  • I don't have any insight into the inner workings of BHVR or their business decisions, but I would have to guess that they are only going to spend money on servers where there is enough player demand to be worth the investment. Servers cost money to purchase and maintain, and if revenues from players don't cover those costs, then BHVR isn't going to be in business very long.

So this is simply a business decision. Just because BHVR doesn't want to lose money on by investing in servers in a particular region doesn't mean they don't the respect people that live there. To claim that they don't respect or value Arabs is honestly a form of emotional blackmail and kind of gross.

You can see their ping in the game now, just disconnect.

The pings need to be visible in lobbies. Seeing pings in the game is useless because if you want to get out because of a killer abusing VPN, YOU get punished with a DC penalty instead of the person who actually deserves punishment which would be the VPN abuser. As I said earlier, this issue has been a very common complaint from players for years, but the devs have never talked about it and AFAIK they have no plans to do anything about it. Very disappointing.

  • You didn't read the forum rules before posting this, did you?

  • Something other than bloodpoints would be more effective. Skins, shards, just about anything else. BP incentives never seems to work well. For players like me who have all the perks/items they need and don't really care about prestige level, the BP incentives are really no motivation at all.

sounds like you're not actually playing dead by daylight but you're letting the game play for you. change the way you play if you'd like a challenge

More likely: OP is simply trolling and doesn't actually play killer. This happens often on these forums

MMR is beyond broken. I went up against a SWF with 10.9k, 9.2k, 7k, and 5k hours. I absolutely cooked them and then my next match I checked a players profile and to my disbelief they had around 150 hours. The other 3 had 2k, 3k and 500 hours

Yep. this kind of thing happens to me all the time. The devs can tell us all they want that there is a functioning SBMM system, but my eyes aren't lying to me about what I see match after match after match.

  • There is a very simple explanation. SBMM doesn't work. You are simply paired with the next person waiting in the queue regardless of their MMR score.

  • @DeBecker said:

"Truth" by Biased Killer. Its kind amazing how poeple talk about truth and ignore 80% of its logic.

How do you know the OP is a "biased killer"? You are ASSUMING THINGS and I know how much you hate it when other people do that

  • I suspect incentives are broken, as usual. I've never seen no incentive for survivor, but have seen only 50% quite a lot in the past couple of days. Killer queues are still ridiculous long and survivor queues still instant, so I have no idea why the incentive is ever anything less than the max 250%

  • For the most part this is an accurate assessment of the state of the game. Honest people who play both sides will agree with a lot of this. I respect this kind of objective opinion far more than those from people who come here and claim that killers are OP and need to be nerfed because they can easily 4K/12hook every match no camping/no tunneling ever, without ever offering any evidence that they actually play killer at all.

  • There's nothing in the new chapter that I really care about. This is just yet more content that is going to make the game even more overwhelming for new players (and even long-term casual players like myself) to learn all the different killer powers and perks. My ideal future for this game is less new killers/perks and more new modes/new mechanics/items within existing modes and finding some other way to generate revenue besides cranking out new killers/perks every 3 months.

  • The devs purposely made 2v8 more survivor-sided to encourage more survivors to play and discourage too many killers from playing. That's all you need to know to understand why the balance of this mode is the way it is. I don't know why people keep coming onto the forum to complain about it or ask why it's so survivor-sided. There's no mystery to solve here.

I play both killer and survivor equally in normal mode, but for 2v8 I've been playing exclusively survivor due to the instant queue times and have been having fun because of how easy most games are to win.

  • @GeneralV said:

Honestly I would leave it as it is. After experiencing this perk while it was meta it is safe to say I don't want to ever see it again.

Agree. It was quite OP in its original state which is why you would see it in just about every match. Now it's much more balanced.

  • @Marioneo said:

Ok what the heck is wrong with most survivors in this mode? 9/10 matches these survivors have never looped or gotten into a chase or done a gen into their lives.

Is this nothing but new players? Like what is going on they can't even do 1v1 chases or healing.

No wonder Survivors are saying this mode is balanced cause of the Awful Teammates are dragging them so far down

I think the 2v8 mode brings in a lot of casual players who don't play very often. I've seen in nearly every match survivors that get downed almost immediately after chase starts (and not because they are getting double-teamed). You're very lucky if you have more than 1-2 survivors who know how to properly loop and counter killer powers

  • @christianrichards26 said:

As everyone knows, 2v8 killer queues have been abysmal since the mode was created. (im sitting a queue while writing this lol) I think BHVR should adopt a system that Overwatch use to have called priority passes. If a survivor ESCAPES anywhere between 1-3 matches in 2v8, they should be given a priority pass when they go to play killer that bumps them to the front of the queue. I think the survivor should have to escape so that people don't just go into a survivor game and throw in order to get passes. This would 100% encourage more people to play survivor and force them to take it seriously. As someone who has probably played anywhere between 75-100 matches, I only think it's fair that a player who refuses to touch survivor has to wait longer than people who are helping address the problem. What are your guys thoughts?

Fully agree. This would be a good way to help encourage more people to play survivor in 2v8

Can you do anything besides assuming and mistreating words?

I didn't assume or mistreat any of your words. I just asked you two questions: 1) are you (in your previous comment that I referenced) saying that Nurse is easy to play; and 2) if so, is that based on your own experience?

  • @CountOfTheFog said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3841954#Comment_3841954

I don't think that's a good incentive. You'll just have people who want to play Killer throw themselves at the Killers in Survivor Queue to get the required Survivor matches over with.

Yeah, that could happen I suppose. Maybe something fun and incentivizing instead like "top 3 finish in a survivor game gets you one priority killer queue pass" or something like that to encourage the person to actually try

  • I don't know where all these complaints about slugging in 2v8 are coming from because I haven't seen it at all. If someone does get slugged, they usually get picked up pretty quickly and healed and then that's just wasted time for the killers who made no progress towards their objective. I've been having a blast playing survivor in 2v8 mode. Most of my matches have been very easy survivor wins - definitely way easier than normal 1v4 mode.

  • How do you know BHVR has no plans to address the killer queues? This is only the 2nd time they've done this - they're still figuring it out. Obviously the incentives to play survivor in 2v8 are not enough and they're going to have to do more. A couple things have been suggested:

    1. Iri shards. These are typically much more desirable than BP
    2. If you play a match (or x number of matches) as survivor, you get put into some sort of priority queue system where you can "cut in line" in the killer queue.

We'll just have to wait and see what BHVR comes up with. I'm sure they're hearing plenty of feedback about it.

So difficult that playing her for 50+ games means you can go against 90% of all players.

So are you saying she's not difficult to play? Is that based on your own personal experience?

  • I don't know why anyone would subject themselves to these ridiculously long killer queue times, especially given how survivor-sided this event is. Apparently killers weren't nerfed enough because there are still too many people who want to play the killer side!

Some have suggested iri shards to help incentivize more people to play survivor during the event. People really don't seem to care that much about crazy high BP incentives. I think it would help a lot, but of course BHVR gets worried about losing revenue for cosmetics once they start handing out shards, so it's not a simple business decision.

  • I love going against Billy. I haven't had any issues going against Billy in 2v8. He still has the same counters that make him easy to evade in 1v4 if you know what you're doing. Use windows and try to force him to curve around obstacles. If he happens to be a god-level Billy who can curve around anything, tip your cap to him and move on. Fortunately, Billy players with that level of skill are pretty rare. Most of the time they'll bump into something with their saw a few times and then give up on the chase. He's only strong against survivors who don't know how to properly counter him.

My killrate in 1v4 isn't really relevant to this conversation and there was no need to make this discussion an us vs. them. But here we are.

I think I'm done here, I have nothing to add that you won't directly rebuff.

OP has a long history of claiming how easy killer side is, but I have never seen them post any of their gameplay to prove it. There are quite a few people on this forum who claim they "4K almost every match". I guess they are the top players in the world then because I have watched a lot of pro streamers who play 18 hours a day and even they don't 4K consistently.

  • 2v8 feels better for you because it's WAY more survivor-sided than 1v4. I played about 10 2v8 matches yesterday and failed to escape once, only because both killers camped me together and prevented closely teammates from unhooking me. I was their only kill.

Everybody is going to have a different opinion about what is "survivor-sided" or "killer-sided". The only thing that really matters is the player count and the survivor-to-killer ratio. If player counts are staying stable or increasing and there are still plenty of killer players willing to play 2v8, then everyone is happy and no reason to adjust either side.

  • First day was pretty rough as about half of my matches had lots of teammates that did absolutely nothing and refused to touch gens. Today has been completely different. Every match has had 1—2 kills at the most and playing as survivor has felt insanely easy. I died once, and only because both killers camped me and kept teammates from rescuing me. They really overbuffed survivors for this 2v8 and I feel very bad for the killer players who are helpless as gens fly left and right. Reducing the gen speed buffs a bit I think would put things into a much better balance. I guess killer plays don't seem to mind though as the killer queue times are still very long.

I really wish BHVR would post live stats and make adjustments to gens speeds maybe once per day as the kill rates go up and down to keep better competitive balance.

maybe it’s just me, but it’s really throwing me off when trying to run away when I’m hearing terror radiuses for killers that aren’t even in the match. I just had a match with deathslinger and blight and the deathslinger came towards our gen with trappers terror radius. Then another time I kept hearing bubbas terror radius for blight. Was this intentional? Obviously I know bubba isn’t in the 2v8 mode but when I’m trying to quietly get away and hearing trapper TR I’m looking at the ground for traps and getting sniped by deathslinger.

The Mode is so unfun and trash as Killer its the perfect Bully Simulator for Survivor the Gens are way to fast u cant even hold it whit a Good Blight and Nurse

When u are a Survivor Main and u arent to good to escape in the normal Modus this Modus is perfect for you escaping in this Modus is so freaking easy u dont need any Skill

Im just playing it for the Tome Challanges and never going to Touch it again

The Funny thing there are still Survivor Mains who say this Modus is Killer Sided 🤷🏻‍♀️

This hasn't been my experience at all. I've been playing survivor in 2v8 mode so far (because I don't want to wait in long queues to play killer) and most of my teammates have been completely useless potatoes. Running around not doing gens and getting downed immediately after chases start. My success rate escaping hasn't been much better than typical solo queue 1v4 games.

  • I've played like 6 matches so far and none of them were lopsided survivor victories. Just as with the previous run of 2v8 mode, this run has pulled in a bunch potato survivor players who run around doing nothing for most of the match and then get downed about 5 seconds after they start getting chased. I think killers are going to be fine if my initial matches are any indication.

During the last 2v8 both modes had 15 min queues times for killer…Like right now yeah queues are fine but after tomorrow when 2v8 starts back up the queue time for Killer will most likely be 15mins again just last time. Trust I remember very well that I had to wait between 15 to 20 mins just for a normal 1v4 match during the last 2v8. I stop playing after few night of only getting like 5 matches bc the wait times was so bad.

Ah I see - you're talking about queue times for normal mode while the 2v8 mode is active. That makes more sense now. Normally, when 2v8 mode is not active, I have super fast queues for killer in the evenings.

  • I mean yeah the devs clearly hate survivors because they nerfed a perk that gave survivors teams free unlimited healing that only required a single perk slot for one of the 4 survivors. That was so much fun for M1 killers to deal with.

I'm on EST and my queue time was no where instance at the times I usually play at which are anyway between 9pm to 11pm. I experienced 15min wait times for both modes pretty much. 2v8 was little faster but I hated playing the mode with randoms as killer so I mostly stayed with normal mode.

Something doesn't sound right here if you are playing US eastern time zone. 9-11 PM is peak SWF time and in my 6 years of playing I've NEVER had more than like a minute of wait time for killer during those hours. I'm talking about normal mode, not 2v8. I mean, just now to test it I queued up for killer a few times and it took 20 seconds or less each time to get into a lobby.

I believe that you had long waits for 2v8, as queue times for killer were always super long no matter what time of day.

  • @TotemsCleanser said:

If you make it so that new accounts need a minimum number of comments before they can create a discussion they'll just spam every discussion with random nonsense just to build up their comment number and be able to post.

Yes but at least it would offer some level of deterrent as it takes some time and effort to do that. A time limit in addition to the comment limit would be even more effective. Something like a week before you can create your first topic thread seems reasonable to me.

  • What time are you playing and in what time zone? My killer queues are nearly instant in the evenings - US eastern time zone. Killer queues are definitely longer if you're playing during "off-peak" times like mornings and early afternoon when people are working/in school and less likely to be playing SWF

So, how many times i have to tell you to do something besides assuming something on other people?

You could easily prove me wrong by posting video of your killer gameplay. You always claim how easy it is to 4K as killer so there should be no shortage of clips for you to choose from.

  • There are a couple very easy solutions to the problem:

    1. Have moderators on the weekends. Hell, I'll volunteer to help for free if they let me :)
    2. A probationary period where new accounts cannot start new posts until after a certain time period AND a certain number of comments without breaking any forum rules.

As long as the mods allow brand new accounts to post at will and don't do any moderation on the weekends/holidays, this problem will continue.

  • BP incentives have been broken for quite a while now. Apparently it's not a priority to fix.

  • Despite this issue having been brought up many, many times on the forum, the devs have (to my knowledge) never mentioned it, so I assume they are never going to do anything about it.

  • I find it always true - event outside of the events - that wandering around the map to do whatever when you know there are survivors waiting in the exit gate to teabag you is the best way to get them to leave ASAP. You handle them like an immature child trying to get attention - they will quickly get bored when you ignore them. The event was nice because there were a lot of ways to get more BP while wandering the map in endgame.

I honestly find this very hard to believe. It's been a very, very long time since I've seen an obvious cheater. If it's happening this frequently, why don't you record you matches so 1) you can report and 2) show us some examples and the forum members can help determine if people really are cheating based on your video evidence.

I would have liked a bit more like a buff to tier 3 such as breaking pallets faster to go with the mega lunge and fast vault speed.

I am stunned tombstone piece has remained.

I'm not surprised at all that Tombstone piece is still basically untouched. It's the most busted add-on in the game and sells a lot of Myers DLC's.

  • I see comments from people all the time claiming that SWF teams have no advantage from comms and that it's just as easy to win against them as it is against solo queue teams. So if that's true then why would killers dodge lobbies with known SWF teams?

  • Um…Wraith is widely considered to be a pretty weak killer. I'm a pretty mediocre survivor player and I love going against Wraith because how easy he is to loop and can be easily mindgamed at pallets and windows. You should try playing as Wraith yourself and you'll quickly realize how weak he is against even semi-competent survivors.

A majority of the player base ... has never tried to play killer.

That's a rather extraordinary claim. Do you have any evidence to support this claim?

Um…I never said a majority of the player base has never tried to play killer but thanks for taking the liberty to splice two separate comments together. I said "a majority of the player base plays survivor" which is self-evident because you kind of need 80% of the players to be on the survivor side to make the game work and then I said "many of those players have never attempted to play killer" which is evident based on the comments on this forum day in and day out. Of course BHVR never has and never will give us the actual stats on it, but I'd be willing to guess that at least 25% of survivor players never play killer. What % do you think it is? It's definitely not zero.

  • OP sorry you're fighting a losing battle here. Remember a majority of the player base plays survivor, and a many of those players have never even attempted to play killer. So don't be surprised when (predictably) you get a bunch of responses claiming how easy it is to win as killer, even at higher MMR, without ever camping or tunning from players who would get destroyed if they ever actually attempted to play as killer.

This isn't intended to be the usual "us vs. them" trolling - it's simply pointing out that many players come onto this forum offering opinions on something they have zero first-hand experience with.

Now include games with a dc, exclude hatch escapes, exclude games where killer is afk, and solo q escape rate is probably around 20%.

I'll address each of these scenarios:

    • DCs - this is probably the only fair point you make here. We know that matches win DC's are excluded from the data. Matches with DC's probably have a lower escape rate, especially in solo queue. But to get to your "guess" that the real escape rate is ~20%, that would have to mean that a massive % of matches have DC's in them. Nobody has data to show if that's true. That's certainly not the case in my experience. I'd say it's maybe one out of 5 matches tops. And also we have no idea how much of an impact DC has on escape rate. Is it a 1% drop or 50% drop?
    • Hatch escape - those don't count as escapes anymore? OK
    • Killer AFK - extremely rare. I can't remember the last time I saw an AFK killer. Most likely a non-detectable impact on the stats.

The only thing we know for sure is the escape rate in match that "count" - so matches without a DC. If you're escaping far less than 40% of your "normal matches" (those without DC's), I don't know what else to tell you other than based on the stats you would be on the lower end of the skill curve. I'm not saying you need to "git gud", it's simply pointing out how you compare to the average stats.

1 … 24 25 26 27 28 … 37
