  • Not that she isn't strong, but I much prefer playing against her than somebody like a Pig or facecamping Bubba.

  • It's because people care about their own fun more than the 4 other people playing the match usually.

  • It's good for situations where you'd want a delayed blind, such as not having to stay at a pallet for a pallet blind, or blinding a killer around a corner.

  • The real question is why you post on a forum you claim to be "killer main central" about an opinion you clearly don't want changed?

Let alone being a post about a certain killer always being toxic, and you expect a "killer main central" forum to not disagree.

    Bait?

You wouldn't have enough to buy another purple cosmetic piece. You have enough to at most buy 1 rare cosmetic piece but either way you still need to pay $10. The devs get $10 no matter what.

The two pieces of the skin are still only 800 auric cells, which still isn't the equivalent to 10 dollars, meaning the other auric cells could go toward something that goes on sale later, rift levels, or just part of a new piece that comes out in the future. At this point you're just trying to play semantics.

  • You do realize that even if you were to buy $10 worth of auric cells, that you would still have leftover cells, and therefore would not be paying the equivalent of 10$ for those two pieces? Right?

Sounds like someone is upset they can’t play toxic. Go figure. This entire forum is a killer main complain fest. Us survivor players are honestly sick of it.

Yea, so sick of it you seem to feel entitled to disconnect because of your poor attitude.

A friend of mine got it and it was along the lines of "reach maximum mutation 4 times".

Pretty bad daily if you ask me lol

This is correct, I got the daily immediately after purchasing the DLC. TBH I still haven't even done it because I don't even understand what it wants me to do. I think it was just the wording that threw me off.

  • No. Unless you think perks only being usable on a few killers is a problem.

Otherwise, it's a "hey take away 1 of my 4 perk slots within 10 seconds of the game" perk, and I'm not a big fan of that.

  • They said they're working on one, but that's all I'm aware of. Just that it's in the works, not out yet.

  • Not particularly. I have a couple I gravitate toward, usually because I like their aesthetic or something (Doc and Blight are some of my favorites) but other than that, I tend to just play whatever I'm feelin' at the moment. Some characters I tend to avoid due to either not liking to abuse OP things (like Spirit or Nurse), or they just have some BS I don't like (Ghostface is a character I wanna like but I hate his detection mechanics.)

  • Maybe they want to practice and play the game?

  • Well, if the cosmetic you're wearing sticks out, my guess is that in a roundabout way, people assume that survivors that wear cosmetics like that want to stick out, because they are confident in their chase skills or something.

I don't really care if people wear bright cosmetics or whatever, I think a lot of them look ugly (like some of Nea's) but personally I'm not gonna give you crap for your crown lol

I wouldn't doubt it. Solo Q can be an absolute nightmare. Usually is haha. Just adds to the frustrations of everything else 😅

One piece of advice, that admittedly might not be the best, is if you're solo queue, try to play like you might imagine a solo person might act in this situation. You're in a realm with a bunch of people you don't know trying to survive against the entity, so looking after your own skin, as obvious as it might sound, is probably one of the best ways you can reduce stress on your solo experience. A lot of randoms I play with tend to be very altruism-hungry, so as long as I try to do my best to clear out middle gens to widen the gen spread, try to stealth when I can, and try to loop well when I'm forced, the games usually go pretty smoothly.

The majority of the time I find myself getting stressed is when I let myself start caring about what my team mates are doing. Ultimately I can just leave everybody if I'm fairly confident that they aren't very smart, and just look for hatch instead. When I start caring and thinking "oh maybe I should try to be a good person," is when things usually go downhill and I end up getting killed in 1 hook when I should have just kept my survival in mind.

Yea, long story short: try to save your own skin a little bit more. That usually helps me feel less stressed during solo runs.

  • You can literally just look at where you're going with the side of your screen instead of the middle and it's enough to fool Spine Chill.

  • Personally I think the best tip is to try your best not to care about the end result of the game, just the adventure through it. Kills and stopping gens aren't usually my goal as much as trying to play to the best of my ability. Landing as many shots as I can on Huntress, blinking as accurately as I can as Nurse, drifting as well as I can on Blight, etc.

If I feel like I played decently and had a chance, usually that's enough for me to have fun. Also making up little side objectives, like targeting a certain survivor that's extra cocky or something. Just don't get too distracted with trying to "win." DbD has no ultimate set "win condition."

That's mostly my tip: it's all about the journey, not the destination. Work on things during the moment, and good results will come.

  • Good PSA. Unfortunately for me, I already completed mine.

  • Personally, I think it's balanced. It does depend on the current patch of the game though. Sometimes survivors have gotten really screwed over by certain changes, and sometimes killers do. While some changes made are stupid, I don't think they're necessarily target at either side. I feel like the game just kinda ends up in certain stages of balance, and the devs try to push it back toward the middle usually.

Definitely not to say that there's never been times where killer sucked to play or survivor sucked to play. Examples: current mori-vs-key situation makes me hate killer sometimes, but being a solo queue player and especially back before Nurse got her update, I would constantly be running against 5 blink Nurses. Just really depends what BHVR got in store for us that month/patch.

Don't waste your time with this person, I'm 99% sure they're the same person as SurviveByDaylight who got banned and is back to troll some more.

They even used the same exact argument here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1235030#Comment_1235030 and very similar writing style.

I'm unfortunately aware of that user you're talking about. I have had to deal with their nonsense several times on the forums, so unfortunately I have to be a little glad they got booted.

Regardless, it gets hard to tell who's trolling/baiting and who isn't anymore, especially on a forum where so many people are throwing out ideas. I figure I might as well get my comment out to reach people and maybe change a mind or two, even if it isn't the person I'm directing my comment at. Some people are right on the cusp of a realization, and all they need is a good counterargument or two to change their mind.

Unfortunately though, like I said, it's hard to tell sometimes whether people are genuine or not. I'm just here to discuss one of my favorite games, since I feel like I have a relatively fair way of putting things :)

Then why release stats at all? If they do not want people misinterpreting the stats, why show them at all.

Also can they give an example of how people would misread the stats?

Just google "op.gg" and you can look at pick/win rates across region and rank. What builds are most popular and their win rates. It's great.

I just think they don't want to share the stats as it would put some of their nerfs/buffs into question. The best example being what they did to Billy.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2279618#Comment_2279618

Yeah but then they can get called out on that. If we have all the stats, and people willingly ignore some, then other people can call it out.

op.gg existing is one thing. I don't think that's Riot giving stats out themselves though, that's some people running a website unrelated to Riot. Unless op.gg is affiliated with Riot and I was just unaware of that. It's like the same reason leak accounts exist, like leaks by daylight.

There actually is a similar site for DbD, althought the URL/name escapes me at this moment, but you can literally look up users by their steam profile and looks up specific stats like how many games they've played, how many were a 4k, how many traps they've set as trapper, how many times they've escape through the gate, how many times they've escaped through hatch, how many times they've done either of those things while crawling, etc. People can go and dig this info up if they want, but I can't think of a lot of companies that are handing out all their stats themselves.

  • No complaints there. I wasn't a big fan of the idea somebody else had of completely shutting them off for now though, that will not do.

  • Unfortunately the incapacitated effect only applies to survivors holding the gen when it explodes I believe. I feel like it could have a small area that disables survivors, like maybe Prove Thyself range (a couple meters, nothing huge) because 16 seconds honestly isn't an insane amount if the survivor can just go run to a different gen.

I personally do like the perk though, since it is unique in that debuff it gives. Most regressions can be countered by a survivor hopping right on a gen when you leave the area, but Eruption takes that option away at least for a little bit to give you room to breathe. I've been considering running it with Surge to see if I can constantly be blowing up gens from afar and taking away chunks of regression, but I haven't tested it yet so not sure if it would work well together, if at all even.

  • If anything, I just think of Old Freddy. People hate going against a killer that can hit them when they can't see them. Maybe Spirit should just be able to go into a "spirit realm" where she somehow can bring certain survivors into the realm that can't see her when she's in the real realm, and vice versa. Also when she's in the spirit realm, as per usual, survivors wouldn't be able to see her.

So - Physical realm: can't see or hit survivors in the spirit realm, but can hear them, same effects for survivor on Spirit.

Spirit realm: can't see or hit survivors in the real world, but can hear them, same effects for survivor on Spirit.

Pretty much an old Freddy, if Freddy could take himself out of the dream state and hit survivors. Then maybe Spirit could like, break up the team and cause confusion between the survivors as to where she might actually be? Maybe have two survivors in the spirit realm running around scared while she has two people in the physical realm that she's actually chasing, being unable to be seen by the ones in the spirit realm.

Everyone is complaining so much about these bugs. Do they suck? Yes.

But I have seen person after person attacking Behavior and you know what? It's so uncalled for. By keeping this up, you'll make the team want to stop giving us amazing chapters like these.

Of course there's going to be bugs with the release of a chapter. There will always be bugs with the release of a chapter. They can't possibly find every single bug before they release it. Plus, their testing is only with a fraction of the player base. You can't expect them to test the game with a small amount of people and then release it to thousands of people and have there be no bugs. It just doesn't work like that.

Relax. They WILL be fixed. You don't need to be playing DbD 24/7. Let them do their job, thank them for their work, maybe go outside for ONCE in your life, and then come back when it's finished.

If you don't like these bugs every chapter, then just stop playing. Find a new game. We don't want to be a crappy community who hates on the developers. Making games is hard work.

TLDR: if you're mad about bugs, just find a new game. There will always be bugs at first, stopp harassing the developers.

You think people want them to keep giving us chapters like this? If anything you're encouraging them when you say that they'll make the team want to stop giving us these "amazing" chapters (heavy sarcasm on the "amazing.")

Not that I condone threatening employees or whatever, but telling people to just stop playing is one of the worst things you could say. I'll never understand when people are so simple to say this, that they don't understand no fixes = no players = no money for the company = no game for you. Not to mention games that shrink in popularity tend to get increased queue times (we already see it in individual roles, with killer or survivor queues getting long or short depending on certain changes).

Please edit your post or something.

Edit: Speaking of editing posts... No, when I say "fixes" I do not mean "fix these current bugs." I mean fix what's causing all these problems. It's not just "oh, silly post patch day bugs again." The game is literally unplayable for certain people, the new map that was on the PTB for like 2 weeks or whatever gets taken down day 1 of launch and people don't even get to play it. These are things that indicate internal problems. Those problems need to be fixed.

  • Like the Saw franchise, kinda, but the Pig is terrible to play against. Don't know if we're talking about the franchise itself, but I just hate the killer.

My thoughts exactly! A sound effect would go a long way! A “squish” of blood or a “crack” of bone or even a comic-book-style “bam” or “pow”!

I think what it feels like in my brain is almost like "punching their aura." You throw the fist, you see them get hurt and run, but it's almost like you're just kinda punching air lol

  • They've made it clear that the reason they're so stingy with stats is because they don't want to give people any ammunition to misinterpret things. Funny you bring up League as an example, because Riot was the same way as long as I played (I gave up other than playing very casually) a few years ago. Maybe they've changed since then, but I think it's understandable that they don't want to cause an uproar by people misinterpreting stats that they don't understand.

  • I don't see why not. If we're paying a premium price, we might as well have the skin we get be treated like its own unique survivor. I'm not a fan of coming out with a new looking skin, slapping on a "legendary" tag, and marking up the price significantly. The new legendary skins this patch (since they at least have their own portraits and names displayed now) are slightly better, especially with the Chris and Claire skins having their own voice actors entirely, but then...

As a owner of Jonathan Byers, it makes me feel kind of ripped off due to the fact that I have to be stuck with Steve's voice (probably top 3 worst voices in the game IMO) while people who paid the exact same amount of money get characters with unique voices.

Title pretty much sums it up. Billy, Blight, Nurse, Spirit sometimes, any mobile killer using tinkerer is annoying af more often than not. Mind you, I play solo Q so that might add to the frustration. 90% of killers I see running it will often leave chase to push survivors of gens, even when there are 5 up. Just gets annoying. Not to say there aren't survivor perks that can counter it, I know there are, but I don't always have those equipped. I also am well aware some survivor perks seem like absolute crap to killers, and that's totally fair too. Bleh. Rant over.

Not that I think you have no valid complaints in this post, because you do, but ultimately I think what you said about it being solo-queue is probably the real killer here.

I think theoretically, even against mobile killers, if you can get a high value gen (usually a middle gen or something) done and split up a 3 gen, and then start splitting up on gens from there, there's only so much that even a high mobility killer can do to stop all the gens. There's a lot of factors that are going to play into it, like how good you are at looping, how good your team mates are at looping, whether your team mates are actually on gens or just sitting around stealthing, etc. Some games it's definitely going to feel like there's nothing you personally can do, and that's the sad reality of this kind of game. But I don't think tinkerer on mobile killers is busted to the point of being uncounterable, just pretty strong. Not to say that's what you claim either.

  • I don't think there's much we can do but make noise, trust, and wait. We as players don't develop the game, but hopefully BHVR values the game enough to at least keep it playable. Otherwise... Well, I think the next step is quite obvious.

  • I haven't gotten to use it personally (because I don't feel like playin a level 1 Jill RN TBH) but theoretically I think it's probably the strongest totem hunting perk in terms of actual effect. Sure Small Game is a free option that's available. Sure, Detective's Hunch might give me information on where multiple totems are. But the way I see it, as long as I trust in my good totem knowledge, I shouldn't be spending much time hunting for them anyway since there's usually 2 or 3 easy ones to find on a map.

Main reason I think it's the strongest is because it's the only perk, from my memory at least, that actually increases your own totem cleansing speed, therefore saving you time and speeding up your game. I don't count Leader here, because almost nobody runs that and the people that do I imagine are using it for their team mates to heal/unhook them faster, and aren't lingering around totem areas for their team mates to benefit from it.

  • I agree with some people that it is a potential buff, but not so long as keys exist in their current state. They did announce planned changes to keys, but if I'm being honest, I'm not super happy with the fact that they decided to nerf moris such a long time before they did anything to keys.

The patch that the mori change happened, they could have literally just removed keys/moris from the game entirely, at least temporarily, and I would have been more satisfied with the outcome. The fact that they chose one to nerf and left the other side with their strong item just feels so wrong.

  • I find it pretty redundant, since even as Plague you can trap a survivor if you find them hiding in a corner and 1-2 them with an infection and an M1. The fact that Nemesis' infection counts as a smack is odd to me.

  • @Chappy01 said:

Nemesis is too strong in his current form.

    -He builds mutation brain-deadingly fast

-tentacle strike is an OP version of pyramid heads judgement. it comes out faster, cancels faster, and breaks pallets even if you miss the survivor.

-even if you loop nemesis perfectly, a zombie will wander over to you eventually and stop the loop. nemesis doesn't have to do anything, it just happens.

tentacle strike needs to be nerfed the same way judgement was nerfed. punish nemesis for spamming tentacle by giving him more recovery lag and for constantly "fishing" for random hits at loops.

oh, and once you use vaccines, thats it. they're gone. 4 vaccines (3 with add-on) is not enough. at least with plague you can gain the fountain back after she drinks from it. imagine playing against a plague but once you use a fountain you can never use it ever again? yea, it would feel pretty #########. my fix: have vaccines respawn after a couple of minutes.

nemesis shuts down every single loop in the game. tentacle strike is just judgement on steroids and you can't fake a vault or pallet throw or else he will just cancel it and M1 for the down.

You don't even have your info right. Pyramid Head's cooldown wasn't increased, it was lowered. Assuming your post isn't bait, just hold W. He literally takes 3 hits to down you with his power and you can get a free sprint burst off two of those. Even an incompetent survivor is capable of holding W to the edge of the map and wasting the killer's time.

  • @Aneurysm said:

The only killer that can get to you fairly quickly but without warning (assuming no add-ons) is wraith though. Otherwise lethal pursuer has shown me survivors that spawn practically within my radius but that's more spawns being stupid.

I would say even at that point, even Wraith has a warning of sorts (I mean, he has to actually go through an uncloak to be able to hit you.) Just a small criticism though. I still agree with what you said overall.

    @TheClownIsKing said:

I respect that Killers have needed something to start gaining momentum early game for a long time. However I’m already disliking Lethal Pursuer, not because I think it’s unhealthy, but because of how semi regularly on maps like Shelter Woods, most Cold Wind maps, Ormond, Swamp, you can spawn in dead zone with not enough time to get anywhere reasonable before hearing the killer on top of you.

The fortunate side though, is that it's a one-and-done effect. I already thought it was pretty garbage on a majority of killers, and even one of the killers that can use it well (Nurse) doesn't really need perks to win anyway. Now that they buffed it my feelings haven't changed a bit. So even if you get spawned in a dead zone, at least the worst that might happen is you take an injury and have to run away, and then you're playing against a 3 perk killer. Plus they can only really pressure 1 survivor if people are smart enough to split when they see the killer.

Best I can say is to just know your maps. Most dead zones, granting the killer spawns decently far from you, can be cut through to find at least something within a reasonable time, even if it's just an L-T wall. Can't do much about dead zones and map RNG, but you can at least try to do your best with it and just make do with what small obstacles you have. Then you know to avoid that area.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/257743/keys-mori

It's absolutely ridiculous how persistent of a complaint keys are from killers. Keys are not a free win, not a "crutch" for survivors either. They are essential against killers capable of stomping survivors with busted builds and broken add-ons. Keys merely level the playing field against these killers, killer mains infatuated with stacking slowdown perks such as Ruin/Undying/Pop and running overpowered add-ons such as Mother-Daughter Ring, Alchemist Ring, Wraith All-Seeing. Survivors struggle immensely against killers running stacked regression perks, and oftentimes keys are their only chance of escaping.

They "level the playing field" against those types of killers while being brought against pretty much every other killer who isn't. And you wonder why killers bring those perks.

You must not play killer enough to realize that gens can fly by in a matter of a few minutes if you aren't pressuring enough. Either that, or possibly you play at a lower rank against survivors with less-than-average skill and think that getting a 4K proves that gens aren't too fast.

If you play killer enough, and you play against actually competent survivors that have their one objective of escaping in mind, there isn't a whole lot you can do as most killers to stop them (or all of them at least.) Especially if, like I said earlier, you're a killer who isn't running a crap ton of gen slowdown. Most of my games personally I'm running like 2 slowdowns most (maybe like Oppression and Dying Light on Plague) and other than that, I'm running stuff like Enduring/BBQ/Spies from the Shadows/Stridor or some combo like that. Survivors do not take it easy if you aren't constantly chasing them. Even if they're not good at looping, they can still hold M1 on a gen.

Plus, two people can easily get out through the hatch if they bring a map and key, while only needing to complete I believe it's 3 generators? I could be wrong about that part, but point being, you don't even need to do all the gens in order to use the key. Also, once the key is in the trial, there's nothing the killer can do to take it out anymore. Not to mention even if the killer plays things perfectly, gets 1 survivor left alive, and closes the hatch, the survivor can still run up and unlock it anyway for a free escape. At that point, you're essentially being forced to guard 3 different exits, which is borderline impossible.

"We are going to take action" not the machine or the system is going to take action.

I do agree that calling it auto-ban feature was a poor choice of words

Honestly also common sense. I know we like to point at the devs from time to time but they are not stupid. They also know that if a machine banned people for false reports it would kill the game

That's literally all I said, is that you can't blame people for calling it an auto ban feature when it was literally called exactly that. And lets be real, I don't think everybody trusts them when they say they will take action, and not the system they're creating. Either way, saying they will "take action" if players receive a certain amount of negative reports... I don't think that sounds much better.

  • Seriously, what rank

  • I can't confirm that, as I haven't seen any Nemesis content involving Chris, and personally I've been holding off on Nemesis until I can get non-trash perks on him. But I can confirm the Jill one, and that Leon doesn't get the special "STARS" voiceline event.

  • He does say it when he performs a mori on or grabs Jill out of a locker.

  • I agree, I don't even have to play as the character to know that just from being on the receiving end of a punch of from seeing through videos, it almost sounds like a sound effect should be placed there. Even if it's just some sort of placeholder gushing sound like when Huntress hits a hatchet. That way it would actually give that feedback of "yeeeaaa, I'm doing damage to their body."

  • I've never been one for single player games so I never got a ton of exposure to RE, but I felt the hype for the chapter definitely -- almost palpable. It's a shame that the quality of the chapter itself is rivaling that of the Twins' release.

I'm really hoping other franchise owners don't see this from BHVR and become reluctant to give BHVR access to their licenses.

  • To me it also looks like she's making a weird duck face, but I don't see a lot of people mentioning that part.

  • Gotta love the typical hypocritical complaining about complaining.

  • Only really started opening this thread after this patch, and after noticing the original posting date and number of pages in it.

Even during the tutorials where the maps are tiny and condensed, I was still getting freezes (and this is on PC.) I don't know how a problem goes this long without being taken care of or at the very least addressed, but wow... What a slap in the face.
