So? It's not like survivors with 999999 hours go easy when they get a baby killer. Also, 150 hours is not newbie. That's already enough time to get decent at the game.
Wait 150 hours you can get good at the game? Lol

It'll live but the sad part is they do nothing to address core gameplay issues. Killers only camp and tunnel when vsing competent survivors because that's the most efficient way to win. Against decent survivor players the reality is killers don't stand a chance unless they camp/tunnel and play genuinely scummy. This sort of gamestyle isn't really fun for anyone and I'd like to see these devs actually make a change to how this game is played by looking at some of the fundamentals because not having changed any of it since day 1 and releasing heaps of killers and hundreds of perks has simply just made the game broken at mid to higher level gameplay, it's sad to see.
no chance? this is completely untrue. i play with a swf, we dont win 50 percent of the matches we are in. so these killers must be amazing then .
-
"strategy" you heard it here. so it is the truth.. . . . . nothing else to be said here. devs dont care, we just have to deal with it
-
not the teabag...sheesh. i choose not to let them bother me. they literally mean nothing to me

The easiest and best solution (granted not popular) is to remove swf entirely. That would help provide better balance for both sides but thqt will never happen because people want to play with their friends, which makes sense, but there isn't a way to keep swf without throwing off the balance of the whole game
And then dbd would die, no way it survives if you remove swf

Killers picking the best tactics does not make them unskilled. Part of being good at the game is knowing how to handle you are in. You can dislike the meta and wish the devs to change it. But getting mad at the players for using the best tools available is just being toxic.
the thing you are missing, when its 3v1 with 4 or more gens up, its a guarantee win. if you cant win against a 3v1 with 4 gens up, its on you.

If i'd tunnel on 5 gens I'd think of myself that i'm bad in the game personally, not satisfying win.
Anyway, even if I can convince one gamer to improve I've did mine to make the community more healthy and some players to master their killers in chase instead of relying on easy tactics.
dont worry they think they are the best
-
its all about "strategy" around here......EZ mode is what this place is all about...you arent going to get them to agree with you. the only way they will get it is when as a killer. they q up and spend 20 minutes trying to find a lobby in a game where noon wants to play the other side. i played killer for the first time this morning in over 6 months. with perks streamers have databases to using for each killer, and a basic knowledge of the game. you can destroy most trials fairly easy. i just couldnt take more than 3 matches of doing so. went back to the more challenging side

NAH

a game is dead when devs stop working on it......i know another horror game people still play that hasnt had an update in years.

reality is.....its the killers job to take you off the gens. not the survivors job not to do gens

who didnt see this coming? when you allow "strategy" to destroy the game for others. consequences are going to occur. this is the reality of too much power in one persons hands.

I have played soloQ more than Killer. It is not stressful most of the time. When it is clear I have potato teammates, resignation sinks in, not stress.

id love to see this amazing survivor play of yours. would you show us?

Who didn’t see this coming, I think it was clear from the start why the topic was created in the first place, best thing any mod can do is just close it and move on, no matter what anyone says in here there is going to be one side that doesn’t see it as the other does, and then all you will have is people calling people phobes of some sort because the other doesn’t agree with them. It’s a game, with fictional character, just let it be whatever you want it to be.

The problem is players don't want to use anti-tunnel perks to counter tunneling. Do you think tunneling into OTR is really the best way to win? I don't see tunneling being an issue when I run sprint burst and off the record and it certainly isn't the easiest and most effective strat when running that combo.
so an extra 15 seconds in a match with the perks youve described is supposed to make it all better? if a killer wants you, those perks mean absolutely nothing. in particular otr, one hit and you dont even get the full timer.

oh man lets unpack this.
All 10 matches you bring unbreakable and you still bleed out for the 4 mins in all 10 matches. That doesn't happen its not as prevalent as people like to make out.
The fact of the matter is it happens yes, but not to the extent you need it to happen to illustrate your point which is 10 out of 10 games or 100% of your play time.
If it takes that level of unrealistic hypothetical to make your point then your point is rather weak. (boy I get tired of having to say this to people on this forum, its such a common mistake).
Here.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3416729#Comment_3416729
See how the suggestion here doesn't require some fanciful hypothetical that appeals to the extremes in order to seem valid.
This is what I mean by objective vs emotional discussions.
Yeah for sake of argument if I did get bled out for 10 games in a row I would probably call it a day playing survivor, but the problem here is the mechanic of being left to bleed out for 4 mins not slugging or bleed out in general. So if you read the above post I've addressed this in the most practical way I can see fit.
Without the need for extreme hyperbole.
it was hypothetical in the sense to say waht if it does happens. the realism to it is that it could happen. but of course you dont see the problem in that
-
Game is headed in the wrong direction
-
if you are looking for sympathy, these forums probably aren’t best way to get it, it’s just a game, move on to next match like all of us do
-
i think the real reason camping and tunneling are left the way it is. because they know if these two things are dealt with kill rates would drop significantly. and they dont wanna hurt those numbers. because they mean everything

- Hope your teammates help.
- Move to a pallet and hope for a pallet save.
- Fill up your rescue bar so a friend can get you up ASAP.
- Laugh as the Killer throws the game if he is camping your body.
Or do you think Survivors should get a free perk to stand up whenever they want, just because they say 'Slugging is not fun for us'?
Is slugging 4 people healthy for the game?
-
@pseudechis said:

"My friend it just not fun not playing the game," Then why play it, why are you here at all?
Call it passive aggressive if you wish, but you started with claiming what I was saying is bollocks the reason for which was "other people will complain about something else"
Its both aggressive and irrelevant, so I opted to give you some relevance but you don't have any good replies other than you don't find the game fun.
So I say again if you don't find it fun why are you here?
You don't need me to insult you, it seems like you are doing just fine beating yourself up on your own if you are spending your time playing a game you don't like and being angry about it. Why do that to yourself?
hypothetically speaking, if you played 10 matches and all ten times you brought unbreakable, you got yourself up all ten times only to be slugged again for an additional 4 minutes. do you think youd still play the game after this? i know what your answer will be. But the majority would probably disagree. I know i know. your argument is that it doesnt happen 10/10 times. But why does that matter. The fact of the matter is it happens. its lame. and it does nothing healthy for the game in terms of keeping a player base. if you think this stuff isnt going to make people considering not playing the game anymore, then id call that foolish.
-
@pseudechis said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3413971#Comment_3413971
The suggestion to bring unbreakable is a valid one regardless of how the match plays out.
People complain about being slugged and how it ruins their game, well there is a perk for that and if you don’t like being slugged you should probably bring it.
The same reason I run lightborn a lot. While you can avoid a flashy save it’s so much easier to not worry about it at all.
Does it always get use no, but I don’t like having to worry about flashlights so I often bring the perk.
If your gripe about the game is you hate being slugged then bring the perk that helps you evade being slugged.
If your gripe about the game is you hate everything and want to bring your choice build while avoiding anything the opponent might do that you hate, then your complaint isn’t very realistic.
so basically, bring unbreakable to avoid being slugged. and once ive used unbreakable the first time and i get slugged again. then what?

And do you know you can't decide which solo survivors you will get. I am fine at loops. I can buy some time for my team. But this all out of topic. We are talking about Sloppy started to be problematic perk.
not to mention all swf arent "good" ....but try to tell that to people here and you get nowhere

Why would you use a perk that heals you in what...60+ seconds? more if with slobby? Why would you want to destroy your team with 1 minute healing in a corner while you can have a medkit with 2 heals + adrealine? Are you that afraid of staying injured?
yes. because allowing your teammates to do gens while you heal yourself is a bad thing. i play enough solo q to know if they arent healing me there is a better chance they are doing gens.

Survivors have multiple perks to counter slower healing. Only perk that gets hit hard this patch was self-care which is a perk that NO ONE should be running the first place.
Change your perk load out. Stop using the same old same old. Put a healing perk in there, remove the windows of opportunity and add we'll make it. Adrealine is a good choice too. I use it. I always stay injured the last gen because i know i have a perk that will heal me automatically.
Why is it that everytime something gets little bit harder it needs to be nerfed to the ground?
Also CoH nerf was needed. That perk was trouble from the beginning and if im honest its still very strong and troublesome perk.
DH nerf.. is it really a nerf? You can still use it 2 times. Its not un usable like Overcharge and brine are right now.
you heard it here folks.......no one should use self care....take it out of the game because he said so
-
Not sure why you want to discuss this.....if you have a opinion that differs from being against it its a bannable offense.

Healing nerfs got turned back only Medkit nerfs.
I dont know how everyon say DH is dead. Its very tiny nerf compair too the Killer Perk changes.
Medkit nerfs where needed for yeard.
CoH got nerfed yes but if you would play it now you would see the nerf wasnt that massively.
Ds dead is true they should do a 4 sec stun
DH rework was needed, but its still the strongest Survivor Perk.
Gen time wasnt that big compair to perks that caim out later (Hyperfocus) Solo gen in 40 sec great gen time increase.
Less Distanz on Hit I agree has an impact on Survivor.
dh still the strongest perk? Horrible opinion. lost me there
-
how about do the right thing.....take a chapter off to work on bigger issues. nah thats too much to lose money wise

And the nerfs are nothing compared to the killer perks. The nerf to killer perks are unusable whilst survivors can use them without a hassle and CoH is better than ever before.
this is so nonsense. what made coh op was the fact you could have basically a free med kit in any situation in which a totem was present. dh has so many requirements on it now and can only be used a handful of times per game tops at the most.

Who said I want easy mode? I want to finally see survivors using different perks instead of using the same perks 24/7 such as Dead Hard and CoH. Shits getting really old.
both perks were just nerfed. what more do you want done? do you want them to make them non usable? if thats the goal. just take away all perks and addons
-
sounds like you want easy mode where you get perks but survivors dont? how about take bloodlust away and make all killers 2 percent faster then survivors
-
outisde looking in....the comments that have been brought to light from this post does nothing but create more division within the community. as others have said the easiest way is just to unpin it which makes more sense. Politics, religion, life choices are just topics that should be avoided in forums altogether, because all they do is promote division.

@Saiph said:
I'd say this is an universal experience. A while back I sampled random games from Twitch streamers (solo queue) and their average escape rate was ~30%.
Keep in mind these are 10k hour players, presumably high MMR survivors, so don't expect the situation to be better as a casual player... Some of my Steam friends are streamers so I sometimes watch their gameplay and they have even less than 30%, with regular loss streaks of 5-10 games. Out of 10 games they have 2-3 that feel like a normal game, the rest are straight up stomps, or survivor DCing at 5 gens, or the killer is farming.
Some people on this forum claim their solo queue games are fine, I have no idea how this is possible (probably they play 1 game per month). Literally try it yourself, go click on random survivor Twitch channels and you'll struggle to find one that has even a 50% winrate. Especially look at small channels of casual players with 100-1000 hours. It's almost comical how they keep losing over and over, and even after a 10 loss streak the game still gives them a sweaty Nurse.
killers be watching too much true lol
-
I have always been perplexed when people throw the "killer is harder" thing out there. Understanding the game to the level of being a good/great survivor probably requires a round 800/1000 hours in game. ive consistently ran into people with 500 or so hours that didnt even know there was 3 speeds in which you can vault a window. Map understanding is by far the hardest thing for a survivor simply because you are going to have to look behind you alot when being in a chase. Tile knowledge is also one of those things that even experienced survivors struggle with. My best advice for you would be to find a group of people in a discord, play in a swf more often then not because you can learn alot of things from others. I know this isnt something everyone will want to do. But this isnt really a game you just pick up and instantly be good at.

It's just lie, trutalent had an experiment where he didn't camp or tunnel + didn't use slow gen perks.
the survivors were constantly wrong (they made 20+ serious mistakes) during this time tru was wrong 4 times in 50/50 situations
and in such scenarios he lost
if a killer with 10000h who played against often mistaken survivors (his chase time was no more than 20 seconds) could not win what you want from ordinary killers?
did he count these mistakes or did you? from what ive seen from his videos, its usually click bait
-
Still nothing BHVR?

its things that are in the game that shouldnt be in the game....sorrry that was so hard to pick up on

Likely, yeah. I'm middle aged XD. My first gaming console was a bootleg NES.
this doesnt happen often. thats the exception. not the rule. what i said earlier plays a huge reason as to why survivors typically are more toxic at the end of the match. and like i said and ill repeat it again, there is a large part of the community that has a goal of making the other side mad. its just the reality of the game in a nutshell

Do you think bullies takes on the alone role or surround themselves with others? Perhaps the absolute psychos play killer more but they are fewer than the bullies. Survivors have many more toxic players just keep an eye on them end game chats on PC and see how many of them react bad to losing compared to killer players.
I'm survivor main myself but you must be blind if you don't see what role toxic players prefer.
you seem to be leaving out the fact that killers have the roll where they play toxic looking for the negative response intentionally, and act surprised when they get it. Of course the side that generally gets tunneled out and camped is more likely to be more pissy at the end of a match. i watch certain killer streams where the goal is to catch "SALT", then go and make youtube videos where they are shocked at the other person's behaviour. Tit for tat if you ask me. But thats apparently what stream viewers and youtube channels are looking for.

Because they are 4 at once and affirm each other, against the one . This is the natural way humans function as predators. In vs out group. Its like the first pages of the sociology text book(or it was way back when).
Watch smaller twitch streamers, you can do it while you play against them, just let them win if it bothers you that they might think you are cheating for watching.
One person says a thing either in chat or in voice and on it goes, it takes a mountain of evidence to stop it at that point from being perceived as fact. As an example, I was watching a stream against the player sitting next to me. The twitch player was mostly not focused on the game and would flee the gens much too late, even after he was well aware he was facing Wesker. His assistant who was monitoring the game flow called CoB/Eruption. It took until the end screen for them to acknowledge that there was no CoB or Eruption. Only scourge hook.
I did not want to make mention of the toxic interactions that form along the same lines, because although I think we should point them out as a thing that is part of the community, I do no think we should showcase them.
yes because all killers in dbd are saints. the game is toxic because there are things in the game that shouldnt be in the game
-
Ok, ill say this with no intention of being toxic. The reason its done, is because it all but guarantees a win for the killer. With 4 gens up and 3 survivors remaining. The chance of survival is abysmal. It is by far the easiest way to ensure victory. So why wouldnt they do it is the better question to ask IMO.
