  • It’s mainly survivors goofing around being the reason they lost. I win 7 matches in a row all 6-8 man outs, lost one game where only two of us got out thru hatch and then won 3 or 4 more in a row 5-8 man outs. All of the killers were in the thousands of hours range. Except a few I couldn’t check. It’s really much easier to win in 2V8 vs 1v4 imo.

  • Because it’s supposed to be a horror game. Survivors tying up killers? You can’t be serious. Survivor is meant to be the weaker prey role that desperately does whatever it takes to survive and nothing should change that dynamic.

seen very few complaining on the forum about killers tteaming but i see u in muplite threads trying desperately to stir the pot.

You must not have been on the forums or Reddit much at all the past few days. Literally tons of posts and comments complaining about it. I mean honestly you must not looking at posts right on the first page.

i don't think that is reason why queue times are bad. see, nothing changed for survivor in 2vs8. if anything, survivor lost perk variety in 8 player mode because… well it is beta version of the mode.

killer on other hand did lose perk variety but they also gained something completely new. a extra player on their team. so it is obvious that people are trying new stuff… on killer role.

Exactly. Also no duplicate killers, and certain killers are more popular. So if there are 1,000 Huntress’s queued up that means there are a thousand players who can’t match with each other.

If every single killer tried to queue up as Huntress then you would never get a match ever since they can’t have duplicates.

I bet if they released all 30+ killers the queue time would go down a bit probably.

  • I actually enjoy survivor side a lot. I genuinely can’t believe people don’t like it. Maybe because I have good mates is why I like it. I won 7 solo queue matches in a row, all of them were 6-8 man outs. Lost one but got out thru hatch and then won 4 more back to back 5-8 man outs.

I completely agree. Huntress buffs are most overreacting thing in community for last years and it still surprises me. This killer is most loopable out of all 4,4 killers even after buffs (Trickster is weaker, but looping him is not easier, I think) and at best low A tier in hands of god tier player. My own and and NL escape rate against Huntress is one of the highest across all killers. But community continue to act like we buffed Nurse and I honestly feel nothing but deep cringe reading all these "Huntress didn't need buffs", because she definately needed. Same as Shiny Pin basekit still needed. And I'm glad you are talking about it, even when community went crazy about her buffs for some reason.

It’s crazy because you would think that I (who has thousand of hours on her) or CoCoRts (who has 10,000 hours on her alone) or any other Huntress mains Would have our opinions taken seriously on the state of her kit but we are just dismissed as biased Huntress mains.

It’s a hill that I will die on and never surrender. The part that irks me the most is that some of these people who say she has fine, admit to never playing her or only occasionally playing her. Or the people who lie and say “oh I’m a Huntress main and she needs all her buffs reverted and actually needs to be nerfed!”

No one seems to understand you can like and main a character and still be unbiased towards their balance. I guess if we want to find out how a killer should be balanced we should actively avoid people who play that character a lot because they will be biased.

I’m glad to hear your thoughts on it as well. And I reference those NightLite stats a lot as well. I feel like everyone completely ignores them.

This should be the end of the thread right here. Nothing in 2v8 can be used to justify anything in regular games.

If you think about it for even a moment instead of outright dismissing it you would be surprised.

You can't blame content creators for everything. The problem was there, they just showed it to more people.

One of the only things a survivor can do at a loop with low cover is bait to pallet drop and continue looping. It's high risk, as it requires a hard read, but it works if the survivor guesses correctly. It's a positive thing, as it rewards survivors for making a good read (skill expression), whilst being counterable with a hard read from the Huntress (also skill expression).

Making her that fast whilst holding hatchets made that interaction substantially weaker for survivors, and made those interactions much easier for the Huntress to win.

BHVR should never have even tried that buff out. It made Huntress feel amazing to play, but was removed because it was too strong. They gave you something that you never should have had and then took it away. The best thing would have been for them to never make that change in the first place.

It's the same thing that happened with Xeno's tail. It felt amazing to miss with the tail and just glue yourself to the survivor and basic attack anyway for a free hit. But it was horribly unbalanced and removed skill expression from both survivors and Xeno. It got removed and it made Xeno feel worse to play. No killer enjoys being slowed down when they whiff an attack, but it's part of how the game is balanced.

Like I said the vast majority of content creators actually agreed with me that the buffs were not problematic at all just strange but didn’t need to be reverted. Some even said they it was needed. These creators all having almost or over 10,000 hours and playing at high MMR.

And I blamed content creators because the vast majority on these forums admit they never played as or against her on the PTB since they are on console YET they made a post saying it needed to be reversed despite having no clue what they were talking about.

I would like to point out that the counter play a survivor has at low loops like crouching hatchets is literally non existent for trickster as he can easily hit your head while you are crouching. And he moves at 115% and 96% when holding knives. With zero recoil and a main event with infinite ammo.

And yes you are right, I was told by a Dev that the change got reversed not because it was too strong but because of the “feedback”

She’s the least mobile killer in the game 77% when charging (slower than walking nurse) 110% normally, and has to go to lockers to reload. Gutted by cluttered and indoor maps. No movement ability like Xeno or Hag or Spirit.

Making her 85% at base would not be overpowered at all. That’s all I’m saying.

    Possibly because it's 2v8?

That would be like buffing DS to 10 seconds then deciding to nerf Trapper.

    There's really no crossover.

Think about it for one second. Seriously. You can 1v1 a buffed version of the Huntress right now. You can literally take those encounters and make decisions from them 100% and disagreeing is either disingenuous or ignorance. You obviously wouldn’t analyze anything about the chase with her at all if you got caught in a bear trap. But if you get singled out by her in this game mode you can 100% tell she is not oppressive in the slightest besides hatchet count.

The DS point is a straw man.
There is no disconnect here, actually think about it.

  • @Nazzzak said:

I hope the devs give us the 8v2 kill rate stats when this is over because I'm positive Huntress will have the highest. I'm getting barely any distance after getting hit.

She will have the highest because 1. She is picked way more than any other killer. And 2. She deals multiple damage states quickly. And there being 8 survivors gives more targets. She is stronger in this mode than 1V4 by far.

  • @Devil_hit11 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3767721#Comment_3767721

no but it does prove that you can give killer certain buffs like trapper getting sprint burst for setting a trap and it would improve base mode version of the killer.

i would say huntress wouldn't be overpowered with those changes. It is just that they should be buffing deathslinger before buffing huntress to be 10 shot deathslinger.

Agreed Deathslinger needs more help than what he got. But I’ve talked to people on these forums who think he needs to move slower while ADS and that 92% is too fast

  • @TieBreaker said:

That movement speed buff was stupid and everyone recognised that. It one was of the few things that the community seems to agree on, somehow. It made winning at loops incredibly easy, completely caving in the Huntress' skill floor and ceiling. It should never have even made it to the PTB. Five minutes of testing would shown that, and it did when the PTB began.

Everyone agreed because big content creators told them what to think. And actually now that I mention that Spooky, Coco, True and Scott Jund said the change was very strange but nothing crazy. And I can tell you didn’t play the PTB either because literally nothing changed about her counter play at all. She still moved 22% slower than survivors instead of 33% so it didnt change anything except for make her lose a little less distance.

  • @Pulsar said:

I don't think we should be using 2v8 to justify balance on anything in the base-game.

Literally zero reason not too. You can actively see changes in game and play against them. It actually wouldn’t make any sense not to analyze the changes.

  • @ReverseVelocity said:

    A) The movement speed buff is quite significantly less than what was rolled out on the PTB. So it's not really an accurate representation of how the PTB change would've ended up.

    B) Nurse can get 3 Blinks and Trapper has Sprint Burst when setting a Trap. We shouldn't necessarily be adding the buffs from 2v8 into the killer's base kits. Both sides are generally significantly stronger than what they should be in 1v4 for the fun of it.

3% less. And nobody asked for her to move that fast, we wanted shiny pin basekit. Which as proven by 2v8 is completely fine and not broken like people said.

  • @mizark3 said:

If anything 2v8 proves the opposite, that Huntress doesn't need any buffs. The only match I've lost as Huntress was with a Wraith who forgot his brain in his other pair of pants, and I've even won 2-3 matches with Trapper as my partner (while playing Huntress).

On the other hand I’ve seen 7 matches in a row where we got 6 to 8 man outs. All Huntress matches

  • Being a female survivor is irrelevant, I play Leon and get humped too. It’s just a way to BM and can not be changed, they are literally walking forward and backward and it looks nothing like humping at all. I wouldn’t worry about it and if it does really bother you then just DC because staying to avoid the penalty isn’t worth the negative experience.

  • Honestly I believe there should be a basekit unbreakable because there is genuinely no reason to slug for more than 20 seconds.

  • Making it where you can play the same killers would probably help a lot. But might throw balance out the window. Huntress has the highest pick rate on average so it takes me 15-20 minutes on average as well to find a match.

I just played as Trapper and you're right. I got so many Survivors trapped, I couldn't believe it. It was total chaos but fun too. @HexHuntressThighs and I got an 8K.

Some survivors were lagging pretty bad too, they were down to one generator, good plays and everything but yeah, they weren't mindful of traps.

Trapper was a better pick than I thought. I downed a couple people caught in traps from half the map away!

Serious question: how would you ban Discord without installing malware on a person's computer, and how would you stop people from using it on their phones to bypass that? And Xbox and PlayStation have their own voice chat features, which if I remember correctly games are not allowed to interfere with.

You obviously couldn’t stop it on the phones. I think 99% of survivors would willingly stop using Discord because Proximity chat would literally be 1,000 times more fun. They could add something to the game to block discord from popping up and i don’t think it could be called malware at all since you could just use discord without the game being open.

  • Just in time for 2V8! Time to Kill With Friends!

Billy needs a 5 second cooldown every chainsaw use so he can't spam it every time he misses an instadown. In return buff his overdrive duration a little bit.

That's a horrible idea, Billy is fine. Indoor maps are brutal for him, windows are a nightmare without bamboozle. 95% of Billies can't curve that well. Literally one of the easiest killers to loop when using their power unless the Billy is cracked or you are caught in a deadzone. At the most give him a cooldown when he is by a hooked survivor.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Huntress ? she just need a shield maiden skin.

A Valkyrie skin would be sick and make a lot of sense

  • Ban discord and give survivors proximity chat. Way more fun and way less broken.

  • Nothing quite like losing because you are good at the game. Seems fair and balanced to me!👍

  • Yup, I was gonna make a post about it but I knew people would just attack me for it. The variations are horrible, they added so much clutter and junk. Still a huge dead zone so if being chase by an M1 killer it won’t help at all but if it’s a ranged killer then they have no power because all of the clutter.

The new small high wall tiles they added to the cold wind farm maps are also brutal for me because you can’t land hatchets at them no matter how good you are. Huntress drops to 77% so it’s literally impossible to get a hatchet off at those small loops before they round the corner. Yet another type of loop where she is forced to be an M1 killer.

She needs to be 115% already honestly. Same with Slinger.

  • Dont unhook someone 2 seconds after the killer leaves. I know you can’t control that but this should be standard for everyone because I will guaranteed come back immediately if you can’t wait for me to leave.

On the same hand, don’t unhook too late either. If there is 10 seconds left on the timer you can be sure I’ll be there to try and secure stage 2.

Don’t body block for a healthy unhooker. Sometimes I’ll return to unhook if I can’t find anyone and go after the unhooker.

If I am losing then there is nothing that can be done. I want to win and will do what it takes. I have been in situations where I am losing bad and ended up slugging the whole team and winning.

If you are toxic then there is also nothing that can be done to stop me from being there for your unhook.

That's probably just survivors being incompetent tbh, as no one should gets down quickly by powerless M1 killer or hit by 4.1 janky bot

Could be. I would argue most survivors aren't too great so the Knight is fine as is. Since we obviously don’t balance around good survivors. Otherwise killers with a lot of counter play like Slinger, Huntress and Larry would be getting more buffs.

  • @kosaba11 said:

Nothing makes me hate this game more than facing Leatherface. He's way too strong with very little in the way of drawbacks, and the people who play him, without exception, are always toxic.

facts, I was just about to comment this. And the fact that they can be absolutely horrendous at the game but always secure one to two kills in the end game.

  • @duygu said:

since killres are getting their mandatory addons implemented into their kit such as map of the realm and soma picture devs should switch the base dash values with current unicorn medallion values. it's impossible to play wesker without either the unicorn medallion or golden egg

That’s not even totally true because Shiny Pin is considered a mandatory add on for many Huntress’s and she wasn’t allowed to keep that buff. Survivors rallied together and got it reverted.

  • What are the odds you get those three killers anyways? Huntress supposedly has an 8% pick rate and yet I never see her. Having a filter is a terrible idea. I bought the game and I shouldn’t be punished because survivors don’t want to play against the killer I like to play. Skully, knight and Nurse would die over night.

  • I would argue Jailer is the best because he can keep a survivor of gens for almost 30 seconds. And if you chase someone else than half the team isn’t sitting on gens. I win a lot of my games by using jailer to just pressure survivors cross map.

  • I personally would rather have survivors swarming me. It lets me relax knowing where they all are and gives me a good chance to snowball. What worries me greatly is when I’m chasing a survivor and downing them and no one is nearby anywhere. Because that means they are efficient and cooking gens.

  • @Hex_Ignored said:

That's how map reworks work. You simply take a map and:

    Shrink the map

    Insert huge dead zones

Remove all windows that are even remotely decent

Create new, much weaker versions of jungle gyms

And presto, you have a reworked map

They should’ve used your idea when they added variations to Ormond and Coldwind. Now those maps have way too many heavily survivor sided loops. Along with an insane amount of clutter, any ranged killer gets cooked on those maps now.

  • Honestly there is no reason to be able to lock lockers anymore. Even If lockers couldn’t be locked he would still be mid.

I would be fine with 56-58% kill rate. The current kill rate seems even higher than 60%.

Well good news for you! Roughly 19 killers are in that kill rate range! So over half fit right where you want them.

All of those changes doesn't even make him better at this point. The cooldown of using power is way too long. I'm basically an M1 Killer half the games. Ridiculous.

We have to be playing two different knights.

  • There is a survivor class that gives all the other survivors wallhacks. It’s definitely not gonna be balanced right away and will be changed in future iterations.

  • New knight feels great honestly. I never played him in that lame af “drop a gaurd at loop” play style so the changes he got actually helped an immense amount. Especially being able to cycle guards.

Permanent stealth Knight is definitely my favorite

The perk has a strong and useful effect, this alone makes it sorta "unfun" for some survivors, but why would you want this nerfed? The perk alone is rather useless, it needs to be paired with Franklins (I know, another perk that survivors kinda hate ^_-), and thus already uses up half the killers perks slots - slots that can't be used for the dreaded "omg every killer is using 4 slowdown/gen perks, I can't do gens!" combo.

If you don't want to FORCE killers not to use slowdown, you need to give them strong perks that are either fun or impactful to the game. And if you call for nerfs everytime something comes along that could shake up the meta, nothign will change.

A perk should NEVER have to have another perk to support it. It should be good enough to stand on its own. Just like the fact that they’re should be any basic attack perks besides exposed perks. Why create perks that 1/4 of the roster can’t use?

  • @AggressiveFTW said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3759669#Comment_3759669

Why should we have a perk that lets us be brain dead in a constant way? It needs to have a cooldown to not make it basically have brain dead usage on ranged killers especially.

Because it provides a singular aura read on a singular survivor for 7 seconds. It needs no cooldown, a 15 second one at most. They’re are plenty of brain dead perks on both sides so that’s not an excuse honestly.

Killer perks are not meant to be stronger because survivors have more in total. I've never heard the devs say anything like that.

Also, that's the craziest take you've ever heard? Have you spent any time on the forums?

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3759651#Comment_3759651

It's not my fault that perks don't have variations depending on the killer that's running them. Blame BHVR for the Nurse bottleneck.

It’s Hyperbole lol, not literal. And yes Killer is the power role, their perks are supposed to be stronger that’s how this game works. Look at pain Rez 20% of the Gen with the most progress. Survivors don’t have a perk anywhere near that strong. Fast track could add 27% to a Gen but that requires every survivor to be dead lol. Every killer perk is stronger than its survivor counterpart.

  • IAE shouldn’t have a cooldown at all. It’s an aura read on a single person up to 48 meters away. Meanwhile Gearhead, BBQ, Lethal, Floods, Darkness and so on are all multiple survivors at once. Also I’ve had too many times where I’m chasing a survivor and another one 20 meters away fast vaults and steals the aura read.

  • @Spirit_IsTheBest said:

They need to remove the Oblivious status, other than that the perk is fine.

The perk definitely is not fine, it’s literally one of the worst perks in the game without Franklins devise to help it. It needs to be reworked entirely.

  • @TieBreaker said:

Distortion needs to be strong enough to counter the best killers running full aura builds. If it's not viable against a Nurse running aura reading then what's the point in the perk?

This is the craziest take I’ve ever heard. One work should not counter 4 perks, let alone killer perks. Killer perks are supposed to be stronger because they get 4 perks compared to survivors potentially having 16 and having comms. You should need bare minimum two aura read negation perks to counter a full aura build. Gearhead is the only reason full aura still works.

  • Autohaven maps are considered great for Huntress but for some reason I can’t stop getting cooked on Bloodlodge. Every other Autohaven map I do good on except for Bloodlodge and I have no clue why.

Completely irrelevant to 99.9% of players.

Balancing around comp is an extremely dumb move. "Ah yes, let's balance around 200 players whilst screwing over the other 59,999,800 players, surely that will go well"

Ignoring comp completely is far dumber. Considering it shows what killers are like against equally skilled survivors. Simply put if you think Huntress is overpowered in any form, the comp scene proves it’s a skill issue. That’s all.

1 … 5 6 7 8 9 … 23
