Wrong. There's a reason quitting gets you punished. When you log into a MULTIPLAYER game, you have a duty to NOT ruin it for your fellow players. I mean, unless you're completely self-absorbed and selfish and don't care about anyone but yourself.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2915779#Comment_2915779

Wrong again. See my above statement. When you log into the game, you have a duty to not be a jerk. Hence why people get punished for griefing, cheating, and DCing in most multiplayer games.

Social contracts are a real thing. Also; try getting your friends together for a board game night every weekend and quit playing when you begin to lose every time. I bet, in short order, they'd stop playing board games with you.

just because you have no other hobbies doesnt mean everyone else has to adhere to your ideals. people dc all the time and wait for teh ban to lift then join again. there is literally no requirement to say in the game, yes there is punishment for not doing so, but no, social contracts are not a real thing. good try though

  • hey man. if my girlfriend is feeling frisky, i don't care how well the round is going or whos match im ruining, no "social contract" matters at that point.

also: there is no social contract. If people wanna quit, they have every right to do that in just about every facet of life. Video games, board games, jobs, living in general. theres no fine print anywhere that states you HAVE to stay.

Lol, it's a multi player pvp game. Part of the social contract of playing games is to follow the rules and not to just quit mid game for whatever reason.

Ever play a board game where someone just quits? It basically ruins the game for everyone else. So yes, people are going to make the suggestion to quit playing all together if your skin is so thin that you can't handle a little adversity in a 10 minute video game.

  • are you switching characters that often?

seems unnecessary really. switching characters takes one button, granted you have to sift through them to get the one you want. at most, it would save a miniscule amount of time, all of which would be lost waiting in the lobby anyway.

  • this game does not need more fortnite like mechanics

plus, yeah. killers would say every pose a survivor does is toxic or bullying so might as well not even try

The reason we don't have a wall crawler killer is open maps like sheltered woods or rotten fields would hard counter them. Plus it might be broken at jungle gyms. "OH your looping a pallet. I'll climb over the wall"

    r/woosh

i was referencing re5 and the infamous "lets make chris punch a boulder during a boss fight" cinematic

  • @Marc_123 said:

I know what you mean but the effort would be too much.

I am not sure we ever get a killer that can use the walls like Alien or a Spider or so.

oroboros-wesker would be kinda funny though. make chris punch some rocks around the map and somehow defeat him that way.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2913588#Comment_2913588

yes some new killers say i didn't 4k so they are obviously cheating, yea but when u camp at 1 gen with 0 hooks and then get the ggez and baby killer in the chat because u aren't running what every single killer is running, while EVERY SINGLE survivor is running dead hard, ds a flashlight and boons it tends to get a tiny bit frustrating, while EVERY survivor complains about noed even tho its an end game collapse perk and can be easily countered by doing bones and does help you mid or early game

keep generalizing, really helps your argument.

  • lol nnah. break the walls and you have an edge as killer. pretty consistently do survivors get wrecked on that map out of the 50 some times i played that map, maybe half of them i've made it out alive, even less than that were multple survs made it

  • yeah

just don't take it so seriously and aim to have fun. if you're a killer, be prepared to not 4k

if youre a survivor, be prepared to get tunneled. at the end of the day, the game is what you make it. If you're getting heated over how annoying survivors are or how many times you got looped as a killer, you're focusing too much on how it went wrong. If you focus on how much fun it was and what you did correctly, there ya go. You play casually

  • @AcelynnBen said:

No this is fair and balanced and doesn't need to be changed because killers aren't players just bots and they don't deserve to have fun

    -literally every survivor main atm

love the "us v them" energy here. kinda like how every killer main is "nerf this survivor Perk because i said so" or " i didnt 4k this round so obviously everyone is bullying me/cheating"

    I don't know if I'm high mmr but if I am TBH I wish I wasn't.

None of them were even that good in the chase. Yet I get a 1k.

Utter garbage and I'm getting sick of it.

    get good

  • kinda like when killers dc after you've looped em too many times and they wanna save face.

if you can't take the humility, try a new game.

  • @slunder said:

RPD sucks, it is beautiful but so can any map be if it is reworked, and even then having a beautiful map means nothing when it sucks gameplay wise.

    1) Some people have more lag problems on this map.

    2) To be able to have fun on this map, you have to learn it, otherwise you will just be in a crap maze that is boring. You can either learn it as you play it and get tons of crap matches in which you are useless and ruin your teammate's fun or you can go in KYF and walk around to learn it (which either needs a friend or an alt account, which can be tedious to do or waste someone else's time) and even then you need to actually do the memorization which sucks, why would I want to learn a map in a video game when I can learn useful stuff IRL instead. The point of learning in a video game is for fun, but just knowing how a map is made is boring. Is there literally any other map in which you need to do a tedious memorization just to be able to enjoy?

    3) The map has too many op loops and things you can abuse (like a library). It is also incredibly frustrating

    4) Lastly, in this map, it is more about which killer you picked than skill. You picked a stealth killer? Easy win! You picked Huntress or Billy? Rest in peace! Your power is blindly multiplied or divided depending on the killer you picked.

    5) We already have enough maps for variety, for more variety the ideal is to just add new mini games and & or a story mode.

play the resident evil remasters and you'll learn the map REAL fast. they wont ever just get rid of a map, so everyone complaining about it either need to suck it up or swallow their pride and just learn to deal. it's really not that difficult of a map to play, especially for resident evil fans. I've played the map with a plethora of killers and i've never had a major issue to the point of having a melt down.

  • nope, try again.

Just be respectful to your fellow DBD player Guys, It's only a game if the game doesn't go your way or you get tunneled, camped whatever you can vent your frustrations in a respectable manner. For the love of god wishing harm or death on anyone is absolutely disgusting behavior. Hold people accountable for actions yes but in a humane way. Rant over just wanted to share an experience I had last night. Take Care everyone and be safe.

that is what we call a temper tantrum. You can sleep easy tonight knowing you're far more mature, happy and less demented than they are, especiallly because, like you said, its a video game. it doesnt run that deep and anyone who gets THAT upset about losing does not have the mental capacity to understand when they've gone too far, let alone feel remorse for crossing the line. I sincerely apologize you had ot encounter that, but just know you're a a better human than they are.

  • @Deadeye said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2902086#Comment_2902086

I pointed that out in my OP as well. Waiting out dead hard in the open is not the problem, you extend the chase for 2 seconds. The problem is skilled players that can already loop for a minute and extend it to 90 seconds with that perk. Average players probably get more value out of any other exhaustion perk

right, but you're essentially saying it should be nerfed, which would mean the unskilled survivors would be f##### six ways ot sunday, just because someone out there is actually skilled with it. That doesnt seem very constructive for anyone. Instead of nerfing DH for everyone, rework it so it cant be used ad infinitum. Gives the newbies a chance to learn how to use it effectively, limit the good ones from abusing it.

  • i've been mentioning a jeepers creepers chapter, along with the likes of: (granted most of them would be unusable either via licensing or just the size of them and they wouldnt translate to video games well )

    Pennywise

    Slenderman

    Jeepers Creepers

    the exorcist

    Chucky

    The monsters from "the mist"

the monsters from "a quiet place"

    pumpkin head

    boogyman (2012 moviesd)

    candyman

    bloody mary

    art the clown, from terrifier

    babadook

baby face from the hills run black (although a bit too similar to trapper in mask appearance and ideal)

the crooked man would be cool, as would the nun: both from the conjuring.

twisty the clown (probably too close to the current clown though)

mama (from mama)(( very similar to the hag))

    honorable mentions:

sam (trick r treat), patrick bateman, jack torrence, hannibal lecter, norman bates, harry warden (bloody valentine), (i know none of these would work, but in theory it'd be cool)

or any 90s slasher fillm villain that isnt already in the game

  • so punish the less skilled for what the highly skilled do, with nothing done to the killers to level it for the unskilled?

    makes sense /s

  • all of them

i zone out and forget what it is im doing. im also terrible at looping and spend 30% of my rounds just having fun/screwing around

"nobody makes me bleed my own blood!"

BHVR just announced last month that the game surpassed 50 million players (https://ftw.usatoday.com/2022/03/dead-by-daylight-50-million-players). If they lost 60% playerbase and still have over 50 million players that is a huge success - any software company would love to have those numbers! And name one video game that doesn't have players demanding a refund or claiming the game is "broken" - everything from WoW to Diablo to Call of Duty and Fortnight to Halo and beyond is filled with complaints from players intending to quit for the exact same reasons you cited. Thats just the nature of video games.

What else would you call a 60% playerbase loss in 8 months?

Furthermore there's hundreds of thousands of comments all over youtube regarding their Q&A's where it's nothing but negative feedback.

I think you're just a bigtime denialist who for whatever reason can't see what's right in front of them.

The only reason I'm still here is in the hope that the devs or mods of these forums actually witness this stuff and start to think about what they can do to change the game because I'd come back in a heartbeat if I started to see some real changes in the right direction.

People like you simply don't help because you're willing to accept the game in its current state which gives them incredibly bad info.

nah. i just have better things to spend my time/energy on. if you're basing the data on steam charts, they're irrelevant because the only take steam accounts for data, same with console. your confirmation bias of only looking at negative feedback and complaints does nothing to further your temper tantrum attitude. I still think the game is a hoot, as do hundreds of thousands of other players.

just as the last dude stated, you want to cry on a forum about how unfun and unfair the game is nut no ones making you play, no ones made you spend that much time with it, no ones asking you to stay, no ones asking you to announce your departure, just leave if its that bad. Otherwise, take a deep breathe and get over it.

You're so far away from the point now it's actually hilarious man.

The point being made by myself and thousands if not tens of thousands of other players is the game is frustrating and boring.

We don't want to stop playing the game but that's where it leads eventually because nothing is being done to imrpove the games health.

This has nothing to do with playing a "victim card" or whatever the hell else you believe. It simply boils down to one factor, the game sucks in its current state and literally nothing to this point has been done to curb how much it sucks. Now you can ignore this very real fact and blame it on my so called anger or whatever the hell other bull you wanna come up with but it doesn't do anything except hide the real problem.

I'm done here, have fun with your dying game.

lololololo "i'm not having fun so that means its dying"

leave the game if you want, other people still have fun. Go have fun with your anger issues

  • for 13 minutes a rando and i (as survivors) did the point emote at one another (to the point it looked like we were poking eachother non stop) near a barrel fire (forget the map). we kept it up until the killer (piggy) found us, then she just crouched up and down while we poked one another. near the end of the game both rando and i were injured standing under a hook to help piggy get a kill. instead she downed us both, brought us to the gates and let us go free. THe poking/crouching was hilariious and i wish i could find the piggy to thank them for such a fun match

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2899479#Comment_2899479

AGAIN, It has nothing to do with the title. That is just ONE example of how bad and frustrating the game has become.

Either you can't read or you struggle to read between the lines.

Whichever one it is just proves there's no point trying to explain anything to you because you just don't comprehend a simple point despite it being exactly that, a very simple point. It doesn't have much to do with the achievement other than the fact that it was an EXAMPLE.

see, the thing is , im well aware of what you're trying to say, it's just completely overshadowed by the fact that you, announcing you're uninstalling the game due to x y and z factors boils down to you, being upset that you cant do this or that, despite spending 1000+ hours in the game itself, would be a temper tantrum. Reading between the lines is one thing, but the intrinsic behaviors at play here are far more volatile than you lead on. Just learn to take a breathe and get over some stuff and i promise you'd have more fun not only in life, but in dbd. However, since you're playing the victim card so hard, i doubt anything i or anyone else could possibly say could ever get you to realize that dbd in and of itself is not a big deal, and is not a catalyst for you to express your frustration for things you can't control.

  • @impulse_90 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2899462#Comment_2899462

Again... Did you bother to read what I JUST said?

It's about the overall state of this game for killers in general. It can also be frustrating from the survivor perspective too as I play both roles around 50/50 as well so I get how annoying it can be for survivor as well but the level of frustration for killer is far worse.

You seem to be zeroing in on this adept thing that I brought up as ONE example of how frustrating the game is for killer but it was just one thing I was using to illustrate my point.

And who are you to diagnose someone with anger management issues over frustration caused by a video game where heaps of other players are experiencing the exact same frustration. You gonna claim they have anger management issues as well?

Your point is well flawed buddy whichever way you look at it.

I have 1k hours btw so this isn't just based on a small amount of hours, it's based on a few years of playing the game on and off.

This time playing the game in both roles has shone a bright light on some of the games big flaws which is what leads to the frustration I'm talking about.

So once again before you continue blurting out more rubbish I implore you to actually think before you actually type out more trash.

....yes. that is considered an anger issue

you're proud to have sunk that much time into a video game you're abandoning because you can't get the title you want? yikes dude

  • @impulse_90 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2899311#Comment_2899311

Who do you think your'e talking to? Some baby 200 hour killer? I 4k'd two out of 3 of those games and it still wasn't enough for an adept achievement.

That isn't my main point anyway. The issue is for killer in general you have to play so scummy and sweaty to even get wins against remotely capable survivors. Anyone who thinks this is fine clearly hasn't seen the amount of people quitting this game as a result of this type of gameplay. These people will simply just go down with the sinking ship that is DBD eventually because that's where we're heading.

So next time you label me uninstalling the game as a so called "temper tantrum" when it literally is justified frustration that tens of thousands of other players are also encountering as well I'd say ponder a little more on what rubbish you're about to blurt out next because you essentially just put all of those frustrated people in the same category, not too bright are you?

if a video game is frustrating you to the point of needing ot uninstall, you are having a temper tantrum. i 50/50 my time between killer and survivor. the only difference is, i know how to calm myself down and remind myself it's a video game. not getting adept doesnt affect me in any way shape or form. If your hanup is that you can't get adept and THATS the push you needed to get up in arms about it, you have some serious anger management issues. Frustration is one thing, its another to devote 200+ hours to a game then completely remove yourself from said game over ONE arbitrary, criteria-changing title that affects NO ONE in or out of the game.

Hyperbole and allegory are lost in a place like this.

Just because someone is saying someone negative does not mean it's a 'temper tantrum'.

The point of this illustration is to show that complaints are not, by virtue, inappropriate or overtly dramatic.

So long as someone's grievances are grounded in a relevant truth, they can be viewed as constructive to a point - if not, at the very least, understandable.

To decry someone and dismiss their activity as childish when they voice their concerns is antithetical to the point of a forum.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2896366#Comment_2896366

    • It's a forum. You can announce your experience, yes. It may be valid or not, in your case, you explicitly made it an invalid expression - in which case it should be ignored rather than discouraged outright. We are not here to discourage discussions.

    • You're missing the point of the post completely, which is not simply about the necessarily obtuse nature of adept challenges, but about the killer experience overall and the complete disregard of the experience from the developers.
    • There is no such thing as an inherently 'difficult' adept challenge. There are only bad perks. Upon this, adept challenges for killers are incredibly easy at low ranks - you can accomplish them by pure accident. However, they become outright IMPOSSIBLE to accomplish in high ranks. Ghost Face at top rank basically feels impossible to get adept with, if he's your first killer, you can get it in your first couple of matches. Not only does this 'argument' completely disregard that survivor adepts aren't a challenge at all, nor that killer adepts aren't much of a challenge on bad players - only 'good' ones, but it also ignores the overall point of the post - which is that the developers have forsaken the experience... the Adept challenges wouldn't be nearly the challenge they were if the requirements weren't so strange... but if the perks were not such absolute garbage, it would also not be such a strange concept. It's already a 'challenge' to accomplish such goals with only 3 perks - doing it with garbage perks doesn't help much ever. Adept Meyers at high MMR is basically impossible to accomplish - as the roundabout accomplishments are completely contrary to his play style and perks. To try to argue in FAVOR of the current Adept system is to be willingly ignorant of its pitfalls ; atop missing the point of the post altogether.
    • So... your plan is to make a counterargument - then to basically agree with him and aid in his point by conceding that this is burning him out, and he should just stop playing... as YOU have? That's not much of a counter to a complaint.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2896532#Comment_2896532

That's not how a bell curve works - not a graph.

The more players you have, the more likely you will be paired with people 'close' to your MMR is a generalization that does not take into account the average MMR level.

This is the same as saying 'The more people in your town, the more people over 150 IQ there will be' or 'The more you gamble, the more you win' - just because there's a chance for something by means of numerics does not indicate a result based off of averages.

Not only does it depend on the average MMR, but it also depends on the time of day.

Just because the player count increases does not mean that the quality of MMR, by merit, becomes greater - especially for outliers.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2896647#Comment_2896647

    Uhhh...

Survivor Adept is a 50/50 shot as enforced by MMR (Ideally)

Killer adept requires literally flawless gameplay at higher ranks.

You literally can lose your Adept from 3 Exposed downs on healthy survivors, a single flashlight save, or one generator being completed in 90 seconds - which is almost always at higher ranks.

I get if you're pointing out the differences in gameplay. But you're blatantly ignoring the inherent differences between the challenges.

It isn't apples to oranges, it's 50/50 crapshoot to literally being held to a nearly impossible standard of perfection.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2896807#Comment_2896807

They actually do - they admitted as much in their latest update.

If you're in que for a few seconds - the current MMR system says 'screw it' and grabs the best people ASAP.

A large part of the reason behind the recent MMR tests is to determine the right 'balance' for this, as the community seems to disfavor throwing MMR scores out the window after sitting in que for 30 seconds or so.

you must be fun at parties.

    please, mansplain me harder.

condescend all you want, still a temper tantrum, especially with the obvious holier-than-thou mentality you've got goin on. Seeing as how yo're jailed too, i'm willing to bet even the mods agree in a similar manner that you're just going out of your way to be a dick to each and every statement that doesn't 100% agree with yours. IE- temper tantrum

This is extremely cringe.. and only a teacher of any kind would look at such a large issue with such a narrow view.

Your ability to think crticially just isn't there at all and you don't see the entire picture in any way whatsoever.

It has nothing to do with winning, it has nothing to do with anger management or whatever the hell kind of trash you just spat out.

Killers at mid-high MMR levels feel helpless, survivors can very easily bully a killer especially on comms.

Next time you post something like this I'd suggest doing a bit of research and finding out just how frustrated the killer playerbase actually is instead of attempting to link their frustration to that of your so called preschool kids because in no way is that a valid analogy.

lol as if i don't play killer on my days off.

if you wanna convince yourself you're disadvantaged to the point of delirium in terms of a VIDEO GAME, you're going to live a very sad life.

players will bully players regardless of which side they play. only an incel would play the victim card this hard, especially when it's essentially a temper tantrum when they play three rounds, don't get a 4k each round and immediately announce they're uninstalling the game.

i highly suggest that next time you want to condescend to someone, you pick a topic that inst as arbitrary as a video game. or at least, find a better soap box to stand on.

Fortnite isn't terrible, aside from the cavalcade of 11 year olds who think that n-bombs are the height of comedy.

    Pubg...yeah.

However, none of these are even close to the CS:GO or EVE Online communities, or, if you want to go further back, the original DoTA or Halo communities.

Agreed. The DbD community is the only one I've seen that complains about efficiency. Granted, I haven't been a part of many multi-player communities, but still

spoiler alert: the only ones nearly as bad as this community are the fortnite community and the pubg community. Even then, people still dont take it as seriously as the DBD community takes this game
