So you are saying the fact that i could work on a gen for 60 sec whitout getting punish by the killer is not abusing a perk
@twinsbad
It was never “abuse” because the perk was not strictly an anti-tunnel perk. This was already confirmed by a dev. Therefore you went by the timer instead.
Now I can play killer and abuse tunneling as I please because I know a survivor can merely touch a gen and they have no way to defend themselves against me going after them specifically.
-
I don’t know if I would go to that extreme.
I could get behind a buff such as “while the killer is stunned you do not leave scratch marks, grunts of pain reduced to 100%”

"by game standarts" what are those btw? I don't remember 3k being specified anywhere as a complete victory.
Because a 2k is the average the devs want, which means that a 3k is above that.
You are slugging for a 4th person, meaning you want the extra points. Same with people who are waiting at the exit gates, whether it'd be for altruism or boldness points. Not necessary but more of a luxury.

>Not exactly. Many times survivors who are injured take advantage and heal for points or they may have a challenge. So it isn't always about the killer at all.
Maybe that, but in the light of this discussion, we're talking about HEALTHY survivors staying in exit gates.
>My point is in that getting a 3k still means you've won. So getting that 4th person and slugging at that just to make sure they don't get hatch makes zero sense unless you actually have a challenge or something.
3k isn't a full victory. It is like a second place. Still cool, but not good enough.
Also, "etting that 4th person and slugging at that just to make sure they don't get hatch makes zero sense unless you actually have a challenge or something." it makes sense if I want to win.
My win condition is to kill 4 survivors, not 3.
If the game is designed the way that getting last survivor is either hoping you'll power through at least 2 colossal second chances they get just because they were least ######### out of the bunch or slugging, then I'll preffer slugging because I don't want to play a rigged gamble which isn't rigged in my favour despite me being the one who actually won.
The OP never specifiied scenarios, they only said "Survivors at exit gates", so therefore I am giving you a specific scenario where a killer might think survivors do not want to leave, when in fact they just want heal points and not to give the killer a "hit".
A 3k isn't second place. It is a win. If you think it's 4 then that is your own personal win condition, not by the game standards.
-
Old DS was only considered "abused" because a segment of this community doesn't understand how to counter it.
I barely got stunned before as it was, let alone now. Now it just means I can cut corners and not have to worry about whether that person who had no idea I had every intention of continuing to pursue them (seconds after they were unhooked) in an effort to take them out of the game first will no longer have a way to deter me from it.

Slugging at 2 last people usually makes sense when you want a 4k without playing hatch&exit gates gamble game.
Staying at exit gates when there's none survivors outside makes zero sense unless you just want to be petty.
Not exactly. Many times survivors who are injured take advantage and heal for points or they may have a challenge. So it isn't always about the killer at all.
My point is in that getting a 3k still means you've won. So getting that 4th person and slugging at that just to make sure they don't get hatch makes zero sense unless you actually have a challenge or something.

By diffuse do you mean disarm?
Because in that case, no. That would be extremely OP.
I do well with current Trapper, if there absolutely had to be a buff, I’d say make his brown bag base kit. Perhaps even reworking some of his add ons to make them more unique.
-
Personally I see survivors waiting at the exit gates as the equivalent of slugging survivors when there is only 2 people left.
You get extra points from both though not everyone is a fan of it.

No, but remember that every time you load up with a 4 man squad, that is potentially one more killer that quits the game.
SWF is not fun to play against and the game feels different if not bad to play in as the killer. Even when you win it was probably not a fun experience.
As someone who plays killer and would rather go against a SWF team, I have to disagree.
Not everyone finds playing against SWF not fun.

Here's what you can't understand:
THEY DON'T WANT TO ADDRESS THESE THINGS, THEY ARE ADDRESSED IN THE RULES!
Tunneling, facecamping, teabagging, slugging, sandbagging, body-blocking, these are all specifically addressed in the rules, and THEY ARE PART OF THE GAME.
You can use perks to stop them, you can play to counter them, but THEY ARE NOT AGAINST THE RULES, THEY ARE PART OF THE GAME. You can either play against them or don't, doesn't matter, THEY ARE STILL PART OF THE GAME.
it's an important distinction, I'm not saying they are technically allowed, I'm saying they are SPECIFICALLY MENTIONED AS BEING ALLOWED.
TLDR: THEY ARE PART OF THE GAME
Just because something is a part of the game doesn’t mean it can’t be abused or it isn’t unbalanced.
If that was the case one could argue that window vaulting (when there was no entity blocker) was also A PART OF THE GAME. Yes it was, and like many other things that aren’t balanced things could change.
Nobody is arguing if it is/it is not against the rules.

Killers: Survivors are only using Second Chance Perks!
Also Killers: Just use DS!
Seriously..
I was thinking the same thing 😂
Maybe if the devs would actually invest in giving survivors options outside of a perk that doesn’t even deter killers from tunneling, we wouldn’t see that many people doing it.
I’ve literally had killers say this to me in post chat after making sure they tunneled me out “Nice DS you got there” because it literally doesn’t do anything impactful to really make them not want to eat it.

I don't know what upsets me more, that unbelievable level of ignorance; or the fact some people upvoted it even if just in jest.
I’m willing to bet they were referring to the fact that chances of giving the last survivor an opportunity to get hatch just got slimmer.
This is why i personally did not like the change. I feel like a quick “kill myself on hook” should be an option for the last two survivors. The hatch mechanic is already killer-sided enough with them being able to close it.

@Breque said:
I disagree, kindread should be basekit, and probably just kindread as an buff to solo would not be enought
you really wanna know the problem with this game?
The big problem is that the only one that can compete with an death squad swf is nurse and spirit and the only one that can compete with nurse an spirit is an death swf
But for solo an Freddy/Deathslinger is enought to make an killer sided match ( depending on the map )
Why, SWF can get a LOT of information, if an killer is camping, the camped guy would just say that his is getting camped and everyone one would focus on gen
While in solo someone would need to go to there to acctully know that he is being camped, so the 3 other survival would need to go near the hook to understand that it is an acctual camping situation
In an swf everyone would in just one hook understand if he i an camper/tunneler, so if the killer made just one mistake that gives an small oppotunity to go to the save, an swf would not let it pass
While the solo would just wait for an bigger opportunity that shall never occour
So is bassically this what make the game unbaleced
Balance around solo, be against swf would be an hell, balance around swf, solo would be an hell
if they give the solo information about the perks of the other survival, if you give the information if someone is already going to the save on hook
then solo survival would acctully get the information that people in an swf already get, then this would give the opportunity to acctully fix a lot of balancing problem
I made an really big text, and english is not my first language so if i write something that dont make sense, tell me that i am gonna fix it (:
Camping should be addressed by giving survivors more options outside of perks, and then maybe there wouldn’t even need a reason to suggest that kindred should be built-in. Camping is a problem even in SWF.
Camping (along with other abusive actions) are the common denominator for why people even whine about solo Q.
-
If SWF needed to be "nerfed" then you wouldn't be seeing killers doing well.
I face SWF constantly and I love it because it provides a challenge. It's better than going against solo Q AI bots.
-
I'd say instead we should be able to see each other's own equipped items/perks. Especially on a game where you have to bring a perk to counter an in-game action (Camping/Tunneling/Slugging).

Again quoting @burt0r who's much better with words than I am:
"You make several claims how survivors "ruin" it for killer and on the other hand just because of some buffs among some nerfs they should stop crying. Of course you would get called out for it. It would be similar to an individual whose name is quite famous for their one sided bias posts and they started pleading for the other side."
Basically, OP cries about survivors ruining the killer experience and cries about being forced to play Spirit before telling killers to stop crying.
I guess the thing I was questioning was when did he say those things, but I did my own research and the irony makes sense now.
-
Isn't this post he made now about how Killers just don't appreciate the buffs? IE. They still crying even AFTER they were crying because no buffs were given to them?
I'm not defending OPs opinions in those posts, but if you read carefully the first post you copy/pasted talks about how survivors are ruining the game because of the combos they use in red ranks. The second post talks about how they feel they are forced to play specific killers due to their opinion about survivors being too strong.
I don't agree with his opinions btw. I am just stating that what I am reading is not the opposite of what he just now posted. It is very possible to be a "killer main" and still believe your own group has flaws too as an example.

He's definitely not wrong about the forums 😂
I'd say on here if a survivor main (usually someone new to the forums) says something outrageous, the rest of the survivor mains usually don't agree with them. I.e Nerf BBQ.
Whereas if a killer says something outrageous, I feel like killer side of the community are more likely to agree with them. I.e Remove SWF/Separate modes for solo and swf players.
Just my opinion btw
I share your opinion as well.
Before I joined the forums I had another friend who came here and basically told me "Do not post anything, it is basically only killer players in there" because he mentioned something that apparently triggered people into just putting him down in his own thread. He has left ever since. At the time I did not believe him, until I experienced it for myself.
I don't think some people are unreasonable, but I do think a majority of this community (the forums one not the DBD community in its entirety) is very combative. There is a segment of this community that acts like they are just ready to attack anyone who merely suggests something because maybe they don't fully understand something about the game, or maybe just because they don't particularly agree with it.

It’s not a team game at all. It’s a game that provides the choice/option to work cooperatively.
The survivor game is designed in such a way whereby there is equal pro and con to working cooperatively, and equal pro and con to working as a lone wolf.
For every benefit that can be listed working as a team, there is an accompanying list of drawbacks that could contribute to a killer turning the match in their favour.
It’s a horror game. There’s SUPPOSED to be uncertainty whether teamwork or lone wolf play is the right choice or wrong choice. And even when one of those options is the right choice it can very quickly swing towards being the wrong choice.
In the context in which I responded to the other response. It is a team based game.
Could you do all 5 gens, take the killer aggro at the same time? IE 1v1 the killer until you successfully complete your objective? If the answer is no, then that means you needed teammates to help you.
Of course not every single objective is going to require to work as a team, but one teammate being chased last when they cannot 1v1 the killer, is very much in need of their teammates in that specific scenario.
I think you are confusing ‘team-based- with ‘doing tasks together’
-
@Superyoshiegg said:
They are not obligated to stick around and risk their life. It's not a team game, they don't win if they die but you escape.
It's not their fault for you dying because they opened the door and left, it's on you for not being in a position to escape with them.
It’s a team based game because if it wasn’t then you alone would be completing 5 gens and taking the killer’s aggro without anyone else helping you.
I get that survivors are not obligated to stick around in an effort to help the other teammates, but saying it’s not a “team based” game is a very weak excuse, not to mention incorrect. Especially since so much before the exit gates can actually be open revolves around working as a team.
Esentially you can do whatever you want, you can hop in a locker and hide the entire match for all we know, but that doesn’t change that someone else did something that helped you either escape or live a little longer.

They still have to wait, and if they are rescued and choose to just let me down them again, I'll intentionally avoid them until either they stop doing nothing, DC, or are the last person. That way, they don't get the convenience of leaving early.
I am just saying it doesn't fix the issue, just prolongs it, and not really by much.
For me, I don't like the change only because if you are trying to give someone the opportunity to get hatch, it doesn't help them if they have already found hatch and they now have to wait even longer for it to open because the killer is already on their way. So if it came down to the last two people it should have stayed instant as it is now.

I think the best survivor perks are actually very good and some were definitely too much like old DS. As a survivor main at this point I don't think the good perks are weak.
One thing I kind of do want is the meta to be shaken up a little bit. It gets a tad boring running BT, Dead Hard, Iron Will, etc. I want a new perk to really change up the style a bit which happens to killer somewhat often.
Can't really shake up the meta if built-in actions/mechanics aren't addressed, like Camping Slugging and Tunneling.
Because all those 3 are available to a killer at their own leisure. So if they keep being used, they stay common and survivors bring perks around that.
I'm with you on shaking up the meta, but they would have to start introducing built-in mechanics for survivors first. To give survivors more options outside of perks.

No I can’t.
Playing Killer would be boring and easy.

Mr. Puddles is more iconic tho, he even has a plushie charm!
-
This is why whenever they design a killer they should ALWAYS keep maps in mind.
To me he is worse than Plague, and that’s saying something because she isn’t the strongest killer. Because at least with her even though structures are also her weakness, it makes the survivor be forced to cleanse or remain one-shotted, whereas Trickster has to aim enough to get them to injured status.
I am not saying that there aren’t maps that certainly favor him for sure. I just think it’s kind of design 101 that maps should be taken into consideration when it comes to abilities being introduced because otherwise specific type of killers like this one become map dependent. Maps could stay as is, but design should be built with maps in mind.
-
Claudettes or Blendettes? Cuz you know there is a difference. Often times if they are Urbaning right away, I know exactly how they are going to play, but if they are not be very afraid.
-
I would just be happy if the only way No Ed activated was by a x numbe of hooks the killer has to get first.
The rest can remain the same. It just had never made sense for me that completing the survivor objective makes it activate.
-
I main Michael and for me, the only thing I would change is fix his stalk bar bug, because that doesn’t help matters when you think you are getting a 99% stalk but goes back down to 94% when you stop.
I think power-wise he is one of the few killers whose power feels rewarding because of how much of a punch it packs but without being brain dead like other killers (Freddy,Spirit). I like that he has to work to get there and it creates an intense dynamic between survivors and him when he does.
I would probably change some of his add ons, to me more up to par and maybe even some of his meme-ey add ons could get a small buff too.
Otherwise I think he is a good place.

You don't need to be protected from simple game mechanics the whole game. If DS saves you from being hooked one time then you get full use of the perk. Killers eat the ds because they're sure they can get you back down and then they dont have anything else to worry about. If i've been DS'ed for tunneling anything after that isn't tunneling and im just playing the game as intended.
I'm just saying there is a big difference between heavily punished and a soft punish.

"It doesn't matter if it's considered throwing the game or not."
The purpose of anti-tunnel perks is not to make it literally impossible to be tunneled. Their purpose is to make it heavily punishing and difficult if the killer tries to. IE "throwing the game".
"Seeking out a survivor seconds (literally) after they have been unhooked is still deemed as tunneling."
We don't disagree on this but this isn't the scenario we're talking about.
"Especially if like I said, they walk past by someone and don't even bother."
We aren't talking about a killer ignoring other survivors. We are literally stating that simply being fully healed means you weren't tunneled off hook. You gaining an entire health state is progressing the game as it's resetting map pressure.
Then if it is suppose to heavily punish them, it would work on 1st and 2nd hook. Unless you think a killer can only tunnel from 1 stage and not the other. This just shows how flawed this design for a perk is.
"The purpose of anti-tunnel perks is not to make it literally impossible to be tunneled."
So instead it is to make it easier to tunnel? I am not sure what you get at with this comment. As others have pointed out, many times killers don't even care about DS because the stun only deters them so much. IE They still continue to tunnel. I am not sure how healing (and only beginning to heal) makes it virtually impossible to tunnel someone.
The example I provided about killers walking by other survivors like they aren't even acknowledged was after you claim that just because someone is "healed" means they aren't being tunneled. In the new meta, many killers want survivors to 1 second heal just so they lose their DS before tunneling them off.
-
@Blueberry said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2073168#Comment_2073168
Finding a survivor is not the same as seeking out a survivor.
Him doing this is throwing the entire game anyway. Not to mention for DS to even be deactivated you had to have completely full healed yourself...DS deactivated but you have 2 health states now.
It doesn't matter if it's considered throwing the game or not. Seeking out a survivor seconds (literally) after they have been unhooked is still deemed as tunneling. Especially if like I said, they walk past by someone and don't even bother.
It's a clear indicator that they have one purpose, to tunnel.

This is totally wrong. Self-healing does not contradict the fact that a killer is tunneling the survivor. During a chase, there are small times when the survivor can afford to be still, momentarily safe, and observing what the killer is doing. Near a pallet, at the corner of a wall, etc. During these small times, he can heal himself.
This does not change the fact that this killer is indeed tunneling, and therefore there is no reason for this killer to avoid DS. This currently punishes survivors who play correctly.
We could take the logic even further regarding healing from other survivors, but that would be too much for you, I'm afraid.
You only have to think rationally to understand this point.
Bravo.

None of this was stated whatsoever.
Who says he saw anyone?
Just because he happens to run into you twice because you greeded a heal doesn't mean you were tunneled. You're adding random scenarios to make it fit.
And a killer "finding" a survivor isn't a scenario? That is the same logic you just try to apply.
Not every killer "finds" a survivor. Sometimes they purposely seek them out.

"They obviously changed it based on YOUR actions, so why would someone else healing you deactivate it?"
That's simply not true. They even verbatum stated they changed it so that anything progressing the game and actions that are incapable of being done if you were truly being tunneled are the deactivation condition. "YOUR" actions was never mentioned.
"You can still tunnel someone out even if they are fully healed. That's why the description doesn't specifically state "if you're being tunneled"... it list conditions that must be followed by you, the person unhooked."
No, you cannot, because it is no longer considered tunneling if you had time to stand there and get healed. The killer showing up to the hook an extra entire heal state worth of time later to down you even if you were fully healed is not you being tunneled. You were greedy and stayed. That is the killer capitalizing on that greed.
Healed or not. Any killer who ignores everyone else to the point of not even hitting them while walking by, to go for that one person who just got unhooked is tunneling.
-
@Blueberry said:
Yes. If you have time to heal yourself you aren't being tunneled.
I'll take it even further and say if you have time to get healed by someone else you also aren't being tunneled. Should be added to the deactivation.

You can still tunnel someone out even if they are fully healed. That's why the description doesn't specifically state "if you're being tunneled"... it list conditions that must be followed by you, the person unhooked.

I don't believe it should. It does not progress the game, it actually does the opposite, and slows down the game.

Unfortunately because of the RNG in every match, it is not possible to predict on whether you will need D-strike or not. It all depends on the killer because tunneling is possible in every single match.
For me, I've had matches where I have certainly needed it because the killer wanted to tunnel at the start of the match. Fortunately I have a lot of game knowledge where I could use other means to try and avoid it. I can't even imagine those new people who haven't even gotten around to purchasing Laurie, and how they must feel being new and getting tunneled out of the game, simply because nothing has been done to deter it aside from a perk.

I just think having that easy access to such a powerful debuff on such a long timer is stupid especially the green one.
But as I said huntress also has a lot of garbage filler addons so regardless of her power level her addons need a rework
Her green add on gives you a longer exhaustion timer than the exhaustion perk's timer itself.
50 seconds longer to be exact. Totaling a 90 seconds exhaustion, which is just ridiculous and outdated. 😂
