing. Simple with a mouse hard with a controller, and the only solution I found is to approach the survivor, wait before I strike to see how they try to dodge, see their dodging strategy and then strike, it works but you waste 3-4 seconds.

As for the rest, I don't really plan to go to red ranks, at the moment I would just like to be able to play relaxed without anxiety and stress.

@Kiskashi You are probably right, weirdly enough I feel way more relaxed when I play killers I don't normally play because it's less "real" , it's hard to explain but for example if i play trapper (I normally don't) and I get stomped I dont care much because trapper is not a real killer for me, I just play him for dailies.

If I play nurse as an example, and I am getting stomped I feel so much pressure on me. If I miss two blinks in a row I feel like my heart starts to race, I get annoyed and I need to win or else I would be humiliated. it is so sad that my brain cannot really relax and just accept it's a simple game :(

Maybe just keep seeing it as you’re learning every killer then try not to think about that “experience pressure”. I certainly haven’t reached the absolute peak with any killers, or as a killer in general. I used to get the same with Mikey because I was afraid if this is my best then if I screw up it’s just even worse, but in the end I’ve just come to accept that I play him for fun now, it’s killers I used to play well and then come back and suck as them that make losses feel worst for me, like all that skill and hard work has just vanished, but then again sometimes survivors are just really good, and it’s a mixed bag every match, sometimes the best you can do is learn.

Not everything is in your control after all, I really hope you can find some way to relax and enjoy it again. I’m going to try to think more positive myself after reading this thread, I’m going to try new addon/perk combos and try to stop worrying so much about playing perfectly. thanks for posting this discussion, there’s definitely some good responses in here, it’s really made me think about why I stress so much playing certain killers.

In terms of OPs question, basically BBQ, PGTW (could be ruin, could be H:DH), discordance, M&A (with J Myers memorial and dead rabbit for addons), don’t underestimate discordance on Myers, taking t3 to a team rushed gen is always a fun time also helps find survivors fast early match.

Thank you for this, so you think that if I just focus on one killer and master it I would probably feel less pressure, am I correct?

That’s how I feel it, not so much one you feel super OP as, just one you feel really, really comfortable as, Mikey is a bit of a “we’ve seen most things together”/old stomping grounds killer for me, I’ve played him since I was a baby killer, most hours, most experience, has all perks and 100s of addons/offerings. It’s more like he’s my kick back and chill killer. I can change builds, I can not care as much, I can do whatever, because I’ve done most of it before and I’ve already played him competitively.

  • @Atrushan88 said:

@Kiskashi Against any form of coordinated team nearly every killer has problems. Ghostface is no exception. But if a survivor is following you around you can get a hit. If they're close enough to reveal you while you're hiding behind something, they're close enough to take a hit. As for videos, I have none, as I don't stream or take videos.

Yes except hits take away any stalk you did have on them, half the time they’ll bodyblock because they know this and you can’t chase all 3. It’s not about the “free hit” it’s about feeling like being the one being chased, It’s annoying to no end to have a perfect stalk lined up and then you have that one idiot following you around because they think it’s funny to constantly try to break you out, you can’t focus on what you want to, you must deal with that problem survivor first.

If you don’t see any problems that’s fine, maybe you are just better at playing him, I’m just saying to me he’s a stressful killer (more so than any other killer I play against coordinated teams) that depends too heavily on what survivors are doing/mistakes and perks/addons. Can I get 4K and a lot of marks? Yes. Is it fun? That’s questionable.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/602284#Comment_602284

I agree that that comment is really good, I just don't really know how to improve my resilience.

I do the same thing you do, I can focus on one chase and enjoy because it seems less real.

My issue is when I try to win, when I do I am very stressed and if I lose I feel humiliated and its difficult to go back playing

Honestly in the same boat as you buddy, I’ve been lacking perks to deal with gens such as ruin or PGTW and even if I do have ruin it’s not worth running half the time because it spawns in the middle of corn next to a gen and is cleansed instantly. I try super hard as ghostface lately because of that fear of failure, honestly people rarely even get to the gates anymore even if I’m having what I consider a bad match.

I completely understand how you’re feeling, so much pressure to win, if you do you’re still irritated from panicking and if you don’t you feel terrible even if they didn’t 110% BM because it feels like you messed up hard. I get it, but the most refreshing thing after something like that for me is switching back to a killer I am really comfortable with, like Myers, and just not caring, I’ll still play to win as normal but feels like all that worry doesn’t exist anymore. Maybe you just need to find a level with a killer like that that really helps you cope/not care about winning. My advice is pretty much low level though because I am in near the exact same situation (except I play more survivor than killer to begin with, I’m finding it hard to get more invested in killer) but these are the two things that work for me, taking a break and learning a new killer/playing for a different goal/playing a new build I saw from a favourite streamer (mostly Otz, his builds are crazy) or switching to my demolition machine Myers.

All the best in finding what works for you though, let me know if you find something because I dream of not caring at all like some veterans do.

  • @Atrushan88 said:

@Kiskashi Even on Crotus Penn you can find ways around without being seen. There are a lot of obstacles around Crotus Penn for you to use your crouch and stealth around, and a lot of them are generally around generators. There are no maps I can think of where there's literally nothing but open fields, except for the corn maps, and the corn does an amazing job of hiding you already. It messes with your stalk a bit, but you can still get some off regardless, and if not, you can probably get a gen grab off in the corn fairly easily, well, if gen grabbing wasn't so buggy. No Mither No Problem is right(can't type your name with the underscores, it messes up for some reason), use creative pathing to get around the map.

So against any form of coordinated team you can hide, I still have flashbacks of being against a 3 man SWF on crotus Prenn and having white indicator arrows from all sides at one point, even while crouched behind some of that debris. I’m not disagreeing with you against a normal team, but coordinated teams really mess up my use of power, do you happen to have any videos of good power use against such a team? (Not asking in a bad way, I’m just genuinely curious if there is a good strategy to dealing with this beyond just reverting to a basic killer without a power, only way I found that worked was splitting them up and using height - I.e. crouching on the hill strangely enough or in the main building/tower to get marks or just using the power to hide TR in a chase at LOS blocked loops)

I really just wonder with these kind of posts, a majority say there are problems, a minority say there are none just get better. Makes trying to make sense of how good a killer actually is confusing. I rarely see any streamers play him seriously anymore too so that doesn’t help when I like to watch people play at red ranks to learn, you could say tru3 but I wouldn’t say that’s an example of what you are saying is the optimal way to play him.

I just can’t help but feel the way you need to play him is often dictated by the survivors, if they are aggressive, you must be too, meaning less time to set up stalk. I just think he’s an incredibly map/build/addon dependant killer (which few seem to say it’s just skill, git gud) but each to their own opinion of him I suppose.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/601703#Comment_601703

I started caring more about playing to improve, meaning I take chases vs good survivors rather than get easy kills and rank ups.

About gen speed. Game is balanced around casuals, if survivors want to "get the gens and get out" there is nothing you can do about it beside being god Nurse.

All in all there are always mistakes you make, identify them and fix them and become better player.

This is a really underrated comment, I think the most fun I had as a killer a while back was playing as a doc and chasing a really good nea through some horrible jungle gyms. Sounds bad right? Not really, I was learning how a good survivor paths those loops and overall didn’t care about anything else. Sure 3 people escaped that match including the nea but I think I learned a lot, definitely got my shock daily and the nea and I were laughing about it at the end because we both thought it was a fun chase (important highlight, some non toxic survivors exist and can take a win with grace), I wasn’t really chasing her to absolutely catch her, I was chasing because I wanted to learn. Learning is the best way to see it or as others have said finding new goals.

I really get OPs thoughts sometimes though, I have the same mindset to playing killer right now, failure is not an option otherwise BM is going to happen, may make some think I play “sweaty” as my killer aggression goes through the roof when I get pressured (I.e. slug to regain pressure, take full advantage of SWF altruism/clustering of survivors etc) basically meaning there soon becomes at least 3 people preoccupied just with being slugged, injured or chased and gens slow to a complete stop, yes, this is good I guess, but is it chill or fun? Not at all. It’s most of the reason it’s hard to pick up the role, once I do start that first match it’s fine, before that it’s 100% putting it off.

I just don’t even go to exit gates if I have a really rough match anymore though, I spend the time breaking pallets, practicing huntress hatchets/bubba chainsaws etc, placing traps for points, can’t be Tbagged if you never show up and if they’re that dedicated to come to you, well that’s their misfortune. I’ve also had someone die to EGC because they wanted to taunt so bad, that was perfect.

  • Hmm I’d say recent ghostface release plus Freddy rework, I still play him occasionally and see him occasionally (I swap between both stalky bois) but there has been a dramatic decrease in the last few months, prior to the 3rd anniversary event I’d get like 5-10 of them back to back. Personally I was getting a little burnt out with Mikey so ghostface was a nice change of pace, maybe everyone else is experiencing something similar currently.

It almost makes me feel a little guilty being a Mikey main and being part of this not playing as much void and seeing these posts or comments on YT 😅 never knew people would miss him so much after such a short time.

  • @Atrushan88 said:

@Kiskashi I like using my stalk in a chase to mind game so I generally use Chewed Pen/Olsen's Address Book when I have them. His power recovery addons are my favorite for this for obvious reasons, and unless I'm standing straight up in the middle of a field or something, I usually don't get revealed that easily.

That’s the problem, I get what you mean but maps like crotus Prenn ARE open maps, meaning good luck. Most others do have extremely open areas, most even around gens, makes me glad the distance on stalking is pretty far, otherwise it would be even worse in those areas where sneaking up is near impossible against a good group.

Yeah, sure, but look at nurse or spirit. People can mess you up with brown addons.

    Ghost? Need the purples lol

@toxic_clown Ghostface's power recovery addons are green, yellow, and brown, not purple. Unless you're talking about his reveal range decrease addons, his purples aren't amazing. I mean his crouch speed is pretty decent as well but I don't feel like I need a movement speed increase.

I think the addon rarity is referring to a popular combo of chewed pen (amazing, my favourite, 10/10) which is green rarity and drivers licence which is purple rarity, the others below this do help but not significantly, I use these two or the lasting perfume (green) or the green crouch speed where like mentioned, I agree, when I play spirit at similar ranks I use yellows at best, even with Michael I use two yellows (memorial flower and dead rabbit) or switch memorial for J Myers memorial (my preferred, green) and, in comparison, these are just to play a decent/normal match as ghostface (really good match if you do use drivers licence but I often use exposed duration or crouch speed)...

It doesn't feel that bad to be. His cooldown addons are extremely useful, but it's terrible without them. In my experience right after I hook without cooldown addons it takes maybe 5 seconds or so to get my power back. With cooldown addons it can be while I'm hooking or right after I hook pretty much, so I don't think it's absolutely terrible without CD addons. I definitely do feel like those are his BEST addons though, outside of his "Ghost Face Caught on Tape". As for breaking him out of stealth, I don't feel like I'm broken out that often. Even without the addons, they have to get pretty close to break you out.

Umm, do you not get broken out from offensive actions (I.e. stabbing a survivor?) shroud gets broken quite a lot in a normal match no matter how good you are (even without full reveals) unless you use cooldown and reduced detection, I wish I had that kind of shroud... Without the addons it is a long time, considering as others say sometimes you still get broken out even when ducking behind cover, even recently I had a nea break me out from under a window at the gas heaven map centre/main building (but I somehow still stalked her and exposed her beforehand so that was strange all round, was nice to join the survivor side of not needing to physically see each other, maybe I just saw the top of her head? 😂)

I don’t even play without CD anymore, it allows me to actually get use out of my power be it sneaking up or just normal marking. The base cooldown is kinda punishing for losing it on just a normal attack also considering you forfeit any stalk progress you had on that survivor just by hitting them.

I had one, but it was weird, don't really remember any other details, it was just weird XD

I had one that was weird recently, but I do remember some details and it makes it even more weird because it went from a typical dbd endgame chasing down the last survivor to something completely different involving flying...yes flying, working WITH a survivor, a deadly sickness infecting everyone/quarantine and a catastrophic fire/world collapse, you know you’ve played a killer too much when you have a dream that you are them though...😰 I remember early on when I first started playing I had a dream about being chased by a wraith though, much, much more terrifying in first person than in game 😅

Your dream sounds really intense and cool though @NMCKE

As a survivor, whenever a killer acts as though they outplayed me when they just get lucky. For example, I'll 360 a killer just to get stuck on nothing and the killer gets me with the very end of their lunge animation and then act smug about it (shaking / nodding head etc).

As killer, when multiple survivors escape and teabag at the exit gates when I played fair, without annoying perks and tried to make the game as fun as possible for everyone else.

Both of these are so accurate, especially the killer one, but also a random key find in a match I was otherwise set to win in another minute or so, had it happen a while ago with pig, 1 gen left that was half progress (not that hard seriously but they all sucked at running me) and 2 last survivors went immersed for 5-10 minutes only to find a key and find the hatch. That was probably the most annoying key play in existence purely because of the 10 minute immersion game, really wish I had whispers on my pig that day...

As a survivor, teammates who hide near the hook and don’t save until second phase due to crouch walking or “hiding from nothing” then only save you just as the killer is returning and then take off leaving you to die...even with kindred, just...the worst thing aside from normal “teammate” issues. Those killers who instead target the unhooking deserter are my absolute favourite beings.❤️ Seriously makes my day when the killer destroys them for it and gives me a second chance in a game that otherwise would have been over.

  • I thought initially I’d give it a while because I wasn’t super great at the start but I’ve basically played as him exclusively for a while. I currently lack ruin and PGTW so lack good gen protection perks, so yes, extremely prone to gens going off at the speed of light if I don’t play smart and apply proper pressure. In a normal solo survivors/maybe duo SWF match, super fun, I can get up to 8+ exposed marks, I don’t panic and it’s a great match usually ending in 3-4K depending on if I let someone go.

SWF 3+ is where I really don’t have fun, yes this goes for any killer but ghostface feels it the most imo. Some will actively deny shroud and you just get less marks overall and fall back to just a basic killer without a power (unless you’re using cooldown addons which I now have locked into my builds as I can actually use my power in a versatile way I.e. sneaking up on people healing, normal leaning/marking etc without waiting a century for that base cooldown) and I have to play the sweatiest I’ve played with any killer (I.e. slug pressure/exploiting altruism, 3 gen strats etc regardless of what rank I am if it’s a coordinated group) just to get the same end result (I.e. 3-4K because I am trying to rank past green, and it’s not a fun match)

I’ve said it myself before, maybe I’m just not good enough with him yet but anyone who says he’s perfect/viable/a really good killer really isn’t admitting how build/perk/addon/map reliant/dependant he is. I’m glad to see a few others feeling the same way, and I really, really want to enjoy this killer, I like his lore, his character, his style but the gameplay is like flipping a coin, super fun or stress overload.

Especially when I can switch to any other killer I’m comfortable with and chill a lot more at the same rank with or without gen protection perks. It’s half the reason I don’t get the comparison between him and Myers, it’s no contest to me, I enjoy them both but not gonna lie it’s a lot harder to keep up as ghostface sometimes depending on the team even if I end with the same 3-4k.

In terms of how I play, lean to stalk always, versatile shroud use as above, build of: discordance, thrilling tremors, BBQ and nurses. Addons of chewed pen (any cooldown really) and reduced detection range/crouch speed (or increased duration of exposed early on)

Thank your for the reply! Was not expecting someone to reply so soon. I never really run into "toxic" survivors. This is kinda the first time so I did not know what to make of it.

I kinda travel around the forums, happy to help, if it really becomes an issue messages can be set to friends only on console, playing offline (appearing offline) also works occasionally. People will usually blame the killer rather than their team or their own plays, just try not to let them project it on to you and just play how you feel is right/how you want to/how you enjoy playing. 😊

  • No, if you keep finding the same person by accident it’s fine, it’s just unlucky, true tunneling is when there ARE other targets nearby and the killer only targets the unhooked survivor repeatedly until they are dead. This person probably shouldn’t run no mither if they’re actually not good enough to either lose/avoid or run the killer. It’s also his teammates ditching him and not bothering to take your attention off him. Not like he could be healed anyway... You’re fine, try not to worry about it, people will be horrible if they perceive they’ve been wronged even if they were just unlucky.

  • Yeah it’s on every single exposed now be it marking, Michael t3, perks or haunted etc, I think it’s also in the patch notes. It threw me off because I did have a ghostface but he also had haunted grounds, luckily I had spine chill and realised he was actually going for me in the cornfields... I kind of hope they revert it since everyone has already associated that VFX/SFX with ghostface.

Edit: Found it in the patch notes:

    Gameplay

    • Added a visual and SFX notification when affected by the Exposed status effect.

@kikashi will do. If you come across a Plague or Freddy that isn’t rubbish, it’s probably me. If you come across a try hard P3 clown that’s easily stomped, that’s probably me too, lol.

I’ll probably be a ghostface or Myers (no promises, depends on my dailies too) at yellow-green ranks right now if you play survivor or an Adam that runs we’ll make it and botany knowledge at rank 5 and switches between actually good plays or completely messed something up. I don’t take survivor super seriously ALL the time and run weird builds.😋 Strangely I don’t see many decent plagues at all anymore...used to be at least 2 I knew of. Freddy is still the killer of the day/week so might be hard to know hahaha. I’ll keep it in mind though.

    Yeah, same name.

Mostly play killer (Plague, Freddy, Clown).

I do play survivor too but never rank up outside of yellow because I am complete crap. Lol.

Funny I’m the exact opposite, I don’t play killer enough to get past green/purple for the season yet but I play survivor at green-purple and eventually red ranks. I see those killers a lot recently too, darn, I’ll have to keep an eye out, maybe we’ll run into each other some time, because I definitely run into some others, pretty much a give away when they have OZ/Aussie in the name 😂

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I’m PS4, based in Australia, and same. Lots of survivors in green and purple get matched with me, usually from either Australia and parts of Asia.

The skill pool seems to be pretty high in terms of players I’m frequently matched with. I very rarely go against potatoes, except around the time DBD is on sale and there are a great increase in new players.

Do you use the same name as forums? Just curious, I’m same region and I don’t think I’ve ever run into you, which would be weird considering I’ve seen a few others from the forums. I find I was occasionally getting Asia players non stop a while back when they introduced the different matchmaking but then it became UK/America then now I have no idea it’s mixed.

  • That’s interesting. I’m purple ranks survivor and I rarely play 2 matches with the same people (killer or survivor), if I see them it’s weeks apart or at least 5 matches apart and it’s only 1 repeat unless we both somehow ready up for the next match at the same time and get rematched instantly. I’m also being put against red rank killers though... but in terms of running into the same players every match...not yet?

Makes me wonder about deranking though, yellow to green ranks seems to be super sweaty on both sides and then green ranks killer is full of potatoes after all those good players, makes me question a lot of things... makes me want to stay permanently in purple ranks... (red as survivor at least)

It's like, the harder you loop them, the harder they camp you.

It's their lack of skill but here we are.

My dude out here making Billy look bad.

It hurts I know, I’ve had a Myers tunnel me hard (I.e actually stepping around other survivors/ignoring them) and use ew3 on me while I was already injured because I ran them for a while, others just 100% facecamp if I run them too long and avoid their ew3/deny stalk at the same time. Painful to watch others give your boi a bad name...he’s not even a weak killer, they just are really bad at playing him...

I haven’t seen too much hard facecamping lately though (even with bubbas which used to be a 90% chance now more like 20%), returning instantly to the hook to tunnel yes, camping...seems like it’s dying out a bit for me. Had one ghost camp a basement in my last session, that’s it. They were also just a really bad ghost though, they used haunted grounds and failed to catch me for the entire duration, they also had MYC but camped so??? and also NOED like how bad do you actually have to be as an exposed killer to rely on more than one perk for your exposed😂 They only got one mark so I can’t say I’m surprised. I know it’s part meme build but wow that early basement camp of 2 survs with 4 gens (managed to do an entire other two as well) and 2 bps was nice...

  • Survivor main (70/30) because I can play with a friend and change builds without stressing (feel like that makes it so much more tolerable, I used to enjoy full solo but I’m just tired of it, plus it’s nice to catch up while having a few matches) but thinking of starting to play killer more until it’s at least a true 50/50 (if not slightly more killer) because there are so many builds I want to try and killers I want to play again (been getting stuck playing ghostface but wow it’s game changing I.e. relaxing to switch back to Myers, been playing those 2 lately but I really want to play plague, huntress and doctor again...I really need to go back to full survivor session on Fridays and full killer session on weekends. One killer focused in each session in cycles until I’m confident with them all.

@Kiskashi My favorite thing to use is the dead rabbit with the glass shard. Gaining the glass shard's aura reading effect when the survivor is trying to do loops that remove LOS comes in handy for heading them off on whichever side theyre not expecting it. If you start getting into the habit of stalking enough to meet the 1 second requirement of glass shard, youll ACCIDENTLY have your T3 ready. It starts getting you into the habit of stalking strategically instead of trying to FORCE it to hit t3.

Never really use shards since back when I tried the time was false it gave like 1-2s aura instead of 5 making it not worth taking (I thought it was trash from the brief flicker of an aura and gave up on them), I keep forgetting to try it now. I don’t know style if that would work for me though because I stalk from a distance, I very rarely close in or stalk during a loop, I store ew3 early and use it on groups I find with discordance or when I catch a survivor in a bad position/in the open. But thanks for sharing a different playstyle idea 😊 I’m always stuck on J Myers memorial and dead rabbit, fast stalks when I need them, super low TR (with M&A) combine it with discordance for some real fun.

  • @LordGlint said:

@Kiskashi Im not suggesting a full rework or anything, mostly what feels like QOL changes. His jewelry addons which increases movement speed while stalking for example...actually dont. They only affect your movement speed while your holding the button and NOT stalking anyone, which you could simply let off the button and push it again when you have someone infront of you.

I didn’t mean you were, I get you’re just wanting to discuss slight changes, I’m just concerned in general given recent changes, I don’t really want to lose another killer from my roster if things do go overboard, especially my main 😅

I’ve talked about the “stalking movement speed” addons in other threads, I too find them absolutely useless, if anything was going to be changed in terms of addons I sure hope it is them (potentially remove entirely and add a new class like mentioned above by heroiq for the restoration rate idea), I’d like to see them add things to make the playstyle different, I’m addicted to using dead rabbit because of how drastic a change in TR can be especially with M&A, allowing me to use t3 more strategically but still be able to clean up in t2 (as a majority of the match is spent in t2 unless the killer is one of those won’t chase/attack unless t3 mikeys) over half the time I’ll only go t3 twice in an entire match because I actually like to get a chaser score for once (an issue I hope they look into)

I just want to see more of these kinds of addons that change how t2 functions (maybe even removing the red stain/reducing TR for a few seconds on a certain action like a gen being completed or tiering etc to make t2 more stealthy too) given vanity mirror is a little useless on large maps due to the decreased movement speed. (Also something I’d like to see change given the range of the stalk, it’s just not worth the trade off on a large map plus not immune to detection like scratched/t1, also consider it’s purple rarity and does nothing much but hinder you in the end) Overall though I’m not really hoping for anything revolutionary, I’m quite content as is. Would also be nice if the ultras weren’t a guaranteed depip/feel cheap to use and actually just gave a bonus in the match. (I really don’t care for Judith’s, tombstone piece is okay though)

Funny thing thinking on it is that I don’t use half the addons (shards, tombstones, jewellery, mirrors) but really don’t know how they could be reworked. I guess I’ve just adapted to what I’ve got too much at this point. 😞

  • You know you’re dead when you’re on first hook and/or no one comes until second phase and then as some timid teammate crouch walks towards you (without urban) and hides nearby another teammate runs past with the killer and loops near you and them scaring away your only chance at life.

  • @Maelstrom10 said:

I'd rather the stalk he has on people "regenerate" very slowly, over time. So if he stalks someone to Max at the start of the match he can return to stalk them again later during the match. Could also have an upper limit to how much stalk can regenerate per gen done, to prevent match stalling. This would put him more on par with ghostface whom can infinitely gain instadowns.

Tldr - regenerating stalk, but takes time to regenerate.

This would be the only cool thing, I think he’s fairly balanced right now so it concerned me a little when the devs suggested “looking into it” during the Q&A. Slight tweaks might be appreciated such as multi stalk or something like this (great suggestion btw ❤️), everything else... just please don’t. I’m getting a little tired of fearing for killers “changes”. Freddy is probably one of the few recent exceptions.
