Old Discordance didn't have a range requirement. The duration of the noise notification was the thing that was buffed every Tier
i think thats why it was better. because it would go off more.

How is Tier 3 Discordance worse than Tier 1? It has a bigger range
It used to be worse at tier 3 I believe. but I think they changed it to where 3 was better
-
Auto Didact, Alert, Solidarity (basically just got nerfed)
All time favorite is still
OBJECT OF OBSESSION god is this perk fun, especially when you abuse a killers perk (light born) against them

@TheArbiter said:
Tbh this game shouldn't have any perks affecting movement speed to begin with
i agree, all movement speed perks are allmost garbage, only decent one is NOED or mabye hope?

Survivor have a many movement speed perk , boon dark theory , dead hard , sprint burst , blood pact and fixated.
Killer just have only PYWF and noed.

I wouldn't count any exhaustion perks cause the movement speed is 3-4 seconds tops.
and I don't think we can really complain about fixated since its just for walking
id rather them give Boon: Dark theory and Play with your food a secondary effect
-
Its possible. never seen anyone do it. but just the fact that nemesis(perk) exist makes it possible
someone will do it eventually

I like the voices we have already, to be honest.
Yes i agree they are good, but its off putting for Julie & Susie and Joey & Frank to sound the same.
it would be a nice touch and i hope they consider it in the future
-
Movement speed perks/add-ons are not something to take lightly, I'd rather it be given a secondary effect then just buffing the speed.
Also give a secondary effect to dark theory
-
The pain. Spirit I could handle. But huntress and trickster would make me cry
-
I'm starting to play artist more, as well as branching out into doctor and nemesis, but when playing artist I feel bad sometimes cause you just can't loop her correctly.
I place a crow at a pallet and they get hit by me or a crow.
They have no option most of the time other than hold w.
Isn't this the same reason they nerfed Pyramid head that one time.
-
im still sad i didnt play dead by daylight the last day hawkins was here

@AcelynnBen said:
Honestly pig feels stronger than her mainly the fact that the survivors are on a timer, while her passive takes eternity
i think pig might be slighty stronger in chase. but i still think with sadako teleport she is slightly better in general.

On killer side, everyone knows the answer: because of the ***** nurse!
Imagine how fun starstruck / i'm all ears / (10+ perks) could be if this ass killer did not exist!
Delete nurse, then huge buff for all fun perks, tia :)
I agree that nurse should of never been a thing, but not that she's here we are stuck with her.
I never want to see a killer like nurse again

I think it's perfectly fine in the coming midchapter
I'm more so wondering what their logic is when it comes to changes like this. Even in the PTB I think we (as a community) made it quite clear Boil Over was going to cause so many problems but it hit live anyway
But then you get stuff like Buckle Up which was useless and is still useless. Makes me sad
Yes im not denying that they take too long to nerf some things. and that some 2 strong perks leave ptb. but then they nerf weak perks for no reason its like they spin a wheel.
-
@Brokenbones said:
I think I'm gonna make a more indepth thread on this topic at some point as I've got a lot to say on the matter of perk balance and the like.
Let's take Boil Over as Example #1:
It was a useless waste of a perk for many years, they finally decide to buff it and give it a secondary effect so overwhelmingly strong that not only did it have to be nerfed, not only did it cause RPD and Eyrie of Crows to be edited but It's also being nerfed again.
Now I want to raise the question, why did BHVR make Boil Over such a strong perk without taking into consideration how much it would be (and was) abused? Was it simply the case that they came up with the idea, made it work and just figured if it was too much they could just scale it down?
Personally I like that they were willing to take a completely uninteresting perk like boil over and make it actually do something, the problem is that the perk was:
A) Easily abuseable due to maps, other perk combos and coordination
B) Perks that cause the killer trouble with hooking are generally kind of unhealthy because they cause situations where the killer physically cannot hook you and has to bleed you out. DS doesn't count as one of these perks, as it's on a timer and it's conditional - not always active
Now let's take Buckle Up as Example #2:
It's a useless waste of a perk (As part of a money only DLC I might add) that has two effects that both do nothing. What did BHVR do to rectify it? Added 4 seconds to an effect that barely goes off. Disappointing.
I can only speak for myself in saying that, I wish BHVR would just take all of the garbage perks on both sides and re-do them from scratch.
(mostly applies to survivor perks though ngl, their good perks are so good it feels like there's no point using anything else, killer at least has some variety)
but now they have nerfed it twice again and in my eyes it has become a good, but not op perk

I think that slinger and spirit needed to be nerfed. Also DS, object, COH needed it and dead hard and iron will still do.
I dont think iron will is needing of a nerf

@Pulsar said:

Well, this goes back to BHVR being extremely slow at updating.
I wouldn't be so upset about the lackluster Ghostface changes if it meant he'd be buffed soon.
Adjusting 1.5 Killers per patch and changing 5 perks per patch was great in 2018 when I started playing, but the game is WAY too big now.
I wouldn't mind if they took more time on midchapter patches, the legion(awesome music) , ghost face(awful music and they kinda nerfed him a little) and Haddonfield (even if I think its a horrible rework of Haddonfield) are nice to see all done in one patch, i hope with the twins changes they make them less sluggish to play
-
@Pulsar said:
Because they can't seem to differentiate between perks that will be brokenly strong and perks that won't.
Ie, nerfing Coup de Grace in the PTB but Circle of Healing made it through and is still crazy 6 months later.
I dont mind if perks are stupidly strong for a little bit as long as they dont take the same ammount of time to nerf or balance them like circle of healing
its not a bad thing to test extreme ideas

Meh I think 10s was a bit much. But 7 is not enough.
Unfortunately the survivor meta is full of perks which are either broken, or are necessary to deal with certain killers and playstyles (BT and DS). So a perk that would shake up the meta would very likely also be broken, which COH was and still is.
I dont really think it was a bit much at all, giving me a " a wee bit overpowered"
-
@EvilJoshy said:
They can't introduce strong perks that shake up the meta because the meta is broken. Also releasing a perk and then toning it down months later is not alright. That's how we got into the mess with CoH and old MoM.
I do agree they should be taking quicker action but they fixed boil over (good perk not busted anymore) and CoH there still trying to fix. and i think its good

Parental Guidance got overnerfed. Should’ve been 8 seconds.
Corrective Action is okay for what it’s meant to do. It’s meant for newer players and that’s okay. Technician needs to lose its extra regression penalty though.
Exponential is bad and will always be bad until they fix boons. Until then it can’t be made a good perk without making it busted.
Storm just feels like a complete meme ngl. It’s funny on doctor though.
Coup de Grace never should’ve been nerfed, literally nobody complained about it.
I don't think "Parental Guidance" should of been nerfed at all. especially since most killers unless they are running enduring or spirit fury maybe nemesis(the perk) will bait the pallet and such. stuns are much harder/ less frequent at higher level play.

The problem i have with perks that "Are for newer players" is that they are locked behind a paywall making them meaningless.

I'm so sad they don't do the killer spotlight trailers anymore explaining all killer/survivor perks and power it was so nice

have you never seen a lobby with more than one of a survivor?
I don't know if we can count how trails work as canon, tho I would really like it to be like that.
In truth the trials are probably more one sided (survivors probably only get one hook or healing isn't as effective) as seen through the opening cinematic and through the tome we know survivors fight back , like when we seen even macmillan (when he was a survivor) setting a trap for a giant spider killer.

Maybe after a version is thrown into the void The Entity gets another version? Also from what I remember, The Observer couldn't piece if the claudette was actually evil or not. Idk tho. It's been a while since I've actually read The Observer's lore
If not evil she was probably not so kind hearted like are Claudette. Maybe she was more like yun-jin.
-
She doesn't need a nerf , she needs to stay her boring , forces survivors to hold w , self.
-
I don't think the nerf really did much to him, his addon pass was worse.
It just felt unnecessary
-
From what i can tell there working on a ping system similar to IDENTITY V.
But would probably be more like small images of Gens, totems, chest, unhooking, pig trap, lament configuration, trap disarming , ect.
-
Ultra looks worse than high in my opinion
-
@ItzZane_ said:
While multiple versions of the survivors & killers exist in the lore, I don't think the entity takes different versions of the survivors & killers.
I disagree sorta. there was a whole little tome piece of a seemingly evil Claudette. I think the entity takes a liking to certain survivors and plucks different versions of them

I really like Sadako, she's a ton of fun. 🙂 She even has a couple of decent perks to boot!
I Agree i love her
But she feels like she doesn't have a power most of the time. she is worse than legion. only thing making her stronger than pig is her teleport
-
Yeah I hope this gets fixed right away.
Even if trapper is weak it still is gross to be able to trap like that

I like this idea.
i was thinking along the lines, how a lot of nurses blink to where they Last saw the survivor first. then follow up with a second. so that's what I meant by riskier plays.
i still dont know if this would a really bad nerf. but at least it would make expose perks less Effect on her

Left Behind and Clairvoyance are far from worthless, especially in conjunction with a key. Survivors also have maps to track the hatch.
Yeah but weaker than the majority of perks, especially with the current boon meta clarivoyance is not worth running and with left behind you relying on ur teammates dying. I just can see these perks being anything other than bottom tier garbage.
While on the other hand No way out is a really decent perk that has helped me turn around many games.
-
Two worthless perks, and keys that aren't even worth brining anymore (other than maybe blood amber)

I think it’s someone (presumably Jake himself) biting down on something to stop himself from crying out in pain, or to focus on instead of it.
As for my own:
It took me 2k hours to realise Beast of Prey was in fact not a wolf, but a bear.
Coulrophobia?? How does the fear of clowns interfere with healing?
Yoichi’s Dark Theory is one of the images on the tape, I think, but I’m not sure what it even is.
Towel man. People think he is Ryuji Takayama (Yoichis dad)
-
@ItzZane_ said:
Iron will. Is it a bear biting something? And that "something" Is it iron or a bamboo stick. I legit don't know
I think it's a human biting wood, alot of time it's used if someone has to do something painful without pain relief.
Like ear piercing or if someone has to do emergency medical stuff by themselves.
Keeps ur mind of off the pain to try to reduce it and muffles ur screams and groans.
Also used to stop you from biting ur tongue in said situations.

Empathy is a lie, Claudette mains don't care about people.
Dance With Me is a lie, no survivors (or killers) are seen dancing.
and Barbecue and Chili is a lie, Barbecue and/or Chili doesn't appear when you use this perk.
Really ashamed of Behavior Interactive, tbh. They should really go back to making good games, like Jersey Devil and MySims.
Mysims is an amazing franchise

I said nothing about needing the 4K, just trying to keep the perk name and function consistent. Thanks though!
This is a horrible argument.
-
I want more maps , alot more. I want ever single match to feel different.
-
How about her first blink is a basic attack , but her second is a special attack.
Rewarding her for riskier plays of using only one blink.
(Line of sight blocking and all that)
-
On PC. Switch controls are hell for that game

That last phrase "a good nurse will never lose against the average survivor" could be applied to literally anything. Of course a good player won´t lose against a average one.
Yeah I agree, I guess I worded it wrong. I am still under the belief she is 2 strong.
Tho I'm afraid of them nerfing her cause it could make her 2 weak.
I just don't want any killer like her in the future because to me she holds back BHVR from making any extreme balance changing or strong killer perks.
-
Sure nurse is hard to learn. But to me that is not an excuse for them to be that strong. I'm not sure what I would do to her to make her not as broken.
Because she is hard to balance, she is either going to be broken or weak.
A good nurse will never lose against the average survivor.
-

There’s a lot of little excerpts like this in the Observer notes. What’s cool is when you realize the Max being talked about is Hillbilly. Gives the reader a splash of color.
It's fun to imagine all the survivors we don't see. As it seems Elodie was taken before we got her and probably so many other killers and survivors
-
@MiserableKiller said:
Because survivors are very entitled and quite used to having a tremendous advantage every game - so when that's taken away from them and they're reduced to an even playing field against an s-tier killer it upsets them.
They are the only two killers in-game that can win (consistently) on any map against the best teams in sweaty games. That makes people think they are broken, regardless of how much time it takes/skill to use either of them properly.
It's as simple as that. Survivors will cry about anything that can remotely challenge them.
Well if ur winning consistently as a killer, doesn't that make them actually "op"? If you get an average of a 2k each game that seem balanced but if he getting a 4k every game or almost every game, I think that does tell you they need a toning down.
