What is your proposed solution? There is already basekit anti facecamping and basekit borrowed time. What else do you want?
-
BHVR picking and choosing which people’s accessibility issues they care about and which ones they don’t. Very nice
-
This is so ridiculous if concerns about people with arachnophobia is the real reason for not wanting to create a spider-based killer.
I fully expect now that BHVR will ensure that they are being sensitive to every possible phobia, which basically means that all game content must now be removed.
If they don’t, it obviously means that they don’t care about accessibility. -

So when 5 gens pop and a killer has 0 hooks, can we abandoned penalty free as the games over?
The devs have said that the reason that killers can’t abandon when all the gens are done or when the exit gates are opened is “the killer can force the survivors to leave”, which is honestly a really terrible argument. I am willing to concede that killers shouldn’t be able to abandon when the gens are done but endgame collapse hasn’t started because the match is not over at that point. However, once exit gates are open, I think killers should be able to abandon if they choose. In my experience as killer, I have found that a large percentage of the time I don’t try to chase any more survivors after gates are open, one or more survivors are waiting at the gates to t-bag and if I don’t go to the gate, they wait as long as possible to leave just to waste my time.
The rationale the devs gave us for survivors being able to abandon when everyone is slugged is “the game is over and it allows everyone to get to the next match quicker.” It’s the exact same situation when gates are powered, yet we’re getting lame excuses for how these situations are somehow different. -
I don’t like it either. I played once during the very first event and never again since then. I have zero interest in this mode.

I can understand Trapper, and maybe Wraith, keeping the default music but Plague, Huntress, Pig, Freddy and Leatherface? After all these years and they still haven't given them their unique music.
Creating unique chase music takes resources. The game has gotten so bloated with older content now that BHVR just doesn’t have the resources to maintain or update most of it. With every new chapter, there is more and more past content to update and more and more bugs to fix but BHVR isn’t adding more people to keep up. I fear that the game is getting too big for its own good.

I really wish BHVR would get rid of post-game chat. It does far more harm than good. Getting rid of it would eliminate a major source of toxicity in the game. It boggles my mind that the devs feel that the very small benefit that the chat may (very rarely) provide is worth the amount of toxicity, rage and hate that it enables.

I just keep starting matches and by the time my game is finished loading in 2-3 gens are completed. Don't know if it's cheaters, bugs, connection issues, lack of "skill", or something else. But it makes me not want to play this game anymore and especially on Killer side. Someone please let me know that I'm not going crazy here.
this sounds like a hardware or network issue on your end. I’ve never seen or heard of this happening to anyone else. Maybe a few seconds lag, but nothing even close to long enough to complete 2-3 gens.
-
Just like much of the old game content, BHVR just isn’t interested in prioritizing any resources on it. People are still playing the game and spending money on it despite this and many other issues that have been ignored for a long time, so from BHVR’s perspective there isn’t any reason to put work into it.

Yes, this games became riculously comical for any one trying to win with more then a few killers. I'm not degrading survivors solo experience but even that at this point with all the info given is a joke. Any half knowledgeable survivor with windows of opp can loop Myers for 5 gens. I've just returned from many months off only to see it's became more ignorant.
If you want to show us some video of you looping Myers for 5 gens, I would be very impressed. I would consider myself a “half knowledgeable survivor” and I don’t think I’ve ever looped even the very worst killer players for 5 gens.

Why do BHVR keep making unbalanced maps like these? Have they learned nothing?
We’ll have to wait until the final version is released to see if BHVR is taking any of this feedback into account, so I won’t make a judgment until then
However, it really makes you wonder if the map designers actually play this game. Stuff like this should be glaringly obvious even before getting released to PTB.

You're missing the point. When did you ever see more killers than a Blight, a Nurse, Hillbilly or a spirit? I never see Chucky anymore. I never see Xenomorph anymore. I never see Trapper, Twins, Knight, Pig, Doctor, Artist, Trickster, etc… Where the Hell are they?
If everyone's goal is not to win then why is there a lack of killer variety?
I have seen all the killers that you just mentioned pretty recently.

Are you losing like this all the time or just complaining about one rough match and drawing a broad conclusion based on that? You’re going to have some tough matches occasionally, just FYI. It’s normal
-
We could ask this question about any content in the game. Everyone just has their own preferences. Not much use in trying to analyze it any deeper than that.
-
There’s way too much content in the game now for BHVR to actively manage all the historical content. Most of BHVR’s resources are spent on keeping the game running and working on new content, so that’s why we see old stuff like maps, perks, items, add-ons and killer powers get very little and infrequent attention.
In short - I wouldn’t hold your breath for any changes in the near future, or probably ever. -
ok - thanks for letting us know

2v8 is the only mode where you feel like you have a chance to win in solo Q surv. Normal 1v4 is full of killers who believe they are versing Eternal on their winstreak. Dont care about FnaF, game will still be unfun for solo Q even with all the quality of life changes. See ya and hope the next 2v8 comes soon
Average solo queue escape rate is 40%. If you’re escaping far less frequently than this, then it’s not a problem with the killers you are facing. Maybe consider that if you’re not even going to try, you’re never going to improve your survivor gameplay skills which will in turn help you improve your escape rate.

Boons are a failed new feature, that's the reason why we don't get more I think.
The only good one was Circle of Healing and was nerfed to the ground. The rest are not bad per se but they're too situational to worth a perk slot.
This is the correct answer. Boons are terrible and there are far better perks to choose from. It’s an interesting concept and I’m glad that BHVR tried it out. I think boons could be worthwhile to run with some buffs, but of course there’s always a delicate balance between making them worthwhile but not OP (as was the case with original CoH).

No tunneling. Low mobility killer. Even got sent to Eyrie
1 gen left 3 hook stages still won.Dont move any goalposts now.
Would like to see your killer gameplay as it seems the problem is not me here.First of all, I very much respect that you actually posted video of your gameplay. So many on this forum like to have strong opinions about things with zero experience to back up those opinions. You are one of the few who doesn’t do this.
I watched the start of the video (don’t have time to finish it now, but will do so later), and I can already see that this match doesn’t apply to the situations I was addressing with my post. The first survivors you found were clearly F-ing around, not gen-rushing. It’s easy to see very early on why you didn’t need to tunnel given the lack of coordination or urgency to complete the objectives from the survivor team. I am not arguing that tunneling is required in matches like this. I’ve had plenty of matches play out the way this one did.
I’m talking about tunneling being required in games where survivors are coordinating, splitting up on gens (right from the beginning, which clearly did not happen in your match) and taking full advantage of the mathematical advantage they have which allows them to get all the gens done around the 4th or 5th hook as long as all the survivors are decent at looping and evading the killer. Sure, this doesn’t apply to every game, but I’ve had plenty of games go this way.
My whole point is that nobody should feel bad about playing the way they feel they need to play in order to win. Some matches require tunneling to secure a kill/win because of the skill level and coordination of the survivors, and some matches maybe the survivors aren’t as good but hey maybe the killer isn’t very good either and tunneling might be needed to secure a kill/win for those less-skilled players. It’s very easy for those who have never played killer (there are plenty of them around here) to criticize when they themselves have never been in these situations. -

To sum up the replies, you shouldn't genrush because killers don't have fun when you do it. 🤷
Isn’t that literally the exact same argument for why killers shouldn’t tunnel?

@ChuckingWong said:
No idea. Term came out of excuses from what I can tell. Survivors have nothing else to do. Asking them what they are supposed to be doing would pretty much nulify any complaints about it.
Tunneling though. As many seem to, hilariously, attempt to compare it to. Killers can choose who they want to chase. Survivors dont get to choose anything but doing a generator.
They are simply incomparable. Embarrassing for anyone trying to make a similarity between the two. They’re not exactly comparable, but they are absolutely related. Let’s say someone is playing a setup-style killer with low mobility. Survivor team splits up and gets 2-3 gens done by the time killer gets first hook. Rinse and repeat during the next chases and the gens are done after 3-4 hooks, and of course we have to be super careful to make sure nobody has been hooked twice yet or else that is considered tunneling. What else is killer supposed to do to apply pressure to the survivor team to try to secure at least one kill? You live in a fantasy world where killers have unlimited time to play super nice even when survivor teams are playing very efficiently and gens are flying.
I’d love to see some of your killer gameplay so you can show us all the proper way that killers should be handling these situations. -
Bubba, of course!

I somewhat agree but realistically BHVR just needs to start permanently banning people who ruin this games vibe for people. They are far too soft on people who just have a terrible attitude.
Anonymous mode should be on by default because as I've said in the past this community no matter how much BHVR signal boost good creators has a lot of terrible people in it who will harass you outside of the game.
I am not a sensitive person but I keep anon mode on just due to the fact that I've gotten death threats prior or people going to my profile to harass me or my friends. Absolute bullshit I can't do anything against these people because they purposely will tread the line to avoid punishment.
I fully agree that BHVR doesn’t take chat harassment seriously enough. I really don’t care what people say to me, but people shouldn’t be allowed to say the most vile things consequence-free. I’ve reported racial slurs, harm wished up me or my family, etc, and nothing ever happens to the offenders as far as I know. New players are going to discover a very toxic and unwelcoming environment because BHVR won’t take action to ban people who are saying vile things to others.
-
It’s not really that straightforward. We’ve already seen how busted and unfun some combos can be when the devs put certain killers together with seemingly no testing or input from the community. There are so many dynamics between the killers and their powers that need to be considered. I’d much rather have BHVR slow down and actually put some thought into the killer power combos so that we don’t get another Oni/Legion situation in the next 2v8 event.
-
Killers trying to win as efficiently as possible: “no skill”, “toxic”, “trash”, “bad sportsmanship”, “git gud”
Survivors trying to win as efficiently as possible: “just doing their objective”, “you want to punish people for playing with their friends” (SWF on comms)
Killer players - play however you want and don’t feel bad about it. It’s only fair because that’s what so many on the survivor side demand for themselves. The only people who are going to get mad at you are survivor-only players who would get curb-stomped if they ever tried playing killer themselves.

I hate the new Quest system. It's such a nuisance having to log on every day, rather than just being able to do the Challenges at my own pace when I have the free time.
Agree. The changes to the quest system were unnecessary and actively hurt causal players. Out of all the things that BHVR should be spending their resources on, this was not even in the universe of “urgent things that need to be addressed.” But, not surprising given the long history of changes that nobody was asking for.

@Langweilig said:
The devs really need to put in more efforts to freshen up the survivor experience. Almost every update we see some changes to killers, but almost never any changes to survivor items and how they could be improved.
I agree. Anybody who plays this game even a little bit can easily see that the survivor side in 2v8 needs some changes to make it more appealing, yet somehow BHVR decided to make it even less appealing for survivors than previous iterations. It really is mind-boggling to see how badly they have bungled this.
-
my biggest frustration was getting flashbanged or flashlighted while picking up a survivor even when I did everything I could to counter it (facing into walls, looking straight up, etc). It seems like that problem has been at least someone fixed now because it hasn’t happened to me in while. But man it was bad when there was literally nothing you could do to counter blinds.
-
I’ve used smokebombs effectively to escape quite a few times. Sometimes you’ll get unlucky and the killer finds you anyway, but the smoke bombs aren’t meant to be automatic chase escape mechanisms. That’s the whole point - it requires a bit of luck and a bit of skill.

I’m aware that the 2v8 mode has caused some MMR issues. I already created another thread about that.
Today, I want to talk about something else. I don’t understand why people act toxic when the killer uses Lightborn after they bring 4 flashlights. I’m not someone who frequently uses the Lightborn perk, but if I see at least 3 players bringing flashlights, I equip it to prevent potential toxic behavior. I don’t think survivors have the right to complain when they bring 3–4 flashlights and then see Lightborn. In my opinion, they get upset because I ruined their plan to bully the killer. I would post screenshots here, but I can’t due to forum rules. In short: if you’re going to use flashlights, you shouldn’t complain when the killer picks a counter perk lolDon’t worry about other people being toxic. That’s their issue if they want to be sh***y human beings. I would suggest reporting them if they are harassing you in chat, but in my experience BHVR has never taken any action when I reported post-game chat harassment.

No - apparently it takes years for someone to code this into the game 🙄
-
this is a reportable issue, but at the same time it’s absolutely inexcusable that BHVR hasn’t done anything to prevent it. Removing collision with other players after x amount of time would be incredibly easy. One of the most infuriating things about this game is BHVR’s years-long failure to address easily-fixable issues like body-block griefing and ratting. Rather than BHVR spending a few hours to permanently fix these issues, they make it a giant burden for players to individually report for a chance that maybe the offender will be punished.

Matchmaking doesn’t work. Once you realize this, everything makes sense.

-
kills = skill
Yes, it’s an insanely stupid system
-
The items that have been in the game forever have definitely become stale and it would be great to see some new items added. Weapons seem a bit overkill (pun intended), but some more useful items for survivors that maybe take a side objective to obtain could add some interesting new dynamics to the gameplay that has been so stale for years. Unfortunately I don’t think BHVR is going to spend much if any resource on this unless the player count starts to drop due to player boredom/burnout.
-
I’ve been playing mostly survivor in 2v8 since obviously the killer queues are ridiculously long. The first couple of days it was absolutely miserable because I was going against coordinated Legion/Oni teams basically every match. I’ve seen far fewer of these combos in recent days, and my matches in general have been a lot more fun. I’ve probably escaped 50-60% of the time since the first two days. The main problem now is teammates who are clearly brand new to the game. Blowing up gens, crouching and hiding when killers are clearly chasing other people, getting downed 5 seconds after start of chase, etc.
There are definitely some valid complaints about the unappealing nature of the survivor side, but honestly I’ve been able to have fun for the most part. Survivor has nothing new or exciting, and facing Legion/Oni is pretty miserable. Legion with anny other killer is still super annoying and boring. But, after seeing how bad some of my survivor teammates have been, it’s clear that some of the complaints are probably coming from players who just need to get better at the game.

Same goes for 1v4. If he gets 4 hits, the 5th will down.
It’s kind of crazy that it’s possible for Legion to injure 8 people and then hit a 9th on a single use of their power. I remember someone on this forum actually trying to argue that Legion wasn’t a problem when paired with Oni because “any other killer can also injure people”. LOLZ

Most of the people that play DBD are bad at DBD and can’t coordinate for beans, this is why they hate Pinhead’s box
Well, yeah, it’s tough to coordinate when you don’t have the unfair advantage of comms. Most survivor players are solo queue and that’s why they can’t coordinate.

Sounds like another miserable killer for solo queue. Of course we don’t know enough to draw conclusions yet, but I really hope this isn’t another killer that is very easy for SWF on comms to deal with but overly oppressive for solo queue (like Pinhead or Singularity).

@Memesis said:
Why? He's anything but uncounterable. As a p100 nemesis I can promise you that survivors are fully capable of mind gaming and looping me despite my higher-than-average practice with the big guy. I've stated before that his counterplay is no different than huntress with less range and higher movement speed. On top of that, 3 health states?? Zombies are easily destroyed by anyone bringing a flashlight, head on, any means necessary, taking advantage of the weak ai, using lockers, or just wasting weak pallets.
Fully agree. I used to play Nemesis quite a bit and once I started facing good survivors consistently, I found him to be pretty weak. Like you said, you basically have to get 3 hits to down people instead of 2, and his power is very easy to bait/dodge. Being infected really does nothing, as opposed to Wesker’s infection which really requires survivors to deal with. Zombies are often useless and might as well not exist unless you get very lucky RNG. People complaining about him honestly just need to learn how to play against him. As a survivor, I enjoy going against him more than most other killers. He’s not that hard to deal with.
-
Yes, they are separate teams, but BHVR can very easily shift those resources. It’s not like they can’t do anything about how many people they have working on each team.
BHVR is going to prioritize those resources where the most money is made. I don’t blame them for that - that’s their job as a for-profit business. But it’s unfortunate for players who have been waiting for changes/updates/fixes for months or even years. The only thing that is going to get BHVR to shift their resources is if players leave the game in large numbers due to issues not getting fixed quickly enough. That isn’t happening right now.
-
Legion is very boring to play against but also very weak in normal 1v4 mode if survivors know that the best way to counter them is not healing and staying on gens. However, when you have two killers in 2v8 mode, Legion becomes especially problematic because they are making it so easy for their partner to get quick downs. Legion can injure a mass of people - again, not a problem for 1v4 - but with a 2nd killer makes it very easy to down 2 or 3 at a time, creating huge snowball pressure. Legion either needs some major adjustments for next 2v8, or I would be totally fine removing them from 2v8 as well.

How many games have you played where a character just goes straight through walls without a care in the world? That only happens when you activate god mode in games.
Now imagine not only being able to go through walls once, but twice. Yes—TWICE. This killer is a free-pass cheat code.
Now, because I feel bad for the good Nurse players—of which there are only a few—I’m not going to ask for a complete removal. But I do have a quick fix that would stop bad Nurse players from getting free wins, while also rewarding the good ones more fairly.
Bad Nurse players always, and I mean ALWAYS, rely on two blinks. The number of times these players misuse the first blink—only to avoid being punished because they still have a second blink with nearly the same range, resulting in free hits and quick 4Ks—is just absurd.
Good Nurse players? You guessed it—they only need one blink. They read survivor movement well enough to land hits with just one blink, only using two blinks for map traversal, not chasing.
So here’s the idea: give the Nurse only one blink but reduce its cooldown. This way, bad Nurse players will quickly realize they're not actually good at playing her and will switch killers (or quit, since she’s probably the only way they can get a win in this game) and survivors will get a fair chance against most nurses in average. Meanwhile, good Nurse players won’t be affected negatively for this nerf—in fact, they’ll get more respect because this is how they have been playing already.
Why don’t you try playing Nurse yourself and show us how easy it is to get these “free wins” before you complain about her.
-
So, first of all, you need to understand that matchmaking in this game does not work to begin with. Even in normal 1v4 mode with normal queue times, it doesn’t work.
2v8 is a whole different issue because of the massive imbalance of killers to survivors in the queues. Even with matchmaking off, meaning that you can be paired with anyone regardless of MMR score, the killer queues are taking 15-30 minutes depending on time of day. If you wanted accurate matchmaking, you would be waiting for hours.
