Okay I am wrong I think its the eight blade that you have hit with ricochet where you get the benefit.

Probably makes more sense. Good that I use the addon more for the bounces than for the slightly confusing bonus effects xD

Like how I read the add-on you just need to hit one ricochet hit and then hit them seven times more anyway and it will give you the effect. So the one that gives the effect does not even need to be a ricochet throw.

Oh really? That would explain a lot, I thought that only counts for bounces xD

I'm not speaking english natively, so I'm sure I don't understand every addon perfectly :D

  • That would be nice, I really don't know if it just appears like that to me, or if it's really bugged xD

    @Shroompy

(I forgot to tag the message xD)

  • @Wezqu said:

He has two add-ons that can give you two lacerations with hit. Edge of Revival Album if you hit the blade further than 20 meters away or Trick Blades that can give you three possible effects every eight ricochet hits. You either get two lacerations with the hit, you see auras of any survivors 12m away or you get additional style point. What effect you get is totally random.

So yes you can get two lacerations with one hit by using Trick Blades.

I know that, but sometimes it feels like I hit a visually missed knife and give one lecaration qith that and then hit the bouncing knife giving another one. Maybe it's legit a miss and then the effect of the bounce, idk xD

    Good Day DbD Community,
As i thought and always say; Killers are way to OP!
I always see Killers against me Solo Q and Team without any Perks and Addons, destroying everyone in No Time and then they claim ''you're just bad'' or ''ez'' and many more examples.., what is wrong with @BHVR!? don't they realize that they make every Killer OP now? where's the FUN? ah, i know it should just be FUN for Killers!
Because Killers always want to Kill everyone every round they play WHICH IS NOT OKAY! Killers need to get PUNISHED! NERFED or WHATEVER IT NEEDS! it's getting out of Hand every Update! ENOUGH is ENOUGH!

The New Map is Survivor Sided? Where? It's so damn Killer friendly that most Killer's i play against have the ''VIP Wristband'' offering to get Kills easyier as on usual maps (especially Myers with Scratched Mirror Addons).

KILLERS NEED NERFS NOT BUFFS FOR GOD DAMN SAKE!

First of all"always see people go against me soloq and team, destroying us in no time without any perks or addons":

That is entirely on you, perks and addons are a huge part of this game. Depending on the killer it's not even playable or very painful, espeacially if you as survivor stack ds, ub, gen speed or flashlights ontop of each other.

If he was able to kill you quickly, then the difference between you in terms of knowlegde and ability to use that knowledge was simply to big. (Of course that's the general awnser because you gave us no examples in any form lol).

    Second:

They literally just said that they would be nerfing blight, they also talked about a possible way to give lockers locks when playing against huntress (even tho that's so stupid, because they already waste a lot of time reloading, somtimes even dropping chases entirely for that).

Also they nerfed ken multiple times.

They accidently (?) nerfed wesker last patch.

They wouldn't do this if they wanted killers winning every time.

(There are probably even better examples).

    Third:

no one in their right mind would play trickers delusions without being forced to. Even for scratch mirror myers I'm pretty sure that midwich is a better option.

If you actually saw people playing that, then they ether did a challenge OR were insanely masochistic.

Ps: if you give any of us any meaningful examples maybe we can talk.

  • @coldflame said:

having gen grabs be a ping check that survivors can become immune to frame 1 by releasing the gen makes the feature inconsistent and pointless against competent players whilst overly punishing bad ones

either gen grabs should be a consistent punishment for letting the killer get in range on gen and have a ~0.5s window after leaving gen where theyre available or they shouldnt exist at all

I would be fine with it if they at least gave me the m1 that they are forcing me to do. Sadly they somehow managed to cancel my grab and then let me hit through the survivor at the gen xD

Ive been wondering how to deal with survivors when they reach those small boulder loops with the 1 pallet between them lol its like she gets disarmed while near those since it takes too long to pull the hatchet out even for a quick toss.

I assume you mean the mac millain ones?

Well Idk what a Coconut or Maxx could do there, but at least I would ether try to mindgame and hit them pixel perfect while they run around a corner (I'd ether throw very high or low depending on the bolder, so if it's thinner on the top or bottom) OR I'd simply force it. It would most likely just be a battle if you pick up the hatchet while the survivor throws the palett or not.

That being said on the stone loops at the edge of autohaven you can throw through a gap at the bottom between bolder and palette xD

    Oh PS:

I'm not a chase-huntress I play mostly with long shots and crossmaps if possible, so I probably don't know everything you can do with her xD

Nice. I feel i used to be good with huntress but now can't seem to hit someone to save my life lol like my hand will literaly just jerk to the side for some reason. But with deathslinger i find his speed of pulling up the gun, and firing whenever without having to charge for projectile speed, work really well at most loops. And depending on what gun cosmetic im using my aim goes from 100-20% lol. The latest bloodmoon skin's gun has a realllly good iron sight on it.

Well I admit that I use a crossair so I don't really pay any mind to the sight of deathslinger xD

Also huntress needs an increadible amount of musclememory, it feels like I forget how to aim with her after just a few days of not playing her. I need around 1-2 hours of games then to come back in. Also springtrap kills every skill I have with her, that's why I play him even less than I'd normally do xD

  • Generally I find huntress the easiest to aim and hit, additionally I'd say that trickster is also pretty good to aim and hit with now that I play him more :D

  • @Duncan_Ellis said:

Is anyone playing other killers during the event?

I think I've seen him and Mina all day and thats it.

While I kinda main Trickster at the moment I also play other killers sometimes. I played billy, ken, nurse, blight, bubba, demogorgon and ST Vecna xD

Oh also I'm cursed or something because I close to 12 hook (most of the time 11 or 10) about 70% of my games. Normally I play more efficient than this xD

  • @DarkStrife said:

Killer mains, what would happen if today all current survivor mains would quit? Like all current ones.

I wouldn't play for a while until it's sorted out. While I find survivor fun from time to time it's not that much fun for me that I would carry the game then to stay alive. I have a lot other games I can play while I wait.

Not to mention that this will never happen :D

Yeah so far I have not seen repeats after about 3-4 matches today it was four. I did edit the earlier post to give you the link to Behavior's own stat tracker you can check there your match history and other stats if you are interested of that.

I did use it, that's why I was able to say that I got badham with 4 games between it and rpd with 5 xD

  • @Wezqu said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4067612#Comment_4067612

I am not saying that its not possible to get the same map more but I don't think recently I have got the same map than having at least three maps between if there was not offering used. Like don't take what I said as a fact its just what I have observed while gathering those match detales.

Oh okay, I just know that there should be a system that is supposed to keep them from repeating, but I don't know the details. So I would believe you that it's every 4 maps, espeacially because it sounds like a reasonable number xD

  • @Wezqu said:

In my recent matches have not even got RPD or Eyrie. Badham got once and repeats happened only after there was four matches in between in different maps. There is a topic few post under this about Map RNG and you can check the full variation of my maps there if interested. There is currently 80 of my recent match maps listed there.

Well I didn't know that you only get the same map every 4 games at maximum, but at least it feels like too much. I actually had badham after exactly 4 matches in my recent matches, rpd after 5.

Maybe it feels worse because I despice those maps with a passion xD

(I will look into you post :D)

I have been playing trickster a lot since he first dropped, and the most recent rework is the only time I have seriously considered permanently dropping him and not coming back.
He just in general feels so much worse to play, he feels so insanely sluggish and like you need to do absurdly more work for the same effect as before. It feels like he was given 1 or 2 decent buffs but it is joined by so many nerfs that I honestly don't see the point. Even the rounds I am winning feel like I am not having any fun in doing so. I keep thinking if I keep giving him time I will get used to it and then it will come back to me but- that is honestly not the case.
I really hate how he feels. I think I hate him now, which makes me really sad because according to the stats he is like my first or second most played killer.

Well I for my part have really fun with him, that being said I'm not a trickster main.

I started playing him more since the rework now and he feels pretty good for me, I'm also a huge off his sounds (I've red somewhere that his rank up sounds like you win in lotto, it's just too funny for me xD) except the sound I also like the idea of ranking up to get stronger with him.

I also admit that highwalls and stones are basically your death, but it's the same with huntress and deathslinger so nothing new for me (I played huntress more than anything else) :D

  • @coldflame said:

so many maps are auto-dodge for certain killers at this point that the penalty seems superflous, you dont get enough dodges to avoid the penalty so you end up having to wait

either killer needs to get more dodges (maybe killer dependent?) or the dodge penalty just needs to disappear entirely. having to wait for a while isnt going to stop anyone from dodging, its just an annoyance

No thank you, honestly it should be even more annoying.

You are not supposed to leave games randomly, and not having a penality simply doesn't work how the past has shown. There's nothing more annoying as a survivor than having a mate with the mental strength of a twig, leaving at any inconvenience and making you lose instantly. At the same time it's funny as killer to have people leaving instantly because you win instantly, but after a few times it gets really old and is more annoying than anything else. Killers leaving is almost worst, because you end the game instantly for no reason in most cases.

Ether play what you get or don't queue up, making the penality easier or go away completely is not the way.

Also map-offerings where nerfed because 90% of people just used them to get a map that's simply stupid to play for the other side. Now guess what would happen with your idea: "The game as huntress? - Skip", "Mothers dwelling as pig? - Skip", "Midwich as Survivor? - Skip", "Rotten field as Survivor? - Skip". So you would never play xD

  • @TicTac said:

For some reason i need the top 3, but more are also appreciated.

Its kinda about whats neccessary for their viable playstyle. So Billy curving counts, but some fancy Wesker techs which are not really neccesary are less important. But it would be still interesting to know.

What exactly do you mean with "mechanically challenging"? Do you mean complex as in you need a deep knowledge of the killer to use him right, or do you mean it's hard to do as in you have to have good musclememory as example?

  • @SpellCasterNav said:

I played Trickster before the rework and I feel he's really weak in comparison to before. A lot of players will stop playing with him. Especially in the new map. The meta against him is simply hold W and pre-drop god pallets. I always have a hard time catching up to survivors after the rework. And that didn't happen before the rework. And if the survivor you're chasing uses Lithe, Sprint Burst or any other exaustion perk, which are very common, you'll never catch up. Trickster didn't have many players before this rework and now he'll lose a lot of these players, like me for instance. Please, If you don't want to revert this bad rework, at least make a common addon for him that makes him like he was before the rework (4.6m/s, 8 blades to damage survivors, has 44 blades by base, faster blade throwrate and less hinder when in throwing state), similar to the addons that Myers and Freddy Krueger have that make them with their pre-rework Power. Otherwise, I'm done with Trickster. Not only he was stronger and more fun before the rework, but he was far more friendly to new players who wanted to test him. And again, if you don't want to revert the rework, at least make this addon for more casual players, please.

I personally feel like he's stronger and on top of that more fun. That being said, I'm not a trickster main xD

So, I have been watching significantly more Killer content on YouTube and a phrase I've heard a few times when a Killer is looking for a Survivor is "I just saw a Crow return!"

What does that mean? Return from where? And if they know where, how do they know how long the crow was gone for? Does it matter?

Can't a crow that I startled as a Survivor land anywhere on the map?

The only thing I can understand is if you see a crow take off perhaps there's a Survivor nearby but please explain "returns" to me. I am so confused and honestly never used crows to track anyone since as Killer, I startle them as well right?

    Pretty simple really:

Honestly no clue if their initial position is random or not, but I believe so. Well no matter if it's random or not, if you make a crow fly off it will respawn a short time later again on the exact same spot - I think it was after 15 seconds.

So a crow respawning means there was a player 15 seconds ago (could be you or a survivor. Some powers also trigger them near you like deathslingers shots). If you now look further in this direction you could see more birds respawning and with that you know the general direction that the survivors ran.

Well obviously if you see a crow fly off far away and it's not you as killer it has to be a survivor. Crow are actually pretty simple if you know the trick :D

  • @bigphil0005 said:

The 4.4 nerf is making him so rough to play now. 4.4 for someone like huntress, because 1 hatchet does 1 health state. They want you to hit people and kick stuff for style points but its much harder to get a M1. He just feels super weak to me now.

I'm not a trickster main and normally play huntress if I play ranged most of the time. For me he's pretty fun with the new style system, the addons changes and generally the fact he only needs 6 knifes now. That being said some loops are obviously pretty horrible now and he tranverses slower, but that's okay xD

I agree that a bad survivor match sucks, not that it sucks worse but getting rolled and struggling desperately against a losing situation isn't the most fun or engaging thing. Can feel like you're trying to beat back the ocean with a tennis racket.

The killer being the more 'active' role (in terms of changing the gamestate immediately and directly) does allow for more avenues to come back, yes, so I think it comes down to what you find more difficult. A feeling of hopelessness that is at least over relatively quickly (getting stomped as survivor), or a feeling of humiliation that at least has a chance of a comeback (getting stomped as killer). I find the latter a tougher pill to swallow simply because it tends to last longer. It's close though, because at least as killer if you're outmatched there's time to learn, whereas being outmatched as survivor can be tough learn from if it's just a slaughter.

Well I have the funny situation that I play survivor super rarely if ever, so I really don't care much about it if I win. Means in situations like this it's a bit annoying but I don't care really about the lose espeacially because it's quickly.

Also Killer is my mainrole and I play mostly for winning within my own mindset. So I play with tunneling and camping if I get offered the chance and try to take the most efficient opportunities, but I don't force it too much. That means I hate losing in case of killer and that makes me hate being stomped as killer much much more. At the same time my own tendency to play efficient makes me understand being slugged and tunneled more as survivor and reduces my hate in that case even more xD

Yeah idk, I feel like my adhd is a huge component in that because I usually really obsess about specific things and everything else is irrelevant for me :D

(Oh also I'm german and my thoughs are often really scattered when writting, so I will surely have some spelling errors or forgoten words in my texts)

  • I think it's probably survivor with a huge "but". So:

If you have a killer that absolutely destroys you as a survivor you don't really have the chance to come back. Espeacially when he decides to slug 3 of you and down you again over and over again. But here's the "but" you ether make gens and force the killer to down you in which you're dead in 4 minutes, or you just let yourself bleed out after being slugged directly.

As killer you don't get that easy chance of giving up. If you can't catch the survivors you will be stuck for potentially a hour, you simply don't have the ability to bleed out or something.

(The things I say base on the goal to not get a matchmaking penality. Keep in mind that I don't really use the abandon feature so it could be that forgot something on any side).

To me, the new Vecna is lot like Pinhead or Pyramidhead. They are strong killers when played at a higher skill level. (And in Vecnas case, an understanding of survivor movement and map layout.) It's extremely difficult to learn their power in customs because bots are extremely good at dodging their attacks. So you end up missing tons of shots in public matches and survivors getting smug and cocky and gens flying, which is extremely humbling and unfun. I can only imagine a higher mmr killer going against extremely good survivors, getting completely demolished because they keep missing every one of Vecnas vine attacks.

And that's kind of where I am on the new Vecna. Yes, streamers with lots of hours are zipping through shots and nailing people in every chase, but the average player IS going to struggle to use his kit more effectively. His powers are not as easily accessible as someone like ghoul. I predict it might be one of those situations where survivors in higher mmr want him nerfed, but over time you won't see a ton of killers playing him because of the higher skill ceiling.

I don't believe he needs a nerf. There is an argument to be made that an extremely good player will make vine attacks that are next to impossible to dodge without something like sprintburst, but I don't think that's going to be common enough to warrant a nerf.

I see what you mean. I actually thought he would be insanely strong, but that's only in theorie, he is actually pretty dodgable with a good reactiontime and unpredicable move. That being said he is insanely fun I feel like, even if I miss a lot.

Also bot are actually pretty bad at dodging him xD

Ah, Vecna PTB day is coming soon! I can’t wait to see the classic BHVR DLC release SOP one more time:

    1. Release weak PTB killer to lower expectations.
    2. Mega-buff for Live release so he destroys everyone.
    3. Wait for everyone to buy the DLC.
    4. Gut him with nerfs 4 weeks later so he joins Springtrap's party

Also, shoutout to the new Survivor perks for being absolutely useless on arrival.

I can tell you that he is already an absolut monster, I don't believe that he will release with that strength. Of course people simply don't know the counterplay yet (which will be similar to nurse probably), but it's safe to assume that he will still be strong then in his current state.

Introduction:As a dedicated veteran with over 9,000 hours in Dead by Daylight, I have closely followed the game’s growth. To ensure long-term vitality, I propose a system that empowers players to manage "matchmaking fatigue" while encouraging diverse gameplay.

Proposed Feature 1: Weekly Rotation Ban

    • Concept: A developer-curated list of 1-2 Killers and 3-4 Perks that are temporarily restricted in matchmaking each week.
    • Goal: To break the static meta and provide a fresh experience by forcing players to move away from "meta-slave" builds.

Proposed Feature 2: Strategic Ban Token System

    • Concept: A consumable item (Ban Token) that allows players to exclude a specific Killer from their matchmaking pool for one match.
    • How to Earn (Encouraging Player Participation):
      1. Survivor Reward: Earned upon a "Consecutive Escape Streak" (e.g., 3-5 escapes in a row), rewarding skillful play.
      2. Role Balance Reward: Earned by playing as a Killer (or the less-queued role), providing a direct incentive to reduce overall queue times.
      3. Economy: Can also be purchased with a significant amount of Iridescent Shards to ensure it remains a "valuable resource" rather than a spamable tool.

Conclusion:This system doesn't just block content; it incentivizes healthy play patterns. By rewarding Killers and skillful Survivors with the power to "veto" their most stressful encounters, BHVR can significantly reduce player burnout and collect high-quality data on "Perceived Unfairness.

Version 1 is just horrible, I mean who don't love having his main banned for a week, right? I'm sorry but I take any meta any day if it means playing what I want lol.

Version 2 is also meh, not a huge fan of banning things straight up from the matchmaking. It just shifts the frustration to the people that suffer with their killer from a high amount of bans.

And i dont mean why arent you already burned out, i have fun playing it after 1000 of hours.

I just wanted to know what is your goal. Do you aim to unlock all perks, to P100 a character ot are just playing without a clear goal in mind?

I personally try to finish th old archive (i have maybe 5-6 tomee to go), i finish most events and most battlepasses (but i do not grind the last level if i dont make it).

I personally love to learn different killers and their techs. In huntress case I love to crossmap and hit orbitals or through walls, in chuckys case I love to 180 people with moondashes or hit people with crazy windowdashes.

no i havent thought it once but ive done it plenty of times, it works like a charm

you saying you dont think i know how light works after saying that screenshot is me actually avoiding the light from blinding me is hilarious

no needing to add shenanigans to avoid blinding, just remove that you dont have to avoid it at all, thats it
rather than make you invincible by slightly looking down, have you actually make the light not shine in your face by turning around

Okay and what exactly does this add to the gameplay? Be honest, how many times do you believe would you be blinded with that change?

I can tell you my count: probably 5 times. Why? Simple reason: When I get blinded while picking up I turn anyways because I don't trust the mercy zone accepting me looking down quickly enough, and on open field it would be impossible to get blinded anyways.

you realise i started this thread with "its generally just too easy to dodge flashes imo, i can have my entire screen filled by 4 survivors flashing me without it registering it just cause i look down or up slightly"
and your response to the screenshot is…bro youre looking down ofc it wont register thats how it works….yeah thats what im saying is the problem XD

or rather than crying just dont look down slightly and do something else instead, thats how gameplay always evolves and new meta is made, but i dont have to do anything, cause flashlight doesnt do anything

im not saying make flashlights OP where you cant dodge it and youre blind forever like you seem to think
im saying make them a part of the gameplay by having to actually evade them
you get points for evading them but no gameplay involving it

You do actually avoid them? Did you ever get blinded by a light and thought "oh that light in front of me blinds me, I should turn around and walk backward lol", no of course not, you look down xD

I don't know how you think how light works, but it's close enough that it makes sense like this. Of course you could add shenanigans like holding your hand infront of you, but that wouldn't work with every killer (demo as example) and especially not while carrying people because your only free hand is used.

Also I don't believe it would add anything fun, I can't imagine something more annoying than to have to spam rightclick or something instead of turn away or look down. It's like spamming leftclick while picking up to down the injured survivor that will stun you, it doesn't add much and is just annoying.

  • @Lyvius said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4041639#Comment_4041639

oh no no you misunderstand, its not the extreme that you have to turn 1 meter
the area of succes for the flashlight to register is so extremely small, that from a distance of 1 meter, while staring at the player, it would still not register if the killer tilts their camera angle a teensy bit
as shown by the screenshot, though a bit farther away

youre even looking directly into the flashlight, its light covering my entire screen, but registering it as a dodge
no tricks, no glitches, no perks, just flashlights being useless if not in very specific conditions

this player isnt trash cause the game counts this as a solid evasion
and im not good simply because i can tilt my camera angle slightly

come on man, you gotta agree this is overkill on how bad the flash registration is

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/MQVNU4FU6N7I/381210-339.jpg

Bro you literally look down on this screenshot, flashlights only count and always counted in the middle and slightly around it. This doesn't have to do with ether of the players but is simply how it always has been and how it should be. it would be way too sensitive if that counted as an actual save, you'd be crying as killer then 100%

I thought you mean actual situation that aren't normal.

  • @Lyvius said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4041370#Comment_4041370

i disagree, while there is a mercy zone in timing, there isnt one in the angle
because you can completely negate flashlights by tilting your camera slightly without even losing sight of the survivor,
this is so extreme that from 1m away, while looking at the flashlight, it still wont register your face being blasted because of the slight angle youre looking at

it makes them only applicable in situations where you as the killer arent able to move your camera
im not a good killer simply because i can tilt my camera and look at the survivors from a slight angle
and that a player is trash because they would like to use a flashlight outside the specific scenarios guaranteed to hit, is my problem with why theyre so easy
theyre so easy to dodge they only work when youre literally unable to dodge at all in the first place

lighborn is indeed not worth it, as a perk its however stupid in how effective it is
not only is it a complete immunity which no other perk gets
it completely negates several other perks and items with their addons no matter what the survivor does
plus it also gives aura reading, 10 sec which is more than almost all other aura specific perks
meaning it doesnt just negate blind attempts entirely, it punishes them also
no other perk i know off comes even close in how ridiculously effective it is in its intent

Okay if we talk about the extrem where you can turn 1 meter and dodge it, do we also talk about the extrem where you look completely into a wall and still get blinded even tho you don't see the light?

Also i'm completely okay to make lightborn only working if it's more than 2 flashlights (so 3), but you have to have that perk. People that know how to use it make it impossible to hook otherwise

  • @jedimaster505 said:

yeah its ez mode but don't expect the killer mains here to understand…they're used to having their hands held by BHVR ever since 6.1 update. most of them would uninstall if they were around to play killer in 2016 and experience a real challenge like what survivor is now today.

"Handheld" good joke, especially with all the basekit things you got over the years and regarded to flashlights the mercy-zone that lets you miss the blind and still get it because it was too hard for survivors lol.

The biggest handheld this game ever had was dead hard by far, I still have a trauma of that hell of a perk.

  • @Lyvius said:

besides using lightborn which is way too stupid to have complete immunity since 1 perk completely nullifying multiple perks, items and add-ons seems OP to me
its generally just too easy to dodge flashes imo
i can have my entire screen filled by 4 survivors flashing me without it registering it just cause i look down or up slightly
i can stand right ontop a flashbang and it does nothing

playing killer is already insanely easy and boring because of it, having pretty much the only killer counter in the game be so avoidable is just sad

They are not, the people you play against are trash or you're doing a good job. Flashlights already have a mercy-zone where you can misstime the blind in ether direction and still get it and flashbangs are generally still good if the killer doesn't react in time.

Since they made it easier to use them it's just stupid how you get blinded sometimes because turns you'd dodge with are still in time all of the sudden.

Also lightborn eats an entire perkslot you could use for slowdown, aura or chaseperks - it's not even worth running under 2-3 flashlights (2 if you're feeling already annoyed enough and 3 if you don't want to suffer).

  • @jedimaster505 said:

Yeah BHVR basically gave the killer mains wall hacks because they didn't want to put in the time to get good. They really should put a little UI text beside each role… Killer (Easy Mode), Survive with Friends (Intermediate Mode), Solo Survivor (Hard Mode). That way there would be no confusion about what you're getting yourself into.

You can only be stealthy up to a point. It is moreso a game of tag than it is hide and seek nowadays. It's really an insult to the killer mains intelligence. That they're incapable of using their own eyes and ears to find one out of 4 survivors in the teeny tiny maps we now play on. Like c'mon, you know we have to be at the gens to get out the gates, it isn't rocket science. Do you really need your hand held that tight that you need built-in dev-approved wall hacks in addition to scratch marks, footsteps, breathing, injury sounds, gen sounds, healing sounds, etc?

The only time dbd was ever meant as a hide and seek game was at the start. Ever since they concentrated on loops it IS a game of tag. I honestly also don't know anything more boring in this game than to search for people that are hiding constantly, this also don't have anything to do with getting good - if people are hidding in corners of the map or the edges you don't have the time for that, It's just a risiko to waste a lot of time if you guess (what gamesense and knowledge essentially is for hiding) wrong. Aura perks kill that risiko and let you chase constantly, that's why people use it, not because they are bad (well at least not everyone).

  • @Rwby said:

I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I’ve started to think that many killers are heavily carried by aura perks. Often they run multiple aura perks in a row, which means they don’t really need much skill or game sense and can instead rely almost entirely on wallhacks through auras.

What if killers had status effects, similar to survivors with Exhaustion, Oblivious, Mangled, or Hemorrhage? For killers, this could prevent the constant use of permanent aura reading. In the same way you can’t combine Sprint Burst with Dead Hard or Background Player because of Exhaustion, aura perks could share a similar limitation.

Right now, there’s barely a match where you don’t feel forced to run Distortion just to avoid being constantly revealed. Introducing an aura-related status effect would push killers to vary their builds more. At the moment, the killer meta already suffers from the same repetitive aura and slowdown perks every match.

For example, an aura status could prevent instant chaining like Darkness Revealed immediately after Nowhere to Hide, a very common combo, especially on Nurse. The same could apply to perks like A Nurse’s Calling, putting them into a short semi-cooldown after activation.

    What do you think?

Well the use of aura perks has the same reason like the use of slowdown perks: to save time. They are probably the second best perk-type to save time because they not only reduce search times and let you preassure survivors constantly but they also reduce chase times in certain situations.

Also they don't have the same strength on every killer - nurse, blight and huntress use them muuuuch better than a trapper, so the cooldown would be way too much of a nerf for a trapper but maybe fitting for those 3 (although huntress would also be questionable because not everyone can crossmap even with auras).

    Conclusion:

If you'd nerf aura perks you'd probably have people run even more slowdown because chase perks are generally not as great at time saving as slowdowns. Also your idea would have to differ between trapper and nurse as example, a trapper with auras is almost irrelevant, a nurse with auras will kill you quickly xD

(That being said they hate to balance mechanics differently for specific killers so they would never do that probably)

I get incidents that I down someone and I just don't get the prompt to hook them with hook not being broken.

Is it a bug or do they cheat in my 1/10 games now?

    Hard to tell honestly:

Mostly it's a cheater that just denies you hooking him or others. That being said I had one instance where I think there was no cheater but it simply bugged out.

  • @jamally093 said:

    Slugging...really

Here's the thing there are two kinds of slugging

The good kind aka you down something quick look around maybe hit a survivor to injure them as a warning and then pick up

Then the one that seriously it's an event why are you doing that. Slugging because you rely solely on your power and ended up not getting a 4k at 4 gens because you again rely on your power the whole time. I was facing a Huntress who did nothing but use her hatchets which is fine nice long range attack might get a nice snipe. All the gens were done with a death hook and one dead plus an extra hook then she started Slugging and again just used her hatchets none stop even when she was close enough for a hit. I was at a semi safe pallet not God pallet but you can loop it though the killer can use a short cut or break it to get you. She constantly kept using her hatchets and missing.

Bur it's an event why slug for a 4k when a 2k is a tie and fun fact 3k you win because you get more kills then escapes. I'm not saying no killer should use their power their power but I've had matches where a killer gets destroyed because they relyed to heavily on their power mostly Hillbilly's but still then they switch to slugging when no one is nearby so just...why it's an event your not here for a 4k and I sure as heck am not trying to get a 4k escape while blind folded me escaping or just a 3k escape is a win so just realize a 3k kill is a win for killer.

OH AND CAMPING LET'S ADD CAMPING TO THE MIX. Yeah got camped to second stage but since survivors were near by yeah never went up because that seems 100% fair and then add tunneling because we don't like people enjoying the winter event...this is my second match playing the event BTW...seriously just love people doing this just love it bring more please do bring more let's get a nice hacker in I'm thinking killer wise speed hacking and auto sacrifice on hook just to tie it around.

I honestly don't understand your point? Huntress and hillbilly are both killers where you want to use your power constantly. Only reason not to do this is to down already injured survivors if you can get the hit easily - with hillbilly it's probably an option to m1 the loop if possible, but with huntress even a rock can be enough for a few rounds waisting literally ages of your time.

Not to mention that you obviously have to learn to use their powers somehow, in both cases the awnser to that is using them as much as possible even if you lose for that.

Also I heavely doubt that they slugged because they lost because they used their power to much, that sounds like killers that simply do this to win, and I understand that completely. There might be people that just want to meme around, but there are also people that want to play the event for the bloodpoints (not that it gives much more, but still relevant I guess? I don't know) and really don't want to play around with snowballs.

I personally count to those people:

While I won't force tunnel outs, camps and sluggs I will take what you give me as a survivor. Means if you're freshly unhooked and death hook and I see you by chance, I will kill you under the circumstance that it's worth it (so I don't lose more gens than I'd gain preassure because of this).

That being said, just let the people play how they want. I've also seen swfs sweating in the event, so it's at least even xD

  • @FNGitg said:

I am a killer main and I will no longer be playing killer or buying killers anymore due to the anti camp/tunnel update

Why are there rules for a killer? Makes 0 sense I'm killing people I don't want to follow rules, it is very frustrating when I return back from a break or try a new killer and I am met with the anti tunnel / anti camp, its punishing when you play the game properly and forget about it, but its also entirely removed funny builds like basement bubba.

Many times people randomly get a free health state or jump off the hook and its so frustrating when you have a build on that is bad for gen pressure and you think sweet this persons going down as I've been chasing them for a while and its going to force people off gens nope they have a random BT health state.

I only have 500 hours total on the game and have bought every killer to play and have fun with but I find myself just upset and stressed with the game mainly because of the matchmaking when im only ever versing survivors with combined 20k+ hours who know the map and distances of the back of their hand which is fine but when you factor in anti tunnel or anti camp it makes it so difficult on weaker killers like ghost face, when you can make some game changing plays at the hook and this has been eliminated entirely.

I'm truly sad to see how this game ended up with so many rules for being a killer it makes 0 sense im a criminal killing I dont follow rules, some games there are tunnel or camping killers its just how it goes but forcing killers to play a certain way has made me quit and give a bad review on steam and a few of my friends have thought about getting the game who I've recommended not buying unless you play survivor.

Until the rules are uplifted which i don't think will be I will not be returning to this game often at all and definetly not as killer and I wont be spending anymore money, it's a real shame to see the direction this games heading.

First of all with 500 hours it's pretty unlikely you even played the game entirely without any anti-tunnel and anti-facecamp because basekit bt is a thing for years now.

Second the only thing they changed is literally the duration of basekit bt and a bit the mechanic of anti-facecamp. Bt got increased by 5 second and anti-facecamp is as useless as always, never saw it doing anything since the updated version. So I don't really know what you're talking about with "rules" and that all of the sudden lol.

If you would mean the first version of the anti-tunnel and anti-slugg update this year then I'd understand, because that one actually felt horrible to play, but honestly rather because of the feeling than the stregth-aspect because it punished you even for playing right (I believe you had to have 6 hooks at least to be allowed to kill without punishment, but you could kill the first survivor by juggleling 3 of them at 5. Don't remember it anymore honestly.)

Now to your problem with the random "bt" mid chase -

There are a few options that could be your problem, containing:

Off the record, babysitter, actual bt I believe (no one uses it, no clue if it still increases the duration of the basekit bt?), dead hard or even just a styptic. There's a lot it could be.

All in all they didn't change anything really in your time playing, so I don't know why you panic so much.

  • @Jay_Whyask said:

All I'm seeing is the FSR option, what do you guys have?

We were supposed to get a bunch of optimization options right?

    Am I mistaken? 🤔

That is the only option as far as I know. It's actually impressive that they don't even have DLSS, I believe I saw that very rarely that a game only has FSR xD

i'm confused about how pallets are supposed to work, i keep getting hit by pallets i'm parallel to (i.e inside a door frame im not inside of)

are they supposed to hit around corner? is it some kind of exploit? am i doing something wrong?

No you shouldn't be stunned there, but it happens relatively regulary. Especially the shack-palette loves to stun you through the wall xD

Why do Survivor's get triple the base kit that they normally get compared to Killers on this game mode, on demand sprint burst, on demand blast mine, absurd gen speeds, instant heals. Killers get given a selection of M1 killers that feel powerless in comparison and boring, I have survivors healing mid chase when I've only just hit them and then just getting spammed sprint burst not to mention the crazy amount of infinite pallets that they can just respawn?!?

Why do Killer's have their basic powers designed for 1v4 not 2v8?? It takes Nurse about 3 business days to cross the giant maps on 2v8 for example she's useless when she's S-Tier on 1v4. Genuinely the easiest walk in the park game mode for survivors (And yes I am a survivor main saying this). It's honestly laughable how bad killer is in this game mode. Yeah you get the odd duo pair that does well but oml most killers are terrible in this game mode. Buff them all they're all terrible. Hillbilly is like the only decent pick..

Huh? you have blight, wesker, hillbilly, huntress and nurse. All of them can get at least half the hooks sometimes even more in one round alone, and that's not even a problem for the most part.

The killers are really not the problem of 2vs8, they are strong enough in theorie. Problem is that you sometimes drive yourself into losing by getting quickly 12 hooks, most of the time you lose quickly then because you lose 4 gens at once then xD

  • @kDarko said:

After a match as killer in 2v8, some survivor told me my steam profile was listed on a discord group for whitchhunting because of me being a "tunneler". They said something like "Tunnel4Funnel".

Have I ever tunneled? Yes, obviously. But only when the match turns impossible to win by any cleaner way. I personally don't enjoy doing it, but sometimes I have to because, surprise… survivors we play against are super boosted and we, killers, like to win sometimes too.

Many other times I have been called tunneler when I did nothing close to it, just because I won. Many survivors are very sensitive nowaday.

In any case, I am not here to talk about why killers tunnel or not, but to mention about the existence of discord communities targeting killer players that doesn't bend in front of their exquisite survivor main petitions. I don't know much about this stuff, just that I recently got threatened about it, and it's not fun to know I am being witchhunted just because I try to win my matches. Dbd community should take a deep breath and meditate about what they are in the way to become, if not became already.

Okay and what is this supposed to threat you with? I assume they will play extra sweaty, but I really don't think the people there will target all listed killers at all times - also I don't believe that they are enough for you to care about xD

I would find that funny. it's such a petty move that it's simply a big fat scream from them to made fun off xD

  • @jamally093 said:

So survivor is in a locker and is found, killer stabs the locker wall and picks them up. If the survivor wiggles free their injured. It got me thinking...the killer never directly attacked the survivor expect for Pinhead(four chains in the body) and Xenomorph(tail stab and grab) everyone else just slams their weapon into the wall I was thinking maybe Oni also since you do get blood orbs but nope also into the wall. No killer expect for two every hits the survivor directly to injure them so how are they getting injured when being carried? I just found funny to think about it.

This isn't a post about me saying it isn't realistic or being nitpicky just found it an interesting idea. Look at a video of locker grabs no killer ever hits the survivor maybe legion but they just put the knife close to the survivor.

Tricksters branch-arms simply broke them 4 rips or something, otherwise idk xDD

Yes, honestly i cant live without ultra 4k graphics because currently in almost 2026 there is no reason any game should look graphically bad, with all the tools and optimizations there are available, its not 2016 anymore where games could look graphically poor, dbd is at its worst right now and the devs literally do not care, all these health updates they promised will not happen as they said they would, and the devs only react when there is massive backlash from the community, hopefully one day they wake up and start doing positive stuf for their game or just sell it to a competent company who can handle this awful coding they made themselves

Well only thing it does is hindering you to enjoy older games, I honestly can't stand it anymore. It feels like all that counts is graphics today, the games simply don't get better just because they look better (if even). You maybe right that it doesn't hold up to newer games, but I still think it doesn't look bad especially because it's much more fitting than some until dawn graphics (yes I came not up with something better right now).

We will see when they do something for the game, but that's much more important than the look of the game, so you'll have to wait quite a while.

I think the movement speed calculation also applies to killer.
    Skill-checks too

I really don't understand why they use that in their calculations, it seems so weird considering it's an onlinegame you'd want to have consistent movements in.

Range is like 14-16 meters but you have to aim higher because his axe falls more and smaller hitbox is good on loops to get hits than huntress cant even get.

Werent posting something he is op?

And for that you have to live with a hitbox you can dodge much easier than most ranged powers, and suffer the fact on open fields that you could have played huntress and downed over 3 times the range. The hits at loops don't really matter if you still down slower than huntress probably.

If we assume that you're able to get those hits against good loopers as springtrap then we also have to assume that you're good enough with huntress to use spots to shoot through or throw precisely over the loop. Huntress can play a lot of loops if you use this, she can't play highwalls, but in that case springtrap is hardly better than her considering you have to hit with his 3 cm of hitbox over a wall probably not seeing the survivor.

Oh did I mention that his axe hits objects more easily? Yes, you can hit objects in places that don't even exist with huntress, so you even lose some options you'd normally have with her.

(Nothing against you, I'm simply bored waiting for my train and really don't think he better at loops really)

  • @Colt45m said:

I may of mentioned before that springtrap is busted but yeah….he kind of sucks. lol His fire axe is way too easy to juke and once he uses it he pretty much has nothing. lol Idk why people pick him. Whoever told me c tier killer was right. Huntress is way better. lmao

Thank you, although I think it's pretty common to read already that huntress is more lethal than springtrap most people still said he's stronger. In the end his chasepower is simply worse than hers, the teleport doesn't matter because you can chase quicker with huntress and preassure the map with crossmaps (not even mentioning the fact you can tell relatively easy that he teleports to you) and also the stealth is worthless because he has increadible loud steps.

People just took a moment to get used to him, but I truely don't think he's even close to being as strong as people wanted him to be.

(The thank you is meant generally because anyone realized, it's not meant for the part of the person that told you he is c-tier. Just to avoid confusion!)

It is kinda crazy how some games are relying on stable framerates to function well.

Yes especially in dbd it doesn't make sense. I mean the fact he runs slower than the other survivors implies that somewhere in the calculation for the speed of the survivor is the framerate implemented, and not just for the visual but even for the awnser to the server. That the server even accepts that speed without questioning why he's slower without any slowdowns is kinda concerning, but I guess you can walk slowly with controller so maybe that's why xD

Might be interesting to read why some games use the framerate to calculate, I assume it has a reason :D

  • Lol a game should never rely so much on the fps for basic game mechanics haha. It's actually impressive how much it breaks the game xD

Thank you for showing me that :D

1 … 4 5 6 7 8 … 35
