Eh. I think most of the recent changes are welcome, but then again, I've only played for a year.
-
I think they worked on this midchapter already before the Singularity came out and Made for This feedback was collected. Most likely, it is based on the data they collected after 6.7 (which came out two months ago). I'm thinking this because we're seeing some Hag add-on buffs, and it was a patch that nerfed her, so they had to monitor her afterwards.
With this in mind, they're probably still collecting data at the moment and will nerf it if necessary in a month or two, in time for the next chapter or the midchapter after that.
-
These are all delightful !
-
I hadn't even considered this as a possibility. It would be pretty stupid and unfair for a fresh new bot to pop up. I always assumed it would just take control of the survivor husk left behind by the DC'er, hook states and all.
-
Low--ish mmr survivor here, and they are few and far between here. Which I'm not complaining about. Not even touching on her gameplay, a lot of the Artists I see are very keen on BMing, for some reason.
Gameplay wise, I do find her TR to be very quiet, which throws me off a lot. I'll just start noticing it and she's immediately upon me.

If you're anything like me, you should give Twins a try too! I like them
We should trade our insights and findings sometime! I know that mainly playing Hag has made me look at the whole game from a weird angle, and some wacky things are to be found by digging around a bit!
I've thought about giving Twins a try before, but friends dissuaded me !! I'll definitely try now haha.
I haven't had a lot of time to spend on the game these past few months, so I'm a very rusty casual, I'm not sure I'd have a lot of insight to trade unfortunately ! =(
I'd love to hear any findings of yours though ! ^^

You play Legion a lot, yeah? I recommend you give Coup de Grâce a go once the changes go live (or honestly, before). My main killers are Legion and Hag, and I find Coup to be particularly useful on Legion! It's less situational than it seems at first glance, but it took me a while to learn exactly where I can successfully use the perk
Another Legion and Hag main ??
I have found my brethren ! =D
I'll give Coup a try when I get Twins prestiged !

Just got disconnected twice in a row playing (or rather trying to play) with friends tonight. My ping was at 47ms.
My connection was doing good (I'm not playing on wifi) but the game often had the lag symbol (red diamond next to white one).
Each time lag made the game unplayable at intervals.
It was 10pm-11pm EU.
The servers are dying, they're clearly not adapted to the player numbers they're getting.
There's very little transparency in all that situation...
Here's to hoping it will get better as the PTB draws some players away from main game.
-
Got disconnected again with low ping. I genuinely might not get to enjoy the rest of the event. This is so frustrating.
-
I can't play Nurse because she makes me motion sick...
But I love going against her ! (at my level, which means casual/rather bad players)
She changes the way survivors chase, needing to juke more, hide, confuse. It wouldn't work against very experienced Nurses, but it's really fun to try.
-
To avoid stockpiling cakes on characters I won't play after the event, after I prestige 1 a characer for perks, I play them to use the cakes and save the ones that are on my main.
I prestiged Jonah while doing this challenge. Loadout is the white, random perk icon... and I enter the game with 0 perks.
Well that's immediately terrifying.
-
Hag both has very strong purple and iris, and very stupid ones. Bless her !

This probably has something to do with it, but I feel like enough time has passed for a correction to take place in terms of MMR. As others have alluded to, I think they just tuned SBMM to accept such a wide range that it essentially doesn't exist at this point. We're back to rainbow ranks.
I don't think mmr doesn't work at all. I'm a very poor survivor, yet my games almost always feel winnable if the team played correctly. I still die most of my games, but I rarely feel that we did not at least have a chance to have a couple escapes and fumbled it.
I don't play killer very often, and my mmr on killer is also probably quite low, since I'm not too bothered with being efficient and sometimes let people go. Similarly, I usually get survivors that are also casuals and not amazing in chase or too fast with gens.
So lower mmrs are doing okay I would say, at least on EU. It might mostly be higher mid and high mmr that are muddled together ?
-
- The more competitive mindset that many people are evolving towards is making the game less fun.
- Content creators are responsible for a lot of this mindset.
- Most SWFs are not significantly more successful than solos, and even if they were, that's what mmr is for
- Lobby dodging is understandable if there's a TTV in your lobby, as you're not asking to be broadcasted to strangers
- Adding voice chat to the game would create more problems than it would solve
- Nurse is fun to go against
- Pinhead is fun to go against
- Doctor is fun to go against
- Hag has more than enough counters, didn't need the base kit disarming traps
- Corrupt Intervention should have a base kit version that's shorter
- Grim Embrase could be base kit as is (or at least tier 1), and should have a stronger version for the perk (would be a good time for survivors to search chests and break totems without feeling like they're sabotaging their teams too)
- Two contradicting opinions can be true at the same time, just at different mmrs or experience level
- Winstreakers deserve every obstacle the game throws their way
- If you're playing chill and start to lose more, trying to compensate by going sweaty is just gonna take you further away from your comfort zone and you'll be stuck in an unenjoyable bracket

We're not in the super-small-top-MMR-player-pool though, ever since they further lowered the cap.
I wouldn't know about high mmr or the Cap™, I'm firmly in the lower half of the player skill pool ! Diversity is very good here, I rarely get the same killer back to back.
I do hear a lot of people complaining though ! That's why I think it might be complicated to put into effect.

I have pretty much instant surv Qs (tho, I suppose that's more due to how uninticing it is to play surv during the event....) and I wouldn't mind waiting 10-20 seconds longer, if it means I don't get the same killer several times in a row
I meant more that highest mmr would bounce between Blight and Nurse and Wesker a lot, and it might make these killer's queues longer while they're waiting for a lobby of only people who have not gone against that killer immediately before. And probably of the survivors too, because if you're solo you need 3 other survivors who also haven't had Nurse before, for example.
-
Maps are one thing, but killers would probably mess mmr even further than it is already, unfortunately.
-
I don't mind getting grabbed while vaulting.
I mind when I'm fully, two feet on the ground, at least a meter away from the window
And somehow get teleported back to get slammed on the window that I vaulted a full second before
A lunge would not have gotten that, but Wesker did
-
@RpTheHotrod said:
Hits are killer favored. Interrupts are survivor favored.
Essentially, if a hit looks like it would hit from the killer's points of view, it will be validated as a hit. If an interrupt looks like it WOULD NOT have interrupted from the survivor's point of view, then the interrupt will be cancelled and the killer gets a damage state instead as compensation. Interrupts are things such as grabs and Deathslinger harpoons. The reasoning is that it would make the game feel unplayable for killers if their clearly hit hits didn't actually hit, and it would be super awkward for survivors to run away from a gen only to suddenly be teleported back to the gen for a grab. That's why a Deathslinger can harpoon someone, see the chain attach, the survivor then continues to run towards a window, vault the window and THEN get locked into the chain animation - from the survivor's point of view, they had already cleared the window before getting harpooned.
I knew about the hit validation being killer favored, but not about the interruption thing ! That's interesting.
It explains how sometimes I'm both being unhooked successfully AND my unhooker gets grabbed successfully too. I always wondered !
-
My favorite is actually Doctor =(
And I main Legion so I like seeing them =(
It's hard to choose from categories though, often killers have similar tropes but are wildly different to go against.
I love facing Nemesis but hate Wesker and Plague with all my soul.
I adore Hag but don't enjoy Trapper.
I'm settling on teleports because I quite like Pinhead and I don't dislike any of the others in that category !
-
How good would it be against slugging ? Not the best (I could see an irritated killer leave you on the ground on purpose after that)
Would it be hilarious ? Absolutely !
-
Borderlands 2
A Psycho skin for Legion would be really cool
-
Wesker's right there with Huntress in "killers that benefit from lag in an annoying way for survivors"
May hit validation one day be fixed !
-
My first thought was of a wildly different meaning for Drag and I was very confused.
-
I've seen him once since the event started, in about 15 hours of playing.
Was a little new to the killer (my survivor mmr is freezing in hell at the moment) and tried to recover the game by monitoring both of the gates with multiple biopods to always be able to tag us.
It's actually one of the games where the remaining solo, my friend and I had spent the most time getting organized to open a door, waiting for EMPs to print and each disable a biopod (all were far enough apart that one EMP could not reach 2 biopod) before finally being able to open the gate. Aftercare really carried the organization.
It took a couple of tries and was a very tight affair.
-
I think having a few openly LGBT characters is great, but it's also nice to have characters stay ambiguous so people can project their headcanons on them.
Like, let's say an ace person likes to headcanon that Zarina is ace. If she was revealed to be bisexual, she couldn't be the ace rep in this person's perception, because what was formerly a headcanon is now hard contradicted by canon, and keeping their former opinion on Zarina could be seen as erasing bi rep.
It's okay to leave some things open to interpretation.
-
It did make me laugh, though I can't say I escaped that game !
-
My friend and I typically line up side by side at the start of the exit gate and crouch =)
-
I've noticed that too while testing Singularity but to be fair the survivors DO know when you're in the biopod, so it makes sense that the bots do too. I did not know that at first because I have yet to go against one in a real game.

With or without comms? -> make comms an in-game feature like in R6S, overwatch, lol, rocket league,.... etc and not using them a decision
Casual/bad/good/very good swf? -> create a working matchmaking, other games also do it taking premade Team sizes and/or skill into account
I'm personally against the idea of voice comms being added to the game, but that's a whole other topic.
I'm all for a working matchmaking though, haha !
-
I think it's staying as a draw to buying the chapter, will get nerf later on in the year

Easy, make it part of game, if you play with friends you can use oblgatory that perk you can speak with friends , but ofc if you speak with them killer get a information.... isnt it much better ?
I'm sorry but I don't understand at all what you're offering.
There would be one less perk slot for people queueing up together and killer gets some info ?
That wouldn't solve the fact that casual swfs are not doing that good with 4 perk slots available, and would not differenciate swfs with and without comms...
Also would be interesting to determine what info the killer gets.

No one is saying to ban it.But if players use swf the trial could have minor modifications to boost killer
How would the game make the difference between swf with comms, swf without comms, casual/bad swfs (that by the devs' own stats do not have a significantly higher escape rate) and very good swfs ?
Sounds complicated to punish one thing without unbalancing it for two others...
(Not looking to be agressive, just wondering !)

Survivor -
Aftercare literally never leaves my builds. Seeing the aura of your other teammates gives you so much information about the game, where the chase is going on, where someone needs healing, where gens in progress are... And they see you as well, so they know not to bring the killer to you, or they can come to you for heals if needed. (Or communicate other things - I once had a solo survivor leave her gen and run in a circle to get my attention and motion for me to go unhook, when we were half a map apart !).
Bite the Bullet is fun but you likely won't get value out of it consistently. I still got some pretty stupid heals when I played it, like killer coming to hook a survivor in the area I was in, and walking right past the stone I was healing behind without a clue that I, an injured survivor, was there.
Rookie Spirit is also good if you need to know where gens are, and to prevent your team's work from being wasted to regression.
Alert is just an all around great perk.
Deja Vu, especially after it's recent change, is great. One of my weaknesses is never really knowing where gens are, and having constant knowledge of where your next objective is removes most of the fumbling that leads to loss of time.
Killer -
Spies From The Shadows is very underrated ! It was my best friend when I started playing killer and to this day, when I have a flexible perk slot in my build, I often take it. It's just great to know if someone is stealthing next to you, or where they're going if you lose line of sight at any point in chase.
Mad Grit is a pleasure when you think the team you're going against is gonna be altruistic. I'm very fond of it.
Surveillance is nice, especially in 3gen situations and paired with Jolt to make several gens regress at once.
I've gotten some value out of Hangman's Trick before.
Hex : Third Seal is a cruel, cruel perk but I've gotten so much value out of it. It's amazing. I stopped using it becauseI felt bad for the solo survivors, who can't do much about it.
-
I feel like grouping up all survivor mains as having this same mentality is, in itself, a "survivors bad, killer good" moment.

Killers are not allowed to play casually with fun builds most of time, hence why it's either sweat from a start or be the clown of the party. All these meta shifting changes made killer experience like that.
That's not entirely true. It's more like, once you've gotten on the train of "playing meta / playing efficiently to win most times" you can't go back to mmr brackets where you can mess around with fun builds and play casually. (without losing a lot of games, that is)
I play killer very casually, with fun builds, and since I've never gone looking for consistent wins / sometimes let people go entirely, my mmr is still at a bracket where I can have fun with casual survivors.
The game can't tell the difference between when you're in a mood to sweat or to be casual, so once you've sweated enough it puts you with similarly skilled/sweating opponents, and by that time you're too far from casual brackets to have chill games.
I firmly believe DbD Killer is a game that doesn't get more fun the better you become at it. The secret to being a happy killer is to be kinda bad and casual.

If you use the original you could always have the human killer running around with the ability to possess the dolls scattered around the map.
If they ever do add Chucky, I'd rather them get the license for the original then the copy. Still wish they were able to do that with Freddy.
Not gonna lie, that sounds extremely cool. Just loading into a map with lots of dolls lying around sounds like a really horrific and fun experience !
-
I don't know how hyped I would be for that... One of my friends has psychomotor issues that prevent him from being very reactive. As it is the skillchecks are fine (though the end of second hook phase is a little bit of a struggle to him, so it's always better to unhook him early), but if they were more frequent and in rythm, he'd probably be unable to complete them.
If the current skillchecks were kept as an accessibility feature for those who need them, and as long as it doesn't prevent players from looking around for stealth killers, I'd see no problem !
-
@Yippiekiyah said:
Well by the devs own statistics it can increase your chances of escape (the win condition) by 15%. Put it this way if your playing a tennis match and your opponent took a steroid and he won 15% more of the time he would be branded a cheat.
This is misinformation, to an extent. The 15% is only at the up most mmr, which is very few players.
They said that in the vast majority of cases, the escape rate varies at most by a few %.
-
Hags and Trappers would have a 4rth perk slot haha

Hag is shorter, Blight is/was shorter, oh and how could I forget Viktor.....who really seems the exact size of Chucky. Also let's not forget they have figured out ways to have killers in the game who have never touched there victims but Chucky is a no go? He can't hook people ya ya. This is not a dig at you btw just the nonsense I have read over the years.
No worries, didn't come off that way !
I'm just skeptical because yes, Victor exists, but his PoV isn't the greatest to have for the whole game and yes, he can't hook people. (also, Hag and Blight are nowhere near the same level of short haha !)
Now, give Chucky a horse and maybe... =P
-
I don't think so. It's only an advantage if the players are playing super sweaty, but the official numbers state that for the vast majority of swfs it's not the case.
Most people play with friends to hang out and chat, and hanging out and chatting is not unfair.
Also, as someone who works in surveys, the formulation of the question and restricting it to that specific demographic would make the results quite biased.
-
Honestly after the medkit update, I think we might be getting another survivor item rework. They've said they're focused on community feedback, and the community hates on BNP a lot (and not without reason). So I could see a toolbox rework.
We've already got flashlight changes recently, I don't think they care too much about maps and keys, so yeah, bet is on toolbox.
I'd love for them to make map offerings rarer too, because right now the map offerings are taking up all the space in green nodes in the bloodweb and I'd unironically like to have more broken keys and maps, if I'm to want to learn and play with them. But I don't think they're changing map offerings soon.
-
I like how the official name is Skull Merchant but whenever I read DM it doesn't take more than a second to understand the acronym. X)
-
Didn't get the question either
-
Didn't they say once that considering the main killer has to be somewhat tall for balance and animations purposes, Child's Play couldn't be a part of DbD ?
(Not 100% sure, but it's definitely something I've heard before)
-
I don't remember having this question but would have probably put Hag for buff, Blight for nerf and Skull Merchant rework.
-
In the right hands, Sprint Burst is a strong beast, especially with Blood Rush.
Do I think it should be nerfed ? Heck no. Your average Meg uses it whenever it's available and not particularly 99'd, and I don't believe in balancing from the top down.
-
*Puts on 5 hexes*
I have transcended perk slots ! They can never stop me ! Hahahahahaha !
*Survivors each spawn next to a totem, build lasts 2 minutes*
Noooooooo-
(Unless... Pentimento...... =D)
