I don’t really like the event on either side, it I will agree that it feels a bit too killer-sided. I just do my event achievements and then go back to normal mode.
I get that certain people are frustrated about the event or the game in general, but at the same time, BHVR must being doing something right because the game is still hitting 100K+ player count peaks on Steam in the past few days. There are obviously plenty of survivor players who are enjoying it enough to keep up those numbers. -
Good luck. I’ve reported plenty of people (using the in-game report function) for extremely vile and hateful things in endgame chat and, as far as I know, no action was taken for any of my reports. It doesn’t seem like they take end game chat harassment seriously.

- If your death hook the 3rd time it should let you dc without a penalty because your already dead and out of the match. So what’s the point of staying in the match and your already dead when the entity takes you.
2. If it says dedicated server or if your internet crashes you should not get a dc penalty because it’s not your fault if something happens if the game crashes or if your internet crashes. Stuff like this happens all the time.
For number 1, it literally only saves you a few seconds. Totally pointless for BHVR to work on this.
For number 2, there is no way to distinguish between legitimate network disconnections and someone simply pulling their ethernet cable when they want to ragequit. This is a terrible idea that has already been proposed by others many times, and for very good reason it will never be implemented.

Killer stats for past 30 days. A bit higher than my long-term averages. Maybe due to large influx of new players (combined with non-functional matchmaking that puts brand news players against experienced players)?
-
Averages out to ~46% escape rate across 7.3 hours of play. I play solo queue and as you can see by my hours I am a pretty casual player. If someone like me can do it, there’s no reason that all the people that come here to complain how awful the survivor experience is can’t also do it.
I wonder if someone will accuse me of photoshopping again like they did when I posted my all-time stats a couple days ago 😂 -
@DeBecker said:
The stats are still not correct right now, so posting them has no means. Even the last played matches record is missing players you played with. And for me it doesnt even show my last played killer matches nor even recors them in the statistics.
Just post your all-time stats. I’m extremely curious to see them since you are always complaining about how killer-sided the game is. Other people (including myself) don’t seem to be having the kinds of problems that you are seeing with your stats, so what seems more likely to me is that your stats probably don’t fit your preferred narrative.

So, you're seeing at least one DC in 16 out of 20 matches? That's rather odd.
Lol right? Everyone who actually plays the game knows this is 100% false. If people want to make fools of themselves by continually defend things that are blatant lies, I guess we should just let them go for it.

You're arguing with a Killer Main, i.e. a brick wall. Killer Mains think they should only be getting 4Ks without having to work for it, so they call any Killer they're bad with "weak" even when the stats don't back it up. They think Survivors should be happy that they get away once every ten matches. They think doing generators fast is toxic, yet think tunneling, slugging and camping are valid strategies. The only fun they care about is their own, and unfortunately BHVR is on their side. It's why the game sucks as Survivor right now, because BHVR only listens to the side of the selfish side of the community.
This is the perfect example of the “us vs them” garbage that makes up like 95% of the toxicity on this forum. Why don’t you actually try playing the other side to get some perspective instead of just constantly trashing killer players?
-
@kosaba11 said:
Why would BHVR be honest about it? They still want you to believe they give a crap about the Survivor experience despite making it one of the least fun experiences in all of gaming.
Why are you (presumably) playing the game then? If it’s so miserable, go play something else. Plenty of other people (including myself) enjoy playing the game and that includes the survivor role (I play solo queue).

The main problem is that i've been encountering a lot of genrushing lobbies lately. Today i played like 7 games and 2 dead survivors was my maximum. What's best is that i even ran the build including
-Hex: Ruin
-Surge
-Thrilling Tremors
-Call of Brine
And basically you don't need to be the veteran of the game to know that the build is strictly focused around generators or preventing genrush. Somehow as i wrote before i've managed to kill only 2 survivors (and sometimes none, which is crazy playing 7 games in a row) and the whole game became somehow very survivor sided since 9.0.1 Bugfix patch.
Im wondering if BHVR is planning to do something about it cause i've seen more people than just me complaining about similar thing, so that would mean it ain't no ''placebo'' effect or stuff like that.
Agree with others that this isn’t a very effective build. Recommend you read some forums or watch YouTube videos to get ideas for good builds on the killers you are using. Also watch some educational videos to learn better macro gameplay to help apply pressure on top of the perks you are using.
-
Fully badgeless and bannerless here. It’s what the cool kids do.
-
I had a group of 6 friends who started playing the game with me years ago, and all but myself and one other quit almost immediately because of how overwhelming it was to learn all the perks, killer powers, looping techniques, etc. And that was back between the Legion and Plague chapters. It’s way more overwhelming for new players now. I can’t imagine being a new player now without dedicating your entire life to playing the game for the first few months just to learn everything.

Did you even read about the issue in question?! The whole point is that these stats are misleading because they ignore any DC matches even if it happened without penalty
They don’t exclude matches with abandons (what you refer to as “DC without penalty”). Please stop spreading lies. Go ahead and ask a dev, or anyone else on this forum who actually knows what they are taking about.
The stats do exclude real DCs, which are not common, especially now with harsher DC penalties. You can go ahead and keep trying to convince yourself that the stats are somehow grossly skewed because that’s the only narrative that’s acceptable to you, even if all the facts prove you wrong. If that’s the case, then there’s no point in arguing with you further.

With the all-time high player count, I imagine the servers are overloaded. I am not a network hardware expert, but guessing this could have something to do with it.

I do know Photoshop exists and/or you can play in like a sweat SWF to get those numbers right? Solo is more like 10% escape probability and those are dependent on the killer literally letting survivors escape. Only killers demand 95% win rates and BHVR protects them for that because it's the only demographic that really matters in the game.
😂😂😂 yeah, I totally photoshopped it. Thank you for making it abundantly clear that you just refuse to accept reality. No point in trying to convince you any more

@jedimaster505 said:
Tunneling is a low skill, high reward strategy. You can be a baby killer and still get decent results against experienced survivors doing it. So it always feels like a cheap, undeserved win, because it is. The kill rates are so high now on every single killer, that killers have nothing legitimate to complain about really, it's just nitpicking at this point. Sure, if they stopped tunneling and proxy camping and slugging, kill rates would decrease somewhat, however, they'd still win the majority of their matches playing honorably. The killers with inflated high MMR would lose a bit and go back to mid MMR where they should be. This idea that killers are forced to tunnel is nonsense.
The so-called "low tier" killers nowadays, are basically what used to be an S tier killer in 2016. The new S tier is really an S+++++++ tier killer. It's that easy. Killer mains nowadays are far more entitled than survivors. Survivors are complaining because they lose most of their matches as the stats are showing. Killers complain because their win streaks are broken by survivor teams that are better than them, in spite of winning most of their matches. Remember, all the meta perks that survivors bring is only the survivors' attempt to bring the average escape rate closer to 50%, and it still fails to accomplish this at the highest MMR with a 4 man SWF with comms. So killer mains have moved the goal posts very far over the years, such that they are basically gaslighting survivor mains when they say the game is survivor-sided.
Wraith is not weak in chase. He has very high mobility and can block vaults and pallets. Nor is Oni, who can easily 1 hit down at rapid speed with 180 flicks and then go slug everyone else quickly. Ghost Face can 1 hit down with stealth so he can down people quickly. Pig can use their stealth with perks to 1 hit down you and gets passive pressure with the head traps. Onryo can just abuse a build to get condemned stacks and 1 hit downs. If Onryo were "strong" in chase she would be unbeatable if the killer has any competence. She is very oppressive in the right hands as it is.
I repeat, killers do not need to tunnel to win. Most killer mains don't want to hear this, but it's a skill issue. However, the goal posts have moved so far that they feel entitled to 60%+ kill rates, which by definition, is not "balanced". But killer mains pretend that this unevenness is actually fairly balanced because it benefits their preferred role.
One last thing. While I have played both sides, it's just a myth that you need to play killer role to know that it is OP. The official kill rates and escape rates, plus experience playing survivor, plus watching killer and survivor main streamers, make it obvious that every single killer in the game wins most of their matches on average. Mechanically, even the "hardest" killers in Dead by Daylight are relatively easy to learn, but with a somewhat steeper learning curve than the others. However, the oppressiveness of a character like Nurse or Blight completely makes up for it.
You’ve never once shared evidence of your own gameplay, or even your stats to prove how “easy” it is to play killer. You’ve made these claims so many times without evidence that nobody can take you seriously.
I think the root of the problem here is your expectations vs what the devs have intended for game balance. You seem to feel that a 60% kill rate target is far too high. If that’s your opinion, that’s fine - everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But what does a 60% kill rate mean? It means that, on average, a killer is getting 2 or 3 kills, weighted more heavily to the 2-kill outcome. In any given match, the most likely outcome is 2 escapes. That feels pretty damn balanced to me, especially for a horror game where escape is supposed to be somewhat difficult.
I can respect your opinion if you feel differently about what the average kill/escape rate should be, but what I can’t respect is people throwing out baseless claims that a certain role is super easy to play without providing any evidence whatsoever that they themselves can back up that claim.
Your quote below is exactly what I’m talking about: -
@jedimaster505 said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3952982#Comment_3952982
Well the irony here is that a 200 hour Nurse or Blight can routinely crush a 10K hour survivor team (2.5K hrs per survivor). So that does tell you something.
Can you show us one example where this has happened, with playtime stats to prove your claim? Or better yet, how about your own gameplay? I would love to you see play as a beginner Nurse against a 10K hour team.
Highly expecting that, as usual, you won’t provide any examples. You’ll just continuing to throw out baseless claims that survivor role is impossible to play, which is far easier to do than improving your own gameplay.

The matches where a Nurse/Blight/Spirit/Kaneki steamrolls the team for a quick 4K, an early DC is actually very likely. So excluding them definitely is padding the stats and making killer role look weaker than it is.
”Very likely?” I haven’t see that in my matches in a long time. If you have the stats to prove that matches with DCs are a high percentage, I would love to see that. It’s pretty uncommon in my experience, especially now with harsher DC penalties.
How often are you escaping? I shared my stats - very curious to see yours. I have a feeling that you’re escaping a lot more often than you would like us all to believe.

I think it’s funny that people pretend like solo queue is impossible instead of putting in a little bit of effort to get better. It’s not that hard if you put in a little bit of effort to improve instead of constantly complaining about how “impossible” it is.
Why don’t you show us your stats so we can see whether you really are never escaping or if you just have unrealistic expectations for the game? You’re not supposed to be escaping a majority of your matches.

Doesn't really matter. Regardless of how cool or bad the designs of the survivor and killer are, the survivor is going to have perks that will only be good in niche builds or niche situations, while the killer will get perks that make it even harder for the survivors to even exist. Not to mention the killer will likely end up overpowered, yet will be called weak by Killer mains because they're not getting 4Ks every match with them. And, in all likelihood, the killer will be riddled with bugs that the developers will ignore and let pass through the PTB.

80% of games there is at least one person DCing. I can sit there getting a 8 hooks and letting them all leave and someone will leave the game, I can be playing survivor and someone will leave as soon as they are on the ground for longer than 15 seconds, or left on hook for longer than 10 seconds. The vast majority of games have at least one person leaving before abandon is even given as an option.
That’s not statistically possible. That would mean on average any given player DC’s once every 0.8 x 1/4 or in 20% of matches, even higher if more than one person is dc-ing in these matches. How many survivors would there be remaining in the queues if the average survivor DCs once every 5 matches? Hint : very few
-
I play killer about half the time and don’t feel like healing is a problem. What gives me the most struggles as killer is broken maps like Badham, Eyrie and Garden of Joy that the devs refuse to fix. Have never really felt like survivors healing too quickly was a problem.
-
How often are you seeing DC’s in your matches? You have a valid point if DC’s occur in like 50% of matches, but in my experience it’s not even close to that. Especially now with the harsher DC penalties.
I’m a very mediocre solo queue survivor player and I manage to escape around 40% of the time according to my stats. I don’t believe the escape rate stats are wildly inflated.

At first I was excited for this year's anniversary event and to grind bp for Springtrap but after loseing 10 games and only winning two games and getting 2 draws I've come to the conclusion that I'm reminded how much I hate how survivor/swf sided this game is and the massive unbalanced(*Cough* Gen rushing perks Cough) factors
Im trying to chill but literally every match feels like a tournament with compies sweaty wannabe swfs stacking the same boring meta perks and cheating in discord comms to gain a advantage to win is exhausting
Gens are flying constantly
I hate how much BVHR has completely gutted gen regression for almost no reason BUT meanwhile gen rushing builds are rarely nerfed to the same degree causing a massive imbalanced
I swear these matches are just straight up unplayable to the point I DCd 3 times
And don't even get me started on how annoying and lazy-Hand holding the ability to spawn a pallet as survivor is
Like really? It's so annoying trying to loop a pallet loop that's now became a chain of two pallet loops or god forbid your on a badly designed map like Erie or tobia
Everyday I'm reminded how survivor sided this game is
How long have you played this game? Do you have stats available that you can share? I’m curious what killers you are using and what your kill rate is. I’m a pretty casual player and certainly not a gifted video game player, and overall across all the killers I play, my average kill rate is right around the target 60%. If your kill rate is far below the average, honestly I don’t think it’s a game balance issue but likely your own gameplay. Time, experience, practice and learning (eg watching others good killers play) will help you improve.

@kosaba11 said:
I already knew BHVR didn't care about Survivors, but this latest update just further proves it. It's unplayable now.
- You get crows even when you're moving. Heck, I ended up with three while trying to open the Exit Gate because I had to do it slowly, since I was against Springtrap, and since his doors spawn next to the generators, he was easily keeping tabs on both doors. Not an issue with Springtrap, I actually enjoy facing him, but the crow system is ridiculous. I understand it's necessity - some survivors do just go idle. But having them spawn after that short a time when, 9 times out of 10, the Killer is literally right in front of you is stupid.
- You can't attempt to unhook yourself. I get they removed this ability because people kept killing themselves, but instead of addressing why these players were doing it, they decided to just punish everyone who plays survivor.
- If you get tunneled out, you can now receive a ban thanks to their braindead decision to make it to where, if you die too quickly, then the system decides that you were throwing. Once again, it's like no one on the dev team plays the game or has a brain - Dying fast does not mean you were throwing when they allow and encourage tunneling.
- The "anti-camping" mechanic continues to not work, and even turns off once the generators are all done, which is beyond stupid. The end game is the most likely time that the Killer will camp, so why do they get to be rewarded for it? All Survivors can try to do is get their teammate off the hooks, which becomes a Herculean task against most of the Killers. And I know people will bring up "Oh, but Survivors get the Hatch if it's down to one person," well the Killer can find it, often faster than the Survivor unless they get lucky, and then the Killer can close it. And even worse, when it's not the end game, it fills up at a snail's pace, and has a small radius, making it completely pointless.
- The "anti-tunneling" system continues to be pointless, since some Killers, like Leatherface, can just go right through it, and for everyone else it's just a minor inconvenience.
- The "anti-slugging" mechanic is by far the most braindead - Ah, yes, you know what will make Killers stop slugging? Make it to where they're encouraged even further to slug. Why, exactly, would anyone with any level of common sense think adding a "Give up" feature fix the problem? All it's done is make it worse.
- Wiggling continues to be a pointless feature. I've been carried halfway across the map multiple times without being able to wiggle out, even when hitting it perfectly. If the system isn't going to matter, then remove it.
- Finally, I understand they made it to where Survivors now spawn together because Killer were complaining about "gen rushing," - which is a stupid thing to complain about since doing generators is literally the only thing Survivors can even do - but the fact the Killer can, and often does, spawn right next to the Survivors is stupid. If the Survivors have to spawn together, then the Killer should spawn on the other side of the map to make it fair.
And I know plenty of people won't agree with me, and frankly, I don't care. This game is only fun as the Killer - the fact they even have to coax people to play Survivor with Bloodpoints should be a wake up call for BHVR, yet they don't think it's weird that few people even want to play the role. Gee, maybe if you make the game fair and balanced, more people would be open to playing either role. Instead, they prefer making the Killer overpowered, while Survivors barely get anything. And even when Survivors get something good, Killer mains complain and get it nerfed or removed.
I completely agree that the AFK crows is terrible and needs to be nuked, but survivor isn’t “unplayable”. The average escape rate for solo queue is 40%. I’m by no means a great player and I manage to escape around 40% of the time according to my stats. I just played three solo queue matches tonight and escaped all three. I have some unfun stretches, but some good ones too.
What is your escape rate? If it’s near or above the 40% average, the problem isn’t game balance - it’s your expectations. If you’re escaping below the average, then work in improving your gameplay. If a casual, middle-aged player like myself can do it, anyone can. -
What is your average escape rate? You can see that now with stats being available. The average solo queue escape rate is 40%. So there are plenty of solo queue players who are escaping regularly.
Looking forward to all the downvotes from players who simply want to deny/ignore the data rather than get better at the game. -

Yeah, this is something Killers don't want to understand or accept. The devs are going for the 60% kill rate, not 100%.
What killer players are advocating for higher kill rates? Please show me where killer players are asking for this.
You’re absolutely right that the kill rates are right where the devs are targeting. So why are there still so many demands to nerf killers and strategies that they use? The 60% kill rate includes all the matches where tunneling occurs, too. So if tunneling is nerfed, kill rates will go down without other compensating adjustments to buff killers to get back up to 60%. I’d be totally fine with that approach as long as we don’t nerf killers to reduce tunneling with nothing to to compensate and keep kill rates consistent with target levels. -
@MagicDragon said:
…is an argument to nerf tunneling. You're not meant to consistently win games, you're meant to win some and lose some; to be inconsistent.
Yet we constantly get complaints from survivor-only players on this forum about how killers and killer strategies need to be nerfed, even though on average survivors are escaping 40% of the time and even more than that if they’re in coordinated SWF teams. Funny how that works.

No, it's still pretty easy even after the initial phase.
I don’t doubt that it is for you, but that’s not what the stats say for the average killer player. The average kills ratios show that average killer players are getting 2-3 kills, with 2 kills being more common than 3. I wouldn’t call that “pretty easy”. Average killer players still need to work hard to wins. I know that’s a foreign concept to all the survivor-only players who think that playing killer is a cakewalk.
-
I’ve played killer for a long time, and have gotten to the point where I face good survivors pretty regularly. Tunneling typically does not work well for me against survivors who know what they’re doing. I might get the one tunnel kill, and sometimes not even that if survivors are coordinated and do a good job of body blocking/taking hits to help protect their teammate.
My point is that tunneling really only works if survivor teams let it work. Even in solo queue, if survivors stay on gens when it’s clear the killer is trying to tunnel someone out, it almost never results in a killer win (3K or 4K).
When I play survivor, I occasionally see killers tunnel, but it’s probably 1 in 5 matches at the most. Definitely not the epidemic that some are portraying it to be. Bad/brand new/useless teammates in solo queue due to non-functional matchmaking is a FAR bigger problem than tunneling. -
Go ahead and switch to killer, guys. You’ll find that it’s probably easy at first, but when you start regularly facing survivors who know what they’re doing, you’ll probably be back here complaining about survivors being OP.
There are definitely legitimate issues on the survivor side right now that make it unfun to play, but those are entirely self-inflicted mistakes by BHVR because they didn’t properly test things or get player input before going live. When those mistakes hopefully get fixed, I think the game will be fine for both sides.
Before this chapter, the kill/escape rates were right where they should be. Lots of people were complaining about survivor even before these recent changes. If you were complaining, you were either 1) escaping at 40% rate or higher, in which case the problem is your expectations, not game balance; or 2) escaping less than the 40% average rate, in which case the problem is your own skill, not game balance. -

Killer speed has not increased. The crows spawning is the only thing you listed that changed.
lol stating obvious facts gets downvoted. The whole downvoting thing is just a complete joke. It’s turned this forum into a Reddit-style cesspool. How the mods thought this was a good idea is beyond my comprehension.

No.
You can´t and should not punish people for a bad internet connection.
Sadly you will always have people who exploit everything that is possible - but i always (try to) think good of people.
right - the majority who have good connections should suffer because of the minority who have bad connections or are exploiting with VPN. Terrible take
