It seems that you did not try to enter a tunnel after being burned
I had a miserable match where two flamethrowers were placed and I still managed to knock him out of his power
He simply entered the tunnel and after 3 seconds he regained his strength as if nothing had happened
The thing is that, you already gone far enough for Xeno to even care about chasing for you. And you wasted enough Xeno's time (it's not a 3 seconds btw) for your teammates to do gens on the other side.
I can't see how turrets are useless in any point.

The Tail Attack being way too forgiving was not only mentioned by Survivor-Mains. Also, it is not about being able to bully a Killer or anything (people who think that the vast majority of Survivors want to bully Killers have a really wild imagination).
But it is not good gamedesign when Xeno can use its tail without any punishment for missing. If the Survivor manages to avoid the attack, they should be rewarded. In this case by gaining distance, but you get nothing when Xeno misses with the attack. And this results in not being able to leave a Loops and eventually Xeno will hit or just use its M1 since it catches up.
When it comes to Turrets, they sometimes feel non-existent. At least the time investment on the Survivor-Side does not really justify the reward they get for moving around the turrets, especially since often enough one turret is just not enough, especially when Xeno is using Add Ons against the turrets. I had a game recently where at some point the Survivors did not put up any turrets anymore, because we needed to do Gens. And it did not really change the chases at all. This should show how ineffective the turrets are when you can basically ignore them and dont feel any difference.
IMO nerfing the tail attack to be more punishing when missing should be the first thing to do. And then we can see if more needs to be done, since a bigger punishment of missed tail attacks will make Xeno weaker in chase and also make the turrets a bit more effectice (since destroying it with the tail is a missed tail attack).
But currently, especially when compared to other somewhat similar Killers, Xeno is really forgiving. Whether it be that the ability is harder to use and more punishing (Pyramid Head) or in general less effective (Nemesis, third health state due to infection) or other Killers are simply slower, which leads to more punishment (Deathslinger having to reload, Huntress having to reload, both being at 4,4m/s).
Agreed about tail attack, it should be more punishing for missing it, but not as punishing for destroying a turret.
Also: as a Xeno, I see turrets like a "Time giver" for survivors to make distance, and power cancel If I somehow manage to wiff at turret. xD
Turrets giving survivors time to make distance, and it's a high risk of losing your power (as Xeno) if you try to ignore the turret.
Also, there is a bug right now that the game doesn't read your M1 on turrets sometimes, it's like you hitting a texture, and I'm not talking about moment when you just come out of a tunnels.=)
-
Have to completely disagree with you.=)
- Xeno is not p2w.
- Xeno have multiple counters.
- There is much stronger FREE killers.
- Xeno is pretty fun as or against.

I never said "everyone" plays scummy. I said some people will read the OP and purposely play contradictory, because many people in this community have a "your fun is not my responsibility" attitude. I've posted countless times here that I rarely see tunnelling and camping in my survivor games, and as such those things don't bother me, so I agree most people play respectfully. But that's not what I was saying in my post.
My point was that asking the community to play (or not play) in a certain way is futile. Ask people to not abuse a new exploit, they will. Ask people to not abuse a new meta and drag games for an hour (see gen kick meta), they will. Topics around tunnelling are common in the community and often devolve fast because - surprise - people don't like being told how to play.
Unfortunatelly, you're right about it.=)
But just asking to be nice for 1-3 days should not be futile, don't you think?=)
There should be a reminder:
- It's just a game.
- You're playing against living people.
- Wins can taste sour.
-
I think it would be too much of a "mindgame".
Pallet breaking is fine the way it is.
-
@Nazzzak said:
If I know this community as well as I think I do, then many people will read your post and purposely play scummy just because. I feel like no one hates this game as much as its playerbase.
Sorry, but you probably don't know this community well enough.=)
I don't know as well, but I can tell 1 thing for sure: Not everyone play "scummy", nor "toxic" towards the others.
I even think that most of the playerbase of this game (high mmr or low) playing respectfully to other side.
Also: "In each family there is a troglodite", no matter what game you play, you will find such "scummy players", the only thing we can do is just shake it off and move on to the next match.

Now this is just me asking that for a couple of days (including the weekend) we all play a bit nicer. After all, we will get a lot of new players due to the Alien chapter and the free weekend. So please don´t try to scare them away by playing in the least fun way.
I know, most people probably won´t read this. But how about we, as a community, try to play without: suiciding, camping, tunneling, BMing and just welcome the new players to our game?
Can we do this, please?
Basically:
- Take Xeno.
- Agressively fast down survivors, hook them.
- Defend gens.
When everyone on a second hook at 4-5 gens:
- Become a xeno-kitty and ask for pets.
- Who don't pet you - death.

How BBQ helps you tunnel? It supposed to do opposite if you mean getting someone else down and hooked with it help and then seeing earlier survivor with BBQ and going after them that is not tunneling. That's being smart.
BBQ really help tho. Without it I wouldn't know where to tunnel next, I'd have to guess and move around looking for footsteps after a hook. I think this is not how you tunnel practically. You wasting more time tunneling to another survivor.
If you tunneling on Xeno without using info perks, you probably very lucky, or you have insane game awareness, which is insanely good for you sir!
The best way to tunnel imo by using info perks, it's the same with Sadako's tvs.

"Blight terrorizing high mmr matches is still unchanged ( it has been 2 years since release)"
Is that the chapter's fault? Don't really get it.
Xeno is weak? He just been out for 1 day my guy, 90% of xeno players have no clue what they are doing and learning how to use M2 now. Just give it some time.
To me, it's pretty much a perfect fair killer. I'm having a blast playing it.
I do say xeno is somewhere around A tier.
-
I used tunnels a lot, it's a good way to regain your ability faster. I'm tunneling after every chase pretty much by using BBQ and chilli.
You should try it yourself btw.
-
Yeah, I mean... They should tell at least if they change something or just leave as it is... Thats all.
I find it weird, not to communicate such things.
-
This is indeed silence as heck.
23 hours away from a new chapter goes live and literally not a single dev log after ptb started. It's kinda weird, I don't remember something like that in previous ptbs.

August 29 is not Monday. It's Tuesday. 😝

On EU - Evening: 100% for killers all the time. It means there is not enough killers.
-
Btw guys, if you were paying attention on Nightlight site - Overall kill rate by killers decreased and keep decreasing month by month after chapter 28: End of transmission.
Only 2 killers has increased with killrates tho - Sadako and SM. They have the top killrates there.

According to nightlight, more people play Singularity than Wesker.
Actually no.=)
At the moment - On Nightlight - Singularity have 3% pickrate which is average.
Wesker have 8% which is 4% higher than average and 2% higher than the next after him (Huntress 6%)
And you know what... I agree. xD
I do see Wesker A LOT, but singularity less and less.

It's such a shame since his power is very unique and he is cool and could be fun to play if your power wouldn't be in Survivors hands. Every chase againts decent Survivors will lead you to lose your power mid chase X times, sometimes in row too, leading to big frustraition.
How fun is, put camera in good angele, jump in, try to shot the Survivor, go back, try to chase them again, aha EMP, okay, put camera in good angele, jump in, try to shot the Survivor, go back, try to chase them again, aha EMP, okay , put camera in good angele, jump in, try to shot the Survivor, go back, try to chase them again, aha EMP, okay , put camera in good angele, jump in, try to shot the Survivor, go back, try to chase them again, aha EMP, okay, etc.
It's not fun. The counterplay to him is just too easy and too strong for me to enjoy the Killer. You have to be aware and tryhard every match with him for Survivors just pick up fully printed EMPs and delete all your progress you just made.
Don't completely give up on him tho, I'm certain they're gonna change\buff him. No one has seen his official stats yet, but I'm sure that he's underperforming any expectations.
Just patiently waiting for buffs\new perks. We'll see...

At this point the game sucks for both sides so much it manages to basically balances itself 🤷♂️
I think it sucks only because of a "Play for win" mentality. If you put the "winning" aspect aside, this game is pretty enjoyable.
If everyone would've care only about chases, instead of "genrushing\tunneling\camping", the game will be on a much better possition.=)
Competitive is a thing, that gonna ruin this game, I'm rooting for Casual and fun.
-
The thing that I don't understand is that, why we can't see a killer's ping in numbers?
We can see survivors ping individually but we can't see a killer's ping, why? Makes no sence.
Btw, sometimes when I play a game it shows me the red icon like I'm hardcore lagging (200+), I'm pressing esc and I have 80 ping.
Why does it show that red "ping" icon? Who knows...
-
Oh boy.. I'm not gonna google it
-
I've had the same issue with spending bp's on singularity. xD
Rng was just giving me everything aside from what I was actually using.
-
I'll remove map offerings.

With animations, music, and how they look you say...
Sadako.Xenomorph.

As much as some FNAF fans wishing there was a "Fnaf chapter"... This type of chapter will be a complete cringe to me.
Like no offence, but this will be an extremely cringy chapter, sorry for Fnaf fans, but I wish they will not release one.
Even if it's going to be a good chapter with good perks and etc... Just don't do that.=)

After long time, NOED is again rising in popularity and I am also thinking about running it more offten.
Why you may ask?
Because of MFT + Hope + Adrenaline is meta. That's why. It is the only somewhat soft counter Killers can bring. However Survivors still have better meta than one strong late game perk that can be prevented (unlike Survivors perks) ahead and also can be cleansed and it will reveal itself. NOED is still way more balanced than MFT + Hope.
You're completely right. MFT+hope I see almost in every match of mine. xD
End-game survivor perks should be countered by A-S tier killers.
Or lower tier killers with end-game perks as well.
I don't see any issues with that.
-
@Blueberry said:
I would rather see hook rates than kill rates as they’re flawed for a multitude of reasons but they still would be fun to have nonetheless I agree.
But can they do that?
Like... How many hooks per match as each killer? Do they have stats for hooks as well?
-
I get the thing that chase part is from the movie...
But it's still bad. It doesn't matter from where it's going - it sounds BAD!
I hope they change the exact chase part, I'm ok with the rest.
-
Wesker is going to be better due to high mobility.
In terms of chase - both are on a same spot for me.
Both are really good killers.
-
They can make changes even based on numbers.
I'm 100% sure, that this killer is underperforming.
-
I don't find this annoying in any way. I don't know.
I think I just got used to this a long time ago, so it's just became a casual thing to me.=)
-
Even after 2 nerfs to emps, it took me a good 50-60 games to realise how weak he actually is, even if you tryharding your best, and actually sweating. xD
He's power on a paper sounds really insane and op, imagine a killer who can shorten distance, probably perma vaults at +75%, have spirit fury, breaking walls, generators and pallets at +75% faster paste...
In reality, even without using emps against him, each teleport is a 50-50 scenario. Predropping every pallet and rng is a strong counter to his power even without emps.
If you're not using addon on +5% MS durring the overclock - you're basically an M1 killer who can just shorten the distance in between.
He's power is Nice, but it's not THAT STRONG, to be completely destroyed by 1 emp.
Emps should not counter his power completely - it seems like a total bs.
His power needs a QOL - it's frustrating, wobbly, completely uncomfortable sometimes, ruthless in indoor maps.
You have to sweat your balls off (sorry my language) just to do ok-ish, you have to do so much things at once, and it still doesn't pay off.
And because of that - he's very exhausting to play as. I'm 100% sure this is the main reason why nobody wants to play singularity.
P.s. I wanna try him by using that 1 new Xeno perk Rapid Brutality + his 5%ms addon. Maybe it will bump his strength a bunch.
-
@JustAnotherNewbie said:
I wonder what prompted this change? In indoor maps they could be very chaotic due to going everywhere, so maybe now they'll be easier to keep track off?
I'm afraid - otherwise.=)
Since they're gonna be more dim and disappear faster than before, also I can't see the diff in spreading... So they are gonna be still chaotic.

I never imagined that this could happen but here we are. I never expected that this community managed to stoop this low, lower than the filthy toilets in the suburb slums.
There were 2 megs and a nea with flashlights, toolboxes and meta perks, and brought Eyrie of Crows and petrified oak offerings, then there was me playing solo survivor as Bill just chilling. We were against a new player, Trapper, completely fresh with only 20 minutes playtime in his belt. He barely knew about anything, he explained. He only played the tutorial once as survivor and killer, he only knew the some of the basics and that's it. (There is more talk about this at the end). He only had 2 yellow perks; agitation and brutal strength, not even using addons. So these 2 megs were P58 and P100, and the Nea was P70. Obviously, what was going to happen is me the only survivor doing generators and these 3 were bullying the living hell out of Trapper. From flashlight clicking to teabagging, to baiting and looping, to disarming his traps. They knew he was a new player just by observing the way the Trapper plays and what did they do? They became the biggest ######### possible and make his match a living hell. I done all the generators by myself but I can't feel nothing but bad for Trapper so I gave him the kill.
What makes me even more angry wasn't the fact that they were teabagging at exit gate or all that, but talking ######### in end game chat, saying the most offensive slurs you could imagine to a new player. What is wrong with them in the first place? I sent him a friend request and told him GGs ignore these buffoons. You're still learning. He told me about how he started the game a few minutes ago and it's his first time playing Trapper he doesn't want to play anymore because of them. How is this SBMM not working correctly and why are people like this?
Now, I can't imagine what killers have to endure, but I'm not pointing my finger to one side over another because there are bad apples at killer side too but this is just maddening. I understand why there are fewer new players staying in Dead by Daylight. The community is beyond toxic, and I hate to use the word 'toxic' since it's overused but that's unfortunately the truth. I think it's even worse than League of Legends or Rainbow Six: Siege playerbase.
The only thing I can say is that... It was unfortunate first expirience. Should've just say him that it's not happening all the time.=)
And it will get harder to do for them, when killer gets more expirienced.=)
-
Yes, I do.
If my eyes getting blurry because I can't turn off a strong antialiasing - I'm pretty sure I can do that.
Also if a player struggle to see in the game because it's too dark or colorless, it just gonna hurt the eyes, so I'm pretty sure I can put a filter on it, just so I don't hurt my eyes by the end of a session.
-
@Nirgendwohin Also - I can't do that in my matches as a killer. I was hitting the window even upclose to survivor!

Hmm... If killer was not lagging (high ping)... It's probably because... You were playing a female survivor.=)
(I'm not sexist! There were\still a bug when Male characters were vaulting much further)
I think further vaults were intended for both male and female characters...
Altho this one on your screen looked like it was due to high ping (you or killer)

New vaults were stupid, ngl.

This perk will be a meta for any M1 killers from there I suppose. And I'm not having any issues with that.
Where did I say ANYTHING about this perk should stack with bloodlust?! I can't see that, please show me.
Look at the perk again:
Rapid Brutality:
- You no longer gain Bloodlust status effect.
- Successfully hitting a Survivor with a basic attack grants 5% haste for 8/9/10 seconds.
The only thing I said - Remove the first part of this perk in order to this perk actually be good on every M1 killer. Because without bloodlust on some killers you will only become weaker, if you know how some loops are being insanely safe for survivors.
As much as I hate bloodlust and want it to be removed, I can't deny that some killers literally need it because of some insanely safe tiles and connected stuff (rng) works.

You mean a pallet you can avoid breaking, or the M1 you probably won’t whiff if you’re moving 3x faster than the survivor b/c you’ve got Rapid Brutality and Bloodlust? Lol.
Rapid Brutality cannot work with Bloodlust at the same time by ANY MEANS!
To activate the perk you have to hit - which means you losing any bloodlust,
The perk is working only for 10 sec, and bloodlust only activates from 15 sec.
I've no clue how you think Bloodlust and rapid brutality can work at the same time bruh...

But you said remove the Bloodlust drawback. So you’d be moving faster than 5%. It only takes 15 seconds to gain Bloodlust 1 and that’s a 150% bonus to your base speed, which would be increased already by Rapid Brutality. I dunno what the rest of your post means.
Ahhh... "Why would I move faster than 5%?"
Bloodlust is being removed after you pressed M1 or brake a pallet, you know that?=)

Can you imagine? You’re already faster than survivors, but with the perk you gain +5 haste and Bloodlust. Pair it with Coup… It’d be like your Bubba except faster. No survivors could avoid your hits.
Nah, if you as a survivor moving 3% faster, you'll barelly see the diff if a killer will move 5% faster for 10 sec.
Also, I remember survivors asked me "3% is a problem?" Good thing I will be able to ask in return then.=)
5% for 10 sec is a problem?
-
@MrsGhostface If you think about it, you can't actually do something about it without punishing killers.
If the killer wants 4k, you just have to "gulp" it up and bare with it till the end. Basekit unbreakable for last 2 survivors is a nono, we've talked about it long ago.
Punishing killer for that will be an insanely bad choice.
They need to encourage killers to hook 3-rd survivor by giving them some sort of goodies. Like... If you killed 3 people and last one gone through hatch - you'll still get the reward as same as 4k.
This will means that... There is 0 reason to slug for a 4k, you already won the max ammount anyway.
