  • Faith Connors from Mirror's Edge. Maybe not a new survivor, I would be fine with a legendary skin for Min since Lithe would make sense for Faith. I just want to see Faith in the game, she's one of my favorite video game characters of all time.

  • The devs need to either double our bloodpoint gains or remove perk tiers, the grind for this game is too much.

  • Do you think it would be okay to let WGLF work with these? I don't think anyone would have a problem with that

That’s the issue I’m trying to point out. The sound. Chase music should go off, and instead of footsteps we could get a directional phasing sound.

She does not need a directional phasing sound. Just footstep noises are enough, when I play spirit I can track footsteps just fine.

  • Spirit is not op. however, addons are. I hate addons and how they make perfectly balanced killers like Spirit, Billy, Oni or Freddy too strong. You can hear her footsteps while she's phasing, but the chase music is so loud that you can barely hear it.

At this point I'm waiting for it to be something like "Hey, those graphical updates are going to apply to bloody cosmetics as well. Now your prestige is even more rewarding."

They're going to make P3 Nea look good again? I can't wait. I also like the idea of a bloody version of Kate's white slip dress

Yeah Clown has a really boring power, he just needs a rework instead of a buff

  • @ABannedCat said:

The funniest thing are survivors who justify them not doing totems by not having enough time. Without realising that generators already go too fast, and that totems actually balance out the game.

Against bad killers, sure. How about a good Billy, Oni, Nurse, Spirit or Freddy with their best perks and addons? You can barely reach the endgame by holding M1. Telling them to "just do bones" is dumb because the time they waste doing bones usually ends up costing them the game. NOED is too strong, no single perk should be able to win you games as well and as often as NOED does.

  • Yep, a competent team. The problem arises when 1 or 2 of your teammates are dead before the three gen happens, then you just want to get the game over with.

  • Spirit is a good killer, and while stridor is a great perk to use on her, don't depend on it too much as it can handicap you hearing survivor noises normally and it's a pretty cheap perk to run on her. Learn to track survivors by things like seeing tall grass rustle or hearing their footstep noises. A lot of iron will users I come across think that they're undetectable while using the perk and just run in a straight line, unaware that I can still see the grass and hear their footsteps, which ends in an easy down for me. One perk I really like on her is Surveillance, as it lets you hear survivors working on gens further away and it'll let you know when survivors get back on a gen so you can go for sneaky terror radius grabs. My spirit build is BBQ, surveillance, pop and any of these perks -> thrilling tremors, corrupt intervention, blood warden, devour hope, haunted grounds, sloppy butcher, nurse's calling. If I see three or four medkits/claudettes in the lobby, I switch out surveillance for nurse's calling and make my fourth perk sloppy butcher. There is nothing I love to see more than a Claudette self caring in a corner with nurse's calling.

  • Sure, spirit's basekit is balanced. Spirit becomes op when you slap on stridor or any good addons. As a spirit main, I never use stridor because of how cheap it is. I rarely use good addons because of how broken she can become with them. Addons need to be removed from the game/heavily reworked on the killer side, because they make balanced killers like oni, spirit and billy stupid op. The only good addons are the ones that completely rework how the killer is played, like Amanda's letter or mint rag. Spirit with good duration addons or activation charge addons is just ridiculous.

As for spirit changes, I liked Otz's idea where when she is using her power, she would flicker from her current position to where she was in her phase walk and then back every couple of seconds. It could allow good spirit players to time the flickering to mindgame the survivors into going a certain direction, and good survivors could use the flickering to mindgame her. Plus the standing still mindgame could be mmostly removed, since if there's no flickering then you would know for sure that she isn't using her power. I also think that her chase music needs to be significantly quieter, so that survivors can hear her footstep noises easier when she's phasing.

  • I'm not having any fun with this game. Solution? Play in a way that's super not fun! I don't know what you're trying to accomplish, but you're clearly not going about it well. If you're not having fun, just take a break from the game instead of going out of your way to ruin the experience for others.

  • Nancy could be too similar to Laurie, character wise. Quentin is a lot more unique, and the game didn't need another final girl

  • As a Spirit main? No. As a Huntress who's just trying to get better but gets bullied every round? Yes.

  • I just want to see what perks my teammates have at any given point during the match, it would make solo queue a lot more fun

I'd make Overcharge not give telekinesis.

Overcharge should trap you on the gen when you tap it, that way you can't tap gens in a chase without getting hit/grabbed

  • NOED: for every totem that is left on the map when the exit gates are powered, you gain a stack. Once NOED is active, all remaining totems will be lit up. Every time you hit someone, you lose a stack and one of the totems automatically snaps. NOED can still be a comeback perk, but it won't be as game changing or oppressive.

  • @Fiv55 said:

Freddy is strong yes, but only if you're asleep. I'd increase the passive sleep timer and thats it.

Fake pallet freddy isnt even that strong compared to snare spam freddy. Just wake urself up, remember the pallet spawns and drop fake pallets once you've fell asleep (to help ur mates). Try to keep you awake most of the time, dont let him hit you right away and he'll be a regular m1 killer with a teleport.

Just remove the passive sleep timer, or make it not go down in a chase. It's ridiculous that Freddy gets that much map pressure and stall for free.

  • Good job, this is very well put together.

Just wait until they Dead Hard once you know they have it?

Dead hard for distance. Not to avoid hits.

  • With all the typical onryo powers, or even just her in game powers, Spirit would destroy everything. Spirit without powers would maybe take a couple people out before dying of gunshot wounds

Honestly the new cosmetics are confusing to me. The new Spirit cosmetic suggests she died while wearing that, which doesn't make sense considering why would you wear that to a restaurant. Assuming thats void in the timeline of her wearing that cosmetic though, her feeling her legacy would have definitely made her not die.

But Kazan's cosmetic is strange. I could be wrong but I believe the description makes it sound like he was changed prior to being taken. That's not to say it's not impossible that the Entity changed Kazan into what he hated being called the most, considering skins like Demogorgon's is, but it'd be obvious he hates that more than anything else. Sometimes though the cosmetic lore doesn't fit in with the actual bio, but Kazan hating being called Oni-Yamaoka is something that has to be true across all timelines he was taken, considering his demise would've been different because of it.

    am i being confusing sorry

I think of every Spirit cosmetic as an alternate timeline where she died at a different time. The only two that don't apply to this would be the blight outfit and the frosting hair. I think that the frosting hair would be an afterlife sort of thing, where after dying she learns about her ancestors and lets her anger take over and turn her into an even scarier Onryo.

  • Dead hard for distance. Stupid and uncounterable, has lost me full games, same with keys.

  • People who try to be toxic are really funny, I don't get why people tunnel the head on or the flashlight clicker, they're just being stupid and it's a lot of fun. I love "toxic" squads because of how suicidal they are, last time I got one I could actually win on Ormond because they threw themselves at me over and over again. The only thing that really deserves tunneling is a key or Object if you think it's a sweaty SWF.

  • Why doesn't the spirit take advantage of the fact that she has floating disembodied arms? She could stand in the same place for the whole trial and just have her sword hand fly around stabbing people to death

Yeah, you're totally right! That's a great idea! Why not only play as a certain small selection of killers to counter a basekit non-ability that all survivor have access to in a game who's main draw is a wide array of cast members! Why didn't I think of that before?

Run [BLANK1] to counter [BLANK2] is not exactly good advice.

You hate Doctor? Just run calm spirit every game in case you get him, EZ counter

Hmm I'll add some rough math here since that's basically what the thread is about.

1540000000 total required divided by 30000 bp per game = 51333 games required to max out

51333 games times 25 mins per game = 1283333 minutes required to max out

1283333 minutes divided by 60 minutes per hour = 21389 hours required to max out, or 2.44 entire years of your life doing nothing but playing dbd

The math is really rough but maybe you'll find it fun to look at :P

Don't forget that survivors usually get only 20000 bloodpoints per match and not 30000

  • DS is really bad at anti tunneling, a good survivor will outrun the timer which is why they force it with lockers, otherwise they get no use out of their perk. Don't forget that if you're downed straight off the hook you can just get slugged for 60 seconds and then you're being tunneled with no consequence. And if you've fully healed and started doing a gen, the timer stays.

  • NOED is too powerful on good killers. If you're up against a good Spirit, Freddy, Nurse or Billy it's way too strong, since against those killers you don't have time to do totems, since if you waste your time finding and cleansing them you won't even make it to the endgame. Once all killers have been reworked or buffed like the Doctor was, NOED should be nerfed into the ground. But right now, there are more killers who need it to win than there are killers that it's op on, so it shouldn't be touched right now.

  • @DelsKibara said:

Just to do the math because I feel like it:

To take a character from Level 1 to 50 requires roughly around 1.750.000 Bloodpoints. Times that 3 times if you want to prestige the character, then there is a minimum of 5.250.000 Bloodpoints just to Prestige 3 Level 50 ONE CHARACTER. In total, there are currently 39 Characters for both Survivors and Killers. Meaning if you want to Prestige 3 Level 50 all of them, you need 204.570.000 Bloodpoints AT A MINIMUM (This is assuming you get are incredibly efficient with your Bloodwebs.

AND NOT ONLY THAT, if you want to get every perk in the game, you need roughly around 35.000.000 Bloodpoints. So, 1.750.000 away from the initial levelling and you still need 33.250.000 Bloodpoints to get every perk in the game on a single character. Which means you need to accumulate AT MINIMUM 1.296.750.000 Bloodpoints alongside the 204 million you need to Prestige 3 Level 50 every character in the game AND THAT IS IF YOU ARE BEING AS EFFICIENT AS POSSIBLE WITH YOUR BLOODWEB GRINDING.

Eternity is putting it mildly. Because this number can make BBQ and WGLF seem MANDATORY to some.

That's ridiculous. Maybe you should post that as its own thread, it's worth talking about

  • We just need double bloodpoints base or to remove perk tiers. The current system was created around three killers and four survivors, not nineteen killers and twenty-one survivors. Now leveling everyone up without BBQ/WGLF takes an eternity.

  • Jumpscare Myers? Really? Unless you were using play with your food you can counter him by just running in a straight line.

  • To be fair it's really hard to find all the gens on maps like Lery's and Hawkin's, so it's a lot harder to avoid getting three genned on those maps

I haven't come across survivors that killed themselves on hook because of those add-ons.. I don't see how saying that Freddy's ultra rare add-ons are too good is a bad thing. I'd rather that than weak ultra rare add-ons like waterlogged shoe or iridescent coin.

Killers should imo have strong ultra rare add-ons otherwise what's the point of usimh them aside from a meme build?

There are ultra rare addons that are strong, they're just strong because they rework the way a killer is supposed to be played. Ultra rare addons that are just buffs aren't good, either because they're too strong to the point of being unfair or they're not strong enough for an ultra rare addon. Have you played with Amanda's Letter? It's a lot of fun, but it isn't op at all because instead of just buffing her it changes how she's meant to be played in a fun and engaging way.

Best killer without perks. Getting a head pop is the best feeling in the game. Not OP but not weak. I'd say if you can master her then she will be very good against a lot of teams.

Aren't ultra rare add-ons supposed to be powerful? 🤷‍♂️

No, they're supposed to completely change the way you play the killer or provide something more unique than a straight buff to the killer's abilities. Think Amanda's Letter, Judith's Tombstone, Mint Rag, Iridescent Stone, Waterlogged Shoe, Iridescent Button, Outdoor Security Camera, Matchbox, Torn Bookmark, Readhead's Pinky Finger, Iridescent Coin, Iridescent Seal, Renjiro's Bloody Glove. Ultra Rare addons that just give the killer a straight buff are no fun, like Mother Daughter Ring or Iridescent Head. Both of Freddy's addons are too good and most survivors just kill themselves on hook against them, especially the one that keeps your obsession asleep for the whole trial.

  • @BloodMoneyMerc said:

Why do people think Freddy needs changing? I think he is perfectly fine as is. If you understand him as a killer you know how to counter him, so I wouldn't even remotely say he is OP. I see some people complaining about his snares, which are basically the exact same as Clown's gas. Basically hating on Freddy's snares is like saying you hate playing against Clown, yet clown is deemed one of the worst killers.

The only thing I could say against Freddy is I feel like his lunge goes further than most killers, even though the devs claim his lunge is normal. But I think he was perfectly reworked & doesn't need tampering with.

Just because Clown is bad doesn't mean he's fun to play against. Just like facecamping, even if it's completely counterable that doesn't change the fact that countering it is really boring. Clown's power is annoying to play against and the only way to counter it is to throw down every pallet you come across while your teammates rush gens. No skill based gameplay to be seen

As someone who has schizophrenia I can honestly tell you that the wiki you shared is pathetic at best. I edited it a while ago to correct one of the worst mistakes, but saying he is more schizophrenic because he faked his catatonia to escape is hands down one of the worst and most offensive things I've heard about schizophrenia. Catatonia can be a symptom of schizophrenia.

If you've spent 10 minutes with someone who is psychotic, meaning experiencing psychosis not psychopathy, you would know that we tend to not be good at faking anything.

Pretty much the only symptoms they got right to even consider as a symptom of psychosis would be when he was hallucinating his mother in the second Rob Zombie remake.

Please research about this illness before you spread misinformation, and please please PLEASE don't use that horrendous wikipedia article as a resource. Psychosis is NOT psychopathy. Catatonia is a symptom of schizophrenia, but schizophrenia is not the only condition that causes catatonia.

I'm really sorry that I didn't research it thoroughly, I shouldn't use a Fandom article as a reliable source

Quote one line from the movies that implies Michael has schizophrenia.

The creator of Michael was directly inspired for Michael's character by a kid with schizophrenia he visited while in college. The symptoms Michael deals with on a daily basis are also symptoms of schizophrenia. The Fandom article on him does a better job explaining it than I do, so here you go.

Michael Myers is a virtual catalog of mental illness. This page is a list of them. Michael has a disorder called catatonia. Michael Myers is sometimes disabled from moving whenever he either sits or stands. This makes sense because it explains why Michael walks after his victims rather than runs. He exhibits stupor also which is an inherited disorder. Dr. Loomis asserts that Michael was faking his catatonia to draw them away from his plans of escape and murdering his family. This is quite...

    • Suiciding on hook. The game isn't fun for either side once someone's given up
    • RBT kills rob me of my points. I get 500 sacrifice points and 0 deviousness points for killing someone with my power? A normal hook sacfifice gives you 1000 points in the sacrifice category. RBT kills should give you 1000 deviousness points and 2000 sacrifice points so I can still get merciless killer after someone dies to an RBT. It's so stupid that the game punishes Pig for killing people with her power.

Oh well then definitely Michael Myers. Other movie killers usually had something awful happen to them like Candyman, Jason, Jigsaw, Bubba etc. Even Freddy had an abusive father when he was a kid. But Michael, from what we can tell he had a normal happy home. Then one Halloween night when he was 6 years old, he picked up a knife and murdered his older sister for no reason at all.

Ever since he's never wanted to put the knife down. As Dr. Loomis said he's purely and simply evil.

    @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1270771#Comment_1270771

Myers. Literally just born pure evil for seemingly no reason. Most other killers have backstories that make them at least somewhat sympathetic.

    Michael Myers is strongly implied to have a mental illness similar to schizophrenia and in my opinion is a cautionary tale of what happens if you treat a mentally ill person in the absolute worst way possible. To quote the Wikipedia article on Michael's character;

"Carpenter's inspiration for the 'evil' that Michael would embody came when he was in college. While on a class trip at a mental institution in Kentucky, Carpenter visited 'the most serious, mentally ill patients'. Among those patients was a young boy around 12 to 13 years old. The boy gave this 'schizophrenic stare', 'a real evil stare', which Carpenter found 'unsettling', 'creepy', and 'completely insane'. Carpenter's experience would inspire the characterization that Loomis would give of Michael to Sheriff Brackett in the original film. Debra Hill has stated the scene where Michael kills a German Shepherd was done to illustrate how he is 'really evil and deadly'."

Michael Myers was a little boy with extreme schizophrenia whose family did nothing to help him. A common symptom of schizophrenia is hearing voices, so it would probably be safe to say that Michael heard voices that told him to kill his sister. And being six years old, at an age where empathy or even an understanding of good and evil is absent, he killed his sister. Doctor Loomis didn't even consider the thought that he was mentally ill and labeled him as pure evil, even as a six year old. To quote Doctor Loomis; "I met this six-year-old child with this blank, pale, emotionless face, and the blackest eyes; the devil's eyes [...] I realized what was living behind that boy's eyes was purely and simply...evil." How did Loomis become a licensed psychiatrist with a degree when he doesn't even consider that a six year old boy killed his sister because he was mentally ill.

Michael had no help during his formative years while suffering from an extreme mental illness, so it's obvious that when he broke out he wouldn't know better to not listen to his voices and kill people. He didn't have any guidance. He wasn't taught the concept of morals or alignment or empathy due to Loomis's sheer incompetence. While it's undeniable that the actions he committed were pure evil, I see him as an extremely mentally ill man who wasn't given proper guidance as a child and as a result has no way of dealing with the voices except for listening to them and killing people. The real killer in Halloween wasn't Michael, it was Loomis, who treated Michael so poorly that Michael became a killing machine with no grasp of good and evil.

In conclusion, Loomis is a horrible psychiatrist and Michael killing people could have been prevented if he got a psychiatrist who knew what they were doing. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

  • Reassurance

Being in the presence of another survivor calms you down and helps you focus. After being healed by a teammate, as long as the person who healed you is not put into the dying state you gain a 3/4/5% haste status effect and a 3/4/5% action speed bonus.

    Don't Move a Muscle

When you are within 20/25/30 meters of the killer for at least 15/10/5 seconds without being in a chase, all sounds you make are reduced to 0%. Don't Move a Muscle deactivates when the killer moves out of range or when you initiate a chase

    It Found Me

Whenever you lose a health state, the killer's aura is shown to all survivors for 3/4/5 seconds and your scream can be heard across the whole map. Upon healing another survivor, the next time they lose a health state the killer's aura will be shown to you for 6/8/10 seconds.

  • @Lexilogo said:

The Entity seems to pick Killers and Survivors based on their aptitude for, well... It's in the name. All of the Survivors have some kind of inner strength that keeps them going, in Kate's case it appears to be a sense of responsibility to keep everyone else's spirits high. That resistance equals more hope which means those people represent more "food" for The Entity. Kate inspiring all the other Survivors with warm fuzzies might well be doing more harm than good, honestly.

As for why The Entity decided to influence Kate to play on her guitar, it was presumably the best way to nab her. In my head I've always imagined Kate's abduction being in broad daylight with her not being lost in the slightest, which is unusual conditions for The Entity to grab someone (usually at the dead of night when they're lost in fog/forest) so it makes sense that it might rely on an aid like a magical melody in this instance.

Kate was abducted while alone in the woods, though it was in broad daylight.

  • The plague has two really meta perks, corrupt intervention is a must on any killer without great mobility

  • Your microsleep timer doesn't go down in a chase. If Freddy wants to use his bs on me he needs to be good enough at the game to get a hit on me without it, not chasing me until I fall asleep then spam snares. Also sort of a nerf to Freddy but borrowed time should activate if the person on the hook hears a heartbeat and not the person unhooking. And rework his ultra rare addons, they're pretty broken and shouldn't be so powerful. Maybe give him a meme bp addon to turn him into old Freddy? Other than that, he's fine.

  • A few things about spirit, from a spirit main:

    1. The spirit is hard countered by Spine Chill and Iron Will. Both perks are also great against killers other than Spirit, so it's not like I'm telling you to put on a niche perk in the rare case you get a certain killer (like Calm Spirit for Doctor or Object for Freddy.)
    2. Don't forget about footstep noises. When she is in phase walk the Spirit makes footstep noises, you can use that to counter her and if you're running Iron Will they're a lot easier to hear. This also applies to you. As a spirit main, I have come across too many players who think they're invincible because they're running Iron Will and keep running. Footstep noises are more consistent and more precise than moaning noises, so if you're running Iron Will don't run around and think you're invincible.
    3. Spine Chill is good during pallet standoffs, if you go to where the husk shouldn't activate Spine Chill and it stays on you know for sure that she's phasing.
    4. Don't be stupid and do a generator in her terror radius. It doesn't matter if it looks like she's chasing someone else, she can turn right around and grab you. Unless you have clear line of sight of her and she isn't standing still, don't do it.
    5. Always heal, except for in a few situations. People have complained about Spirit being too strong when they didn't heal for the whole round. Even if you have Iron Will, it's better to heal.
    6. Don't stop trying just because she's strong. I see to many players just run around in a circle or sit there and heal while I'm faking my phase walk which is just stupid. Just standing there is better than doing that, don't be stupid and just try your best. Lots of killers are tough and I know how scary Spirit can be, sometimes I feel bad because I know that it wasn't fun for the survivors.

And finally, I do agree that Stridor on Spirit is broken and needs to be changed. I barely use it because it feels so cheap on her.
