I don't know, tbh I doubt Freddy will be good either. Like look at Ghost Face? What was the thought process on that... His power doesn't even work, and they didn't see that in the testing phase?
I guess we'll have to wait and see...
Yeah Freddy probably won't be very good still but at least to me his new power seems like a lot of fun.
I guess that devs were over afraid of giving killer good stealth ability when they deisgned GF. Good thing we have PTBs. Now he has chance to be playable when he releases if they buff/fix him accordingly.
-
Yes we do yet we're still not getting one.
-
Yes pretty much everything you said is true. Survivors can rush the games very easily unless you play meta killer and perks like old MoM are stupidly strong in right hands.
People just disregard these issues beacuse "not every game is like that" and "you're just a bad killer" but in reality, a lot of games are like that and with some low tier killers you just can't play better beacuse they're dependant on survivors playing bad.
Unfortunately I don't see devs adding new objectives any time soon even when they are extremely needed. Maybe new Freddy will be good enough to be considered meta but most like not.
Yet it's true that DBD is constantly getting better health wise. Devs have implimented many amazing changes during this last year so there is still hope yet. I'd say that you just have to wait, maybe give yourself longer break from DBD and come back mainly when new patches come out.
-
Make devour hope's hex totem inactive until it has 1 token so survivors can't break it before you even get first hook.
-
Devs have their own brains you know even if it doesn't appear with some decision they make. They LISTEN to feedback, not impliment it directly into the game. It doesn't matter if said person is maining one side as long as it's a good idea that improves DBD's health.
-
These people riping MoM are so pathetic. At least now it's forcing survivors to gain that bonus health state with a little bit of effort rather then gaining it utterly for free by just playing normally.
-
Most of the community actually doesn't use forums thou. I'd be suprised if all forums ammounted to more then 40% of all DBD players.
-
I was really happy they answered my question. Bubba needs some love asap.
-
Quentin's scary face OP please nerf or RIOT !!!
-
Moris are fine let us killers have nice things too. Enjoy the cool animation and let killers be killers once in a while.

That is a fair point, although a lot of swf are potatoes.
You've answered your own post by this.
DBD is still survivor favor but that doesn't mean that survivors will win most of their matches but rather that if they do their best and tryhard with best build and rush gens while also are good at stealth and looping/mindgaming then even best killers like nurse can barely keep up.
But as you said we have A LOT of bad survivors in DBD and that's main reason why surviovrs aren't receiving any seriously hard nerfs.
It's a difficult thing to balance since DBD's playerbase skill levels are so spread. You can't hard nerf pro SWF groups beacuse mediocre players will suffer significantly yet letting them have their reign isn't good either.
I think that main reason why is DBD still survivor favored is the minimum lenght of the matches. Games can last far too short if survivors focus only on gens. So that's why we need another important objective for survivors to do. There is nothing worse as killer then having a match that last 5-8 minutes. I hope that devs can figure fair way to make games longer while keeping it fun for both sides.
-
Ok but also give killers 4k bonus BP for each survivor that escapes if we're so keen on rewarding failure.
You can call it distraction but in reality you've failed to evade the killer and also was unlucky enough to meet hard camper with bad teammates. It's annoying but not every match is supposed to end to your liking, sometimes you just have to accept bitter loses no matter how unfair you feel they were.
If you want to reward survivors for their failure then it's only fair to reward killers the same way. And saying that killers don't deserve it is tottaly the same for survivor hanging on that hook. He also didn't do anything himself to deserve those distraction BP yet you want to reward him just for not killing himlsef. It's like saying that we should reward each player by bonus BP just becasue they didn't go AFK at the start of the match.

The more I play it, the more I love it. I don't even care that I'm dying 75% of the time.
Really ? I'm probably meeting some seriously bad hunters since I survive about 2/3 of all my matches if I'm not trolling for chalenges.
But yes It's gotten so much better from it's old self. I didn't think I'll buy it back but devs really nailed the rework.
-
I love all of mods and devs so it's very tied but if I had to chose best one from both it would probably be these two.
Best moderator is Peanits. He's been here from the start and all that time he's been very active and extremely nice. I also loved his old avatar, probably the best I've ever seen on forums (with exception of crowned Orion nurse).
Best dev is Horvath because of his superior pen spinning techniques.

Are you planning on "updating" any other killer's power now that you've solved Legion's problems ?
For example poor Leatherface could use some "updating".

So Killer-sided of you.
Killers get perks like NoEd and BBQ which change a losing game to a win, and survivors have to absolutely modify their playstyle to play around these perks, and have no ways to counter it.
Yet for you just because a survivor has a one-use perk like DS it has to carry an extra penalty?
It's a good thing you're not in charge of DBD's balance.
Now that is some extreme survivor bias. Saying that BBQ and Noed don't have counters, just wow. Maybe learn what locker and totem is before you state such ignorant comments.
-
No they should work against him like they do against wraith or pig who suffer from them as much as he will.
-
Yes imao new deathgarden is so much better then it used to be.
-
If you don't like giving killers ability to prepare then just last second switch. Easy solution.
-
Rework of addons is all she needs. Learn to use stealth against her and juke during chase.
-
There already is DBD 2.
The one and only.
Deathgarden

So, by your logic, killer can dodge and survivor can't
So im forced to play against the same toxic killer
Yes you have to. Toxicity is strongly rooted in almost all DBD matches and if you want to play DBD you will face tons of toxic players and you can't do anything about it except growing thicker skin. If you can't handle it then DBD isn't a game for you.
So if toxicity is such a big deal to you then either switch to beiing killer main and make yourself a list of players you dodge (at red ranks literally every game has toxic survivors) or quit DBD. Maybe in future there will be some new feature to combat your problem but currently there is none.
And giving survivors ability to dodge won't solve the problem or even help game's health so it's not happeing for many reasons already stated.

It would be fine if survivors can see what killer is.
So if it is a doctor you can use calm spirit just like killers, if you see 4 toolboxes you use franklin's
And what stops killers to switch at the last second like survivors do with items ? Every killer could just first pick wraith and then switch to nurse with already made build and addons.
You want something but you don't think about it enough. System is made how it is now because it makes kind of sence. Survivor items without ultra rare addons don't have enough impact on the match unlike killer's addons and the choice of played killer.
And also there was a time when survivors could see through steam name of which killer they went against. Almost every survivors had on their steam profile several pages of killer names they dodge because they didn't like the way they played. Thankfully it got changed since the amount of dodging survivors was unreasonbly high.

Simple.
You can leave the lobby if a survivor have 250+ Ping
Ever heard of lagswitching ? Or generally unstable connections ?
Also DBD is designed for killer to react on what survivors bring into the lobby, sideefect of that is that they can cherrypick their matches. But if survivors were allowed to see killer then it would be impossible to get games as specific killers such as nurse since many survivors suck and they don't want to face them.
Through DBD's history it was never possible to see which killer you go against and even then survivors during specific periods of DBD's lifespam managed to find dozens of way to dogde players they didn't like because of their made up rules.
If you think that giving survivors ability to dodge killers is good for the game's health then you are delusional. Better change would be to give small timeout punishments for dodging.
For example a system that resets every 24 hours that allows killer to dodge a lobby 5 times without penalty and then they have to wait 5 min before they can create another lobby/join a game.
Just and idea but certainly better then most of your demands.
-
As effective as survivors make them. If survivors reward camping/tunneling killer by swarming them then it's not punished at all but rather rewarder.
Way you punish these killers is by beiing smart survivor who always predicts the worst outcome. In other words you do only gens until hooked survivor is very near death or you are 100% that killer left the hook and it's safe to go for them.
Unfortunately for you most of survivor player base isn't that smart and rather demands from devs to impliment passive punishemts for legit killler playstyles rather then learning how to git gud themselfs.
-
There are like 7 ways to counter it. Naming the easiest one is just to hide in locker when killer picks someone up (lockers block aura reading now). Just scout forums a little and you'll find people explaining how to play against it.
And argument everyone runs it so it's OP and needs nerf isn't a good one. If it was Self care would have gotten hard core nerfed or completely reworked loooong time ago.
-
And who's fault is it that you got found after EGC ? How about predicting killer's thinking and if you fail to find the hatch first hatch then either stay at the exit gate and open it immediately when it gets closed or wait for killer to make his first partol there and then open it. If gates spawn too close to each other then bad luck, it's getting adjusted to not happen.
Either way killer is actually killing you by downing you and letting entity take you. It's the same as repoting killers for purely slugging since they are ignoring DBD's main way of killing survivors. You can whine about it but it's not getting changed so get over yourself.
-
No but you can play killer where you can enjoy toxic-less survivor behaviour.
Ohh wait.
-
If I remember correctly they go on special sale offer from time to time that allows them to be bought with IS. Or at leat that's how it used to be I think.
-
I used to do this when I randomly equipped agitaion and had afk survivor. It was so much fun chasing while beiing fast with afk survivor on my back.
Unfortunatelly these days survivors don't afk as much. It's far more common to just see them dc insted.

This is true. If you wanted, you could get one stack each time someone gets downed. If all four survivors are running MoM, that could make it really difficult for the killer to get a hook while also building up MoM stacks.
That would be time for my basement leatherface with Mad grit to shine.
-
Lol endgame killer sided. That's so rich after the years of free hatches beiing handed to bad survivors. Now killers who do really well are rewarded by having real chance of getting last survivor insted of beiing forced into standoffs.
-
Why was remember me nerfed in such major way ?
-
I don't see a point in that really. If you get found in such situation you are dead either way since 1 or 2 hits don't matter as long as killer can follow you.
I'd say bitter murmur is far more unfair if it works with closing the hatch as well. But people just love to just complain about noed to get it nerfed just out of principle.
-
Will you be reworking survivor/killer endgame perks or do you consider them all fair and useful with this new feature in mind ?

I'll just ruin the game for survivors for a bit to see those playernumbers drop alot more. If harsher DC punishes come then I'll enjoy exploiting that too. It's about sending a message.
Exactly, whenever playing DBD since this new mini chapter I'll certainly shove far more games of insidious basement Leatherface so I don't have to deal with 4 free instaheals BS from MoM and thank to new ranking system I'll even derank to have less stressful games.
Win win situation for me and not so much for surviors I'll play.
-
Good thing I haven't been playing much lately since if MoM gets into the game my break from DBD will be significantly longer.
-
New DS is great, new ranking rules are badly designed as always, Plague is fun to verse and play as and we got our first thick lady survivor who can smash you in the face out of the locker even when you stand half map away from it.
Pretty good patch so far.

If giving out your aura wasnt a negative, Nurses, BBQ, and Murmur wouldnt be ran as much as they are.
Bitter murmur is only ever used in engame build with Noed so that's not a good comparison (or on nurse but that is a whole another balance discussion).
BBQ give bonus points and enables reinishiating chases after hooking so that you don't lose as much of your preassure as killer while still having like 6 counters. It's utility perk that doesn't win games by itself neither does it hinder smart survivors who can avoid it easily.
Nurses is used on killers who have synergies with it like Myers so that can get free hits. There are killers who benefit more from it so they run it more often but against survivors who know where to heal it's once again useless since they won't heal besides LOS blockers. It punishes poor play by survivors which is main way killers win games.
Revealing yourself with MoM is effect that happens after you get free instaheal once per game and from my understanding it deactivates after you get downed again. So yeah your aura will be revealed for few minutes per game but you'll also get free instaheal perk each game. I certainly don't look forward to facing 4 SWF survivors with 4 instaheals and 4 MoM.
So once again busted SWF bullying perk that isn't very useful for solos. Just what we need, more broken SWF perks to bully low tier killers.
-
Lol giving out your aura isn't a negative. It's such a skilless perk that once again rewards survivors for failing at chases and rewards them without any real counterplay.
I don't mind giving survivors strong perks but they either need to be difficult to use and not automatic and uncounterable like this or they need real disadvantages and not aura reading which does pretty much nothing. Finding survivors was never a problem for killers so how can aura reading be considered a weakness for Entity's sake.
If it for example slowed their gen repair speed by some decent % then I would consider it fair. If you are good at chases you can waste more time with it then you would lose by having that repair debuff and it would prevent it from beiing OP if all 4 survivors use it.
Current version is braindead uncounterable free instaheal once per game without real disadvantage. And what's worst it punishes M1 killers the most. How are we ever gonna get out of nurse/billy meta if we keep printing anti M1 perks that benefit poor play by survivors. I wish more perks were like deah hard. In hands of skilled survivor it's the best exhaustion perk imao.
I really hope that devs take their time and think this perk through since I don't want to wait another 2-3 years before they decide it's OP like DS (not such much but pretty close) was and give it rework.

Hillbillys lost his too
At least this isn't as annoying as when Leatherface's chainsaw lost it's sound. That was really irritating for me at least.
-
I would agree with this change if devs also implimented sound notification when all totems are broken so that solos don't try to find totems when there are actually none left.
Overall it seems pretty balanced considering that survivors set the pace of the game and totems are super easy to find just randomly.

how does it make sense that you just magically get LESS sick because your body gets impaled on a rusty hook?
Or not getting sick by literally lifting survivor fully soaked in contaminated vomit. That's why I'm so happy that these finally work as they should.

It can't come to live, there's no way... But even the fact that it actually got made is astonishing, It's as if the Devs have learned nothing from DS.
I certainly hope so since this version of it is busted AF. Like revealing yourself to the killer after you already healed is supposed to be it's negative part ? I personally think it's there for survivor to teabag killer across the map since they just got progress towards their free invulnerability.
It actually promotes stupid gameplay of getting hit aimlessly by the killer and even worse getting rewared for it while also forcing killer to tunnel so they don't have to deal with it multiple times per match.
-
I though this was a joke that such busted perk could appear right after long awaited DS nerf so I hope that nothing like that happens. It has 0 real disadvantages and only give very strong repeating benefit.
Like imagine if killers got a perk that gave them instadown on their next hit after they landed 3 hits. And survivors should get such stupidly OP perk multiplied by 4 ?
No way, even devs can't be so dense to add such busted perk to the live build.
-
It isn't like Noed isn't either. Both are poweful endgame perks that fit the game perfectly.
-
I completely get you, we need devs to punish DCers much harder and faster.
Also this is completely normal player decline for DBD, it's been like this since release that player counts are rather low before new DLCs drop or before new events. I wouldn't worry about it.
Soon™ all those problems you mentioned will be resolved.
-
I'd rather nerf SWF directly since from solo perspective of mine OoO is one of my most beloved perks to combo with sole survivor. Don't nerf such amazing perk, better nerf the real issue that makes it broken in some scenarios and that's SWF.
-
If exhaustion perk prevents you from going down does it mean yo needed it as a crutch to survive that chase and not go down for failing at your job as survivor ? And those work all the game and not just at the end while also can't be disabeled with standart gameplay unlike Noed.
Maybe you shouldn't call semi-decent late game killer perks crutches and realise that a lot of survivor perks are far more wothy to be called a "crutch".

What rank are you, survivor? Seriously?
every red rank survivor i play with knows how to manipulate this mechanic.
If you are running AWAY FROM LEGION, yes, he just needs to walk backwards and go "corner this way, so they gotta cut right"
If you see him moonwalking, and circle back around to the loop you just left and connect the LOS, the chase picks back up. It really really really really is not hard. You just got to be confident.
Ive seen this done, and done it myself. Try it.
You're still saying it's so easy but it isn't. Yes I may not play enough survivor to know how to counter everything but even so I'm at least decent.
But still it it's so easy then teach me. I really want to see how you do it. Invite me on steam and show my in Kill your friends mode how to do this tactic.
