I'm just sick of them still adding challenges where you have to throw the match, despite repetitive community feedback for them to stop doing so. Get stunned, be injured and hide near the killer, go from healthy to injured while vaulting (like we even have a problem with that happening normally anyways though), etc. etc. Real inviting 'challenges', thanks BHVR!

Sprint Burst is the perfect definition of a high risk, high reward perk. It's a powerful exhaustion perk, that comes at the cost of not always being available in every chase. No nerfs needed.
-
Wanted to personally confirm this is fixed:

I thought the old system was going to be left in place so if you have unlocked teachables, they'll still show up in the blood web after the new system kicks in, but if you prestige a character, then all other killers will automatically have it at the rank you prestiged. No blood web grind needed. If that's the case he doesn't need to do anything.
Yes, both systems will exist! The grind only goes away on other characters if you prestige the character whose teachables you want across the board on all other characters.

Thanks to both for replying!
However, one thing still concerns me a little.
Lets say there’s a killer I don’t like to play but they had strong perks I wanted to unlock on killers I do like to play.
So as an example, let’s say that under the current system I don’t like playing Hag but I wanted her teachables. I’ve levelled her up to rank 40, stopped there and unlocked the perks in the bloodweb of all other killers. I have then subsequently unlocked the perks at tier 3 on a killer I do like, let’s just say Trapper. Under this new system would trapper keep Hag’s perks at tier 3? Or would I have to prestige Hag?
Edit: My mistake on reading and replying to this too quickly. You won't be losing anything you've currently unlocked on any character, if you decide not to prestige. The teachable perk system is not being altered.

I blame prove thyself & strong toolboxes with built to last etc. Gens can already be done very fast if people know what they're doing but add onto that commodious with bnp and perks to replenish your toolbox and you can end the game ridiculously quickly.
Built to Last requires sitting in a locker for 12+ seconds, for diminishing returns each time it’s used in a trial. How much time does it actually save, if any?
Prove Thyself is a necessary survivor perk option because of all the stackable gen damaging, regressing, and blocking perks available to killers. I think it shaves something like six seconds off of co-op repair times, from start to finish.

@TAG said:
I am personally waiting. I cannot imagine that whatever the reward is for prestiging early is worth having to regrind a character from scratch in my eyes.
Don’t forget that, with this upcoming change, you’re also automatically getting all teachable perks at tier III from characters you’ve P3’d. So if you have completed a lot of them, the grind will only be for general perks on new characters or after prestiging.
-
He's been miserable to play since map reworks and his harsh nerf. I only consider it for the more rewarding daily rituals (chase and mori) and Archives. His add-ons need to be revisited.
-
I usually don't even take time to go out of my way to snuff a boon. No way am I dedicating two killer perk slots to a set of survivor perks that may not even be present in a trial, or make a difference.
-
Blood points, Archive challenges, perhaps only chance they'll get to use the flashlight the whole match.
-
Because broken things still exist in the game that people don't want to verse; and DC penalties. You can't force anyone to play a video game.

Slug. There's your counter.
What's the counter for end game camping for someone without DS? "but BT!!!!" I play soloq, a lot of people just farm you without BT.
So, what's the counter for someone without DS who is being face camped?
60 seconds is plenty of time in most end game situations to reach an exit gate. It's not like the survivor is typically slugged right off hook. And you're still ok with them progressing the game by opening exit gates. Not sure we're playing the same version of DbD?
Survivors are not entitled to an escape just because all five generators were completed. They have teammates and other perks to assist them escaping, other than a strong anti-tunnel perk still having effect when the killer is basically out of options in the end game. It's just stupid that a killer has to literally watch a survivor go right out the exit gate in their face because of DS in end game.

@GannTM said:
I can’t believe people are still complaining about DS after all the nerfs it’s received.
That's because there are still justified complaints on both sides about the perk.

People arent only complaining about that, theyre complaining about everything, that's what they do on these forums.
Killers shouldnt get a free kill from camping just because its end game.
But survivors get a free, uncounterable escape because of a perk just because it’s end game? Outside of some killers, even end game camping can be countered. End game DS has no counterplay.

I think what they are saying is that instead of triggering when the exit gate is first touched, it triggers when the exit gate is finished, and just delays it from opening. So if they 99, No Way Out doesn't trigger till they try to 100 it.
That would make more sense. ‘After all generators are repaired and a survivor would have fully opened an exit gate...’

I never said it did. The difference is every other exhaustion perk has an activation requirement. SB works by simply running and can easily be recovered while working on a gen, doing totems, and healing so the need to walk to save SB is basically non-existent.
That’s the risk of running the perk. It may be unavailable in chase. And all of the other exhaustion perks recover under the same conditions.

What exactly would you nerf about Dredge?
The teleport is overpowered. I would make locked lockers take triple as long as they do now for him to escape them. The cool down should also be longer by base (maybe 25 seconds per teleport usage, which would also make it a more meaningful decision whether or not you use up to all three charges). Certain lockers should never be traversable (shack if it has basement, lockers in and near other basement spawns, and any immediately next to exit gates). Would also consider him only being able to traverse lockers by first going near one, so it can’t be spammed on demand like it can now.
And for how powerful Nightfall is, I think it would be more fair if survivors were given a visual indicator (like Freddy or Pinhead) of how long before it starts.

@Vampwire said:
Short answer is no. But I don't think there's a way to nerf bubba camping without hurting his actual gameplay. Plus how often do you actually get face camped by a bubba like this?
The better question is, how often are you not facecamped by Bubba like this?
-
@DrDeepwound said:
Lets highlight some of the things the devs have done to combat camping:
Made BT no longer need terror radius
Made hooks swivel to allow survs unhook from multi angles.
But notice they wont make hooks allow a killer to hook from the back, you know allowing survs to bodyblock and deny unhooks. Blocking the hook prompt is no different than blocking unhook prompts. Facecamping and bodyblocking hooks are basically the same thing
Maybe one day devs make hooks so we can hook survs from the back too, but we know that wont happen, survs would cry they couldnt bodyblock the hooks anymore.
Talk about irony
Yeah, and the trade off was that BT lost some of its activation duration with the change. That was real nice. And it only makes sense a killer can only hook from the front of a hook. You can’t bodyblock a hook from the back either?
-
Sluzzy, I agree Dredge needs a nerf.. but Devour Hope? Don’t we we want more perks like it, that encourage not camping and tunneling? It won’t even activate if the killer stays too close to a hooked survivor, and you won’t get enough tokens if you keep going for the same survivor. It needs a little bit more early game protection, I would say. And that’s it.
-
I’m a survivor main and agree it’s bologna. It’s pretty widely understood that after the fifth gen pops, the killer’s ability and reasons to patrol the map become minimal. You can’t expect them to go for healthy and/or different survivors in this situation.
I would gladly trade DS deactivating after fifth gen pop, for it losing the skill check; working for both hook states; and disabling killer powers for five seconds after they recover from the stun (and maybe throw in Parental Guidance’s effects too). Same goes for BT: deactivate end game for a longer activation duration before the fifth gen pops. Survivors would need to rely on pure base game altruism and grit to a save a teammate from what seems to be certain death.
They would function as much better anti-tunnel perks than what we have now, without granting a basic free escape in the end game ‘because perk’.

Sprint Burst isn't as busted as DH but it needs some attention too. You shouldn't be able to recover exhaustion while being chased for starters or "99%" it. It should probably have a longer cool down overall, or only recover exhaustion while you're doing nothing more than walking.
Not sure where you get the idea that Sprint Burst has a special exhaustion recovery ability that the other exhaustion perks don’t. It doesn’t. Works the exact same. The user only recovers exhaustion while not running.
It’s still a one-time use per chase exhaustion perk, outside of an extraordinarily skilled survivor and/or bad killer.

Wait, what? It doesn't work with Endurance? I didn't use Overcome for a long time, but last time I did, it worked with Endurance.
It was acknowledged as a bug and changed. It was the one redeeming quality of Overcome, that gave it a situational edge over the other exhaustion perks. Shouldn’t have been removed.
-
I don’t understand this change. So survivors already open a gate, then it blocks the switch for the other exit gate? How is this a better perk than what we have now? How does this help deal with 99% opened gates?
-
You could wait to prestige him closer to time. Mandy said we’ll be given prior notice before the rewards go live.

If you're the one getting facecamped by bubba, you can still help ur team by not dcing and just stay hooked thru struggle hit all ur skillchecks til u die. If bubba camps u to death without moving it gives ur team lots of time to get gens done. Sounds very boring i know but he will only get 1 kill from doing that.
Real thrilling gameplay, all for 800 survival BP for me. Yippee!

That's a hot take. Maybe if it worked while protected by the endurance status effect (like it did while it was bugged), it might be situationally better than Sprint Burst.. but in no way is it second right now.

Lithe is more reliable. Overcome requires you to be healthy and not exhausted to work. Powerless against one shot killers and perks. It’s only just above Smash Hit.

How people can enjoy a match, where they play just 4 minutes and escape with less points, then what they would have earned dying in a normal match. Is beyond me.
I don't think many people choose to play the "survivor" role wanting to die. Even if it's with more points. I feel way more gratified escaping than dying with more BP.
To OP, gen speeds are fine; but many map designs are not. You also can't really nerf gen speeds any further without taking any action against camping and tunneling.

Why are we making fun of people using map offerings now? I don't get it. Apparently survivors want easy games if they use an Coldwin, Badham, RPD, The Game (or any indoor map), Crotus Penn, Ormond and Eyrie of Crows offering. Now I'm also seeing someone is making fun about a SWF taking them to MacMillan?? Like, I rarely see people making fun of killers using map offerings that favor their killers, like Nurse or Blight on Autohaven, Wraith on indoor maps etc, so why is it so bad when survivors do it?
Besides there are probably many other reasons to use a map offering like, they like the map or they are tired of getting the same maps during this boost to the 'favorite' maps. Like, in one session I got Coal Tower 5 times in one session and just wanted a different map. Also she's playing a new survivor, and she's probably just trying to use the offerings before she prestiges.
Just burning a map offering is half the story. It’s for what’s widely accepted as a heavily survivor favored set of maps, accompanied by a DC when they were already going to be dead and back in lobby in a matter of seconds. With a double BP offering in play. It wasn’t an early DC or anything, their team had lost at this point. Those are some of the funniest DCs in the game.
All of those maps you mentioned, besides MacMillan, are also decidedly survivor-sided by a majority of players. Yeah, no one in either role typically likes to be on the receiving end of a map offering - especially when accompanied by certain killers, perks, items, and/or add-ons.
And I’m not going to take the time to reply to each person saying wild things in this post; but for the record I am a Christian, and do my best to show God’s love to all people, no matter who they are. I acknowledge I am sinful and make mistakes. I apologize if I’ve offended anyone, none was intended.

As a survivor main, I approve this message. It’s not fun when it happens to you, but is the most acceptable time to camp (all gens done/during EGC).

The healing on other survivors is decent without we'll make it or circle of healing
It’s ok, cuts off about five seconds healing them. I just feel you’re really underutilizing it without a medkit and/or Self-Care (and Desperate Measures if you’re really going speed heal crazy).

Does it though ? It's a meme perk like others. You basically accept you'll get your ######### kicked in if you bring it
It’s more than a meme perk. You lose a health state permanently, usually to the detriment of yourself and the rest of your team. Other meme perks serve a purpose without butchering the whole flow of a game for survivors.
Having an achievement and Rift challenges associated with it are annoying too, because it forces people to run this ‘meme’ perk to get them done.

Are you shaming the Haddie for disconnecting after being farmed off hook by Mikaela? That's not too outrageous of a choice IMO, though I'd personally just let myself die instead of give up my points.
I'm laughing at her burning the map offering, then DCing (that's Otz's Law) while on hook with what was going to be certain death. Main Event was not active when Mikaela went for the unhook, in her defense.
Most survivors aren't burning Coldwind Farm to have a fun, fair match. Not sure you've played on those maps recently.

You can make the most direct comparison with his type to teleport to DG and its a pretty even give and take. Dredge doesn't need to "set up" his portals, but he also can't teleport anywhere he wants like DG can and is reliant on map layout.
No hiding portals beside every generator, hook, and exit gate for Dredge.
Respectfully disagree. Here's why:
- Demo portals require an entry and exit point to be setup beforehand
- He can only teleport while on top of one of them
- He gives a loud audio cue when teleporting
- Can be destroyed by survivors if they want, after the first use of it
- Have a limited number of locations they can be set, with no way to get them back unless the survivors decide to destroy portals
Dredge?
- Teleport to any locker, any time (as long as power isn't on cooldown, which is only 12 seconds base)
- If you don't like what you see there, teleport up to two more times
- Survivors can only barely slow it down, once per locker per trial, while also removing their option to hide in that locker for perks or stealth reasons
There were already plenty of lockers on most maps, most especially near gens. But just in case, they went ahead and added lockers to dead zones. Because that's exactly the kind of defenses survivors want near gens, with a new killer who teleports through them (/s). And plenty of exit gates have lockers close enough by that it doesn't really matter.
-
His map pressure is over the top. That teleport is on steroids relative to other teleporting killers. Needs a nerf.
