  • Yes it's been a bother to play killer lately since playing against optimal survivors as anything but the 3 meta killers is tedious. Even when I manage to win then every now and then, que times take longer and games are usually quite short.

For now, I'll just play survivor. At least there I've seen an improvement that my teammes aren't as big of a potatoes as they used to be.

  • dddd.png

Look at my hat, my hat is amazing.

  • Yes, it's called using it correctly insted of selfcaring every 10 seconds and giving free hits.

  • No they should not get rid of it. They should balance it out, meaning add more restrictions/conditions to purple tombstone.

Pink one is already perfect as it needs to be paired with infinite T3 and getting both to max tier takes the whole game and requires full build around it while also having a ton of counterplay.

  • That's actually by most favourite build in DBD and I use it quite often.

With correct build, it's not that hard to get all 4 surivors.

  • I had no idea this was happening. Thank you, this is as always much appreciated.

  • Try losing more until you get opponents on level you want.

Maybe your survival rare is too high without even realising it Sluzzy.

  • Depends who gets a drop on the other one, both abduct people they kill. In a straight fight, really hard to tell. Both would be throwing dangerous objects on each other so it comes down who is more precise and has deadlier projectiles.

  • Good killers in skill or in using good killers ?

Because even if you're the most skilled killer in DBD, you're losing to good, not even amazing SWF if you're playing lowist tier killer like clown.

That's just how DBD is, skill is not as important as having all the advantages beforehand.

  • There are a lot but they won't carry you by any means.

As slinger your entire focus is your power, you get everything through it. Your best bet is to improve at understaning how to use it properly, once you get really good with it, you can beat even really strong survivor teams (ofc you need to understand general killer gameplay decisions as well).

If I were to reccomend for newer slinger, proably this. Ruin, undying/surge, sloppy butcher, BBQ. It's basically meta of very strong perks on him that don't require you to think much of anything else but your chases, you can focus on them and still get a lot from your perks.

Feel free to adjust if some other perks fit you better.

  • Experience > numbers

Imagine if it was huntress vs legion. Everyone would say how huntress would eat them all 4 alive and numbres would suddently not matter just because she's not as old as Caleb.

Deathslinger is extremely deadly and clever bounty hunter who is so good at his job that he choses to bring anyone no matter how dangerous they are in alive. From the more realistic killers we have, he would be one of the most dangerous and deadly ones. I'm not saying legion has 0 chance but I highly doubt it would be the first time Caleb faced and beaten opponents with number advantage, otherwise he wouldn't survive doing what he does for so long.

  • Ah yes, the usual killer too strong and easy, survivor too hard and weak.

The classic with a pinch of denial.

  • There are quite a few ways you can go but should I recommend something meta I would go for this.

STBFL, M&A, pop, surge. Addons both green, one for reload speed and one for missed CD.

Nerfing his wall-hack isn't crippling him. It's the only thing that needs attention. Everything else if perfect for him and should never be touched.

That's maybe what you think but I've seen more then enough people wanting basically all his strong addons to be made useless right next to nerfs to basekit.

The wallhack is nothing special either. Blight has one about as strong and nobody is complaing about it anymore even when still one of his best addons and it belongs to possbily S tier killer unlike wraith who's at best high B.

  • People don't care for the fact that wraith even when now good and popular is still at best high mid tier killer.

They won't stop complaining about him until he gets at least 1 major nerf to cripple him again.

  • 💲C💲o💲S💲m💲E💲T💲i💲C💲s💲

  • I'm not worried about killers all that much. Yes many of us are very likely to go on quite a few losing streaks (which sucks) if the MMR works properly but eventually even the weak killers will settle around same mediocre survivors.

The people who are in most danger are the best killers and best survivors (SWFs ofc) who will only face each other so for the survivors it's never ending spam of only spirit, nurse, blight and these killers will only play against 4 man SWF, DS, BT, DH, unbreakable + best items.

It will be a show I'm certain. I'm looking forward to the "appreciation" discussions that will start poping up tomorrow and later on.

  • RBT is just a tool to gain pressure in any way the pig see fit. If she uses it for gen pressure and just ignores people with trap on or to pressure trapped survivors to get them killed easier since they're on a death clock. Both have scenarios where they're more useful then the other ones.

It's up to pig how she wants to use them even if it's in a way that gives he very little benefit and just hard tunnels the trapped person.

  • Yes if you're not in SWF.

If you are you can easily afford one guy just enhancing chase for your friends constantly, making it impossible for killer to build up any pressure.

Ofc you need to be really good at it and your teammates need to play around it knowing your intention otherwise you'll be wasting your time but it is extremely strong when performed correctly by a competent team.

  • We could but players don't like hard or unusual challenges. I still remeber the outry over I think the first tome where one of the final ones needed you to hook and kill all 4 survivors in the basement (if I remember correctly).

Since we all want to get through them asap to reach max rift, basically everyone wants them to be easy/simple.

  • Patch 5.2.0

    • Fixed an issue that caused zombies to reach to Discordance notification.
  • Not comparable, game is asymetrical. Besides if we were to compare, you can't expect that power role will be unable to hard forcea kill on at least 2 people if using the most cheap tactics.

Killer is just 1 person so fully utilising your skill to get results is much more consistent compared to fully utilising the same level of skill on 4 people.

Also should the mew MMR work, we can say goodbye to the era of high killstreaks since it's impossible to do when you face players of equal skill.

So no, it's not easier. It's just that ranking is a broken mess that enables it.

  • Good question, gotta test that once he's live.

  • For me it's nurse. She changes the game from loop wood simulator into fight of LOS, mindgames, predictions and fake outs on both sides.

Such a wonderful killer, I wish I met her more.

  • Depens on the power. Someone might think both powers are fun.

  • I'm just hoping I'll be able to catch a break even now and then from Hivemind of Friends. I can beat them sometimes with my main but just facing them all the time gets so annoying so fast. Makes me not want to play DBD when it's only them game after game after game.

Ehh maybe with time it'll balance out but for now I wary that I'll enjoy my games much less.

  • Yeah it would be so much better if shards were used as a reward insted of BP.

  • It's only a waste if your whole team wastes time. Ofc with your average bad solo survivors, DS isn't that great because nobody is able to hold long chase or pressure gens.

But once you actually play well and your teammates too, pressure gens a lot, manage to go on long chases etc, killer no longer has the time to wait out DS or go for 8+ hook games since he'll run out of gens before even single survivor dies.

It's amazing anti-tunneling / momentum perk. It denies killer the most optimal win stratgey, to lower the number of survivors he has to manage from 4 to 3. With enough good gameplay from all survivors and some help from DS, inevitable becomes very evitable.

  • @NekroG said:

What does this do for the rank achievements?

It stays completely the same with just change to the name from rank to grade. Otherwise nothing.

  • I think those changes are solid, a lot of his issues are adressed with them and nothing important was lost.

Who even used the portal and waited for 6s+ ? Probably people camping something be it gens or gates otherwise maybe people with bad aim waiting for survivor to stand still.

He was very close to be good and with these changes he imo will be. And even if not, that's what the next midchapter is for.

  • It's probably good as long as it works. The part that captured me the most is

"SBMM will also allow us to collect more detailed statistics for our design team to work with (e.g. seeing how a perk or power performs among the top 5% of players). This data will allow us to make more meaningful tweaks and balance decisions in the future."

I wonder if they'll ever deliver on that.

  • Have you considered playing around it ? Like killers play around at least 8 perk each game that each survivor might or might not have.

  • Shouldn't that be like brown ?

  • The perks don't need rework but buffs. Their effects are clever but just not good enough and too situational. Just buff them and they'll be fine.

  • Hmm, how about don't die and kill them all.

Other then that, watch youtubers or streamers, that's probably the fastest way to learm something usefull.

  • For one, devs can't add more then just 2 zombies, their newly born AI and FPS seemingly can't handle it. While developing Nemesis, one ultra rare addon originally spanwed more zombies but it was scrapped because it made matches more unstable or something.

Also survivors really don't lime mechanics that passively kill them without killer's imput. Zombies right now are in pretty good spot. Such changes like you suggest would need a another bunch of small rework changes otherwise it would be really annoying to deal with them.

  • Are they ? I wouldn't know since last time I saw a mori was before the mori rework.

  • Yes and it's probably not gonna fix anything.

Ok, i´ll give you the benefit of the doubt and will spend some considerable time playing them. Maybe i´m totally wrong and Twins aren´t as weak as i think.

    I hope you'll have fun.

So Twins are super strong, but no one wants to play them.

    Makes sense

    /not

Probably because their playstyle is so different from most normal killers. Just like hag who is very strong but quite rare to encounter.

People tend to gravitate to as simple as possible killers who are also as strong as possible. Thus the usual outcry over relative simple strong killers = wraith, freddy, spirit etc

As twins, you have to constantly manage two characters and know when and how to use them properly, make constant decision on when it's good time to slug and do it without beiing slow or missing too, you have to utilise camping well which people dislike on both sides otherwise you'll get more inefficent with your time management and probably one of the biggest contributor imo to low twins pick rate, missing as victor and getting crushed feels so incredibly bad. Killers hate when survivors bully them and baby victor (pun intended) is very easy to bully as new victors will miss and get crushed thus gen rushed all the time.

But then when you see twins mains (as rare as they are) or very experienced players who know how to play twins and how they operate, rating twins, they always rare them quite high, usually A tier or very high B tier.

Considering all that, I don't think it's weird that people wouldn't play twins very much even when they're strong. Just like nurse who used to be much easier to play but then dropped a lot in popularity because devs made her more punishing when you make a mistake.

    I mean.

It's just common sense to hook a survivor to counter their perks. It's why you go for Adam first (if he exists in a match) or expect Dead Hard from David.

I agree that expecting Bill to be UB is the most common example though.

Poor Bills and Adams, always getting hooked first.

  • Nurse, she goes through everything no matter what you do so the potencial is limitless.

Vs spirit I can at least throw down god pallet and be mostly safe, even generic ones can help if you read her right.

  • Yeah no, that basically never ever happens, at least compared to killer giving hatch.

When you meet competent SWF, they're there to make your game as miserable as possible most of the time or they'll just extremely efficient and just leave. Solos usually won't get results anywhere near crushing a killer.

I don't think I've seen a single survivor in almost 3,5k hours do that to me.

So basic attack cooldown is 3 seconds? That would explain why I have been feeling like tentacle into M1 is faster than only using tentacle when you are at a loop, even if it is only 0.5 seconds.

Yeah it would seem so. It's basically about 4 stacks of STBFL with added ability to move a little so it's actually better then I thought.

I really thought basic attack was 2,5s and not 3s, I wonder where I found that original wrong information. Nevermind, this was very educational making me realise how wrong I was about basic attack CD for so long.

  • @ExcelSword said:

Thanks for the correction on the tentacle, 2.5 seconds then. And so the wiki is wrong then? I assume it doesn't get updated much.

Also I know STBFL doesn't work on powers.

It is not, people who run it are very active with all their testing of DBD's old or new stuff. Chapters usually and all info about them (even the deep technical one) gets posted there in matter of a few days with each launch

Ofc always take everything with grain of salt but I'm very confident that info you find on the wiki is accurate.

  • It's 2,5s exactly like normal basic M1. But you can move slightly while in that cooldown is it's kind of better then average M1 but not by much.

STBFL work on only basic M1 attacks, no powers, meaning you recover 40% faster.

EDIT - sorry, basic attack seems to be exactly 3s. I always thought it was 2,5s, huh interesting.

  • My favourite build in all of DBD. I use it all the time very often killing everyone, it's great.

  • I don't particually love it but overall I don't mind none of them happening to me.

Slugging - cool, as long as my teammates don't all get slugged too, it's a free hook state.

Tunneling - gotta practise those looping skillz anyway.

Camping - do gens you over-altruistic fools or at least learn how and when to save properly.

  • Hopefully this Halloween.
