I agree.
Naughty bear has no breathing sounds, miss fuchi has drastically decreased warning sounds while summoning crows and now glitchtrap has almost no footsteps audio.
At least they increased were elk's lullaby and tomie's "ghost" noises, but the aforementioned skins haven't been adjusted since their release while offering clear competitive advantages.
-
You need a lot late hooks and/or late sacrifices. I think those are awarded once egc starts.
-
Why are people still using those stats when bhvr has repeatedly stated that they're inaccurate? Nightlight stats are absolutely worthless.

Yeah, too killer-sided. The best thing to do in these situations is to cram all the challenges during the final week. That way, you can get a lot of them done simultaneously since some overlap. I always do this to minimize the headache and inconvenience of playing in an event playlist that isn't fun
True. I also stick to killer during events for most challenges and try to quickly rush through the survivor exclusive challenges once all of them are available. It just isn't fun and I hope whatever they have planned for next year's anniversary will be more fun and balanced.
-
Ranged stealth killer with silent teleport
But don't worry, they made a p2w skin that massively reduces footstep audio.
-
Not that I'm complaining, but I'm genuinely curious why they apparently prioritize slugging when the real issue with chaos shuffle is the rampant tunnelling.

Kinda funny how some people expect his power to be viable to use for downing a survivor, when the killer has free injury…
I have no idea how it happened he can also counter safe and even god pallets. He has an answer for almost everything and his defenders still pretend he's just like legion even though he has an even easier free injury (aim assisted hitscan and ranged as well), mobility that rivals blight and hillbilly and old scamper to outplay pallets.
The only thing he truly shares with legion is his extremely low skill floor.

That’s not true, the devs killswitched Baermar’s holiday sweater for weeks because it made him totally silent.
Oh yeah. I totally forgot about that buggy mess.
-
They've never killswitched p2w skins, but they do tend to fix them relatively soon-ish (were-elk and the junji ito skin for spirit). My best guess for a glitchtrap fix would be hotfix 2. The only exception so far is the junji ito artist skin who still has basically no warning sound that she's about to summon crows.

I agree he should receive huge nerfs to speed. Huntress wasn’t allowed to keep her 85% move speed and she is a worse killer. He should move at 77% just like she does.
Precisely. Huntress on a recent ptb proved how strong and easy zoning with a drawn hatchet and increased movement speed is, which is why her speed buff never made it to live. Now springtrap is doing exactly what she did on the ptb and apparently it's fine?

BHVR disabled the system because there were reports of false positives and they are investigating them, I have not disputed that.
The point is, there are reports of people getting banned or DC penalized too, but nobody has been able to provide proof of this.
BHVR has yet to admit that the system is able to ban and DC penalize players, we dont even know if the system is capable of this. Why? Because you have no proof for it, yet.I dont think you are lying or in a conspiracy, you probably just don't care about having evidence for your beliefs, so you saw videos about it and assumed what you heard was correct. You are certainly unskeptical and you SHOULD be concerned about the lack of evidence being provided here.
"Going Next" Prevention
- Added a system to detect Survivors who intentionally die early in the match.
- When a Survivor is determined to be doing this, they receive a disconnection penalty and lose one full grade.
According to BHVR's own patch notes, the system can hand out dc penalties if it flags a player.

Well the streamer in question didnt get any DC penalty on his VOD, Do you guys have a source for were you saw this?
EDIT: YEAH YEAH, Just vote me down for asking for a source. But you should care about evidence-based reasoning!
But the evidence that the system is too lenient and produces false positives is right here. A warning will turn into a dc penalty if the system gives them another flag and as we've seen in the clip, the system isn't sophisticated enough to differentiate inexperienced new players and throwers.
-
Never. As long as it remains by far the easiest way to win it will never go away.

Was Dawko locked out of the game???
Eventually, this could happen with the new system. New players don't understand the intricacies of the game and are the most vulnerable group to hard tunnelling, which the system flags as giving up.
The fact that they have to fear the threat of getting put into a timeout for losing is probably not going to convince those encountering it to stick around, especially since many might not even understand what they did wrong.

Do you also blame the game and system, if you lose your souls in Dark Souls?
Its the System that is bad, not you who is bad at the game? am I understanding your POV here?At least to my knowledge, dark souls doesn't lock you out of the game for failing. It simply tells you that you lost but you can try again immediately.
The new go next system adds insult to injury by not only telling you that you lost but also by preventing you from playing the game at all.
-
Well, yes. Now I'd rather sit in killer queue for 5+ minutes instead of subjecting myself to the inescapable torture that is the average soloq experience.
-
You're 100% correct. The average survivor experience is an exercise in frustration tolerance. Fun matches are few and far between and you mostly just feel like you're fodder to fuel another player's power fantasy.
-
Yes, absolutely. This scenario should be included in the abandon feature.
-
They really need to make it louder, otherwise is blatantly p2w. Want to get a competitive advantage for your character? Here is a 15$ skin that removes audio cues for your opponents. First it was were elk, then tomie and now glitchtrap.
-
It's straight up p2w like release were elk and release tomie. If a killer has audio cues for balance purposes and a skin makes them almost completely silent, then that's a competitive advantage and blatant p2w practice.

It is a step that had to be done and people will get used to. It will create a lot of positives for killer players that might help them through the game. I like it!
I am not against preventing excessive hiding, but this new system detects everything as "excessive hiding".
Survivors gain afk points and crows too quickly. For example, you can't cleanse thrill of the hunt without getting a crow and even in justified situations (e.g. hiding from oni in power) the system will give you crows too fast.
There is a difference between employing stealth as a legitimate short term strategy and excessively hiding to bm or drag out games, but this new system doesn't differentiate at all.
-
I agree. It is way too easy to trigger it. I get that excessive hiding is a genuine issue that needed to be fixed, but this new system is too aggressive.
-
Yeah, he really needs some sort of facial hair. He looks so weird without it.
-
So you want to force people to witness an animation to rub in your victory?
This is literally the killer version of teabgging at the exit gate. Childish and unnecessary.
-
The mode was (almost) unanimously hated and most players stopped queueing for it after unlocking the rewards. To put it bluntly, it was so bad that the only reasons most players played it at all was because of mode specific rewards.
-
First person would be a huge nerf to survivors and third person a huge buff for killers. Creating such a lopsided mode is a recipe for failure. It would probably do even worse than lights out.
-
5 seconds is overkill, but I do agree that his cancel cooldown needs to be longer and that he can't already start his cooldown while he is still leaping to essentially skip it altogether.
-
Survivor have to escape twice. That is harder to achieve than getting some m1 hits.
However, I do agree that challenges no longer award appropriate amounts of bp for their completion.
-
Not exactly good, but we don't really have much in terms of self-protection against tunnelling, so it has to suffice until we get the base anti tunnel prevention in phase 2.

I'm starting to see a hypocrisy in this thread. :D
Ghoul can cancel his power without any fatigue or slowdown. Are you against it? :)
And btw, he's much faster than Nurse with both ability traverse and basic movement speed. Maybe Ghoul should not be able to cancel his power as well? :)
Ghoul is a really bad example, as he needs a longer cancel cooldown. He's way too easy and forgiving for how strong he is.
A better comparison would be blight. Once he starts rushing, he also can't just end it without going through his fatigue animation. That's what punishes greedy/sloppy uses of the power and rewards survivors for successful dodges or smart use of the environment.
-
The movement speed while holding the axe is too high and maybe the wind up too, but otherwise I don't really see an issue with the power.
-
No mither needs to be completely removed from this mode. It ruins the entire match for all survivors if even one teammate gets unlucky enough to pull it.
-
@xGodSendDeath said:
I mean it is really strong but you can only have 4 perk slots. Need to have
1. Windows of Opportunity to play the game for you and turn off your brain
2. Decisive Strike anti tunnel but if the killer doesn't tunnel congrats you can body block with it or enjoy the killer playing less efficiently
3. Unbreakable so you can get up if the killer counters your DS body block. You can also negate all pressure from a killer trying to slug and snowball
4: Some sort of giga buffed healing perk like Resurgence or Botany or an Orela perk that lets you heal in 2 seconds
See no room for Duty to Care
I would be genuinely interested in the "orela perk that allows me to heal in 2 seconds". I looked through her perks and just couldn't find one that gives me anything close to that much healing speed.
-
This would most likely flop harder than lights out. 3rd person for killer is a huge buff and 1st person for survivors a huge nerf, so I have no idea why anyone would ever queue up as survivor for such a mode.
-
You can rotate it in the shop if you toggle off the "available only" option.
This will also allow you to see the clipping issue with the neck, head and large mushroom on the back.
-
Basically nothing. You retain challenge progress and exp obtained up until the point of abandoning. I guess if your bot were to earn something after you abandoned, you dont get that, which might be what "match progress" is referring to.
-
No. An aim assisted hit scan attack feels absolutely miserable to play against.
-
This exact bug is back yet again
-
I love 2v8, but survivors need new and exciting abilities. It's no wonder that no one wants to queue for survivor when only killers receive new stuff. Not only that, but survivors actively had content removed (herbs) and the new item that survivors were supposed to get is a rare drop from chests.
-
Is it really exactly the same and not some sort of minor recolor?
-
@Volcz said:
There isn't.
They also don't go into specifics on how this system is going to analyze you and determine if you're 'going next'. There are a lot of variables/factors and leaving it to an automated system is more likely than not to come with lots of flaws.
Hopefully this system works properly but I have a really bad feeling it won't.
That's what scares me. If, for example, giving up is simply categorized as "getting hooked in quick succession" then this would mean that hard tunneled survivors get hit with a dc penalty. Similarly, if missing skill checks is considered as giving up then new players or players going against skill check doctor might end up with a dc penalty.
They really need to clarify exactly what counts as giving up, otherwise I fear that we'll see plenty of false positives.

Failed concept isnt true. Are they designed well? No, but that is subject that can be eventually changed. I would not burry a mechanic just because it's current state.
I think they are because bhvr seems to be dead set on keeping the 60s casting time and perma broken. Both of those are game throwing effects, so invocations would need game winning effects to balance that out, but they don't.
If they completely reworked them to have a much smaller risk and reward (similar to boons) then they might work, but the current invocation "fundamentals" are failures.
-
Invocations are a failed concept and should just be left alone.

If they mess around with that aim scan assist any more he'll very likely become unplayable with a controller.
I play on controller and the only killer I found genuinely impossible to use was old trickster with his recoil.
I am not opposed to making qol updates for controller players, but the solution can't be introducing aim assisted attacks. That just feels cheap to go against.

Let's please not act like BHVR doesn't care about the survivors fun, they simply released a killer that missed the mark. And honestly I still believe he can be fun for quite a few survivor players with just a couple of more tweaks.
I know. I'm just beyond frustrated with this particular killer and the people defending him.
I do think the devs will eventually address enraged vaults, which is sorely needed. Maybe they'll even adjust canceling mid leap, but that's unlikely. However one of the most frustrating parts of playing against this killer is his aim assisted hit scan grab and the devs sounded extremely proud when they revealed that, so it's never going to change and that really bothers me.
-
Still insufferable.
Hit scan attacks were a very bad idea, auto aim (the sticky cursor combined with the slightly increased hit detection for survivors) also feels unfair (doubly so if he injures you through a solid object), a free injury is always going to be extremely frustrating to play against and enraged vaults are still practically old scamper.
In short, a completely unfun experience to play against, but who cares about that when the killer is fun to use, right?

The more important question is, "Are devs even playing their own game?".
Given how they implemented legion practically unchanged and are seemingly happy with that, I'd say no.

You're saying 1v4 Nurse without perks or addons, feel better to play than all the above stuff that 2v8 Nurse gets? For reals? I just can't with this conversation.
Don't forget that she additionally has pretty much constant aura reading.

That would require a soft rework to his power and his hits in deepwound what would his debuff even be
Honestly, I don't know. All I know is that if bhvr ignores how problematic legion is in 2v8 (in addition to how dull 2v8 survivor is in general), then I fear that the mode will eventually end up like lights out.

I doubt they will rework him for a gamemode what can they genuinely do to make him better
Feral frenzy no longer injures but applies some sort of debuff. I am well aware that this is going to make legion a lot weaker but it's imo the only way to make him not ruin 2v8.
