I sure can. I’ll shoot you a dm

I guess I am going to start playing Blight then. Must be pretty awesome if you can make 4 day lasting temper tantrums.
You have no idea Lmaoo. I get soooo much hate in post game chat, my stream chat, and twitch dms, simply for being a good blight.
No slowdown, no camping, no tunneling. And they still come hate on me. It’s hilarious.

Which is precisely my point. I'm tired of people complaining about "top tier killers" and how they are "so OP" when if you look at the data, they don't perform any better than the average killer.
Now, i know we all know that data is BS because it doesn't show the truth. So then, let's flip it upside down. Think about what the data is not showing against top tier survivors as well.
Agreed. And it’s not fair to call a killer op because of a tiny population of gamers that put a substantial amount of time to become particularly deadly with that killer.
-
Not that we do it…. But haddonfield, main 2nd floor only has one hook. Get rid of that hook and a team full of wiggle perks makes it IMPOSSIBLE to hook anybody… but I’ve never done it.. just saying.
-
I see this happen a lot. There will be one, maybe 2 survivors not running distortion and I’m going to go for whoever procs on my BBQ. I’ll then get accused of tunneling…. Blame your teammates lmao. Or run distortion yourself.

That’s not what the OP was complaining about. We aren’t complaining about the difference between making an attack or searching a locker. We’re complaining about the difference between picking up a survivor and opening a locker.
I had a game where a knocked down survivor was directly in front of a locker, and a survivor was waiting in that locker, and I wasn’t able to get a prompt to open the locker. Bully SWFs sometimes do this on purpose, so they can laugh at the killer, because the survivor in the locker is immune because the knocked down survivor is blocking the search locker prompt. And if the killer picks up the knocked down survivor, then the survivor in the locker will jump out with their flashlight so they can get a flashlight blind.
TD;LR searching a locker should have a higher priority than picking up a survivor that is directly in front of the locker. Killers can change their camera angle to choose to pick up a survivor, but they can’t change their camera angle to choose to open the locker.
It does have a higher priority… what are you talking about? If you have a survivor directly in front of a locker, and you face the locker while on top of the survivor, it will search the locker 1,000%. The locker cj is about timing the jump out at the same time the killer goes to open the locker, and it forces the killer to pick up the survivor instead.

Even if you predict it correctly the Blight only uses 1 or 2 tokens so now you're just being rushed down in the open. Or, you predict it correctly and get hit anyway due to the bs demo size hitbox.
That’s dependent on the loop size. If you leave the loop immediately, the blight will still be looking down. Some loops he won’t even see you leave. If you stay at the loop, swing out wide while he hug techs.
There is so much counterplay to this.

The only advantage the hug tech gives is mitigating rushes in general. A few small tiles as well but those tiles you are referring to are generally trash filler pallets in the first place. It's about fun way more than strength. .75 seconds to start a hug tech that has a telegraphed trajectory or fast bump logic with nearly no downtime between rushes? Also hug tech hits typically are long range flicks and long range flicks are beyond easy to dodge unless in a very very tight area.
I’ve tried telling them this. They don’t wanna listen. Despite the hug tech being the most recognizable thing a blight is going for.
Hint….. 1) LEAVE THE LOOP.

He’s got an addon that lets him see aura around him when he rushes.

Since solo queue is now almost buffed to swf level, (only thing left now is knowing what pallets have been used in the map, for which devs might provide a basekit windows of opportunity who knows) It'll be interesting to see if they ever buff killers since they have to pretty much compete with swfs every game now. And hopefully it's not another 0.005% faster pallet breaking buff.
(What's also funny is devs labelling this as just a "quality of life" improvement, just shows they don't understand what a huge part "information" plays in their game)
It’s so funny to me when people like you complain and say “this shows the devs don’t understand xyz”. You don’t think decisions are guided by accurate game data?
What do YOU know about developing games? Or balancing an asymmetric 4v1 game with a micro and macro game? Please share your knowledge that’s superior to the devs. We would love to hear it.

It might be effective but having just come from a game like that you can't blame people finding it not fun and frustrating and ask for change. I really don't know how they solve it though without making it too hard on killers.
On a side note. I know the killer doesn't know my play but I've had killers that could have killed me off but took mercy and left me alone. I always let them kill me in the end.
I know it’s sucks to be tunneled. I go out of my way to not tunnel people and show mercy, even if they make huge mistakes (running right back into me, etc). But people asking for changes like this is ridiculous.
The most they should do is revert the DS nerf.

Here we need to put a pin, IS DbD COMPETITVE game, or is it suitable for casual players. Because if BHVR try to sit on both chairs, it won't work.
- Pro-streamers almost never tunnel. I can say because I watch them frequently.
- Majority of players don't care about competitiveness, they play game to have fun. When you are destroyed in 2-3 minutes from the start, it is not healthy. That's from my experience too, but besides that, tunneling issue (let alone camping) is being brought up every now and then.
I just added some ideas. Because if something make the game less fun, it has to go. Otherwise we could just down survivors number to 3 and remove all objects on the map for killer pleasure.
This is coming from killer main btw (truth to say "killer enjoyer" because I like playing killer, but have to play survivor too for all undone achievements are only there, sadly)
That’s false lol. D3ad plays tunnels all the time if he needs pressure / somebody out of the game, and he’s one of the best killers on the game.
There is literally nothing wrong with tunneling. It’s completely valid and EXTREMELY effective when you need it to be.

The buff would be fine, if they corresponded it with buffs for the weaker killers, but it did not. Nurse and Blight are going to be all that anyone sees now, like this literally kills off 90% for the roster, it puts Huntress, who was already slipping tiers, down to B tier at most now. Reloads just became even more inefficient.
Nurse, Blight, Wesker, Spirit, Artist are now the only viable killers at top 5% mmr, and you will be forced to run slowdown on all but Nurse and Blight. Then there is Nurses new chase music, which completely removes her ability to hear sounds other then the chase music.
Devs should have held off on the gen progress percentage until they had some buffs for the weaker killers. But nah, that would be logical.
According to the kill rates. This is completely false.

Skybilly was Billy's ability to gain momentum while airborne. That did not allow you to leave the map. It did however allow you to use his power in creative ways to try and maybe get a hit on a harvester (which is now impossible without engravings and very inconsistent with engravings) or get a little boost to his mobility by jumping over certain tiles blocking your path.
What you are referring to is "Spacebilly". Nobody is upset that this was fixed. It's a bug that somehow glitches dbd's physics in a way that changes the vector of Billy's momentum when bumping while falling of a ledge, catapulting him to absurd hights.
Again I 100% agree that CJ techs are easily countered. But that is beside the point. It is an exploit. The killer can prevent it but the keybinds can not be changed to different keys.
Imo if we start fixing techs for the sake of fixing techs, then they should ALL be addressed.
How is it an exploit???
-
They will open the locker and hit you. I tried it lol.

Remember Skybilly? The reasoning behind removing that was because it was unintended. It wasn't broken. You got no advantage by doing that. It was just fun. They removed it anyway and made him feel even more clunky than he already was. If the sole purpose of removing techs is to remove unintended things, then they should remove all of them without exceptions.
A game without all of the fun techs would be so cut and dry. I wouldn’t say it’s unintended. Obviously the devs know about it… it’s not a game breaking bug or anything. It’s just a goofy tech utilizing animations / actions.
-
Don’t know why you’re complaining when this is going to lead to killer buffs if it changes the kill rates too much.
Solo q needs the love.

I agree but since the devs are working on removing different techs this should go as well. I don't really have an issue with either of these. Free grab after all. But removing some techs and then letting others in the game doesn't seem right to me.
Disagree. Locker saves were patched out because many sets ups were completely uncounterable with 2 skilled survivors.
Cj techs are EXTREMELY counterable and punishing if the killer doesn’t fall for it.
No reason to patch something out that’s just for fun and isn’t broken in any way.
-
Survivors can already give up at the slightest experienced inconvenience. If killers could too, we’d hardly ever see full games.
Survivor - gives up after going down too fast.
Killer - gives up after first gen pops too fast.
ETC ETC.
Not a great idea.
-
CJ’s and locker CJ’s are so easy to predict and it’s another free grab. Don’t really see them as an issue. If they successfully make you fall for it, then they deserve the save. They are merely extreme risk techs for the sake of having fun / being flashy.
I think I’ve been CJ teched once and never fell for it again.

I feel like OP is completely missing the point of why they lost. If a teammate quit at the start of the match, then of course you're going to lose. It doesnt matter what killer you vs, 3v1 with more than 2 gens to complete is a stretch for most players. Demanding that blight be nerfed because your teammate didnt want to play the game is the absolute wrong conclusion. As far as him being "OPAF", that is an exaggeration. OPAF is something like launch legion or forever freddy. Blight is one of the few killers that force survivors to play around their power and is a good thing! In an ideal world, all killers would be able to do this. Survivors SHOULD be wary of taking chases with killer, because they are not meant to be able to 1v1 the killer. Don't get me wrong, Alch ring, c33 and adrenaline vial to a lesser extent need tune ups, but nerfing his basekit? Now that's insanity!
Agreed 100%. I don’t think AV needs a nerf though.

But... those aren't what make the Killers problematic.
Like, you're saying that Nurse should have even less mobility than normal Killers. Without the new Campbell's Last Breath, her point to point mobility isn't any better than an M1 Killer's (she ignores obstacles, which is the strong part, and her instantaneous speed catches people off guard). Making her teleport slower isn't a balance pass, it's fundamentally destructive to the Killer's ability to function: it creates a situation where even well-targeted and well-timed blinks would be avoidable, just because of enforcing slow transit time.
And for Blight, you'd fundamentally take away the Killer's ability to play around areas with obstacles, or loops, except for the people already really good with the alchemist vial. Which shows that at best you'd just raise the skill floor to do anything a ton and annoy a lot of people (not everyone that plays a Killer has god-tier mechanical abilities at it), and at worst overnerf it so much that entire maps become unplayable either because you can't line up something to slam into or avoid things when you need to. Plus a similar issue if you target the speed instead: less dangerous, easier to dodge, loses the whole mobility aspect, requires even more obstacles that he can hit (because speed factors into maximum distance factors into when obstacles are needed), and in general doesn't fix the parts that are actually broken.
Nurse's problem is a fundamental design one: she goes through walls and can't be looped. Making her teleport much slower won't change those parts, it just makes the experience miserable in a "punish the people that enjoy Nurse" way. That isn't balancing, it's trying to force people out of playing something you don't like.
Blight's problem, as everybody except you seems to agree, is that he has some incredibly stupid addons that just lead to infinite power usage and instadowns.
Then again, you've made threads complaining about regression perks, complaining about aura perks, and now complaining about any Killer that managed to get a 4k from people being stupidly altruistic. Your balance ideas are seriously out of line with the game in general.
You said it perfectly.

So every killer should just trash solo's in any match without much effort? Sounds like a balanced experience to me, maybe you should play survivor for a while. Yes, mastering Blight takes a while due to maps and stuff (compared to Nurse), but once you're on a specific level you will just win most your games, if you have some talent for him and know how to efficiently play killer in general. The game isn't supposed to be balanced around "Shadowborn and nothing else" lol, imagine you could easily win without perks against a good swf with 4x4 meta perks. I played Spirit in comp tournaments for a while against heavily coordinated teams and great chasers and even i lose many of my matches in pubs if i don't use perks or add-ons with her (she's weaker than Blight though). As i said, once you get to a certain level, there is not much even a good team can do against a good Blight on many balanced maps. But in the end it depends on maps, perks and add ons a lot.
Did I say that? I play survivor just as much as I play killer. Even after 1200 hours of blight, I have no mastered him. His skill ceiling is THAT high. Your cannot compare majority of blight to somebody who has put as many hours as I have into him. Yea, I can compete against some teams with only shadowborn, because I’ve grinded his basekit for soooo long.

No. Why do you need to exaggerate? If nurse is too fast, then adjust her being able to go from A to B in 1.2 secs to 1 second. See how it goes. If it’s too much, adjust it to 1.1. I mean… why is it so complicated? I realize you want to maintain the mechanics and feel of the killer so this does that. If Blight can turn x degrees in x seconds then adjust that by some small amount to make it less strong. This isn’t rocket science. But the devs take so GD long to do anything we over talk this stuff.
You realize blight has already received many nerfs on this right?

So i'm confused as to what the problem is by your logic?

Then fix it to be that size all the time. He doesn't need an Oni or Demo size hitbox. It looks wrong visually given the size of his weapon and greatly contributes to the frustration of playing against him.
It’s necessary with the speed of blight. If you go against blights that’s do not know how to shoulder flick, it is beyoonddd easy to spin every single lethal rush.

A. Shrink his hitbox to Wesker's size. Getting hit by a cane when you're 90 degrees to the side (or visually more with latency) is infuriating.
B. Rework several add ons that massively increase his potential.
C. Fix the aforementioned bugs/techs that allow him to bypass loops where he would otherwise have to chase as a m1 killer.
Pick 2
His hitbox is about the size of weskers UNLESS he attacks while flicking in either direction. His straight forward hitbox is probably the size of weskers pre buff.

I do feel we're at an impasse. I think most agree that everything should be balanced but it isn't there yet. I believe that we seem to be heading toward an unrealistic target of 'making solos as strong as swfs' so we can leave strong killers alone to appease killers. The goal should be balance, whether its strengthening or weakening is irrelevant. But it aggravates me and boggles my mind that BHVR chooses to balance to outliers and disregard the huge majority of their player base.
Thanks to the Trapper that also made a great point I wanted to bring up. There is a similar argument, and it's been made before by many, I've seen prominent streamers say it as well, that any killer can 4k consistently. I think this is true but I'm also not opposed to strengthening the lowest performing ones.
Finally to the people that 'contributed' by just labelling it all as complaining and not putting the time in to get better, and the 'where does it stop?' group. I'd ask you to just open your eyes and look at the state of the game. Nurse and Blight WAY overperform vs solo teams. Games end quickly because one person almost always quits early because the game is hopeless. When no one quits, the game ends quickly because it's mostly hopeless. You can't disregard the complaints. You can't say 'we cant keep changing things' just because you like the status quo. That's life. Things need to be fixed all the time. It never ends. But sometimes those changes, when done right, result in longer periods of stability and happiness. BHVR has done a terrible job with Nurse and Blight IMO and the survivor community has been responding by ending games on their own terms. That's a fact, and we should take an open minded, informed approach to fixing it.
Ok, so let me ask you, how would YOU fix blight? What nerf would be enough to accomplish what you believe in while keeping him viable. What happened to billy should not happen to any killer.

Apologies, Sir Hug. But as a trapper main, I'd happily show any and all the might of the OG. People just need to put time into these killers. The people complaining about Blight likely haven't even touched him. Learn him a bit and that will improve you as a survivor. Why is this difficult to understand, OP? Play Blight in customs, learn a few things, and BOOM, you're literally a better survior.
Edit: After reading more posts, I feel it will never be resolved. People will choose to complain til things change instead of improving themselves. I do not understand this logic.
I have utmost respect for the OG!! But yes, it is a never ending battle unfortunately.

Correct me if I’m wrong but when you say you play with no addons and 1 perk at times… and you lost at least once to a swf that way…. It seems to me that you probably play that way versus solos successfully most of the time and that occasionally you probably beat good swfs with that build. So when you said earlier that only certain addons need to be adjusted… that doesn’t jibe. Clearly if you can win pretty regularly with no actual perks or addons, you would probably do fine with a weaker Blight but with perks and addons. It would take getting used to but you’d probably adjust and do fine. I mean I understand the desire to not have your favorite killer nerfed but I also think people need to be honest and fair and just maybe admit that these killers are too strong and, though it wouldn’t be fun for them, they could adjust if they were tweaked down in strength.
Running only shadow born I’ve lost plenty of times, loss being defined as 2k or less. I’m saying the games get significantly harder to 3-4k. The games often go to 1 gen left to exit gates being open.
Yes, of course I don’t want my favorite killer nerfed. But I truly do not believe he needs it outside of an addon pass.
-
How about you go around and cleanse all the totems. Boom, no noed.
-
My super sweat build - DH, windows, adrenaline, and either CoH or resilience.
Another build I’ve been having a ton of fun and success with is - sprint burst, vigil, self aware, adrenaline. Paired with a nice flashlight. If you can properly 99 a SB, it works wonders. I get tons of beam saves with it.

Well, but this adds another piece to the puzzle. It’s killer vs survivors. Killers are SUPPOSED TO BE roughly all equivalent. Different powers and play styles, but all are supposed to be about the same strength. And I think you agree whatever this strength level is, it should match fairly against survivor teams. So, my argument is that, since solo is not getting any stronger, we need to bring the strongest killers down. For the sake of argument, I think Billy is one of the most balanced. A great player can wreck a team but he has limits to his turning, etc that can be accounted for but not always beaten. Oni is strong but fair. Wesker, Dredge… there are lots of solid killers that aren’t as OP as Nurse and Blight. I think Spirit is much more fair since the nerf. I would be fine with buffing some of the weakest killers to these levels. But making everything Nurse/Blight level? That’s insane.
I agree to an extent. But my main issue with going that route is it leaves the strong SWF’s unchecked. I am a firm defender that you cannot penalize players for playing with friends, it just isn’t right. So if we can’t nerf SWF, and we nerf the ONLY killers that can put a fighting chance against strong SWF’s then they are going to completely run the game even more than they already do.
A billy is still getting wrecked by decent survivors. Pre nerf billy was fantastic. I believe oni needs a buff for early game, as all you have to do is pre drop and starve him of an early hit. Wesker is in a pretty balanced place. I think spirit is addon dependent. Dredge is ehh. His anti loop is laughable at times.

Blight needs the nurse treatement with his addons Ring (rework and nerf), Compound 33 (rework and nerf), Vial (rework OR big nerf), Double speed (alone they are fine combined they arent and could remain as his strongest addons) compound 21 is a discussable one (could work as iridiscent addon so he still gets strong addons) and finally Iri tag could remain as his strongest addon but with some changes or nerfs to speed or something.
I disagree. The only ones I’ll say need a rework would be alch ring and c33.
The speed addons make his power very punishing if you miss your rush or slide off something.
Adrenaline vile completely changes the way you have to use his power. A noobie blight is not using adrenaline vile effectively.
C21 is fine the way it is?
Blight tag takes an insurmountable amount of bump knowledge and planning. Hardly any blights run this, and if they do, they will likely not get any value.

But dude… do you realize what you’re saying? You dumb the game down for yourself for fun. And mention getting beat by a 4 man swf, but only playing him without addons and 1 perk. Winning is like just a fact. You have the luxury of experimenting with occasionally losing. I put tons of hours into the game but MY daily experience is struggling to find ways to have fun while constantly losing. You (and by extension most killers who have put the time in to be good or better) are spoiled AF.
Ok, but I have 1000 hours in blight… Of course I’m going to stomp many of the teams I come across when I go full load out and addons. Anybody who puts that amount of time into a single skill is going to be good at it.
BUT, majority of players are NOT on a 1,000 Hour blight main level.
While you say blight is too strong and is stomping teams, what about the people who main Freddy? Or pig? Or trapper? All the other killers that get bullied and BM’d all day by even SOLO Q lobbies. Because it happens. I do it all the time when I play survivor. How is that being spoiled?

@Audiophile said:
Sorry but saying Blight has a lot of weaknesses is overstating it. Just stick to the basic facts: He is top 2 along with Nurse. They are the ones that can beat the best 4 man swfs. That says it all. Average and above Blights and Nurses destroy solo teams all day long. It’s so common that people quit as soon as they recognize the killer is Blight or Nurse. These are simple facts. It’s not ‘survivor entitlement’. It’s loss fatigue. It’s people like me that recognize that as much experience and skill that they have, they still get beat handily over and over by these 2 killers all the time. They are simply TOO strong. And as stated, it’s because of this consideration toward beating the top swfs, which isn’t fair for non-top-swfs, and shows a killer bias.(Why aren’t things balanced so solo teams can handle the strongest killers?). I don’t blame my teammates when they quit these games early. I understand. It’s just part of the game now.
These survivor HUD changes… cool. They help us know what’s going on but again, lets not overstate their impact. I can see 3 teammates not on gens. I can’t say, “hey guys… some gen pressure?” We can’t communicate to each other what we see or suggested actions… It’s just extra helpful info. No way is this little spritz of water going to stop the garbage fire of solo queue. We can’t bring solo queue up to the level where Nurse/Blight matches are fair. Not unless maybe… we get 2x more players in the game and skew matchmaking toward accuracy vs speed. Since this isn’t going to happen, we need things to lighten up and these killers to not be so insanely strong. So yeah… maybe this would mean you get stomped by killer swfs on those rare occasions you face them. You’d have to learn to deal with it. Solo survivors have had to accept loss as the norm for a very long time now. We lose the majority of our games. We’re kind of tired of it. Make things fair BHVR.
Ok, yes, he is a very strong killer, ONLY if you put the hours in to learn him. So many people try blight, get absolutely bullied and don’t play him again. I have put a large chunk of my playtime into blight (over 1k hours). Blight as he is, is completely balanced. The common ground I will give you, is a couple of his addons could use rework (alch ring & c33).
Many times I will load into a game with no addons, and only shadowborn and it leads to some considerably close games. Last night I had a SWF 4 man out against me addonless. His basekit is not OPAF as you say.

Were you playing survivor earlier today around lunch time? I went against a survivor named Mr_K!

You’re wrong. 10k hours is just outside the range for baby survivor. And I don’t give af about bullying killers. I like tough but fair games. The hard fought ones that end in 2ks are great. The problem is Nurse and Blight games are always 3-4ks. Mostly 4ks. Now let me spell it out for you:
It’s not about increasing everything. It’s about balance. If you’re advocating making solo queue as strong as swf, then theoretically you could just make swf as weak as solo queue. If you could do that then you could nerf certain killers to make things more of a 50% win ratio, by level. The reason I tend to call for nerfs is because your proposal will NEVER HAPPEN. Solo queue will never be as strong as SWF so we need to stop acting like it can be and thus leaving killer balanced to your rare killer SWF. But in the interest of finding common ground… if your proposal COULD work, sure. I’d be all for it, because it’s simple proposing to make everything fair which should end up at a 50% win ratio balanced by level. I’m saying the same thing but saying that solo queue is the variable that needs to be accounted for much more seriously. You can’t jsut make it stronger and leave everything else as-is. You’re going to have to make some things weaker and bring things down to solo queue level.
10k hours and you can’t run a blight?…. C’mon dawg…
Ok… but are they not going along that route now? The devs already stated they are bridging the gap between solo and SWF and will buff killer accordingly, just as I said.

Hmm. But blight takes skill. And that isn't sarcasm. I've tried blight and I'm awful at hitting lethal rush. Only reason I managed my adept is from a streamer AFKing at the beginning of the match so I could hook them then tunnel them out early and M1 the rest of the team.
I will admit a good blight is super frustrating. Distance means nothing to them and they require a much different play style in chase. But blight has weaknesses, one of my friends is an absolute artist at baiting blights into launching themselves off of mounds and stairs or making them drop into holes.
This. I understand a good blight is frustrating, but a good blight is uncommon. He has a lot of weaknesses, it’s just majority of survivors don’t try to learn them, and continue to try and do chase like they can with every other killer. And that simply doesn’t work against a good blight who can exploit that. Such as still trying to hold W or greed a pallet against a blight that can flick.
