  • Not surprising at all.

This is what happens when you make flat number changes and don't compensate on the other side.

The problem is now stacking effects. There is such thing as too much.

Team work only works in swf.

Honestly even in swf some of the things they have changed were too much.

It's never about DH, smh. Did you even read what people are complaining about? Or you just assume things and try to be ignorant

Dead Hard lives in their minds rent-free post nerf, its always about Dead Hard.

Survivor Mains: "You see this is my problem with Camping and the new 5 second endurance..."

Killer mains: "Git gud you aren't good without Dead HArD".

It has gotten to the point where I don't expect them to even read anymore.

  • Actually yes take the free BT and give us more meaningful changes.

  • I agree and I encourage survivor mains to speak up.

  • Yun Jin looks much younger in the concept art.

Those killers needed those changes even before the patch, that's a balancing issue, they have massive map control. This patch didn't actually do much for them, they just got stronger due to the gens being longer, but it was exactly the same amount of stronger that all the other killers got to. So addressing them specifically would be a mistake, because the core problem isn't them, it's the tunneling and camping. Which fixing them wouldn't solve.

The patch certainly did more for them. If you have a Nurse patrolling gens and she has CoB + the new Overcharge you ARE going to feel the difference. If you have a Nurse that proxy camps at all times a 3-second DS is not going to mean much for her anymore.

Killers like Nurse and Blight are exactly the reason why I am against universal buffs, and why they should have buffed each killer individually.

You yourself used the current "Cage" system, and I am telling you why it wouldn't work. The killer still receives a notification of where it is located, so it would just prompt them to go to that exact area.

I don't want them to nerf killers. I want them to keep killers exactly as they are, I want them to change all the hooks in the game to act the same way that cage of atonement does. And at the same time remove ALL camping and tunneling perks from the game. That way killers can't tunnel or camp, and survivors will have no perks that are toxic towards killers who can't do the things they were designed for.

Think about it, if when you hooked someone they disappeared and appeared at a random place on the map, the only people you would have to blame if they didn't get unhooked fast enough is other survivors.

Some killers do need nerfing though (Blight, Nurse) because under the new meta they become too oppressive.

Specifically with the things you are complaining about on the survivor side which are Camping and Tunneling. If the hooks work exactly like cages from PH do now, you'd have a Nurse who can insta blink back to the cage upon getting a notification of where it is. Meanwhile no DS, no BT to save you. You are back to square one.

You can't expect killers to have their toys and not use them. It's just silly non sense.

Lol survivors got a single semi decent perk buff in the entire update when killers get about 40 and they still whine saying it’s broken yet a survivor can’t even ask why thanatophobia was buffed without being called whiney, the double standards r painful…

You haven't been around these forums long have you?

You'll learn soon enough... trust me. 😂

  • 5 seconds was fine.

Tunneling already needed to be looked at anyway. Let alone getting buffed by nerfing DS's stun time.

  • Or just stop visiting the forums because at the end of the day people will complain no matter what.

If people are having bad experiences, it is pretty much common knowledge that they will often come to the forums and complain about x/y/z.

If your standard waiting period is a week... then it's easy... Don't Read It and wait a week before you do.

  • It's going to be a luxury for people like me who knew how to bait it out. To the people who often didn't know how to bait it out and whiffed instead, it was a necessity.

  • That Adam cosmetic though, could have been more fun. Why pajamas?

  • I can't speak for the "Will they lose players" portion because nobody knows.

What I can tell you is that this patch is bad for new players.

Oh, don't take me wrong! I do believe people that use DH can loop, it's just that it's still a boost for something they don't need.

If you know how to loop, you don't need DH. Using DH back then was just a guaranteed win despite being outplayed. I don't mind new players using it, but the problem was with actual good people using it. Lowkey felt like "abusing" it despite that not being true. Now, Dead Hard is perfect. I love that the distance comes after you succcesfully dodge the hit. It feels more rewarding and like there's an actual skill-gap. I don't think DH is dead at all, specially not now that many killers don't expect people using DH anymore.

Just as with other exhaustion perks, Dead Hard had it's weaknesses. The problem is that many are using what you call "outplay" as you should be down when in fact they swung and whiffed instead. Certainly there was the scenario of the pallet/window, but if you were in an area where neither of those two were took place that was on the killer's own ability to bait out Dead Hard.

So when I hear arguments about "abusing".... I can't help to think all those times I have been using Sprint Burst and getting away with other things Dead Hard could not. In other words all the other exhaustion perks ALSO have these scenarios, they just don't seem as annoying because you aren't exactly whiffing (although you can with SB in some situations).

  • So, another half-baked idea huh?

    Who knew!

  • I'd be bored out of my mind if I needed that much time to kill survivors tbh.

I was talking about normal matches, not the worst-case scenario but yeah

Camping has ALWAYS been a problem in DBD since 2016 and it should definitely get addressed. Personally, I feel like these buffs will make it so devs look at these frustrating things and finally start to balance it in a more appropiate way without feeling too bad for making a killer "too weak"

You are right, the devs have had an opportunity to address camping since 2016. Killrates shouldn't be the only determining factor of why things need to change, it should be more specific than that.

Camping/Tunneling/Map Design/Specific killers lacking mobility/Specific perks... those are the problems people have been on their mind.

Telling us that you often felt bad for the killer doesn't mean that they need a boost. It can also mean that THAT specific killer might be weaker in certain areas. Or that your or his/her own skill are in completely different places.

The fact that you say "can't loop without E" tells me that you actually think people who had DH can't loop. Which believe it or not... they can. It's just that a lot of the gameplay when you have dead hard involves you purposely out-positioning yourself, to bait the killer to swing. Because at the end of the day THAT is the point of Dead Hard (or was). I don't see how this patch brings "thrill" when they were just flat nerfs/buffs without meaningful changes on the other side.

  • Yep it’s very tense when a killer is just camping while your body hangs on a hook.

How is it rent-free when it was in almost every match? Rent was paid

Do you ever think that maybe the perk was just fun and that’s why you saw it a lot?

Like, I get that in very specific scenarios it could prompt survivors to have the upper hand but there were also moments when the perk did nothing. Unless you were a bad killer who cannot bait it out by simply not swinging.

  • So far you have just proven my point regarding the toxicity DBD brings out.

Got anything else? Or is talking nonsense about me because I point out how DBD isn’t an optimized game (something that everyone and their mother knows about) all you got?

A game that has been out for 6 years can’t get it together and you have a problem with its critiques. Sorry, you must be new here.

Also more Balanced Landing and Lithe players. The average survivor can't 99 Sprintburst, but they can certainly DH for distance.

Nah I don’t mind Lithers or BL users. Sprint Burst is stronger because you don’t need to do anything other than have it ready.

With an attitude like that, I'm glad you decided to move away from DbD.

It’s called don’t dish what you can’t take buddy.

I am also glad to be moving away from DBD. The toxicity that comes from it is not worth it. Oh yeah! Something else that game doesn’t have. 😊

Yeah that's why I have a 50 winning streak as Necro.

Tell me you are bad at a game without telling me you're bad at a game.

  • @Shroompy said:

People really dont realize what her strength is huh? She is probably the most unique killer in the game atm and people are trying to turn her into the next Freddy.

That so called "gimmick" is what you want to focus on, not hooks. At least for the early game. Focus on one Survivor and keep track on how much condemnation they have. If you down them, dont go for the hook but instead slug. It wastes less of your time and wastes just as much time for Survivors.

Notice your target grab a tape? Find them as fast as you can if you some how lost track of them. They just gave themselves a stack of Condemned and you can stop them from inserting a tape by teleporting to the TV theyre trying to use, which gives another stack. STBFL also works very well at stopping them from inserting a tape while on cooldown.

If they try to take chase while theyre holding a tape, back up, create distance and wait at least 6 seconds until you start approaching. Then approach and moonwalk towards them and as long as you dont initiate a chase theyll keep passively gaining Condemned.

Once you get rid of your first Survivor you can either go for the other Survivors normally and simply use TV's for map traversal, or if other Survivors were trying to bodyblock for your first target you can simply turn them into your new target.

Am I saying shes S tier? No. Am I saying this strategy works 100% of the time? No. But what strategy does work 100% of time?

What I am saying is shes FAR from the weakest killer and nobody is taking the proper time to learn her.

I have come to believe that some people just aren't meant to play killer honestly.

Unless they have a map telling them step by step exactly what to do, they really don't know what to do with that killer if it hit them in the head.

  • It's not. I love Sadako and do quite well as her.

  • For the record, it's not 10 seconds, it's 50. 10 seconds PER Gen.

I mean, that's why BT will still be meta probably, because of the added endurance, so people will hit the survivor at 5 seconds when they will have a free get away because the killer didn't think of upgraded BT

I don’t doubt BT will still be meta. However, if this is what they meant when they said they wanted to “shake the meta” then I would say they have done a poor job when it comes to the Camping/Tunneling meta.

I absolutely understand that some of the changes needed to happen, but it baffles me that this one issue got a band-aid instead of taking the opportunity to flip it around and make it more fun for both sides.

At the very least flat out face-camping should have gotten a debuff. At the very least.

I have over 7k hours and have always supported BHVR through means of buying cosmetics (I have over 300k iri shards in the bank that I’ve never used as a result). This is the first time that I have felt they have let me down and honestly haven’t felt like purchasing anything nor playing. I play 1-2 matches where I am either camped or tunneled or a combination of the two and I am out. Prior to that I was playing at least every other day and on my days off.

I’ve started playing Evil Dead, a much more optimized/balanced game and while I am not saying I am going to completely be gone. I feel like I’m already distancing from DBD anyway.

I am sure others feel the same way.

  • It’s whatever about people saying they are leaving, but a 5 second endurance doesn’t address Camping and Tunneling.

I am not sure in what world they thought that killers can’t just wait it out the same way they have been doing now.

I do not blame survivors for wanting to leave the game. It is within their own right to do so.

If every killer was at the same level in terms of power and mobility, they could actually balance the rest of the game including maps. I've been saying this for ages.

I think Trapper needs a mini bike to ride on.

    Yep. We know this.

Which is why I think some of the changes for killer are kind of absurd. They still don’t reach near where certain (not all) M1 killers should be, while directly overturning killers like Nurse/Blight.

I’ve always suggested to re-evaluate each killer individually and to give them a universal “travel” power. Think of something like the entity opening a rift/portal in the middle of the map or it’s vicinity. Could be something that could be on cooldown. This would help alleviate some of those hurdles that M1 killers often come across where it is not costing them too much pressure time when they hook someone opposite of the most recent generator being worked on.

  • Congratulations, you have just contributed to keeping the discussion about a Nurse well and alive.

  • Must be a full moon tonight.

    Nah, Nurse is fine.

Just discovered a Japanese Twitter Account full of Nurse-videos of games which ended in under 2 minutes (many under 1 minute). So many Survivors having Skill Issues, I cannot believe it!

    😂 haha so true

  • Why is the sky blue?

  • Why would they?

It's not like every killer needs this.

If there is an issue with map design, and gen placement, they should focus on giving every killer some type of mobility ability.

  • I'll start to worry about Pig when they actually do something about Nurse.

You know... the one that actually needs a nerf.

  • Nobody is talking about it because it is not an exploit.

  • Same reason why killers slug and camp at 5 gens.

  • Why do you think they people will “underestimate distances” when the entire purpose survivors intentionally made you think that was because they could dash?

Like, the logic behind this is so odd. People still think that DH users were actually just underestimating distances this whole time?

Oof. It’s no wonder some of you whiffed even after you knew DH was in play.

  • For me it’s simple.

It comes down to the core design of her power when combined with add ons and perks that exist within the game.

Many Nurse games where I have sincerely felt she didn’t even feel like she belong in the game, were Nurses with multiple slow down effects that stacked while having double range add ons while Camping and Tunneling.

I think if perks and add ons didn’t make her near unbearable, more people would enjoy going against her. She becomes too oppressive when she can access other tools (perks-add ons) to allow her to do so.

Am I saying she shouldn’t be able to use certain perks? Not at all. But at this point in the game I do think that stacking perk effects should be looked at and also her add ons. Because there are too many perks that do the same thing and you can stack on a killer who really doesn’t need it.

  • I don’t know anything about Attack On Titans but I’m excited for the outfits.

  • Hopefully sooner than later.

  • For me, the main 4 OG characters.

    Meg, Dwight, Claudette, Jake.

Imagine it being sort of like how saw movies worked where they were the same concept but with different people each time. For me Meg is the last girl until another new survivor/s enters the fog next season. Etc

Bro it's a simple question - answer scenario. OP asked a question, you answered, I pointed out the answer was incomplete. It is literally that simple.

to which I have yet to see a response because you know damn well Billy wouldn't work like Bubba.

And you will not be getting a response to that because that's exactly the rant I'm talking about. You are completely off topic with this.

I never once claimed these two Killers were the same or would function the same way, all I did was bring Bubba in as an example for how Hillbillys overheat would function IF the main concern was to not let him camp with the chainsaw. Because Bubbas overheat was designed specifically to stop him from camping and nothing else, while Billys overheat also nerfs him in other aspects. That is all I said, yet you managed to turn it into a balance debate on both of them because you were reading way too much into my original comment, as I have already pointed out earlier.

You are literally arguing with yourself on this topic and you don't even realize it.

Also, this will be my last response to this. I have better things to do with my time than repeatedly telling you how far off topic you are.

Yes you brought up Bubba as an example of how Billy's overheat should work and I gave you a video example of why it wouldn't work. Yet claim I somehow brought up Bubba as a rant:

    Untitled Image

^Yes that's you mentioning Bubba for the first time in this thread. The only reason I went into it is because of you insisting that Billy's overheat mechanic could work like his.

Do you even play killer? Or read your own stuff for that matter? LOL

Yeah you DO have better things to do, like learning how to read.
