  • The problem is the terrible, non-functional SBMM system. You can be a very good survivor player but you'll often get matched with useless teammates who never touch a gen, hide in the corner all game, or go down 10 seconds after chase starts. Solo q wouldn't be so bad if there was a way to ensure that you don't get matched with terrible players. Two easy changes would help:

    1. Make an option for people to select to prioritize accurate matchmaking over queue time. I'm fine waiting longer if it means I actually have a chance of getting matched with people who know how to play the game. If people want quicker queue times, then they have that option as well.
    2. Make an option to opt out of being thrown into lobbies as a backfill. That will make your queue times longer, but I'm fine with that if I can avoid being backfilled into a match with brand new players. Again, people can not select this if they want faster queue times.
  • It's so lame an unfun to go against as survivor. The devs know it's broken AF but they won't do anything about it. People have been complaining about it for years.

I just want to have ONE game that isn't an absolute trainwreck!

I just wasted an hour of my life trying to play but tbh there is so much of your control that it's just futile.

Even if survivors do well the killer just dc.

I always think, oh it will be different but it hardly ever is.

I don't think any other game values your time less than dbd survivor role.

My region I have to wait like 7mins to find a game as killer and I just autowin cause survivors can't play as a team after 8 years of this games existence.

    Wth happened?

I blame the SBMM system more than anything. I frequently get matched with teammates who refuse to touch gens (even though they are not being chased), hide in corners and self-care when injured, go down 10 seconds after start of chase, hide in lockers, etc. It's very clear that these are new and/or downright bad players. I'm not a great survivor player, but I feel like I'm reasonably competent and certainly the days where I played like these potato teammates are way behind me. I have no problem escaping consistently when I have competent solo queue teammates.

The SBMM system IS NOT matching me will players of similar skill level - not even close. It's completely random, and I won't believe otherwise unless BHVR starts posting our MMR scores after matches. The system is shrouded in secrecy, and I believe the reason why is because if the data were made public, it would reveal what many of us already know: the system does not work at all. If the devs want us to have trust in the SBMM system, then prove to us that it is working as intended.

I have recently moved to a country where there is constant loss of power every so often throughout the week. How is something I don’t have control over giving me a penalty for “DC’ing”… got to have some sort of workaround for this type of stuff cause I don’t intentionally mean to DC but getting penalized for it doesn’t seem right.

You are constantly ruining other people's games, even if it's not intentional. That's why you're getting DC penalties.

I think this change is BAD for the game overall, if not very bad, because:

    • It doesn't solve camping really.
    • It makes the anti camp mechanic stronger with no rebalancement of it.
    • If makes tunneling even more necessary.
    • It doesn't solve killers wanting to tunnel.
    • It doesn't give killers an incentive to split hooks, and the best strategy still remains to kill a survivor into a 3v1 ASAP.
    • It gives survivors MUCH much time to just let the survivor hang there, and finish gens.
    • It gives much more times to, after doing a gen, go for a trade last second and always be fine.
    • Hook trading now is VERY strong for survivors, because of how much times it gives.
    • It punishes low/mid tier killers a lot, where strong/S tier killers don't get affected much.

Splitting hooks will always be a guaranteed loss unless gen times are increased. It's a matter of simple math. Unless survivors are intentionally not doing their objective, there is no mathematically possible way to win if you're trying to spread hooks evenly. It's especially impossible against coordinated SWF teams.

There must be a killer that all of you really dislike. Which killer do you not like and why?

    Let's chat about it.

Skull Merchant because that is really the only universally correct answer.

Also, Chucky (always get free hits when he is in stealth and I can't figure out how to counter this) and Pinhead (guaranteed win against solo queue)

  • No. I didn't like either of these game modes. I'd much rather have 2v8 come back instead.

  • If everyone else is having the same experience as you, then the overall kill rates will go down below the target 60% and devs will make appropriate adjustments. If the overall kill rates are still around 60%, then your below-average escape rate is a skill issue, matchmaking issue, or just a run of bad luck.

  • Use lightborn or dodge lobbies if you see a bunch of flashlights. Two very easy solutions to your problem that don't ruin the game for everyone else.

  • The biggest problem for solo queue is the ridiculously terrible MMR scoring system that uses escapes as the SOLE DEFINING INDICATOR OF YOUR SKILL. It boggles my mind that we can't use the whole emblem system, which has other elements that correlate highly with being good at looping, not being a useless teammate, etc. If we had a halfway-functioning MMR scoring system and matchmaking system, at least there would be some hope in solo queue that if you play well, even if you don't escape, you will eventually get matched with non-useless teammates. With the current system, it's especially difficult for good solo queue players to increase their MMR scores because they so often get matched with terrible teammates and have no chance of escaping, no matter how good these poor solo queue players are.

There should also be an option for you to not be matched with a certain percentile below your MMR score. Make it a check box in the options that says you are willing to wait for longer queues to avoid being matched with other players way below your skills level.

  • If you're going to engage them in the endgame chat and call them a "bully squad", then you shouldn't be surprised when they respond back. What are they supposed to say ? "Yeah, you're right. We are a bully squad and we're very sorry. We won't ever play that way again"

Just say "ggs" and move on. Anything more than that in the endgame chat and it's guaranteed to turn toxic. The best solution here would be for BHVR to remove the endgame chat feature because it's 99% toxic crap like this and serves no other purpose.

  • People should be able to play the game however they want, within the rules. What you consider "unfun" is probably considered "fun" by someone else. Killers have playstyles that are unfun for survivors, and survivors have playstyles that are unfun for killers. If we are going to get rid of one unfun playstyle, then it's only fair to get rid of them all.

  • Don't cheaters get hardware banned? If so, doesn't that prevent the problem of just reinstalling the game on a different account? Same hardware is being used, right? Unless there is an easy way around HW bans, it seems like that should solve the problem of hackers using multiple accounts to circumvent bans.

  • After playing only 1 game against him so far (I've been playing killer mostly lately because it's just going to be the same killer non-stop in survivor matches for the next few weeks), I can say I agree with this assessment. He seems pretty weak against survivors who know what they're doing and/or are coordinated on comms.

But honestly this is true for most of the killer lineup. Any killer who doesn't have strong map mobility AND good anti-loop power is going to struggle mightily against good teams, especially when they are coordinated. This isn't a problem with the killers - it's a problem with game balance in general.

  • Thanks for posting. Until these comments/guidelines are added to the game rules, I don't think it's fair to ban people for "holding the game hostage" because they may have no idea what that means. It's unfair to ban people for something that is mentioned deep in an old forum post somewhere.

I don't see a problem with putting a time limit on the definitions. I would suggest making it 1 minute for body blocking and 5 minutes for not touching generators. I can't think of any examples of how those time limits could be circumvented to avoid getting in trouble for them.

A better solution to the survivors holding game hostage is to add a mechanic that reveals survivors after a certain period of inactivity. There's no good reason to not add this to the game and it's very frustrating that the devs still haven't done it despite being a problem in the game for years and MANY forum posts from frustrated killer players on the topic.

  • I challenge anyone who is complaining about "proxy camping" to post a video of your gameplay as killer and show us how easy it is to with without ever using this strategy. Post 10 consecutive matches, not cherry-picking single matches against potato survivors where you got 12 hooks with 3 gens left. Unless you can show that winning is consistently possible without ever doing it, then maybe put yourself in the other side's shoes and understand why they are doing it before complaining about it on the forum.

  • There still needs to be better definition around what constitutes "holding the game hostage". Maybe I missed it (someone please post if it exists somewhere), but I have never seen the devs clearly define what actions are considered "holding the game hostage" and it seems unfair to have something that subjective be a banable offense. Just make a bullet point list of things that would be included like:

    • Killer body blocking survivor that prevents free movement of survivor for X number of seconds
    • Survivors not progressing generators for X number of minutes
    • Survivors abusing map bugs to be unreachable by killer for X number of seconds
    • Other examples (I think the three above are by far the most common situations) with actual quantifiable definitions so that it's not such a gray area
  • Seems like most people are happy with this change and agree it is a net positive for the game. I agree with the points about making it easier for P100 players to use their characters without having to wait while killer after killer dodges. Thanks for the input, everyone!

I have seen mods in this very forum say hiding at the end of the game is not reportable, so it seems there is some mixed messaging on that. It seems kind of weird for that to be reportable anyway because new players would break that rule all the time without knowing. I cant imagine someone actually being banned for hiding to prevent being killed in a game where that is the goal. If 2 survivors are left the best chance to escape is wait for the other one to die and get hatch. So essentially you want to force the survivors to do an action they know will cause them to lose. I thought everyone says "play how you want, camp, tunnel, slug, you're not responsible for anyone else's fun." But its different when its the survivor playing in an annoying way I guess, hmmm. I mean it seems sort of like a skill issue to me if you cant find the hiding survivors within 45 minutes or whatever.

I disagree with you that survivors should be able extend the game indefinitely to avoid losing. Survivors have the ability to hold the game hostage (meaning extending it indefinitely), but killers do not. That's not fair to killer players or to other survivors on the team that just want to move on to the next match without a DC penalty.

However, I do agree with you that the definition about what constitutes "holding the game hostage" has not been made clear by the devs. In the game rules, it just says that "holding the game hostage" is a reportable offense. Fully agree that needs to be more clearly defined and the devs need to add those clear definitions to the posted game rules.

Wait this is what I use to record matches too. So I guess I can't report cheaters now either.

    Recording still works

  • Yes, but I have newer hardware so it's not too bad. But I definitely notice a difference compared to before the update. This happens with every single patch, so it's no surprise. It would just be nice if the devs could give us an explanation for why the performance tanks with every single patch.

On the positive side, at least no game-breaking bugs yet?

  • Honestly I'm fine with most of the perks being useless. It makes the game much more bearable for casual players like myself who actually have other responsibilities in life other than playing DbD all day every day. It's nice that I don't have to spend hours a day studying and learning all the perks and how to use them counter them - I only have to learn a smaller pool of the most frequently used perks. I hope it stays this way. The game is already overwhelming enough for new and casual players who can't keep up with the constant torrent of new content.

This type of gameplay cannibalizes the experience for most people, it shouldn't be part of the game, it just isn't fun no matter what.

If a killer wants to, they can completely kill the enjoyment of the game for you and decide to tunnel you, the only solution i see to completely end this toxic gameplay is to give the normal gamemode the 2v8 treatment, and make it so killers cant see hooked survivors and they get teleported randomly around the map.

No its not a viable strategy, its a toxic harmful playstyle that does nothing but make the game look bad. Remember that Twitch Tournament for DBD that a disaster?

Let's see you win games against good survivors without any camping or tunneling. Please show us how it's done.

  • I would recommend that you get better internet (if possible) before returning to PvP online games. The matchmaking ban is there for a reason - so repeat disconnectors don't repeatedly ruin games for other people. It's not fair to all the other players in your matches to keep getting their matches ruined because of your disconnections.

  • Meh - I didn't like either of those game modes, so I'm going to skip them. I loved 2v8 and most looking forward to the return of that one.

  • Can the devs please address the 2 v 1 standoff issue at some point? At least tell us whether or not there are any plans to ever address the problem of survivors hiding and refusing to touch gens. Yes I know these players can be reported, but that obviously has not done anything to deter people from doing it because I still see it happen frequently in my matches (just had another occurrence of this today). It really should not be difficult or time-consuming at all to put some sort of mechanic in the game to prevent/discourage this and it would be a huge quality of life improvement for killer players.

  • "Tunneling from every killer every match" - sorry, I don't believe this for a second. Yes, I see killers tunneling sometimes (actual, legit tunneling), but I've never seen it more than maybe a couple matches in a row and in my experience it is less than half of my matches. Maybe somebody can share their unedited stream of 10+ matches in a row where there's real actual tunneling (and not "killer didn't spread hooks evenly = tunneling") and then I will believe that it's actually possible to see in literally every match.

"The player base already in the game is leaving & quitting due to these & other issues" - what data do you have to support this? The only publicly available data we have is Steamcharts, and that shows a healthy and stable player count.

Finally, what solutions do you propose here? Tunneling and camping are valid strategies (validated by the devs MANY times) and they are sometimes required to have a chance at winning a match, especially when survivors are coordinating on comms. Yes, sometimes killers do these things when they don't need to, but nerfing/punishing these tactics will only make the game more miserable for killer players who sometimes need to employ these tactics to have a chance to win. If you play really play killer like you claim you do, I would think you would understand this.

I've made a few posts in the forums lately & I've brought up this particular topic a little & have made a post in the past. I'm quite active on dbd at the moment. Tonight's session has seen two killers who are expert tunnelers, a Freddy & a Nemesis. Edit (I don't mean these killer characters are good at tunneling I mean the players I was against)

Here's where this topic already gets people mad, "entitled survivor" hates "playstyle" & the "only option" for killers. I'm not trying to get a rise, this isn't bait (usual conclusion people come to onk their own).

I play my portion of both sides, of course play survivor more I'll be honest, that said I'm not ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE AMAZE BALLS at either, I have my moments with each. That said, both are still relative, you can have silly survivor teammates or troll teammates. Survivor also seems to be full of teammates quitting, either on first hook (maybe a bad session) or because a killer is tunneling most notably.

The arguments are always "get good" & "it's only a game" or as already mentioned "it's a playstyle" & "it's our only option as killers" again we're not talking about SWF being too OP we're talking about solo q or just no comms teams against killers that tunnel people out from the start. I've seen loads about it recently, many great points as well, here's my take (not that anyone asked).

Camping has been given counters & can be countered if the team was smart enough anyway, strong perks are strong perks, how you use them & how annoying they may be is the state of the meta the combos/synergy & even who's using them, while we could argue the state of survivor perks that's not the issue. Both sides have their priority perks as it were. Slug-ing is annoying but is completely on the killer to get to to pay off for them, it's tough to go against but much like camping it is relatively counterable. Tunneling however is the major & greatest issue in dbd. Both as an in game threat & an actual player base threat.

I say it a lot but getting tunneled back to back to back is infuriating & isn't a case of get better at the game, "suck less" & isn't a case of "find your own fun in dbd then" you paid to play a game & spend most of your time not playing & in the lobby. That's not fun & will make plenty wish for a refund if they're new. That's where the biggest issue lies, the new players will be joining dbd at the worst state of it. Tunneling from every killer every game, no chance at escape & could just keep happening. The player base already in the game is leaving & quitting due to these & other issues, new players won't even want to bother. It's a shame it really is & is something over all that needs addressing, I thought maybe it'd be an idea to make an in game penalty to BP for immediately downing & hooking a survivor you just did. But maybe there's a better actual way of preventing it entirely, granted I don't know what & don't know if that's healthy but that's because I see both sides. I get why you need to sometimes, not right out the gate, start of the game there's no need. If the game isn't going the way you need for the win, at that point of course I get it. At the end of the day survivors are the players the killer goes after, if we destroy the player base & make it impossible for survivors & keep causing them to just not play & tunnel them out game after game eventually you could say we'd lose the only reason the killers are able to play. Yes okay bots exist now but a full lobby of bots, really? The survivors not being there means there's no game to play realistically.

I honestly don't know what else I can say. It's just genuinely the most damaging problem to dbd as a whole I fear. Good luck in the fog everyone.

"Tunneling from every killer every game" - I don't believe that for a second. I believe there is tunneling sometimes, but not literally every single game. I'm not going to believe this unless someone shows me their continuous stream of games (unedited) where literally every single game for 10 games in a row someone is tunneled out (actual tunneling, not "killer didn't hook every survivor evenly = tunneling")

"The player base already in the game is leaving & quitting due to these & other issues" - what data do you have to prove this? The other available data we have for player count is Steamcharts, which currently shows a healthy and stable player count.

Also, what solutions do you propose here? Camping and tunneling are valid tactics (validated by the devs MANY times) that are sometimes required for killers to secure any kills in a game. Yes, some killers camp and tunnel when they don't need to, but nerfing/punishing these strategies only makes the game more difficult and miserable for killer players when they legitimately need to use them to have a chance at winning a match. If you really do play killer side like you claim you do, I would think that you would understand this.

  • @supersonic853 said:

Might be a weird title. But it's the best I could come up with with 2 gens left on red forest with 2 survivors not touching either for over 30 minutes as I walked around looking for them. I don't know if they were using items to prevent themselves from ever getting crows since the one I did find was in a corner away from everything else. Now I get it 2 gens with 2 survivors is probably not the easiest to come back from. But I did not play in a way that could be perceived really as unfair. First survivor I downed just wanted to go next (like usual). And the 2 survivors let their other teammate die on hook I guess because he wasn't grouped with them or something. So to spite me for some reason, they just hard stealth. I get it's reportable eventually but it's fairly boring when it happens. It could be nice to have something where if a survivor doesn't do over 10% of a gen for like 5 minutes or something they get max AFK crows until they actually work on a gen for long enough. Other ideas I've seen is aura reveal or Killer instinct. Just something that says the "hiding" has gone on long enough lol. It's like the opposite of 3 genning since the survivors don't even plan to do the gens. They are just keeping you here as long as they can.

Anyone else have a stance on this and what it could look like?

This problem has been discussed on the forum many times over the years and the devs (as far as I know) have never addressed it. Apparently it's not a priority, so I wouldn't hold your breath and expect that a solution will come anytime soon.

  • I've been getting matched with very new / low-skilled players in 2v8 on both the killer and survivor side. I made another forum comment recently about how awful some of the survivor teammates have been in my matches. Similar to what you are seeing - teammates hiding and doing nothing, not staying on gens when they can clearly see that the killers are busy chasing someone else, getting downed in 5 seconds because they have no idea how to loop, etc. SBMM is definitely non-functional in this mode and you're getting matched with brand-new players (or maybe they have been playing for a long time and are still really bad at the game).

I still really enjoy the 2v8 mode, but I would absolutely be willing to have a longer survivor queue time if it means actually getting matched with other players of similar skill level.

Another (maybe even bigger) part of the issue is how the calculated skill level remains solely based on kills and escapes - don't even get me started on how flawed that system is.

  • @TheWheelOfCheese said:

I don't believe SBMM works at all. I've seen no evidence presented that it actually functions in any sane way, other than Peanits claiming that it's working as intended, and of course not providing any statistics or anything.

At this point I've exhausted my "benefit of the doubt" supply on the developers. I don't believe anything they say at this point unless they provide some form of evidence to back it up.

I agree that SBMM is effectively non-functional. I've had so many times where I will lose, either as killer or survivor, and then in the next match just get completely stomped. Or the other way around - I will win, and then next match win even easier. It seems completely random and I think it seems that way because in reality it is completely random.

Here's what I think is really happening: the SBMM system exists, but there aren't enough players in the pool most of the time to make it work well AND give you short queue times. The only way to make the system work well when the player pool is smaller is to increase queue times, and BHVR aren't willing to do that because longer queue times means more people leaving the game, and that's the last thing they want. So shorter queue times gets the priority and that means expanding the MMR range for matching players to the point where it is effectively meaningless.

Of course, I could easily be proven wrong if the devs would show MMR scores in the game (just show in the scoreboard after each match), but I don't think that's ever going to happen. The excuse is "we don't want players to know their MMR scores so they don't intentionally tank it" is not a legitimate one - players can do that whether or not they know their MMR scores. I think the real reason they don't want to show MMR scores is because it will reveal what I stated above to be true - that the system effectively does not work because of how wide the MMR ranges need to be to allow for short queue times.

  • Like others on this thread have said, I don't think this is a legitimate concern. To me this seems like a thinly-veiled attempt to undermine the FNAF partnership without starting a thread that violates the forum rules.

  • @mecca said:

Definitely No. It's not a game actually, it is a survivor abusing experience. It's fun as killer but it's boring of how easy it is. You are forced to not play because of the extreme imbalances and survivor is very much like going to the dentist or rubbing sand in your eyes. It's terrible and that shows very much in the queues.

I don't think killer is easy at all. Can you post some of your gameplay to show us how easy it is?

  • @mikaaareid said:

I’m sure if you play only as killer you are. Survivors not so much. Here are some reasons why the game is not fun anymore for survivors.

    1. The only way for survivors to escape from the killers are pallets and perks. Survs gets hit through pallets and windows, if the killer is lagged, wow, getting hit from miles way is a laughter situation. There are not enough pallets in maps and maps are currently filled and filled with dead zones. So, if survs don’t have pallets or perks we go down. Going through windows we get hit or down, no matter how far we are on the other side. We get hit or down through pallets while stunning the killer and being on the other side. Hitbox is just horrible, it doesn’t exist 99% of times.
    2. We don’t have good perks anymore. There’ no metas because there are no perks that are good anymore. The ones that were good were nerfed and are now dead. If we play without perks is the same thing as playing with them. Killers on the other hand have perks for EVERTHING! Gens, auras, noeds, whatever, they have everything. We can’t even hide anymore because they see auras 95% of the time. The fun is basically a game of hide and seek, which it was when the game began 8 years ago. It’s not that anymore. You can stand still on the far corner of the map and the killer will still find you. Good luck, right?
    3. So, when survs don’t have speed, perks, pallets, hitbox, killers have perks with instadowns, bloodlust, teleportations, long distance itens or powers while being 3 times faster than survs. While survs have what? Exhaustation for minutes on end if we use an exhaustion perk. I don’t even use it anymore, I’m going down either way. The killer will catch up in a matter of seconds.
    4. Toxic killers that tunnels til death while having 5 gens. Survs don’t have perks good enough for anti-tunneling anymore because the game is pro tunneling, it must be. Killers leaving survs to die of bleeding out while humping their bodies. There is no option to just “give up” while being on the ground. We are obligaded to watch and wait for MINUTES! All of this because toxic people want to show how good they are, while having extra speed, perks, add-ons and instadowns.
    5. If you have any fun on this game is when playing killer or sometimes surv with friends. Solo queues are just unplayeable, which most surv players play. I don’t have friends that can play with me for hours on end, which leaves me to solo queues most of the time. After I die an anough amount of times I just give up. Behaviour it seems doesn’t care about survs anymore, everything is killer sided. The only good perks we had got nerfed and killers are only getting buffed in all updates I see. It’s a shame really, because I like the characters, the mechanics of the game, but I don’t see Behaviour doing much.
    6. If I’m a survivor I will do everything I can to survive, so why deadhard, DS and other perks got nerfed? We have more than 50 survivors, triple the perks and only 1% are usable right now. It’s really sad indeed.

Now, name one thing, one thing at all that benefit survs? You’ll get a prize! :)

Why don't you try playing killer before you make posts like this?

I'm not a great survivor player and have escaped well more than half of my matches. You might be the only one who is having this terrible of an experience.

The biggest problem I have had is that team mates don't do gens, it really is as simple as that.

Apparently killers can now chase 3 survivors each at a time, at least I would be led to believe this as why else would someone not be on a gen if they are not being chased?

It's one of the things that does my head in with this mode - useless team mates. Also, being double teamed by killers when 1v1 they individually could not down me is a feelsbadman.

Yes, I've seen a much higher % of useless teammates in 2v8 mode compared to normal 1v4 matches as well. So many players running for cover at the slightest hint of a heartbeat, even if the status indicators are showing other people being chased.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe 2v8 is using SBMM, so you could be a super good 5,000 hour player and be getting thrown in with people who are literally brand new to the game. Not that SBMM works for regular 1v4 mode, but at least I don't seem to be getting thrown in with brand new players as often in regular mode.

  • I haven't kept close track, but I'd say that at least 60% of my 2v8 matches have had 5-8 escapes (I've only played as survivor - ain't gonna wait in 30 minute queues to play killer). It seems heavily survivor-sided to me. And this is with most of the players in my matches being solo queue. Sure, there are probably 1 out of 3 matches where the survivors go down instantly after being found or most of the team refuses to touch gens or the killers are very skilled and coordinating via comms, but the other 2 out of 3 matches have been very difficult for the killers.

Will be very interested to see any kill rate stats from the devs on this game mode. Is anyone else escaping only 1/3 of their 2v8 matches? I consider myself an OK, not great, survivor player, and am escaping most of my matches. I can't believe very many players are having as rough of a time as the OP is.

  • The game is an absolute nightmare for new players now. I was saying this several years ago, and the amount of content has doubled since then. There are just WAY too many perks and killer power to learn how to use/counter. I really wish BHVR would take a break from cranking out new content, but it ain't gonna happen - it's what pays the bills. It would be very interesting to see how many new players continue playing the game after a month compared to a few years ago. If I was a new player now, I don't think I'd have the time/dedication to stick with it.

  • When you create a thread like this, you need to remember that there is a huge % of the total player base who 1) has never even attempted to play killer; or 2) maybe tried playing as killer a few times and probably got destroyed, then went back to playing exclusively survivor.

This is why you get so many comments about how "killers can easily win without ever camping or tunneling" or "it's a skill issue". 95% of these comments are from people who never, ever play killer. They have no idea how difficult it is to beat a skilled team (even if they aren't 4-man SWF), nor do they care to ever try to put themselves in your shoes.

I always offer a challenge to anyone claiming how easy it is to win consistently without ever camping or tunneling to post some of their gameplay video to show us all how it's done (or better yet, link to stream so we can see their unedited gameplay), and not a single commenter has ever done so. Shocking, right?

Because I enjoyed this game drastically more in the past before a lot of the killer buffs and map reworks. And yes I did play killer for awhile but I got bored of it after the tenth game in a row where I killed everyone before the final gen, switched up to scratch mirror myers after that and it was fun and I did actually lose a few games playing like that where I only got like two kills.

Either way your argument is simply wrong, in the past killers were much weaker but people still played them. And sure I'd take killer bots at this point. I think it would be genuinely more enjoyable to play since it would improve variety of killers and builds since you can see more than the same four or five killers every match.

Like… dude, I'm sorry but when there's tons of killer mains that are getting thousands+ winstreaks there's no real argument that can change my mind that killers are not broken and are in need of serious rebalancing.

"Tons of killer mains that are getting thousands+ winstreaks?" If you really believe that's true (it's not), then yeah I guess no arguments are going to change your mind.

  • I disagree that BHVR don't care if the players have a good experience. I believe that they do (in general, of course I can't speak for every single person who works there). But I would guess that most of the BHVR employees genuinely do care.

I think the problem is more linked to complacency due to lack of competition. Give credit to BHVR, they are the only game in town when it comes to good asymmetrical horror games, and they deserve the rewards they get from the hard work they put into it. But the lack of competition means that they really have no incentive to quickly fix things that are broken. People don't stop playing the game or spending money on it, even when there are game-breaking bugs. OP - you're a prime example of this based on what you said. If players were fleeing to another game in droves due to game-breaking bugs, I think things would be handled quite differently and with more urgency.

  • @Sarrif - dude, what's the deal with your crusade against killer players? Honest question for you - do you play killer at all? If "no", then maybe you should and you might just get a little bit of perspective. Literally every single one of your past posts has been about how OP killers are and how they need to be nerfed into the ground. If the devs did everything you want, including this terrible idea you are suggesting in this post, nobody would play killer and the devs would have to replace human killer players with bots. Is that what you want?

it made big difference.aka nobody runs it. Now survivor just complain about franklin demise+weaving attunement.

Yeah, I agree. I rarely see it anymore. But that doesn't mean it was nerfed to the ground. True balance means that all perks should be seen rarely since there a so friggin' many of them now.

  • The division is caused by people who refuse to play killer or survivor and don't play both roles. You all know who you are. You are the ones who are always posting "killer is OP" or "survivor is OP" stuff. If you don't play one side or the other, you have no idea how the things you are suggesting to make the game more fun for you (for instance, the post where someone suggested that the gen bug should be a feature) will make the game more miserable for the other side. If you don't play both roles consistently, I cannot take your opinions seriously.

  • Some people like to play stealthy, and that's fine. As long as they are doing gens, unhooking/healing survivors, looping killers when they are being chased and other things to help the team win, who cares?
