But Grades don't mean Rank; Rank hasn't existed for years now. Being "a Rank 1 Killer" doesn't mean anything now. I agree you don't HAVE to be a jerk to win the game, but I really think, since you're a Survivor Main who admittedly seems to play only strong Killers like Spirit, you might be biased here; a hybrid Main like me might see these issues or a Killer Main might see these issues and understand the other side of it where you may not. You simply might not have the full picture here of why SOME people who play weaker Killers do these tactics. That of course is an issue with things like map design, speed of rounds, and Killer powers that need addressing.
If you hate these tactics that much, you should be first on the front lines to suggest changes to make these things unnecessary, not just further punishments that could hit people not even DOING those things. Otherwise we get half-measures and moved goalposts like what happened with the AFC.
But none of this has to do with the thread's initial topic, that being that you believe that gaming bot AI is somehow some kind of exploit. It's not, it's not bannable, and if it were the Devs would say something. You made the claim this is an exploit. Nobody here agrees it is. The burden of proof is now on YOU to prove this IS in fact some kind of game exploit that isn't intentional. And you still haven't even answered my simple question as a result:
What makes using bots to counter a last ditch time wasting strategy, or playing around bot AI at all, an exploit? Simply answer how it's an exploit to play around bots like this. Because you've so far said a lot of arguing and complaining that the bots somehow aren't fair, but not a lot of explaining of how and why it's not fair. You think Spirit is a strong killer? She's very slow outside of her power and can't hit over pallets like many newer killers can. She's fun but far from strong compared to whats in the game now.
It doesn't mater if grades don't mean rank. You get there the same way you did before, by earning pips. You have to chase survivors and slow down gen progression on top of getting 4k if you want to get 2 pips as killer. That isn't exactly the easiest thing to do especially with Spirt. I'm not being bias when I make a suggestion to have bots be able to read situations better. I know now from the killer perspective that playing like this is completely unnecessary. If someone like me who has been very critical of the killer side of this game and hardly ever played killer can get to rank 1 with also owning less than half of the killers and their perks then I highly doubt the more experienced killer mains need to go this far to try and secure a 4k. You'd probably get a 4k in your next match by the time the match you're doing this is in over. Its a waste of time.
So do you know what the word exploit means? I never said this needs to be reportable. I said it needs to be balanced. When the human element is removed from this situation the killer can easily take advantage of it. It then becomes a balance issue because match progression is far more likely to happen with 2 real players than it is with just 1 and a bot in this situation. That progression can either be in favor of the survivor or killer. Playing around bot AI in this manner is an exploit because there is no human element involved on the bot side. A human can read this situation and respond to it in a natural way. A bot can't. They can only be programmed to respond to the situation better. If the killer knows this, they can exploit the situation to their advantage in an unnatural way. That is when it becomes a problem that needs to be balanced

I think anything is possible in DBD at this point. They've already branched out past the horror theme with collabs so I guess it doesn't matter anymore.

You seem to be projecting things I didn't say here.
I agree, bots aren't "supposed" to be there, they're a last ditch method because people rightfully complained that DCing felt bad to everyone Killer included left in the round - Survivors had no chance to come back and Killers got an artificially easy round which was no fun for anyone. The bots were directly added to combat this unfairness, people ASKED for something to halt this. So saying that they're "unnatural" just doesn't hold water, they're there to prevent the truly unnatural thing of a 3v1 at 5 gens because someone's mad the Killer chose to play Plague today, and arguably a self-end on Hook at 1 hook is the same. Exact. Thing.I also don't see how a player capitalizing on the other side doing something dumb like DCing or ending themselves on hook because one of them got mad at something is them "exploiting" anything, rather it's really just seeing an opening and taking it… kinda like Survivors do all the time with setups for stuff like pallet saves and whatnot. That's my entire point. Why is it exploitative to say, tunnel a bot out (giving the humans a chance for points or to win and is the Killer DIRECTLY throwing, which I'm sure we agree is much fairer and kinder to the humans who want enough of a game) but not to purposefully set someone up in main to counter Ghostface's power, run around on trap or box duty against Pinhead or Trapper, or otherwise "exploit" stuff only a SWF can do? Those are all advantageous tools and all fair game. I think you would even agree those are fair game and capitalizing on someone making an error. Why is that "something you are just supposed to do" but dealing with bots not "something the Killer is just supposed to do"?
Why exactly is it even a problem if the Killer continues as normal just because someone else decided to throw a tantrum and DC? The Killer didn't make them DC. Half the time if I simply load in as Pinhead people will DC before I even find anyone, and sometimes people DC just because I countered their looping build with a mindgame. I've had people self end on first hook because they missed a flashbang blind, thus ruining the round for my team. Do you really expect the Killer to stop, let you all go, and just throw when someone does this because "using bots is exploitative"? Well, does that then mean Pinhead using his Chain Hunt chains is "exploitative" when that's not their purpose, or Ghostface using Killer Instinct from Reveal is "exploitative" because Reveal is supposed to be a punishment? Would you as Survivor just throw if you saw someone DC, or would you try to play what's left of the round and scrape up what's left?Who is to blame when someone DCs? Because I don't think the Killer is really the one responsible for that any more than you or your teammates are. And I have seen my teammates DC for some really, really petty reasons, so is it REALLY the Killer's fault if they continue as normal and still want to have a game with the others left over? How is it "an exploit" to play the game as normal if you have a bot, and how is it "an exploit" to use the bot in this manner to find people when Killer powers can do the exact same? Is that not just a clever way to use a tool, the same as a CJ tech or a lockertech? If not, why is it different? Are you truly expecting the Killer to throw and ignore a bot, a thing that does gens efficiently all the time and has wallhacks around loops and thus is a serious threat to be taken out as soon as they can, despite them basically being a free kill? They want to progress their goal too. Why exactly ISN'T the Killer allowed to progress their goal in this way when it continues the game as designed and is frankly a lot healthier than slugging or camping or tunnelling a human player with actual hurtable feelings?
If anything, I think it's pretty clever people have figured out the bots and how to use them, and I think it makes the game MORE interesting to see how bots interact. Personally if I see a bot, someone gets out for free, and if I see several? Well I kill the bots and let the humans go. I think a lot of Killers are like that. But I don't think that means it's morally wrong or "an exploit" if someone uses bad AI this way, any more than a CJ or a lockertech are "an exploit." If the game allows it, why shouldn't it be considered valid?I'm also just gonna say it now because it looks like nobody has yet: Ranks do not exist anymore, they're Grades now, Grades don't mean anything except that you played and won a lot this month. it's not a marker of skill. It's not a marker of anything but playtime. Saying you're a "rank 1 Killer" doesn't mean anything and holds no actual clout anymore. I am not trying to be mean here, but that's just the truth, Grade Iri I both sides just means you get 2 million BP end of the month, congrats, you played a whole bunch and won - a thing that can be achieved by simply grinding out rounds until you get enough wins, made easier than ever since there aren't depips anymore.
The point of showing I am a rank 1 killer was to reiterate the fact that you don't have to play like a total jerk to win in this game. I'm a survivor main. I hate a lot of the things killer mains do to get a 4k. If you have to go so far out of your way to win in this game then is it even a game anymore to you?
The bots need AI improvement. They need to be able to read situations better so matches can progress in a more natural way rather than it coming down to these petty plays.

Been playing a lot of Myers this event and every time I hit T3 people go into lockers. Is everyone still just running into Tombstone Piece/Tombstone Myers?
Most survivors who have played against Myers even just a few times pretty much assume he's using tombstone. Lockers are the only way to avoid it, but then you also risk being left in the locker if they decide to be toxic. No one wants to deal with an addon that gives a killer so much power that its basically cheating. It is the most unfair thing to have to deal with a killer that can instantly eliminate you regardless of hook states just by pressing their basic attack.

So let me get this straight.
When Survivors use a thing that blows a Killer's cover, like say… listening for Chucky's Giggles or accidentally revealing Ghostie through a wall somehow, that's OK. If they use checkspots cleverly, it's okay.
But if a Killer uses a disconnect feature cleverly, it's somehow an exploit?
Maybe your team members need to stop DCing with the first down of the game.
Yes. A player disconnecting is not a feature that is part of natural play or match progression. Bots are not part of natural gameplay in an online game that is supposed to consist of real players. I find it interesting you went from trying to compare an unnatural element to things survivors are supposed to do against killers. You then tried to put the blame of survivors disconnecting on those who don't as if we have any power to stop other people from leaving a match.

I'm hoping they take Sable's twitch shirt design and put it in the shop with a few color options (without the twitch logo of course). As far as the shirts go I think they should give out way more than they do. I've been playing DBD for a few years now and haven't seen anyone with one of these in game as far as I can remember.

I assume for two reasons.
One, for this to happen, you're currently stealthing, and very committed to it.
Two, your other current topic in suggestions is asking for Evader emblems when you don't spend any time near the killer or in chase. I don't think it's a stretch to assume you wouldn't ask this unless this happened frequently enough to matter for you, and while games you don't interact with the killer do happen when you have a bad killer or very competent teammates… generally that doesn't occur on its own.
It paints a picture. But my real problem here is that you seem to think you're owed the hatch and it's unfair for the killer to pursue the win with the same dogged time-wasting tactics you're employing. I'm unconvinced by your use of 'forcing the survivor' because a.) this match, with a 2v1 with several gens left, is already essentially hopeless and the survivors have lost, so of course you're out of options and it's hatch or death, and b.) killers can force survivors to do a lot of things by design. They're the power role. If a killer is chasing you, the survivor is forced to run away. Nothing wrong with that. Unless you're slugged, hooked, or Incapacitated, you have agency in the match.
And once again. I do not think the bots actually matter in this scenario, because this can and does happen with two human survivors. I have already detailed this. It's not that rare to get down to two survivors left, one is hiding, and one isn't. Your complaint is, fundamentally, that the killer is not killing the non-hiding survivor to try and flush out the hiding one, which I have already explained would be a poor move for them to do if they want the 4k. You are refusing to address this and handwaving target prioritization as 'unnatural' gameplay.
And 'forced teaming' is not a thing unless you are claiming that a survivor being alive is teaming with the killer. Because yes, the killer is getting value out of that survivor being alive and hatch not spawning, but now you are accusing a survivor of a reportable offense for pursuing their primary objective of not dying. Bad, bad predecent. Like... what's a survivor supposed to do if a killer starts ignoring them, or won't commit to them? Point at the hook for fairness's sake? No. The survivor isn't responsible for what the killer does, and the killer isn't teaming with a player by merely not interacting with them. If a survivor runs in front of me with endurance and I don't hit them, am I teaming? If I run into a survivor three times in a row and decide to take pity on them and walk away, am I teaming? Your definition of teaming strips agency from the killer and expects them to play like a bot.
It'll never cease to amaze me how far people will make a stretch and assume anything to validate their opinions here.
My post about the Evader emblem has nothing to do with this. I escape maybe 1 out of every 10 matches I play and its probably because I actively don't avoid the killer. I go from gen to gen until either the gates are powered or until I'm dead. I'll cleanse totems in between if I think a hex totem is being used. The whole point of the post about the Evader emblem was to point out how it isn't fair to be that active in progressing the match and get no rank up just because the killer didn't interact with you during the match.
Nowhere have I ever said or implied that I am "owed the hatch" and again this goes back to the extreme bias people have here with jumping to assumptions rather than seeing the argument for fair play. You're trying to use the "you already lost so just give up" argument to validate your point. If all the killer has to do is eliminate 2 survivors to win then whats the point in playing survivor? This is a very weak argument that completely ignores the problems that are caused by situations like this. Killers using the bots this way is not natural gameplay. The bot can't read this situation so it'll just keep doing what its programmed to do. I hope you realize that in this situation if the real player tries to do gens to progress the match they will lose every single time. The killer has too much control in this situation and the survivor has no fair way to respond to it.
The only reason I can see for people being against my suggestion to have bots prioritize doing gens in this situation is because you don't want the game to be fair and you want this situation to continue to be exploitable. This entire problem would be fixed if the killer realizes that leaving the bot alive would put them at risk of losing. If the bot actively tries to do gens in this situation then it gives the other survivor a chance to do them too with a fair chance of progressing the match. The killer would have to engage one of them to slow down progress. How is this in any way not a fair suggestion? Its too easy for survivors to end up in hopeless situations in this game. I just want the chances of that happening to be less. Why do you think survivors give up on hooks or go afk in certain situations? Its because they know they're in a hopeless situation and the amount of work they'd have to do to even have a slight chance of escaping isn't worth it to them.
And by the way, I'm also a rank 1 killer and I never once did this in a match. I always give the last survivor a fair chance at escaping.

Square Enix will never allow Tifa to be in a game where she gets thrown on meat hooks and has her guts ripped out by Freddy Krueger. If Final Fantasy ever made it into DBD I imagine it would have to come from one of the M rated games like FF 16.

Then why do you complain?
Killer accepted your hiding game and found a way how to counter it.
If you don't want to hide, then you can show yourself to the killer and get a chase yourself, or just finish the gen.
If you want the hatch so much, you better have more patience than the killer.
Because this shouldn't be a problem to begin with. Forced teaming with a bot to lure out the last survivor isn't a counter. The last survivor has no option other than to give up in this situation so it rewards the killer for playing in an unnatural way.

He only can kill you if you or your teammate feed Myers that much stalk. So this addons just punish survivors mistake
Have you ever played Myers? I have. With no perks or addons I can get tier 3 from 2 survivors on a gen in a matter of seconds. It doesn't take as long as you think to get tier 3 evil within even with this addon. This isn't punishing survivors for making a mistake. Evil within doesn't go down over time. Survivors cannot hide indefinitely from his sight and still progress the match. Once he gets tier 3 its game over if you have more than 1 gen left to do. I've seen many Shape players get tier 3 with this addon at 5 gens still up. This addon is a problem.

It creates unique and fun game changing element so its okay.
Those "unique and fun" game changing elements give this killer a power boost that could literally be considered cheating if it wasn't part of the game. This addon replaces this killer's basic attack with an instant kill ability that can also last the entire match when paired with the other addon that gives infinite tier 3. We're not talking about an instant down. This is literal game over you're dead because this killer pressed M1 next to you. Its beyond ridiculous.

Its not a problem. It creates alternative way to kill. You can hooked survivors or very long stalking them until they became morible. And many people say it punish survivors for nothing. Well no, cause survivors feed Myers that much stalk points so he can kill them
Its a problem. An ADDON, not a perk or power, allows this killer to eliminate survivors with or without hook states. This should have never been added to the game.

The problem with tombstone is that it is not balanced around an objective based 1v4 game like this. If there was a respawn mechanic for survivors then it would be, but then the whole game would have to be changed.

The survivor isn't also progressing the match by hiding rather than doing gens. If I waste all my time chasing the bot, that's free time for the survivor to do gens.
The killer doesn't have to do this when there are 3+ gens still left to do. All I am asking for is for the bots to be able to read this situation better so they can actively try to do gens which would force the killer to treat the bot the same way they would treat a real player. Bots shouldn't be able to be exploited this way.

…You're the one invoking the double standard, though. You're the one saying the killer is exploiting and shouldn't be allowed to prolong the match like this, but in the same thread you're saying the survivor can wait as long as they want because they want to win.
Both players can do this. Because they want to win. That doesn't mean anyone has to like it. And they generally don't, which is why you're getting so many killers that are determined to hunt you down with extreme prejudice after you play stealth games. You're running into people that are just as stubborn as you are and getting upset that they're not giving you the easy escape, but they have the exact same complaint that you're not rolling over and giving you the easy kill.
There's a big difference between saying 'this tactic is scummy/annoying and I don't like it' and going to suggestions and saying 'this shouldn't be allowed and has to be fixed.' Once more, I really don't understand why the bot in this situation makes this different when a human survivor can and will behave the same way.
Why are you assuming that the reason why this happens to me, or anyone, is because the survivor played a stealth game? I hardly ever play like this. I am a gen to gen survivor player. I'm always out in the open where the killer can see me. This isn't a double standard. This is killer players forcing the last real survivor into a situation they have no power over because of how the bots work. All I am asking for is some bot improvement so the killer can't use them in a forced teaming situation.

"acceptable at juking ranged killers", heh
I remember the time they were unacceptably good at it
This is why bot AI needs to be improved. Once a player leaves they're not part of the equation anymore. It doesn't give the killer a free pass to then exploit the bots to their advantage. Getting mad at the leaver isn't going to solve the problem. All of the weight shouldn't have to fall on the shoulders of the last real player while the killer can just keep the bot off gens until they find you.

They do want to hide. I've had games where they hid for 30 minutes before finally giving up. Often, survivors are salty from getting stomped and are hiding to spite me.
If the killer actively decides to not progress the match by avoiding the bot and also keeping the bot from doing gens then the survivor isn't doing anything wrong in responding to that in this way. If the killer really doesn't want to have a hatch race and is willing to go that far not to do it, then they shouldn't complain when survivors do this. Why do killers get a pass on this but survivors are expected to basically give the match to the killer?

I shouldn't be punished for that.
But you aren't punished. You can't de-pip anymore, so you're no longer punished for going against a killer below your level; you're just not rewarded for it.
There are three types of rewards given in each match. There are Bloodpoints for performing actions. There's XP which is a reward for your time spent in the match. And there are Emblems which reward playing in a manner that takes not just yourself but your teammates and the killer into account. If you play in a match against someone at your own level, the emblems happen pretty naturally. If you play against someone below your level, it doesn't happen naturally because you're stomping the killer and it's not going to give you a pip on top of the easy win. The emblem system doesn't punish you for bad matches with a de-pip, but it also doesn't reward people who tank their MMR on purpose for easy wins (and some players do do this, it used to be a huge problem).
You got Bloodpoints, XP, and a win out of the match you showed a screencap for. You didn't de-pip. Three different rewards for that match and no punishment.
I have almost 4000 hours in DBD. I don't care about BPs or XP anymore. Those come naturally just from playing the game. I'm not saying I should get a iri Evader in this situation, but I also shouldn't get little to nothing either. At the very least it should be a silver emblem for escaping without being touched by the killer.

They don't want to hide. They also don't want to lose. This is the problem in this situation. A bot can't read a situation it isn't programmed to read. 2 real players in this situation could attempt to work together to either do the gens or interact with the killer in ways a bot wouldn't. You basically just helped support my point in that this is a problem and bot AI needs improvement.

…That's not teaming, though. Teaming is when the other player is helping the killer win - searching for you, pointing out your location, trapping you.
The bot is just being selfish and derpy. It'd be teaming if the bot kept running to you for heals and the killer was using that to locate you, but it sounds like the bot is just wasting time and not progressing the game. I don't really see why what the bot is doing is any different from what you're doing in this scenario, except you're a human player and the bot can't enjoy a win.
Thats why I said forced teaming… Bots can't team with the killer, but the killer can team with the bot as they did in this situation.

How soon did you hook Kate when the match started? Some survivor mains will read a situation like this as the match being more difficult than they care to deal with. Either that, or they'll feel like the first survivor caught was basically dead weight and didn't care to wait out another 4k at 3 gens.

Because the game doesn't feel the need to encourage people to interact with gens, and whether or not survivors do interact with gens doesn't affect the generators' gameplay experience. The gens aren't players. Just like people say tunneling survivors is different from gen-rushing because survivors are players and gens aren't. The killer matters in that they're a player and the game wants you to interact with the opposing player.
It's not a single player game, it's not a gen repair sim. Sitting on a gen hitting skill checks isn't difficult whereas keeping the killer busy in chase while gens get done does take skill. Pipping is supposed to mean you had a challenging match and did well. I don't see how a match where you never saw the killer could be challenging enough to be pip-worthy. I've had matches where two or three survivors came in with the intention of messing with the killer, and they kept the killer busy the entire match while I did gens and the match was definitely not challenging for me.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3752047#Comment_3752047
The point is, this emblem's progression is problematic and forces survivors to play the game in an unnatural way in this situation to gain progress.
Needing to play the game in an "unnatural way" shouldn't be a common situation because you should be facing killers who are challenging, and a challenging killer will require you to interact with them.
The pip system is structured to reward you for playing against opponents at your level. If killers stomp survivors who are way below their level and don't present a challenge, the killers' pips also suffer. Because why do players need to be rewarded with a pip on top of an easy win?
Edit: I do agree with the earlier sentiment from someone else that long chases should be rewarded. I actually thought they already were rewarded, and I thought killers were penalized for long chases. Sometimes it's hard to tell with this game's black box of an emblem system, though.
You have yet to make any good argument as to why I should throw myself before the killer just so I can make sure I get Evader points. This is not a survivor problem. Its a game problem. The Evader emblem needs to be reworked so that its progress happens more naturally. It happens naturally to an extent, but if I do 3+ gens and escape without ever coming in contact with the killer I shouldn't be punished for that.

Don't think you can really call a killer toxic for simply using the fact the bots are easy to distract/catch to ensure they have the time to catch you and win the game...
In this same scenario I'd be cursing the quitter ahead of the killer.
I absolutely can call the killer toxic for this. What they did was basically forced teaming by taking advantage of bot AI. This is a problem that more killers will exploit unless bot AI is improved.

I can’t really take the people saying she’s not a good fit seriously. TR has always had horror elements too it and that was ramped up in 2013 which is the game her appearance is based on.
She’s also been toted as ‘survivor Lara’ through that trilogy. So yeah to me she fits a lot better than the likes of Nicholas Cage, Singularity , skill merchant, Jonah, Renato etc.
I think the reason why people are criticizing the choice is because they wanted other franchises to make it into DBD way more than something like TR. You can make a stretch for TR being in DBD, but something like Friday the 13th or FNAF just makes way more sense. People will still buy and play Lara Croft because of how popular the character is, but the vibe and hype difference compared to an iconic horror franchise is very different.

If killer have no terror radius for most of the time, it's hard to be in his terror radius.
And if I'm the only person who is doing gens, I should not be forced to interact with the killer even if teammates are on death hooks.
Emblems should be available for players playing the game not just for certain scenarios.
Yep. Exactly this. People keep looking past the point I was making. I was the player progressing the match. I wasn't trying to hide from the killer. It just didn't happen for most of the match for me. You get Lightbringer points for running the killer while others are doing gens if I remember, so why can't Evader work the same way? Seems like a very one sided system.

What? She's my favorite version of Lara Croft. 😁 I still think she's very far at the bottom of the list of characters that fit in DBD's world. The thought of her coming to DBD would've never crossed my mind if not for that thread and she's certainly not a character I'd actively ask for to be in the game.

But you also should not get points for doing absolutely nothing when you did not even see the killer the entire match, the category should not be a free pip when you did nothing to achieve it, I think the basic idea is alright... Hide or get chased.
You just proved my point. The category is the problem. Not the player. There is no argument to be made that makes any sense for a survivor to stop doing a generator and run to the killer just so you can hide in their terror radius for points in a category. In fact that is gameplay sabotage because getting Evader points in this regard does nothing but put the team at risk of being eliminated since its one less survivor progressing the match. Like really think about what you're saying here.

Lightbringer rewards progressing the match. Altruism rewards helping your teammates. Unbroken rewards protecting yourself. And Evader rewards interacting with the killer, whether that's actual chase or just being in his terror radius. The killer is the opposition. I imagine most people don't play survivor to sit on gens, they play it to verse the killer, and only one emblem is even based on killer interaction.
Reaching iri 1 is the best it's ever been since we can no longer de-pip. I suck at survivor and even I'm iri 1 right now. If getting even a silver in Evader is a consistent problem for you, then that's an issue with your playstyle. If it's not a consistent problem and it's just this one match where you feel robbed, well, we all have matches like that with all the emblems. I hate getting to the end of a match and seeing I was a hair off in one emblem from getting a pip.
I wish we could see our emblem progress within the match. That would help a lot.
Gens are necessary. Altruism is necessary. Unbroken happens naturally from literally avoiding the killer, and then Evader punishes you for it. It makes absolutely no sense at all. There is no logic or reason to hinder match progression to gain points in Evader if I just so happen to not have the killer chase me during the match. Perhaps in these situations, progress in the other emblems should count towards progress in Evader. Even still, altruism doesn't always happen a lot for every survivor. The point is, this emblem's progression is problematic and forces survivors to play the game in an unnatural way in this situation to gain progress.

https://deadbydaylight.fandom.com/wiki/Emblems
Isn't what you are asking for already in the game? You get points towards the emblem system for being in the killers terror radius? Is it just about the amount?
The problem I have with the Evader emblem is that its too situational and circumstantial to be an emblem category. If a survivor has a match where they don't interact with the killer very much they shouldn't lose out on points because of that. The evader emblem should probably be replaced with something else or be reworked to gain progress from other ways than just killer interaction or being near the killer. Survivors shouldn't have to follow the killer around to be in their terror radius for points when its more valuable for the team to be progressing the match.

I don’t know if people have asked on this forum, but I have seen her mentioned on Reddit years ago. She was definitely wanted by some people for a long time.
Yea, but the amount of people who have talked about wanting Jason Voorhees in DBD for example compared to how many want Lara Croft is probably like a thousand to one.

I was just describing a situation where you are basically supposed to do that...
I don't think every game needs to give you a pip depending on how it went...
Survivors should be rewarded for surviving. Its very hard to get a pip once you get into red ranks. You can have a very long match and not even get a pip its so hard. Its really frustrating to go through a match like that and get nothing for it other than BPs.

I'm still waiting on Frank West from Dead Rising, especially now that Dead Rising 1 is getting a remake. I'll also take Rick Grimes from The Walking Dead, and Dale Cooper from Twin Peaks, and RJ MacReady from The Thing. I'll even take someone from House of the Dead, like Agent G. The list goes on and on and on.
You know what would be a dream? Ben, from the original The Night of the Living Dead.
Yea. There's so many franchises they could try to work with that would enhance DBD's world in the genre of horror. DBD is a vibe check with its characters, and Lara Croft being in the game messes with that vibe. Its like if they tried to put Pokemon into a Street Fighter game. It just doesn't make sense.

there have been plenty of people in this community asking for Lara Croft to be added though?
Definitely way more than people were asking for Nicolas Cage and also for a pretty long time already..
I have never once seen a person ask for Lara Croft to be added to this game. What would be the point? People will play her, but with a list miles long of iconic horror franchises that could come to this game I feel like Tomb Raider wouldn't even be part of that conversation.

To some degree you should, if everyone else ist dead on hook then you should take two hook stages to prolong the game turning into a 3v1…
This makes no sense at all. And what if everyone isn't dead on hook? Again, this is about having to force myself to interact with the killer regardless of the situation just to get points in evader. If I remember most of us escaped that match. I had no need to do this.

Nope, I don't think stealthy playstyle should be encouraged like that, it is just the most boring experience ever as killer to have to check for people hiding bushes and what not, especially given that tracking perks can be fully avoided with the right perk layout... Aimlessly wandering around the map without finding anybody because everybody runs distortion calm spirit is one of the worst experiences in the game.
Stealthy? I was just doing gens the entire time while the killer was chasing everyone else. What am I supposed to do? Run up to the killer and hope they chase me instead? As I said, I shouldn't have to FORCE an interaction with the killer to gain progress in Evader.
-
The moment I got into red ranks almost all of the event matches have been killers trolling or just doing everything they can to make the game miserable as possible for survivors.
-
I'm starting to feel like collabs like this are more for the devs and not for us. I can't imagine Tomb Raider ever being something the community would want or even consider for this game. They went with modern Lara too, which is almost as bad as unified Lara. I'm a Tomb Raider fan too, but this isn't it.
-
Lara Croft being announced for DBD just seemed weird to me. They also went with the more modern version of Lara which in my opinion is one of her worst designs ever both in looks and personality. There are so many iconic horror characters they could focus on getting into the game and they for some reason went for Tomb Raider.

Yea I noticed some of them are recolors of their default shirts but with Sable this top is a unique design. I'd like to see it added to her shop options with a few color choices.

This is a surefire way to make Blood Warden meta again.
Or maybe a surefire way of encouraging more team play. If someone's going to hide near a 99% gate thinking they're helping then maybe a few blood warden matches will give them a reality check.

@GolbezGarlandGabrant said:
Dying because of the exit gates being not open is extremely rare and even if the gates were open it sounds close enough you still probably would have been caught.
It doesn't sound like your team may have knew you were running at the gates to save you. Uncoordinated SoloQ issue.
I already addressed this. For one, it is not extremely rare. Survivors 99ing the gates has been a common thing for years. I mean if you want I can start taking screenshots of every time I see a 99% gate and post them here but I feel like this is common knowledge. It doesn't matter if my team knew I was running to the gates or not. They left the gate at 99% which resulted in me dying. This isn't about coordination because there is nothing to coordinate in this situation. You get more than enough time to deal with everything once the gates are open, especially if survivors are hooked.
-
@VomitMommy said:
So nerf everyone because of soloQ?
This would also make escapes after closed hatch more difficult.
There could be exceptions in certain situations like this one. When someone makes a suggestion for a change it doesn't mean it has to ignore all possible situations. Obviously if you're the last survivor this mechanic shouldn't activate.

Where was teammates then?
I, personally, have never such situation. Most of the time survivor who 99 gate, either opens it while another one is running, or takes hit while running surv opens gate, and all of us escapes. Only situations where I died because taping 99 gate to open with, was situations where rest of the team died for various reasons, and in most of those I would die either way due to collapse.
Where were my teammates? They're usually either at or hiding near the exit gate thinking they are helping. I get downed then they freak out, open the gate and run out. Either that, or they are already out of the match. It doesn't happen every time, but when you solo que you can't expect your team to have more than 5 seconds of situational awareness.
