I have changed my position a bit. It's absolutely ridiculous. Im annoyed how Killers are just stacking slowdown perks and camp and tunnel still. Why???
And survivors barely get any compensation for it.
Something needs to change
Cause this community has always been toxic and the devs have promoted this mentality for years.
"Camping/Tunneling is a strategy, nothing wrong about it, it is an intended mechanic"
Those behaviors should be perma HWID banned when abused games after games after games.
Devs have given extra time for the killers to balance the game around more chases/hooks but killer mains have chosen to use this extra time to camp and tunnel without being punished.
It is time to uninstall, stop to post here, uninstall and move on.

Hey.
So recently I played like 6 matches as a killer (3 nurse, 2 hag and 1 sadako)... And from each of this match, I've had people DC, afk (giving up) after 3 gen pops. I suppouse soloq only. And I swear, it's getting so ridiculous.
In some of this matches, they were ragequitting and afking even when I was actually losing, and I'm not kidding.
It was a match with hag, the match for me was awful, maybe the worst possible scenario (who playing hag, knows...) the only thing why I won this match, it's coz 1 guy just DC'd after I (somehow) downed him.
What is happening with survivors? What is the point of even getting into the match, if you know you're going to dc or ######### on hook?
Are they hoping to get a "baby killer" to go against? Are they protesting the changes that way? If so, I don't think it's a smart way.
I also looked up some Youtube vids to see how some survivors playing soloq, and they're mad. Don't get me wrong, they're mad on their teammates, ruining the game, killing themselves on hooks and denying to play.
I looked up more, and I've seen more people just ragequitting in a 100% winnable match. The killer 100% will lose this match, and they still DC or K themselves on hooks...
Dear survivors, what is going on? What are you exactly want to achieve like this?
The game is dying.
Killer's base kit has been buffed way too much and the new regression META is the most toxic thing we have experienced in DbD so far.
Moreover, killers are camping and tunneling way more than prior to the patch while the new META give them more times to cahse and have funny interactions with the survivors, no most killer players are using this extra time to camp and tunnel without being punished at all.
This game is totally garbage. All my friends, some are the most dedicated players i have met (all survs/killers P3; playing 20h to 30h a week etc...), all have stopped to play since the patch.
It is over guys, farewell DbD.

Well, they did something. Players keeping coming with the monster issues on the discord were banned for some made-up reason like a "ism" or something.
I was a witness of one of these. It was unbelievable. I've left the discord server myself immediately after giving a piece of my mind to the moderator.
So yeah, months later monster is still awfully tiring and annoying. Having to hunt 4 players before then ambush you requires too much energy.
Really they muzzled ppl that were giving negative feedbacks ? Well the game failing is well deserved then.

Yeah, that's not even close to what is happening here.
Balance is so out of whack that a killer doesn't even have to perform well, and can still win.
Cause survivors needed to perform well to win the game prior to the patch ?
Come on, survivors required 0 skill to win a game. That is why most of you here are complaining, you were total potatoes that did not even know how to properly loop, you were carried by DH and gen rush and now that you actually need more skill, you cannot perform at all.
Hilarious.

is it officially out?
It is out but the monster side is really boring to play.
You can try it but teens queue times take forever and monster gameplay is stale.
Have played during the BETA, have sent feedbacks to the devs, they haven't done anything. The community is quite upset now, game will die before the full release.
-
Anyway guys you are talking about the future of the game. I won't debate on the need to add different characters etc...
Let's talk seriously, do you really think DbD will survive the next update ? Have you seen the state of the game ? It is awfull, the fun was already hard to find nowadays but after the update it will be over for good.
Most of us won't play anymore. Personally, today i cannot play more than 3 or 4 games straight as the game design is trash, the net code is the worst in the video game history (by a large margin) and the community is even worst (tunnel, camp, taunting etc.. well you know it).
The toxicity will rise to another level with the next update...

It's distance that you can only use when the killer is right on top of you, not at any time completely for free- consider that the 4.4 meters or whatever that you get from the current Dead Hard also pushes you further away from the killer than you'd get by running normally, because it's done much faster. It's also less impactful distance since it doesn't stop powers, doesn't stop grabs, and doesn't let you reposition through the killer.
How much of a nerf this is will depend on stuff we simply don't know right now- like, are you animation locked and prevented from interacting with chase objects while DH is active? If so, it's a pretty huge nerf, and if not then the perk's still going to be very useful for preventing a hit that would otherwise land.
... But Dead Hard right now does way more than just that, so it is still a nerf.
The current DH version just gives you a 2 or 3 meters dodge + immunity during this dodge.
The new one will grant you 4 meters of invulnerability, it is more than what we have now. And you can use it when the killer is about to reach you.
You do not need to have the dodge for it to be strong, you need the immunity. Immunity on a longer distance than what we have now = Buff.
You will see guys, the new DH will be unbearable.

@Mr_K said:

1s of invulnerability is 4 meters.
Did not do the maths but now it is clear.
That 1 second of invulnerability is stronger than the current DH dodge forward.
So it means that the new DH version is a HUGE buff cause you will get 4 meters of invulnerability, enough to reach a pallet/window, and if the killer hits you it will grant the survivor an additional speedboost that will allow him/her to draw a 14 meters distance from the killer.

Happy to disagree with you, especially since we haven't seen it in action yet
Ppl using DH in reaction almost never fail.
The new DH will be the same. When getting the hit, endurance will the ntrigger, granting the survivor with a normal after hit speed boost, it is way stronger than the current DH.
There is nothing to agree with, just read how the new DH works, if you time it successfully, it is way stronger than the old one.

A speedboost when you get hit or when you press E to use it? Baiting will still be the same as before given you will see an animation of them using it, only this time they won't dash forward doing so. So i would say thats a nerf, but lets just wait for the ptb to actually try it
When you get hit. Baiting works against bad players only.
Good surv use DH on reaction = better than the actual DH for them
It is a nerf for low skilled player, a buff for good survivors.

Sadly this is not true (anymore). We know how the stats always show that the average killrate is above 50% for every killer (apart from nurse if I remember correct sitting at 49.x%).
They stated in last update that they feel the survivors escape rate is not as low as they want it to be, and want to make killers feel more of a danger. They don't understand how important the 2k balance is and seem to go for 3k average now. People are always doomthinking that the game will die with each update, but if this 1 update goes through I'm actually sure the drop of survivors will be HUGE.
I can already imagine legion games, we all know how long and tedious these rounds are. No more dead hard to sometimes put him out of his power, 10 extra sec on each gen, buffed thana... Bruh...
- those stats now show all MMR mixed together, irrelevant
- getting a kill rate of 50% while 80% of the killers are camping is as well what i call biased stats
- remember the streamers official tournament where the killer did not have the right to camp to hide to the viewers how bad the state of the game is today, funny when in reality almost every game is against a camper

After seeing the perks and gameplay changes I found myself thinking the changes were more of a nerf to killers than buffs, which initially i had no issue with, just behaviour adding more spice to the gameplay, shaking up the meta. However upon rereading the patch and realizing the devs made the changes in an attempt to rise the kill rates as well as the general consensus of the community that solo queue is dead, and that survivor meta got nerfed,I can’t help but voice my disagreement.
I would also like to mention my comments are towards a higher level of play, mostly towards whats meta on both sides, not the casual, messing around as that’s just good fun and these changes wont affect that side of the game that much.
First of all lets look at the buffs the killers received:
1.A small increase to kick speed(pallets and gens),shorter weapon clean animation and a smaller speed boost to survivors. All the changes are cute, but they will mostly help m1 killers,as the buffs are only noticeable when you add all of them up.I don’t think it will impact killers that use their power to down that much, esspecialy the meta ones.
I don’t want to go in detail about how little the buff will impact meta killers(the ones who rely on using their power for down),but I do want to mention that it will impact the strongest killers the least(blight and nurse) as they have to wait for their tokens/charges,their fatigue is different than the normal hit cooldown and nurse doesn’t have to break pallets while blight pallet breaking speed wont be increased in a rush(correct me if I'm wrong).
2.10 extra seconds required to complete a generator as well as a 2.5 regression bonus if you kick a generator.I think the 10 seconds is a decent buff, but the kick is useless,I find it hard to find value in kicking generators as you lose pressure while doing so.
These changes would have been big if it weren’t for the fact that all the strong slow down perks also got nerfed to compensate.Imo this will make games faster,as now having 3 gens done by the time you finish the first chase is possible do to corrupt nerfs, you wont have ruin to amplify your pressure, pop to keep a solid 3 gen,or pain res + dms. These perks would have increased the game longer than 10 seconds per gen,as the time it takes to finish the first few gens is irrelevant, good teams will easily complete a few and then you would have to keep a small few from popping with your perks.
All of this would have been an interesting thing to shake up the gameplay of the game however the survivor meta perks actually got buffed instead of getting nerfed as you would expect to mirror the killer perks. While I can empathize that perks such as iw and spine chill got ruined , they aren’t really meta perks, sure strong ones and comfortable to use but not on the same level as dh,ds,coh, prove etc the ones that actually matter got buffed.
Sure Ds got nerfed, but they introduced off the record, which is a million times stronger, not only did they add basekit bt(adding an extra perk slot) but the perk lasts longer if you chose to run it(essentially another buff to one of the stronger perks in the game),which now can be used more effectively to tank hits for your team. The change dead hard received also isn’t necessarily a nerf depending on how it works, and even in the worst situation possible (it locks you in an animation),you can still use it to counter the strongest killers as they have telegraphed attacks.
I cant see how this will help killers at higher mmr, survivors got their strong perks buffed while their comfort ones nerfed for whatever reason ,meanwhile killer meta perks got gutted effectively making gens take less time to complete.
It won't help killers at all but the community here disagree.
They will once again see they are wrong later, when the patch will be live.
It was the same for CoH, everyone here said it was not good enough to be META, that we won't see it blabla. Well COH has been pretty much in every game i have played since release.

I would say that DbD has some issues. But we see BHVR work on them and addressing them. They have been ignoring the community for a bit, but they bettered themselves and started really doing some great changes. And im excited for the Future of the Game.
Making Killers stronger and weakening Survivors was the first step in the right direction. They can gather some Data and listen to what the community has to say, and will change things accordingly.
Next on the list should be a Buff to SoloQ without Buffing SWF and in just 1 or 2 Years we might have a Game that is stable and fun and will still be around even if there is Competition.
DBD has been in a Bad State, but its getting better almost every Update. And it has the Potential to be such a fun Game. My best Gaming Memories come from this Game. And i want to keep getting nice Memories.
(sorry for any Grammar Mistakes. English isnt my first Language)
Erm, i do not want to sound negative but :
They have been ignoring the community for a bit : 6 years...
BHVR does not address anything, they are changing META perks but they do not fix the core gameplay, the game balance is broken at its core, not around the perks even though those perks needed a change for sure.
Personnaly, i have been playing DBD for 5 years and well, i have completely lost faith in BHVR being able to fix the game for it to be enjoyable without the toxicity it brings atm.

Apparently there is no way to not be a trash killer. You’re either trash if you camp/tunnel if you get kills, or you’re trash if you play the “fun” way and spend the whole match chasing a survivor while all the gens get done and then you get t-bagged at the exit gate and flamed in post-game chat
Exactly :D
More seriously you are right saying this. Killers are so underpowered and the game design is so broken that it is either you camp to get some kills, either you accept to be totally outplayed.
Playing a game when you know you are powerless unless you wait by a hook, wth guys ? 😂

Going back to Evil Dead.
Same, i have moved on VHS and ED and well, i have tried to come back to DbD but it is impossible after playing those games. I will maybe try the next update but even with the current event, that is great with the masks etc... i cannot play DbD, being camped over and over and over again, no way.

idk Guys, Even with these Buffs I don't see me Playing as Clown would get more Kills in Garden of Joy or The Game. You can take these Buffs back if BHVR actually addresses map balance. Garden of Joy still has 3 God Windows and a God Pallet while every Pallet on the Game is a Safe Pallet and etc.
High MMR Escape will stay the same imo. All these changes did is made Solo queue Survivors weaker while SWF power of Friendship is being buffed.
Globally perks have been band aids for years not. The game has always had a broken design.
Hooks can be camped, tunneling is super effective (the most effective "strategy"...), loops are too numerous and strong.
And well instead of working on the core gameplay mechanics to improve the game :
- remove the camp totally
- remove the tunneling
- tweaks the map design for less loops forcing the survivor to actually use mindgame
Nope the devs have decided to change the band aids... by other band aids. It does not adress anything, it will just shifts the META, the game balance will remain quite the same.
4 great survivors with no perks will still wipe out a great killer with no perk. Starting from there, the game is broken at its core, you cannot count on perks to balance a broken game, especially when there are hundreds of perks....

Not bad but in a way it is not fun for both sides. A killer cannot have fun waiting 80% of the game next to a hook... And yes it is unhealthy for the game.

Quite satisfying to see that they confirmed what Killers were saying: gens are too fast.
Now gens take 90 seconds instead of 80.
Gen rush was a thing, and they were aware of it which is nice specially against those "apply pressure" claims.
Can't wait to play the new meta.
The needed change was to tweak the maps' layout and the number of loops.
But no, they have added 10 seconds to do a gen... Even if it works, it will be boring for the survivor. Imagine doing 3 gens = 3x90 = 270 seconds using m1 next to a gen. 4min30 out of a 10 minutes game...........

But it seems like there's no acknowledgment for solo que at all. So self-care having a high pick-rate justified it being gutted, stomped, and thrown to the dumpster? Oh okay sure.
Killers getting general improvements, but nothing to help solo's? The mini base-kit BT will do VERY little if not nothing in a solo group.
When can we expect to have changes that are suppose to bridge the gap between solo's and swf's? This gap is responsible for the balance too.
There will be a ton of COH users, do not worry about it.

Yes but i would avoid pre-build pc if you cannot know the component manufacturer.
Generic Motherboad and GPU usually are of bad quality.
Either buy component parts and build it yourself or buy component parts on a website that provide a build service.
It is really not hard to build a pc and you can check many youtube videos to learn it in case you have some doubts.

@tester said:
Just to clarify, I'm not saying they are perfect. Some values can be adjusted, but they already said that they will be looking at stats and doing adjustments. The game has grown stale and desperately needed shakeup. I commend BHVR on having the courage to try something new.
On the killer side, I'm happy that DH is changing.
On survivor side, I'm happy that camping and tunneling was addressed.
Yes, I get it, some perks were made essentially useless. Ruin is an example. But that perk was unhealthy for solo queue. Survivors who don't have comms can't efficiently coordinate looking for the totem. I can keep going on with example, but I don't want to make a wall of text.
We cannot know for now and have to try it. I doubt the game will feel balanced and most killers will still be not viable for high level.
Fact is DbD needs core balance and not band aid balance. Changing the perks does not change the fact that there are too many safe loops with pallets/windows.
Maybe the Bloodlust change will shift everything but i highly doubt it, survivors will adapt and be less greedy to survive longer.

- It won’t be “way more effective” in most cases, it will be “as effective”. If the survivor uses it to get to a pallet drop for instance they lose the speed boost after the drop so it would be identical in that scenario.
- 10 seconds is a significant difference, and the nerfs to the regression perks aren’t that bad in a lot of cases. In particular it’ll be a boost to any loadout that had one or no gen slowdown perks in it.
- COH is in about 12% of matches at the highest MMR brackets according to the dev chart of use by MMR bracket. That translates to one person using it every other match.
- Everybody having a weakened Borrow Time won’t change how I play in unhook situations. Like, at all.
- You’re underestimating how often you get in situations where 1 or 2 meters makes a difference.
- a competent survivor never uses the speedboost to stop 3 meters away at a pallet. The surv will run as long as possible with the boost and then reach a pallet
- we will see but i highly doubt it
- CoH has been in all my games as killer and survivor and yes i was playing at high MMR as i was winning most of my games as survivor
- BT base kit = 1 more free slot, the way you particularly play does not change how it is, DbD balance is not determined by how Dugman plays DbD...
- you are overestimating it cause survivors are not AI bots, they will adapt the way they play and you will end up having the exact same 1 meter too far away to get the hit

The average kill rates (how many Survivors are killed each trial, on average) are a little lower than we’d like – a sentiment echoed by many community members.
Since Killer kill-rates are hovering around a ~55% (depending on the killer), according to BHVRs data. This statement indicates that Killer kill-rates are going to be increased, so it's less likely that survivors will escape.
Survivors currently lose ~55% of the time, what will be the increased survivor loss rate percentage after the update?
They have released global stats, with all MMR level included. Be sure at high MMR the kill rate is ridiculous.

How does an animation allow killers to bait it out, if the survivor can dead hard on reaction to a killer lunge? There’s no baiting it out with those survivors. They’re waiting for the killer to start holding the M1 button so they can press their dead hard button. An animation is only meaningful if killers know it is safe to lunge if they start holding the lunge button before they see a dead hard animation. Bait it out only worked before BHVR took away the startup frames for dead hard.
Yes, players here commenting on the new DH and seeing it as positive are either average MMR killers either survivor mains.
It is clear as pure water that the new DH outclass the old one. But well, some ppl needs time to process everything and understand why it is better, they need to feel it cause thinking about it is not enough.
Also, players that have never faced survivors using DH on reaction are clueless of how strong this new DH will be for those survivors.

@dugman said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3019754#Comment_3019754
- Dead Hard isn’t a buff. Simply the fact that it doesn’t protect against non-damaging effects and grabs means it’s not useful in a bunch of scenarios the current version is, like hopping over Trapper traps and dodging Deathslinger spears and not being grabbed at vaults (where the current version you can preemptively lunge ahead to vault without being grabbed, not if the killer is too close they can grab you as you vault and the Endurance has no effect). So it’s still a good perk but no way is it a “buff”.
- You’re definitely wrong about 10 seconds per generator not making a difference. I can’t count how many times as a killer I’ve barely missed gens being completed at 80 seconds that I would have stopped with a bit more time. It’s a significant base game slowdown.
- CoH has seen a lot less use since its most recent nerfs. It’s still being used but it’s not as meta as it was when it first came out.
- Borrowed Time being base kit has zero effect on me as a killer. I always just assumed every rescue had Borrowed Time anyway and played accordingly. This change has no impact on how I play as a killer.
- Those reductions in stun times and speed boosts are actually significant. It’s a difference of a couple of meters of distance I think between how far a survivor can get away from you now versus after the changes. Just look at why Save the Best for Last is popular as an example of how reducing stun duration after a hit is useful.
- yes DH will be less effective in some scenario and way more in others. I do not call it a nerf.
- 10 seconds on gens won't change anything, the cnerf on regressing perks will negate this change
- COH is in all high MMR game, even 2 survivors with COH
- BT as base kit will have an effect on you as a killer, why ? Cause it is freeing a perk slot for each survivors that do not need BT anymore and in end game it will be a huge game changer as it will be like every survivors have BT
- It would be significant if there was less pallets/windows, fact is that the survivor is able to run 20 meters away or 16 won't be game changer as there are pallets every 5 meters
Your positivism is good but at high MMR it will be terrible to play killer, more than what it is now : more frustrating, more gen rush.

How can you use it the exact same way if it doesn't give distance? Currently DH gives you 2 extra meters to reach a window or a pallet, without the distance, if the survivor uses DH at the same exact spot the animation is over before he reaches it, allowing you to get a hit.
Weird for the animation part. We will see hot it is.

Current Dead Hard has two elements: being able to dodge a hit AND the distance to clutch an extra loop to reach a window/pallet. The first part of the perk has counters, as you can bait it out. The second one doesn't have a counter. They are removing the component of the perk that doesn't have a counter, while buffing the part of the perk that has a counter. Seems fair to me.
There won't be any animation, you won't know if DH has been activated or not, good luck to bait it. There is no counterplay but luck. That is all.

I didn't say just killers I said everyone. That means both killers and survivors that had a problem with dead hard.
The dead hard for distance was absolutely the most complained about part. Just look at all the complaints about it though out the forum.
If the survivor use dead hard at the right time they get rewarded for it and that's completely fair now that it takes skill to get the reward. Additionally it has an animation so the killer can bait it out meaning they get counterplay.
The perk is now balanced.
There won't be any animation. It will be invisible as BT unless you launch the hit.
The old DH animation was the going forward one. Survivor won't go forward anymore so no animation left. Good luck baiting it :)

Just cause he says it now doesn't make it true, you won't know until you see the animation and what survivors can do after the animation wether theres a slight delay to actions after or not. Removing the dash aspect is still a nerf either way.
They have added a speedboost. It is not a nerf, it is at best a side step, if DH cannot be baited anymore it is a huge buff.
If you know the game mechanics, it is an obvious buff.

Even Otzdarva has said that the new Dead Hard will be stronger in a lot of scenarios, like just pressing E before vaulting or putting down a pallet, guaranteeing a free escape along with a speed boost. That's why we're not seeing survivor mains crying about the Dead Hard nerf because it is actually better in some ways now. It's so hilarious that the devs completely destroyed killer meta perks, but the no.1 most used survivor perk still stays strong. No amount of extra bp rewards is gonna convince people to play killer if this unfairness continues lol.
Sure it is a buff. Have made a post yesterday to talk about it but many players disagree.
I guess they do not see the possibilities the new DH bring on the table. Some ppl need to face it to understand it.
DH was OP, it will become unbeatable and make the game terribly toxic.

With the changes that have been announced, i do not see how killer players will continue to play.
- DH change is a buff to my mind, but i would agree to call it a side step
- All regression perks nerfed, gen rush will be huge, the added 10 seconds to complete a gen won't change anything
- No change on CoH, it was META and will be even more META with the various nerf on other perks
- BT becomes base kit
- no change on map layout/pallets/windows
- slight changes on stun/speed boost but it won't be game changer as there are 15 pallets on a map
They have nerfed to the ground killer that won't be able to rely on regression perks to have a single chance to win and they have changed the survivors' META that will be : DH, COH, Prove Thyself, Unbreakable, Lithe, SB.
Well, once again, i had hope BHVR would understand their game, they still did not. I did not play for 2 months and i won't come back.

I've never seen that happen. The biggest evil of dead hard was it being used for distance. I have always found it easy to bait out.
It was in all my games 2 or 3 months ago. Not 100% of survivors, some still failed but most of them timed DH perfectly.

Against some survivors (the ones that can dead hard on reaction to a killer pressing the M1 button), the new dead hard gives them MORE distance, since they get a free speed boost from it. And I know they are using dead hard on reaction when they magically dead hard even though they are looking forward.
Exactly, High MMR is full of those players. It will be horrible... once again.
Killer mains did not like it, they will hate it even more now.
Funny, devs wanted to break the META perks, they have reinforced this one that will be in every kit now.

Yes you can. Its a guessing game. They don't know when a killer is going to take a swing at them.
Fact is if they trigger DH when they start to hear the swing, the server validates it.
When i was playing (cause i have stopped DbD), at a good MMR most survivors timed it perfectly even when trying to bait it with head movements.

If the new DH scares you, you're going to need to sit down while I tell you about a perk called Sprint Burst.
SB is okay, you can trigger it at the start of the chase, it is a good perk but was less punitive than DH.

After a successful Dead Hard. Which is not guaranteed, because they have to actually time it with the killer's swing, which is something the killer knows and will be baiting out.
Compare to before, where you were guaranteed value just by pressing the E button. The best case scenario for DH might have gone up, but the best case scenario is also dramatically less achievable.
You cannot bait DH against a good survivor. A good survivor use sound to trigger hit.

They really didn't. The two ways before were to dodge a hit, and to make distance for a free chase reset. The latter was problematic because it was completely uncounterable on top of both being a very strong effect.
Now, it only dodges hits. You'll get a little speed boost, but they nerfed the on-hit speed boost too, so it won't be much. Basically, they empowered dodging a hit (which you can counter) and completely removed pure distance (which you could not). It's a good change. Not perfect, but good.
Yes they nerfed it to 1.8s at 6m/s.
Killer stun has been reduced as well to 2.7 sec.
After a successfull DH, survivors will draw a distance of :
6x1,8 + 0,9x4 = 14,4 m
It is way more than the current DH... They clearly buffed it.
