You don't need to tell other players what to run or why they shouldn't run things they might enjoy.

do you have pent-up anger? camping is legal, tunneling is legal, slugging is legal, gen-rush is legal! have you read something different? play and enjoy!
Despite all those things being fair, survivors will still swear up and down that a killer doing them is toxic and not playing the game right. Its a common thing to see multiple complaints daily on the forums about these things.

I can agree that the game runs a bit smoother but the freezing issue hasn't been entirely resolved.

Let me put it this way. There are 5 players.
1/5 player has the ability to depip everyone by not playing
If a survivor is downed once, the killer has the ability to say "this is your death hook you dont get to play."
The ability of the Killer to control the end outcome despite the survivors ability, as one player, far exceeds the amount of control that the 4 survivors together have over the killer.
I think its best to think of it as two groups instead of individual players. 1 survivors doesnt equal the killer but all 4 survivors is equal to the killer.
In all cases the killer should absolutely overpower just 1 survivor since they arent equal in terms of power. I get not being able to play that specific game sucks but the survivor team should be responsible for making sure they can play the game, not the killer.

What I think is interesting is that the Killers that tunnel are actually horrible at the game. They actually aren't able to play a level that Killers who don't tunnel are. Not tunneling is magnitudes harder than tunneling, as a strategy. So, if you are seeing a Killer who is tunneling, just know that Killer is boosted by a crutch strategy.
Good and bad killers can tunnel, there's been numerous situations where even Otz has to tunnel someone out if he wants to win.

I've played killer enough to know that really good groups are few and far between.
I've also played enough solo queue to know that returning to hooks by killers is incredibly normal when the killer is between rank 20 and 3. Hence the need for Borrowed Time and protection body blocks. Hence this thread...
Again no one is complaining about BT or the effect it has, in general.
The problem is you cant have your cake and eat it too.
The unhooked person with BT should not be getting in the way of the killer targeting the rescuer, because that's who they should go after. You cant protect them and still claim im tunneling you if you get in my way, you're throwing yourself into danger and shouldn't be protected for it.

You really think people select their perks and think "Yeah, Borrowed Time. This is how I'm going to escape this match. Unhooking people and hoping they take protection hits for me. What? Spine Chill or Iron Will instead? NO WAY. Borrowed time baby!"
Look Killer Mains. If you don't proxy camp the hook, you literally make BT a useless perk AND people have more fun. If you can't play the game without proxy camping, that's on you. Go watch a streamer or youtuber who is skilled at killer and learn the tactics they use. I promise you it's not tethering to the hook.
We aren't talking about DS here. We are talking about borrowed time...
See the problem is you're thinking about this in a solo queue setting, sure you can't expect random people to do these "crazy" things. The problem is when you get a competent group that understands perks they can start to abuse interactions.
For every good player you can think of i can also show you instances of them breaking those rules because they were forced to....they gotta adapt to the situation.

No one uses BT offensively, that would be dumb. The killer is the party who choses whether a BT protection hit is going to happen or not. No survivor leaves the hook, and B Lines to the killer across the map because they have Endurance.
You must not play the game if you think people don't use defensive perks offensively, if they didn't this thread wouldnt be a thing. It's also the reason ds was changed, because people used it offensively!
-
@treefiddyoh said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2362097#Comment_2362097
Why can't you? The killer came back to the hook and gave you no choice. Either you let them down the person who just unhooked you, or you take a hit to protect them and try to get away.
At the end of the day, the hooked and unhooker didn't cause the situation. The killer returning to the hook did.
If you progress the game by protecting teammates you cant be upset if the killer progresses the game by killing you. It's the same thing.

The point I'm making is there are a bunch of killer mains complaining about someone taking a protection hit with Borrowed Time, when the point of ithe perk is to combat proxy camping. Which is why you are even having to hit the person with the status affect in the first place...
You can take a protection hit with borrowed, nobody has a problem with that. What you can't do is take a hit with borrowed and still claim you're being tunneled if the killer commits to you after....

So you admit you're not actually skilled enough to win the game without proxy camping. Good to know.
Like its not even a skill thing at that point, its smarter to go back to where 2 people are, 1/2 of the survivor team and most likely healing, and put pressure on the survivor closer to death. Whatever gets the killer kills is what's important.

I'd rather they addressed the many issues with the perk than suggest other perks as plasterfixes for bad design.
The only issue is survivors unwillingness to do anything but gens. If survivors cleansed totems regularly then you'd see noed much less. Also you dont even need perks to take care of noed.

Almost every killer I play with is on console. If it was unplayable nobody on console would be playing it.
People are putting up and dealing with the freezes because, there is an event going on and they want to earn crowns, cakes, blood-points.
-
@Morpheus_7_ said:
there are strong killer players and weak killer players! the game certainly has problems, but it's not unplayable ... if you know how to play!
No, despite the constant freezes you can still win and capitalize over survivor mistakes, its the process of getting there that's annoying. Literally I can be mid chase and because someone starts healing someone across the map my game freezes to the point where the chases isn't worth it anymore and I have to just drop it. You can know how to play and still be screwed over by problems that aren't your fault, but are issues with the game. Its not fun to play like that.

It's unreasonable for 4 people to cleanse 1 totem each, then one person to cleanse a second? Bunk.
That's nothing more than an excuse that says 'I don't want to cleanse totems, so nerf the one perk that stops me from slamming gens'.
That argument is even more bunk because its either cleanse 5 OR just 1 totem during the endgame.
-
@gendoss said:
I know for a fact that killer is not unplayable on console because there are plenty of Twins mains that are playing just fine on console right now. Stop trying to call the game unplayable because every person that is playing on console right now would disagree with you.
While the game isn't technically unplayable the constant freezes for actions being started/completed are very jarring. In a game about timing and seconds mattering losing 40+ seconds every game is almost to the point of not being playable.
It just sucks that this is week 3 of having these problems for console and who knows when it'll be fixed.

No, we weren’t genrushing. I don’t suck as a survivor and survivors r supposed to do gens. If I’m running you for more than a minute than go to someone else. Plus I never gen rush.
So since survivors doing gens is considered "good" and "doing their job", why is it that a killer killing survivors is somehow "bad" and "that they suck" since that's also their job?

I don't have the killer on my roster but she seems like a good killer. She has the Ambush power for the 1v1 aspect of the game and she's got traps for the 4v1 (like keeping survivors off of generators even when you're not around). She can also hide her terror radius. Yet, people still seem to put her on the bottom of their tier lists. I know she got a nerf to her power that disabled her traps if they were applied when all generators were already completed. What am I missing?
Pig isn't that great, there's no reason I would take her over other stealth killers. Sure a good player can make use of her kit and win but since they're a good player they can make anything work. For the average player I don't think she brings that much to the table that other killers can't do better.

Even if you don't want to hear it; tunneling is a strategy. All this bunk about how it 'ruins the game' or is 'unfun' or 'removes someone' needs to stop.
If I play a battle royale; should I not shoot someone because they did not find a gun? Clearly, they won't find it fun to be removed so early, and they can't fight back. Should I think of their fun and stop trying to win? 🤷♂️
And if I see 2 people, and one is wounded, they will take half the time to down as someone healthy. Why should I stop playing optimally just because Survivors demand it?
Do you look at a regressing gent at 80% and go 'The best play would be to finish this gen! But that would be unfun for the Killer! I'll go do a 0% gen!'
No? Because you want to play optimally? Well so does the Killer. You don't get to decide how the Killer plays. ✌️
Its like survivors don't understand their goal in the game at all, its to SURVIVE! The killer has no reason to give anyone a free pass, its up to you or your team to help each other out. The killer and survivors aren't friends with a common goal in mind, they are two opposed forces fighting to see which side wins. Killers aren't there to provide survivors with fun, since fun is subjective, the only job they have to do is to kill you. Taking people out of the game is something that's supposed to happen and if anyone can't accept that then they need to just stop playing.

If killers are having so many difficulty against solo survivors I think they shouldn't be at the rank they're at, and pipping needs to be more difficult.
No killer is having difficulty against solo's, its the swf groups that give anyone a hard time.

It's SWF sided, not survivor sided. Killers have a 70% win rate, which would be even higher if all they faced was solo players.
Kill rates are only so high because most survivors will kill themselves on hook, DC, or not save their teammates on hook, not because killers are actually that deadly.
-
Why do people think we need a new post complaining about camping every day?
-
@Wavy said:
How many god-level SWF's did you actually go against?. SWF is pretty common at red ranks, yes. But most of the SWF's are chill and they are not really good. I dont understand why you take this game and SWF too seriously. If you lose, just give a cheers to your opponent and move on. I think you exaggerate the power of SWF. As i said you dont go against a good SWF too often. You cant win every match, accept it.
As for the keys, i dont think key escapes happen often. And i know even though you complain about the keys you bring it at least once. If you hate keys SO much just bring franklins, its not that hard.
The things you should complain about are Spirit, Nurse, Ruin + Undying, Wraith and OP Myers addons. Killer is the power role in this game if you know how to play it.
Dear killers, if you expect to win every match, just play with bots with the new update.
Franklins doesn't prevent key escapes since survivors that know you have it will just drop the key themselves, not like you need charges to use the key anyway.
I don't mind chill swf but its the groups that demand everybody do gens in 3 mins and that everybody gets out, i hate having to fight against 3 borrowed times and all my grab attempts not working cause of latency and body blocking.
I accept that I cant win every game but survivors don't seem to want to accept that at all on their end, they will rage and complain about anything the killer does to win.
Killer is the power role and yet they rely on survivor mistakes to preform well....

many games are dropping out of their support for last gen.
If you think about it last gen is actually holding back current gen.
BHVR keeps updating the game and providing graphical updates and new content but it's coming at a cost with last gen performance and working on last gen consoles is actually slowing down current gen progress.
I don't know what will happen to last gen players maybe they'll move onto next gen but I don't foresee devs working on last gen any longer
No, last gen support should not be dropped. I got DBD for free from playstation plus about 3 years ago, its worked in a relatively good fashion over the years. Its only recently that the game has had a significant drop in quality, game play wise. DBD itself is a 5 year old game so if it was brought to ps4 in a state where its playable I expect it to remain playable despite updates and additions. Like others have said there are many other games that run better despite requiring more resources that don't freeze, crash, or make my system sound like a jet engine. Buying a new system or a pc to play a 5 year old game doesn't make sense if it used to work fine for last gen consoles.
-
Tunneling is not worse than ever. With the changes in perks and base mechanics its easier to prevent yourself from being focused down now.
BT- it works in every situation so there's no reason not to run it, its a guaranteed safe unhook.
DS- while you cant be immune and do actions in the killers face it gives you the chance to save yourself, stun the killer, and make distance.(they also made obsessions always present so killers have to assume there's at least 1 DS)
We'll make it- 8 sec heals
Resurgence- you're unhooked with 50% heal progress
Lucky break- no blood or scratch marks for 1 min.
There are options for survivors to not be tunneled but most don't put any effort in and expect the killer(who isn't your friend) to take it easy on them for no reason.
Instead of complaining about tunneling try and reflect on what got you into that situation and adjust in the future.

I really like the new change that Wraith receives but I feel at the same time that it is too strong in some sections, basically it does not have a cooldown on its power, plus the advantage of seeing it invisible for about 16 meters I estimate, since before it was He could appreciate seeing it from 24 meters and it gave him the opportunity to escape from it. I feel like he's pretty good where he's at but he needs improvements, or a minor nerf to his power. I leave it up to him.
Wraith is fine the way he is, what makes him seem strong is the fact that people played him to the point of being really good at him before the buff. After the buff those same people are that much better since he's overall better.

Survivor mains want to rush gens, and bully the killer after that.
NOED is in their way to do so
I know and that's what sucks, some survivors would rather be handed everything than actually work for their escape. Yet those same survivors will be the first to tell a killer what they did and didn't earn.
-
@Reinami said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/262819/noed-is-op-but-not-in-the-way-you-might-think
Right, now let's look at gen speeds in relation to chase time.
If a survivor does nothing but hold w, runs in the opposite direction of the killer, doesn't use pallets, doesn't vault windows, doesn't even use perks. It takes 48 seconds for that killer to down the survivor. Now factor in the time it takes to pick them up, find a hook, and hook them, and you probably just spend 70-80 seconds. Then you lose 3 gens.
NOED is the counter to survivors "gen rushing". If survivors refuse to spend time doing that objective, they run the risk of running into NOED. It is no different than killers assuming that every survivor is running DS. DS is such a strong perk (even after it's nerf) that it doesn't even have to be in the game for it to be effective". The same applies to NOED.
The game was designed with the idea that survivors are going to hide, do totems, and loot chests. Obviously given that you can hold w for 48 seconds.
So much hate(not you but in general) for a perk that only does anything in the end game and could not even activate if survivors do more than just gens. Why cant people just be bothered to do totems, and yes its as simple as just doing them.

Flashlight saves are very bad idea,mostly following the killer just to have a chance to save,he could have done gens.
Well at least as killer good system, makes lot easier to win
It seems like you just haven't seen anyone smartly attempt a flashlight save, doesn't mean that they dont happen though.
-
@Piruluk said:
The survivor bonus bloodpoint perk rewards farming others not doing objective, while the killer one rewards for playing well and doing killer's job.
This one of the reason that I dont like playing survivor because even though that the power role,the game not rewards enough doing the objective as survivor.
WGLF does reward survivors for doing the objective though. You only get a stack if the rescue was safe, so no it doesn't reward farming. It gives stacks for flashlight saves and protection hits too so it kinda promotes you helping your teammates...the survivors job...
-
An efficient killer goes after the weak link in the team, if you've been hooked you're that much closer to death. A 3v1 situation is more manageable than a 4v1 situation, so can you really blame them for trying to make the game easier? If there are 2 gens, 1 at 90% and the other at 20%, you're more likely to finish the 90% one because its easier to finish and that's the same thing with killers targeting unhooked survivors.
-
@BBQnDemogorgon said:

I've about done versing this killer with an uncounterable lunge. Every match is a bloodbath because they are way overpowered. There's no counter to him being so fast and using the wallhack and then the lunge being so huge. Even if you have sprint burst it won't matter. His movement speed is too much. It is not fair he can spam his power for an uncounterable lunge with no cooldowns. Revert his buffs. He had decent killrates, the buff was unnecessary.
The devs need to speak about this matter because it's game breaking.
Let one killer that nobody used become slightly more usable and now they're overpowered? Honestly nerfing wraith would defeat the point of him receiving a buff in the first place. The more you try to bring down killers not played frequently the more you only see killers you hate facing. Wraith can't even spam his power with his "uncounterable lunge" he's gotta re cloak and un cloak to keep lunging which takes plenty of time. Maybe you just need to actually learn how to play against him vs trying to do the same thing against every killer.
