  • It's in the tips at the loading screen, you also get it while teleporting across the map

That's why hit and run is so good on him, and it's not a bad idea to sit in lockers when you can afford to

If I have already won a game I usually try to finish the last people off at night for the memes

  • This is way too broad to answer in one post. It really depends on your perks, the killer, and how important the gens near the hook are.

I can give you my perspective as someone who mainly plays a lot of dredge; but has also played every killer extensively at some point.

Typically I want to return to hook to interrupt the heal because I am running sloppy butcher, but ideally I am not camping the hook at all. So I usually teleport off immediately after hooking someone to go chase someone off a gen across the map somewhere (using information perks, discordance usually, to figure out where to go) and possibly score a hit.

From there I will return to hook a few seconds once the unhook happens, ideally coming in to interrupt a 70-80% heal and then hitting the healing survivor to spread damage and build more nightfall.

I would play opportunistically from here, going after the easiest target rather than going out of my way to tunnel. It might even be worth teleporting back to the generator across the map instead of going after either

Of course if it all falls apart, then I will try to tunnel someone to death but it doesn't play to dredges strengths at all and is a desperation move

Yep. Hag is a decent killer but my opinion is that she’s starting to falloff in quality since then. CoH absolutely stomped her when it was first released too.

She is probably the only killer in the game I seriously consider shattered hope on. Flashlights and CoH are her two biggest weaknesses so I have franklins equipped 24/7 since she hates medkits too. With shattered hope it is actually worth it to leave your web and go smash a totem since it will be gone the rest of the game.

People endlessly retreating from the web to go heal at a boon was her biggest counter. I actually stopped playing her when CoH came out, only recently have been getting back into some Hag.

CoH is actually more popular than ever since the self care nerf so the fact she can use shattered hope unironically is good for her too.

I think she is fine and still very strong, but it's still not exactly fun to be completely restricted to one small section of the map like she usually is

  • Not worth the perk slot imo. I've watched it with fixated enough to know it's super powerful, but not worth 2x slots all the time to know if it's the reason you lost a chase or not. It's academic at that point imo.

  • @dspaceman20 said:

It needs another effect because it just terrible

I don't get the time limit. It should just be permanent, and maybe give another bonus that will help with escaping a chase entirely

No scratch marks is nice but probably not enough to actually get a killer to lose you in the endgame. You need some sort of capability to lose a chase and actually escape the trial rather than automatically dying because the killer saw you

  • I been on the lightweight train. Scratch marks lasting half as long + you randomly don't have them sometimes is honestly super clutch.

The only problem is that it's very hard to notice if it's working or not. Other than that, it might be the best survivor perk of the patch?

  • The weak ones because they are bad. But for strong ones?

I'd say Twins and Hag are not played because they are extremely reliant on snowballing and a misstep or two can end with you basically helpless and getting bullied until the endgame. A missed victor pounce is all it takes to undo 2-3 slugs as Twins, which might have taken you multiple generators to attain

idk just the feel to me rubs me wrong it feels more tiring

I think the difference will only be felt after they release a few new characters. Getting P3 perks for my new characters right off the bat will be a HUGE reduction to the grind.

But getting to the point where enough characters are P3 that you skip the perk grind is probably worse than before.

Once MM incentives are back I think it will be a lot better

Guess we'll see how it plays out. Again, I don't really care about them changing MoM, I've never used it, and it's a pretty obscure perk I've only seen streamers "try out". And they usually make their entire match about getting use out of it.

I think my greater point was, of all the perks, and all the issues, feedback, they decide to make a change no one asked for, that probably won't really have an impact on most players. It's just such an obscure perk and that's what they choose to focus on for a hotfix. It's strange.

They nerfed clown and buffed blight in the same patch a few months ago, not sure why this would surprise you. The reason could be as simple as BHVR wanting to boost Ash sales rather than anything related to balance

  • Apparently it still lets you mori people even after it has been cleansed sometimes

Dude, they made it so when MoM activates, the Killer sees the survivors aura unless that survivor is within 16m (or something). You also LOSE the MoM Endurance if you do *any conspicuous action*. Touch a gen. Touch a totem. Heal.

Tell me how that's a buff, and tell me how it's useful in anyway? Like, I have never personally used the perk. So it's not a problem for me. I'm just flabbergasted that they zeroed in on this rare, already kinda crappy and unused perk and crappified to oblivion. There's a hundred other productive things they could have done. Like revert DS to a 5 second stun.

Uhh so what? By the time you get it you have already taken a second protection hit. So the killer is going to be within that 16m, and is either going to hit you again or you just bodyblock them until they do.

I'm thinking more a situation where your teammate is getting tunneled into the floor and now you can go bodyblock 3 (!!) hits for them if you had a protection hit earlier in the game

  • @CluelessWanderer said:

BHVR wanted to "Shake up the Meta" by rendering all decent survivor perks essentially useless. This was to encourage us to use other perks- that they don't bother to make that great.

MoM is a niche, rarely used perk that only activated under very specific conditions and now they've nerfed the only good, possible use it could have.

Like seriously. It activates and then the Killer knows exactly where the survivor is unless you're right up their arse, and knows that survivor can't do anything to progress the game. It's inconcievable to me how a bunch of grown adults can find the most bizarre ways possible to make a perk so entirely stupid, so unusable that it's kind of more detrimental than it is helpful- AND they get paid for it.

Uhhh, pretty sure it's a buff. You go take a protection hit at some point during the game, go heal. Then you go take another protection hit, and then you have endurance and the killer won't know about it until they hit you again? Seems good to me, especially if after the second hit you then jam your character model in their way and force them to hit you

Not disturbing crows is a decent effect, granted but it very rarely comes into play and you'd never know if it did

Not screaming is... Okay? Helps counter a handful of killer perks and one specific killer's tracking power. Still not very significant on it's own

And silent chest opening/totem interactions, sure. Why penalise you for using it then?

At least Distortion tells you what addons/perks the killer has (or doesn't have). Even if Distortion doesn't trigger it gives you security in knowing the killer has no aura perks which is far more useful than all 3 of Calm Spirits effects combined imho.

As someone who routinely finds survivors well beyond LOS because of crows, I can tell you calm spirit isn't that bad. Not screaming is also super clutch depending on the killer. It saves you from the scariest killers in the game, arguably, since they are more likely to have infectious fright.

    @Mewishis said:

Calm Spirit sure the speed reduction to cleansing and booning isn't wonderful I just didn't add boons to my perk loadout and when I did have to cleanse a totem it really wasn't that awful unless they use thrill of the hunt or thana.

(Thrill of the hunt is barely used and thana is getting destroyed next update.)

So it really isn't that awful could it use maybe a drop of the numbers by 10 sure why not, but honestly this perk is basically the pain resonance of survivors perks as just the canceling screaming part cancels out so much

Killer powers: Pinhead's box when he picks it up screams, Hag trap screams, Doctor screams, Clown bottle screams, Stepping on a bear trap screams, and Freddy snare screams.

Perks/Add-ons: Nurse's 'Anxious Gasp' addon, Oni's 'Family Crest' addon, Plague's 'Incensed Ointment' addon, Infectious Fright, Dragon's Grip Scream, Eruption scream, Iron Maiden scream, Deathbound scream, Scourge Hook: Pain resonance, and Spies from the Shadows (the crow part of calm spirit.)

So adding onto the list of silent actions just makes it that much better, its a good perk is it niche yes, but people seriously undervalue it just because of the reduction, but it counters so many perks that people dislike.

Now onto iron will as I was running it, yes the being about to hear you slightly is sad and exhaustion deactivation is a tad bit meh, but honestly, it's still worth running in builds that don't use exhaustion perks as the 75% is still quite a lot and crouching basically helps to cancel it out, it still works against the spirit and it still helps you evade the killer it just isn't as all-powerful as it used to be. The only thing you really need to be worried about is if the killer is using perks that give exhaustion like septic touch, that one oni perk, and mind breaker, but nobody really uses these perks anyways lol.

So why are people still upset about it? Sure in iron wills case it just isn't just a free escape tool, but it still works its not the end of the world. I have been using these perks in a build and I suggest people to give it a try its really actually fun.

Distortion, Iron Will, Calm Spirit, Prove Thyself.

Iron will nerf was huge. Since spine chill got gutted, most survivors are relying on sprint burst which makes IW useless. No exhaustion perk + no spine chill sets you up for some completely uncounterable instadowns from things like Tinkerer Bubba

  • @NinthCrystal said:

In its current state, sole survivor is completely useless. TBF I feel like left behind and sole survivor could be combined into 1 perk. So get additional speed increase for doing gens for each player killed, and at the end see the hatch if you're the last one left.

These days I usually hold off on purchasing new killers. Simply put, I don't want to sweat my ass off when I'm simply practicing, which is why I can't wait for bots to finally be implemented.

Because of this I usually wait until their perks are available for purchase in the store, however recently I purchased both Sadako and The Artist. I'm more tempted to play Sadako, but I've seen with my own eyes and continue to hear from others just how incredibly weak of a killer she is. Personally I hate how ridiculously weak her condemned ability is. It's one thing to be weak in chase, but knowing that survives can literally shut down an ability of yours (teleport) while not facing serious repercussions so long as they're paying attention to their status bar seems crazy.

That being said, have any of you found a good rhythm or perks that gel with her?

The best tip is to level her to 40 and then buy dredge instead. Dredge is sadako with antiloop instead of condemn and it's sooooooo much better it's not even funny

  • I honestly liked it more before the patch. I think the killer should be at an inherent disadvantage. It's 4v1, they should have to play well to "earn" the right to be the power role.

I don't think the game should be balanced so that anyone can just pick up any killer and perform well; it's a disservice to survivors who have invested time learning to play. They had the handful of killers the newb killers could use (Nurse, Blight, etc) that carry them and then the other killer characters for the hardcore players.

Now it's like anyone can jump on wraith and get a 2-3k+ against survivors who have played for thousands of hours because survivors have been nerfed into the floor for the sake of the game "being scary" idk. It's never really been scary, and hiding while your teammates die and you are helpless gets old after just a few matches

What exactly am I failing to understand?

How to get better at holding M1 on a generator while another player that has gone down in 10 seconds is being camped?

Do you not understand how stupid that sounds?

Unless you are in a SWF, you are not part of a team. You are in a game with other players who may or may not help you. That is a key feature of DBD and has been a design decision since day 1. Stop thinking you are obligated to rescue a "teammate" in a game that has no metric of success for altruism in terms of matchmaking

    Screenshot 2022-07-27 155419.png

Two, you can extrapolate your argument to literally any other multiplayer video game. A team can easily get you into situations you as an individual cannot extract yourself from, no matter what the method of gameplay is (holding M1, scoring a kill, etc)

Going down in 10 seconds is about the only way camping is going to work for a 3-4k barring some extreme misplays. Countering it is as easy as looping the killer long enough your team can attain gen pressure, which is probably less than 40 seconds if you are the first one being chased.

So tough luck you got a bad teammate, but welcome to online video games

  • I will agree to stop camping and tunneling when survivors agree to stop doing gens

  • @Tizzle said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3094731#Comment_3094731

Is this what you tell the other three Survivors?

Just play better at holding M1, right?

Completely missed the entire point of the post, not really surprised.

I guess you have never lost a game because of poor performance by your team, before? It's not exactly unique to DBD. The effectiveness of camping is directly correlated to survivor performance.

If survivors suck and go down in 10 seconds, then yes, camping is a very effective strategy. If they can loop well? The killer will be forced to leave the hook or lose the game because of gen pressure. Not a hard concept to understand.

  • @CluelessWanderer said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3094703#Comment_3094703

Oh, come on. It's easy as a stealth Killer, or a Killer using Insidious to basement camp Solo survivors. It's stupid. Everyone in that match including the Killer came away with absolute crap Blood points. It was a waste of time.

And stealth killers are extra weak in chase? In addition to being able to be easily dove on with BT.

If a survivor is going down so quickly to an M1 killer that they can just facecamp the hook and win, the survivor just needs to play better. That's all there is to it. If the chases are that much of a pushover the killer would win no matter what they did

  • @tester said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3094683#Comment_3094683

I already explained what the issue is in original post at the top:

"Now the question is: will BHVR give solos basic communication tools and make it into more fair and enjoyable game or will it be always that easy to camp a win in this hockey game?"

If you don't see an issue with being able to easily camp a 4k, I don't know what to tell you.

You are only able to easily camp a 4k if the survivors allow it. You can easily beat survivors with any strategy if they are playing poorly.

Survivors don't spawn on the hook, the killer has to earn the down.

Especially with the meta being shaken to the point where no perk is really required anymore; kindred has always been an option for solo Q players

  • @tester said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3094666#Comment_3094666

I'll explain you hockey meme: kills = skill.

Camping for ez kills therefore means skill... right? Illustration of very "skilled" play.

Basic communication would prevent 2 people running to basement at the same time and both getting exposed. Just a basic status effect "I'm going for unhook", "I'm doing gen", "killer is camping" would prevent a lot of situations like this.

They went down next to basement and got punished for it. What's the issue here?

Your first hook being a basement hook is pure RNG without perks. And the survivors allowed it, especially since you are an M1 killer and all the pallets would have been readily available

  • @SkeletalElite said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3080620#Comment_3080620

On this particular map with this build if you get a basement hook off your first down (and it happens before corrupt expires) the survivors basically just lose. They literally cannot do all the gens in the time it takes that dude to die on hook, and you'll be able to camp a second person to death as well, also likely before they can finish the last gen given the person on the first hook died so much faster.

If they go for the save you will just have 2 people in the basement instead because Bubba does not care for your endurance, he will chainsaw right through it.

Yeah I am not sure why someone would call it meme. 120 seconds goes down to 96 w/ monstrous. So it's saving you 24 seconds per hook which comes equivilant to NWO after only 2 hooks. And 96 seconds put it's about the new gen speeds; especially w/ deadlock to interrupt them.

Corrupt is still amazing at keeping survivors off gens for the first ~40 seconds until you get your first down which is all it needs to do. People will have found a gen by then anyways. I don't think it really impacted the main strength of the perk at all, which is holding the gens together until you can get a down as a low mobility killer and get your snowball rolling.

Even if you can't get the basement you can still proxy camp one of the scourge hooks pretty much the exact same way

  • I would say never sign up for solo Q and expect a serious game. Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment

  • @steezo_de said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3080337#Comment_3080337

Something needs to be seriously broken for them to adjust anything after a patch. Dying more often doesn't mean much the first couple weeks because people need to adjust to how the game goes. Now, if people left in droves, that might be important enough, but I doubt people will.

Killer Q times suggest people have left in droves. From ~2 seconds to 3-5+ minutes during primetime. Or if its the same playerbase they all went to killer because of how easy it is now. The fact you had streamers going on 50+ winstreaks BEFORE the huge killer buffs came through should tell you something.

BHVR balanced around baby players and it made the game pretty bad for veterans. Making the killer super OP "because it's like the movies" does not make for a good video game

So you can either go get stomped in solo Q, SWF, or wait 5 minutes for a 5 minute match as killer. Pretty awful patch considering I generally found survivor boring M1 simulator (even worse now)

Why did they have to gut every single meta perk? They should have just gone through with the buffs and some minor changes

  • @tester said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3080051#Comment_3080051

Except I specifically said that increasing time not being in chase is not an option.

Plenty of perks encourage you to leave the hook. Gift of pain is a pretty massive debuff now if you leave the survivor alone to be healed. Monstrous shrine deletes people pretty quickly although it's probably optimal to proxy camp with it.

Darkness revealed, thrilling tremors, discordance, tinkerer, etc etc.

Call of brine + brutal is for a 3 gen playstyle which is conductive towards camping so maybe reconsider your entire build?

  • @Roaroftime said:

that’s a v good build I might try it I’m often last in the round I’ve tried gen rush builds but ppl die on hook or dc before I rlly get chance to see if they work so I might give that one a go thnx (Altho knowing my rounds the doors will spawn next to each other lmao)

Nah ive played solo Q too long to run team builds. Been left hanging one too many times! I run team builds for SWF or if I am specifically BP farming and don't care if I live or die. If I am playing to survive, it's selfish builds all day because the suicides, potato's, and DCs will ruin your experience otherwise.

Yeah but other killers have been buffed to OP levels so it kinda balances out. When the devs balanced the game so that a drooling monkey with 10 hours played can get at least a 2k with doggo tier killers it has consequences for the rest of the playerbase

  • I actually like it, but then again im mostly playing Dredge and survivor. The day/night cycle is pretty cool on that map, and it also has ridiculous amounts of mist if you offer purple reagent (which I do often).

It's horrid on M1 killers though, but if you play M1 killers you should know what to expect by now

  • @bigdaddyjeff said:

Guess i gotta change my playstyle to waiting until all the 3 survivors get killed just to get the exit gate opening speed. Very useful perk indeed!

Nobody says you have to wait right at the start of the game. You can simply alter your playstyle once it's clear your team isn't going to win. If you have 4k hours you should be able to tell what games are winnable or not. Load in, hear the Nurse screech, someone is down in 10 seconds, etc etc. Yeah, that's when the best perk in the game is going to be Sole Survivor or Left Behind because you are never going to win. Every other perk is basically irrelevant.

    @bigdaddyjeff said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3076826#Comment_3076826

I agree with you but since the new update it's just easier to tunnel cause there's no fear or penalty. Gens just take longer mixing with slowdown perks and all you need to do is just camp, tunnel, pick the tunneled survivor cause there's no more ds and boom one survivor out 4 gens left.

Well against the majority of killers that's the survivors fault. Most maps provide plenty of resources to loop the killer for a minute or two, which is all it takes to win really. I will agree that a few select killers need to be nerfed badly but that doesn't reflect on your average M1 killer who desperate needed these buffs

  • @bigdaddyjeff said:

Sorry man can't write a whole academic essay about how this game got worse

Ok well I hate to tell you BUT

"The new meta is camping and tunneling and getting trash teammates every game. "

That's how it's been since release. Actually even worse since 1st hook mori's were a thing.

Solo Q has always been trash, although now you honestly have very solid options in both Sole Survivor and Left Behind. 1 perk as insurance against being given an unwinnable match was always the price for solo Q to be tolerable. Sole survivor was the best solo survivor buff of the patch imo. Sometimes your team just gets slaughtered and you can't do anything about it, but you can't complain if you don't bring the tools to stay alive in that situation.

  • Paragraphs are nice

  • Corrupt, Tinkerer

Corrupt because it's still the best early game slowdown perk.

Tinkerer because it still lets you save critical gens and the spine chill nerf means it's almost free downs on killers like Bubba

  • @foxsansbox said:

BHVR looking at the most egregious example - the camping Bubba, and going:

No, I think gens should take longer while he does his thing.

I think that's hysterical. How bad were those internal stats.

The game is literally balanced around entry level players. That's all there is to it. They pay the same as the veterans, if anything new players have more DLC to still purchase

  • @Ghostofsnow said:

It's not, you aren't holding a killers attention or doing the objective to actually progress the game. it's just a waste of time and not helpful at all playing like that unless you're planning on ditching teammates anyway or have a quest for it

That's a hot take. Why do you think he is suggesting to stealth when the killer is not nearby? It's very valuable to stealth if you think the killer is nearby, every second it takes to find you is one second less you need to loop and use pallets. So even if you delay a chase by ~20 seconds that's 60 seconds cumulatively on gens if your team is spread out across 4 of them. Having the killer not find you entirely and then need to leave to go to another gen (and again begin a new search) is even more time wasted. Stealth is the most powerful play in DBD, assuming your teammates are doing gens and you are only doing it when the killer is looking for you.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3076487#Comment_3076487

    Genuine question

I thought the point of the change was to make it so that we don't need to equip perks anymore?

Maybe some survivors, who are good at looping, don't need the perks to survive.

Other survivors, of less skill, might still need them. Perks have always been a substitute for skill in DBD and it's no different now

  • I think that's the point, to reduce the overall grind to get characters online but make hoarding items less feasible. It was a bit silly that I was stacking "ultra rares" into the hundreds under the old system

  • @hailxsatanxeveryxday said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3072196#Comment_3072196

No, you won't hit them straight out of a TV, but you can easily get them a couple seconds after that.

Sadako is awesome at tunneling, on the contrary, because a lot of survivors won't hear the lullaby if they're working on a gen and you're approaching from a distance with your terror radius off, giving you a free hit, and you can go kick a couple gens across the map while the survivors think it's safe to unhook

In my experience, using Dredge's teleport in chase only works against potatoes. Good survivors will see your husk and change directions, and it's too slow to do anything about it unless you're in nightfall. Sadako's teleport is fast for the entire game, not just a handful of thirty second intervals.

The key to chasing with Sadako is to use guerrilla M1 tactics, like I said. You don't need chase perks as long as you're pressuring gens correctly and abandoning hopeless chases. Once a few pallets are gone, she becomes easy.

Sadako has gen regression going for her. She can dominate a three-gen better than any other killer, hands-down. Get one kill and three gens close together with the right build, and it's over.

Any killer can be viable against almost any team. Absolute top-tier survivors who play with surgical precision, pound gens out in less than five minutes, and make no mistakes in chase can decimate everyone but an equally tryhard Nurse or Blight, but those aren't as common as some people seem to think. Back when there was a rank system, there were plenty of people playing Myers, Clown, and Legion at Rank 1. They weren't common, but they existed. Some people just prefer easier killers.

Dredge is a very different killer than Sadako, and, IMO, in the same tier. Dredge is really not much stronger. He has some strengths that Sadako has, but the reverse is also true.

Sure it's not as potent during daytime but with good timing or Boat Key it's fine to use for more than mobility. Nightfall it's super strong and infinitely stronger than anything sadako has.

Why do you say she is good at tunneling because she can sneak up to survivors on gens? That is not tunneling. Tunneling is proxy camping the hook and then immediately going after someone the second they get off it, which she is bad at.

I also want to say that just his remnant is better than Sadako's entire kit. She's that bad. The absolutely massive CD on the TVs means hit-and-run doesn't work unless you have Iri video tape. And you need bloody fingernails to make the TVs do literally anything chase-wise. So that leaves no room for passive phasing addons which means she has nothing at all for a chase other than being a lousy M1 killer who gets looped to oblivion.

It actually kinda blows my mind people would ever put them on the same level. One is anti-loop, the other is not. That alone puts them on entirely different tiers.

I been loving these so far. Yes I am a terrible person but new MS is a beast on Hag. 20% bonus progress while proxy camping with 10 traps is so brutal.

And sole survivor I really like since it gives you a pretty good shot at getting out through the exit gate once your team is dead. You can also run a medkit at the same time and unlike a key nobody knows you will let them die hideously to save your own skin.

Well, I saw the Ring movies years ago (the American versions; haven't seen the Japanese ones), and they're good, but I wouldn't say I'm a huge fan of the license or anything.

I think that a lot of the people even in this thread have some incorrect ideas about her. She's not a hit-and-run killer like most people seem to think; play her that way, and you're going lose.

    Take this post, for example:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3068881#Comment_3068881

No, that's actually correct, sort of.

The very first thing you should do with Sadako is get a down, yes. Then teleport to a few gens, kick one with a reasonable amount of progression with Pop and Brine (I may replace Pop after its nerf, but maybe not; it'll still give a decent amount of regression on a 90% gen), maybe hit whoever's next to it if they hand it to you gift-wrapped, and then teleport over to the hook just as the other survivor is getting unhooked and down them again. Bait the DH, wait out the BT, eat the DS, and rehook them. Survivor near the gen you kicked has probably just activated Dragon's Grip; go back and take care of them. That survivor will be too scared to tap the gen immediately next time, giving Brine some time to work.

Playing mean is the only way to win with Sadako. (If tunneling is much harder with new OTR, it might be worth replacing Nurse's with Make Your Choice.) Genrush squads will often slow themselves down to go for hook saves or bodyblock if they know that you're tunneling, giving you free hits and extra slowdown.

Sadako isn't any worse at getting downs than other M1 killers, if you know how to play them. Know your mindgames. Break pallets; don't play around them. That just wastes time, and once you've been fed every pallet on the map, which will happen over the course of a few chases, there won't be chases anymore. (Obviously, still know when to abandon chases to protect your three-gen, which you should have picked at the beginning of the game. If you get a three-gen with 2-3 survivors left, that's game. However, her teleport speed means that you can effectively treat most endgame setups as a three-gen, even if they're not actually close together.) The killer chase buffs will help here, but I generally don't even have to run anti-chase perks since, as he pointed out, survivors don't respect Sadako's presence and will hand you your first hit for free, especially if you approach while cloaked.

You do need to run her best addons, and her only good ones are the yellow and brown that decrease her teleport cooldown. That makes the game. Her teleport is much better than Freddy's or Dredge's because you can check every gen in the map within a couple of seconds due to no overall cooldown, and with the individual TV cooldown lessened and usually multiple TVs in an area, you can pretty easily move across the map quick;y or immediately with no penalty.

Condemned does indeed suck, and you should not be playing for it. Ignore that unless survivors hand you a kill, which will happen once every twenty or thirty games, sometimes in the first couple minutes of the match because Dwight thought it would be helpful to remove every video tape on the entire map at once. However, survivors will mostly ignore TVs, and the rare ones who don't have an extra objective, and it actually won't slow you down much since you can just use the next-closest TV instead. With the brown and yellow addons, the TVs will be back up much quicker than they can deal with effectively. As survivor, I only mess around with TVs if I'm trying to open an exit gate.

tl;dr: Tunneling and gen regression are where Sadako excels. If you try to hit-and-run people or make the mistake of playing nice, you are going to lose.

I'm not saying she's perfect. She does need some buffs. Her stealth is semi-ineffective, and condemned doesn't become a threat unless you're absolutely not paying attention; even Pig's RBTs are significantly more menacing. But if they fix those things, she might become a higher mid-tier killer considering the recent killer buffs.

Yeah but why would you wanna tunnel with Sadako? She is awful at it unless you have 3x chase perks in which case it's the perks doing the work not Sadako anyways. Even the Trapper has a better chase because at least his power can do ~something~ for you. No competent survivor is getting hit from a TV without a massive outplay, even with bloody fingernails. There is way too much notification it's coming and the animation takes too long.

I also don't think it's better than Dredges teleport. Dredge teleport is super deadly mid-chase, especially with addons or in nightfall. It turns all sorts of what would normally be god-loops into basically free hits if you time it correctly. The survivor gets almost no time to react if you teleport to an unlocked locker during nightfall.

She has nothing at all going for her. If you stomp a team with Sadako, you could have stomped them with any killer. I play her for the memes only when I feel like punishing myself.

I can't blame you for thinking that way, she does seem very basic on the surface but when you actually put in the time to learn her, its a whole different story.

And yes, it does take ages to accomplish. My games as Sadako tend to last around 15-20 minutes on average. All you do is chase people off gens and focus down one Survivor.

Survivors tend to not grab tapes because most people simply don't know how to play Sadako, they don't play with Condemned in mind. With this playstyle you almost force them to grab tapes.

When you dedicate your gameplay to something it becomes much more possible, in fact I get at least 1 Condemned kill almost every game I play as her. She does require a lot of time to learn and I understand why most people don't want to spend that time on something that wont get them guaranteed results like Nurse or Blight.

I don't know what baby survivors you are getting that will allow you to "chase them off gens" for 20 minutes solid. Most good survivors are going to barely respect your presence as Sadako when you are nearby their gen, and will start working on it the second you go away. The only way to stop gens is by downing people, which Sadako is terrible at.

Condemned is trivial to remove, and without multiple stacks of STBFL (a horrible choice on a killer who can't preserve the stacks) they can just put the tape into the TV right in your face even if they are incompetent enough to actually reach full condemned in the first place.

And that's not even getting into how the survivors can just disable your teleportation power, or how she needs to run her absolute best addons to make her power even a mild threat in chase.

Dredge does everything she does but 5x better, that's all there is to it. There is no secret way of playing her that your average DBD player just hasn't "learned yet"

  • Solo Q is trash because people don't do gens and you get teammates who can't even find and throw a single pallet before going down. The gen speeds could be set to any amount and it would still be terrible

welp old billy was even more unengaging with bamboozle and people still would run it. i understand because i mained billy on console without bamboozle and good survs easily abuse those windows but still man its like 90 percent run it and i hate perks that are always used

BHVR loves god-windows so it's basically always equipped on half my killers. Not having to deal with shack or jungle gyms is sooooo nice too. I think it's a relatively braindead way to deal with them, sure.

But then again on an m1 killer what else are you gonna do at the shack? You are probably not mindgaming any good survivor, and in the time it takes you to figure out if the mindgames will work or not you have lost 2 gens

I would say he is map dependant thanks to some maps are just more survivor sides in general and spawn of lockers. But I don't know if I would call him very dependant or just somewhat dependant.

I don't think so. With bamboozle he can deal with pretty much all loops outside the most unholy coldwind double window setups. With bamboozle and dissolution he is essentially unloopable; especially with haddies calandar + boat key.

That allows you to teleport behind people mid-chase after they have dropped a pallet and force them to vault over it for dissolution; and it won't matter if they locked the lockers or not.

Between that and super high mobility he can deal with every map I have played him on so far. The god-buildings are usually entirely his territory once nightfall hits.
