Dear Dead By Daylight, Behavior, Starbreeze, and development team.

In this letter, I will try to be in depth as possible in regards of improving, alterations, and changes for the game Dead by Daylight.

Note (I am no hardcore or expert gamer. I play games weather by popular appeal, personal preference, or just having fun by myself or with friends. I understand your company have to make hard decisions when it comes to the bottom dollar. My concern is with future of Dead by Daylight and everyone involved in it's creation, progression, and gaming community it had built in the last six years.)

1.) Congratulations

Firstly, congratulations for creating such a unique game, characters, mechanics, lore and horror related moments. Embracing the memes, gifs, the gaming community, "salt", toxicity and tackling licensing in expanding the experience that is Dead By Daylight. It's obvious your trying to develop your game further in horror and competition. Working along those in the community both gaming and LGBTQIA. Doing your best during the global novel coronavirus pandemic.

2.) Hacking, Lag Switching, Suspicious Gameplay

Like any game there will be hackers to "heighten" or ruin gameplay to the community. Hackers have been in the years a major issue in your game. Not enough was done due this serious issue. Other gaming developers have pursued hackers via legal lawsuit. I suggest you do the same. Gaming experience on online have been caused by errors or unexplained glitches, bugs that is hindering your game and causing games to be held hostage and of course frustrations.

3.) Time Penalty

The time penalty is a great addition to the game. To ease frustrations of the gamer to cool off after a bad game.

But your time penalty feature can't tell the difference from a player aborting from a game session or a connection/internet issue. Thus time penalty raised from 5 to 15 or more minutes. I believe the time penalty should be 5 minutes no matter how many times a player disconnects or experiencing connection issue. 5 minutes is more than enough time for the player to cool off, relax, use the restroom, etc.

4.) Bloodpoint Cap and Bloodpoint spending.

For a long time of the games success and expanding character roster. The games Bloodpoint experience cap have not been raised at all. The Bloodpoint Cap should be raised by 2 or 3 million.

The Bloodpoint spending I have no issue except when purchasing a disabled perk, item, add-on or offering. I find it ridiculous that during the lengthy time of the Haddonfield map offering being disabled, players pay 5000 Bloodpoints for an offering they can't use at all while in the blood web. Disabled perks, items , offerings and add-ons should be at a reduced Bloodpoint amount in the blood web.

5.) Rarity Offerings

In the early days of Dead by Daylight there were an array of offerings. Mainly the Iridescent(s) Killers were able to put up the offering to try out a killer and their abilities.

Survivors were able to brighten or darken the moon.

Now Survivors don't have an Iridescent offering while killers have the Ebony Memento Mori Offering.

The Iridescent offering for survivors should be anything that gives survivors a slight edge against killers. Weather to darken the map or removing just one hook, or a guaranteed purple key from a chest.

6.) Perks for Killers and Survivors

It's understandable that your fine tuning killer abilities, add-ons, items and perks to balance gameplay. Recent killers have perks that are becoming annoying and overwhelming. First example that has longed dominated survivors is the perk No one escapes death a clutch perk that allow killers to win a game with little effort. I believe since offerings and items have rating color system. No one escapes death perk should be classed as a Iridescent perk or nerfed slightly as to removing the speed boost that it gives to killers. Even though there are ways to counter the perk, depending how killers set up their perk load out, it's no fun when killer utilizes the perk to camp a hooked survivor.

Survivor perks that are under utilized such as Hope, Lightweight , Sole Survivor , Up the Ante and Deja vu, etc. Need a buff or changes since I rarely seen these perks in action.

7.) Breakable Doors

The breakable doors were an excellent addition to the game. Depending on the layout it can be an advantage for killers or survivors. But it seemed overlooked that killers are the only ones to break the doors. It will be great if survivors have the means to break a door, if the Brown toolboxes can be updated to allow survivors to break doors or a new item like a crowbar for survivors.

8.) Maps

Kudos in updating maps to be more immersive and HD quality. But it will be great if Mount Ormond, Lery memorial institute, Yaomoka Estate, Midwich , Haddonfield , etc, have more variety in maps. Since Shelter woods, coldwind, springwoods, etc, have different variations of its locales. It will be great for new variations to come to game for players to explore, play in new map layouts.

9.) Killers Ranking, Bloodpoints, & Camping

The Bloodpoint scoring system is understandable among both survivors and killers. Killers need to add pressure to slow down survivors from escaping. But, in many games it seems unfair in certain gameplay situations. Killers received Bloodpoints for a survivor dying on the ground or dying to the entity. Killers should received Bloodpoints by being active in gameplay and not "cheesing" it.

Even when a killer camps within 16 meters of a hooked survivor. The scoring result still have the killer near or over 3000k of Bloodpoints or earn a ranking pip. I feel the camping penalty should be raised higher. Which would incline killers to be proactive on the map instead of camping. Killers are reaching Rank 1 Iridescent more than survivors by camping. Which I believe is one of reasons players are playing less of your game.

10.) Charitable Cause

It's great in your store there is the charitable head case cosmetics and the promotion code for Pride & LGBTQIA charms to raise awareness of the community. But that's all I see in a worthy cause. I feel you need to really make cosmetics to help another charity either for LGBTQIA community or victims of abuse. Then players are more susceptible to buying something that can help out for a great cause.

Sincerely, SwordsofPrayers - a PlayStation player.

Furthermore, I will stream future games playing as a killer to prove my point written in section 9 on this letter. I will show that camping survivors allows killers to reach Iridescent rank 1 easily.
