Let's go through these buffs shall we?

Bloodlust buff? Irrelevant. Bloodlust literally disappears whenever you break a pallet, wall, or gen. The only thing bloodlust does is incentivize killers to literally run around in a circle around loops doing nothing. Bloodlust is garbage and needed to be removed (along with maps getting a rework because terrible map design is the only reason why bloodlust exists) and instead they buffed it... a meaningless buff that did nothing.

Gen progression buff? Pretty much the only thing that actually mattered but again... wrong change. NO ONE, wants gens to last longer because we know holding M1 on a gen is boring. Survivors need an actual 2nd objective to do that will progress the game or be a natural slowdown instead of just "hehe hold M1 10 seconds longer"

Gen regression buff? It's literally garbage LMFAO. 2.5% is absolutely nothing. It shaves off about 2 seconds from a gen, meanwhile it takes nearly 2 seconds just to KICK a gen. Kicking gens is still an absolute waste of time.

Hit cooldown buff? Noticeable, but didn't change anything. Survivors still safely reach loops with no harm to them so hit cooldown is cool and all but nothing changed in actual gameplay, in terms of killer - survivor interaction after hitting someone.

"Perk buffs so you can make gens go even slower" bro we make gens go slower in the LIVE build with pop. Pop got killed. Ruin got BUTCHERED. Call of brine and overcharge are an overrated combo that no one seems to get that once you kick a gen people are on it like white on rice. Again, cool change. But in the grand scheme of things. Most gens have more than one person working on them, so if you just kick it and then chase one of them... the other guy will simply just go back to the gen and that regression is irrelevant.

    Oh it’s you again.

Considering that bloodlust didn’t need a buff. Because of the vast amount of unsafe pallets that exist since the pallet nerf (something which I am certain you are unaware of) I would hardly call that meaningless.

As for the rest, your opinion. Doesn’t change the fact that they ARE Buffs. I am sure if we got a built in vault speed you wouldn’t be calling it “meaningless” even tho players are well aware that hits at vaults are many times ridiculous.

    Go play survivor.

  • There should be some sort of built in way for survivors who have been slugged for too long to get up.

Afterall, killers can slug until their hearts content, so I don’t see a problem with something to counter from the survivor side.

  • what are you talking about…

You got a bloodlust buff, a gen progression buff, a gen regression buff, a hit cooldown buff AND perk buffs so you can make gens go even slower.

But the 5 seconds that you can wait out is killing you? If it means that much to you leave the hook ffs.

  • Iron Will was over nerfed regardless of how it affects Spirit.

With Cherry Blossom she don’t need to hear you.

  • @BenZ0 said:

Standing very obvious openly close to the hook and expect me to just leave for no reason?

I had a game where the ENTIRE team stood next to the hook everyone staring at me.

They all complained at me and said ppl like me ruin this event bla bla. I tried to explain them to not stand openly next to the hook and expect the killer kindly to let you unhook and learn to hide close to it till he leaves. Ofc they didnt really engaged to that conversation and kept insulting me that I am a camper and have no skill etc.

I dont care about the insult and whining, I just cant get this in my head how ppl like this who obviously dislike camping alot dont do ANYTHING against that or try to play around it. They even feed into this camping playstyle and make it even easier for me to get kills like that.

Because not every scenario is the survivors being reckless. The killer by default knows a survivor will pop up sooner or later. So they stick around and might move a few meters WHILE looking back at the hook. I.E. Force free pressure.

Nobody is saying that every camping scenario means the killer never left. The part where it is a problem is when it is happening consistently. Because it creates a meta in and of itself, and since all survivors have against that are perks. They continue to bring the SAME perks over and over. THAT is what people have a problem with, and what should change.

  • And yet many of us who play killer think SWF is fine.

You only like SoloQ because survivors are randomly chosen regardless of their skill and don’t rely on each other as much as they do in SWF. Get a good soloQ team and they can stomp you just as much as a SWF will.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3032863#Comment_3032863

But that is my point. That it's always gonna be there, there is no changing it.

If you simply give killers incentives to go out and chase other people and have an actual POSITIVE to doing so. It would happen so much less. It would go from being bad killers, good killers, and toxic killers doing it. To just toxic killers. Bad killers who tunnel don't ever win anyway as they are simply bad and not good enough. Good killers can now play the game freely without being held hostage to one viable boring strat. And toxic killers are such a small percentage and they'd still be doing it but it's a minority.

You can't just give survivors all these tools to combat tunneling without giving killers another route they can take, it's literally the dumbest thing you can do because all you do is yea kill the boring playstyle... but you've given no other option for killers to stay competitive so then they're just stuck with nothing.

And what we are telling you is that adding "other" reasons without addressing the actual core issue with how convenient it is to Camp/Tunnel someone out is an awful idea.

  • @HexPleaseLetMeSpeak said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3032766#Comment_3032766

Yes... the killers that do tunnel for the sole purpose of tunneling to be toxic... those are outliers.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3032767#Comment_3032767

Because those are outliers. Those who literally tunnel for purpose of tilting survivors are outliers. You literally cannot compare them to the amount of killers that just play naturally.

There will ALWAYS be killers who camp and tunnel, that will literally never go away. Same way that there will always be survivors who constantly flashy clicky or teabag. It will always be a thing.

For the purpose of tilting survivors? What are you going on about right now.

There will ALWAYS be killers who camp and tunnel, that will literally never go away. Same way that there will always be survivors who constantly flashy clicky or teabag. It will always be a thing.

We know. Literally we know this. That is why they should change it. Clicky t bagging doesnt magically repair gens, whereas Camping/Tunneling does provide a benefit to the killer and their objective.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3032223#Comment_3032223

You guys can say it happens often but it literally doesn't. If you genuinely believe there are that many killers who literally camp and tunnel just for the purpose of tilting survivors and being annoying, compared to the amount who just play the game naturally, then you are delusional to believe that.

As delusional as it is to believe that they wouldn't tunnel if the playstyle stayed untouched. Please

  • I don't see how anything would change.

Those players wanted to farm you off hook WHILE they had a clear visual where Bubba was. Smart players would sneak in at best or abort and run away. Only thing this shows is how behind DBD developers are in addressing Campers.

  • @Veinslay said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3031156#Comment_3031156

They should run statistics on how many survivors escape in 3 and 4 man SWFs when the killer doesn't camp or tunnel. Probably in the 90% range

Not the topic at hand but sure, they should. Then they can determine whether or not it is an issue.

So far, they have determined Camping has issues.

  • @dreamsy10 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3032197#Comment_3032197

Not true. Most of killer's tunnel because survivor objective are way faster than killer's objective. Killer's are punished for hooking survivors. Time to enter a chase, time to down a survivor, time to go to a hook = 1/2 gens at least if you play against decent team.

And then what killer's get for that hook? Nothing, especially when they nerfed pop to the ground, and scourge hooks arent even reliable since they can be on the other side of the map; plus now they nerfed the pain resonance, killer's can't even know at which gen to go.

So why is it that a lot of the camping happens while 5 gens remain up? Huh?

What say you about that one? Because it happens often.

If I told a child they can have one of the bags of candy on the table, and one of them is full and the other has like 5, which one do you think they are going to pick? Like, it's not that complicated. The devs should never design a mechanic based around the attitude you are going to have during that match. That is bad design, plain and simple.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3032192#Comment_3032192

Sure, Survivors can induce the conditions to make camping optimal, but this isn't always the case. The Killer is often motivated to camp because it is easy and effective, even when it is too early to determine its necessity. A killer inclined to camp won't leave the hook for any reason or at any point. The actions of the Survivors or the state of the trial are immaterial. So to say camping is only a Survivor-created issue is disingenuous.

I couldn't have said it better myself.

Those of us who play both sides know and understand this. Camping is way too convenient. You know for a fact someone will show up to make a save, so why bother going to pressure a gen if you don't need to? (As an example).

  • They could add a million reasons and you would still tunnel as long as that playstyle remains available.

  • "She is literally the only killer that is viable"

    LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL 😂

  • I don't think they themselves play the game enough to get camped and tunneled to the extent that people know, so at this point I don't know what they are doing anymore.

They keep saying that they value new players, yet Camping and Tunneling occurs from the BEGINNING. Meaning that someone who just bought the game who has no clue how to attempt to run a loop is screwed because they have no BT or DS perks. Yet the killer has accessibility to those playstyles from the start.

I truly don't believe they know how easy it is to camp. Meaning it requires 0 skill.

  • @Mandy said:

You can still hook trade, it's a bit more difficult to pull off successfully but it's doable.

We will be watching the feedback to all these changes very intently and things can be adjusted prior to the PTB going Live - so please test things and let us know.

Good luck getting a hook trade now on someone who has 8 stacks of STBFL.

  • @Bwsted said:

If this is accurate, it would just make BT mandatory again. Great change of meta.

    It will make it mandatory.

They have done nothing-nada-zipppo towards changing the actual reason why BT gets brought in so much. The band-aid was just stretched.

    Untitled Image

They should run statistics on how many people kill just by camping/tunneling. I am betting it is something in the 90% range.

  • Except those games are actually much more optimized and balanced than DBD, at least in the case of Evil Dead.

DBD let's some of the more weaker killers stack effects via perk, rendering the more oppressive ones busted.

  • @TAG said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3030278#Comment_3030278

Sure, but that doesn't say much about how effective it is in the endgame specifically. Gonna need something a bit more specific than that.

I already told you. If the gates are too far from the hook, how is that "Player Error"?

In what world is that any of their control?

  • @TAG said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3030175#Comment_3030175

I don't believethat the RNG presents enough scenarios where DS won't enable the escape, barring the aforementioned player error.

Uh- ok. I mean that's more opinion. Seeing as how many of us bring DS and sometimes still die with DS.

  • @TAG said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3030154#Comment_3030154

I would argue that with BT or even the new base kit changes to unhooking, the scenarios where you can't make the escape with DS mostly boil down to player error a majority of the time.

No. It boils down to Random Number Generator.

Something that is just as equally devastating for a killer.

  • @TAG said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3029996#Comment_3029996

Those standards should be contextual based on what point of the game we are at, though, as that determines what the goals and strategies are for each side, though.

Providing 1 example of DS being used at EGC where you successfully get out isn't "contextual" enough. Because many of us who actually play DS know that there are also cases where the gates are too far.

So the whole idea that just because someone has a perk at EGC active does not mean = free escape. That is what I am getting at.

  • @TAG said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3029970#Comment_3029970

That's just called camping. Nothing is stopping person A from standing in between the Huntress and person B while they unhook person C.

    Potatoe-potato.

The point is that if we are setting specific standards then it should be for both sides.

"Free kills, like when killers camp? Got it."

I guess you really haven't read my posts. That isn't what I've said, at all.

"Since you guys wanna get technical, killer is still camping at endgame so DS should not deactivate."

Camping does not give a free kill, DS does give a free escape. I have still said I wanted camping/tunneling changes as well anyway.

"Funny how a playstyle which isn’t a perk (so it doesn’t need to get brought in) doesn’t get the same argument in it’s technicalities."

It literally does, are we on the same forums? Posts on it 24/7. Most the forums literally agrees that comping/tunneling needs addressing myself included. The game simply needs balance changes to accommodate this.

"Meanwhile you want nothing to stand in your way of stackable endgame perks."

What are you even talking about? I have never said a single thing about this. I even literally said on this page I wanted NOED gutted...

    Camping doesn’t give free kills?

So when A Huntress just holds her hatchet and waits to down someone that isn’t a free kill? What do you call that then? A Convenient kill?

I did read through what you typed that is the whole reason I don’t agree. You are finding every little technicality you can with a perk, so if someone gets unhooked and then killer continues to chase that same person, they should keep DS. I mean if we believe in not wanting free kills, because everyone knows that just because you have DS means you escape by using it. It is very dependent on gate location, map RNG etc.

  • @TAG said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3029922#Comment_3029922

If we're getting super technical, DS turns off when you are trying to complete your objective, so if you're objectice is to leave the trial, then DS should turn off when you're trying to leave the trial. ;)

Yeah nice try. Then you can deactivate it when my ass goes past those gates.

And if you are technically chasing the same person that just got unhooked, you can stop tunneling them and switch to someone else if you want it deactivated.

  • @Blueberry said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3029784#Comment_3029784

Because free kills/escapes shouldn't be a thing and being active at end game perks like OTR enable that.

For you maybe that's the case, but that is not reality. The sheer existence of end game perks shows that.

Free kills, like when killers camp? Got it.

Since you guys wanna get technical, killer is still camping at endgame so DS should not deactivate.

Funny how a playstyle which isn’t a perk (so it doesn’t need to get brought in) doesn’t get the same argument in it’s technicalities.

Meanwhile you want nothing to stand in your way of stackable endgame perks.

  • I really hate when they do platform exclusives.

  • Tell me you want free downs without telling me you want free downs.

  • Because they knew you’d be right there to watch them.

  • Use OTR.

“We’re gonna shake up the meta perk by making a different perk take its place, instead of addressing the actual issue” 🤡

  • When you think you have seen it all, then I read a forum post like this one.

    Wow.

  • My problems with solo queue have nothing to do with lack of communication tbh.

    I often wonder how:

I run the killer and no one is doing a gen.

I am hooked, and the only person coming to save crouches, then decides they don’t want to save because they hear a heartbeat.

I am on my death hook and teammate with 0 hooks won’t even try to take a hit, but will instead run as far away possible.

I am able to do 4 gens while injured while getting unhooks, and they are literally dropping like flies.

I am not saying I am a perfect teammate, but I am competent enough to understand that there are choices within the game that matter. There have been many times I have brought kindred and i wish I hadn’t because it only showed me what I did not wanna see… survivors not being efficient whatsoever.

So if Kindred couldn’t make them do it, I don’t see how an icon will.

  • @C3Tooth said:

    Startruck Nurse is okay.

Blink attack count as basic attack is not okay.

I agree, imagine if Legion could 1-shot through frenzy. Just because he is on his feet doesn’t make him any more BS than she is.

Nurse gets away with a lot at base already.

  • Because you are still able to Camp.

  • I tend to think the same.

He is not an “empath” or “healer” IMO, he is a fighter. They could have done something more creative along the lines of what you suggested.

  • Yes this way I have receipts when I ask my teammates post match why they weren’t doing any gens while I was being chased OR you-know anything at all.

This way I can also calculate if only one or all of them are crouching and I need to go for the save.

I am pretty sure being able to show everyone’s auras is going to force those teammates to optimize the objective and commit to a gen or take a hit fit the teammate on death hook. I am sure of it. /s

  • This is the part that triggers me about the devs.

They don’t take into account stuff like this. The perk got a huge nerf when you consider how easy it is to spot survivors via sound.

If they are making drastic changes then every single survivor should fall in the same line in terms of how loud they are. Jeff and Jane’s audio are WAY too loud. They need to either re-do their audio or lower it.

For me Iron Will should have been changed so that the grunts and cries fade in and out. Almost like they are really trying not to get spotted but at some point they can’t help it because they are injured. This way the killers aren’t getting the shaft and the survivors also still see a reason to bring the perk.

  • "Prove me wrong"

PTB isn't even out yet. Also Camping and Tunneling wasn't addressed. It's still a band-aid to a core issue, It's just a bigger band-aid.

  • @Nathan13 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3021230#Comment_3021230

I just don’t understand why reducing stun duration was needed… this is only a one time use and it’s kinda useless against high mobility killers. If the new off the record goes live I’ll be using that instead of DS.

    Yup, it's a weird move...

  • Yay no more crying...

Oh wait, now you're gonna cry about something new. 🙄

  • Because they seem to be going off of “numbers using x perk” rather than the why.

They think DS is actually a good perk against a killer who does not tunnel. 🤷‍♂️ At which point you either throw yourself at the killer (not a good idea) or you deactivate it by performing an action.

Which, again, just gives off this idea that whoever made those decisions does not know their own game.

  • I don’t think anyone expects you to two hook everyone.

However, that being said. Players question Tunneling as a “balanced” strat overall. That message and feedback is for the devs not for you to have sympathy.

  • @Ayamir said:

    But who's everyone tho ?

Dead hard was always the superior exhaustion perk Blight doesn't care about sprint Burst he can literally catch up to you in seconds same for Oni in Blood Fury, even Billy can use his chainsaw to catch a survivor faster.

Sprint Burst will only hurt the 110 killers like Huntress,Deathslinger holding W against them is great since they're so slow.

SB doesn't help you in chase,Lithe and Balanced Landing will help you even tho they're more situational but at least they help you get distance from the killer while in chase which is good to reach the next loop.

You say that and yet not only have I been able to dodge Blight's attack but gotten more distance than DH.

SB is just more boring to play with because you have to do a lot of walking. A lot evading. Which most survivors don't like.

  • This update sealed the deal for me when it comes to the question lingering in my head:

"Are the devs disconnected from their own game?"

To be fair, I have always advocated towards their every move more than I have not. I've always been on "their" side so to speak. This is the first time where I actually feel like I am honestly disappointed in them. Doubt, no, disappointment, yes.

To your point OP, they must think that everyone who goes to save is just farming a save. Because the killer never just stands there waiting for somebody else to trade. 🙄

  • Holding M1 simulator because it gives them more time to talk to their chat.

I'm aware this will come as a surprise to you but most killers don't actually enjoy camping, they do it because they feel currently it is required to even have a chance at higher MMR, if they had the option to not do it and still have a chance to win they would. You're problem is you assume the worst about Killer players and that they just want to ruin your experience, in all honesty the killer playerbase is a lot nicer and more wholesome than the vast majority of the survivor playerbase. Either way it doesn't matter because apparently the devs disagree with you.

What say you about the killers who do enjoy it and know they can take someone out of the game by simply enforcing that playstyle?

Killers. Still. Camp. At. 5. Gens.

Do all of them do it? No, but it still a common trend.

I've watched some gameplay and it looked pretty fun. Haven't gotten around to trying it out yet though. Less toxic? Sounds amazing! I've been busy selling my house and moving into another one. I'll most likely check it out when I have more time.

It is a ton of fun! and also congrats on the new home! :)

And yeah, less toxic, for one, they don't have post match chat. You can't communicate with the demon (killer). lol

Let me know if you decide to get it, and we can team up!
