I'm fine if the guy with BT tries to body block me. I'll just wait the 10 secs or so and down him again. He wants to piss me off with BT he can kiss his DS away. If he doesn't have DS he's going back on the hook.
thats my mentality too.

That doesn't do anything though.
Sure, the survivor with BT is now downed but you have to either wait out the DS,eat the DS or try to find another survivor to chase.
And those are all terrible options to chose and can easily lose you the game
Waiting for DS is like saying you should have brought DS when you get tunneled off hook. Like, you are slugging... literally the survivor can’t do anything.
It’s not as bad as you think when you basically either make them waste their UB or DS timer while having the pressure and possibly someone else in line of sight. Meanwhile 1-2 people on a gen.

Well yeah, of course nothing's gonna stop hardcore tunneling. But you can make it a little harder.
@OniWantsYourMacaroni suggested a good way to keep BT how it is while preventing it from being abused (for the most part)-- disable collision with the killer so they can't bodyblock, but make it a flat radius instead of inside TR.
You can make it a little harder only if you have those perks. Outside of that those actions can and are acted upon regardless. That’s why you see a lot of killers doing (yes even in red ranks).
I still see no issue with Bodyblocking with BT mostly because you can wait it out.
-
On the flip side to that scenario, you have killers who will not leave the hook no matter what (and ESPECIALLY if there is no BT).
I get what you are saying but unless they somehow miraculously figure out and have the game itself know when it is a strat vs an “abuse” on virtually anything... BT can stay the way it is.
Because as it is even DS (which was not strictly an anti tunnel perk, aside from this community deeming it that) still going to not counter hardcore tunneling.
Someone running to me as a killer with BT is just as cheesy as that annoying player roasting s’mores and abusing tunneling because “they can”. Even tho as someone who plays killer, I understand BOTH instances exist.
-
If you ever get a chance, listen to how Bill sounds when he doesn’t wiggle, basically they have given up... he sounds like a soldier that gave everything he had.
I feel SO bad killing them, so I give hatch.

They saw a video and came up with the conclusion that holding W is somehow too strong. 🤣

“Also just because you are a rank 20 with purple perks and items doesn’t mean they are new.”
“He didn’t say they’re new, he said they’re obviously not new because they’re running meta SWF builds and coordinating bully strats.”
Sure, you didn’t specifically say how long their break was but my point is still valid. If the OP is encountering THAT level of Intentional toxicity from rank 19s that means either
A: The people are most likely a Red/Low Purple rank at heart and they’re just coming back to the game to have a ‘fun’ time in SWF. If a Red or Purple rank takes a break from the game it would take at least 3 months for them to go back to Rank 20. You only go up one color each monthly reset.
B: The person is actively a Red/Low Purple rank at heart and they went on a suicide streak to derank intentionally. If they’re chasing you, constantly group body-blocking, multiple people clicking flashlights, splitting up on gens at Rank 20-19 it’s extremely safe to assume those are coordinated efforts in a 4man SWF. It isn’t often one SoloQ person does this and 3 other coincidental grey ranks happen to join in on the bullying mid-trial.
I don’t think any person that actively uses the DBD Discord server daily or watches YouTube content would need statistics to agree that its way more likely these players spent a few hours suiciding to get easier matches or to bully than it is that 4 Solo players coincidentally took a 2-4 month break around the same time and have high level team chemistry
Again. Just because they are coordinating and in a swf doesn't mean that they purposely deranked to "bully" when at those ranks.
We don't even know what 'THAT level of toxicity' is as we have no video evidence that we could watch. I don't base my statistics when I point them out on "hear/say" Especially if you are accusing one side of purposely deranking when at best all we know if both sides do it. OP mentioned their items as evidence that they must have done this on purpose, when what is factual is that their is a rank reset and it so happens that if you are gone for a while you will undoubtedly go back to rank 20. Which means that if someone was good at DBD back when they played, they would be able to pick it up again in a few months with hardly any problem. That is fact.

"The audacity of some people is just effing baffling. All while bs actions exist on their side that are deemed “boring” with almost 0 counterplay." You did.
Right. In regards to the holding W argument. Not a killer being boring. I never said Spirit was "boring" to go against, for example. You brought that up.

As a guy who plays mostly survivor sorry to call you out on bs but survivors are the more toxic majority. "Ggez" "wow noed" "baby killer" "git gud" literally I've never had to tell so many people to ######### off in a game before. Most killers bar the occasional toxic bubba or something are pretty nice. And the whole "boring" started literally from survivors. "Spirits boring ph is boring nurse is boring". So either way (its also the fact theres 4 survivors and 1 killer so statistically survivors should be more toxic)
and as a guy who plays both equally 50/50 (both at red rank), I disagree with you.
Also, who said anything about boring? Did you even follow the context to my response to another person?
"toxic sweaty swf" = even tho it was a solo q team with 1 DS.
"nice gen rush" = even though they had like 10 hooks.
"nice t bag" = even though they shook their head before they got t bagged.
I can go on.

He didn’t say they’re new, he said they’re obviously not new because they’re running meta SWF builds and coordinating bully strats. Somebody coming back from a break doesn’t go from red rank to grey 20 in one monthly reset, you only go up one color each time. The chances of somebody leaving the game for 4+ months and coming back to perfectly abuse killers in a coordinated squad is lower than the chances somebody decided to take a handful of hours with their friends to suicide and pose as low-ranks. I hear and see it in the Dead by Daylight Discord SWF channels regularly
The majority of the Killers who “derank” are farming points to spend on somebody because even a semi-afk or level 8 baby killer with 1 perk earns way more BP than a survivor that throws a match by suicide. As survivor you don’t get any incentive to derank other than to bully OR to get less sweaty Killers/teammates which is more fun for certain people. As killer you at least get a higher ceiling for BP and can grind much more efficiently
I never stated how long their break were. I have friends who haven't played in months who were previously red that are now brown rank. That is the statement I made.
Do you have data to back up your fact about killers deranking just to farm points? I'd be interested in seeing that. Right now that sounds like an excuse to me.
I think both sides are in the wrong for doing this, and this isn't a problem exclusive to one side.

Stop getting enraged by things that haven't happened.
Huh? Who is “enraged”
I often get comments like the OP listed. I know you wanna think all killers are sweet and nice in post chat but they aren’t. Sorry to break it to you.
-
Camping tunneling and Slugging ... all require no perk slots, and have no downside.
-
Only bad killers would call holding W “toxic”.
The audacity of some people is just effing baffling. All while bs actions exist on their side that are deemed “boring” with almost 0 counterplay.
-
IMO All the Huntresses that have brought Iri are bad anyway, so one is to assume that is the reason.
Even Huntress mains who are skilled will tell you how busted that add on is. So if you want a reason this is why.
-
This goes both ways and I’ve seen high rank killers purposely derank so they’ll go against low rank survivors.
Also just because you are a rank 20 with purple perks and items doesn’t mean they are new. They could have taken an extended break while they also had these items back when they were high rank.
-
But Im just a baby Dweet D:
-
I might be in the minority but I find Oni REALLY... like uttterly boring to play against.
Especially because with how one-dimensional his power was designed everyone and their mother brings Infectious Fright and Slugs. One of the most boring actions one could possibly experience in this game and the same playstyle across the majority of Oni players.
You cannot do anything against his one shot in open areas. At least with Hillbilly you can somewhat counter his.
-
Although I understand hearing gens pop as killer isn’t fun. I think you should also understand that without perks you might have a bit of a problem.
I still cannot see how you found no one and how 3 gens popped without you even being able to patrol. Something just doesn’t add up. Not that I don’t believe you, but that has literally never happened to me, even perkless. I will find someone in the time it takes to complete a gen.
What killer were you playing?
-
I use the Nvidia Overlay feature because some maps are way too dark for me.
I wish they added a built in one though. Some of those maps are just way too dark.
-
Nerf Rusty Shackles and I’d be happy with that.
-
In my experience, Camping and Tunneling at red ranks is common and it is actually a lot worse than at lower ranks.
Most of the time, they (killer) know how to run tiles, and are semi-decent at chases in general... but they also know how to Camp and Tunnel without DS hindering their gameplay.
So yeah, contrary to popular belief, It is not something that is exclusive to “new” players.
-
How is that abusive Camping, Tunneling and Slugging looking like for you?

Keeps every player engaged from the start of the game. You can still loop the killer and waste his time and thats how it should be. Not because the killer cant find survivors early on. That's why the devs said they are looking into early game way back.
umm. I’m not the biggest fan of immersion, but Hiding is still a part of the game.
It’s not that hard to find a survivor early on, I don’t need the entity to spood feed me and spawn me next to someone.
-
Killer isn’t restricted to which perkless action they can do (Tunneling or Slugging) so why should survivors on the perks they themselves slotted.
Its going to be more common now with the DS nerf.
-
Contrary to popular belief, games as survivor can be frustrating too.
I would say the first thing you should go prepared with is to not expect to get an amazing team. It just eases the frustration when you already know you might get hooked, and absolutely no one is on a gen, instead they are hiding or in a locker.
As for your build, I would say bring at least a couple of meta perks, DS and BT would be my top choices, this guarantees that there will be an obsession and the killer won’t be so easily camping, at least not without knowing someone could have it. This also gives you an extra chance should your teammates farm you and there is a locker nearby.
The next thing to know if you’re probably gonna carry a lot of the aggro. It is something solo queue teammates refuse to engage in for the most part. So I would definitely bring some kind of exhaustion perk and maybe even a medkit to heal yourself.
Usually when I play in solo, I just keep telling myself to do my best with the situation i am thrown in. Because literally that is what it will be.

You mean push them to the empty side of the safe pallet loop before breaking it? You think that is some advanced tactic that i and many others haven't tried over and over?
This is the situation that usually reveals how bs deadhard is as they will usually make the pallet or vault specifically because of this perk.
Again. There are certain ways you have to run tiles. Just as survivors have to know how to run them, so do killers.
I have doubled backed-into a- double back, only to out-position the survivor leaving them no choice but to use DH, meanwhile they still went down because there was nothing to DH to.
You’re thinking too straight toward. If you chase them know they want you to, they will use it against you.
now please tell me... how you do counter Lithe if they have a window? How can I make sure I don’t whiff and instead hit them?
-

They all have a requirement that can be countered or is risky and may not be available.
Deadhard just requires the press of a button on demand and has more than one use like balanced landing use to.
It also has a use that has no way for the killer to counter it because they are not close enough. Deadhatd for distance.
DH requires you to be injured and doesn’t have the distance that the rest of the exhaustion perks have. Meaning you have to be smart about when you use it.
It is counterable, the problem is that some players don’t understand how to out-position a survivor (double backing, forcing them to run in a specific path so they don’t get to the pallet etc) Not to mention in dead zones this perk is useless. At best you will make the killer whiff and that’s it.
-
Who are these “people”? A segment of this community that exhaustion perks shouldn’t be used to extend a chase? Even though that is exactly what they are meant for.

Honestly at this point I will take the toxicity, if it meant that server connections were going to be improved. lol

Servers suck, plain and simple.
If you play both roles you’ll understand it is a problem on both sides. I don’t know how server connections really work, but for some reason it is the one thing that is hindering the enjoyment of this game.

There's not a single gen slowdown perk that's worth running. Not even taking 4 slowdown perks will counter the current gen rush meta.
The new perk combos well with stake out. Giving 20% progress on a single skill check. Now think 3 survivors using it on the same gen.
Making 3 gen strats useless.
Are you even being serious? LOL
I just can't take this comment serious at all. First, you act as if every single match is a gen-rush experience, which is completely wrong. Second, yes there are slow down perks worth taking Corrupt being one of them. If you are a good killer (emphasis on the IF) You will get 1-2 downs before Corrupt depletes.
I have seen BAD killers bring Ruin/Corrupt/Undying, and because they lack skill during chases, these perks do nothing for them. You can't pigeonhole one scenario for everyone. There are killers out there who don't even run slow down perks at all and are doing just fine in high ranks.
I'm not sure in which ranks you play, but I can guarantee you, gens aren't the issue with many of the killers who complain about gen speeds. There is a big skill gap they don't want to bother discussing, because it is much easier to blame it on gens. That is a fact.

Stalking survivor takes actual skill, thus the one shot feels earned. Which I can't say for other killers.

I don't think anyone has an issue with Suicide on the hook for the SPECIFIC purpose of giving someone the Hatch. That is the only reason I will EVER do it myself. That isn't a problem, nor has anyone been complaining about that. :) The issue is that people suicide early in the game and simply throw the match, damning the remaining Survivors in the process. This happens far too often, just short of constantly. Perhaps one in twenty or so games will I see one Survivor suicide on the hook to give the other one an out. I see early Suicides every 2-3 games. Clearly the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few here, and the 2nd Stage struggle bus needs to be automatic. Far more games are being ruined than the odd Survivor getting a noble self-sacrifice.
That isn't the only instance though.
If I see a camping Bubba, and the survivor no longer wants to engage in the match. I don't fault them for it.
You can't balance the people who do it on purpose vs the people who have a legit reason. It's sort of like Camping.... You can do it at your own leisure without reason OR you saw a survivor going back to hook immediately after hooking. The game doesn't know the difference.
-
I disagree. If killers can slug for the 4k, survivors should have the ability to "suicide" to give someone else hatch.
-
They brought petrified oak offerings, that would have been the first indicator of what they intended on doing. Usually you look around before you pick up in case someone is waiting to sabo or take hits. Just the same as if someone had a flashlight.
That isn’t ‘bullying’ the killer. Its playing the game. Regardless of how anyone reacts in post match chat, that is literally using items/features available in the game.

Yes, it is indeed one of my favorite sounds in the game. haha
VERY rarely do I play spooky Myers, I'm the other kind of spooky, the Dead Rabbit + Monitor & Abuse kind. 😂 He is definitely spooky, even though he is so tall. A good Myers will wait around the corner and slash you as you pass by. I've done this so many times, and I think it really throws survivors off. Haha

You know that sometimes slugging can still be annoying regardless right?
