  • Wow that’s pretty sick. Thanks for the recommendation! 😊

It’s reminding me of a Merciless Storm Doctor I read about on here some time ago.

    I'm happy to help. 😃

I believe these are the only 3 perks in the game that can actually increase your TR. You have the Calm Addons for a bit more range while Static Blast is up. If it's for Static Blast though, Agitation won't help because it's only active while you're carrying a survivor.

One pretty fun TR build I tried on Doctor is Distressing, Agitation double Calm Addons and Septic Touch + Starstruck. As long as your Static Blast is up, there is almost no way for them to escape your TR and Agitation takes care of the rest.

Wow this build sounds evil hahaha I can’t wait to try it! Starstruck is so much fun. Thanks again so much. This game is like a ball of yarn for curious people. I appreciate you indulging my curiosity.

I can’t believe how fun it is to play as the Doctor.

How do you feel about Impossible Skill Checks? Definitely my favorite build with him.

Love them. Anything to give the Survivors a scary time.

  • @Xernoton said:

I recommend Eruption or Dragon's Grip, Thwack!, Distressing and Infectious Fright. For addons I recommend either Calm addons or Order addons in whatever combination you like. You'll have people screaming non stop especially on smaller maps. Although for the love of all that is holy, don't send yourself to The Game. That is simply too painful to play against.

If you shock someone with Shock Therapy, then they are unable to interact with hooks, survivors, totems, chests, gens, windows and pallets for 2.5 seconds. You'll need to look out for latency though. Sometimes you'll have a survivor scream and still vault or drop a pallet. This does not work with Static Blast as far as I know.

That was a great answer and is exactly what I’m looking for, thank you! 😊

Off-chance would you happen to know a good build centered around max terror radius? So like distressing, agitation, monitor and abuse (?), and… I’m stumped on the fourth perk choice.

you can't chase the first one u see, cuz you have to find the first repairing gen. You can't tunnel cuz OTC babysitter and DS. You can't play hit and run cuz it will trigger a perk that lets surv repair faster. You can't be slugging cuz Unbroken. You have to catch the toolbox one, you have to slug and hook one by one, you have to hit every M2 cuz you can't afford the time loss of missing one. You have to be very careful when you carrying up a slug, like disassembling a bomb, even tho you are the killer not them. You have to play like a precise computer as a human. While Your components benefit from all of your behavior, even hooking. Survs can easily counter any killer by gen rush, survs has three chances, they just need to annoy on the forum so BVHR will nurf the killer.

I must be sick that play killer in 2024 rather than play SWF.

The things is that the mmr will put you where you belong. What’s even nicer is that one of the iridescent medals for Killer requires you to have 9 hook actions. So even the game itself rewards you for spreading hooks.

My point is that if you spread hooks as much as possible, the mmr will put you in a spot where you can mostly do that. People who want to win at all costs play with the same kind of people, and I can’t imagine that those games are in any way shape or form relaxing.

The thing is then i have fairly allot of games with lag… i have like between 10 - 20 ms as i live fairly close to europe servers. Sometimes i have a feeling im getting in lobby's where 2 - 3 people can outrun me constantly i can't explain it. I have about 2,8k hours into the game 2,3k atleast on killer. I am not saying i am the best but i know what to do but i have a feeling that most most games have subtle speed cheaters or so it feels.

If it really is lag compensation (i know activision does this with CoD also) then it just sucks. But it would be nice to know if it is actually a thing so i know i am not turning insane. 😂

I get you, I went through the same stuff. It was the really strong wiggling that gave it away for me. It seems like they get short little speed bursts too huh? If yeah then I do think it’s the lag.

  • @Kerkvlerk said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3807366#Comment_3807366

Sometimes i also think like hu? this wiggling is way harder then normal but maybe its my mind tricking me… so i dont mind that to much… the thing i sometimes have is that for some reason i just can't seem to come closer to survivors. That when running in a straight line i can't hit them as killer but when i do the exact same thing playing survivor they catch me within a few seconds… but again could be the mind playing tricks on me.

There’s a chance it might be lag. I think the game compensates for it and it manifests as short bursts of speed etc.

If I play on a different country server I notice that I seem to get away with a little more than usual. I notice my wiggling seems more powerful but I think it’s just the lag compensation.

How did you come to that conclusion? Because Mikaela or Sable arent mentioned anywhere in the event's lore.

No, just two Survivors that Zzzzl is associated with.

“The strange vibrations led to a ruined castle where people and creatures dressed in elaborate suits and masks celebrated the Sweet Darkness. Another twisted realm created out of the waste of the abyss to entertain Zzzzl. She is quite impossible to understand, and heaven knows I've tried with every little bit I could find about her. Talbot writes about her in his notes. He believes she's one of the unknowns who went mad with the knowledge she possessed. According to him, she has no recollection of her past life or even her name. Barra described something similar. Same with Shelly, only Shelly refers to her as one of the guardians and believes she came from an advanced world much like my own. Baker, however, describes a powerful trickster who uses marooned survivors to collectively manifest her designs to impress or outdo The Entity, if that's even possible. He believed her realms existed outside the control of The Entity and could potentially poison the dimension if they were allowed to grow. Baker claims one or two victims contained the root of the memories being used to manifest her realm. Destroy the root, destroy the realm. I stared at these unsuspecting survivors and couldn't figure out who Zzzzl had chosen to manifest her design. I thought of hacking through them all, but then quickly realized that's probably why she lured me here, and I refused to give her the satisfaction. And so, I continued my journey through The Void with the sounds of a great party fading behind me.“

Also because it states that she is one of the “unknowns”.

But this is just a guess by me. I’m not 100% sure.

Spirit has better chase, while Dracula has better tracking. Spirit leaves a lot less room for error and sometimes offers straight up no counterplay. Draculas bat is a very strong tool to catch up with survivors mid chase. In my opinion, it's a bit too strong right now, because it negates gaining any distance on him. This makes any form of play you do to gain distance feel irrelevant.

Does not mean, that he's too strong, just unpleasant to play against in that singular aspect.

I'm not sure I understand the question. Forced from which perspective?

If it's forced from the survivor perspective, as in the killer can hook the survivor and is choosing not to, that's very bad. There are times I'd consider it vigilante justice within the context of the match, like if a survivor was BMing all game or if they were trolling their teammates or if they refused to play the game and immediately ran to a hook, but on any mass scale, it's just the killer being a dick. I do not accept "I slugged everyone at 5 gens because 4% exists" as a reasonable excuse. One player unhooking themselves isn't going to save that game and it'll still be over faster. I would go so far as to say that most if not all players who claim that are using it as a shield for spiteful intentions.

If it's forced from the killer perspective, it's… I guess slightly less bad, because the killer still wins the game, just has a very annoying timewaster experience doing it. It's insult but not injury, or maybe injury without insult, where survivors get both.

If it's because of Flip Flop Boil Over, bleeding out the survivor is as much an act of karma as it is the correct counterplay for the build. In that case, the survivor chose their playstyle and has no right to complain about the consequences, and beyond chat baiting, I'm pretty sure those players understand that full well. But such games are thankfully rare.

Survivors wandering off in mass slug situations are also annoying for the killer, though I understand why survivors do it and I've done it myself - it's easy to get angry at being left on the floor, hail mary hatch aside. That's the core of the problem - nobody likes not being able to play the game and slugging is in an especially irritating spot where you don't even have the freedom to die, which makes being left on the floor even worse than being left on hook. I do like your idea of basekit deerstalker once everyone's on the ground, though.

And if you meant forced bleedouts as in survivors being able to kill themselves once certain criteria are met - I've always supported the idea, though I also support survivors replacing themselves with a bot instead to preserve the ability of killers to slug for the 4k. Some challenges are pretty obnoxious without it.

My question was vague but you still thoroughly answered it 😊

I always appreciate your well thought-out answers.

I think killers would appreciate a free buff and survivors would be against it even if you specify it's only if all 4 survivors are slugged. The amount of ppl who complain about slugging while keeping the mentality of "you wasted my time and now I'll waste yours" is astounding. That's the same ppl who would crawl to the corner of the map before hook respawns even when the match was over. Basically the same people complaining about hook respawns would be against this. At the same time, the people PURPOSEFULLY bleeding out survivors aren't going to start hooking just because of a built in aura reading. This would only help those who would've hooked people if they could just find them.

You bring up arguments that are difficult to refute. I respect your pov.

What’s your take on forced bleedouts?

4 minutes on the whole team is only really a thing if someone like Bubba gets 4 downs all at once. Typically, if someone wants to slug... ESPECIALLY if they brought perks for slugging, by the time the last survivor goes down, there was a whole game of picking ppl up and them going down again and those bleed out bars are pretty decently progressed. It's not 4 people waiting 4 minutes after the last chase.

As far as the countering the 4% thing, there's actually more being countered. I remember playing a game against a flashlight squad where they made it VERY difficult to hook. Had all 4 ppl slugged eventually... If I walked away from my console, the game would've been over. Turns out one of them had flip flop/power struggle and that was enough to restart everything. Am I saying ALL killers who slug are thinking of that. No... no I'm not. It sure does look suspicious though if a survivor crawled under a pallet.

You bring up good points. It’s true that the bleeding out mostly happens throughout match play and counterplay. And let’s be honest, if someone feels strongly enough about their bad intentions they will find a way. And yes, there are game-winning reasons to leave everyone on the floor.

My question to you: How do you feel about basekit Deerstalker? We all know it won’t eliminate the problem. But how much do you think it would help? How many games end in a 4-man bleedout? Do you think it would create a dent?

Despite the fact that a Killer who wants to cause bleed outs will cause bleed outs. Despite the fact that the only thing that can stop it is intervention from Bhvr, the Killer themselves, or the Survivors somehow finding some way around it; Do you believe basekit Deerstalker would reduce bleed out numbers? If yes then by how much? Insignificantly? Moderately? Substantially (lol)?

  • @Viciusaurus said:

Just wnrt against a Blight on Ormond and we were all slugged at five gens and bled out. I know that the immediate answer is that the match will end, eventually, but at what what point is this not intentional griefing or an outright refusal to play the match? Slugging at 5 gens, refusing to pick up, and just letting us bleed out for who knows what reason other than just because they can is just incredibly poor sportsmanship and is a huge deterrant to want to continue playingin the first place. Am I in the wrong for thinking this is something worth reporting, or is it just an effort in futility because ultimately there is nothing that can be done to prevent such bad behavior? I sent a report for unsportsman-like gameplay, but this is just incredibly frustrating to no one to even get to play the match because someone decided to assert digital dominance over casual players.

No it is not, but it does feel like poor sportsmanship. I keep seeing a forced bleed out option as a recommendation for these situations.

That’s fine but it forces the Survivors to take on the responsibility (and burden) of the Killer’s bad sportsmanship. The Killer gets rewarded for playing… mean. Which again, I get it, we’re all adults here. Of course the Killer will play mean, it’s a game about killing etc…. But… At the end of the day it does feel like bad sportsmanship.

I’m torn because forced bleedouts seem like such a metal thing to do in a Horror game.. Until you really think about what is happening. You’re making four people wait four minutes just because they didn’t play as “good as they should”. While I do think slugging during the trials is a tactic, it’s the intentional bleed outs that feel like bad sportsmanship.

A solution that pins the responsibility of good sportsmanship on the Killer would be something like base-kit Deerstalker. That way after everyone is already on the floor there’s not many reasons not to hook since you know where everyone is at. This of course doesn’t cover the situations where players intentionally bleed out because they want to deny 4% hook escapes but it’s a start.

Maining Plague has made me intimately familer with Infectious Fright. Most people know that the perk is one of the main slugging perks, since you can get chain downs through screams. It’s not rare to slug the whole team. What is difficult sometimes is finding the last Survivor if they crawled away to hide. It can seem like bad sportsmanship if you can’t find the last Survivor which is why I think base kit Deerstalker would help.

Do I think bad sportsmanship can be completely eliminated? No. Is there a difficult line of power to maintain on Killer side? Yes. Can we come up with novel solutions that work for mostly everyone? Yes, yes I believe that we absolutely can. As long as we all work on the problems together I don’t think there’s anything this community can't do.

  • It’s possible that the game might be too scary for some players. I know that horror images have a strikingly strong reaction in some individuals. Almost like a sensitivity that never becomes desensitized.

    Hi,

I would like to propose an optimization on the bloodweb. The player base is composed of dedicated players who have hundred or thousands of hours each, you have said so yourself multiple times. These optimization aim to help these players in having a more enjoyable experience.

Every time you want to level up your bloodweb you have to stop playing the game and click a button until you've exhausted all your bloodpoints. You can't pile it up because there is a 2 million bloodpoint cap. You are forced to spend your time clicking the auto bloodweb button. Just 2 million bloodpoints can take up to 20min to fully use up. I genuinely believe I have 1/5th to 1/8th of my playtime spent on the bloodweb screen.

As such, here are my proposals:

    • Remove the bloodpoint limit and stop forcing us to use the bloodweb. Sometimes I just want to play the game but I have to spend 20min using them up because I would be wasting my time if I were to play at max bloodpoints. Gamers do not like to waste their time.
    • Add a spent all bloodpoint button or auto-buy until next prestige button. This would automate the entire process and remove the chances we develop carpal tunnel.
    • Optimize the animation. It is unnecessarily long and for some reason… UNSKIPPABLE. Please if you don't want to change it then at least let us skip it with a simple click.

I believe these simple changes can greatly enhance player experience and QOL for the entire player base.

    Have a good day :)

I agree with you. Bloodweb improvement is my #1 most requested feature. I like to buy the most expensive stuff which kind of sucks because the auto buy prioritizes the cheapest stuff.

Shouldn't killers get punished for leaving one of the players in an uninteractive state for literally over a minute? Idk about you but IMO they should get punished… Staying on the ground for over 60 seconds and basically being forced to bring a perk for this situation is truly misery in itself and should not happen. The solution is called pick someone up before 60 seconds…they literally get a whole minute? If they don't want to that person gets to pick himself up and continue playing the game….

Shouldn't killers get punished for leaving one of the players in an uninteractive state for literally over a minute?

The problem is that the “uninteractive” state where all you can do is recover or crawl is the punishment for getting hit twice. It’s like a penalty box.

It's asking for Devs to guarantee at least two Survivors always win.

This isn't true. A 50/50 kill rate would likely increase the number of 0ks over the current setup and increase survivor win rate, but there is no reason to presume that 2ks would somehow become common.

The average results over many matches (mean) is very different than what the average result of a match is (mode). Given the way the game is designed 2ks are, and likely always will be, the least common of the five possible game results.

And if Killer gets any less than a 3k, it's considered a loss for Killer by MMR, not a win.

That's not true. If you're going strictly off of MMR, in a 2k you'd need to know which two survivors escaped and which two died. Depending their MMRs, you killer could either gain, lose, or stay even in the MMR.

Why do you all believe that Killers do not ever deserve to win while alsobelieving that at least two Survivors should always and forever be handed wins without any effort or skill on their part at all?

I'm fine with the current kill rate goal, I'd probably bump it down a few percent, but nothing major. However, this setup just isn't true. We can easily turn it around and ask (if we presume that we are using MMR as our defining win condition): why is it okay for survivors to lose 60% of the time while the killer should expect not only a win rate that exceeds 50%, but a win rate that exceeds both their loss rate and draw rate combined?

why is it okay for survivors to lose 60% of the time while the killer should expect not only a win rate that exceeds 50%, but a win rate that exceeds both their loss rate and draw rate combined?

It’s because I don’t see the game as a competitive faceoff between the two sides. I see it as a “climb the mountain” kind of game for Survivors. How high can they get before making too many mistakes, can they work together?

In this situation I see the Killer as just the minotaur in the maze. A bouncer/skill check. The better the Killer the more strict they are on Survivor’s mistakes. Easier Killers allow more Survivor mistakes. So the Killer’s mmr is pretty much the match difficulty.

Maybe at one point it was reversed and the Survivors were the security guard testing the Killer’s performance where every game was the Killer’s to lose. I’m glad it is reversed. I think it's better for a horror atmosphere that every game belongs to the Survivors and the Killer is the golem that tests their teamwork.

First, thank you both for what you do. Day in and day out in the trenches, on top of other duties we aren’t aware of. Thank you 🙏 I’m sorry people always act so… wild/disrespectful against you all as if you’re not just people too. I know you’re professionals and that it’s part of the job but still, it feels wrong to see you all get dehumanized.

I would like to respectfully voice my protest against the Mori changes. The Mori is one of the coolest things about Dbd. From a horror experience its uses are limitless. I understand this change may have emerged out of gameplay necessity. I just hope it wasn’t too much of a necessity because Moris as they exist would be a sad thing to see go for the sake of gameplay.

Regardless of the outcome thank you all at the company for putting so much blood, sweat, and tears into the game. No matter what happens I’m still grateful, still love the game, and can’t wait to continue this journey with everyone 😊

Yeah! People can get free heals off the hook by touching a sick gen and cleansing (and it's not uncommon for people to be uninfected if you just had a Corrupt Purge spree.) Playing Plague is practically guaranteeing everyone who isn't in chase with you gets an Adrenaline pop at the end of the game - survivors can heal almost whenever they want. And coordinated cleanse teams can destroy you. You can go from having 2 fountains and everyone infected to no fountains and everyone healthy, and all you get out of it is a Corrupt Purge with a vague idea of where someone might be if you saw the last fountain disappear (and weren't spinning around in panic when the fountains start flying, like I usually do.)

And I have the hardest time with survivors who I'm trying to fully infect, and instead of weaving around obstacles, they bullrush me and start spinning around me in circles. Instant L. Can't deal with that camera frippery, have to take the M1 and deal with the distance.

These are things you don't need to be in a SWF to pull off, you just need to know about them. But people seem to struggle counterplaying Plague because it's a bunch of "if the game state is this, do this" rules instead of a simple mandate like "never cleanse."

This, this is nice. This Plague talk. It’s very refreshing ;)

Playing Plague is practically guaranteeing everyone who isn't in chase with you gets an Adrenaline pop at the end of the game - survivors can heal almost whenever they want.

Yes big time. End game is more difficult for her definitely.

Mhm yup. The teams that commit to staying cleansed usually do pretty well.

And I have the hardest time with survivors who I'm trying to fully infect, and instead of weaving around obstacles, they bullrush me and start spinning around me in circles. Instant L. Can't deal with that camera frippery, have to take the M1 and deal with the distance.

🤭 I know exactly what you’re talking about.

You’re right. The counter play is like one step too much. Which is too bad because I love playing against Survivors that know how to play against her.

Have you ever noticed or experienced “pandemic” waves? Where you cause a huge mass infection, you get a lot of corrupt, the infection dies off, and you finally run out of corrupt ready to start the “wave” over? Some games I can get about two waves, sometimes three. It’s so thrilling and fast paced. I can’t get enough lol.

One of my favorite things about playing Plague is this trance you get into where you become highly efficient at corrupt fountain pathing. It feels like I’m performing forbidden sacred geometry over the map like a spell or something lol. I was so fascinated with this feeling/concept that I created a build around it. Batteries included is the anchor perk that the build is made around. The build is Batteries Included, Fire Up, Thanatophobia, and Noed.

It’s meant to make her more…idk…demonic as the ritual, I’m sorry trial, goes on. She’s usually weak at end game but this build kind of turns that on its head. I call this build The Apocalypse 💀

You know, I could actually live with that? I mean, I'd rage about all my muscle memory going down the drain, but I have a gazillion gorgeous outfits on Plague I want to show the world because she is so pretty, lady doesn't just get a dozen flashy robes and crowns but gets to be a wholeass mermaid if she feels like it… but I've leaned away from playing her recently because people just don't want to verse her. I don't like being greeted with DCs. :(

Maybe I will play her more after the inevitable nerfs. But I love her addon spread and think her power's in a healthy (hah) spot, so the whole thing makes me sad. The biggest consistent issue I see with her is people just… being awful at dynamic decisionmaking. Or not knowing how to play against Plague, period. So often I see people cleansing and then running to unhook a sick person. Or healing up while sick. So of course those teams get 4ked… it only takes one survivor to give Plague a bunch of fountains, and I don't know how you fix that without gutting her. The only change I'd push for is giving survivors better information so that they can make better decisions (have black incense show itself, maybe make infected gens a little more obvious because the effect can be easy to miss.) Her design is fine, I think she really just isn't played often enough for people to know how to play against her complex power.

1 Million percent yes! I believe it is a knowledge issue. But also, an issue with impatience. The teams that do best against me are the teams that play very meticulous, careful and patient. I believe the patience part is where most people are going wrong against her. At least that’s my experience playing against Survivors.

What Survivors who are inexperienced against her go wrong is that they don’t know how OP cleansing is. You can force her to waste time by making her hit you without infection. Get infected then go heal a free health state.

  • Chucky no contest. No disrespect to Victor, he’s awful too. Chucky is just on another level.

  • That was a treat.

Give me cookie got you cookie 🍪

  • Honestly Bhvr could turn Plague into an M1 Killer with no power and I’d still play as her. She’s just way way too cool to not use.
