So I might have a small brain or something but I don't know why people are upset about it. The idea is just saying "hey don't be sweaty and try to spread hooks around" I have played both killer and survivor and I will say I have tunneled once or twice when I was having a bad day. But I don't understand why people are upset about it when basically it's just learn your not gonna get a 4k all the time and a 3k is still technically a win 1k or 0 is a lose and 2 is a tie. So I might be missing something in all this but I really don't understand why so many people are upset with it.
Honestly the biggest part that annoys me about it since I played it yesterday is how it feels to play. I feel like a toddler that did something good and get a reward for that everytime I don't tunnel, especially with those ugly yellow hooks if I didn't and red ones if I did. Or on the other side that if I did tunnel that I simply feel like I get punished to death.
Also 6 hooks is really not a little amount of hooks to gather before you're allowed to kill someone - it's 2 deathhooks and 1 person with 1 hook if played optimal. It feels really bad to constantly think: "oh look someone I could kill ah nevermind I'm not allowed to kill yet it's before 6 hooks, also that's the last hooked one." The punishments are also pretty crazy, the 25% repairspeed bonus result into 20% faster gens if people do them alone (90/1,25 = 72/90 = 0,8 = 20% faster) and the gen blockage should explain itself.
Honestly in the ptb I lost maybe 2 times out of 8 or so, but the anti-tunnel feauture wasn't even a problem for the most part. I'm almost at 3200 hours and the highest I saw where 1700 once, I believe that if I actually had any suitable survivors to go against, that this system would be so much worse - like this I can't even really say if it's too much, but I can say that it feels awful. It's breaking your arm pretty heavely to cooperate and at the same time rewards you like a kid.
(Sorry for the lengthy text, I will probably get used to it, but that's how I feel about it after yesterday. Also I'm in the knowledge that 8 matches isn't a lot, but it's an okay enough pattern to at least say something to the feeling of it)

thank you for your answer.. i currently have an old mouse(can't choose and don't know my dpi) maybe i will buy one better, i play on ps5 using mouse and keyboard since they recently added it.. i noticed that with huntress 70% sens in game may be too much.. with nurse day by day i'm not feeling any different playing on 70%.. so dpi, is like the dead zone for controller stick pretty much right? i'd like to try low sens and high dpi on nurse, but for now i have a standard mouse where i can't do anything other than playing around with mouse sens in gambe
70% is probably too much with huntress yes, nurse could work if you get used to it (I don't really now how 70% feels with standart dpi on mouse, I only know it would be too much for me on controller xD).
As far as I know the deadzone is an area of the stick where you don't turn/move, is this right? Then is the awnser no - you constantly turn with a mouse if you move it, there's never a moment where nothing happens.
It's hard to explain…well a controller has a max-turnrate that increases from the middle to the side, right (So middle is nothing and side is 100% turnspeed)? A mouse doesn't have a maximum turnspeed or something, it's basically just a number that says how many pixels you move per inch of you mousepad on a flat surface - if you move your mouse slower you turn slower, if you move it quicker you turn quicker. So you could say that you basically decide how much you want to move your arm with your dpi. Of course that also means it gets harder to be precise the more dpi you have because you move more for less movement, that's why lower dpi is good for huntress and deathslinger - nurse doesn't need that, so you could crank it up quite a bit as long as you can controll it.
-
@lunaticlifter said:
So i can't choose my dpi, but i've been testing different sensitivities, the sweet spot seems like 60-80%(currently on 70%) but i may not have enough practice with that ( flicks, moving mouse fast enough etc..).. on controller i used to use like 90-100%, do you think it may be too much on mouse? do you recommend me getting used with that, or may i have more advantages lowering the sensitivity(for better aiming)? ik everything is subjective, but i don't trust my sensations already, because it's been like 13 days and never pratically played anything on m&k..even though i feel already confident enough to play against a sweat squad with mouse and keyboard
Almost forgot:
For nurse it honestly doesn't matter much on what dpi you play. A lower dpi is typically good for killers that need precission (so huntress or deathslinger as example), a higher one is typically good for killers that restrict your turnrate and have to turn fast like blight or dracula wolf.
Nurse doesn't have a thight window in which she has to turn or something, you simply need to know where you land and where the survivor is in that situation, as long as you turn quick enough to hit him you can also play with 100 dpi or 8000 xD
So I'd recomment to try different dpi's and see how good you can play with that, as soon as you find a dpi you like you should let it stay like this for a while. You'll get used to that then and much better at controlling it, after that you can choose a second one if you need a get better with that one - this ensures that you have a dpi that you're used to.
(Everything I say here is of course only the way I did that/do this, so choose if you want to take it for granted)

I'd recommend you to let it be on 50% like normal and switch your dpi on your mouse to have numbers like 1000 or 2000 dpi as example, it's easier to work with that. (Of course only if your mouse has that option, you'd probably need a driver for your mouse then - chances are pretty good that you can download that if you have a modern gaming mouse. Just google your mouse model and add driver behind that).
I personally play normal killers that don't need me to flick very fast with 2400 dpi, on killers that need that I play 4000.
Dpi functions like this:
The number of your dpi, as example 2400 means how many pixels your mouse moves in one inch (or roughly 2,5cm) of your mousepad. I have wqhd so in my case I can move my cursor almost from left to right in one inch of mousepad movement (my screen has a width of 2560 pixels, that's why it's just almost). The higher your dpi the less you have to move your mouse for a big turn, but it's also harder to control - 2400 in my case allows me to turn relatively fast but also precise with relatively little movement, so that's perfect for me.

I know this was an issue with last stand before in that it was giving I frames during vaults. Other than that... kinda gotta accept the BS on both sides. Its kinda like how survivors will notice the hits that hit them seemingly around the corner, but obvious to the hatchets that SHOULDVE hit but dont.
I'm used to a lot, but at some extend it's really awful to play like this. Especially because I obviously still get slowed during those hits, so I lose distance for hitting normally, especially around objects it sometimes adds a few rounds that take ages xD

Yea sorry i got mad cause this happens quite often and it happened to me in a 2v8 match where killers have already won and i was slugged for a long time. I actually managed to get the hatch because i had class unbreakable so i had to wait till my teammates die to pick myself up. Anyway nothing fun about this mechanic and waste of time.
It's alright, your ideas are good - they don't seem to alter the normal flow of the game. Being slugged like this is really annoying - I also do that sometimes (basically only if I have a challenge or know I can get the last survivor relatively quickly), but even I as the killer find it too boring to do this all the time xD

HI! PLEASE ITS BEEN YEARS WITH AN ENDGAME MECHANIC THAT LEADS BOTH TEAM TO DRAG THE MATCH IN A BORING GAMEPLAY.
ITS EITHER KILLER SLUGGING SURVIVORS TO PREVENT HATCH FROM SPAWNINGS THAT CAN BE FOR SEVERAL MINITES, SLUGGING AND EVEN WORSE AVOIDING THE BLEED BY FORCING A WIGGLE OUT JUST TO HAVE MORE TIME TO FIND THE REMAINING SURVIVOR OR A SURVIVOR JUST HIDING NOT REPAIRING ANY GEN TO SCAPE THR HATCH BASICALLY LETTING TEAMMATES DIE AND NOT REPAIRING.
- SIMPLE SOLUTION: IF A SURVIVOR IS SLUGGED AND OTHER SURV ARENT DOING ANYTHING FOR A WHILE HE CAN ABANDONE GAME.
2. IF A SURVIVOR IS THE ONLY REAL PERSON IN THE TEAM (OTHER SURV ARE BOTS BASICALLY THEY ABANDONED THE GAME CAUSE 1.) I WOULD PUT A BUTTON SPAWN HATCH AND BOTS DISAPPEAR BUT TO AVOID TEAM KILLING -AKA SURVIVOR NOT DOING ANYTHING LETTING HIS TEAMMATES DIE- I WOULD BE CAREFUL AND ONLY ACTIVATE THIS BUTTON IF THE SURVIVOR HAS MADE ENOUGH ACTIONS IN THE GAME. SO IF THE SURVIVOR IS NOT HATCH WORTHY THEN KILLER CAN SLUGG (IF HE WANTS) TO HAVE ALL SURV KILLED, IF THE SURVIVOR HAS BEEN FAIRLY PLAYING THE GAME HE CAN CHOOSES TO SPAWN HATCH.
Doesn't sound too bad, but please press capslock again my eyes are bleeding xD

Wondering which skill set is the best for playing Huntress in 2v8. She's one of my favs to play as in 2v8 and want to run the best skillset for her.
I always use the one giving me 5% haste if unseen, it's especially good because it also gives my teammate haste if I hit or down over 16 meters away (I forgot honestly) xD

Its still smart to die edge map, away from all the gens and survivors, he has to go all that way
True but doesn't matter at all. The other girl was not found yet and the legion is not affected by her running edgemap at all, besides that edgemap was literally giving her 5 seconds - even in 1vs4 this wouldn't be very effective because there would be a hook next to it mostlikely xD

Make's sense! Thanks everyone.
And the pointing? What does that mean? "Like Ha ha?" Idk lol
Something like this yes, also it guarentees to absolute die at that spot without falling weird. In animation you don't get thrown away xD
-
Normally that's meant as some sort of provokation or like saying "look you wasted so much time chasing me to the corner of the map, and now you have to waste more hooking me from here" - but that would only work in 1vs4 normally, because you don't have to hook in 2vs8?
Maybe she found it funny in general to make you run there idk xD

I see a lot of negativity towards this game recently and I wanted a chance to spread something positive and talk about my thoughts on the game. I've been playing on and off for a month and as a massive horror fan this game is a dream come true. It balances so well the horror and fun elements. The game is full of ambiance and charm. It is the type of game you can play for 15 minutes or several hours comfortably. I definitely prefer killer to survivor but what can I say I'm a former scare actor I like to bring the fear.
Does the game have problems? Sure. A few bugs here and there and survivors that are more interested in teabagging than surviving. But that is video games. Here are my killer rankings based on the ones I've used:
8. The hillbilly. Too slow and not my type of character. The chainsaw ability is cool though.
7. Huntress. Again not my type of lore or design. I didn't do great with her but in more skilled hands I'm sure she is devastating.
6. The nurse. Cool design and ability. Again didnt do great but im sure i just need more practice.
5. The trapper. This is a character I never expected to like but there is a charm to him. I love his design.
4. The doctor. Not sure if it was a fluke but this guy was devastating. My first time playing as him I got my first 4k. Definitely will be playing him more.
3. The wraith. Simple play style and an awesome design. Although I feel there is a massive disconnect to his design/abilities and his lore. I do love ringing the bell though.
2. The hag. One of the scariest looking characters who is a perfect repsentation of their lore. The ability is very useful especially to new players.
- Dracula. The only character I have purchased so far and easily my main. I'm a huge fan of the character and getting to play as the king of vampires is just an absolute dream. I love the shape shift abilities and am trying to learn his playstyle. I got a 4k with my last match so it is definitely coming together.
So what about you. How was the game when you got started. Who was your first main and has it changed?
Well the game was a lot harder as killer when I started:
SBMM was not implemented yet.
Killers were weaker in general.
BT was not basekit yet.
DS could be used in endgame.
Old dh was a thing.
At the start I lost a lot as killer because I played against people with 2k hours with 40 hours more often than not, but I kept going and got better and better until now. My first main was I blight I believe, but I always switched a lot - today my main is huntress, I just love to crossmap people xD

@Ghost_Fade said:
its strictly just for 2v8, Killers have the bigger advantage. Removing abilities will keep the killers moving at a reasonable speed as killers are meant to move (for the selected killers in 2v8). It wont change the game being unfair to Survivors for 2v8. Killers speed wont have to change if Survivor speed was more accurate.
Removing killer abilities will result into 100% win rate for survivors IF they have more than 2 braincells.
Do you know why the slower killers without a strong power are less played in 2 vs 8? Because 8 survivors with a already build in catch-up mechanic make the game so tight that you have to down quickly for you to have the chance to win - while you chase 2 survivors potentially 6 others can work on gens at the same time, you have to down as quickly as possible to hold as many people off gens as possible.
Also you don't make sence with the takes "I play survivor for challenge and killer for fun" and at the same time you want the reason dbd is challenging OR fun gone lol. Go play traper or prey for a round of ghostface and trapper, but let us people that like to have actual fun out of your fantasies of a boring version of this game.
(Nothing against you of course, I simply really don't agree with you)

I swear on my mama I main killer, but so far I had ONE game in which fog vials were a problem to fight, and it was because this one Rick Grimes was running a stealth build with it. I've been seeing the weirdest inconsistencies regarding Fog vials and people's takes on them, where people seem to think they 100% blind killers like a flashbang would. Some of what I think is effecting this is…
- The red add on that increases their opacity.
- I think certain filters mass with players ability to see through the fog. I don't use filters, and I don't even know how to, so I can't test this, but I'm starting to suspect that might make up a good amount of the problem.
I'm asking mostly killer mains here, how many people actually mind the fog vials and why, and how many people are like me.
I kind of like the idea of survivors getting a new item, and information is probably the least harmful thing for a survivor to take away. It doesn't slow you down, or only work when you have to break a pallet, which means you could play trapper or nurse, and if you in theory predict where the survivors is going, it's not going to matter.
Fog vials before the nerf that gave them uses were already easy to follow, but now they are basically just a light fog you don't even have to acknowledge at all xD
Only thing they had to do where limiting them to 3 uses and that's all, maybe even increase the strength by 5% as a way of balancing them better for the limited uses.

I'm actually not sure what I'm hoping to achieve with this post. I probably just want to vent a moment of frustration that's been slowly building up over time. Sometimes talking helps.
You're probably thinking this is going to be a rant about killers being OP and everything being so terribly unfair, but that's not it. I'm frustrated with myself. I've played the game for almost exactly 1200 hours now, and I just can't get any better at chases. The usual tips like watching good survivor players and YouTube videos don't help; as soon as I'm in a chase, I panic and forget everything I've seen others do. Learning how to run tiles (e.g., from the aforementioned videos) doesn't work either; I can't get it into my head, no matter how hard I try.
Some people with 50-100 hours last longer in chases than I do. I usually can't even last 15 seconds. At this point, I'm downright ashamed and doubt my own intelligence. Am I stupid? Why can't my brain memorize how to run tiles? Is it because I probably have ADHD? I was diagnosed with it as a child, but I don't know if it goes away in adulthood.
Actually, I can't be stupid; I passed my medical exam with an A. But as soon as I play DBD, I doubt my own IQ. At this point, I don't even know if I ever want to play the game again. Today I got to the point where I actually disconnected (forgive me) because I was so ashamed that I almost instantly get downed by every killer. It was like that back in 2021 and it is like that today, No improvement.
I like the game, but I'm not having fun with it anymore because I just can't manage to keep chases going. When I spectate my teammates, I feel even stupider. It seems like every single DBD player can loop better than me.
Sorry guys for the whining, but I felt like I just had to let it out somewhere. Feel free to ignore me. :)
Did you ever try killer? I personally don't play much survivor, but have over 3,1k hours in general and probably 95% of them played killer.
In my case I last most of the time relatively long because I know how you'd play those killers in those cases, it helps me not to panic because I know what is possible with them in this moment and what isn't (we ignore the fact that I probably also don't get too good killers). Of course it could also be that I simply lost my fear mostly because of the pure time I'm already playing, but I really doubt that judging on the fact I sometimes get jumpscared when someone camps a palette and suddenly dropped it on me xD
This should help you to not panic AND to learn how to run loops better.

Well seems like you must have a really bad day/time in general, so I'll end it here on that awnser.
Btw is my name Tim not "jan", well I assume that was some kind of thing to provoke me or a saying of some kind anyways - probably doesn't matter then anyways xD

Game is even more boring and unenjoyable without map offerings, don't let them lie to you. Both sides still winning/losing the same and will complain how it wasn't their fault they lost, regardless of maps offerings being in game or not. That's when you know they never actually cared about offerings it was just another scapegoat in a long list of scapegoats. That's why this game is in such a sad and miserable state where no one has ######### and it feels like a chore to play.
First of all "even more boring and unenjoyable":
Speak for yourself - playing 8 times a day on eyries or the game because of mapofferings is not enjoyable OR interessting. Only one that lies here is you and that to yourself.
Second thing:
You can tell yourself what you want, but no one in this game would call maps in general balanced. Not even if you look at the count of maps that are leaned to one side you'll find a balanced number of maps that are good for your role.
While I agree that not every round is lost because of the map, I will also say that the map also has a huge impact on your abilities, and style you have to play and therefore if you win or lose.
As example indoor maps are the general death of huntress:
you just have to play a offering for lerys and you'll probably able to see the huntress not being able to use her hatchets 50% of the time as a 4,4 killer - bam easy win just because you used a offering that kills her power laughably effective. Of course that's a problem with huntress and indoormaps, but at least it's random now if you lose because of that, that's 100 times better than losing because of an offering.
That specific case now is a hardcounter to her power because of the general form of the map, but then there are maps like mothers dwelling that have insane loops and are huge, that you simply won't win with a killer like myers probably. He simply can't do much except running in a circle with you around insane loops with normal speed, his instadown and potential mori doesn't even matter because he won't be quick enough to traverse the map probably to defend anything.

@Jargonator said:
How do I deal with killer anxiety? It's such a big problem for me, I'll spend minutes staring at the que button, just to switch to survivor… how do I deal with this? And why does it happen?
What exactly is it that scares you?
Is it the preassure?
Is it the fact that every mistake you see is your own 100% and only you can feel them really?
Is it survivor-comments in the end?
Is it the thought that people might feel like you ruined the round?
Is it the timeinvest you have on any killer to get good really?
Point 1.
I could tell you to try playing in your tempo, generally people should be nicer to you if you play slower and more chill, so you shouldn't be insulted as much.
Point 2.
Actually the reason I prefer to play killer, I can only destroy rounds for myself and no one else. In your case maybe try not to think about them as mistakes directly but more like what you could do better next time. So instead of "i'm so stupid I shouldn't have thrown this hatchet to the corner" you think "well that didn't work, next time I should probably throw it to the outside so the survivor runs in".
Point 3.
The easiest way would be of course just setting your profile to private or play with funny hiding mode (I'm german and I can't write this word from my head, I'm also to lazy to look it up right now xD) and then close the chat in endgame. You could also be like me and collect comments, I personally collect bad comments for the most part because I find them funny, but you should probably try to collect good ones (you'd probably have to play very nice then).
Point 4.
Well I don't know what to tell you to that logic. In the end you as a killer are playing this role because you have fun playing it, people expect you to play for their fun sometimes but that's simply a dream in their head. Everyone wants to have fun themself and it sometimes colides with the other team, of course you can make it one of your goals to ensure the other teams fun too, but it should never be forced on yourself or anyone else to ensure that.
Point 5.
Well I can't really help you with that, dbd really takes ages to get really good - especially because you can't only do that with one character but with every single one in terms of killers (of course you take basics with you, but not the specific abilities you need for the different killers) xD
Sorry that I wrote so much xD

I've been using map offerings to try and go to the new walking dead map, so far I've used 30 offerings for it's realm and every single time I've been sent to a completely different realm, no one else is bringing offerings so it's not like mine isn't being chosen. Map offerings are useless now, changing them was useless, both survivors and killers used them to their advantage so I don't get why they needed to be changed. Anyways I'm annoyed, that's all
"both survivors and killers used them to their advantage"
Exactly:
killers send you to midwich with nurse to instantly see you die without much you can do, and survivors send you on eyries as swf to see you die without much you can do. Maps are simply too badly balanced to give people the choice of the map they want to play, you can easily choose a map to destroy your opponent and the only thing that they could do would be always using a counteroffering. On itself that wouldn't be too bad if offerings weren't also meant to be the slot for bloodpoint-offerings.
In the end it was absolutely the right call to nerf them to the ground. You can still win, but it doesn't win you games.

from what i can tell from the clip, i guess maybe in changing the actual sphere for the fog they. gave it a hitbox if youre not inside? obviously the area inside is coded differently to apply the aura blindness and audio effects, but why it has collision at all is beyond me. maybe the reused some other sphere in game that has collision with powers (my best guess is unknowns uvx shot when it makes contact) and didnt realize it still had that property? thats the only way i can spin it in my head
Both could be. I find it funny somehow - no one uses them anyways so that's probably not a huge issue xD

- Bubba and Bamboozle? Or is Insidious back?
- Pig or Sadako for Hex: Face the Darkness?
- Blight and Lethal Pursuer? Or Barbeque and Chilli?
- Pinhead or Clown for Killer Instinct maybe?
What's your top shout? 🫡
I don't really know if that's often played today (it was before at least) but I'd say iron maiden and huntress. Alternatively huntress and lethal is also a good pick for me, every round starting with a crossmap is a good round xD

Lol they were bad before regarding the strength, now they are nothing more than a wasted slot. I don't know on what the uses are limited now, but whatever they are should stay or if needed being adjusted, and for that the strength of the smoke increased to a point were it actually matters. I'd assume maybe 5-10% higher than before the nerf, then they should be in a good spot (of course only if there not an addon that already increases it by 10% or so that you use anyways, otherwise you probably don't see anything at some point).

Literally just created an account to post about this. Putting the first new survivor item into the game in 9 years to then almost immediately hard nerfi it (especially at a time when survivor morale-especially solo queue morale) is at an all time low is certainly…a choice. Also, they “retired” a bunch of powerful key & map add-ons with the same patch they added the new item.
But Ghoul gets to stay the way they are and so does Clown? Yet still no Skull Merchant buffs since her rework is obviously not top priority right now (or anytime this year, most likely)?
Really???
Not even complaining about the killswitched perks that were being exploited, but urm….no killswitch for Pig ? Due the “no chase” bug she can literally tunnel you until the bear trap timer runs out…guaranteeing a kill-zero counterplay. I’m glad Pig finally got a buff, but I don’t think THAT was the buff the devs were intending on implementing….
They should have limeted them but make the fog stronger for that, they don't do much at the moment anyways except being slightly annoying - that way they would actually do something and wouldn't be so annoying.
To the pig bug: I can also run after you backwards, it does exactly the same, it's also not to hard to follow scratchmarks backwards xD
-
Honestly I don't really understand why they nerfed the strength and uses at the same time.
The main problem of them at the moment is that it gets really old to play against them when 3-4 people have it - it's not even that it does much at lot of the time, you're actually able to follow them perfectly most of the time. I feel like that the ability to spam that so often and at the same time ineffectiveness makes it more of a tool to simply be annoying than anything usefull - that's why I think they should just up the strength and limit the uses so you can actually use them to escape the chase but only a few times.
Now I know that they will be more effective as soon as people learn how to play with them actually, but like they are now and with how people are playing them they are pretty useless and more annoying than anything.

Is there any way to de-prioritize hitting the person on hook when they are being saved by one or more person(s)? I am angling myself away from the hook and STILL hitting the hooked person thanks to aim dressing.
Nope, your best chance is starting the attack from relatively far away trying to swing around the hook and turn last second where your hit is still up to hit the survivor behind. That works usually for me, but sometimes it simply hits a hitbox you can't see lol xD

Huh chucky slides not smooth? You actually use the moondash from pig on him and depending on the loop cover it almost fully with 1 dash lol.
Besides that I didn't play pig yet, but I can't imagine them getting her to be too strong, no matter what they do xD
Well made me laugh, thank you for that. Maybe I try her out and laugh even more, because they actually managed to do that :D
Tried her now. The survivors lost with 2 gens remaining on the mapvariation from the walking dead - she IS stronger and her dash actually useable, but she's for sure not too strong I feel like.
As a last word I want to say something beautiful I saw on the map:
"Don't dead, open inside!" xDDD

I played against her several times, against her more than 80% of loops are useless. You just have to drop everything (similar to Clown) or if you manage to stay at that pallet well gl to you because it's not 50/50 anymore it's 70/50 thanks to insane speed, it's not fun at all! She just uses m2 from a huge distance and gets you no matter what you do, leave the pallet when she crouched? Nope, she still gets you with her dash or super fast uncrouching speed. She are no better than an overbuffed Clown! Do you know what the most boring thing is in DBD? Not having any counter against killers like against a Knight
My suggestion:- Reduce the dash speed to 7m because 7m per second is already the speed of the Spirit (but Pig can see) if you didn't know or decrease dash range a bit -2m would be fine and solve most of the issues
- Nerf her uncrouching a little because she gets up too quickly that even the animation looks weird
- Rework addons that directly affect the dash, many use green addons against us which there is almost no counterplay and it is easy to zone the survivor even on safe loops like shack combined with high ping on killer
Why should I play Chucky if Pig does everything better? Chucky can't slide his m2 as smoothly as she does and has a cooldown on power when Pig can use it whenever she wants. Don't forget that Pig has traps that slow down the game, now she has a strong dash without a cooldown and traps. Too much for one killer, too casualized like Clown with no brain needed. If you wanna keep new changes at least remove her dash sliding just as you removed from Blight
Huh chucky slides not smooth? You actually use the moondash from pig on him and depending on the loop cover it almost fully with 1 dash lol.
Besides that I didn't play pig yet, but I can't imagine them getting her to be too strong, no matter what they do xD

Killers returning to hook immediately after a survivor is unhooked has gotten way too common after 1 gen pops. It's in basically every game now. BHVR made it blatantly easy for them — the killer gets a free HUD notification the second someone is unhooked, and that’s all they need to just turn around and go right back. No guesswork, no risk, no strategy — just brute force abuse of the UI.
And the funniest part? These are the same killers who come to the forums crying about their matches being “too hard.” Maybe if they actually tried to chase and loop like the rest of us, instead of hook proxying and tunneling off the HUD, they’d learn something. But nope — just abuse the unhook info and play the most boring style imaginable.
BHVR, please — survivors are getting burned out. You’ve created a system where killers are rewarded for ignoring chases and skill, and just hovering around hooks to farm pressure. If you want the game to stay healthy, you need to fix this.
Suggestions:
Delay the unhook notification for killers
Add aura blocking or deterrents for hook returners
Even minus blood point gain so they can't farm for BP because it way to easy for killer to get max BP doing this and u can get max BP easily playing normal
Right now, the killer role is being babied with free info and no consequence, while survivors are punished for trying to play the game normally. It’s not balanced.
Okay what I'm reading from this is three things:
- Ether the killer is near you and in a bad chase, so he drops it for you and goes for you instantly (valid reason because the chase is already bad, you're instantly a new target AND you're already closer to being dead, also the person that was in chase is not instantly on a gen and both of you under hook are also doing nothing - 3 people that don't do anything).
- The Killer was simply near you and didn't know about anything that needed more attention so he just goes back to you. (Again valid reason because at least he knows where you are, yet again you're also closer to dead AND if the other person tries to safe you he has pressured even two people).
- He was far away and didn't find anyone or anything that needed attention and just comes back for the same reasons like 2 xD
2 and 3 are probably the most common and absolutely valid - 2 is mostly and 3 easily fixed by just not healing under the hook, he knows where you got unhooked not where you are exactly (of course floods and nurses excluded).
1 is also perfectly fine, he was looped for a while by then probably, the longer he takes to drop the chase after the unhook the longer you have to run.
Oh and guess what, I actually don't even look at the hud if I do this. I react to the explosion or sometimes to the turning of the hookaura (if unhook from the front perfectly you don't even see that, so if it bothers you just unhook like this lol). It would be awful to contantly have to look at the hud for this xD

Hello, I hope your day is going well, so I came here to show my frustration with the team that makes skins or renders characters in general, more specifically, the hair, here in this post, I'm going to post some prints of some hair that, without the anti-aliasing option, looks simply horrible.

You may say that it's just a skin and I shouldn't care too much, but if I'm bothered by it, why don't I turn on anti-aliasing?
Because I think that the TAA anti aliasing makes the game very blurry, and I like to see the game, these bad hairs started to appear when the 2v8 resident evil skin collection arrived, and apparently they are continuing with this until today, I hope this post is an addendum for BHVR to fix these hairs without anti aliasing, because they look very bad and dependent on anti aliasingI mean you could also activate it and use a sharpnessfilter - honestly no clue if this looks good then xD
Well it's just a idea for now, they should fix it sometime :D
(Also I remember that there was a bug that it was blurry, it helped when I dragged the graphics-scaling back and forth from 100 to 90)

this makes sense, i didn't even know people could apply it remotely .. at least i know exactly who it was that did it, i guess ?? too bad i didn't think to report right after the game
Yeah unfortunately it's not possible to report cheaters afterwards. Funny enough it wouldn't even be hard to realize this, because they already have a matchhistory from the stats - they'd only have to include it ingame and made it so you can look at the matchdetails in the endscreen xD

i'm running a very beginner friendly build bc i'm just back to the game after a few years. just deja vu, kindred, babysitter, and iron will. no decisive strike bc i don't have that character.
i was playing with 2 friends [the Meg and Yun-jin]. i know it wasn't them doing anything bc they were working a gen across the map in the first clip. i assumed the Dwight had a flashbang but it just didn't do the audio/visual for me for some reason. but in the second clip the Dwight was on a gen, not very close.
my friends wanted to queue up again right after so i didn't have a second to check perks [i also forgot].
was this a survivor perk on the dwight? to help teammates within a certain radius? was it cheats somehow? was this some sort of killer perk? to randomly get stunned in exchange for some sort of buff? i have never seen this beforeSounds like a cheater, you were actually flashlightsaved by him. Most of the time you can't do much about that as killer - sometimes it's for some reason directional. So it always and only blinds you if you look in the direction of the cheater but doesn't care about you looking up or down - most of the time it doesn't matter what you do xD
Ps:
actually only the first one I believe. Ether you have cut out the clicking on the second one or it was literally remote ds, that's also pretty common xD

I was really hoping that after waiting a couple of years we were going to get…well…a rework with her. I really don't like using that word around here due to reputation respectfully, but twins really didn't change much. A few little tweaks, okay sure. Then some number changes.
That's as exciting as it got. I wasn't around for when Twins released so I can't really say much on the killer but from what I do know, this killer requires you to slug…A lot. I know we are trying to move out of that playstyle to a degree, but hey Knight and Oni still exist among anyone I can't think of right now. Meanwhile Sadako gets the anti-slug treatment.
Any who - I digress…Regarding the twins, on a serious note. If we were to rework her power. How would she work? What would she do? What would victor do? What would his role be?
I know people are going to hate this idea - but its just an idea. It doesn't mean anything, but give Victor duality. One feature you can control him if you desire, but he can't down you. The other feature is you can change to where Ai controls him but he can down. (Doesn't have to in this mode either if its too strong)
I know I know. I must like pain because of Ai.. lol. I just enjoy the possibilities.
Well I don't know if you where already around there, but they tried to go away from the slugging. Problem was that she was suddenly able to injure an entire team without real counterplay, and you could also down 1 person additionally. It didn't even have a huge cooldown xD
I feel like the ai-version sounds interessting but only if they fix him being stuck before - please don't let him be nemesis zombies xD

Don't you see? It's obvious that firstly there is a huge FOV, and also the map realm tampering with another maps realm, there is no such reshade to change the realm of the maps so much, I watched that new Kytos video and he is definitely using cheats to create such "beautiful" content and tbh I liked such visual changes🔥
The maps are completely normal, it just looks huge and of course pretty distorted because of the insane fov. Also if it's reshade it's not a cheat, bhvr allowed people to use it and as far as I know they did not specify anything you can't do why it - so no matter if it's a cheat morally for you, it's not a cheat regarded to bhvr.

Basically the above. My matches have been absolutely miserable since the event ended, and the only way to get anywhere at all is to be so tryhard and mean that I stop being able to have fun. My theory is that only the super hardcore players who weren't even in the event queue are still around and everyone else has left: hopefully people come back for the Walking Dead chapter. No queries or solutions, just want to vent.
My matches where also horrible yesterday.
I played the first time again after the event yesterday and holy:
I started in with 3,5k, 5,4k and I believe 2,4k hours as swf with 4 times dh, ub, ds, 3 times the weird taurie perk and 1 time deli. Obviously I lost hard with my full aura build on huntress xD
Next 2 games where also swfs judging on the way they always stood pefectly behind objects in my directions. Of course it could also be that they simply knew pretty good where I am, but that was so consistent I doubt that xD
Well in the end I'm probably just used to the event, I just have to play for a while and then it should get a lot better again. I'm also kinda happy that I actually get people again that have a good hourcount, it's kinda funny but also not that interesting to play against people that obviously can't do much xD

Clown is one of my least played killers in the game due to how difficult he seems to be to master and i was wondering, what is a good beginner build/add-on combo to use on Clown for players who don't play him much?
I don't really play him but he's honestly nothing special regarded to different playstyle that would require different perks.
He should be pretty okay with a standart m1-build - I personally play something like bbq, pop (or surge), brutal strength and bamboozle.
Only other thing I heard from the 300 pages clown guide was that zanshin tactics is great on him, because he can see where to throw bottles from distance then.

im talking about the bugs not the balance
so many killers are bugged its borderline unappealing to play not to mention the horrible rubberbanding that has been going on lately
from the fact that sadako has been legally blind and has buggy tv icons for i think months now? to vector bouncing off to the fact pig traps literally refuse to trigger because a survivor is searching the box (yes that's a bug) to wesker getting denied grabs with his power and so many more
i know im a nobody and me simply quitting won't effect the game but tbh the fact dbd is in the 8th spot in steam charts and a buggy mess along with the rise of cheaters again is just a shame…
also not sure if this is the rubberbanding or something else but u can miss a survivor while u are literally right behind them or while vaulting even tho it should have hit
ngl…call me bais but why do i feel like bugs that effect the survivors negatively always get fixed instantly while killers always takes months (nemi was able to hit survivor inside lockers with his power was almost instantly patched, while wesker was still able to softlock himself using his power in 2 v 8, meanwhile finess is still bugged )
its feels unfair sometimes….
not to mention some of you side with cheaters because someone DARED to play a killer u dislike
like dude…i understand u hate the killer but siding with a loser that payed for cheats its just another whole level of idioticty and u will get banned since u are helping a cheater
I actually don't find many bugs or cheaters.
Last bug I remember was with singularity that the sound when you are in his cam constantly played.
Last cheater I remember was someone on farmhouse, she flew around a bit and made it sometimes harder to hook, but in the end she was pretty easy to down even if I couldn't hook her and didn't even softlock me xD
Ps: I have a blast playing huntress in a moment, my shots at moment are pretty good xD

So when Ghoul came out, I immediately got him to prestige 6. I love Tokyo Ghoul. It was one of the first anime I watched and have quite a few a good chunk of the manga as well. Kaneki for a long time, was also one of my favorite protagonist so seeing him in Dead by Daylight and being able to play as him is a dream come true.
At first, I had no problem playing him even after the widespread hate against him, and being considered an unfair killer. For a good bit, I haven't touched him because I do feel a bit guilty given how unfun he is to play against, but I do want to play him.
On the one hand, I do know someone will probably tell me I should do what I want. Its a character I love and want to play, plus I obviously paid for them, but on the other hand I'll be told I shouldn't touch the character at all. That I should wait for the next set if adjustments before playing again.
You said it yourself: just play him if you like him.
People in this game always find something they don't like, no matter if it's perks, maps, addons, items or strategies - in the end you should play what you want and makes fun for you, I mean you don't play this game to make other people have fun but for you to have fun xD
(Of course you should probably expect a few people to be slightly unkind then, but that's nothing new. Besides that I find it really funny to get insulted in dbd, some people are really creative xD)

I'd love to agree to that, but sadly I saw people with 5k hours that were muuuuuch worse than some with a few 100 hours xD
Those people aside I agree, the longer you play the more time you had to develope musclemomory, feeling for the movement and also knowledge. Often people ragequit simply because they didn't know hits are possible like this xD

I just had a survivor match with a Springtrap on Greenville and we had this Dwight who was using invisibility hacks (he also had an inappropriate name). At the end of the match I wanted to report the Dwight, but it has been a while since I reported someone and I was trying to remember how to report, and when I did eventually figured out how to report, I accidentally reported the killer. I eventually reported the Dwight but I feel bad that I reported the killer. Is there any way that I can take back that report on the killer?
I don't think it's possible to take them back, but I don't believe it even matters. If actually all people that said it reported me, then I got reported for wallhacks a lot.
I normally have a full aura build on huntress and general a good idea where they hide, so it looks sometimes a little bit weird from outside xD

I think the person wants a more stricter MMR system then, since i can confirm that the difficulty scaling or however mmr scales is designed poorly but i did get an official answer related to MMR and its getting some positive changes in phase 1 and 2.
So hopefully the game will generally match you with same playtime players than just alone mmr points since if you ask me its highly unfair lets say you started the game, but prior you owned the game or had it but never really played just saw videos and streamers play so you then get a lot of wins in start, its unfair for matchmaking to put you with people that are 1k - 10k hours with same winrate or againts 3 to 4 stack swfs.
But thats just me honestly
Yeah it is indeed a little bit weird, but I still like it more than old matchmaking. But to be honest I don't know if I'd maybe like it more with my playtime now, I mean I only had a few 100 hours at that time - so now it could be more fun xD

Ok…
So on to my second point… Unranked and Ranked… good or bad
I tend to start as casual… but as I learn more I tend to get competitive once I reach a certain level
If your question is if I think it would be good like this: I'd prefer having two modes. At the moment they try to balance somewhere in between but don't really appeal to any of the two sides 100%. If they'd split it they could have both sides happy (of course depends on the people lol).
I'm in almost all multiplayer-games competetive, at least if it's pvp. I mean for what do I play against people if I don't want to win? I could also play pve then xD

I highly doubt something like MmR exists. It's just word people use, but nothing more than that.
If MMR actually existed, you would never ever had a situation during one session one game you have guys with 10k hours, and then literally next one a guy who just installed the game. It's impossible if something like MmR existed.
It exists for sure:
My girlfriend started with much easier and more fitting people against her. I can remember that I played against people with several 100 to 1000 hours with not even 10.
The matchmaking simply isn't very strict.
-
@RaSavage42 said:
Hiding it has the opposite effect… just as I figured
Anyway…. so are you suggesting an unranked and a ranked gamemodes
Cause doing that "will split the playerbase"
No it works pretty well, people that really just play casual and don't care at all how good they are, don't have a number somewhere that tells them they now have to be good or insecure. (I personally never understood that problem, but some did care about it I suppose).
Honestly that would be the best, we have two sides of people already:
- People playing goofy and casual, maybe even with friends just wanting to have fun without stress - the result isn't that relevant.
- People playing competetive, they have fun to win games and probably also want to see their mmr or stats to show how good they are - the result is obviously really relevant, even between 3k and 4k.
- (I suppose you could also say there's a neutral side in the middle, but they might or might not feel better with the balancing of ether side.)
With that in place we could balance them differently:
Obviously you could change almost everything, but in general tunneling, camping and slugging could be turned down in normal mode for the start. They could also balance it for your mistakes to be less heavy. People that play competetive don't have a problem with that usually, you could even put perk bans for everyone in place depending on role and character as well as maps - it's pretty common in comp dbd and works actually pretty well for what I saw.
