No, survivors have to waste a lot of time to plant the boon or cleanse the hex, unless they can be also done instantly like what killers do now, this proposal will never make sense
-
Rebalancing game servers should be much much easier than fixing the network code. There's no excuse for not doing that UNLESS the developers just don't care about user experience (which is true and most people would agree with this).
-
It makes no sense that abandoning doesn't affect MMR. The last survivor just abandons the second they take a hit, which completely underestimates the actual kill rate.
-
I think this change will make survivor's experience much worse, vpn killers and hackers get more reward.

Bots are not that bad - this Ace bot traded for me recently, it was surprising!
Look at your hook timer (and current hooks/gens), trading is a really BAD choice actually.

I’ve seen stuff like this in post-game chat too - many times - and not once has BHVR responded to any of my reports. I don’t know why they even have an option to report chat abuse because they clearly don’t anything with those reports. It’s hard to believe that they actually care about an inclusive gaming environment when they do absolutely nothing about hateful stuff like this.
The in-game reporting feature and this forum are just here to give you a place to vent and cool off. Their real purpose isn't to actually solve your problems, but rather to keep you from going to unofficial platforms and damaging the game's reputation.

Agreed, bots should also be buffed to actually last more than 10 seconds in chase ideally.
Bots are as bad as afk players, I'd rather gg go next instead of giving me false hope.

- We used to have killer's ping revealed in lobby → BHVR hide it
- We used to have server validation → BHVR removed it
- BHVR only has 2 servers(west & east) in United States → BHVR refuses to add one in the middle.
So BHVR is allowing this behavior, they value $ more than customer experience.
They will NOT make any changes on this issue and will continue ignore the posts/report related to this topic. Just let you know.

I will not use that wheel. Makes survivor stronger and they are already much too strong (I am soloq, survivor main). I hope they will buff all killers, when survivor gets that wheel now.
Correction: you are soloq killer main.
-
unfortunately, BHVR does not care, they intentionally allow high ping killer to get advantage
-
This isn't a horror game anymore; it's a competitive game. BHVR might say they didn't intend for this to happen, but almost everything they do pushes the game in that direction.

I came back to the forum after a long time, assuming it would be full of whining as usual, and it was exactly as expected.
Of course people don’t know how to deal with a killer that has just been released, or in what situations they will use their power. That’s completely normal.
Killer players also learn by repeatedly using the killer while survivors escape from them. They learn through trial and error.
But running away from that learning process and saying, “It’s boring because I can’t escape,” or “They’re too strong, nerf them,” is a bad habit among survivor players.
Try using Jason yourself and learn what kinds of locations and timings make his power effective. If you do that, you’ll start to come up with some counterplay when you play as a survivor as well.
If he really is too strong, then I do think a nerf may be necessary. But I’m honestly tired of people immediately shouting “too strong” and “nerf them” every time a new killer is released.
This is not true.
Of course people don’t know how to deal with a killer that has just been released, or in what situations they will use their power. That’s completely normal.
If that's true, then the exact same logic applies to the person playing the new killer. They don't know how to use the power optimally yet either. So why does an inexperienced killer always have such an easy time steamrolling inexperienced survivors when first released? The learning curve goes both ways.
But I’m honestly tired of people immediately shouting “too strong” and “nerf them” every time a new killer is released.
Have you considered that maybe they are actually that strong? We've seen it time and time again: BHVR releases a purposely overtuned, "pay-to-win" killer just to drive DLC sales, and then hits them with a nerf a few weeks later once they've made their money.
-
Another pay to win killer, I'd rather play against Ghoul.

Exactly Devs and mandy even said his killrate is Normal and see no problem with him even though EVERYONE hates playing against him so they ain't gonna do jack
I don't believe it is "Normal", no one should believe any word coming from their mouth.
-
The reason that BHVR treats their customers like this today is because some of them keep their posture too low.
-
how about this one: Survivor will not receive DC penalty when facing Ghoul
-
What we should do is stop playing for a while and make player count drop; that’s the only way BHVR will actually take the cheating problem seriously.
-
This will be a completely useless perk then. Just like what they did to the fog vial before, nerf to the ground in one shot. Do people remember how many nerfs that Ghoul received but he is still strong?

You know what? I'm glad this game is going to death. BHVR deserves it.

I agree. I never play with anon players.
I’m genuinely curious about the downvotes here. In my experience, players who hide their profiles often turn out to be toxic, cheating, or just performing poorly.
I always believe there must be a reason they choose to HIDE themselves.
While I don't mind the existence of the mode itself, I think it’s fair for other players to want to avoid those who choose to stay anonymous.
-
because of a comp player getting an almost 2k winstreak, that same player gets really high winstreaks on other killers like oni and hillbilly so does that mean they need nerfs too?
If there's anyone can get 2k winstreak on any killer, nerf is 100% needed. Unless the dev team has no idea what they are doing to the game (which is a fact rn)
-
Like reporting actually does anything if we have end-game screen. LMAO
-
I simply let the high ping killer win. imo, high ping = cheating no matter what. Does not worth my time on a unfair match.
-
The devs can not even solve the problem of cheating, how do you expect them to deal with ping issue. Oh wait, there's still tons of bugs. This problem can never be on their list.

Low ping also gives a huge advantage
I wish all the killers have this low ping. but probably 1 out of 50 is like this.

recent healing buffs medkits have also been strong (although the syringe buff (it is a buff in the context of the current meta) and the styptic nuking from orbit baffle me
Is this some kind of joke? If these are buffs, I'd rather revert those buff. The usage of these 2 addons is significantly decreased based on my observation. Thanks for the buff.

I actually feel bad for the Devs. It's important to remember that they're simply following instructions. Our frustration should be directed toward the decision-makers at the studio, not the developers who are paid to execute their work.
Don't be. Those countless bugs are definitely their fault.

Not just EU servers lol. I think it's unforgivable that the game allows pings above 180-200. And it's even worse that the game forces you to play against killers with 300-500-800 ping. Why would you play a match against a killer like that? It makes no sense. If the game detects that a player has more than 200 ping (whether killer or survivor), the match should be automatically canceled.
*To clarify, I don't live near a server, BUT I do live in the area where there are servers, which means my ping is between 100-120, and I play against people whose ping is 80-100. Unfortunately, we play against people from China (they don't have servers there, and theoretically, they shouldn't be playing DBD either because I understand violent games are banned), but they're using VPNs and have pings of 200-300, even up to 800... it doesn't make sense.
Unfortunately, we play against people from China (they don't have servers there
This is not correct, they do have their servers now (in Hong Kong). So it's not like they don't have a choice, but they use vpn on purpose to take the bad ping advantage. To me, this is another way of cheating.
-
I know many killers from Asia intentionally connect to US servers using VPNs. Their latency usually sits around 160–180 ms, which heavily disadvantages survivors while having almost no downside for the killer. And they know exactly what they’re doing and exploit this on purpose for an unfair advantage. Personally, even 100+ ping already makes me want to quit the game since you still get hit even you win the mind game. Anything above 160 ms is completely unacceptable. To me, using vpn is more like cheating, I equally report every killer which has high ping, and ofc it is useless because BHVR is allowing it apparently.
-
This might explains why the matchmaking is so bad
-
same to vpn
-
Killers have bad ping - Survivors got punished: this thing STILL EXISTS!!!
I think this is more unfair and frustrating.
-
oh nice to hear, thank you both. is it mentioned anywhere? I didn't find it in patch notes.
-
New killers get nerfed, simply because THEY ARE OP, not because people complain about it.. People won't complain for no reason, man. Take a look at Ghoul. If it didn't get nerfed in time, the player base would decrease immediately.
I think that is BHVR's marketing strategy to release OP killers to sell DLCs. After they make enough money, they nerf the new killer back to normal.
-
Welcome to Dead By Daylight! Is it your first day playing this game? We have tons of bugs, which one do you want to order today?
Just get used to it, so you won't be angry. The devs can not make me more disappointed now.

I just dogde any red pings and anon names.
If someone has TTV in their name you can be 90% sure they aren't streaming atm anyway, at least in my exp.
If killer has red ping, we can not dodge unfortunately. Hope devs can do something.

You brought the claim that it protect cheaters. I explained that it doesn't. Cheaters that get reported don't have any less protection against getting banned than people who make their name public. It literally makes no difference to the devs if you report the anonymous player, they can't hide behind it when the report will give the devs their player ID.
I never said, "protection" = "less chance to be banned".
Imagine as a normal player, you got a cheater in your game, then what? Does report system guarantee you will never be put into the same lobby again? If I can see their steam id, their profile, I can definitely dodge them easily.
Now BHVR is hiding their information, all I can do is hoping devs can get them banned asap(which is another joke) and they will not be in my lobby. They rob the bank with a mask, and BHVR is selling the mask for free : ) Isn't that kind of protection?

I didn't say "protect" = "not get banned", so let's not talk about report system anymore, it is totally different.
I said they rob the bank with a mask, and BHVR is providing those masks for free. Normal players got ######### on by those cheaters, but we can not even see their IDs, profiles, comments, add them, dodge them in the lobby, isn't it kind of protections?
Hiding those information from others is apprently protection. -
@ExcelSword said:
Anonymous mode does nothing to protect cheaters. You report them with an in game ticket and show evidence of the cheating (video call, screenshot etc.) They can see the player ID using the in-game report.
Report system is a different topic, let's not dive deep into it.
We are talkiing about Anonymous mode, most of the cheaters are using it to cover themselves, Anonymous mode does help A LOT.
-
There would be no fix for that anymore. The devs already said they can not fix it and they gave up.
-
The Only Way To Make Dbd Grow is to hire devs who actually play their game :)
-
Hey dev team, I love vpn killers, gen rush, tunnel, camp, OP P2W DLC, nurse, blight, bugs, and SOLO queue experience.
Let's not do anything to change those, I think you are doing pretty good job so far!
-
Coundn't agree more.
It is so frustrating to get hit from high ping killer. If devs can not solve the latency problem, simply showing the ping for everyone in the lobby should be extremely easy.
YES, EXTREMELY EASY.
It's totally unfair killers can see survivors' ping but not the other way round. Playing as killer is already very easy in this version, why a simple request to make survivors' life slightly easier is always ignored, I saw these kind of posts multiple times.💀
