Why do people not understand it's part of the game now. If the game allows it, you just have to accept it. Killers have to accept things they don't like as well.
The game in the past also allowed infinites, insta heals and insta gens, but all of that was removed and for good reason.
Just because something is a part of the game, doesn't mean that it should be part of the game.

I have to agree with other commenters that the gameplay against trap killers is really dull.
You can't really outplay them, they either have already trapped everything and you just die, or all of their traps are either sloppily placed and/or disarmed and you get an absolutely thrilling m1 chase. Either way, it's just boring.
Also, the counter to trap killers is team coordination. I don't think I need to go into too much detail why this sucks for soloq.
Then there is also the "defensive" playstyle that comes with trap killers. Putting all traps into one area and just camping it the entire game is tedious to go against and wastes a lot of time, no matter the outcome.
In summary, trap killers facilitate boring gameplay that is also a nightmare for soloq players who have no real ways to coordinate their moves. The archetype is just not made for a fast paced action game of freeze tag that dbd technically is.

Ghoul is stronger than blight in the hands of an average player. Played absolutely perfectly, blight is better, but that's not really relevant for the vast majority of players.

I tried playing on the American servers last night with @HeroLives
It was not bad in my exerience, despite me being located in northern Europe. I sat at a constant 120-130 ping, and it did not feel choppy on my end.Interesting. So it's most likely a me-problem. That's even more worrying, but thanks for confirming that it's not happening to everyone.

Wasn't that more of a thing with perk overhaul, which isn't exactly related to med kit nerfs?
I don't remember much
Partially, yes. It got changed in the perk overhaul, but it received further buffs afterwards.
-
Because med kits got nerfed, they had to buff pretty much everything else that the perk does. It's still quite bad.
-
Yes. The reason is because he isn't in every game. When you only face a killer once every month or so, it's easy to overlook just how strong that killer is.

You haven’t showed anything though, just mentioned they fixed one killer bug?
I haven’t painted any picture, I uploaded a picture that shows the facts that the only answer options given on a player satisfaction survey were from the survivor perspective which demonstrates that the killer perspective is valued less than the other options given.
What is more likely:
A) the devs are extremely survivor sided and hate killer players with a burning passion, or
B) the devs have access to a lot more statistics, which could potentially included things such as accounts that primarily queue up as survivor taking extended breaks more frequently than accounts that primarily queue up as killer
-
"Unfortunately, it seems that your mmr is 1 point lower than mine, which automatically invalidates your opinion"
Every post ever if they would release mmr, which is why they (probably) will never do that.
-
There aren't enough people willing to queue up as survivor.
-
They could but most likely won't. Just a few months ago, wesker's iri vial was bugged and basically caused all survivors to instantly become fully infected and exposed before they could even control their character. The add on suddenly became very popular and BHVR acknowledged the bug in the bug report section, but it remained in the game for weeks before it finally got fixed.
-
It's very annoying but here's how you can "fix" it:
Go into the survivor/killer selection screen and cycle through your characters. The ones that show a red exclamation mark on the store icon are the ones which you need to view in the store. Do not just view the full outfits section but also check all individual piece sections. You can do this while you sit in queue and wait for a game.

Try the "Hide tech". You have to dress up as Hide, use bardic inspiration and act really cute. It works more often than you'd think.

Because a good chunk of trials was already decided in the lobby before the actual trial even began.

The Dying Light idea is well thought out.
IMO, Eruption should have its Incapacitated effect again, but its original version. I enjoyed running it when it was only 16 seconds of incapacitation, and since damaging gens now has a cap, I don't see any harm in buffing the perks that once reigned supreme.
Edit: typo
I don't think incapacitated should ever return on a perk. Being unable to progress the game at all is way too strong of an effect for a perk that every killer can use. It should be reserved for killer powers only.
-
Yes, it's unreasonable. Normally I wouldn't care about something like that because it usually doesn't matter whether you get silver, gold or iri, but since their are tome challenges that specifically require iri unbroken, I also think the requirements should be changed.

I almost never bring items or offerings in solo queue for multiple reasons:
- If i see everyone else in the lobby with an item, I take nothing as a subtle message to the killer that this isn't some comp swf and maybe just maybe they won't bring in the strongest meta build and iri add ons (this has probably never worked)
- Knowing that 40-50% of my matches will be essentially over in the first 2 minutes depending on map/killer or i will be tunneled out asap with no chance to use whatever I brought. It's slightly less depressing leaving a match with 7k points when you don't lose an item too.
- I find Franklin's/Weave very boring to play against and 4 items is a huge sign to any killer to consider that build.
Point 2 is in my opinion the most accurate one. Why waste an item if most games are already lost early on?
-
I tend to agree. The changes we got just now in the patch notes are appreciated but i feel they won't be enough. Enraged vaults are literally just scampering and the cooldown before he can m1 after canceling the power is still untouched. Those are the 2 main issues I see with this killer.

And how is it balanced if when playing in a team, the survivors have almost a 90% chance of surviving in four?
I've never heard of a 90% escape rate. Source?

"Solo Queue Killers"? This is a thing now?
It is more like an Anti-Tunnel Perk than anything else. And even there I would say it can be even buffed a little (but deactivate when being unhooked so that the unhooked Survivor cannot use this).
A recently unhooked survivor almost always won't be able to use it since it only triggers if the bodyblocking survivor is healthy, so I don't see a reason to deactivate it for unhooked survivors.
-
I agree. Even if it's only the tutorial trapper bot, there should be an option for new survivors to familiarize themselves with maps and experiment with different perks and builds in custom games without needing a second player to pick killer.
-
The reason you get so much excess currency is because at the beginning of the event tome/currency system, you needed to complete almost every challenge to get everything. However, some diehard killer and survivor mains simply couldn't accept that they had to play the other role and complained a lot. That's why you get enough currency to buy everything even if you only play one side.
-
Vigil reduces the exposed effect and hiding in lockers blocks the aura reading. It also blocks the screaming, but that's rather unreliable since the new obsession is randomly chosen.

DEV NOTE: There's a lot of info that newer players face when opening the game, so we want to highlight the importance of Perks for them. This widget uses a visual effect to let players know if they have unused Perk slots, making it easy to jump to that menu with a single click.
Pre-equipping a Perk for newly unlocked characters also helps ease players into the game, ensuring they won’t be at a disadvantage in their first Trial if they miss the Perks menu.
First time David players getting No Mither. 😈
Or tauries and sables getting the trash invocations. They'd be better off perkless.

I'm not so sure the Ghoul IS bugged, I just think he's overtuned. A Killer being overtuned doesn't warrant a killswitch, that's for gamebreaking, unfair, or really nasty bugs and used as a last resort.
So you think it's intended that survivors can get permanently stuck at walking speed? I would call that a gamebreaking, unfair and really nasty bug.
-
Killer earns a LOT more bp than survivors, even without the event bp category. Since the entire point of the blood moon event is earning bp, there is little to no point in playing survivor.

was not stuck though, could move freely
Yes, exactly that spot. I can see from your picture that you were "in the middle" of the hook. I was slightly further to the left, wedged between the wall and the hook and could no longer move. I guess that was my mistake then.
-
I'm not sure if I correctly understand your second point. Items and perks can't affect blood gens or cans. The only perk I could think of is fixated but I would hardly call that powerful.

Patches usually arrive on Tuesday. I would be genuinely surprised if he doesn't receive changes soon.
-
The only way to get any deviousness with him is to run the brown meme add on and land perfect grab attacks and even if you do all of that, you're rewarded a measly 700 bp. This is plague levels of horrendous bp gains.

Zero reason for them to be removed so I hope they stay. Downvotes allow us to disagree without having to respond. There are lots of people that we wouldn’t be able to have rational, logical and non emotional conversations with about topics which is the reason for not wanting to post an actual response for why we disagree. Downvotes let us communicate while keeping things non confrontational.
They’re good for snapshot community perception. Upvotes are utterly meaningless and serve no purpose if you can’t see downvotes.
I agree. Just because someone doesn't want to write multiple paragraphs (which no one is going to read anyway) about why they feel a certain topic negatively impacts their enjoyment of the game, doesn't mean that the opinion of those people is worthless.
The upvote/downvote function allows a usually silent, but nevertheless important part of the community to express their feelings on different topics.
-
This looks promising. It will probably require a bit more fine tuning but for a preview it's not too bad.
-
What soloq needs is a way to communicate and coordinate. Haste is something that needs to be heavily restricted otherwise we get mft/dull merchant

No Mither, Left Behind, either of the Invocations, Low Profile, Sole Survivor etc.
Most of these are long due for buffs/reworks
True. Especially no mither and the 2 invocations. They serve literally no other purpose than to throw games.
-
Doesn't he already have another one with that weird chicken skin?
-
Exactly. If certain perks would cause a significant amount of dodges, that should be indicative that something is wrong with the perk, not the players dodging said perk.
-
Update: the challenge tracker also marks it as completed if you escape, even if not all totems were cleansed.
-
Because of legion. He can easily keep the entire lobby injured so teammates like blight, wraith or spirit can quickly clean up all the injured survivors.

Not everything you don't like is a simulator.
Legion gameplay can literally be summed up with mending simulator because that's his entire power. Hit someone and they have to mend. In 1v4 you can just stay injured and make it less optimal for him to force to mend over and over again, but that's simply not an option in 2v8.
-
Legion's power would have needed severe balance adjustments for 2v8. I hope they do something about mending simulator in the next iteration.
-
I am genuinely impressed that they're acting so fast. I was fully expecting them to keep the bots regardless of the overwhelming amount of negative feedback. I hope that the bots will be removed permanently after the test period on Monday.

get rid of Legion
I mean I know people don’t like to face them but they’re still part of the roster. It doesn’t make sense to limit the roster instead of expand? I feel like if people are that angry then it would be better to tweak the Legion’s power than outright remove them. What about all the players who are Legion fans excited that their favorite Killer is finally in 2v8?
Idk it doesn’t seem like a it would be a good idea to remove any Killer from a gamemode for any reason other than to killswitch them if they’re glitching the game.
Legion (and by extension plague) simply can't work in 2v8. In 1v4, they can quickly injure all survivors and keep them injured but that is balanced out by the fact that afterwards they have to play tiles like normal m1 killers. This no longer applies in 2v8. Legion can easily keep all 8 survivors injured (and occasionally get a down out of it), while allowing fast teammates like blight, wraith or hillbilly to quickly dispatch them afterwards. Feral frenzy needs significant restrictions to balance it for 2v8.
-
Noed is almost exclusively used by killers that can't get anything done all game and then rely on a 4% haste boost and insta downs to make up for their ineptitude. This means that noed gives them kills they normally wouldn't have gotten and carries them to an mmr where they don't belong. This then results in them being dependent on noed and adopting a "killer so hard, survivors op" mindset.
-
Bots didn't reduce queue times because bots actively discourage real players from queuing up for the mode, so while each lobby now only needs 6 survivors, they also need to be willing to play with 2 dead weights on their team, which is why there is a lot of lobby dodging going on. No one wants a bot teammate.
-
Bots happened. They are atrocious and so far there seems to be at least 1 in every lobby, but more often than, not it's actually 2. Also, legion. I don't think I need to elaborate.

Hey there folks. Popping in here to let you know that our Community Team is treating collecting and sharing feedback with the team as our top priority today. While I'm seeing general comments about how folks feel about bots in here (which we are also sharing with the team), I'd also love to dig into the specifics of how you're feeling, as these can often be the most useful feedback points.
If there are specific instances of bots doing things that you've liked or have found disruptive in 2v8, I'd love to hear them.i want to start out by saying that bots do not belong into a pvp game. They should be removed from all future modes and modifiers. They have numeous problems and I do not believe that they can or will be fixed.
I'm still going to list the worst parts about them because in my endless naivete I believe that it might change something:
- Overall, they behave like players that just downloaded the game. This puts the entire survivor team at a huge disadvantage.
- Bots are way too scared of the terror radius. They literally crouch walk to the edge map and stay there until the terror radius is gone.
- Their pathing is terrible. On rpd it is very common to get bodyblocked by a bot that is currently trying to crouch walk away from a terror radius (see point 1) and very often they are just running around without a purpose.
- They won't ever attempt to save another player once all gens are done. Even if you are caged right next to an open gate and no killer is near, the bot will walk past you and escape.
- They miss skill checks. Completely unnecessary.
- So far, I haven't seen them use their 2v8 abilities at all. Maybe because they are too scared to do anything but hide behind a rock.
- Chests break them. I have seen them crouch around an unopened chest and they only stopped after I opened it.
- They can't handle infections. Curing an infection seems to have a very low priority for them.
- They can't handle deep wound, effectively feeding legion free downs by mending in his face.
- Their AI in chase is extremely bad. For example, they will path straight to a Z wall and vault that window 3 times even if they get hit instead of pathing to a safer structure.
This isn't even an exhaustive list, it's just what I could think of right now.
-
What? Are you seriously trying to tell me that people don't want to play with up to 2 useless bots on their side? I am shocked. Who could have seen that coming?
