@dugman Which is sad, because they'll nerf killer addons within the first two months, but leave things like CoH to 'settle' for half a year or more.

The usual.. so many killers turned useless with boons chapter. This is bad at a MoM lvl when it was released or when Machine gun build existed.

I still can't believe how they are ignoring this. I bet if it was something that bother survivors it would get fixed or changed in 2 weeks..

  • Are you using a time machine and coming from the past? ๐Ÿ˜‚

She doesn't need any more nerfs.

  • You are just taking everything out of context and didn't understand the point. The game favors the side that use every tactic they can (being scummy or not) and exploit every possible advantage they can get.

BUT imo if both the killer and the survivors decide to play like this in a match, the survivors have it easy than the killer because they are 4 and the killer its just one, and with the recent patches (validations and boons) there is a notable difference that favor survivors in a unfair and unbalanced way.

The Blight build was way more unfair. Survivors don't have anything that could stop it.

You know the unfairness and how OP it is because killers can win with that build almost blind folded. The 4 survivors have to be sweaty, on comms, and make no mistakes and even then they might lose to it.

    It desperately needs a nerf.

A blight with those addons and that build its hard to beat as a soloQ player, but its not imposible and the devs shoudn't balance the game around soloQ but instead around SWF, cause if they did that it would be even more frustrating to play killer againts SWF.

What you can ask to the devs instead of nerfs, is buffs for soloQ imo.

  • There are many second chance perks, but the only one imo that need to go is DH. Extending a chase for another 30 sec or more with just the click of a button without requiring any conditon other than making a mistake (getting injured) its stupid.

He didn't get lucky. He just played at a time of the day where trials are softer and failed to realize that occurence, or at least to discuss it properly.

If you play earlier in the day on EU, you're gonna face much better survivors, with the odd curve ball of baby teams still possible to happen, but much less likely.

That is not to say that many of the points he made are false. Rather, that his little experiment doesn't prove, nor disprove, anything, because its results are easily skewed.

Consider this. He afk'd 30 sec at the beginning of each match. Even if each survivor takes 10 sec to get on a gen, that's 20 sec of free repair time for each survivor. That adds up to a full gen worth of progress. If the they do coop, the numbers get a little more favorable for the killer, but ever so slightly. Moreover, keep in mind that's progress that the killer has no way to undo other than dry-kicking gens.

After that head start, a chase must be initiated and completed. You basically give up 3 gens, with a 4th being close to completion, when you have your first down, even against the tutorial bots.

Simply put, the only way a killer of ANY skill level could rebound from that is by either the survivors to suddenly experience broken left click buttons, or by the survivors being worse than AI.

Totally agree. Here in south america for example in an overal most survivors have a decent skill level, and near midnight there is a lot more SWF and tryhard teams.

I don't think he would get so many kills if he was playing in the servers i play, a challenge like that would be a constant frustration of 1 or 1.5 kill average at most, and of course recurring to scummy tactics.

  • Honestly not even a trillion of BP will make me waste my time on returning to the game and play killer. A lot of things needs to be changed.

  • Sadly we have to forget about nurse pre-nerf. The devs will never make her less frustrating to play, she is now a slowpoke and very addon dependant. Killers are not allowed to have fun, and thats the hidden motto from Behaviour.

Man this is the worst time to have this mindset when loads of the community proved it is quite literally skill issue

Its not an skill issue. Its more like a strategy issue. If you play like hello kitty hooking one by one, no tunneling no camping (playing for fun) you will most of the times kill 1 or 0 survivors, if they are not complete potatoes of course.

Now if you camp, slug and tunnel in the righ moments the tides can change. And also this is heavily affected by wich killer you play obviously.

The only thing that this challenge proved is that the game rewards scummy play in both sides.. wich i think we all already knew.

  • Yep, stomping on boon totems it's pointless and a very bad though mechanic that should be changed to something more efficient, either that or limit the number of times a boon can be re-lit.

Right now the only killer that can laugh about CoH is plague, but with the bug of the vomit not registering hits, its kinda annoying to play.

Citation needed on your 1%. What data do you have that others don't? Or is it just based off your own, personal time in the game?

I'm sorry but if something can be used for racism; it needs to be changed or removed. We don't allow hate to spread and then go 'Oh, well, it's only 1% of people! ยฏ\_(ใƒ„)_/ยฏ '.

I think one thing that has pissed me off about a few replies is this tone of 'Well I never saw it, so it can't be that bad!'. Those are the replies of people unable to comprehend anything outside their own, personal universe. They never saw it, so everyone who suffered must be making a stink over nothing.

And at the other end is people screaming 'All censorship is bad!' and babbling slippery slope fallacies and excuses as to why hate speech is okay because 'It's just words, bruh! It's your fault if you get offended!' (Side note: I want to slap everyone who says it's the target's fault when someone uses hate speech to offend them.)

You are not understanding the point. Was the purpose from Behaviour to make leatherface masks to promote racism? Not in the slightest. Now if some people use them to harass someone its not Behaviour fault and definitely not the community fault, so removing the mask don't fix anything and its a pointless action that only damage content of the Leatherface DLC. What they should do if they are not already doing it, is just take any kind of harassment in post game chat more seriously.

  • @Phasmamain said:

Removing a method to be racist is still a good thing though

There isn't even a 1% of racism in bubba face mask. Its all about how people interpret the use, wich can't be deal with even if the devs apply tougher rules. People will do whatever they want.. Therefore removing the mask does not solve any problem and its totally pointless.

  • @SadLegion said:

Sorry, they need at least one year of careful stats gathering to be able to properly evaluate CoH power level, and make a correct balancing decision. Give them some time, they are a small indie company after all.

They are not small, and if they wait so much i can guarantee that the numbers of players will drastically drop.

  • @Peanits

More than a month its enough to know that boons are not right and that it almost killed the game for killers alongside with DH validation. Now if the team is taking time to properly find a solution and working on it i can respect that, coding takes time.

But what you cannot do is wait a month or more and THEN start working on a solution. Literally the whole community was telling you guys that this was non-sense, waiting so much time instead on working on it sooner, only damage the game and makes players leave.

Hit and run was never viable against a good team. CoH didn't change that. I think CoH is really hurting killers who aren't snuffing the totems. Obviously totems aren't always obvious, but it is always an efficiency gain as a killer to snuff a totem a survivor spent time lighting. I can only speak for myself, but boons haven't been a huge factor in my killer games unless they're in an extremely obtuse spot that also happens to be central in the map.

1 survivor losing time of 3 means nothing or at least nothing in comparison to a killer who is only by himself. Losing time as a killer its more precious and can't be equally compared to survivor. Stomping totems its pointless and should be changed to something more efficient, either that or limit the number of times boons can be re-lit.

I always found it dumb that undying gives itself away. No point running it with devour because it's just a big red flag, aka smart survivors will go "the killer has undying, they probably have devour since there's no other hex perk in play I don't already know about, which I wouldn't have guessed without the knowledge of undying".

Same thing with retribution. I get that it has to if you touch a totem because it makes you oblivious but it also warns you when your aura gets revealed which is silly (unless retribution itself is cleansed first, in that case it actually doesn't).

Other aura reading perks that aren't hexes don't do this, I feel like they only did it because of the cursed status effect. Imagine if perks like BBQ and Nurse's warned the survivors whenever they triggered.

As things are going... It wouldn't surprise me if the devs give survivors a warn in the hud everytime their aura are being revealed for free. With the last patches, DBD has reached the pinnacle of meaningless for me.

  • @sizzlingmario4 said:

Wouldn't be surprised if they think it's fine because their data includes a ton of survivors who are bad at using it and aren't setting up boons properly. Which is something I definitely see sometimes.

This mentality of the devs has always ruined the experience for veteran players.. There is no logic in balancing the game around new players, wich other online game do this? I can't think of any.ย

Baby survivors and baby killers have and must learn to play and adapt or leave if they don't like it. "This holding hands" mentally from the devs needs to stop.

I remember when there was no icon indicator for any hex for example, and now you just walk by a totem and boom you magically know the killer have undying..

The times when you had to guess or remember thing was better than this circus of a game. DBD is becoming more like a "playground with the killers" than what originally was sadly.

  • This patch notes:

Please someone tell to the devs that we are in january, it's 3 month to go until april fools...

Oh wait they are serious? ๐Ÿค”

  • From Devs that think Nemesis zombies are "too fast" and proceed to nerf mov speed zombie addon. You can expect everything.. so you are right.

Better be happy with the addon that we already have instead of risking getting unneeded and unjustified nerfs with an "addon pass".

  • @Mandy said:

I really do not think you can compare racism with teabagging - that's quite baffling.

You are righ but not in the way you think because:

How do you really proof that racism was implied in a game that no body talk and the job of the killer its to kill?

While to the contrary Tbaging its visible and an obvious offense that survivors do just to annoy killers.

Racism does not exist (and for good) in this game.

  • Yea.. not what people was expecting. I personally won't come back to the game unless something its done with DH and CoH. Not that im waiting anyway, i have other games and even my health improved a lot by not playing DBD for months ๐Ÿ˜€

  • @AnneBonny said:

good god why do people care so much, it's a ######### cosmetic in a video game get over it

i would ask the same question to the people that feel "harassed" with a killer in a game that try to "virtually" harass you. Its like how low have we reached? And how frail people have become?

In any case a proper report system its the righ choice. But hey that extra work for Behaviour.. so they just remove the maks that almost no body use.

  • @chargernick85 said:

Just so I understand noed which means the killer was without a slot all game, has a chance to not proc, even if procs can be cleansed is as broken as infinite fast heals that can be activated 14 seconds into match indefinitely and DH which can be used infinite number of times depending on how many times injured.

    Not seeing it.

Certain, i love how people compare DH with Noed. Its like comparing an elite football player to a D division one. The thing is that Noed is balanced despite most survivors hate it, while to the contrary DH its not. That being said i woudn't mind the removal of both perks.

boil over and power struggle will be a big problem

Don't make me laugh. Power Struggle will continue to be a joke. No killer carrying a survivor will ever walk under a pallet.

Think again. There are a lot of situations where you are forced to drop the survivor because another one is blocking your way. Having to reach only a 15% wiggle to trigger the perk it's a huge buff.

  • Dumb action as always. Just to "look good".

If someone wants to harass you they find other ways. Now that said... there are too much crystal people this days. This a game... and a very casual one, its not like Rust where you can really get harassed.

  • And more huge buff to survivors. This is silly and pitiful, killers buff are always minimalistic while survivors buff are huge.. just look at this patch notes, boil over and power struggle will be a big problem. Glad im not playing this game anymore.

And why the hell nerf Nemesis zombies? The devs LOVE to ruin killers fun.

  • At least its something.. it was about time to post some QoL changes. Only skins and new chapter updates get boring without caring about the core gameplay problems. And dbd has a lot of those..

I am honestly a fan of this, because the idea of needing to find a generator piece before you can work on a generator really changes the objective in a tactical way, after all, the item is used up, so then if you had to switch to a different gen, you'd have to find another. It would also encourage survivors to work on the same gen, which make them easier to be found by the killer.

I also like the idea of needing to find a fuse to power up the exit gate switch.

I would make the game more dymanic and fun but the amount of work it requires by reworking all gen perk its big. But yeah i wish this was on the devs to do list and focus on this, making the game more fun instead of just releasing new chapters and skins.

Who knows maybe for DBD ver 7.0..

  • There are 2 options:

    1. Reduce and increase gen speed acording to survivors alive (like many similar games) for example: 4 survivors alive = 50% normal speed, 3 survivors alive 75%, 2 survivors alive 150%.
    2. Or completely change the repair mechanic to something more fun like a treasure hunt, for example: in order to repair a gen you need to search for parts in the map and as you apply it on a gen its gets a % of completion. This is the most fun way because its boring to hold M1 and this change that BUT this requires to change plenty of perks so this is not going to happen.
  • Wich part of it are you refering?

The part when they forgot about making a fun game experience and instead focus on just releasing DLCs and skins?

Or the part when they started creating unbalanced perks?

  • @DemonDaddy said:

Mmr only effectively works for survivors, killers are placed wherever mm needs them to be whether it be up or down.

As a solo q survivor i get killers with a "terminator" skill lvl despite i die a lot. And as killer i get i would say 50% medium difficulty matches and 50% SWF squads, its very mixed.

So for me its the contrary, at least in solo q SBMM is non existent.

  • Dailys needs a rework, just like the main mechanics of this game.

  • @Labrac said:

Where are you on? I play on SA (Brazil) and my ping is always green.

I play on BR servers also and finding a green ping one its like finding Wally.. You must be lucky or something. This happens to all the people i know that play DBD not only me, thats why i know its not my internet.

I could only play 3 games in 2 hours with reasonable ping 40-60.. Most lobbys are yellow with 180+.

  • @GuyFawx said:

I dont know if this is frowned on but you could try a vpn though before you do that make sure it wont get you banned for using it. I know a while back alot of chinese players were doing it for an advantage. So just ask if itll get you banned if it wont then thats one way.

Almost every dbd streamer use a VPN so i don't think you can get banned for that, they select their region of course, but VPN can gives lagspikes sometimes wich is worse... Would be more simple if Behaviour for once decide to improve their precarious servers.

    @Shaped said:

Sorry to hear that. I live in a 3rd world ish hole and my ping is mostly green still.

Here it was fine at first but the last years when DBD became really popular the servers got worse.

  • Killers are not allowed to have broken perks. Look how fast Coup the grace got patched lol

  • Because its not needed and its a waste of a precious perk slot?

    1. If you are repairing and someone is on the hook and you see another survivor getting injured you know you have to go for the unhook.
    2. The killer is camping? you can know it by going near the hook.
    3. If you are repairing somewhat near the hooked survivor you know you have to at least go and check because maybe the others are far away and its like that most of the times.

Over rated perk in conclusion. Not needed by survivors that are experienced and know what to do.

  • Easy fix. Don't play.

I had backpain and headaches in the past. And i realized it was because of DBD.. playing killer is not healthy it damage your nerve system, and no its not an exageratition its a fact, at least for me.

The cap for me its 1 hour, if i play more than that i can see how my hands shake for a while. But obviously not playing at all its the best choice if you want a healthy life, nerve damage is cumulative, so taking long breaks for a few days is a good choice.

I know all this by experience im not a doctor but if there was a health professional that would take the time to analyze people that play DBD, i'm sure he/she will say something similar like me.

  • Thats like asking people to stop complaing about tunneling and camping.

  • Its entirely the devs fault for implementing unbalanced mechanic in the last patches. Before pallet validation DH validation and boons, camping and tunneling wasn't so present.

  • She is, obviously mindlessly holding W isn't effective against any killer.

Going from loop to loop with a bit of sense is what is needed to make the artist sweat against you.

  • Im still waiting for the possibility to select my hex spawns. That's the only fix for survivors spawning near totems and hex spawns near generators which is completely dumb.

  • Probably the same people that DC against trickster.. unskilled people.

The artist doesn't need a nerf to the contrary a buff or QoL change in her power would be appreciated. She's too easy to counter making her another boring M1 killer most of the times.

  • The loops layout and pallet placement its more determinant when talking about map balance. For example for me the worse map in the entire game is Dead dawn Saloon, and that map is tiny. But it have incredible strong loops and a hundred breakable walls. This is the only map that makes me wanna DC.

  • As others said, a way to forbid flashlight macros.

  • Just like politicians deny being corrupt ๐Ÿ˜…

  • My escape rate in solo Q is probably 1 or 2 in 10 games so yeah.. Solo Q is worse and since MMR only benefit SWF and don't take into account how you play and just your escapes, it sucks even more.

  • I don't know which part of it i hate most, the distance it gives or the validation but of what i'm sure is that one of the two features has to go. It gives too much and require 0 skill.

  • I will quote myself from another thread. Playing chill as killer isn't an option and yes the game reward you only if you kill, If you don't kill anyone the experience is miserable.

    @Irisora said:

If you have a high MMR like me and play like a slob you get two possible guarantee situations at the end..

    1. You won't kill anyone, but you don't get teabaged etc.
    2. You won't kill anyone and get teabaged and insulted in game chat.

Yeah playing chill as killer is a viable choice... not really. You either play tryhard or you won't even get a single kill.

The killers job is to kill if you don't get at least 1 or 2 kills you did wrong and not because you must, because it feels like it and the game make you of that, how?

    1. You didn't kill anyone? Entity displeased
    2. You didn't kill anyone? Survivors get cocky and mock in chat.

Now if you think about DBD as Hello kitty online, where you don't have to kill anyone then play chill. But DBD is not hello kitty neither a chill game and never was.

Now if you play as you should which is tryharding you get:

    1. Satisfaction for killing, rank and more BP.
    2. A heavenly silent end game chat were no one even say gg.

What do you prefer? My choice is clear.
