  • Casually playing since 2018 for around 2-3 years total (took breaks from the game) I got almost all survivors and killers to level 50 (missing 2 killers and 5 survivors) and p3 ace for ps platinum in like... a month ? (thanks to bp offerrings, archive challenges and Lunar New Year event)

  • Maybe fear of change ?

I think long term the menu change will be an improvement.

  • Awww hella nah boi, what the hell boi.

    Bug after bug.

I'm no expert, but at this point why can't they just focus mostly on quality of life and bugfixes, instead of providing new content on time.

  • @Pulsar said:

Legion's not OP in any way but he is really awful to play against

Not as awful as twins on "high mmr"

  • Oh yeah, the killer part is fine aswell.

I noticed the bug on survivor and didn't think to double check for killer

  • With undying you still see auras around normal totems, no ?

But why they remove the notification when someone touches your totem with thrill of the hunt ? I mean if the choice was either longer cleanse time or notifications, notifications would be a tad better in my opinion.

  • Honestly true. I find myself buying survivor perks from the shrine more often than survivors themselfs because of that.

  • Alternatively self care, because the consumption rate when selfhealing with medkits is better than with streetwise.

  • Well small game shouldn't get stacks for cleansing rekindled totems...

Just another mishap in behaviour's programming

  • As or against ? Well as ghostface because his stealth is better than Micheal's in my opinion and the ability to distribute exposed and activate it whenever you want is quite good.

Against definitly myers. He feels more threatening than ghostface, but also I know when I f up and gave him stalk/a hit. And the music man <3

(Idk the "fixed" ghotsface basicaly means you need to see his whole body to reveal him, so instead of looking at him you need to run away/hide from his sight if you spot him stalking you from behind something. Just feels really hard to reveal him now.)

  • You say that, but two times today already I had the challenge equipped and could only interact with my own green glyph (as in I randomly found one during the game and couldn't do anything and then found a diffrent one and could seal it no problem)

  • Not dead hard, meta perks in general.

And sadly the meta is stale and unfun. (That being said if every killer would start using sloppy/blood echo and thanatophobia, autodidact + empathy maybe, would be the meta. Isn't that crazy ?)

  • I mean I'm with the majority here. You are gonna down the survivor (or atleast injure and start chasing) anyway, so might as well let them get a glyph.

But man, I've seen a few survivors by now thinking they can just do their archive (glyphs, opening chests) when the killer is near them chasing someone. Every time they got grabbed off xd (not by me, just seen randomly in game).

Eh, maybe they were newer players, or somethin. for thinking they can get away with it. But yknow, it was at the start of the game usually, so In the end I think they got their challenges

  • I don't even think it's a good idea or possible rn to just "combine perks".

I mean making combos with perks is nice, that's the whole point of making "builds". But if perks belong to 2 diffrent characters ? Yeah not possible really. One character would get a better perk, and the other character would need to be made a new perk completly.

But don't worry, grind reduction is in the making.

GF is a killer that is stuck in the 90s. We just had a new Scream movie where they use technology to their advantage.

    1. Add cameras to the map at fixed locations. These cameras are stationary and have a fixed view.
      1. Survivors who are in view of the camera trigger a notification at the camera. The notification takes 1 second to go off. Additionally, the camera will give an audible noise to alert the survivor they are in view. There can be addons that affect the camera.
      2. GF has the ability to take control of the camera so that they are able to move the camera across a wider angle and stalk survivors who are in view.
      3. Survivors can disable the camera for several seconds with a flash light or similar. This will disable that camera for several seconds.
      4. Now GF has map wide pressure being able to stalk without having to physically establish a LoS. Also, they can stalk without being spotted from behind a wall.
    2. Hitting a survivor will no longer reset stalk.
      1. Stalk is still reset upon downs.
      2. Resetting the stalk is archaic at this point. With the buff to the exposed effect stalking can be used mid chase when the survivor is injured to give GF undetectable thus increasing the utility of their power.
    3. GF should reset their power upon hook.
      1. This tends to happen naturally anyway because of the time it takes to pick up the survivor, carry them, hook them, and then walk out of LoS.
      2. Just make it a passive as a baseline and emphasize hooking survivors over slugging.
    4. Change some of the addons that are still garbage.
      1. For instance, Knife Belt Clip reduces terror radius by 8m when crouching. This is garbage.
      2. Instead, change it so that survivors who reveal ghost face are blinded for 40 seconds.
    5. Buff the perks.
      1. Remove the cooldown on thrilling tremors.
      2. Have it apply only the first time you pick up a survivor and reset upon hook so GF can't just drop the survivor repeatedly to keep the gens blocked.
      3. Reduce the cooldown on I'm All Ears to 20 seconds.
      4. Furitive Chase is kinda cool but needs a buff. Make it so that it also hides your red stain for the first 3/6/9/12 seconds in a chase depending on token count.
      5. This synergies well with GF's power of being an ambush one shot killer.

There are so many more things that can be done. GF just still sucks and its really sad. Maybe GF could interact with lockers, like stalking survivors from them and popping out of them. In the movies GF is scary cause they could be anywhere! In game, we don't really have that and GF just walks around everywhere like a peon.

I imagine that when ghostface was checking the cameras, he would act like charllotte. Maybe survivors could kick him in the shins like victor to bring him out of surveilence mode and stun him for a few seconds.

  • Sbmm is still active, they just adjusted some numbers so players on both ends have more varied teams/ experience and quicker ques.

If you have a need to escape, just find a buddy, not even a full team. There are tons of discord servers just for that.

  • Bro, all stealth killers suffer from swf (well, maybe not wraith with add-ons).

The add-on overhaul is great tho. I hope it becomes a trend (as in overhauling add-ons)

  • I'd say bubba and Trickster (since recent posts I've seen and experience I had, even tho I don't go against him that often)

With bubba you need to be wary not to bump into stuff, but yeah. Just charge chainsaw, use chainsaw, survivior gets downed instead of just injured.

I know Trickster is a bit slower than a reglar killer, but simplicity still applies. Throw knife at survivor, survivor gets down, reload knife if used up. And occasionally hit button for infinite knife. With huntress you need to charge the hatchet and know it's hitbox. But the knifes ? Just chug em in the general direction and u good.

Sorry I should have specified more with the exact troll when it came to the killers. I'm mainly talking about the ones that down you but don't hook you and just leave you there. Last game I played it was the pig guy and they just stood near me the whole time as I was the last alive but down. As for survivors I played a game where I'm 100% they were talking with the killer and saying exactly where me and my friend were. You'd have to have been in the game but I'm sure you'd agree with me (unfortunately don't have the footage anymore)

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2920799#Comment_2920799

Slugging and working with the killer huh ?

Well same applies. I think it takes 4 minutes to bleed out ? And then if the survivors let the killer to you and he hooks you just ######### on the hook.

But, if they just stall the game to troll (like idk, the killer bodyblocks you and other survivors refuse to do gens) then yeah, there should not be a penalty for dcing because of that.

But, the game can't tell why you dc, just that you did. In the scenario I said it will still be faster than waiting who know how long till the trolls get tired of stalling the game. You can just dc and report them in hopes they will get banned from a lot of people reporting them.

If you need to wait those 4 minutes bleeding out, take a short break or hop on your phone, it will pass the time faster. Luckly this doesn't happen every game.... right ?

Ps: But yeah, it is unfair.

I’ve been playing since it released on console in 2018

    Dude saaame.

  • I personally didn't not have a lot of experience with trolls (only survivors meming when they are on death hook), but generally if it's a troll that helps a killer, just die on hook on purpose.

If it's a farmer just do gens as quickly and escape.

Both should take you less time than the dc penalty.

  • Nooooo, that will increase que time and split the playerbase !!!

Jokes aside, swf is not that big of a deal. If you get a bully squad with Ds, Dh, Bt then..... I'm sorry for you.

But it's not every game, and most of the time swf don't capitalize on information very well (can tell from my own swf experience xd)

  • May be that:

His power is harder to dodge than huntresses.

You can't bodyblock his power (it will just help him build Main Event faster and mow you like a lawn mower)

That's... all i could think of. In fewer words Trickster is a more boring and harder to counter huntress.

(I guess getting injured by his power feels bs rather than being shot by a hatchet or the deathslinger's harpoon, because with hatches and harpoons you are like "nice throw" or " I could've dodged that". But with Trickster it's just Ughhhhhh sound effect.)

  • No perks, add-ons, items, decreased pov atleast (or first person), would be interesting.

  • If they just adjust the time when switching between Victor and Charllote as the new tome hits, Twins will be already more bearable to play as.

  • A bit agressive but I agree with this statement

But the issue is with the current game is balance, if you told me you was removing the distance from DH I'd probably actually be into playing killer more, currently I dont play killer much because it's all the same meta, and this meta hurts the weaker killers more. Same as survivor, I'm bored because I only see 2 killers 90%+ of the time.

Other games work because it's not a non symmetrical game, you have to think DBD actually has multiple game modes already as it has KYF(custom game), survivor and killer. In other games let's say overwatch, your character is the same but the objective changes, DBD roles are different so if you was to actually add another game mode you're splitting it into 4 modes

    • Classic DBD survivor
    • Classic DBD killer
    • Game mode 2 survivor
    • Game mode 2 killer

Etc. So you can see it would drastically split the playerbase, not to mention its 4:1 ratio and that killer ratio is far smaller than it should be

    Yeah... I agree.

  • Can't you adjust your gamma on tv ? Or brightness.

I mean its a chore, but its possible. I think.

  • @EntitySpawn said:

Which category do really good players that want to have fun fall into?

I'm assuming youd say ranked just because they're skillful right? Doesnt seem fair...

    1. You dont want to split the playerbase.

    2. You will always have better and worse players, there will never be a balance especially when you try balance for all levels.

I mean there will still be tryhards in casual, but they couldn't use tryhard perks.

But yeah, no I get it. "Dividing" the playerbase isn't a good idea. I thought other games have it, why can't dbd ? I guess the size of the playerbase doesn't allow that and players are already divided into survivor, killer, kill you friends (custom lobby); If you think about it.

  • I guess the playerbase is not big enough to "divide".

I still think a new gamemode would fresh things out. I mean side objectives from events alredy do, but they are so time limited (I mean I know that's the point, but :(. )

Ps: Maybe once some core issues are fixed there will be time to code and think of a new gamemode

  • I mean.... that could work ? Like Balanced Landing, good but not on every map.

Maybe keep the wiggle sway when exhausted, but reduce it to 50 % ?

  • Well shoot, they already reworked her in the past.

I mean the counterplay for nurse is still the same. Predict her predictions and make her guess (run indoors, lose sight against her).

Not much more can or needs to be done I feel. (Well, maybe nerf some add-ons)

  • @ThatOneDemoPlayer said:

Go in 1 direction, then go the opposite.

    Boom, BBQ and IM countered

    Trueee.

Idk why I keep forgetting that.

Maybe because not a lot of Bbq, iron maiden :/

  • The game used to be way more unbalanced, so idk what you think "great again" would mean.

Development and programming is hard ? And maybe some changes ppl want are not good for the game overall. Even if they decided to do something about somethings they still need time to actually make those changes.

    Anyways.

  • I mean there is a counter of your total hooks above the gen count. Atleast that.

  • Every killer is viable, yes.

Every perk can also be viable.

But it's the amount of value and consistency of it that differs.

In case of killers, some (if not most) are more map/add-on/perk dependant than others.

Tunnelling is not a skill issue. It is, sometimes, the best strategy because of how the game operates. The game just becomes easier and less stressfull when it's a 3v1. It's not "hur dur he's bad". Atleast not always.

    True.

  • Good efforts !

Honestly with them changing Legion and Ghostface Idk why they can't touch on (atleast) Freddy's add-ons (or PyramidHead's, I think he's second most wanted one when the topic is brought up)

Yes, I am a relly skilled killer for hitting a survivor agin after I waited two meeters away until they were unhooked. Those funny survivors thought they could play a fair match without borroedd time or decieve striek. And when they have those I like to wait 12 second to hit them and then a minit to pick up

I also just passded the third grade and think I am a pritty good DbD player!

I'm sorry, are you mocking me or just joking around ?

I said it's a skill issue as in the killer that needs to tunnel is not good at the game.

But yeah, sadly not a lot of ways to prevent tunnelling, just: Bt, For the People, Flashlight saves, Bodyblocking, Decisive Strike, Sabotaging hooks. (Not mocking, just listed everything I could think of)

  • "I slugges you because":

    You were hella toxic

There are people around and I don't want to give them an easy save

    I need to make pressure.

    I'm an #########

    I'm playing The Twins

(All of the above, seperatly or combined. Are there any other reasons I didn't think of ?)

  • Fair man.

I guess I'm just the lucky few and don't play the game daily enough to encounter much tunnelling, camping, hackers etc.

That's why I still like playing this game.

Apex and Valorant are some good games you choose to play again.

  • ooor try playing with people and meme around ? As in perk builds and such.

Civilization might be on sale, could check that out.

  • This sparks joy. (As in they might buff her and not just abondning her)

  • Fair, honestly.

Switching to a diffrent survivor last second AND with an item (presumably a strong flashlight or a toolbox with brand new part) is just scummy.

Bonus points if it's not a single person, or they switch into a prestige 3 or prestige 3 claudette

  • Deception and Balanced Landing, that's my personal meta <3

For killer.... I usually have to optimize strong builds, but for when I try a new killer: I'm all ears or Hex:Plaything (if I get them in the bloodweb).

  • @Bladeisbest said:

Perhaps Knockout so they crawl slower for a bit and nobody can see their aura? Or maybe even the dreaded....NOED??? O.O

Oh lawd. "No way you Noed"

  • Very nice

For the 4th perk it's good to pair unrelenting with spirit fury, but because of your add - ons I guess Barbeque and Chilli or ruin will do.
