Camping and tunneling is just an alternative form of applying pressure. The reason why some survivors get upset because of these is they need to adapt mid-game to this kind of play, yet many choose to just sit on gens or do their standard stuff, expecting a generic game where killer settles up for few hooks and all 4 end up escaping.

The 60% plus kill-rate is still the same. You can keep an excel spreadsheet and see it is.
Also, SBMM is programmed to keep a 60% kill-rate. Nerfs and buffs don't affect something programmed into the games match-making system.
Saiph is correct.
If this SBMM feeds me potatoes in 5 matches out of 10, then odds are I will get those 60% or higher overall kill rates because in those 5 matches I will very likely get 3 or 4k and in other 5 matches I will get at least 1k. Does that all seem fair and balanced to you?

You literally ignored the official kill rates shared by the devs. Then you ignored streamer gameplay which show the same killrates and ridiculous winstreaks, while it's clear that these streamers struggle much harder to do the same thing as survivor. Then when I proposed to share my own winstreaks on killer you also ignored that, and now conclude with a message of pure ad hominem.
Who is the flat earther here?
I already explained in previous posts why those numbers are pretty much bloated to 60%.
I also explained how some people may be getting on win streaks.
Perhaps you should re-evaluate your points once again and maybe rewatch some of those streams and analyze how people have played there.

Gotta love how killer is easy because streamer xyz with 5k-10k hours gets a 3k,4k. Yes let’s all quit our jobs stop living our lives and play dbd all day long to prove your point. I have less then 1k hours and go up against 3k-5k hours nearly every game. So you’re tellling me that’s fair as someone casually playing the game. Very flawed logic
It's pretty much one of two main arguments that Survivor mains or low MMR killer players use along with ''official'' kill rate chart numbers. They don't consider any secondary factors, including location zone, time zone and basic human factor. Trying to maintain the debate against such argument is extremely tedious process, on par to trying to convince the flat earth believer what the real shape our planet does have.

I think you get it now if you hit survivors, and all survivors receive condemn when even one is hooked.
Yes, which makes her essentially an M1 killer who has to tunnel if she wants to condemn anyone ever at all. The tapes essentially protect survivors from condemnation via TP and can be used to reduce accumulated stacks in no time.
-
@Ayodam said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3471694#Comment_3471694
Well yes, that’s exactly what they would do. Because why wouldn’t they? It’s a no brainer. Seems like a justified countermeasure.
They also made it impossible to apply any condemnation via TP if survivor has a tape, which most survivors will do anyways so it's 15 sec on TP cooldown. That's nothing but a nerf to global presence this killer could have.
-
Why people still refuse to see that this is going to nerf this killer to the ground and reward the tunneling / slugging type of gameplay for her? Everyone will be running around with tapes so no condemnation will be applied to them via TP, while Sadako will have 4 less TVs to tp too. Additionally with 15 seconds cooldown, she likely won't be able to pressure anyone via TP as well as scout around, which means she will have reduced global navigation.
The only real way for her to gain the condemnation will be focusing one survivor asap, which will result into 3 stacks ( probably 4 if survivor has endurance ) and 1 stack to other survivors. Upon being unhooked, the survivor with 3 or 4 stacks will simply run to the nearest TV, take tape and deposit it to another nearest TV, getting rid of those accumulated stacks unless Sadako will decide to tunnel that survivor so more stacks can be acquired.

What is your point? apparently the whole survivor playerbase is so bad at the game, and yet killers need to be buffed even more? How easy do you want this game to be? We are already talking of players getting HUNDREDS of wins in a row.
You are correct, 60% is an average. Personally when I play killer I win 80% or more, which is still pretty mediocre compared to what I see on Twitch (including survivor streamers who are so bad at the game but weirdly enough when they play killer to warmup suddenly they 4k every game).
The first time I played Nurse, I won 46 games in a row. Then I posted the VODs here to show that balance is a joke, and the first reply I got was a PH main saying how bad I was for getting only 46 wins because he got 100+.
My point is that there's no sense in bringing killer kill rate or win streak as an argument for balance when there are so many factors that can contribute to those numbers yet are completely ignored.
I don't know what kind of streamers you do watch that 4k every game. Must be some gifted pro players out there. The ones I used to watch would get from 0k to 4k and 0e to 4e respectively during the course of the entire stream session.

If I'm running perkless I expect to have a hard game that's why I do it.
So you're saying playing survivor is now easier than playing killer? No offense but if you consider playing solo queue survivor easier than killer then it might be skill issue. You can literally watch multiple people streaming killer that run random fun builds and non meta killers that barely ever lose.
I don't know what kind of survivors you get when you play, but the ones I do when I play as a killer don't mess around doing random stuff and do play efficiently most of the time, leaving me little room for a mistake. Meanwhile when I play as survivor if killer doesn't try to tunnel someone one out asap or camp I escape matches without too much trouble.
What streamers do don't concern or interest me because the players they get are closer to their physical location and the ones I get are closer to mine. This means my experience can be absolutely different compared to theirs. What I can say for certain is I clearly have much more relaxed and enjoyable experience as survivor than as killer now when in past it was completely opposite.

Funny, because last year I was quoting killrates of 50% and people like you were telling me "there's no way the killrates are that high, these stats are outdated". Then the official killrates were revealed and were at 60%, lol.
But keep being delusional I guess... There are dozens of streamers routinely getting 10+ or even 100+ winstreaks, one Blight player is at 1000+ right now. How weird they never face the OP survivors you guys keep complaining about on these forums. How weird that when these streamers switch to survivor, they suddenly get spanked by killers who have 1/50th of their hours, how weird, almost like killer is ez mode.
Potato or chill streamers, people who suicide on hook for whatever reason, trolls, people who refuse to do totems and die to noed, people who are left to die by griefers and so on.
You still do wonder how the kill rate is 60% on average?

But it affects the entire map meaning you need 2 or 3 more tp to Condemn surivors but it's impossible to avoid it unless your holding a tape
holding a tape and getting hit means you get a stack of Condemned And if you hook a surivor with a tape everyone gets a stack of Condemned
The only nerf is the 15s timer on tp
Everyone will be holding tapes. At the start of the match 4 tvs will be blocked ( assuming they do get turned off when the tape is taken out, right? ) so the attempt to apply condemnation via TP will be nulled.
Sadako will fully turn into Wraith 0.5 with these changes as she will require aura reading perks in order to get the value from 15 seconds cd TP and hit survivors with melee so condemnation stacks do get applied. If she doesn't commit and switch target, then survivor will just deposit the tape to nearest tv and go pick another tape. Hence we get the cycle restarted.

I mean I can play non meta killers with what I would class as non meta perks and still dominate matches on a pretty regular basis so I don't think that's entirely true. I've been playing for a fairly long time without using gen regression perks now so that might have something to do with it. I quite often run only lethal pursuer as a way of practicing using only a killers power and even win pretty regular using only that.
Game may throw you bunch of potatoes that you can go against perkless if you want but don't let that confuse you. When it's a match with decent survivors, you will quickly notice how much effort you need to put in order to stay in the game. Survivor experience compared to this is walk in the park, regardless of the outcome.
-
Give killers incentive to not tunnel. Then you can punish them for tunneling. Right now killers have no reason not to tunnel other than be a good sports and switch target, especially if they get their first down very early at the game.
-
Shsh, let some people still believe it's a buff.
-
@Ayodam said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3471646#Comment_3471646
Is that new? Before you could only take a tape to a specific TV, usually on the opposite side of the map
It's the part of the upcoming changes.
Devs believe Sadako players will just spam TP and try to build up condemnation since it will become global and to combat it, they will grant survivors ability to take any tape and deliver to nearest tv. In reality, this will mean that Sadako will be losing stacks very quickly and very often while will build up stacks quickly only if she will focus one survivor and consider tunneling someone out.
-
Most impactful changes are Remember Me ( Endgame perk ), Hex Crowd Control ( Chase perk, but is still a hex ) and Train of Torment ( Chase perk ). The rest feel meh and situational.
Doesn't feel like much of the buff tbh, just bunch of not-so-popular perks getting some tweaks here and there.
-
Yes. Doubt it will suddenly wipe your progress though.

Im a killer main, and yes, the game does become killer sided when a survivor disconnects.
But come on dude, i dont want to fight 2 bots and get hit with a DC penalty after the last human survivor remaining kills himself on hook.
I dont want the stupid bloodpoints, the EXP or anything. I want to PvP. If i wanted a PvE game, I'd play custom.
I think when a survivor becomes a bot, the killer should not have a DC penalty anymore. I dont want to fight a stupid computer just because some jackass decided to leave the game.
They could make the match end if there are no human players left anymore.
As long as there is at least 1 survivor human player, it's still PvP, just like you want it to be.
-
Survivors can deliver any tape to any tv.
Sure Sadako can try to spam TP over and over, but I'm more than sure survivors will just deliver a tape to nearest TV and get those stacks off in no time. If anything, she will become annoying to play against compared to what she is now.
-
I wonder how much of condemn gets removed when survivor delivers the tape to recorder.
If it is going to take off 4 stacks, then be sure you probably won't be getting people condemned unless you manage to catch someone with a tape and with at least 3 stacks of condemnation. With any recorder being usable, this means whatever you've managed to accumulate will be instantly removed by everyone.
Also you will now need aura reading perks, like Discordance if you intend to use TV for teleportation or you might end up teleporting to a TV that has no survivor nearby and is on the other side of the map.
Probably with some good addons it can become oppressive but on average, I feel like this will only introduce more tunneling as the changes introduced here do promote such playstyle ( ability to ambush better and make survivors get stacks from hits ).

First one needs 700k, currently it's at 686k. They didn't even adjust it to have it finally be finished. They should've also adjusted the emblem requirements to silver so it's more doable.
The last one for unbroken/devout I really see being a slog to get done even though it's now 75k. For every 1 gold emblem a killer contributes that's 3-4 survivors not being able to contribute to the challenge. It's a really bad challenge for the community when it has the community working against eachother to complete it.
We also have PTB with Nic Cage starting in couple days so that will be portion of the playerbase not even playing on live servers to contribute towards the challenges.
Basically if community wants these challenges done, it's best to let survivors contribute to it more, thus play super chill and let them do their stuff while do little to nothing as killer and just farm BPs with cakes.
-
@Steel_Eyed said:
I guess we should keep in mind that the event still has a full week and a half remaining.
Unfortunately that's clearly not enough time for the challenges.
We will be lucky if at least one charm gets unlock since the progression for first challenge is so slow and then there's the next task demanding 700k emblems. I have a strong feeling those community challenges will fail, which is pity as there are people who would want to get those charms but physically can't do that on their own no matter what.
-
You forgot the tasks that previous Community Challenges did consist of? Very likely it continues to track your actions even when you have your personally required amount completed.

"Technically it's fair as it does punish survivors who only concentrated on gens and didn't do anything else,"
Well that is a survivors objective. Why should you be punished for doing it?
Because everyone can go full rat and sit on gens without doing anything else.
This goes both ways as if killer just slugs everyone from minute 1 at 5 gens.
-
@Emeal said:
this would also mean, you could fool around all game and annoy the Killer and other survivors and still get 2mill free bps at end of month
Kinda true.
At least it motivates players do different stuff and not just try to cheese through the match, be it hiding for 5 gens or tunneling and camping everyone.
-
It's there to motivate survivors interact with each other and killer.
Technically it's fair as it does punish survivors who only concentrated on gens and didn't do anything else, as well as if one survivor kept killer occupied for 4 or 5 gens but did nothing else.
To prevent that, some other action should be done, which includes healing, unhooking, taking protection hits, cleansing totems. Without them, it's very likely you will end up depiped.
-
Sometimes you depip no matter what. Especially if your team mates just gen rushed the killer or you had no chance to do co-op action at all.
The best bet to pip at all as survivor is to concentrate on healing and unhooking. These actions are relatively simple to perform and guarantee that you will at least get +0 if you do them often enough. For +1, just do a gen a bit and stay within killer radius, maybe escape a chase or two by looping at some safe area on top of healing and unhooking. In some rare cases, you may even intentionally put yourself to a risk if it guarantees some extra activity afterwards.
-
Killers are not allowed to play casually with fun builds most of time, hence why it's either sweat from a start or be the clown of the party. All these meta shifting changes made killer experience like that.
-
It's clearly not a ping thing.
Better pre-drop pallets as the hit detection can be absurd against certain killers.
-
Solo Q is quite playable, but amount of monkeys and suiciders is way too high to be enjoyable experience. It boils down to luck this days.
-
It's once in a match so I guess it won't have enough impact.
-
Need 3 instead of 1.
Do it twice more and then it should count.
-
Why you blame campers when their first hook happens after 2 or 3 gens chase and their second hook results into 1 gen left?
People simply don't want to sweat as killer anymore and resort to quick and cheap moves. Hence why so much tunneling and camping.

Giving up is not happening that much. At least for me. I can't talk for your mmr ofcourse.
Giving up happens far more often than you may think.
For me, that happens when I play as survivor or killer. In both cases it's because someone got a bad start or they fail to do their quest. It's certainly not MMR related.

And this will open chance for killers who is not performing well. A lot killers are not getting buffs because their kill rates boosted by camping & tunnelling.
Just Trapper for example, devs said they are not gonna buff him because he is good, even at high mmr. But on my games, Trappers are usually getting kills by tunnelling and camping.
We need better gameplay for both sides and for that, we need to kill some unhealthy plays.
Kill rates are boosted not by camping or tunnelling but by survivors being clowns who refuse to play or intentionally give up. So far I don't see any solution to this problem being suggested, other than more harsh penalties to such survivors.

Even without your ludicrous standards, there were STILL Killer buffs.
It's untrue because you said so. Noted.
There were buffs and nerfs at the same time. Time has proven that those buffs don't outweigh the nerfs that come along with them. In case you wonder what I'm talking about here, it's gen regression perk changes and general gen regression changes.
Once again, this is a PH debate. Please try at least stay on topic.

Because EMP is an item and doesn't take the existing item's slot. Solo Q pubbers love free stuff so there's always a chance someone is carrying an EMP with them.
-
He is purely for chase and good for slugging.
Try to emphasize your play around these traits.
Apparently trying to control gens with his pods is not the best idea as those pods will very likely get disabled asap. Putting them into wide areas can work but currently his lock-on is not reliable enough so it's 50 - 50 thing.

You know mate, that's the only way to use his trail currently. Put in in chase and hope you can force survivor walk over it which most of the time you can not. That is the reason why such buff was even considered in the first place.

I brought it up because saying this pyramid head buff was needed and eruption being fair are basically linked to what type of takes you have. He needs buffs to his trash addon sets and his own perks. He is great basekit. Even something where he moves faster walking over his trails would be fine but the buff he was intended to get was way to much
Those are too different topics. This topic is about PH and the reverted and unreleased buff.
I'm not the one to judge which addons of his require changes, but I can say that the unreleased buff would make his cage mechanic more reliable if devs could address the camping problem. They couldn't and the change was scrapped.

Uh, yeah, those ARE Killer buffs. When they nerfed Marvin's Blood on Nemi, you're saying that wasn't a huge Nemesis nerf? Okay, cool. So it wouldn't be a Blight nerf if we deleted all of his add-ons. This is an incredibly foolish line of thought.
Even still.
Ghostface got buffed. Singularity got buffed from the PTB.
Like, jesus, at least try to seem unbiased.
I and plenty of other people don't use those perks. So what now?
A killer buff is a buff everyone does use. It's that simple.
Ghostface needed the buff because of his wonky power. He is also an M1 killer and many M1 killers are in a tight spot right now.

It just proves Pyramid Head has a steep learning curve, which isn’t a bad thing. He’s still very strong against good survivors in the right hands.
It's not about learning curve. His trail of torment is too easy to dodge and can not be applied near gens and hooks. Plenty of time it gets completely avoided which renders entire cage mechanic very unreliable.

Because his condemn mechanic is tricky to trigger against decent survivors.
