Endurance doesn't stack.
While 80 seconds of endurance sounds good, it conflicts with all other forms of endurance you can have. If you are good at Dead Hard (or have a script) it accomplishes nearly the same thing OTR would do when being tunneled.
i find it hilarious people have an idea people think lots of people are running scripts lol. like maybe 1/10000 are doing this

I've seen the survivor incentive at 50% and even the killer at 100%.
Or this cursed moment:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/JDQ53HSJIE2I/image.png
the incentive being 100 for the survivor most of the time is not an indicator that survivors are leaving the game. DBD needs 4 survivors for every killer. If roughly half the playerbase plays survivor and the other half plays killer, well the survivor side needs more players. In order for their to be balanced queues, 80% of players would have to be queueing for survivor. In order for killer to see incentives you would need like 90% of the playerbase playing survivor.
yeah keep trying to convince yourself this.......lobby times at night here used to take minutes...they literally take seconds now..no matter what time of day.

Cool. You're also regularly ruining it for the other people playing, and corrupting BHVR's internal statistics as well. What an absolute legend.
Get real. nothing he said made the game any worse for anyone else

Killers on this very board said. It wont change anything....survivors wont quit........and now all we see all day every day is survivor incentive x100 all day every day. Steam charts show it happened. And its only going to get worse from here. I cant say i blame you at all for leaving. Every update that drops make the game worse than it was before.

I’m going to go ahead and call bs. Only because I’ve seen several of your posts, and not one ever gave me any reason to believe you have ever played survivor for 5 minutes. But that’s just my opinion

Its a multiplayer game. Survivors can just set the pace of the game as killers do. Its ok, that you only want to play against new players, by always letting them go and ensuring that your mmr rating keeps low. But more experienced survivors are perfectly capable of setting the pace of the game.
Suiciding just ruins the game for everyone involved. There is no excuse for that. You claim that its justified, because the killer plays scummy and you want to get out. But how would the killer play scummy, if the survivor already attempts to suicide on the very first hook, while the killer is leaving? I´ve seen this way to often. While i´m on my way to unhook, how the killer is at the other end of the map and yet... my teammate tries to suicide.
There simply is no excuse. Either play the game normally or don´t ready up for a match.
attempting to get off the hook is part of the game. as is camping and tunneling. you might not like it. but its as much strategy as the other.

The copium from someone who doesn't even understand what they're talking about is sidesplittingly hilarious.
DBD has been (more or less) constantly improving in every new patch. Yes, release DBD was busted in a time where it was literally a brand new game balanced around hide-and-seek and not chase. Know what happened? Ash Williams was released on live on April 2, 2019. Guess when Mettle got fixed? June 18, 2019. Just over two months after its release. Hillbilly's semi-rework and Overheat system came out July 28, 2020. Guess what else also happened multiple times since then? Adjustments to overheat, buffs to his best add-ons, etc on August 5, 11 2021 and October 19, 2021. Just over a year since the initial poorly done release.
Decisive Strike in its pre-nerf state? Explicitly mentioned by devs they are working on it. Same with pre-nerf Dead Hard. Same with overstacking of gen regression/second chances. Same with working on trying to come up with ideas for tunneling/camping/slugging (despite it being an arduous process given multiple ideas have been thrown out for being too abusable or too useless). Same with pre-nerf Keys. Same with pre-nerf Moris. And then results delivered, changes made, and the issues basically solved (outside of perk stacking and the game strategies at the moment, and even that is something they're actively working on and have made test changes on).
Wow, gee, I can't possibly figure out what could maybe be the odd one out here. Hmm... could it be? The character that after her (deserved) heavy nerfs, has basically never ever even a single time been stated to be a balance issue? The character that basically only ever was mentioned in regards to bug fixes? A character that has gotten a huge number of perks to play with due to buffs and releases giving her a plentiful selection of perks she can make amazing use of? That has even then, still not once been said to be an issue or that she needs or will receive changes? Nah. Makes no sense.
"I can beat terrible players with (insert build) on (insert character), therefore, (insert) is OP." Genius conclusion. Clearly why every single perk and character in this game is OP, because good players have beaten pub lobbies with all sorts of bizarre and awful builds that cover every perk in this game. Literally not worth wasting any more time trying to explain this, LOL.
Constantly demeaning others in every convo, tldr.

I'm hesitant to subscribe to the dumb "killer mains vs survivor mains" mentality that plagues the forums. Judge someone's argument by how valid it is. Not by how they play the game.
That being said, the arguments that @SuzuKR have used are not valid. As I have already proven. I'd just rather have this discussion stick to attacking the arguments of the person. Not the person themselves. Ok?
From what I have seen with other threads it’s literally no point arguing anything that goes against killer anything with a particular something, chances are you won’t get anything but told your wrong because it doesn’t fit their narrative
-
The one take away from most conversations i see on here about killers being underpowered usually is dependant on the player. People must have this odd belief you can just pick up any killer and be good withing a few matches. That isnt the case and shouldnt be the case. as each killer is so different from one another. People often times want to deny that the real issue is that they just arent very good with a certain killer, and by that fact alone i take any ranking of killers with a grain of salt. As a survivor you can tell the difference in these so called weak killers when they are put in the right hand of a skilled person playing that killer. But overreaction is typical on any forums so i guess its to be expected
-
The game as a whole has turned into a tunnel fest, it’s never going to change so you either cope with it or move on! That’s the best advice I can give
-
not even sure how to respond to a post like this

Nurse and Blight are perfectly balanced with the exceptions of range/3 blink and Alch Ring/C33/C21 respectively. Nerfing them doesn't make any other killer more appealing to play except by comparison.

That is not holding the game hostage as per game rules. The game will end in 4 minutes. Hatch having counterplay is a good thing. Hatch in the first place is a pity mechanic that exists for players on the side that have basically already lost. It should not be reliable.
pity mechanic? thats your opinion. they put it in the game so that a survivor has a chance. whether or not you agree with that doesnt change the fact its in the game. Hence why they have keys and perks that make it possible to use them more effectively. shouldnt be up to one side whether or not a mechanic in the game is actually possible.
-
basically, killers get to to take away a mechanic from the game the devs put in. i often times find it super pathetic when they get to eliminate hatch all together. They really need to look into this...or just take hatch out altogether.

Sure, time is precious, but that all goes to presumptions built into the games. Most killers boil down to making strategic decisions about map control and playing a guessing game with survivors in chases. Survivors have a much higher quantity of things to learn (Carth covered them well in a post here) and a mistake by a survivor gives away a lot more than a killer mistake (unless you are playing a high ranked SWF team with coordination, which everyone seems to come back to as the balance measure).
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3153108#Comment_3153108
One thing I find interesting as a balance thing, and you talk about survivors being able to override perks, is not only are there players who have 100s/1000s of hours of practice on me, but they also get the advantage of mixing and matching perks to make ideal skill set. I get that it is baked in to keep players for long periods of time, but it's just a mismatch on so many levels.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3153874#Comment_3153874
This will probably be me. I got up to 30 hours relatively quick, partially because I was taking notes and tracking things, but since then my hours have slowed to a crawl. Survivor is a massacre, killer is generally easy and not my preference, and the response seems to be 'just give it a few hundred more hours'.
i feel you....as a survivor main....if you dont find someone with large amounts of skill to teach you things you need to know. you probably wont make it. find people to play with and the game will definitely become a more entertaining experience. and just learn to be patient with your growth

All I am saying is that a killer has NEVER reached out and called me anything. Survivors do it on the regular. This is not even an "us versus them" as I play both sides. It is more of an observation, one that I happen to share with a lot of the community because I watch a lot of toxic videos and you can imagine how the ratio must be skewed. Those delusional killers are probably just survivors mains on killer given how unicorn rare they are. It would not surprise me in the slightest.
Must not play a lot of survivor then

First of all: Welcome to Dead by Daylight!
With that being said. 30 hours or even 100 hours is very little in this game. Veterans have usually over 3k hours. Some even going over 6k hours (longest player has 11k i think). While the game might seem overwhelmingly killer sided for new players. It certainly doesn´t stay that way, when you play longer.
problem is people dont stick around that long to find out because its a god awful experience.......you do realize that right?

At 30 hours in this is a normal viewpoint and experience to have. Being a new killer is a lot easier than being a new survivor (assuming that matchmaking is pairing you with new survivors too). Even a couple of experienced survivors may fall to a newer killer if they have teammates who don't contribute much.
Killer does get harder. And solo survivor will still be pretty hard as well, at least both roles will take some degree of effort barring no throwing from the other side. But most of the
weird nerds with no livesexperienced players with a lot of hours will agree that with all players correctly using the tools available to them, survivors will win out. In standard, average MMR gameplay it'll usually fall to whoever is more skilled, got more lucky, played more brutally, and/or brought the strong stuff.the problem is what one considers a win. 2k 6-8 hooks is a w....however most killers are under the notion its 4k or bust. and thats the real issue that everyone tends to overlook

This discussion is really interesting, because it depends more on facts and views from both perspectives than just "cry survs are too strong or killers".
I have played 1.500 hours till February, when I started the game. I do love the game, its a bit passion. I love it to complete all tomes and rank up to Iri 1.
From my point of view, killer is easier when u play against non-coordinated teams. However, if u reach the 2man SWF / 2man SWF Teams or even 3 or 4men at once, u cannot win with different killers, if they know what they do. Thats a fact. The only way to beat this coordinated superheroes is to change the game into an 3v1 asap.
One thing you need to consider: While survivors are literally all the same, using the same addons around the board and perks, every killer has different addons and abilitys. One Addon-Pass is super nice, another one is super bad. So are the abilities of the killers.
In my opinion, you should watch over the killers first and work for balance among these. After that, u should look for the "how do they play out"-stuff.
Well. its not a fact...Otzdarva does it.....just play more and get to that mythical 5k hours and maybe you will be able to beat those squads. but it isnt impossible

Im just under 2000 hours and still 3-4K as killer mostly. But some games I get seal swf team with 7K hours each and I lose usually I can get kill or two playing dirty but these games show the game is survivor sided if they are very skilled and know what they're doing. But as survivor I escape freguently maybe like 1/3 of games now playing soloQ or duo/trio swf. But my friends play casually so we could do better and my solo teammates...
you say the game is survivor sided because of a squad that has 7k hours beats you? do you think a squad with 7k hours in a game should be an easy match? maybe it isnt survivor sided...maybe it is.....but comparing anything to anyone with 7k hours is a bit ridiculous one would hope you would agree your rationale is a bit off

Okay. So...there's something about this that makes me a bit suspicious, but let's proceed assuming that this is genuine.
When you start out, you tend to get a lot of kills. The killer 'role' is much more intuitive than survivor is.
This starts to fall off as you encounter better players, more coordinated, often in an SWF.
This is what playing against a skilled survivor looks like.
To your points:
- 'Hours' doesn't really matter, unless you're talking about...honestly I'd say 300+, which tends to be the point where someone starts being 'intermediate'. This game takes a lot of time to really grasp.
- At very low MMRs, killer choice doesn't really matter, because survivors have absolutely zero idea of how to loop or run you effectively. You can effectively just walk up to them and hit them. This will change. Go and watch Otz's attempts at a Dredge streak to see how tough it can be to play against a good group of survivors even now.
- Talk to me in a few hundred hours. Or, if you want to see what you're in for, go check out some of the recent Hardcore Survivor series streams - just dozens upon dozens of 3-4man escapes in a row.
As things stand, the killer has a slightly lower skill 'floor', in that it's a role where you'll feel stronger than survivors for a time.
As you start getting towards a more intermediate MMR, you'll see why killers need those things.

Yeah, I want to see footage too, because something about this feels...off to me.
you want footage? and you are comparing skilled people with the assumption that there are a large group of people like zubat? you literally shared a video of an elite dbd player acting as if there is a large number of players out there like him. now thats hilarious

You'll learn just how wrong you are as you get more hours in against a good SWF team. Sure you do get notifications, and scratch marks etc but it's 1 person against 4. If the 4 are good, get a good map, and know how to counter whichever killer you're using you'll quickly see how it's not so " kiLleR siDed"
according to killers in the forums.....every loss is a 4man sweat squad.....its like calling someone a cheater.....but yet no proof of it

Sadly, this is how most threads go. People complain about the perk being trash, when its still strong and not abusable anymore. I sometimes really wonder, if the people that complain about it, never got a toxic SWF squad, that tried everything to make their teammates live as unenjoyable as possible.
so strong that a face camping bubba. can still be a face camping bubba....but thats ok.....because in killers eyes...its strategy. its become clearly evident they listen to all these killer complaints, fix those problems. but dont really do much about face camping....bt lasting that extra 5 seconds wont do anything to help against that
-
@cyniChris said:
BHVR can't do anything right in your eyes, huh?
Reassurance, in its PTB form, was abuseable to a point where it could hold survivors hostage or make survivors literally never die.
Just because SOME killers camp doesn't mean the killers who don't should be punished. Just because SOME killers camp doesn't mean survivors who just want out of the game should be held there against their will.
Reassurance gets a nerf, while still being a very strong perk, and you act like you'll never see it. It'll be as common as old BT - you'll see it in virtually every match. And it WILL win games.
Stop whining because you can't abuse a perk.
do you need evidence? like how killer ques are as bad as ever? do you think thats a coincidence? Lets not be naive here, they are pushing people away with these horrible ideas they implemented with the dh destroy patch.

When you play nurse well you will stomp all level survivors. She is so far above all the other killers that she literally breaks the game.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZEzpkirSaNc
when do we nerf her?
1) We need to nerf SWF first because she is the only killer strong enough to handle all maps/swf teams. How do we nerf SWF? Limit SWF to no repeats of : characters/perks/items.
2) We need to nerf map sizes. Why play M1 killers when she exists?
3) we need to maps to be less safe. Either the quality of pallets need to decrease or the number needs to decrease or both. Once again - why play an M1 killer when she exists?
limit perks? WOW . quite possibly the worst idea ive ever seen on the forums
