You lost 70% of your matches at this moment, yet the balance of the game will not be focused solely on each individual. If you are losing more than 50%, your MMR should drop and if it still remains that way... maybe analyze your own gameplay.
-
That just sounds like bad game design, adding random skillchecks to actions isn't engaging or fun gameplay.
Want to balance it out more; reduce pallet amounts, make more 'unsafe' aka fair ones, smaller maps, a begin of game collapse, make basic gen regression worth the kick, etc.

It can benefit up to four people, but four Survivors in such a small radius is a win for The Killer. Especially with Infectious Fright or Whispers. It doesn't make sense for Survivors to huddle together. The Boon Totems don't stack, so it would be a waste for people to run nine Boon Perks. I'm afraid I have to disagree that Boon Perks are that compelling. Besides the fact it takes a second to snuff but 24s to bless. Hexes are much more game-changing and devastating. If you want Boons to become a one-time snuff, they would need to be powerful, game-changing, and global. Not to mention they would need more time investment from The Killer to snuff.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2546742#Comment_2546742
The devs announced some nerfs to Boons' radius and stacking, so I won't address those points.
I wouldn't rely on Hex Totems; it is a gamble, as I stated. Sometimes they get cleansed in seconds, and other times they provide tremendous value and halt the trial. On the multi-level, it's no different than getting hit with The Doctor's Static Blast and many Killer Perks. So to be consistent, they would need to change killer powers and perks that are multi-level. As players, you have to make decisions and hope it's worth the effort. It takes a second to snuff, so it's hardly a time sink. That's part of player agency. Regarding Boon Perks, maybe the next killer will offer some options. I can see stuff like a Hex Perk with The Entity blocking totems or even a general perk like Corrupt Intervention that blocks dull totems for X minutes at the start or after gen completes.
Get your facts straight:
- It takes 24 seconds to OVERRIDE a HEX totem! It does not affect dull totem blessing.
- Survivors should not all 4 huddle around one area, but they can simply run to it when injured for instance to benefit from the healing and they can setup this safe heaven for instance in an area where generators already have been completed... meaning that if the killer follows you there, the rest of your team can do generators! Sounds like a very much win condition to me. Wasting the killers time is extremely strong, as this whole game is about time management. It might take a second to snuff it out... but they also need to get there, pick your totems wisely and you will waste a ton of time. Running to the other side of where the gens are to be occupied by one survivor, if they don't follow you... you can heal yourself without wasting time of any of the other survivors and nullifying the initial chase and hit. For them to find someone else who does the exact same thing!
- They do not stack meaning that if the team blesses totems near each other they no longer provide multiple times to effect and therefore encourages them to spread them out to affect a bigger area instead, as the effects on the boons are by themselves already strong. Expanding the area that survivors are under the influence of said totems and therefore reducing the need to huddle up as you call it.
- Hexes are strong... but they can also be destroyed permanently, boons are able to applied limitless amount of times and are strong as well. Literally the boons provide effects that literally you gain the equivalent of 2 perks for a single slot and remove the downsides for a time investment of setting it up and the killer potentially removing it... until you set it up again without any limitation to how many times you do that. Circle of healing gives Self Care without the penalty, it provides a We will make it buff without the need to unhook or a time limit... like seriously how would you claim that is not a strong effect!
- Boons even benefits SWF's far more than it benefits solo survivors and increasing the gap between the two even more, which really is not desirable at all. They are team buffs and abilities, while that might be nice in solo it is incredibly strong in SWF formats and that is in the game... you cannot ignore that aspect of Survivor in an analysis if something is good or not.
-
You rage quit and lost all sympathy.
Being chased and targeted by the killer is part of the game, it is even the aspect many claim is the best part of it. Keep the killer distracted while the rest does the gens and if the killer wants to try and kill you, that is their role. They are trying a tactic, even it might not have worked out for them it is still a valid choice for them to make. There isn't a need for a perk... there are multiple perks that you can use and 3 other people that could help you out.
-
The logic that SB is superior than DH is factually untrue... else people would be using it over DH.
-
By this logic all perks are bad for killers and survivors, except No Mither I guess... as they enhance your chances to win.
There is nothing cheesy about using NOED, at least no more or less than any of the second chance perks in the game.
-
Corrupt Intervention and Pop is a staple for most of my killers, I prefer it over Ruin for stability reasons.
Sometimes I try other slowdowns like anti healing on some killers or the occasional devour hope builds, but they are very much a hit or miss.
Some type of slowdown is just a must.

Until if and when cleansed, Hex Totems have no range limit and impact every Survivor in perpetuity. The effects are often powerful and devastating, which is why they can be cleansed and eliminated. Sometimes they bring tremendous value to a Trial, but it's a gamble as intended. Boon Totems don't have that power, and they have range limitations. It would be one thing if a Boon Totem had global reach and more exciting bonuses for every Survivor anywhere on the map.
You have 4 survivors though with 16 perk slots available between them, the totem benefits 4 people versus it provides one person with it. Not to mention the ability to have multiple people search for it, cover more ground and eliminate it.
Hex Undying was to powerful because cleansing 5 totems was too much... boons limit is infinite?
Boons do not have that type of power? Self healing, double healing speeds... not powerful? This is the equivalent of an endless supply of med kits or a we will make it and self care that even stacks. if you don't believe this is strong, I don't even...
This is a 1v4 game... if you want to have a proper one for one equivalency: take the effect for a survivor and multiply it by 4 to match what a killer should have.

Should there be more than just Kills and Escapes? Yes, absolutely.
Is BHVR capable of coding that complicated of a system? Probably not.
It actually isn't that difficult, from the stats they provide they clearly are capable of tracking specifics in the game... after that it is just deciding the weight value it has and putting it in an algorithm.
The issue is that it means they have to define what type of playstyle and actions actually make you a good player. For killers it can be anything from chase time till pallet break/hit, hooks and kills. For survivors it becomes more difficult and most likely would need to be time spent on gens, healing, in chase vs match duration.
The main question is whether BHVR would be willing to define what actually makes a good player, the goal of a survivor is to get as many players as possible out... their personal escape rate is not necessarily a requirement and frankly is a bad gage as it stands.

I am genuinely surprised at all the comments on this post. It's a GAME. A GAME. YOU'RE NOT AN ACTUAL MURDERER. THIS ISN'T REAL.
You're not a brutal killer, you're an ordinary person sitting in front of a computer screen playing an online game with other people. You're not "making them suffer", you are playing a game. Jesus.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2538977#Comment_2538977
I myself play in a very fair manner too, as I mentioned, never going for the unhooked. And I get 4ks consistently. I let the unhooked survivor leave safely because I feel like I am in control, so my "good deed" can't go punished. If I feel insecure during the match, then I go for the vulnerable person. Just don't tunnel when you don't have to.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2538754#Comment_2538754
This post is coming from a killer's perspective. But sure buddy.
It is a game it is a game, yet you are so upset that someone tries and plays efficiently. The hypocrisy of these type of posts is astonishing, when do Survivors show any concern about the fun the killer is having? If it is all a game, why do we see more posts of how stressful, unfun, unrelenting it is to playing killer?
You might feel in control, but how many hours do you have, how many hours do your opponents have? The fact in this game is that Survivor's are the actual people in control, if they unhook in front of your face... why is that the killers problem? Do you ever see people go... the killer is overcommitting to a chase, lets stop working on gens? Lets not tap that gen and let it regress to zero? That gen at 80% lets start a new one, because the killer took time to kick it? Lets be real here, skilled players will capitalize on the mistakes made by the other team and use opportunities presented to them. Your notion that they are not skilled or good is false.
-
Hhhmmm... I already don't win all my matches and believe that is fine.
If I am right there and you unhook, why exactly should I not hit the injured person in front of me? When I win, even when I tunnel and camp... I deserved it and feel no less or more proud of it.
If I lose and did not punish then when doing things like unhooking in my face, it feels worse. As it just highlights the fact that you should punish mistakes of survivors.
Those that believe that tunneling and camping is purely on the killer... you know why you didn't have a chance to get to a loop? Your teammate didn't get an unsafe hook, they farmed you off the hook.
People love to act all high and mighty, but just as survivors tap gens, continue those that have progress instead of starting a brand new one and don't let them regress to 0 is ... because it is their objective. A killers objective is to kill survivors and letting survivors get away with bad plays isn't a showcase of skill, but bad decision making.
The one sided nature of these type of requests is so apparently obvious. The survivors will like playing with you, yet what exactly do they do to make it nice for the killer?
-
Since we have an MMR system your rank does not matter.
Since you have previous killer experience, you already have some basic knowledge on how to play the killer.
Since you are trying out a new killer, it is expected to lose a bit more while you get used to their ability... yet how bad are you losing?

This. I know how to deal with it and can easily do so, and those people trolling by claiming it's ok it's in the game and saying to learn to play around it don't want to recognise the real issue at hand: it's a game health issue.
Plus we know for a fact that these people are doing it intentionally to ruin the fun of others, not to 'win' as a 'valid tactic.' You see it in their names, profiles, etc.
Yet it is simply the other side of the coin, people that understand the game known how to stick to gens. If the killer wants to win, they need to snowball, it is simply how it is and tunneling is one of the reliable methods of doing so.
-
@beardedlucifer said:
I understand a killer that tunnels me or anyone with 0 deaths and at endgame, but since the 1st second of the game tunnel anyone is just frustrating, many killers have got decent 4k without tunneling and camping, I can't understand why someone enters the game with the need to ruin someone's day.
Well, now go play killer for an extended period of time. Get decently good, climb the ranks a bit and then tell me how it works out for you.
If the survivors are anywhere near decent, if they give you an opportunity to tunnel... you should take it.
Do you when playing a survivor and see a gen at 75% completion with nobody on it, degressing... just leave it or finish it?

Gonna be honest, I misread your original comment. I agree with your stance; I had thought you flipped sides and were flaunting your skill level with a low amount of hours, which I found to be a stupid comment to add to your reply, as it comes off cocky and uneducated (alas, that is NOT what you were intending to do) and were using your hours as one of the main points in YOUR argument, thus using it against you, with the way I read your comment, made sense, as we were both arguing on the same level. My mistake, I own up to it. Carry on.
Apology accepted, the written word and misinterpretations happen. 😅

If what you're saying is that you've only played 400h, then you are very likely an average player. You do not have nearly enough experience to have an educated opinion on DBD's balance, no matter how you try to spin it.
Really, funnily enough my opinion and analysis seems to match the overall consensus that it is survivor sided and the experiences that the top are having are relatively equal to what I am seeing.
Before you want to flaunt your hours and tell someone they are unqualified to having any insights and understanding how game balance is achieved and what elements contribute to it... maybe put that ego away. If all you have to show is hours played... who exactly is more educated? If you want a pedigree check, be my guest... but I for sure have an actual background in the gaming industry... do you? Hours played and education are not one and the same. Dismissing peoples opinions on a forum is beyond rude, if you claim more knowledgable... educate me.
So, are you going to claim that the game is balanced and all fine as your fellow xK hour player frind or killer sided? Because funnily enough at my MMR the experiences they describe are pretty common at this level as well... yet somehow they believe that equally skilled at not the top 10% of the world are far removed from the balance state they experience. At equal level and decent players... the game already shows and displays the character of the games balance. Yes, I don't face Oracle level survivors, because at that level even camping and tunneling have limited chances of success. I have seen them play, even from their perspective and heard their coms... you don't need to be able to play at that level to achieve an understanding of the game balance, just equally skilled players. They want to down rank, to face lower skilled players... yet while facing these good ones... they are able to stand their ground and keep their MMR? See the flaw in the logic there?
Get off your high horse and use logic, actual argumentation and use that experience you have to counter my points instead of just attacking my person...

It isn't fine. I was being facetious.
However, BHVR is likely to see it as fine. If 90% of players are meh at the game, and balance works for them but 10% are good and balance sucks for them, why would they balance for the minority?
You are claiming that I a very average player, that has played for what 400h, am in the top 10% of the world... what do you base these fictional numbers on. Because I am going to burst your bubble here and make the grand claim that the balance between equally skilled players is not just off set in the top... but includes the vast majority of people.

How is the solution not to play those killers? The real solution is for BHVR to recognize how badly this game is balanced at even mediocre survivor skill level. This game is very survivor sided outside of average casual skill level play. As soon as the survivor players realize how to loop and that doing gens> over everything else besides unhooking = win, you are going to struggle on killer. The survivors don't even need to be that good against most of the killer roster. They can drop pallets instantly and waste tons of time while the other 3 just do gens.
I am not stating not to play those killers, yet if you do you will if you are good face better survivors due to their strength level.
The whole argument is that each killer will be performing at your and their highest level.
Balance in this game isn't made for decently good or great players, those that claim to roll with the top 10% and claiming it is fine for everyone else... are just not understanding the reality of the balance and now they lose, drop a bit in rating and notice no difference... and still claim it is balanced? It isn't fine for a pretty big margin, because keep in mind at the lowest levels the coin flips.

You can do well enough not to lower your sbmm but still lose the match. Getting beaten is not enough on its own to throw a killer out of que selection range for high tier survivors.
Chances are that sbmm lowers at a far slower rate than it takes to go up. I highly doubt it's a clear 1to1 ratio.
Yet the way one speaks about how amazing they are how they have months upon months of unbeatable streaks... are now not able to face good survivors and go this is unbelievable unbalanced and in the same breath states well the balance is fine?
This is not reality, you cannot have it both ways... either the balance is not good enough to play killer or it is fine and your complaints about being a killer are not actually true. Especially when they claim it isn't fun for high survivors either as they only face 3 killers, while at the same time the entire roster if they play it faces these same people.
If the survivors are beating you, they would move up and leave your bracket just the same. MMR systems are a two part system, claiming you always face the exact same survivors makes no sense at all, or you are at the higher levels without crossplay which is well known to be even more sweaty.
@Pulsar the argument you are boosted is not holding ground if part of it is based on theoretical reasoning... what you are experiencing is simply the balance of the game... yet it is fine?
Like seriously all of those responding to me claiming the balance of the game is where it should be... while complaining about their killer experience, how exactly is it balanced? I am not a thousands of hours Chad, I don't claim to even be that good and all that higher queue times, facing meta survivors, SWF teams, map offerings and having to play in the 'not nice manner' is as valid in my lower skill bracket as your claims of high one... so... how exactly do you claim it is fine? Do you smurf or something and experience the game at the lowest levels?
-
@Pulsar said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2518131#Comment_2518131
Except, you eventually hit a hard cap where you no longer win but no longer lose. I think I hit that with Wraith. I can reliably get 1 Kill with 5-7 hooks, but no more than that. I continue to face the same teams, wherein I get 1 Kill and it certainly isn't fun to play super campy and tunnel-y.
Likewise, you are failing to consider that MMR has been collecting data in the background. I play almost every Killer (######### off Nurse) and I've lost like 15 games since the New Year. I get long queue's and get destroyed because my MMR is so high on Killers that should not be up there. Legion? Against DS, DH, UB, BT on Badham? No way I win that.
There have also been examples given on the Forums about how MMR is not dropping fast enough. I'm not going to play 30 Legion games just so that I have a chance at winning.
Yet you claim that the top where the game is unbalanced is purely occupied by Blight, Spirit and Nurse. If you are playing all others killers... you are not facing those 'good' players by your own admission or are you claiming that unless they face you...
Your logic is showcasing major paradox elements; if the good players only face 3 killers ... that means all other killers don't face them even if played by you.
Queue times have increased and yes even I face DS, DH, UB, BT, SG, SB, meta meta meta perks with offerings on Badham, Ormond, Haddonfield and CORN CORN CORN (I even posted that I am getting fed up with map offerings) and I am nowhere near the top level of killer. Face it... your logic that it only affects the top is simply invalid.
So... how is that fine?
-
@Pulsar said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2518120#Comment_2518120
Yep, I sure did.
Because the game is balanced at a casual level, ie, Survivors aren't efficient.
I'd say maybe 10% of the community plays at a higher level, and unfortunately, that's where balance falls apart. You either play Nurse, Spirit and Blight or you don't really have a chance. It's just mathematics at that point and unfortunately, I doubt BHVR will ever do anything about it.
I know Killer players don't like to get stomped for not running meta or playing those three Killers and I know Survivor players don't like always running meta and playing against those three Killers either. Even further, the game isn't fun at those ranks, even when you win.
You realize the logic flaw in your reasoning right?
If to enter the upper echelons of the community you need to play those 3 killers, therefore the solution to your issue would be to not play those killer and you would not meet those players... as by your own accord: they only face those 3 killers.
Yet you are denouncing the entire role meaning that even at lower levels where even the worst killers reside meeting far lesser survivors hit the same issues. The MMR is killer based after all and if you are facing issues on all of them... it really showcases it isn't just the top 10% of the community. Yet here you go and state; it is all good... the hypocrisy is strong.

The game is balanced around Survivors being bad.
Which is fine, most Survivors are.
Euhm... how is that fine? Didn't you just make a post that you don't want to play killer anymore, but you claim that it is all fine? Interesting take...
-
a) The grade system is a reward schematic for how much you played in the month, it isn't linked to match making anymore.
b) 4k stands for 4 kills in this game.
c) Get a decent build, get the teachables you want (try to avoid those you don't) and don't prestige unless you want the cosmetics
d) You will learn soon enough that you should play based on your own enjoyment, the other side won't show mercy and be nice to you. It is not your job to make them have a good time, if they make a mistake... punish it. If you haven't found someone and an unhook happens go to it, if the guy that just was hooked walks into you... wack him down. If you want to get better at the game you have to realize that tunneling, camping, slugging (leaving them on the ground after knocking them down) and all that jazz is part of the tools in your arsenal and they all have a time and place to be used; If you overcommit to a chase, a tunnel, a camp... you will lose against decent players.
e) If you want to farm... farm, all this is based on your own choice of what you want to do and one advise is to do it because you want to do it and like it... not because you think someone else's maybe feelings, as I have been nice to people and still get called a baby killer or camper or tunneler or toxic or worse.
f) end game salt is end game salt; if they cross a line you can always report them and if you don't want to have the chat you can disable it.
g) Spirit, Hag, Huntress are viewed as strong killers especially in the right hands. Cenobite has potential but his 1v1 is lacking, but if not handled well the hunt passive is strong. Nemesis is a decent, but not amazing. Yet any killer can be defeated with proper teamwork, macro choices and sticking to gens.
h) Controls on killer is more difficult on a mobile so based that both those statements seem pretty accurate.
-
Why would people not be happy? You answered it yourself; just accept that no matter what you had done, the game is so stacked against you... so take the L, your skill is quite irrelevant to achieving a win.
Now imagine being a non 1000s of hours player and having to deal with it... the question here is rather; why are you so complacent to accept the situation you described?
If you want a balanced game, a game which both sides at all times have a chance by their own performance and in the case of survivors teamwork to come out victorious... why wouldn't you be angry?
-
It is all about how the survivors play and what opportunities they present, mindlessly tunneling will not work on better survivors and especially SWF. In the same manner that avoiding it at all costs won't work on them either.
Tunnel, slug, camp, gen patrol and when to give up on a chase or a gen... deciding where, when and how to apply pressure is what will make you a better killer.
-
Hook them as a killer, sorry but that constant notification spam is incredibly annoying.
As a survivor, do gens and any totem I see.

Euhm yet killers hear and get the validation that they hit you... then you magically heal by the pallet. It is them compensating for latency, yet from the killers perspective they should have hit you and their game confirms it at the moment... it just gets rolled back and denied.

Not at all, as I mentioned recently players shouldn’t have to be messing around in their settings just to be able to have decent games going on. Why do I have to do my muscle memory which take ages just for one killer? It’s poor from bhvr
Well your muscle memory states that both actions are bound to one and the same button, so either way a pretty bad setup if you think of it. If you don't want to change it, then adapt and face in such a way you don't vault.
Either learn to use 2 buttons or stick to the one... it is a single killer.
-
People: the meta is boring, shake it up.
Also people: a niche and unused perk are good on this one killer... nerf it so they too can use the meta.
-
The default keybind is a bad choice by behavior... but rebind it to something you do like. You are asking for a solution for which you already have one.
-
They stated the MMR aims to have you 'win' about 50% of your matches, you are to powerful and therefore requires to be compensated by inexperienced teammates.
-
An 8 perk killer, who wouldn't want to play that!
Imagine using a perk like Make your Choice... for its intended purpose of going after someone that just unhooked someone else! Didn't you know it is better to tunnel... or was that not your point?
It sounds like you are struggling and need someone to come carry you...
-
As I have always played at those hours... it is just way the game is for me.
-
The idea behind the MMR system is to create equally matched games, it isn't to reward you... play as you do, settle at the rating where you belong.

Well what you described isn't very casual mindset at all. I haven't changed my playstyle at all as killer because winning to me is just getting everyone on death hook. By most people standards I am "losing" almost every game but it's no issue because I ACTUALLY am a casual player lol. Like I play to have fun and I do most games, so in my mind I'm winning them
I never defined what a win is may I add and you are playing to win, which you claim is not a casual playstyle... but you are casual. Having a different definition for a win doesn't mean anything though based on the logic described.
You can consider 8 hooks a win, others might consider a Pip or a Double Pip, I even seen people define it as X blood points earned and the more common one is kills vs escapes. By your own definition you are trying to win and playing a certain way to do so. If you would be getting consistently 0-3 hooks a game, would you not change the way you play... would you still be having fun? Would you consider using stronger add-ons or a different killer to try and get more hooks or change the way you play, run loops, etc.? If the game stops being fun due to the tactics and efficiency of the survivors you face, would you not adapt to try and make it more fun for you?
Most of us are trying to have fun and play to win by what ever definition we have for it, use tactics that facilitate the aspect we enjoy or reduce the frustrations that we have to make it more fun. Everyone keeps shouting that this is a casual game, yet the moment people adapt to try and have a more pleasant time and win... they are competitive? That means everyone is competitive even you and that makes it that it is a competitive game, as the players determine whether the game is casual or not.
How many hours do you have, mister casual... as you know the amount of experience one has calculates into the casual nature and their ability to play less efficiently without having to deal with the frustrations. If your answer is then you simply need to become better, then you are telling casual players that they need to be more efficient, sweat more and be more optimal in their playstyle... which is not casual at all, because that means you should be able to not know the entire map layout, each tile configuration, the best way to run it and all that jazz. Somehow I don't think you are that casual, just more experienced...
-
There are more factors than just simply the speed at which they are done which contributes to gen speeds:
- Map layouts and size
- Spawn points
The fact is that simply increasing the numbers on M1 holding the gens or buffing regression perks ... is pretty lazy design and in the end won't change that much. Considering aspects like gen spread, and safe pallets to waste time of the killer or the time it takes to traverse the map in general for the killer on most maps and spawn locations.
Additionally the kicking of gens should be revamped as it is: one of the most surprising tips killers give new ones is to not bother kicking gens in 99.9% of the cases as it will simply lose you the game. Unless you have actual perks like Pop or the 100% certainty nobody is going to tap it the killer gains no value out of it and loses time... so overall a net loss. Therefore if you want to address an easy design tweak, this is where it should be.
-
@danielmaster87 said:
That's if they want to be high MMR. No casual player would change up how they played/what perks they run unless they are competitive and want to win and are therefore not casual anymore. And because it's similarly matched MMR games, the killer's only gonna be as chill or as sweaty as the survivors are.
Even casual players adapt and change how they play based on the experience that they have... being destroyed isn't fun for anyone even casual players. Just the fact that you don't want to lose every game or feel like you had no chance and are trying to win and wanting more than a 0-20% win rate doesn't make you a super sweaty competitive player instantly.
People enjoy winning games, regardless of whether they are competitive or casual. Always losing isn't fun, even for casual players.

You know you can beat them... yet you lose... you were swindled by business.

I used to play in tournaments. I have never seen any crazy streak like that. To be fair, i dont know anybody going for it, but it is not unusual that even very good teams loose players during a match, if the killer is really good. It might be maybe possible on low ranks tho but for sure not on a regular base.
It is just as achievable, it just takes more organization. Otz 50 kill streaks get broken all the time, not because he isn't good enough or cannot achieve it and he even allows hatch plays to not break it. For a killer the same issue is that one good team can break the streak. How many tournament teams do you know go into public matches to sweat it out?
You just see it more frequently as a killer, as more people attempt it. Even you admit that you don't know anyone even attempting it.

None, since it is already challanging to have 1 specific survivor escape, not even mentioning all 4.
I am certaint that the best team in the world would struggle 100 4-man-escapes in a row while 100 4Ks as a killer is done countless times.
You clearly haven't seen tournament level teams, if they would play in public matches they would have no issues achieving it. They play on KYF with tournament level killers...
-
How many squads do you see always playing together, with the sole aim of escaping as a 4 man?
Naturally it is easier to record a win streak on a killer as the only person that needs to show up and decide they want to sweat it out. Compared to 4 individuals that need to play together, while each of them using optimal builds and all that jazz.
Solo survivor escape streaks are more difficult, as they must depend on their team.

Why can a strong killer not be fun to play and face? It sounds more like a survivors fun is now determined by their ability to dominate a match than allowing a strong killer into the roster.
People will always choose the fun option, because that is what they want to get out of a game.
Would you rather have a S killer that is fun to play as and against or an unfun F tier killer that isn't fun to face... guess what....
This is such a framed query...
-
You state that the tipping point is 3 gens, 3 survivors and yet if the survivors are just decent it should mean that 2 gens are approximately done by the time the hook takes place. At that point you have 2 mins to complete 2 or 3 more...
The fact that you believe that a game strategy is even remotely anywhere near the level of slurs, insults, etc. Is so out of touch with reality, people trying to win a game using tactics... stated by the developers to be within the rules. Mind boggling... what is next, haddonfield offerings are toxic, bringing a key or crawling under a pallet for a save? Both sides deal with things they won't like.... it is however not toxic. Your opponents aren't supposed to make it easy for you.
The game isn't made to go for 12 hooks, it isn't reasonable to ask all killers to be the equivalent of a 3 to 10k hour player. Most of the time there is no malicious intent behind their actions, they simply are trying to win the game... also they aren't denying your ability to play the game, you were chased, you were downed and you died. Good survivors can deal with it... the get good argument cannot be one sided.
-
A team of 4 had 3 people trigger my traps practically as I set them, good enough loopers to outrun a 110 killer and just left me wondering what one is supposed to do in that situation... I have dealt with swarming teams before, but these people were at a different level.
-
These type of suggestions will not work without survivors using it as a bully tool.

What are you even talking about?
Asymmetrical or not, it’s not fun to be forced to not be able to play because another player completely dictates it for you.
You literally stated that you want to camp them in return.
You are dangling on a hook, it is part of the game... you might not like it, but it is part of survivors gameplay, enjoy those skill checks and hope your teammates pull through. If you don't want to dangle on a hook or hold m1 on a gens... go play killer or Civilization.

I don't mind that camping is effective, it's that in DBD is completely nullifies the other player's ability to even play the game. At least in other games you can at least camp the other side back. What is the hooked survivor supposed to camp, the killer's face?
Now you go and complain about the asymmetric nature of the game?
If you are being camped, you are being a distraction for your team. Therefore technically yes, by having a blink contest with the killer you are actually doing something.
-
Camping is quite effective in many games, take nearly any shooter and hold angles with minimal movement from an advantageous position, sniper classes, engineers, etc. or roof camping in Rust... voila argument made void.

im just tired of playing the same way over and over (it works but if I change styles at any point it doesn't end well)
You are failing to understand what I am stating: Start playing the way you want and if that results in depips be at peace with that (you are asking to depip anyway). At some point the manner that you want to play will result in decent results and you will stabilize at a specific rank, be it 15, 8, 5 or 1.... there is no need to throw the game, just start playing as you want and see where you end up.
-
Hmmm.. maybe just play those killers with those perks and see how it goes, if it causes you to depip till a rank that suits that style of play then you get there by playing how you want?
You are stating that the style of play you want to do is not going to cut it at the higher ranks, but that is how you play... then play that way and you should naturally gravitate towards the ranking where it is viable for you. There is no need to throw games to then try and play that way.

I'm not looking for some to hand the hatch to me, but a tunnel is a crap. Especially when you were the only one doing gens because others dont know how to play the game. The instance where the killer gave me hatch was literally just funny!!! I actually wanted him to down me and that mans straight up was like "Nope, deserve hatch"! I usually only get KOBE when I am actually just trying to die because the killer is #########. Just let me run a bit, killer is more than likely still going to get hatch. coming straight of a hook alone is a horrific handicap as is. I totally get some peoples comments though. Didint know I got BPs for a KOBE
I today placed a trap as hag pretty much where they landed after a Kobe, teleported back and slapped them down.
I sometimes give hatch, I rarely slug for the 4k and pretty much only if the last survivor is kinda right there. Mercy, hatch, another chance... you have to do more than just RNG off a hook, which you were doing to die quicker anyway.
