  • While some people would like it, I don't see how the character's powers (and in Spirit's case, her animations) would make sense with their "human look". Plague vomiting all over the place and spewing red puke wouldn't make sense if she were in pre-Plague form... and Spirit creaking and twisting around wouldn't make sense at all, not to mention her facial animations.

I don't think Killers are supposed to be good-looking and attractive... except for Pyramid Head 😏

  • I like to play against Pyramid Head the most, I love the chase music and the sounds he makes! I'm also having fun learning how to play against him better.

I don't mind playing against Wraith and Demogorgon either!

  • I know, I learned my lesson last time I tried to play while eating cereal... soggy raisin bran is disgusting... 🀒

Judging by how they fixed this: "Midwich Elementary School: Fixed an issue that caused the Nurse to be able to Blink out of world.", but did not even bother fixing her various unblinkable areas on the map, I highly doubt it they did anything beneficial to killers this patch.

The "unblinkable areas" on Midwich are actually just places where obstacles are in the way. If you try to blink through the floor to an area and the blink location is on an obstacle, Nurse won't blink there--which means the classrooms are FILLED with unblinkable locations!

They're not fixing it because it isn't something to be fixed... πŸ˜›

  • If you stay awake all the time (which really isn't that hard to do), Freddy is just an M1 Killer that has decent map control with his teleport. He's only really oppressive on smaller maps like Haddonfield.

A lot of people who think he's OP are also the people who sit on the generator while Freddy is teleporting to it, and then get hit... πŸ˜›

  • I already don't use meta perks too much on either side, so my typical Survivor build is Kindred, Windows of Opportunity, Pharmacy and Lightweight. By the way, Windows of Opportunity really is a great perk for avoiding dead zones, used pallets and planning out your escape route! πŸ˜›

And for Killer, I mainly play Nurse, Wraith and Deathslinger, so I would use Make Your Choice, Discordance, Iron Maiden and probably Knock Out or Brutal Strength. I usually use Monitor and Abuse on Nurse and Corrupt Intervention on Deathslinger, so I had to switch those out... but I always love using Iron Maiden (especially on Nurse and Wraith), and Discordance is base on nearly every Killer I play! Make Your Choice also comes in handy on all three, so I have been using it in every game as of late! And having a flat increase to breaking speeds is always nice with Brutal Strength.

Its honestly very far fetched and very stupid speculation imo, it makes more sense for bill to get his other half, a L4D killer. That makes more logical sense seeing how we just got our first video game killer they might wanna roll out another one! They already got bill so all we need now is one of the many special infected to join the ranks of killers in dbd..now who that would be..is up to speculation personally I would love the tank though not sure how to could implement such a behemoth into the game..

I'm thinking the Hunter from L4D2 😏 I think it would be pretty cool! And scary....

  • Like the Jeff above me said, he would be pretty bad if he couldn't cancel his power immediately. I thought the same thing as you whenever I first played against him, but after playing AS him against competent players, dang... he needs all the love he can get.

As for the "torment, 2nd hook, then mori after 2nd hook" technique, you have to admit that it's pretty effective against people who can't hold their own... A.K.A. bad loopers (and bad teammates who unhook unsafely). And if we're trying to make a case against tunneling here, or think that it has no business being in the game... why not? I mean, being tunneled sucks (as a rank 1 solo Survivor, I know this too well), but it can be an effective strategy. Pyramid Head just does it better and more effectively, and makes it so Survivors can't get away with cheeky DS plays or foolish BT hook saves. I honestly don't see anything as "horrible gameplay", except for key gamers and Ebony Moris, since those make for cheap games from both sides. It's all just different strategies.

Personally, I think Pyramid Head needs a buff of some sort, because at the end of the day he's still just an M1 Killer with an easily dodgeable ranged attack. I've won many games against Pyramid Heads because they just can't keep up with the gen times, and he's so badly punished for missing a ranged attack that you might as well just M1.

  • I had to camp the basement yesterday as Old Man because of pesky Survivors. Both exits were also prepped. Funnily enough, my dedication to guarding the top of the basement stairs earned me a 3k versus a 1k (the person who was already in the basement)... got some GGs after the game, too! I guess they realized that they didn't play smartly at the end-game... πŸ˜›

In your case though, I guess you just have to make the choice between points or an ez game. Skipping hooks on Survivors doesn't bode well for your score, but there's always the risk that they gain momentum after they're unhooked and pull off a win. I personally would not have camped in that situation, especially with 5 generators left, since I like for my games to go on a bit longer and earn more BPs in the long run.

Remember: The simple, ez 4k isn't what gets you the points... it's the hooks, hits, chases, e.t.c.!

  • @CookieBaws said:

5 is too much, 3% would do just fine.

I say 5% because that only equals to about 4.5 seconds of repair time! 3% would only be 2.4 seconds, and that wouldn't even cover the amount of time it takes for a Killer to kick the generator. Not to mention that multiple Survivors working on a generator would cover 3% in only about 1.5 seconds or so.... going by that, even 5% isn't enough to cover what multiple Survivors can do, but I think it would be balanced. πŸ˜›

  • I actually just had a wholesome moment with a Plague! I ended up being the last person in the trial due to my teammates hightailing it out as soon as they could, and I was infected, injured and loud as heck. The Plague ended up finding me while I was trying to make my way to the exit and a chase ensued, but while she was chasing me I spotted a crown a little ways away. I went ahead and ran to it and grabbed it because I hadn't found one yet (even though I knew I was dead anyway), and the Plague downed me after I grabbed it.... but she then took me to the hatch and let me escape! Funny to think that me grabbing the crown saved my life in a way.... πŸ˜›

How could you possibly get it though if you have to play a game as that character and collect the crown to obtain it?

I think the OP is talking about the Deathslinger and Claudette cosmetics that you get for logging in.... πŸ˜›

  • I don't own Deathslinger, but I went to his catalog in the shop, selected Show All Items under Filters and it says I own it!

So yes, you get the cosmetics regardless of if you own him or not.

I use to feel that way too but that's why i suggested the rework that the king came up with in his video. The one shot effect would still take place in normal games where the survivors don't cleanse totems but they'd be limited to only one insta down per survivor essentially. So it still punishes them but its not a perk to carry a killer that plays bad or makes bad plays or doesnt pressure enough.

I don't see a problem with that, as long as it stays an effective counter to Adrenaline!

  • Honestly, NOED really isn't that bad. It takes 12 seconds to cleanse a totem, meaning that all 4 Survivors could spend about 30 seconds not doing gens and have all totems cleansed. If I'm scared of NOED (which I rarely see in the higher ranks), I just spend a little bit of time looking for all of the totems and wiping them out at the start, and it really doesn't take too long. You can even take in a rainbow map with range addons for good measure.

The only NOED users I'm scared of are the GOOD players who use it.... truly, no one escapes death against those gamers (haha). However, I think NOED is perfectly fine. It can be rendered useless before the end-game and it can still be cleansed once activated as well. It's also basically a counter of sorts to Adrenaline, which can't be cleansed and is guaranteed to activate once all gens are done/hatch is shut.

  • Nurse, Wraith, Hillbilly, Spirit and Freddy. Nurse because of her ability to circumvent every obstacle (loops, pallets, windows, walls, floors, e.t.c.) in the game and end chases almost instantly, Wraith because of his ability to keep Survivors on their toes and his great map pressure (especially with Windstorm), Hillbilly because of his one-hit down and great map pressure as well, Spirit because she's easy to play and is able to end chases quickly, and Freddy because he also has great map pressure and strong area denial.

  • I personally play my best with Wraith, Nurse and Legion! Wraith has to be my favorite however, as I love going fast and spooking unwary Survivors πŸ˜‹

  • If I take something for healing myself, I usually take Pharmacy. It's a guaranteed heal AND I get to keep it if I escape, so I think it's pretty good, plus the healing is fast as well. Or I'll just take in a gold medkit with bandages and gloves/sponge.

Other than that, I enjoy using Iron Will and Dead Hard so I don't have to worry too much about healing. With those perks I'll play an entire match without getting healed, no problem!

  • Like they said on the recent Q&A, there are some outfits they want to make that would not be mix & matchable due to clipping and things like that. An example of this is Laurie. If they wanted to add more outfits for Laurie that WEREN'T made for her current high-waisted clothing model, they would probably HAVE to make them "sets", as a shirt or bottom that wasn't high-waisted would not mix at all with her current clothing, and would look horrible due to clipping. Likewise, if they wanted to add outfits for other female characters (Nea, Meg, e.t.c.) that involved high-waisted clothing pieces, those high-waisted clothes wouldn't match AT ALL with their current outfits, and would clip when paired with other, non high-waisted clothes. I'm glad that they're employing different methods to bring different styles of clothing to the table for the Survivors.

  • They're just hacking the upcoming Anniversary cosmetics into the game....

  • I play stretched resolution in 1600x1080. It looks perfectly fine and only makes it so my character doesn't take up a third of the screen. It also helps me feel less nauseous while playing Survivor, because having a giant object take up most of my screen at all times makes me dizzy for some reason.... helps my FPS, too ☺️

It's really not as big of an advantage as people claim it to be. It doesn't make the game EZ mode or anything like that. The people you DO need to watch out for are the ones who modify their camera to be higher above their character and things like that, I've seen a couple of them on 4Gamers compilations.

  • Personally, I dislike Blendettes (Claudettes with the full Prestige clothing) because they are usually horrible teammates in my own games. However, as Killer, I'll only keep an eye out for them if they're actively being a detriment to their team. They might die a bit earlier than their teammates, if you know what I mean πŸ˜‰

Sadly, there are a lot of people who play this game who feel entitled to purposefully ruin other peoples' games just for their choice of character. And sadly, there's nothing that can really be done about it. In your case, you might try wearing brighter clothing as many Claudette haters will specifically target Claudettes who are wearing darker clothes!

Nope, it's been like this for ... a while... but it sure has gotten worse lately.

I got matched against green / yellow ranks while i'm a Rank 1 Killer, playing as Demo

Just today, I've gotten a few matches with green ranks as survivor, even though i'm red rank, all of my teammates + killer were green ranks

DBD Matchmaking hella lookin' like a rainbow lately.

This actually just started happening to me.... thankfully, I just got matched with red ranks. Thought I was completely cursed!

  • I just experienced this twice in a row as well, both were wearing Julie's body and the "Frosty Eyes" mask.

  • I had this exact thing happen to me, except it was against a Legion. End-lobby screen said that they were playing Plague instead.

Fortnite was made for children to be able to play "non violent" shooters that didn't have blood or the classic amount of violence. I don't care about fortnite. Let's compare a realistic example though friend. Destiny 2 is a free game that releases $25-$60 dlc. Within that dlc it includes a full years worth of content, over a dozen armors and weapons, countless new missions, 4 seasons of content that just add on top of the previously stated amounts, and dedicated updates for player complaints and bug fixes. A $25 dlc for 2 characters and a reskin is pretty pathetic. It's absurd and I can't believe youre unable to see that.

Maybe take a look at Warframe and League of Legends (both free games).... skins for League REGULARLY cost $10-15 with people paying even $25 for certain skins (which are NOT AT ALL worth it). Warframe charges up to $140 for "Prime Access", which includes a character that is basically just a recolor of it's base skin with a few stat changes that aren't even worth mentioning (yes, it includes other things like paid currency and weapon reskins as well, but my goodness. $140 is absolutely insane).

We're not talking about a DLC, we're talking about a skin. Skins don't change any aspect of gameplay and are purely cosmetic. I'm honestly surprised that this is the first skin they've released that's over $10 in the ~4 years DbD has been out.

Looks like lag probably, on the killer's side he probably clearly hit you before the pallet went down. Look at the way the killer jitters around and such.

I understand, but I really wasn't feeling lag the entire game and I definitely know when I'm lagging! It could have been a random spike, but I feel like that is unlikely since I rarely have that happen, and normally the little dial will appear in the upper left-hand corner when it does.

Also, it might look a little jittery because it's a 25 FPS gif.... πŸ˜“

Not sure about Merciless, but Adept Killer achievements should be: 4 kills with only the killer's 3 unique perks equipped.

That is a fantastic idea! Although people could cheese it with an ebony mori.... but hey, Survivors can cheese it with a key, so I guess that's fair.

  • I know how you feel, I play almost exclusively Solo Survivor and I've had it pretty rough in the past. I can only tell you that getting better at the game and getting to red ranks has improved my experience considerably. I also dodge lobbies with keys, Blendettes, 2-3 man SWFs and multiple flashlight users. Avoiding having those people for teammates has increased my survival rate, as the Killer rarely brings in a mori when those things aren't present! And use Kindred + Decisive Strike as well! Very important solo perks.

In the higher ranks, yes, you'll run into the rare Iridescent Head user or facecamping Bubba, but it's really not that bad. I laugh when the Bubba is revving his chainsaw in front of me, and just wait until the next game. Losing a pip or two really isn't the end of the world, and if you just expect it as part of the game, you won't let it get to you and you'll enjoy the game much more.

(There's also the rare facecamping Myers.... he nodded at me while I waved my arms up and down. I genuinely laughed)

    20200530221102_1.jpg

The only thing I don't like is when I use a Streamers and the Killer goes for the 4k slug at the start of the game with Billy + Infectious Fright.... that's annoying πŸ™„

  • If he posed like that, I wouldn't mind if he facecamped me.... 😏

  • I love playing as both sides on Hawkins, Lery's and Badham Preschool, because they offer something different than pallet/jungle gyms to interact and loop with! I especially love windows/vaults, so Hawkins and Lery's are especially my favorites, while I enjoy playing Survivor on Badham more than Killer.

  • I personally dislike Claudette players because of my extensive experience with them as a Survivor. I kid you not, in 9 out of 10 of my Survivor games, Claudettes (especially Blendettes) are some of the most useless, selfish teammates I've ever had, and they can hardly loop for more than 15 seconds. Of course, it would be unfair to say that every Claudette player is bad, and the more brightly-clothed Claudettes are usually fine, but that is just my experience in most of my games that have Claudettes, and this is happening in my red rank Survivor games.

Blendettes in my games usually leave their teammates to die or farm them off hook, or sandbag teammates who are on last hook while they themselves haven't been hooked once. They have also been some of the most toxic people in the end-game chat that I've ever seen, with one Blendette even telling me that I deserved to die and she was glad that I lost, right after she was finished chewing out our Jake because he failed a bodyblock for her, and I defended him because it was just a simple mistake. Another Blendette had a hissy fit at me when I was playing Killer because she said I was "VPNing" when in actuality she was in Eastern Europe playing on my U.S. server somehow. Two Blendettes went off on me in end-game chat, calling me names and insulting my profile and such, when I hadn't done anything toxic whatsoever. I've never dealt with such toxic Survivors as the Blendettes.

Stereotyping is perfectly acceptable because stereotypes are usually true. In my experience, Megs have a tendency to be worse and less aware than other Survivors, Blendettes tend to be far more selfish and toxic than other Survivors, and so on. I don't agree with people who target ALL Claudette players, especially ones who are wearing bright clothing (those ones are usually OK), but I greatly dislike Blendettes and might bring in an Ivory Mori for them when I see them 😏

  • For Survivor side, I mainly play Nancy, Nea, Kate and Steve, and for Killer side I mainly play Nurse with a little bit of Oni! I like to play Killers who have depth to their mechanics, and Nurse and Oni offer a different playstyle than most Killers, so they're easily my go-tos. I'll definitely be playing my man Pyramid Head when he comes to live as well.... 😏

  • I really don't see a problem with his terror radius. I've played against many Deathslingers (and I haven't used Spine Chill in months) and am rarely caught off-guard when I'm paying attention, even on indoor maps. I actually enjoy playing against Deathslingers BECAUSE he can get close to you and jumpscare you with a harpoon gun shot! I honestly feel like he's what Huntress should be -- doesn't make sense that Huntress has a 45 meter hum that gives away her position to her "prey", as well as the loud "ching" whenever she has a hatchet ready....

I think he has a small terror radius (smaller with addon) because he would give Survivors FAR too much of a heads-up with a larger TR. I mean, I've been able to successfully evade Deathslinger with his normal TR just by running as soon as I start hearing it, and I can't even imagine how bad he would be with a larger TR.

Huntress can still do fine with her hum because her hatchets have infinite range (and a larger hitbox), while Deathslinger has limited range, has to reload after every shot and can easily be dodged due to the smaller hitbox of the harpoon. Giving Survivors more information as to Deathslinger's whereabouts would be quite detrimental, as his strength lies in his ability to catch people off-guard and taking that away would result in a FAR worse version of Huntress.

  • Sounds good to me! 😏

Grandpa Caleb would look so cute in an old man sweater!

  • Most Favorite: Nancy's "Strawberry Wave" Hair

    QF_Head02.png

I've been using this hair ever since I bought Nancy, and I love it so much! I usually pair it with her green sweater or bloody sweater and black pants or skirt.

    Least Favorite: ....

    GS_Head011.png

    Truly horrifying....

  • I would personally say Legion and Deathslinger, because I find them both enjoyable to play, and moderately powerful in most situations (their only problem being larger maps like Mother's Dwelling). Legion has good perks as well! And I personally enjoy playing Deathslinger more than Huntress, as I find his harpoon to be more effective when I'm being looped (since you can quickscope!). People can say what they want about Deathslinger, but his harpoon is better than Huntress's hatchets on a lot of loops, since you can pull Survivors around many of them!

I personally dislike playing Plague, Pig and Ghostface, so I can't recommend them on a personal basis -- but Ghostface can be fun on certain maps, and people enjoy playing Pig as well. In terms of perks, Plague has two very good perks (Infectious Fright and Corrupt Intervention), so she's not bad to buy for perks -- but she's not very good in terms of point gain, and good Survivors can easily give her a thorough stomping. Thrilling Tremors from Ghostface is a fine perk as well, and I'm All Ears works nicely on Killers like Pyramid Head and Nurse.

For perks, I would say that Plague and Legion are your best bet, with Discordance and Corrupt Intervention both coming from them, but for fun I would say Deathslinger hands down! Legion is fun if you want to be a stabby kid and keep everyone perpetually injured, which can lead to some first hook suicides and D/Cs.... but he's still enjoyable to play, nevertheless πŸ˜‹ But if you're in doubt, just watch some YouTubers play those Killers and see what appeals to you the most! Everyone enjoys Killers differently than others do!

  • I only use Moris on P3 Claudettes because I hate having them in my own Survivor games. In my games, they're typically bad and selfish, and usually sandbag you when you're injured on last hook and they haven't been hooked at all, or Urban Evade away from you after they've unhooked you and their Spine Chill has lit up. People who play P3 Claudette usually are using her P3 clothing for the advantage of being blend-y, and I really don't like overly-immersive gamers, so I pop on the Ivory and make sure to keep an eye out for them! 🧐

I sometimes like to use Ebony moris as well for fun, but I only mori on last hook, and I don't ever tunnel people off hook. Ebony moris are nice to have when you injure a Survivor and they run up and unhook their teammate right in front of you, knowing you have a mori -- the unhooker gets what they deserve for purposefully putting their teammate in mori's way.

I experienced a vpning iri head huntress the other day, feelsbadman.

    πŸ˜“ Nasty stuff....

  • I usually go around and look for totems or search chests, or take up a vantage point to see who the Killer is. I'll also sometimes tap the first gen I find to see if the Killer has Ruin!

  • I personally no longer have a problem with Iridescent Head because, if you think about it, Billy, Bubba and Oni can one-hit down with their base abilities. Good players won't get hit with Iridescent Head, and there are very few Huntress players with good aim as well. Of course, if she walks up behind you and hits you point-blank with a hatchet, you go down.... although it IS possible to dodge at that close of range as well. And when she does that, she's just a slower Billy, since she's 110% speed. I myself went into a game with Iridescent Head + 1 extra hatchet (first time using iri head!) and I really didn't do any better than if I had been doing my STBFL/double hatchet cooldown build. In fact, I actually did worse, because I was relying more on hitting my hatchets and the Survivors were actually good at dodging, as I would hope to expect from red ranks. I really don't think it's that big of a deal, moreso just an annoyance. I can't even imagine only having one hatchet with iri head and having to reload after every shot. After using it, I personally don't like it and think it's cheesy and boring, but only having one hatchet would ensure a steam-rolling from competent Survivors.

  • I play about 20% Killer, always against red ranks and it's really not too bad. I win, I lose, I have fun and I try out different perks + addons (and I do the archives)! But, most importantly, I don't stress out and take the game too seriously. I actually feel better playing Killer sometimes because having bad teammates as Survivor gives me conniptions. When you get sandbagged and farmed, game after game, it gets very aggravating. Not to mention the Blendettes -- I hate having them on my team (they're always selfish and bad, just had one crouch around and watch me go down, get hooked, unhook me and then hide when the Killer started chasing me again.... on my last hook, while I was injured and she wasn't), and I take in a mori just for them when I see them as Killer.

  • I was screeching like a banshee in my house when Pyramid Head appeared on the screen! Super exciting!!!

  • Thank you to everyone who supported my thread about the possiblity of a new Silent Hill chapter! https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/153143/silent-hill-next-dlc-an-in-depth-analysis/p1

I am extremely excited and can't wait to experience this in the game! I hope you all enjoy it as well, not just because of the ties to Silent Hill but because of the characters themselves! Pyramid Head is truly spooky and scary and I'm super stoked to play as AND against him!

  • Poised isn't really that bad, since it works for ANY generator that pops. So, 10 seconds of not leaving scratch marks can ruin Killers in chases if you break LoS, if you're a god looper and your teammates are actually doing gens.

Camaraderie does need a change, though. I think it should work both for you and anyone you're near who's on the hook.

I've had many situations where Solidarity would have come in handy, and I think it synergizes with Autodidact.... if I had Autodidact unlocked, I'd probably be using those two together! So I don't think it's BAD, I think it just does it's job.

Gearhead isn't that good, but Cruel Limits and Mindbreaker are okay. I've seen people use them on various Killers with decent results. But, I do think that Mindbreaker should be changed to be in effect for the entire generator, not just up to 50%. You could use it to easily snag those pesky Survivors who stick the gen to completion, only to Sprint Burst away right before you reach them!

I do have another nominee for needing a serious buff, though.... Babysitter. My first thread on here was actually about changing/buffing Babysitter, and I still want it to happen!

  • Wouldn't Survivors just hide after the reveal was finished until the gens become unblocked? I mean, that's what I'd do.... and I wouldn't even have to worry about generators, since the Killer couldn't patrol them to find me....

Since generators are basically the only reliable way to find Survivors, I think that halting the game for a minute wouldn't really do anything. You wouldn't be able to find Survivors by patrolling gens and they'd all just hide until it was over!

  • As to people thinking the skull is of great importance, all of the different positions we've seen of the skull are just the DbD logo tally marks.... and the black goop coming out of the skull is just matching the logo as well.

    Untitled.png
  • I spawned in the hallway (top area) in front of a room containing the Killer's Ruin.... RIGHT THERE!!! I actually walked in, saw it, feared Haunted Grounds, went into the isolation room and touched the generator, generator fizzled, went back and cleansed it within the first 30 seconds of the game.

And one time, when I played Nurse, my Ruin spawned on the SIDE of the Killer's shack on Disturbed Ward. THE SIDE FACING THE ENTIRE MAP! There might as well have been a neon arrow affixed to the side of the shack, pointing straight down at it and saying "Cleanse Me" in bright, blinking letters. I had to work hard to protect that little guy.

They should take what they did with the Saloon totem spawns (they're very nicely hidden) and try to do something with the rest of the maps!

  • The only time I'll suicide on hook is to give my last teammate a chance at the hatch, but other than that I never kill myself on hook (intentionally.... sometimes I miss that struggle button).

I really don't mind what happens to me in-game, as long as it's not being mori'd off of first hook! You'll always get bad teammates, and I still want to get points, help the team and not de-pip, so I'll stick around even if I get left until struggle.

1 … 10 11 12 13 14 … 17
