Are Boon totems going to have game changing effects or something small and minor?

Because it makes sense if it's minor if you can relight it. If it's game changing like Ruin, then it might be problematic

We should be finding out soon as with all the teasing of the new survivor and how there is a PTB this week. I'm pretty sure that we will see boon totems this week more than likely.

  • @Kebek said:

    Sounds scary doesn't it.

But if so, can killers rebuild their hex totems if they get cleased ?

Or is that a survivor privilege since they wouldn't enjoy a perk that can be permanently removed without the option to re-activate it.

all I can imagine is wraiting in the fetal position slowly building up his totem with the remainder bones, popsicle sticks and elmers glue XD

  • here lemme mark off another for you, PTB WHEN?!?! As ngl i wanna try the new stuff haha

  • They arent scrapping it, it will still be in the PTB to be tested but they are pushing it back so it will be the best it could be. I'd rather have something pushed back and working rather than it being rushed out and broken most of the time. You know like how a lot of updates have been in the past? It seems like they are possibly learning from previous mistakes.

  • @dspaceman20 said:

what bug are you talking about?

Sometimes when using an exhaustion perk that grants haste, it becomes permanent. IDK how its triggered and I highly discourage anyone from using it as it ruins the experience for other players.

  • *squints while playing on the RPD map because its so damn dark*

  • @Ruma said:

I bet it will only be like 50k Bloodpoints or something like that.

I doubt its more than 250k and lets be honest, even 1.000.000 wouldnt be that much for 5 years.

    What community event?

  • @baron said:

I think it is more people find running around with him hilarious and don't care about losing.

They are giving him a piggy back ride

  • I think another problem with the map is the fact that apparently hatch can actually spawn on the second floor and not to mention that killers may slug the last two players a lot more due to how far away the doors are. The doors dont move but when you have to weave in and our of rooms and maze-like hallways, the survivor is pretty much guaranteed a free escape unless you are like hag with mint rag lol.

  • @Anara said:

I agree with you but sometimes it can be a strategy. When I play with my friends who are new to the game, I like to be tunneled because my chases are longer and they can do generators.

true, but when they dont have the skills to back it up, it kinda hurts the rest of the team.

  • I usually just 2 hook survivors and let them escape if they aren't licensed and they don't have the crown. I've been dealing with people being god awful to one another during the event that ill play nice

  • @tippy2k2 said:

Unfortunately some people see a fun event and decide "Yes, this is the time to be a complete tosser"

Like...if you don't want to be nice, I understand. It's still DBD, you still have things to do as a killer/survivor, if you want to just play normal and get your normal points and let the chips fall where they fall, I absolutely understand that

But there does seem to be people who specifically go out of their way to ruin events like this. Unfortunately that's just some people's nature to be complete dickweeds. Not a whole lot you can do about it except try not to let it get to you and not take it out on the next group of strangers you play with.

Ya I completely agree and understand, I just wish that BHVR had done something to try and combat this type of behavior(lol) during events. I know that there probably wouldn't be much that they can do but there is some small things. Like make it so survivors actually have a better chance of keeping crowns and they dont just have to escape. Due to the fact that people have to escape to keep their crowns, it tends to affect their actions as well. I've see people that can be totally selfish and only look for crowns the first 20 min of the match and then hide in the basement with a key that they swapped to at the last second in the lobby, leaving the game essentially a 3v1.

  • ya end game doesnt start unless the killer forcefully closes it. if it closes by itself then the rest of the survivors are left to finish the rest of the gens

  • I also suggest checking how much BP you get with the event cakes. As some people are saying that they aren't adding up properly

    Edit: because grammer

  • @Phasmamain said:

What?! No cake every bloodweb is a dealbreaker honestly

And this was on killer too so there were no event items clogging up the bloodweb. I wanted to do killer first to get some grinding out of the way and its super easy to get a lot of points on them

So many people saying their characters arnt feeling good today. On the 1 in like 30 chance you'll get this map 🤣

unless the make it into the pool of more picked maps. Like usually one day I will get nothing but the game and corn maps, the next its lampkin and badham. It seems like their is a constant rotation of maps

So now we know Cheryl's could be unlinked if BHVR wanted to, how many other characters does this apply to, hmm? How far down does the rabbit hole of "preserving a character's image" go?

well damn, lemme get my popcorn as I cant wait to see what happens

  • They could be saboing due to either daily or tome challenges. Whenever I get one I'll slap on that add-on that doesnt alert the killer when you sabo though.

  • Dont worry, your call is very important to is *Loud low quality music screeches at you*

  • Either whesker or even though chris is already in the game. Id want that sailor chris Redfield skin lol

  • I had someone upset that they lost stalk me on multiple social media and constantly try and harass for about a month after the game had happened. Even after blocking their accounts they just kept making new ones.

No, why do you believe that ? Next chapter PTB will maybe be at early September or late August. The event starts in early July or because they changed it at 30th June. Until 15th of July.

There have been PTB's that didnt introduce a new chapter. There was one when they did changes to demo, freddy, and twins. So it is possible for there to be a PTB just for major changes like that.

  • when I play killer: Ormond, Corn, Haddonfield

when I play survivor: Shelter Woods and Lerrys

  • I usually use lithe as deadhard because it barely works for me and I end up exhausted on the ground. But due to the bug with lithe/sprint burst(and I don't feel like walking everywhere) that could cause inifinite speed increase, my safest bet is dead hard lol

I don't get it, I watched 2 videos on this and don't hear anything.

watch the video and you can hear what is like a hum(like a machine or ambient hum). some people thought that was the start of his terror radius but its actually his lullaby. They tried it with insidious and even though insidious was procced they could still hear the hum.

The only players who have been disconnected have crashed. No intentionally disconnects

I've seen streamers take advantage of no penalties and DC because they didnt like the map, killer, etc

  • i think you get like 7k shards, the shrine is cheaper and resets daily and the crown looks different but i think thats it tbh

  • its a winter themed skin(victor with skis) that was in the rift last year, they will probably add it to the in game store later for shards

  • it could be because of the issue with game optimization as people who play on older PCs and last gen consoles keep getting major freezes/lag so they are probably not playing as much so that puts a major dip in the playerbase

  • @meatisadelicacy said:

I don't know why it matters. You don't get anything from it, and it's not a true measure of skill. Just have fun playing the game how you want with the killers you like.

maybe he's going for the achievement. The was the only reason why I cared to get to rank one, after that I didnt really care lol

Yeah.. it's the same thing when people make their game brighter, like why play if you're just going to be on easy mode?

the only reason why I could see someone making it brighter is when a game is too damn dark. Like I dont do it but I had a few matches against Freddy and when I was in the dream world I could barely see in some maps like mothers dwelling. Then again I'm blind and have to wear glasses XD

  • @Laluzi said:

Requires survivors to be stupid and not communicate with each other. You can probably do it against some teams with a strong trap like shack window or something by a 3-gen, but otherwise this is another one for the farmers.

I like the Red Herring challenge even less. Hoping the killer follows a false noise notification twice in one trial is brutal.

Sadly even though shack traps are strong they are probably the most well known :/

  • just a few things but the biggest one of note for people is that you can no longer do the linked cosmetic glitch

  • the only thing I would add to this is that you get to keep your event items after you prestige because some of these event items are never coming back and I'd like to not loose them.

To be completely fair a lot of people just don't know. As I coincidentally mentioned in another somewhat similar thread just before this one I found out myself by going through this same thing on the official forum of the THQ-developed WWE games. Those didn't allow you to change the appearance of official WWE wrestlers either (only custom characters that players made from scratch) and everyone demanded to know why. The developers had to repeatedly explain that it wasn't their choice - they actually asked for the feature themselves, in fact - but WWE forbade it, so that was that.

I understand wanting more customization options in this game too, I mean who wouldn't want that? But it's much more complex (and legally binding) than "eh, we didn't intend for this fun glitch that people like so we're going to make sure to fix that first".

I also have to point out: NEVER buy something that's based on a glitch. It can be changed at any moment, and if you knew it was a glitch going in, no offense, but it IS a "sucks to be you" situation. I mean not that I don't have sympathy, but caveat emptor.

And yet, you had to ask

"Ok like so I understand but when there are skins of the characters that look like THIS?!?!?!"

Bhvr still has no say in the matter, they still don't the characters so they can't do whatever they want to them. So why are you posting just another pointless thread instead of contacting Capcom and negotiate a deal to add the skins you want to the game?

i mean isnt the point of forum to discuss? If you dont like the discussion move on lol. And the reason of the post was to discuss about how EVEN IF IT IS CAPCOM/KONAMI/ETC that wanted the sets linked, that it was silly due to the skins that they have in their own game lol. Calm down, get yourself some ice cream and relax haha, its just a discussion XD

  • @Sabraiz said:

Which part of the license holders having the final say of what outfits they could use for the game, goes above your head?

So what if they have ridiculous outfits in their own game, it's Capcoms property. So they can do whatever they want and decide what other companies that have gotten the right to use their characters likeness in another game series get to do with them.

So, want to complain? Direct it towards Capcom.

lol I legit said that and I quote "even if it is the license holders fault."

  • gonna keep coming back here to say this but #unlinkthesets BHVR. There is no reason to keep skins linked on original characters(at least) other than greed.

  • being able to break linked skins

  • not my chris redfield in leons RE4 jacket ;~;

Well, I just got it as a solo queue survivor...so I guess it's back? Someone used the offering.

Here is the actual math behind it.

    • There are currently 95 survivor perks and 84 killer perks.
    • Each perk has 3 tiers
    • It takes about 1.5 million BPs to level a character to level 40.
    • After level 40 it takes ~50k per level of the bloodweb if you spend it wisely so the entity takes like half the web.
    • There are 27 survivors and there are 24 killers.

This means, to get every perk on a single survivor, you would have to:

    • Level 27 survivors to level 40 at 1.5 million bloodpoints each
    • You'd get about 45 perk levels out of the required 282 on your preferred survivor (it would be 285 but i'm counting that you get 3 for free for your survivor)
    • You get 2 perks per bloodweb after level 40 (most of the time)

    This means:

    27 * 1.5 million = 40.5 million

    282 - 45 = 237 perk levels left

    237 / 2 = 118.5 = 119 (round up due to entity taking) bloodwebs needed

    119 * 50k = 5.95 million

    This is a total of:

40.5 million + 5.95 million = 46,450,000 bloodpoints to get a single survivor with all the perks, no prestige

    Now let's do the killers:

    • There are 25 killers you need to level 40 at 1.5 million bloodpoints each.
    • You get about 45 perk levels out of the required 249 for each killer (again already removed 3 for the already learned perks at level 1)
    • You get 2 perks per bloodweb after level 40 (most of the time)

    This means:

    25 * 1.5 million = 37.5 million

    249 - 45 = 204 perk levels left

    204 / 2 = 102 bloodwebs needed per killer

    102 * 50K = 5,100,000 bloodpoints per killer

    For a total of:

37.5 million + (5.1 million * 25) = 165,000,000 Bloodpoints to get every perk on every killer no prestige.

    TOTAL:

You need 46,450,000 + 165,000,000 bloodpoints to get every perk on every killer and every perk on 1 survivor. This is a total of 211,450,000 bloodpoints.

Let's say you earn an average of 25k bloodpoints perk game (survivors earn a lot less normally too), this means it would take you:

    8,458 games of DBD.

If a game of DBD lasts about 12 minutes (factoring in queue times, loading screens, etc.) It takes 1,691.6 hours to do this.

No God please no, don't show the numbers my will can't take it.

  • @bobateo said:

They really do need to do something about the grind. I had nearly 1.3 BP when the new DLC dropped. (I suspect I'm not alone) but that isn't nearly enough to unlock and advance the new Killers and new Survs. Tiers for perks need to go away and the useless perks need a pass to make them not horrible to have. Offerings either just need to be deleted from the game except for maybe BP offerings (with appropriate windows for people to spend what they spent) and the lvling process streamlined. I'm tired of playing hide n seek with the Entity.

I had 4.5 million bp saved(dailies, tomes, iridescent shards, earned bp pool, gift bp pool) and I dumped it all into Jill. I wasn't even close on getting them all. As of right now there are 6 pages(plus 2 more perks) of perks and I wasn't even halfway done when I used them all.

Love it, thank you for putting in the time and effort to talk about these points.

  • Either remove the cap or remove tiers on perks. As originally I believe that perk tiers were a thing to flesh out the blood web and make it a bit more grindy as there were only a few survivors/killers at the time but with that roster growing every 3 months, the grind will get worse and worse which could scare off potential new players.

  • Canceling out a haddonfield map offering with the green map offering, it caused all but one survivor to DC
