The Rift could probably be only 50 tiers if they just removed all the useless charms that no one wants from it, or stacked them with other rewards.
-
My Huntress is like my Nurse. Half of the time, I'm a god and I hit all my shots. The other half of the time I'm a potato that hears the awful shlorp noise on the swamp more than I hear the survivor's injured screams. I wish killers like Huntress, Nurse or Spirit had seperate ranks from the rest of my killers. I'm also scared for my survivor challenges once the "4k with the Huntress" challenge comes out and every other killer I get will be an iridescent head + infantry belt + ebony mori.
-
Or the survivors could learn to not camp pallets and actually loop the killer, maybe then we wouldn't need pallet respawns.

How do those aspects make it OP? I don't think they can make up for only having 17% of the distance gained.
You still haven't answered my killer rank question. Play any M1 killer at red ranks and then you'll understand why dead hard is so op.

I understand that 1 meter is 1/6th of the distance other exhaustion perks can buy you, and is 1/12th of the distance Head On can buy you. These perks also have less counters. If you hate DH, you have to hate them too.
You can use Dead Hard whenever you want. For the other ones you have to have a drop, a window, a locker, or to walk everywhere, but Dead Hard can be used anytime and anywhere, especially at loops and don't forget it makes you invincible. You didn't answer my killer rank question by the way.

I play killer, and I play against survivors who use Dead Hard. They can't use it while vaulting or dropping a pallet, and if you get close enough you can lunge into their DH and hit them through it. Even if they manage to get it to proc, it's like 1 meter of distance which will rarely make a difference. I don't see it as a problem as killer because it has a lot of counters and isn't even that punishing if I straight up ignore it. Head On, on the other hand...
What rank are you? You don't seem to understand how much of a difference 1 meter of distance can make.

Just break the wall right next to the window and now it's just an incredibly unsafe window

It's not a free health state. If it was, it'd have a speed boost.
It's free distance. Once they get to the safe pallet/window then they'll have enough distance to keep chasing safely. Plus if the killer whiffs you get even more distance. Do you even play killer?

What's wrong with covering up a mistake? It costs their exhaustion and if used like that they aren't put into an advantaged state. Sprint Burst can do the exact same thing AND put the survivor in an advantaged position.
It's the equivalent of a third health state for the survivors, which makes the chase so much longer if the survivor player is good and robs the killer of the down they deserve. If you mess up in a chase, then you have to deal with the consequences. It's like NOED for survivors, you have a get out of jail free card that takes no skill and that you didn't earn at all.

Undoing mistakes? Would Dead Hard not feel unfair if survivors never made mistakes?
If survivors never made mistakes? If survivors never made mistakes I probably wouldn't even injure them since I main the Pig. Dead Hard is just a get out of jail free card for when you mess up and it's just stupid. You don't have enough distance to make the vault because you were greedy? Dead Hard. The killer did a really good moonwalk and caught you in a position where you'll go down? Dead Hard. Everyone makes mistakes, so I don't understand the point of your question.

The Devs have no clue how to use Min's name, so I'll clear it up for you.
Her real first name is Min. They got it right with her Adept achievement, but that was the last time they did. After that, they started going to Feng instead.
I actually asked one of my friends how to pronounce her name (he's from Taiwan, where they speak a dialect of Chinese, but it's still Chinese). The way he wrote it down for me was "Foong Min"
In the trailer for Cursed Legacy, Yui's name was, in fact, written as "Kimura Yui".
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/223/C0UAL2F5AMJK.png
They just changed it in game for... reasons that I can't explain because I have no clue.
I guess it's just easier to say Japanese names either way than it is for Chinese names (Min Feng just doesn't roll of the same way as Feng Min).
Thanks for clarifying, hopefully the devs read this so that they can be more consistent with her name and stop confusing people.
-
Pig gets ZERO deviousness points for an RBT kill and only 500 sacrifice points, while moris and hooks give you 1000. She at least needs more points for that since otherwise it's impossible to fill up the sacrifice category unless you get lots of hooks during the EGC.
-
I'd love seeing Cindy and Brenda in a DLC package, as dumb as they'd be. They could have perks based off of stupid things people do in horror movies, which would also be a lot of fun.
-
The spirit is fun once you get good with her if you're fine with feeling like an a**hole every time you play her.
-
Just remove the stupid long fences on that map and Badham. I hate having to walk all the way around the longest fence ever just to get a hook or get to a survivor. And god forbid someone loops around those, those could almost count as infinites due to how much time they waste.

Part of the whole "Just do bones" joke is that it's not hard to find them. Ifyou're complaining about having to do them you just prove yourself to be lazy. If they were properly hidden and required looking instead of just spawning with one in your sight half the time the whole "Just fdo bones" thing would disappear.
Also against certain top tier killers if you waste your time finding and doing totems then you won't even get to the endgame, it's a catch-22.
-
Stealth is fine, but chasing is the part of the game where skill really matters, so I like getting chased and running things like OoO and bright outfits just to get killers to chase me. Also OoO is an excellent counter to Freddy, who I really hate going against.

Totem counter, as in how many totems are left.
That's a horrible idea, then NOED would be useless. The only way that could be viable is if it were tied to a perk. Maybe Small Game? That would probably be fine, seeing as small game is meant to get totems anyway.
-
@Mat_Sella said:
But...you can hear the totem as you pass by. it's actually not even that good of a location. I guess most people just have horrible audio setups
Yeah, people underestimate sound for survivors. Totems crackling, stealth killers' breathing, Pig's little "shink" of her knife when she stands up, spirit's footsteps while she's phasing, etc. are all really good information to have while playing.
-
@arslaN said:
Making totem spots better also buffs NOED so nope. Unless the devs actually give survivors a totem counter or something, I don't think totems should be too well hidden.
- Detective's Hunch
- Inner Strength (sort of)
- Small Game
- Resilience (also sort of)
- Doing any totem you see
Boom, totem counters. You're welcome.
-
I just think Devour Hope and other totems that don't do anything at the start of the match should either show up as dull totems or be completely invisible until they do something. Ruin doesn't show up until it regresses at least 1 gen, devour hope/huntress's lullaby is invisible until you get a stack, etc. Nothing is worse than not getting to use your perk because it got destroyed at the beginning of the match.
-
For avoiding a basic attack? It's fine. For making distance and undoing mistakes at loops? It's overpowered. I have lost entire games because of dead hard being used like that. I was about to down someone at the exit gate two separate times in the same match and they just dead hard to safety.

You hated hatch standoffs? Now get ready for exit gate standoffs!

I haven't seen the cinematic myself, I prefer not to spoil them and I'd rather earn them the traditional way, but I wanted to point out that being stabbed in the Jaw isn't typically a killing blow...
It could be that was something that happened beforehand and after she stabbed him in the jaw in self defense and then Frank stabbed him in the back and everything else played out as described in the bio for the Legion. Just thinking is all
She stabbed him in his throat in the cinematic, or up into his head from underneath his chin.

I agree with that. Plus, she is so tall that may see survivors as kids.
I just had an idea for a perk.
Mama Bear
You protect your children from anything or anyone that could hurt them. During the trial, you become obsessed with one survivor. Whenever your obsession performs cooperative actions with another survivor, the survivor they were performing cooperative actions with is exposed for 20/25/30 seconds. Only one survivor can be exposed from Mama Bear at a time. If you down the survivor who was exposed, Mama Bear's cooldown resets. Once your obsession dies, you become incredibly distraught by their demise and gain a 5% haste status effect for 40/45/50 seconds. Mama Bear does not reactivate in the instance that a new obsession is created.

This post right here, chief. ^^^^
If the Spirit was half as strong as she is being talked up to be, she would merk every survivor within the opening seconds of a trial. The Entity is like a kid with a tub of Legos and a deep understanding of what's OP and what isn't (foreign concept for most people, let alone a kid). It makes or pulls in killers based upon their lives or their emotions and sorta just makes em look like something to either convey the image of power (Spirit) or to piss em off tenfold (Oni). Freddy was nerfed to hell by the Entity on purpose because he's almost godtier, people really think the Entity would let the Spirit have the true power of an Onryo and let her raze cities? Pfffftttttttt.
The whole discussion was about who was the strongest killer without the entity's restrictions. And even if she was restricted by the entity she'd still be pretty much unbeatable, razing cities aside. She can flicker in and out of existence at will and teleport anywhere she wants in game, which is pretty much impossible to win a fight against unless you have the ability to stop time or something

(Number of living Survivors) + 1 = Gens that need to be done for the hatch to spawn.
So 4 Gens need to be done if 3 Survivors are remaining.
Thanks for clarifying, I'm never sure. So yeah, one gen left and they all escaped through the hatch.

As the others have said, Huntress is someone used to killing things that fight back. Like, really, REALLY dangerous things that fight back.
She most likely hums the lullaby because these trials are less a focused hunt and more of an idle jog with the occasional violence.
-
That said, it is worth noting that Beast of Prey's description indicates she can literally force the Entity to stop looking through her eyes (hence the Red Stain removal in old versions and now Undetectable status in new versions) and the Entity doesn't seem to take much issue with it.
Theoretically it might be possible that she, or other similarly strong willed Killers, would low-key try to help Survivors without the Entity's knowledge, but that doesn't seem very likely to me that Huntress specifically would do that.
This is the person that would go on murder rampages and slaughter entire towns, presumably just for sport or because she could. She's killed so many people that people thought she was some kind of inhuman monster. That doesn't indicate the kind of empathy one would expect from someone risking their personal safety to give the other side an advantage.
-
Still, as far as lore, Huntress is old enough that her lore doesn't set in stone much about her thought processes.
It could be possible she's rebelling against the Entity in a very subtle way? So she doesn't end up like Trapper, but also so that she's not just some mindless toy for the Spider God? Not helping Survivors to help the Survivors, but as a way to silently give the finger to the Entity and quietly keep up her self-esteem? It is worth noting that Benedict's character quote for her suggests she's more human and that she has more of a purpose or goal than the other Killers.
-
TL;DR
I personally don't think Huntress is trying to help the Survivors, but there's as much canon material to support the theory as there is to discount it.
Honestly I could see the Huntress trying to adopt Min or Dwight in the right circumstances, or maybe Quentin assuming he looks like how he looked in the movies and not his in-game character model. Benedict Baker makes it clear that she's still looking for children to adopt while in the entity's realm. Maybe that's the real reason the Entity doesn't introduce children as survivors.

Ummm your story has a loop hole. You say you killed 1 survivor and 3 escaped with only 2 gens left. That's impossible. They wouldn't have been able to leave with 2 gens left. They would've have to do another gen before leaving through hatch.
It might have been 1 gen left, I don't remember all that well. And I'm pretty sure the hatch spawns at two gens with three people left.

So what are you saying? The chased survivor should get pinned down by the entity after being chased for 2 minutes? Chases are a battle, survivors must fight for their lives every trial and you wanna make chases unfun? At this point take away the exit gates and hatch cause the survivors shouldn't win right? Survivors should be allowed to win chases, the meta has changed it's not hide and seek anymore. Plus with future map changes chases will be more bearable for killers and removal of bloodlust will make chases a 50/50 win opportunity for both sides.
Ok, I'm going to change what I said and say that a survivor should never win a chase against a good killer. It just so happens that there are some pretty unbeatable areas for even the best killers.
-
The other day I had a SWF with a key who all escaped through the hatch with a key except for the one I killed. Afterwards they called me trash even though they were all pretty awful at looping and they were all dead on hook with two gens left when they escaped. Keys are stupid.

@KingFrost said:
Her add-ons need some serious reworking. A lot of them benefit the survivor, and others do very little. Her dash attack could be improved. Crouch speed should be higher. And she should get more points for RBT related things. The RNG screws you over way too often, too. Somehow survivors often get their traps off at the first box pretty often. That doesn't work well for a slowdown mechanic. She's definitely my favorite to play, though.
Which addons help the survivors? The only one I can think of is the green sketch addon but that addon is still really good for stalling.
-
Her ambush is too niche and just standing up and hitting them is better every way. She doesn't get enough points for things related to RBTs and her stealth attacks (she needs a scoring event for hitting someone right after standing up) and that makes her harder to get points with and rank up with. Her Video Tape addon is practically required for using her ambush attack. Her slowdown addons, from best to worst, are the sketch addons that create an extra jigsaw box, the gear addons that make box searches take longer and then the tampered timer which shortens the RBT death timer. I wish her rule set #2 and video tape addons were basekit. The reason she moves slow while crouched unlike Ghostface or Myers is because she also has the RBTs to slow down the game while the other two don't have anything else.

When I typed my rant on Jane, I was only on part four of her Archive, before she got the job. After completing it, my opinion has shifted a bit (I mean, it's still my least favorite Archive, but not to the degree it was at). I like how it connected to her being the host of Quick Talk at the end. I feel Dwayne's political commentary on minority films was actually pretty well done. And I like how Jane didn't sell out at the end. Those things saved it from being a complete dumpster fire.
But there are things that still irritate me. If she was a halfway decent actress, she shouldn't have the trouble she does getting a non-stereotypical role. This tells me one of two things: either she's not a good actress and doesn't want to admit it OR she has an atrocious agent that needs to be fired immediately (I want to say it's the latter). The director's actions were also straight up infuriating. It's the day before opening night, and NOW you decide to turn a major character into comic relief with an accent (which isn't even close to comedy, by the way, given it's how people actually talk)? What drugs did he take that made this look like a good idea?
Those points make me stand by my original statement of Jane being my least favorite lorewise, but not to the degree that she was before. Not even close.
The point of only getting minority roles was that she kept getting typecasted into stereotypical minority roles. I very much doubt that Jane Romero is a bad actor seeing how famous she is, so I think your theory about the agent sucking is probably true. And yes, the director did think it would be a good idea to give Jane an accent before opening night, since he actually did that. He probably thought that it was just a small change to improve the play's overall quality, not nonchalantly mocking an entire race of people. People think like that. Other than those two things, I don't really know why you disliked Jane's tome.

@Aven_Fallen said:
This would indeed make sense, because the best thing a Survivor can do is going for long chases. However, there is some Flaw in it - first of all, if the Rank 20 Meghead camps every Pallet on the Map, she will have the best Evader-Emblem, because she prolonged the chase as much as possible. However, the other Survivors will not have the chance to get a good Emblem, because they dont have anything to work with. Meanwhile, they are stick to Generators (because what else to do?), which dont give them a good Emblem Progress.
On this note, this would also be bad. Because people who are efficient and do Generators are also important for a Survivor Team. The game will not be won by 4 people running around the Killer doing nothing productive. Personally, I think someone can be bad at chases, as long as they are doing something useful.
Last but not least, an Emblem System which favors Evader over other Emblems would lead to the high Rank players being good Loopers. I highly doubt that Killers would like that, in theory this would mean that everyone on Rank 1 would be really good at Looping, which makes it harder for Killers, because it will be more difficult to find a weak link.
I mean the point of high ranks is to be good at the game, and since looping and chases are the most skillful thing you can do as a survivor it would make sense that the best are at high ranks. Maybe then killer could be balanced better without the inconsistent quality of games at high ranks. I also think that there should be no way for a single survivor to run a good killer around for the whole game, so if the killer isn't bad everyone should get chased at some point.

Favorite - Probably Adam.
Great Person - Again, Adam. If the Entity didn't take him, he would have given his life to save that girl, even when he JUST got his life figured out.
Best Backstory - Kate, by a fairly large margin. Although, if we exclude the Archives, I would say Jane.
Meet - Min (NOT FENG PEOPLE). We have pretty similar personalities (lone wolf gamers). In addition, I know three people that could help me speak to her in her native language (and vice versa).
Dislike Personality - David King and Steve. Jocks and I do not tend to get along.
Dislike Lore - I know I said that if it wasn't for the Archives, I would say Jane was one of the best. However, her Archive (or at least where I am) is a massive social justice fever dream that leaves a horrible taste behind. I gave Yui a pass because 1. It was BHVR's first foray into it and 2. Yui actually still feels human. And I'm noticing something. Jane was a famous celebrity. People played a lot of Jane. Yui is a celebrity. Zarina is somewhat of a celebrity. Yui delved into social justice and political commentary. People played a lot of Yui. Zarina and Jane are now delving into political commentary and, in Jane's case, social justice. BHVR, this is NOT why people play these characters. They play Yui because she's kind of cute (IMO). They play Jane because... do I even NEED to say why? All of these correlate to why I dislike Jane the most lorewise (not saying she has the worst lore, since that honor goes to Meg, Nancy, Laurie and Steve, but I dislike hers the most).
Everyone's thirsting over David so much that they forget how much of a butthole he is. And I think that discussing social justice issues suits Jane. She's a female minority with her own TV show who likes to discuss controversial topics, she's bound to talk about social justice. And after reading her tome, I don't think it was actually executed all that bad. Most of what happens in it are things that have happened and will happen in real life. I can understand how frustrated she felt when the play director asked her to perpetuate a stereotype, something that she had tried so hard to avoid doing in the past to the point of turning down career opportunities even though acting was her lifelong dream. People go through this sort of thing all the time, and it's reassuring to see popular characters go through the same things that they go through.

Everyone is saying how Spirit is the most powerful. I disagree. All killers can dream except Demogorgon, so Freddy can easily manipulate them into potentially killing themselves.
In terms of sheer willpower? Michael Myers and Spirit are the most powerful. The entity cannot fully control either of them, so if there ever is, a "final chapter" of DBD, I believe the catalysts for the end would be Myers and Rin.
Technically dead people/ghosts don't dream, so if Spirit can't enter the dream world and Freddy can't enter the real world they'd probably just obliviously coexist and kill whoever enters either area. Though I'd imagine Freddy might catch on to her existence at some point and continuously try and fail to get rid of her.

rin and the spirit wasnt formed by emotions, she was formed by the entity who saw her emotions and made her undead and gave powers with limitations, basically like oni but instead of pure "rage" its more emotional. entity gave her all the flying limbs and hair and everything. entity gave oni oni like powers and an oni undead look (imo he looks like a mix of oni and ogre). in the trailer for cursed legacy, you see oni standing like a ######### absolute giant in comparison to yui, while in game he is the standard tall killer height (because indoor doors). he isnt just a "human", he was once like rin, but now he is an basically an oni who can start glowing red and scream across the entire map, move at insane billy like speeds and 1 shot. kazan was called oni, kazan hated it, and then basically turned into an oni
You know the thing spirit does where she flickers in and out of existence while running? That's probably what happens whenever you try to attack her. Onryo can't be damaged physically since they're already dead, but they can still feel pain which is probably why she's so loud when stunned by a pallet. She can teleport, so good luck grabbing her when she can just flicker out of your arms and appear right behind you with her wakizashi drawn. And I don't know what emotions you think the spirit is motivated by because the main emotion for onryo is always rage. The spirit is pure, uncontrollable rage that can teleport right on top of you and can't be physically harmed. I don't think that the entity created everything about her, I just think it harnessed her incredible rage and tied her powers to it. And if you look at typical onryo abilities, technically the spirit has the power to raze whole cities.
