More often than not, a coordinated 4-man is winning against a Killer. If they bring 4 BNPs, they just hasten that conclusion. They didn't need 4 BNPs to win, so if anything, that is doing the Killer a favor by not dragging out their suffering. Even then, each BNP is only 5% of the total gen progress needed, or 20% total with all 4. Even current Pain Res is essentially equal to that. That is only 1 perk slot for Killer, but a forced item and addon for the Survivor to do the same. That seems about even to me.
Also you ask if Killers have addons that give a free hook. Well if you look at how long a chase lasts without and with an addon, you can get a percentage. An exposed addon can give you essentially half the chase time, since they only have 1 health state. So essentially an exposed addon gives you half a hook each time you get value. That means they have exactly what you are asking for (more often than not). To be fair, some Killer addons do nothing to their power, like Nemesis for his whip. But others have an addon to break pallets in 1.5s, (Blight Iri serum) give a Floods of Rage activation, (Ghostie Iri Camera), Exposed (numerous Iri), and plenty of other chase shorteners.
The main problem is in how the Pig who brought box skillcheck addons isn't in the same league as a predropping BNP spamming squad. Then the next match when she brings Iri tape Ruleset 2 for the Survivors to spawn with the headtrap and not see boxes until they are active, the solo squad falls apart immediately. Part of helping that would be having a visual indicator at the very least for the rarity of items. That way the Killer seeing 4 Brown Toolboxes doesn't overreact and brings the sweaty loadout expecting Commodiouses. They have the system for Event items, so honestly just color coding the item with the rarity might be good enough. Even if the item itself isn't visually distinct, the loading screen and escape menu (where you can check offerings) could show the rarity and class of item. (Eg. Green Key, Iri Map, Brown Medkit, Yellow Toolbox.) It shouldn't show addons though. (Unless maybe as a buff for Hoarder.)
4 bnps with successful skills checks are a full gen what are u talking about?

Myers can kill without hooking anyone with his IRI addon.
That's a broken add on and everyone knows that, BNPS are more common than facing a myers with that addon.

There are bump logic paths you can use to cut off the window loops on each house.
Feel free to DM me your tag and I’d be happy to help you out.
What if they don't go for the windows tho, to force u into trying to use your power in the house or be an m1 killer.

Have you played Blight on Desecrated borgo yet? Big oof. Anyways - bot matches my guy, just do bot matches. I mean that to learn the map, the collision, practice the tight spaces and learn them. You'll at least be comfortable next time you're there
I don't have a problem with borgo, learn it kinda fine. with bots it's a problem cause they wont try to abuse the houses. I don't have an issue with haddonfield if the survivors play it in an average way. the smart camp the houses way is my issue.

LOL WHAT? this is a whole new game for me now for that idiotc perk dead, 2000000% better than before, Let dead hard die and never come back from it's grave.

Gotta agree, being able to just swing and end chases naturally instead of "waiting it out" every single chase has massively improved the killer experience for me.
Now we just need something so solo survivors aren't shafted.
They will always be shafted in this game, that's the nature of this game. if you have expectations to win as solo survivor, better play killer or find friends to play with.
-
No they're not, sorry. DH was a stupid annoying perk and even as a killer who baited it out most of the time, the times I didn't were enough to make me pissed, at least now you can make a survivor waste it and move to another one instead of commiting into a chase and then getting dead harded.

If you'd said make the 'bloodpoint bonus that was removed from bbq base kit' I'd be 100% on board with that idea. I think that would be a relatively minor change that most reasonable players should have no objective to, and it could be a positive incentive to some killers to deter tunneling.
But no, not the aura reading of the perk itself.
If anything, we've already learned the lesson that 'buffing killers will reduce the need to tunnel' is just completely untrue. It just buffs tunneling. (See: 6.1.0 extra gen time, etc.)
extra 10 seconds on a gen and a slightly faster pallet break isn't gonna reduce tunneling.
you need to make the next(!) chase easier to find, and also add some bonuses for hookinh multiple people.
-
I See it every single game 3-4 times a game, survivors who have thousands of hours and that's why it made me quit playing recently.
Not the DH itself, I bait it most of the time, It's just the boredom of playing the same dbd game on repeat.
You know their perks, you know their playstyle, you know they'll gen rush.

@Dbdfan398 said:
Gen speeds imo will solve tunnelling because gens fly so fast now getting it down to 3v1 ASAP is the only way
It won't and I explained why. It will solve it for you, because you tunnel when you feel you're gonna lose.
Some gamers, tunnel just from the start no matter what, and they will tunnel even if the gens will be 200 seconds each, just cause they feel like it. then nerfed survivors maps will make tunneling even a more guaranteed win.

I like when Knight power is used to catch a Survivor on a Generator (sneaky idealy) or to make them busy by chasing two people at once or just 2vs1. It's fun to summon your minions to occupy or suprise Survivors. I don't mind playing againts him. If the power is not used only for camping or just drop it on loops, it can be fun.
Idk, nothing is fun for me about holding W or being 2V1'd

How do you know your high/top mmr? What does your invisible # say?
I play against comp thai teams many times, against survivors who have 2500 hours+ at minimum(today against a swf, the highest one had almost 10k and the lowest 5k hours, comp team) and tons of strong swfs. and I can see high level of survivor gameplay almost every single game.

If it's not CoH, it's medkits. If it's not medkits, it's Bond so they can find someone to heal them, or We'll Make It to keep their teammates healthy. You can't avoid survivors playing smart and staying healthy, good survivors know not to stay injured and give the killer an easy down.
My advice is to pick killers that can end chase quickly, so if you run into healthy a survivor you can chew through their health states with ease. That, or bring chase perks to help tie up chases sooner if your killer is a little lacking in lethality.
I'm a blight main who plays without heavy slowdown, reached high mmr bracket(2-8k hours survivors who loop amazingly and are highly efficient) and sees how one chase can ruin the game and if I don't commit, there's no weak link to just 2 tap.

bro i just hooked 2 people so fast with blight and they finished 3 gens so fast

Even psuedo-comp players panic vault.
Also, everyone faces those sort of Survivors because the MMR system isn't that accurate lol
It's not that accurate but it's accurate enough to make the game much sweaty compared to the old system.

And here I am getting told off in another thread that m1 killers are fine; that the Eruption nerf doesn't change them much. Forums never cease to amaze me.
It's people with 200-500 hours on the game who still face survivors that panic vault on a jungle gym dropped pallet, everyone knows that against decent or even average survivors who just sit on gens and don't do meaningless stuff, it's very hard to win with them.

Some people can't play only one killer. It gets boring.
True, that's why you have around 5-10 strong powers to master, mastery takes time. I also liked playing pig a lot, god I was a fan of Scorpionz and learnt everything about her. but when MMR kicked In I've realized that even if i get wins, there's no fun and just sweat in it.
Of course, this topic isn't for people who don't care about winning. if you're having fun with your M1 killer that's totally fine, but you have to realize that if you want to win consistenly, it's not the way to go.
-

I don't know you, so I don't feel the need to do you a favor. That's my suggestion for people who are complaining about the nerfs and weak killers. for people who don't care about winning, they shouldn't care about tierlists or perks from the beginning.

What other good regression perks are there? They are all either inconsistent at best or benefit killers who are already strong.
Pain Res/DMS combo is good for killers who can get fast downs and then pressure survivors off gens (Nurse, Blight, Artist). DMS timer is extremely short anyway.
Ruin, while having awful regression, is only good for killers with strong map-wide pressure (Blight). But it just gets cleansed anyway.
Jolt is, again, a perk that benefits killers who get faster downs. But it's inconsistent as most maps are huge and the chance of getting a down close enough to gen with meaningful progress is few and far between.
Deadlock and Corrupt become the most consistent options, but they aren't enough for m1 killers to be relevant.
And honestly I am sick of people saying "I don't use x, so it's fine". Objectively, m1 killers are awful. And so are most of the regression perks. Eruption was keeping them afloat, and now they're going to sink next update.
tbh most chances are, that someone who says "I don't need regression perks on m1 killer" plays on a low mmr. even from medium mmr when survivors learn to not be scared from the killer, gens can fly and fly fast even if you get down pretty reliably.
-
guess what, you making a post about it won't fix it. there's no need to announce for every retirement just to say "players are toxic and salty".
-
The problem with suggesting to bring perks such as lucky break for one encounter that you'll might get once in 30-40 games is a bad counter, a counter shouldn't rely on perks.
-
@FMG15 said:
If you are in "top MMR" that usually means that you play to win so don't be surprised that your opponents want to win as well.
That's true, I play to win. I just don't tunnel on 5 gens which I can and then i can beat almost any team. it's just funny what happens when I play fair against a squad that comes to finish the game in 3.5 minutes.

And are just going to ignore Decisive strike, Iron Will, object of obsession, Insta heals, keys, boil over, reassurance?
Stop trying to shape this into a killer vs survivor argument. Op survivor perks get nerfed too it’s not just killers.
It's not the same but I thought the purpose of nerfing it was to lower it's usage rate, in high mmr + the usage rate is the same as before.

youre playing blight, tbh you have no right to complain
I still lose with him against really strong teams, he's not an insta win killer like nurse.

Favorite: Blight. Fun, feels like a racing car in a hold w game, strong and works with many perks. once you go blight you can't go back.
Least: Pig - vs strong survivors you always get bmed cause she's not scary at all, just feel sad playing her.
Deathslinger - after his nerf there really is no reason to play him. the other range killers do things better.
-
BHVR are holding everyone hostage with introducting a P2W build on every killer that requires nothing other than knowing how to recognize a gen and press space.

Dead hard is needed against killers like nurse, spirit and blight. They would have to nerf killer powers too sadly.
Idk if I actually complain about it, since sometimes it's useless when I bait it out.
It's just that the point of the meta shake up was to make people to use dh less, while the stats show they did, they're relavent for all MMRS and in top mmr against very skilled survivors its basically 95% usage rate for me.

Before we go looking at Otz as the model bear in mind that for a long time his show had segments where he was playing ultra late for his timezone.
If I go play a game in my area during a weeknight at 4am the game is much easier than if I tried it three hours earlier.
I can only assume that since Otz is in Spain he get matched with smaller regions like Africa where the competition is about as stiff as wet spaghetti. In case you missed it - once upon a time we could change our steam download region to force the game to put us in whatever region we wanted.
This means you could get a killer friend to play against your SWF and farm points. Anyway sometimes you didn't get your SWF and it was like you asked a girl who had never played a video game on a controller to play DBD as her first video game ever. Needless to say it was like stealing candy from a sleeping baby.
Go watch Otz doing the 30 second AFK challenge and look at the difference in the caliber of his opponents compared to TrueTalent. The difference is night and day.
I want to ask a single question that the mods will not answer :
Do fog Whisperers have adjusted MMR to make the game look more appealing?
Ask yourself what purpose do the fog whisperers that play killer serve? They make you feel that you could one day rise in the ranks and play killer like they do.
Would the game seem more appealing if the Fog Whisperers who play killer have easier games because there is some MMR invisible wizardry going on?
The only reason not to show us MMR is because you want to hide "wrong doing". Guild Wars was one of the most open and honest games I ever played. They told you every single adjustment of everything with full transparency. I know many people who played World of Tanks and that company was kind of the opposite. They lied about changing a tank's stats so people would buy other newer and better tanks. That's just gross.
I am not accusing BHVR of lying but I am calling them out. Let us turn on a switch to see MMR after a game's conclusion if we want to. The only reason to hide it is because you're doing something shady.
I don't like TRU3 at all but I do agree he gets better survivors compared to OTZ. I love otz and he's ana amazing guy BUT.. i watch a lot of his games and in almost every game there are some survivors playing like they're total new to this game, it never happens when i play killer...

As I already said, unless I have a crystal ball to pull out my ass to know when my teammate goes down how tf am I supposed to know when to let go? Oh sorry, my bad let me study telepathy. Nonsense.
It's because he plays low mmr against potato killers who just bought the game, go to medium into top mmr and you see eruption cob every match almost.

seems like deranking your mmr doesn't work well after reaching the soft cap.
It means the only solution is to open an alt account and lose like the first 10 games with each role to get an inital low mmr.

Do you realize that is the point of my comment, right? Because they are saying tunneling ends too fast a survivors and should be removed? Just saying.
And I didn't see anyone (seriously) arguing SWF should be removed, but gen rushing with a coordinated SWF is the reason for a lot of things killers do in their game, starting with tunneling and ending with stacking gen regression perks with Eruption + CoB. So yeah, do something about the gen progression and then we can talk about tunneling and such.
Sorry, I hate generlising but I see a poster protecting tunneling with a Nemesis picture.. why am i not .. surprised?

Interesting. Got any VODs?
Very curious to see how you'd handle a strong SWF on...say, the Infinite GOJ seed on a mid tier killer without regression perks. Because I struggle, and I'm fairly experienced.
He's playing blight, one of the only 2 killers you don't need full 4 stack regression perks. 1-2 are enough.

Lmao, relax don't be too agressive, did you drink your coffee yet? People always complained about his addons because they're game changing and now basically every myers uses them which is boring to death(I don't blame em, who wants to play base kit Myers?)

I mean you are right in the regard that he is just an m1 killer with haunted grounds, but you fail to understand the vast mayority of players are really bad at the game, if people manage to go down to sadako and other m1 killers you as myers do have a chance to kill someone in average every match.
idk, It seems like people use Myers now as a "revenge killer", after losing a game with their main they just load up with a broken addon myers for the next game, just to win easily by getting an early mori.
-
I main blight and many times you just have to eat it sadly, if its my last rush, gotta take the risk. if it's a flick, as you said -gotta eat it.
Sometimes, I bait dh but bumping into a further object but then I realize that object has no collision and I lose that chase just from baiting the DH alone, which sucks.
Sadly baiting DH as a blight is a thing of rushes, if u have rushes to use, most likely u can do it.
I've noticed in my games that survivors that have DH many times won't use it on situations where they can't see me hug teching(big walls) or when I come across a corner with 180 flick, cause they don't expect me to hit them and they prefer to save their DH, that's a good part about blight, the element of surprise.
-
do what u want but why you're posting "mr obvious" threads like u should proud of your amazing tunneling skills or something, nothing to be proud of here, tunneling requires no skill.

My point is that, even if Eruption gets nerfed to oblivion, like Thana and Ruin did, it won't even slow down the QQ - it'll be STBFL (omg how can you expect the obsession in solo queue to do anything?).
PR+DMS was wall to wall QQ for ages.
Ruin is not worth using anymore, but that saw tons of QQ.
Counterplay is irrelevant. Whatever the killer meta is will be complained about until it's nerfed.
you're right but it doesn't counter the fact that this perk is unhealthy and unfun, if survivors cry after that they can keep crying but Eruption is a huge issue even more than old ruin undying tinkerer.
-
@StarLost said:

Did you watch some of the CC games?
Killers ran Eruption, and even tactically slugged/camped/tunneled.
Even on pretty killer sided maps, with heavy restrictions on what survivors could bring - they still had a hell of a time.
Eruption is fine against SWF. It's a bit much against solos, but you cannot balance this game around solo queue.
But here's the thing. Adjust Eruption slightly, make it work on hook rather than on downs or something so it's easier for solos to counter? Sure. But it won't put a dent into the QQ.
So they nerf Eruption to the ground, and then the QQ train moves onto STBFL again. Or PR+DMS. Because, again, whatever the killer meta is will always become 'this is why I lost, therefore OP'.
STBFL counterplay - send the obsession to take hits.
PR+DMS- get up from the gen before hooking animation.
Ruin undying - cleanse totems.
Eruption - alt f4 everytime u can't play the game for another 25 seconds cause there's no way in hell you can guess when a survivor will go down.
see the problem?
-
just tunnel straight away like many from this forum are doing, with PH it's easier cause u avoid OTR/DS/BT. if u want to actually get good, start using his power in a more of an opressive way, don't predict shot like many PH's are doing but make sure ur confirming what they're doing at the loop to get a free hit or free M2 hit.
