I used to Main Nemesis. Here's your problem:
Contamination is garbage.
We tunnel because we need to hit you three times, and for some reason BHVR decided to put crates around the map to literally undo one of those hits. We HAVE to commit to chases until you are down. If you get unhooked, we can't just go "Oh golly gee, I'll play nice and let the other guy go."
Because you will heal AND you will cleanse and now allllll my hard work is undone.
It's too much of a risk at too much of a loss.
Ah so you have like a secret cult of all nemesis players who want to protest for needing 3 hits, so u all decide to tunnel at 5 gens to make you yourselves feel like ur some good killers who can win lmao.

His guards suck @ss. They are slow and you can hold forward away from them.
I know, I'm talking about situations when ur in a corner loop and he just uses his power, that's a guaranteed hit either from him or the guard.
-
I remember how annoying it was to outplay a nemesis in a loop just to get rekt by one of his AI zombies(I know it's incosistent but when it happens u feel like you've lost to the AI not the killer)
Now, they made a killer which relies on the CPU to kill you or pressure you lmao, lemme just corner a survivor somwhere in the map and activate the brainless AI power that does everything for me and sandwich the survivor for a a free down, amazing skillful power indeed.

Tunneling is a problem of Unhookers pulling Survivors off too fast, they do this all the time, I take three steps away and they have unhooked. I have no incentive to hunt the unhooker, he has 2 health states and dead hard probably. The unhooked has 1 health state and dead hard probably. bHVR needs to increase safe unhook score event to until healed or 1min to prevent other Survivors farming each other for unhook points and causing tunneling. Let the Killers be big baddies, the problem is with your teammates.
Are you joking? i see killers come back to the hook, eat free downs from surivvors trying to protect the hardcore tunnel and he leaves them slugged for free pressure to keep tunneling on 5 gens, huge skills issues on this game today.

Are you sure it was no reason? Let's do some math. There are 4 survivors and each one does generators four times faster than your base regression.
Survivors doing their objective doesn't merit the killer to focus tunneling a survivor the whole game. This is rather a skill difference and possible BMing from fragile egos.
I had gone against a Pinhead the other day playing solo queue, he would not leave me alone even if he was losing chase, the final pallet stun on him made him camp my downed body in front of my teammates and just stared at my body M1ing it as he tried letting me bleed out and ignore everything else but my other teammates were competent enough to pull him away and go for the save.
Gen rushing doesn't merit you tunneling, that will just encourage the survivors to gen rush. The total opposite of what a killer wants. Which is a reason why the current meta is so effective but punishing.
sounds like that killer and many i see on my games have a huge skill issue.
-
lol only weird people play solo queue nowdays(no offense). since yesterday i only play with at least 2 friends i know that are good or i don't play this stupid game at all.

I love these comments that act like killers don't have to chase and down survivors just because they're running gen regression. The regressing gens don't put people on hooks lmao.
they're the only perks that make you lose distance or ditch chases in order to kick gens, it's better to run dms+scourage with info perks to get them out of the gens for dms to work(if they know the counterplay) than to rely on these unhealthy perk combo that was never seen before and soon will never be seen again.
-
@Xendritch said:
I actually big disagree with this for a couple reasons.
- Will it be nerfed at some point? Probably yes but there's no way to know when, you mention dead hard but that took 4 years for anything to happen. Should people actively weaken themselves because maybe someday the meta will change? Take this logic to other games and nobody would think this was good advice. Oh don't play the top deck in Hearthstone because they might nerf it and it will leave rotation at some point. You'd be laughed out of the room for ever suggesting anything like that.
- Going back to dead hard....yeah.....still 2-4 every single game. It was overall nerfed but it's still very strong and what's to say if CoB or eruption get changed they won't still be strong. That's already happened once before for killers with ruin. It was deemed too strong got completely changed but that version was still very strong and was the meta for a long while even after the change.
- I would actually encourage newer players to run these perks to give them more time to learn chase without getting discouraged. These arn't NOED where you fail all game get to end game and then one shot people because they weren't expecting it. You still need to actually chase and get downs and hooks to win with these perks and these just slow the game down for newer players that otherwise would likely get overwhelmed.
what do you mean learn chase? you mean by ditching a chase to kick a gen? LOL.

It's cringe the amount of survivors who trashtalk on someone else profil. Get a life, please.
Watch your words before accusing me on sending death threates, you sound like your play exactly the way the OP described, maybe you're the one who should get gud.

Good grief, the number of people in that screenshot going to someone's profile just to complain. Why you can get away with littering people's profile with permanent negativity...
Also, part of the player drop right now is it's kind of unplayable in some areas because of server stuff and people being busy with other holiday bits.
You get what you're cooking, if he's playing in an annoying way to ruin someones day he deserves to be known as such.

Being good isn't just intentionally making the game harder on yourself. Your objective is to kill survivors, the less survivors in trial the easier it is to keep the gens from being done.
Calling killers skillless because you don't like how they are playing is a you problem.
Show me one person that is objective that will admit that tunneling or camping on 5 gens and then winning requires skill lmao.

@MeltingPenguins said:
Has anyone actually ever sat down and approach this, well, scientifically?
Like, how many bloodpoints/pips you get on average when playing fair vs playing scummy (with consensual farming as reference point?)
people who do that don't care bout bps or pips lmao
-
just delete this perk with dead hard and we're gucci.

@StarLost said:
Uh...
Did you watch the Community Cup?
Plenty of camping, tunneling and slugging. And yet - even with the survivors heavily restricted on what they could bring, killers had a really tough time of it.
cause the survivors are comp survivors who are training for this scenraios and have a gameplan, now compare that to your average eruption + tunneling solo q exp.

Here's the thing though. Nurse has no where near blights skill cap and all other killers don't have near his skill expression to actually out play survivors. Most killers Below A are given downs due to a survivor skill issue. No matter how well you play unless you are at some trash tile like Ormond picnic table pallets you shouldn't be getting hits. Plus blight has way more variety in counter play than any other killer but 99% of survivors don't know anything except don't hold w, 2% of survivors know how to pluto him off shack door(wow!). But there are so many more things you can do. Also you realize Lilith is not looking at his screen most of the time right? Once a month when he flips his switch he becomes godlike at blight which is when he is truly truly entertaining. Most of the time It feels like he can barely stand dbd and it's only because of blight that he does.
Any killer has to tunnel against a good enough team running good enough stuff, but it's a rarity to run into good teams in this game even considering comp teams(over rated by a mile).
idk in which mmr you're playing, but when i check profiles i constantly see 2-5k hours on each survivor, all of them know how to play well(maybe it's a region thing, I play in SEA). and of course you have to tunnel, In high mmr u can never hook everyone 3 times unless they don't know how to play, BUT. that's the probelm, sometimes some killers just do it everygame, they don't care anymore if they're against good teams or not because you can't know until it's too late usually.
My whole post is not to say that tunneling is wrong, it is most of the time essential in high mmr BUT I blame the devs and the game that the best strategies are the most easy ones to apply. I'm sure that when the devs created the game they didn't about people just trying to make a 3v1 ASAP every game.

Tunneling and camping is valid and using a few streamers as your proof against tunneling and camping doesn't prove what you think it does.
Big streamers have to play for the entertainment of their audience which generally means doing more than just running meta all the time.
Tunneling really isn't "skillless", because bad killers who try to tunnel out survivors who are better then them will get ran around for multiple gens. Killers who are good at the game can take advantage of tunneling more, because they are capable of beating survivors quickly in chase consistently.

Why would I play killers where the individual survivors control the flow of the game? Why would I not play blight when he counters the worst part of the game for killer? If you get a 30 win streak on bubba or nemesis or billy the survivors simply played bad. The issue with 85% of the killers in this game is that they have little skill expression and there is never a scenario where both sides can outplay the other at the same time. Once you go blight everything else is boring.
crowman - I said it's valid lol, it's just skillless and im talking about high levels of play, when u use a normal mmr when the killer is around the same level of the survivors, tunneling is valid but also easy and everyone can get ez wins with this.
Sava - play who you want, I just gave an example cause that guy tries to show off that he doesn't need to tunnel with one of the two strongest killers of the game lol, there are other 28 killers in this game u know, that can't manage to do things that blight and nurse does.
Also in some games even with blight u have to tunnel, i watch lilith all the time and if one survivor held him long enough and the others did the gens(which happens all the time in high mmr, he has to tunnel him out).

Sure, some do. But I literally never see blights running slowdown. Maybe 1 at most. I’ve done my entire streak with no more than pain res and DMS. Some games I ran no slowdown at all.
I still never camped. I rarely tunneled. Many of the games would have been easier if I did, but I didn’t have to, because I have the skill on blight to do that.
I’ve done 50 win - streaks on oni, nemesis, and wesker. I think I got like 30 with huntress awhile back.
How is show offing with your streaks here is related to the point of the post?
The fact this game is easily winnable with the easiest brain dead tactics doesn't go against the fact that you can also win without them.

I mean, I sorta like were you're coming from, but have you seen 7ys old play video games? How they're little, grubby hands struggle with the controller and their little minds are reeling from all the crazy stuff going on?
And you made that your main point, several times stressing this and circling back.
Yes, it's a shame that the cheapest tactics are also the most effective, but they are not that braindead that a literal 7ys old could pull them off. Lol, just imagining my 7ys old cousin trying to catch up with Trapper to me looping. Hilarious. The poor guy would sooner throw a hissy fit and storm away then ever getting withing whiffing distances, and I am a mid looper at best.
Well yeah I exaggerated the situation on purpose to make my point clear as much as possible.
People always argue about "It's my only objective I have to rush gens" or "Why wouldn't I tunnel? it's the best strategy and I wanna win!"
But they forget the reason these tatics are getting shamed in the community since 2016-17 up until today, why all the big streamers don't use them every game is because these tatics are proven to be skillless, the easiest and cheapest things you can do, and I guess for many people, honor or showing skill is more important than forcing a win you didn't do anything special to earn.

I mean… I hit 75 in my blight win streak tonight with some tunneling when needed and zero camping… speak for ya-self!
I'm also a blight main, and some blight or nurse mains tunnel from 5 gens even with 3 -4 regression perks. try to get that win streak with another killer that is not blight/nurse/spirit.

I played yesterday late night as killer and only faced 4k hours per surv sweaty gen rush swfs, no thanks.

It seems like a good idea on the surface, but there’s two problems.
First, this would massively widen the gap between killer and survivor at different levels of play. Baby survivors would of course continue getting slaughtered. And higher MMR killers would become punching bags to survivors of equal skill.
The other problem I personally see is that perks make the game fun. It gives you new, interesting ways of playing the game and often times can make an unplayable killer semi competent. Homogenizing the game and ensuring that every trial truly plays out the same would lead to this game dying.
It's a sarcastic solution to a real problem, perks are useless since they are supposed to make small tweaks but you have a few that make huge tweaks that renders 95% of the others obsolete.

Hey, first of all ofc this was written in a sarcastic way since it won't happen, the point of my rant is to show that perks are kinda meaningless since only the most boring and strong ones will be used.
imo perks should be small lil tweaks that add variety to the game but not powerfull enough to change the whole course of a game like we had until today, that's why 95% of them aren't used or if used, you feel like you're "less effective".
I think some healthy perks like corrupt should be base kit same as bt, give a massive nerf to slowdown and chase extenders perks, if people are bad the game? let them learn and improve without having dh/eruption carrying them.
your second point is right, perks are supposed to be fun, but look at the most used perks.
Is otr a fun perk to use? no, u actually do nothing and it does nothing other than giving you a shield.
whats so fun about running COB/Eruption/overcharge? is it fun kicking gens?
the fun perks like any means nessecary or spirit fury/enduring are less looked at cause people feel forced to use chase extenders and gen regression cause they're better than all the other rubissh perks, thus making the concept of perks dumb.

make them unstackable especially for swf, each person should run perks to support each other ,if survivors come into a lobby with the same perks against a 1 v with only 4 perks against 16 perks.
Also yeah in away, I agree with you about the stop making perks.they should only make two or three perks if it's a chapter with two survivors 1 for each character which would probably give them more creative freedom instead of having the same recycling of perks slightly adjusted Eruption is just jolt and how man status increase survivors have on top of healing.
Realistically they won't be deleting the perks of course, but maybe applying tournament rules on normal dbd matches(cause what's the difference, in the sweaty mmr system games are tournies anyway) would do good.
