No, just... No.
The old DH was the MOST stupid thing that this game has for a long time.
Even with MFT right now - at least I can lunge my hits like a normal killer being without sniffing the survivors backs.
MFT is pretty stupid only with HOPE in play. Old DH was in every single chase.
So NOPE!

Who cares about Boons in 2023?
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3517853#Comment_3517853
The problem is more the combination of Slowdown-Perks which prolong the game + the mandatory Job of cleansing 5 Totems on top of it. Plus it would make Pentimento a real pain to deal if the Killer can count on Survivors breaking Totems. It can already be strong, but only with a Dedicated Build. If I know that I would get built-in NOED and that the Survivors are forced to cleanse my Totems, I would run Pentimento in every game.
And nerfing some Regression Perks is not the way to go IMO. This would also hurt those who only run one Regression-Perk.
I think you need to point another reason of why it shouldn't be basekit for killer.=)
To me - this perk is pretty niche as Unrelenting, wasting a perk slot on that is just feels wrong to me, and I don't think like it's gonna affect the game too much, even if you do.
Unlike corrupt tho - basekit corrupt is gonna help a lot for a killers without mobility.
-
I do play a lot of this killer recently, trying to get good at...
As much as I want to say it's strong and fun, it's not really...
Some of the matches are ok, some are really frustrating...
Frustrating because - wobbly pods placing... Sometimes you need to place a pod and slipstream really fast, but you can't because for some UNKNOWN reason the pod just don't want to coonect on some places and walls. And because of that, you have to shoot multiple times till it's connects and survivor by that time is a goner. It actually frustrating if that happens multiple times per 1 match. =)
Emps are another story that feels completely unfair about his power. I don't need to say anything about it, you know it yourself.=)
And even if you do teleport to survivor it's a 50-50 even with speed addon. His power is good only on a paper really, I can tell.
And he's strongly map dependant - you probably will play 70% or more without a power in indoor maps.
Besides the killer, this update gave MFT, this one of the reason for people to say that they like this patch, but deffinitely not the killer, after you played him\her for a little while.=)
-
For killers are: Corrupt and Shattered hope.
Survivors already have some perks as basekit.

I don't agree with them all either. but
- yes. she is. she has the condemn mechanic aswell and her stealth is weird on top of the tapes and keeping track of when tvs come back and all that. while you can explain wraith completely in like 10 or 20 words max.
- yes. he has a higher skill ceiling than moderate, but he is very simple to understand and do well with (which is ultimately what I think bhvr considers the most when putting them where they are). you hold saw and go brrrr. or "AAARRRGH" i guess...
- she is. it's like billy, simple to understand and apply but allows a high skill expression. I do not agree with myers not being on easy
- myers no. but clown and freddy can be excused to be in moderate. it takes some amount of skill to properly use both bottles and the dream world mechanics adds some amount of complexity to freddy.
- singularity should probably be on very hard
Good points.
Tho I still think that Sadako is pretty easy to play as, since her condemn is completely automatical, you don't really need to think about it too much.
To down a survivor as this killer you just need a basic knowledge of mindgames.
To me Sadako should be Moderate, just because of her TV's and keeping eye on a survivors with tapes. Otherwise she would be as easy as Trapper,
Tho Trapper is easy - pretty arguable too.
-
Right now - Singularity
And I don't care how much I'm getting SH on every match. xD
-
You know that this kind of behaviour (trying to get out of the game fast) is reportable, right?
And you know how to report properly, right?

@Tsulan said:
Events like this are nice. As they show how fast gens can be completed. Suddenly no one complaints about a 4 minute match...
I do complain. xD
I just had a match with Slinger...
2 min 12 seconds - 3 gens are done and I have only 2 hooks, 4-th gen were maybe 20% already. Is this normal?
The most stupid thing for me is that, I didn't even chased for long, they didn't brought ANY toolboxes, they've had 2 prove thyself and 1 hyper focus... Thats it.
Good thing I don't even get mad at such matches... I just feel they unfair to begin with

It's the only way Survivors get the Bonus BP, so gen rush galore
Oh wait, so bonus bp for survivors only go from completing a gen?! I didn't know tho...
@ThatRedPyramidThing said:
It's not you.
Yesterday every single match I played as killer I got gen rushed and ended the match with 0 kills about 3 to 6 hooks and the match lasted about five minutes.
This event is showing that survivors when they actually do gens cannot lose. The only reason survivors ever lose is because they choose not to do gens.
Most kills happen during the egc and drastically inflated kill rates
BHVR needs to look at how many games have all 4 survivors alive when the fifth gen is popped. Because it's most games.
Survivors hate hearing the truth. Killer is not op. Your team just didn't do gens. Survivors get mad at the killer but it's their teammates not doing gens they need to be mad it.
But this even proves ALL the power is with survivors when they actually do their objective.
This is what I was afraid of btw.=)
Even if they doing that because of event, they can do the same in any other time... But it was rare tbh before the event.=)
-
Tbh I'd rather have corrupt as basekit...
The gen speed have been harsh lately.
-
I think being dieded on a hook is a part of playing a game... No?
-
As Otz once says...
"She doesn't have feelings! She's playing NURSE!"
Same thing can be said to sm "chess player".=)
-
Because they think they're new, and they don't want to "babysit" them.
They probably don't know one thing... Prestige doesn't mean anything.
-
Survivors tunnels gens... Killers tunnels survivors...
Yeah, I think it's fair.

You literally don't know though, you're just assuming
What this site says is not really an issue of it's true or not...
The fact is - This killer needs some qol as fast as possible. And one of:
- Buff to his power.
- Further nerfs to emps.
Something might be done with. You can't just deny that.

Disagree.
There are probably millions of DBD games played per month.
802 games isn't significant.
I'm pretty sure, that even with 1 million game on singularity right now - he will be below average pickrate and most likely to 0k, just as this site says.
Wesker right now have the most pickrate it's not a secret, and even this "unlegitimate source of data" as Nightlight says the same.
I don't think it's a coincidence.
-
It maaaaybe painful when you're losing, but much more satisfying when you 4k-ing without using such tactics.=)
-
@Luckyfer said:
If my last 50 games as Killer and Survivors taught me something is that Killers have it too easy and peaceful.
Escape rate is as low as it gets, for me atleast.
My Killrate is 3+ on a bad day,and I let a lot of survivors escape because I feel pity for them.
Hell...I haven't even been able to escape and collect 1 item...
What do developers do all day?
Play Killer once a month vs SWF.
How can anyone justify this...
I feel like you clickbated me with this thread. xD
You really think that killers are "the easier and peaceful role"?=)
I don't know against what survivors you were playing, but I'd suggest you to play something below B tier for a few matches and come back with a feedback.=)
-
@Pulsar said:
You cannot use NightLight as a legitimate source of data.
The sample size is simply too exclusive and too small.
I wouldn't draw any conclusions from this.
802 games from a month is pretty significant (just saying)
Now to OP:
From my personal view...
I played this killer enough to say things like:
- VERY clunky power makes him frustrating to play as. (Putting pods on objects)
- His power is not really rewarding (without 5% of haste addon is almost useless)
- Emps are OVERcounterring his power. Without any issues to get them.
- He feels really slow with gameplay loop.
- He suffers against a team of 2 or 3 ppl. (Not even a full squad).
- Very map dependant.
Why play a killer that have to go through frustration and sweat just to do the same as any other killer just pushing 1 button power?
Ps: All tho... I wanna test him with this 1 xeno perk that gives haste effect after a hit... There is a potencial...

I know, but still... Make it real.
-
Dead by daylight 2.
Make it real.
-
I don't know. Oo
I'm just toying with survivors sometimes when I feel like so. xD
Currently I'm trying to down 4 survivors and lay them down in a way to make "XX". Take a screenshot and add to my collection.
After I'm done with that, my next goal is to mori a survivor infront of other survivor and slowly nod 2 times...
P.s: Oops, sorry, but I have more than 1k hours...

No way.

Aren't willing to buy the skins regardless.
Don't think it's a big deal.

Pyramid Head, Onryo (Sadako) and Myers.
Aside from killers, there is a perks that gives you a chance to use a mori, if conditions are met.

That's a terrible mindset to have, forcing people to buy it by having it limited time is FOMO at it's finest
Who's forcing you to buy a skin? What is that mentality?
How many times I have to say... If you don't like the skin, it doesn't matter if it's limited or not, you're not going to buy it anyway.
If you do like it, you have the WHOLE MONTH to buy it. What is the problem?
If the problem is that you have to wait till the season come up... Well... Excuse me, it's just a skin. It's not affecting your gameplay, just keep enjoying the game till you have a chance to buy it.
I bet you guys it's the first time you're seeing limited (seasonal) outfits... That is no other way.
-
Banning for doing something else aside from gens is obviously not happening.
As long as they're clearly not afking... You probably can't do much at this point.=(
Run the killer for more than 360 sec then. xD
Try to run them for 720 sec next time! That should do!
-
You want matches be more even, or you just want "free wins"? =)
-
"Are they really stopped...?"

the entire game has been balanced away from her. she can't teleport fast enough to actually catch anyone, and she walks so slow that survivors can easily completely outrun her.
Compare to Dredge who can catch survivors just fine.
Hope she gets a cube soon.

Here's some of basic reasons:
- "This killer doesn't play like an ape, I can't handle it" - DC.
- "Oh damn, I failed my DH..." - DC.
- "I don't like playing against this killer..." - DC.
- "My teammates just hiding around instead of doing gens..." - DC.
- "I'm getting tunneled." - DC.
- "Killer is facecamping me, I'm tired of it." - DC.
- "Killer have 4 hooks, and we did only 1 gen, it's over." - DC.
- "HOW IS THAT A HIT?!" - DC.
- "Oh no, he's slugging... He's so bad." - DC.
- "She's doing a totem instead of unhooking me." - DC.
- "So it's 4 gen-regression perks?" - DC.
- "Oh P-off with your Franklin's." - DC.
- "WHAT AM I WATCHING RIGHT NOW?!" - DC.
There is like 29382938 reasons. But the most unsettling part about it - Survivors thinks that they're allowed to DC in DBD, which is completely wrong.
The most basic reasons to any DC - Tilt, anger, lack of skill.

This is about direction it's headed rather than "just don't buy it if you don't want to lol".
I've seen people just gone completely crazy about limited skins... I've no idea why.
Direction of what? Like you never seen limited skins before?
Personally I've no problems with that. If I really like a skin, I'll buy that instantly, or within a month. (Just like developers gave a month time)
If I don't like a new skin, I'll not buy it anyway, so why would I care about "this skin is limited", if I'm not gonna use it, or like it...?
This is why I don't understand this "outrage".
Literally every online game that I played has a limited time skins or exclusives.
-
Any "third party" program which is helping you do better at the game (scripting, macro) - you can consider as an exploits. Reportable.
-
Dude, if you want a skin, just buy it now. If you don't want it, don't buy it and do not care about them being "exclusives" or seasonal.
"What is going on with these players... I don't get it."

@Malkhrim said:
TL;DR: the hex mechanic is bad on most perks and needs to change. Totem locations are still terrible and should be adressed again.
Back in the day, one hex perk was meta: Ruin. Other hex perks were used from time to time, NOED being probably the second most popular, strong but still an endgame perk. No other hex had an immediate strong effect like these two, but aways had a chance of being cleansed early and leaving you with an empty perk slot without doing anything. Even Haunted Grounds could end up being cleansed when you had no healthy survivor near you and and so not doing much. Ruin had this problem too but was used a lot due to being the best regression perk and to the lack of alternatives (for a long time, Pop was the only viable alternative to Ruin).
I've commented before on this forums how I liked the Ruin nerf, since I hated the fact the best perk for slowing down the insanely quick gens had a chance of deactivating permanently in the first 30 seconds, and now we finally have alternatives. HOWEVER, after Ruin and NOED got nerfed, Hex Perks became extremely rare, and the first reason is obvious: it's not worth to take a perk that will probably be gone in the first few minutes instead of one that lasts for the whole match. The mechanic is underwhelming by default. No wonder why the better two at the moment are Plaything and Pentimento: the way their totems are created and their effects cleansed are different. They don't use the same mechanic that makes other hexes so weak. The other hex perks need an overhaul to change the way they work too.
Of course, other things made hexes become so unpopular: with Boon Totems, survivors seem to be more aware than ever of totem locations and look for them even before knowing there is a hex in play. And then there's the downside that plagued totems for years: many totem locations are just terrible, being either extremely visible or taking place right beside survivor's main objective, the generators.
I remember devs changed a few totem locations back in 2018... but I wonder when and why they decided they were fine and needed no more improvement. I leave a few examples below of totems I've seen in my matches in 2022. Even though some are months old, I haven't seen a single patch note or dev update talking about totem spawn changes.
Clearly visible in front of a high spot where a gen is located.

Dude, it took me 3 matches as a Hag to understand, that Hex perks are with you only for 2-3 minutes of the match, even less sometimes.
Since then, I'm not using any of those. (maybe 3 years ago already)
-
Don't touch the "healing hands"!
But tbh... We do need a more realistic healing animations.=)
-
Yes.
But sometimes when I do, it doesn't show up when I boot a game.
-
Looking forward to "smell around" a survivor in a snowmen.=3
-
You're free to check the news about DBD. There is might be something interesting will happen in the future so... Keep checking news, good luck and be cool dude.=)
-
You need to understand what exactly makes you fear playing a killer. Play through your fears, don't take the game very serious, and one day your fear will be gone. (It may not tho, but it's a high chance of it).
-
All changes should be openly said to community of any games.
I never understand things like "shadow buff", or "shadow nerf", It's a huge red flag from the developers, which is worrying.
If they changing something - they should always say it in a "Patch notes".
Don't change things "silently" from you community dear developers. It's not good.
-
When someone after being unhooked tries to hardly bodyblock me, I hit them and go for them again.
"You just got unhooked, if you don't want me to tunnel you, just stay away."
-
If soloq will be on a same level of communication as SWF, they will have to significantly buff lower tier killers to Nurse level (tier).
Since your everymatch (almost) will be against SWF, most lower tier killers completely disappear from your matches, you'll face killers like Nurse or Blight much often (if not everytime).
There is no buffing soloq to swf, without buffing low tier killers. A lot of time will need to balance things.
-
You still can hide (mind game) the red stain in loops so... I don't think it will make much difference if they completely remove it.
