  • Kinda disappointing they are making it non-exclusive on their sub game but the main ones are left out XD.

  • The coin addons for Killers are generally worth less than nothing, while chest perks aren't as unpopular as they used to be its still generally silly to use an offering to counter them when you could get more BP for yourself without affecting the game to much.

@CheersTC I had this in mind:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/73591/black-chest-or-black-alter-killer-addons#latest

It makes use of basement, non-tunneling plays, and ranges on performance.

  • Huntress Iridescent Hatchets? You do realize that you have at max 3 of them instead of 5? Learn how to dodge huntress hatchets? Look behind you and wiggle. It becomes a 50/50 gamble for the huntress. Don't wait till last minute to drop pallets. Like basic stuff. Break LOS.

  • I mean if you didn't super-sonic and do gens and tried to you know extend the game you would have more points. Games that are rushed when I play killer I generally get around 15-20k points. In many cases survivors are roughly 5k lower than this because not doing totems <3 we can leave it there. However, an extended match I have had full sets of 20k+ to the max on all of us with only a few thousands difference. Which is really how much you did during that match. The balance of bloodpoints is dependent on how the match went specifically. If you get tunneled out early ofc you don't get that many points. You were not around. If killers deny healing points by tunneling you reduce the other team's points. However, if survivors rush through gens you also ruin the killer's point gain as there is not enough time to get the hooks, and damage points. Having longer matches rather than pot-peddling points seems to be an all around better solution.

You're describing two completely different things here. The detection area that was increased is just the portion of the screen that needs to cover the killer in order to reveal them (i.e. how close to the center of the screen the killer needs to be). Detection range, like the add-on effects, is the distance at which they can reveal you.

@Peanits I try to say this every time people mess it up. As far as we are concerned the area we can see ghostface is his 'detection range' That includes how far away. They generally mean that sweet spot type area not distance. Distance is fine sweet spot is too wide. Although, I know these "Devs don't care" posts would make me want to just quit and stop working on the game all together.

  • In the Developer Update it was mentioned that the Bridge for Bloodpoint scoring between survivors and Killers will be bridged.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/73591/black-chest-or-black-alter-killer-addons#latest

    Could be a good compensation.

Well, a DC doesn't count for a death, anyway. What they need to do is have harsher penalties towards DCing to help that a bit. What I worry with kills is that it wouldn't count if you happened to kill no one, but two hooked everyone. You should be rewarded for that all the same.

See I want to reward the actual killers. Not the farm everyone twice essentially. Like if you don't kill or have disconnects (because that is super uncommon ya know) I don't think you really deserve higher tier addons. I am just looking to make a balanced mechanic since it is a bloodcow to get addons for a killer. While survivors have the ability to keep theirs and gain new ones every trial.

  • Nope, valid strategy even the devs acknowledged that along side tunneling. Although, if the game was balanced you wouldn't want to use these tactics.

    Yep. Or a toxic name.

Whenever I see a name that's blatantly offensive, I don't dodge, but I slap on an Ebony.

I slap on a shroud. Watch them dc after first hook or even sooner.

Also this thread doesn't make sense either. "New Killers: Rank 3 Killer/Survivor"

Just because you haven't,doesn't mean that nobody has ever done something like that

To OP,people dodge a 2 Men SWF with no items ffs.

I can agree but there are plenty of reasons to dodge. Swf at any form included. The game is unbalanced against 4 coordinated solo players. Not even gonna bring in free perks for swf survivors.

  • @Visionmaker said:

Maybe they're looking at your play time or achievements.

More like it. Or swf friend relationships.

most of the times. if the survivors were focusing on repairing generators (A.K.A. Genrushing). the killer will most likely tunnel a survivor or two just to do his objective faster. and that's okay. and there's no problem with it at all.

but when a killer starts camping and tunneling right off the hook or just simply facecamp the survivor for the entire 3 minutes. he's/she's just being an a**hole.

same goes to survivors if they genrushed and teabagged the killer or kept spamming windows.

not to mention that spam clicking the flashlight near the killer sometimes seem to work as a bait for the killer to chase a specific survivor.

    .

as a solo survivor. you must expect that a lot of survivors will just ignore you and keep repairing the generators and focus on escaping alone.

while in a swf group. the survivors doesn't like leaving while one of their friends is dying. so they'll attempt to save most of the times. even in the dangerous situations.

    .

as a killer. you'll basically control the game. you're able to give each survivor every bit of " fun " and let them enjoy their match. or just be an #########. and which is something that will probably be a big problem when they rework the ranking system. because if they added rewards for ranking up. a lot of people will take the rank in a more serious way and play more competitive. this would increase the amount of overpowered/broken things you'll see in the game ( looking at you iridescent head huntress with eboni mori ).

for me. the best way i can think of that can help fixing this issue a lot. is by waiting for now. because it doesn't happen every match. and most of the people doesn't care about ranking

and once the ranking system rework comes. the player should be able to choose if he want to play casual or competitive with a big fat punishment for rage quitting.

some people who are reading this comment are probably saying now " there of course will be a lot of toxic people who just want to ruin the experience in casual ". so let me tell you something really quick. going tryhard would be a big waste of items, add-ons and offerings for both sides. and i don't think i need to mention the reasons. and if by any chance.

In reality this comes as a necessary evil. Play Wraith perkless at high rank with no addons and then tell me playing Mr. Walk away and not camp ever how it goes. Gen rush happens because multiple survivors can do multiple objectives at the same time. 3 gens every 80 seconds. Simply put tunneling or camping someone out in many cases is effective. PGTW is a clown teachable that gives kicking gens a purpose. Without it a single m1 tap and boom your effort is gone.

  • If you're a killer who dodges lobbies because a prestige 1 Nea joins it, I'm going to make this very clear.

I have never disconnected a lobby because of someone wearing bloody clothes. Especially at Rank 3.

    This is just ridiculous.

I care to disagree. It maybe not a huge buff, but it would be easy to implement, making it more likely to become a thing.

"Guys I am going down near shack" - defeats your entire theory. A decent swf team even coordinates by which pallets they have used and what gens and other areas were done. The moment they saw you had knockout your 'fatigue' idea is over.

Edit: Not to mention the aura is distance based. If you were not right at shack they would see your aura. They know general location.

  • @fluffymareep said:

Instead, we could make it off of hooks instead of kills. So brown: 3, yellow: 6, green: 9, purple: 12. I'm guessing alters/black chests will be in the base game, so we could have a perk like Ace in the Hole to give another add-on and up the rates for during game. I really like this idea~

I don't particularly like this idea myself. @fluffymareep as many survivors dc or suicide which prevents hook states. At least with kills your effort will be worth something. Although, since the tokens are already based on hooks. The kill equivalent would be alright.

I have no issues with current sound. Invest in good pair of headphones with surround sound support. Playing this game on speakers is self-mutilation anyway.

@Thaznar good bait only purchased like a good $200 pair. God I should have invested in the $250 dollar one.

OK guys, enough is enough. I know you all liked your free Stridor and Monitor and Abuse because sounds were broken but that is not how sounds in this game should be.

Yeah, but deafening chase music and survivor's ear-piercing SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAMS are not valid either for the current place of sound.

  • What do you guys think?

  • @Gcarrara said:

Interesting idea. They do indeed leave an husk behind when disconnected!

Still this would work only on survivors, since without a killer the game ends instantly.

This would have to be for unintentional leaves only. Like someone bugs out. Then on like say a 45 second timer. After that Begone.

  • @DocOctober said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/564816#Comment_564816

Most crawl away from the Killer in a scenario in which they are left alone (more likely if Knock Out is in play). I know it wouldn't work each time, but it would help.

Again you are referring to swf. If someone is running knock out 95% of the time they are slugging and using deerstalker. This means the killer knows where you are anyway. Why would you move when you can't see anything. Especially in a swf?

  • Apply the fatigue VFX to knocked out Survivors, making it more difficult for them to know their surroundings.

I think they would know in the map where they got downed. @DocOctober like when do you go down in a map and be like "Uh what map is this where am I" By then they already would say "Going down by killer shack" etc.

  • With this dc punishment coming in the future, do you think more people will give up on the hook since they don't want to get banned?

From what I can tell it is gonna be a high amount of dcs before a ban. Most of these toxic people have no problem staying if they are rolling over a killer/survivor group but can't take a loss.

@Slayer Are you even serious with this comment?

This "Gen Rushing" as you call it, is 99% of the time the result of you tunneling one target. What do you expect the rest to do? Wait for you to get better at catching the one player?

Countering would be efficiently hooking multiple survivors so that other survivors have to go and save (i.e. giving them a reason to pause on their main objective).

The devs never said DS was strictly an anti-tunneling perk. It works as such, but it isn't meant to only work for that. Adapt.

    It fine as it is.

I look at DS as they announced it was to prevent tunneling. If it is designed around tunneling but can be abused to do other things. Than the claimed anti-tunnel perk is not actually anti-tunnel. Simple logic goes along way. Similar to legions blades they functioned how they functioned it wasn't intended and it got fixed. Just because it is better or in a state that seems acceptable doesn't mean that the mechanic is working as intended.

No, you should be making it an incentive to add content to the game. As another thread stated paying for more diverse moris. I even stated there I am down for it but I do not feel we should be paying for low-effort material. I pointed out some of the killer weapons that are the same blade and everything different handle color. Which was not in the slightest good effort to reward for. You are making incentive's for them to make the blood-web even harder to capitalize on it. @KrazyKat1011123 next we will be paying for rank.

Why don't you earn your points instead of using your wallet. I know this is extremely hard to think of that you might have to put effort into your characters.

  • I have a thread under balance that gives a solution to both problems.

  • On second note: I would love for them to make this type of map. It works similar to lery's or game so why not. Many isles at stores have cuts in them (not vaults) but openings which could make a mind-game madness maze.

    EDIT EVEN BETTER

Not only could we have this map but the cashier could be the solo survivor! EZ solves both issues.

  • If you guys played stealthy and looked for the totem before trying to loop the killer. Things might go differently. At the start of every round the killer is gonna do a patrol loop around gens until someone is found. Use this to your advantage.

  • @ElusivePukka said:

My revision highlighting a version of tru3's idea for a DS fix is where I would go.

Giving everyone a free DS, no matter how long they're slugged or what happens in the meantime, that's a 'free pickup immunity' moreso than what we have now. Requiring an actual hook in between means that savvy survivors can optimize who is downed when, and make active DS perks mark the designated runner/looper.

I'd actually go a step further, and disallow DS activation if someone else is downed first or if someone is fully healed.

Downed first rather than a hook nullifier is actually worse. That incentives the slugging. However, slug unhooker then go slug the ds user and go back for the hook. I am saying with a hook requirement the time they have to get away is a lot longer. If they linger and go down it is nothing more than their bad play. Being downed first usually won't happen. Making the hook a requirement means they have a chance to at least get away from the hook. You still have the option to eat the ds which means tunneling can still be a viable thing. However, having it activate if they were slugged/picked up before another person is hooked is by definition what tunneling is. Which is what Is what my idea prevents. If you have a coordinated team you will eat all 4 ds's in a match not even depending if you tunneled or not. As I said it isn't anti-tunnel it is immunity timer. My 'free pickup immunity' is based off the definition of being tunneled off a hook. Not a timer that is 3/4ths a set of gens of immunity.

  • @HURRI_KAIN said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/563913#Comment_563913

You only hooked one after, and no you didn't tunnel either. 5 more seconds and DS wouldn't have hit you. But you were slugging with no gens done, and many hooks already, which is pretty sweaty and toxic of you. At the same time, they are bum rushing the hooks, or you wouldn't have had that many hooks so fast.

So the killer tunneled not bad plays by survivor? Logic goes a long way.

  • Killer Queues have been so god awful I stopped playing killer.

Matchmaking is not drunk it is HAMMERED, PLASTERED, and any other form of being completely wasted. I have been faced with an Assortment of colors today that were not swfs. I mean I am rank 6 now on survivor and I was matched with an R20.

Edit: The whole time I was wondering... "Why are gens not being done?" I got my answer and the end game screen.

  • @ElusivePukka I would test with and without heal. Not sure if it is that important. Secondly I am not saying it is a big problem. "You know the 'Anti Tunneling' perk. Although, I agree it is a better state than it has ever been. It simply isn't anti-tunneling it is free immunity." I agree it is a lot better than it use to be. However, if they want to make it an anti-tunneling perk. Actually do so. Not half-ass the design.

  • @thekiller490490 what I would suggest is if the person is downed before another survivor is hooked they simply get ds. No timer.... They were slugged and no initiative was done to get someone else aka tunneling. However, if someone is hooked and then they are downed ds is nullified as a non-tunnel hook has been achieved.

If you have a clip of that happening, I would love to take a look. Things like that shouldn't be possible though- if Ghost Face leans around a corner carefully, he cannot even be revealed since at least 20% of his body needs to be visible in order to start revealing him.

@Peanits although, I can't get a clip of it solo as I don't record during my games. However, I can confirm that you can use your camera to reveal ghostface around corners ontop of haddonfield and around pigtree on certain spots.

  • They have confirmed they are gonna make more loops but many of them will have this "Mind Game" in mind. But that is in the map reworks which will span at least two years.
