I distinctly remember there was a boost, but even when it was bugfixed it still applied roughly halfway through the kicking animation, so by the time you'd accellerated enough to make use of it it had already worn out, which is probably why nobody remembers it. Because it did nothing.

Have you even tried using Dark Theory? It seems like you’ve decided it’s quality without giving it a real chance.
Yes, I have used the perk and yes, I think it is useless.

1.) MFT required healing another survivor to activate the endurance effect & was immediately active. I don’t recall seeing many people complain about this secondary effect and it was nearly impossible to activate during a chase. You could theoretically break chase with a killer, have MFT active because you’ve been injured, find someone to heal, then taunt the killer into chasing you again but that’s a lot of time wasted on a strategy that may not work.
2.) The 1% (or 33% weaker) is a negligible difference for a number of reasons… none of which are exactly relevant to the point I’m making.
3.) Do you have any proof that people are “consistently missing” tiles (I presume?) or pallets or vaults with DT that they’d make with MFT? I think if you’re fixated on the accessibility of old MFT you have to consider it still required a survivor play with one health state. DT works while you’re healthy. That is a big advantage.
4.) 24 meters is not a small area. I’m not saying it’s half a map but it’s nothing to scoff at, and the effects linger for 5 seconds after leaving the boon’s influence zone so you could probably round that up to 30 meters or more.
I’m not suggesting Dark Theory is the best perk (or boon) in the game. But it’s ridiculous to state it has no utility. If it were used more often I’m certain killers would complain about its ‘measly’ 2%. It’s seen as non problematic because no one uses it.
1) The point is not that the endurance effect was particularly useful, especially not in chase, because it wasn't a chase effect. MFT was useful both in-chases with the 3% and also one of the best altruistic anti-slugging perks, especially when combined with something like We're Gonna Live Forever. When taken together, it simply did too much for a single perk, being both good in chases and slugging situations.
3) I do not have the clip to hand, so you will have to take my words and nothing more, but I distinctly remember seeing clips on Twitter from around the release of MFT of people comparing Dark Theory, MFT, and regular movement speed. Dark Theory only really had a noticeable effect on shorter loops, which are much easier to mindgame and counteract as killer, and often are better used as filler to comp-drop and run to the safer loops, whilst the safer, longer loops were made much better with MFT (and still are, if you run it).
4) 24m is not small, but it also is not that large, especially when you look at Totem spawns. MFT was mapwide and immediate, while Dark Theory is confined to one or two loops which, once the pallet is gone, are essentially useless because they're the shorter, weaker loops that it has an effect on, and the tiles that remain strong with just a window (a la many Jungle Gyms + Shack + Main Buildings) aren't the ones that you want Dark Theory to be used on, because they're the ones where it has little to no effect. Sure, it can be used while healthy unlike MFT, but who cares when it doesn't do anything for you?

@Ayodam said:

It’s 1% less than peak MFT. People lost their minds over 3%. If the 2% haste buff boon is in a good area, maybe DT could provide decent value.
The issue with MFT was never the 3%, it was the fact that it was 3% on top of an entire extra perk (Endurance after healing). Dark Theory is 1% less and confined to a tiny area, so even if the 3% was the major issue, because movement speed is so fragile 1% can make a difference, so things you would easily make with MFT you'd consistently miss with Dark Theory.
Dark Theory is easily the worst.

They are not actively banning it but they've always stated this kind of features (speaking of reshade and changing icons etc) is done at the risk of the user.
If they get banned for it, that's on them.
Correct. Which is identical to the stance taken to custom perk icons which if anything helps my stance more because I don't think anyone is calling custom perk icons cheating.

https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3787514#Comment_3787514
Ok, so.
Can you explain, are you absolutely certain that reshade does not fit that category?
- It is a 3rd party software or "other tool"
- i think you would agree with this
- Does it "gain any kind of unfair advantage that wasn't intended by the game and is not whitelisted"
- Give the topic of discussion it would seem that such a program IS NOT whitelisted
- Literally in the next sentence they explain what is whitelisted by saying: "We are not banning the use of communication apps"
- Can you show me any official source other than this post that shows in the next sentence that filters are whitelisted in any capacity?
- Does it or does it not provide some kind of advantage over players not using it?
Reshade, no, because it isn't given the whitelist. I am sure the developers would be fine with it, because it is identical to Nvidia Freestyle, which they have whitelisted, but I cannot say 100% for sure because of that fact.
I would not agree, however, that the whitelisted sentence applies exclusively to communication apps. This was added around 2 years ago - and I do not have proof, so you will sadly just have to trust that I read these rules a lot - when discussions around Discord being cheating were at an all time high, and I would assume reports also were by extension.
As for your point on an official source, that depends on if you're willing to take it as official.
As you can probably guess by the title, this is a list of all games supported by GeForce Experience, and by extension Nvidia Freestyle as it is part of GeForce Experience. Dead By Daylight is one of the officially supported games.
And again, GeForce Experience and the related programs (including Freestyle, which is the filtering program, and therefore ReShade by extension, as it is essentailly Freestyle without requiring a Nvidia graphics card or drivers) are strictly opt-in. Developers have to actively decide they want players to be able to use these settings, including filters, for Nvidia GeForce Experience to work.
I do not have a source directly from BHVR, outside of them confirming multiple times it is not something they are actively banning for (very similarly to changed perk icons, but I sadly do not have a screenshot of this on hand but could probably find one if you give me a day or two to scour reddit).
So, which it definitely can provide an advantage ("it just makes my game look better i swear") it also can be an incredibly useful tool for those of us with disabilities, and when allowing Freestyle ReShade should also be allowed to even the playing field and allow anyone with an AMD (or other) graphics card + drivers to use (what is materially the same) program to access filters.
At the end of the day, this argument hinges on if you believe that, by allowing Nvidia GeForce Experience to be used in their game, the devs are whitelisting this as an okay program to use. I believe they are, because it is a strictly opt-in process, which is more onerous to perform than to not.
- It is a 3rd party software or "other tool"
-
@Reinami said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3787505#Comment_3787505
Fair enough, but you are the first person in this thread who has countered it by saying "filters are not cheats"
Can you explain to me how filters are not cheats when:
- They can provide an advantage over players who are not using them
- They are only accessible via downloading a 3rd party program that runs while your game runs
- They are not accessible to console players at all, and thus are only available to a fraction the player base
Oh, yes, because cheating is defined as acting dishonestly or unfairly in order to gain an advantage. BHVR themselves define this as "Using 3rd party software or other tools to gain any kind of unfair advantage that wasn’t intended by the game, except if they have been whitelisted by us. We are not banning for the use of communication apps" in the game rules.
While I cannot speak for ReShade, Nvidia Freestyle requires that the developers of a game specifically opt-in and whitelist the program, or else the current issue appears of "a supported game is required to use this feature". Therefore, as it has been specifically whitelisted by the developers, it falls outside the scope of what they consider to be cheating while using a third party app, and therefore doesn't constitute cheating to me either.

Sure, like i said, maybe it doesn't work for you, that is fine and understandable, but can you understand that the devs should instead add this as something that fixes it for ALL players instead of just expecting players to download a 3rd party program? You should be petitioning the devs to fix this problem for everyone.
Again, explain why the same logic doesn't apply to people who are deaf and hard of hearing and using cheats to see survivor auras for example.
The reason why it doesn't apply is because filters are not cheats. If there was a program which could do what you said - and was explicitly and repeatedly whitelisted by the developers, including the most recent issues where they say it is not them or Nvidia but EAC - then I would absolutely consider that fair game.
And, yes, I can understand why we should ask BHVR for an option that works for all. Which we have been doing, and it took backlash from the wider gaming community following a certain dev's comments regarding colourblind mode for it to even be added. If the only way our concerns are listened to is to wait 7 years and then have widespread backlack from those far removed from DBD's circle, then at this point I'll just take the filters. At least they're quick.

@Reinami said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3787427#Comment_3787427
There is a colorblind mode already in the game to deal with that.
Downloading something that modifies the game to deal with accessibility issues is not a proper solution to the problem.
Let me ask this, as someone who is hard of hearing, and plays killer a lot, should i be allowed to download a cheat that makes it so i can see survivor auras when they make noise? For example? After all, it would be for accessibility purposes.
Additionally, your "solution" is only accessible to a fraction of the player base on PC. Console players don't have access to it.
The better solution is instead to petition the devs to add those accessibility options available to ALL players regardless of platform.
Trust me, as someone who is colourblind, the colourblind mode in this game simply does not help. Or, it does help, but it doesn't help enough, especially in comparison to what Nvidia + ReShade offer. And I can sob and beg and pray for better accessibility for everyone, but it took seven years for an FOV slider! I'll be in my fourties by the time this gets added.

I think the problem with that is that billys basekit had aged by the time they had the chance to finally remove overheat. If billy didn't have overdrive and also didn't have the basekit buffs they gave him (like less cooldown and half engravings base along with curve buff) he'd be very weak even though he has a instadown on command. It also makes it very hard to make addons for him as his design is fairly one-note.
Oh, I didn't say anything about not giving his basekit the buffs. I just don't think overdrive is entirely necessary and if all they're doing in the next update is removing it I genuinely don't think he'll be that much worse, and might even be in a better state because it'll stop encouraging overuse of the chainsaw to get overdrive
-
To be honest if the Billy change was just removing Overdrive I still think he'd be totally fine lol. He didn't even need it, he didn't need overheat either, he just needed his animations and collisions fixed.

I dont think this. The general public of DBD care FAR more for content than anything else. I always bring this up but its a good example when DBD had a 6 month time of no content between Pig and Clown the playerbase dropped rapidly.
Even though the players were informed that a whole host of new features was coming including most majorly the cosmetics shop but still no one cared because they want content and they want it now not later. I think things like that make BHVR wary of trying to decrease the content productioni feel like comparing a 6 month content drought from when the game was less than 2 years old and a return to the 3-month content cycle we had previously from when the game is over 8 years old is not an entirely fair comparison. the general public of DBD like new content, but they are not going to spend money on this new content if the game is a bugged, unbalanced mess caused by dropping so much content. since lara croft dropped - which was mid july, btw - we've had gamebreaking bugs related to endurance systems, generators auto-completing, and entire sections of the map not loading. and this isn't something new, either - the technical polish of dbd's patches has been on a steady decline for the past year and a bit now, it's a noticeable pattern.
correlation does not equal causation, but in my opinion it is absolutely related to when they changed it from a 4 chapter/year content cycle to a 6 chapter/year content cycle, particularly when combined with the layoffs we've seen taking place this year (not just at bhvr, but across the entire industry). the last time patch cycles were consistently this bad was when we were seeing the chapters developed entirely during covid when remote working was not yet ironed out, and before that? i cannot think of a consistent chapter cycle that broke the game as much as a binding of kin → all kill, and now dnd → tomb raider → castlevania. even darkness among us wasn't this bad.
the general public of dbd care about content, but when there's not actually a game to play im not convinced more content will fix the issue.

I like how relaxed this mode is, and the matchmaking chaos keeps this from becoming too serious. And it it's simple, with no complex builds/strats, and it's very hard to tunnel/camp.
All that said, I got a little perspective last night after playing some killer in the 2v8 after a hundred or so solely as survivor (have no patience for long waits. My theory had been that one of the reasons it was fun/relaxed as surv was because many (most?) of the killers in the 2v8 were normally surv players who were playing killer because they could now do it with a friend. And consequently, lots of the killers were simply not that good.
After playing several killer matches last night, I feel this is probably true. Even playing laid back, almost every match I played in ended in an 8K. This stands in stark contrast to my surv games, almost all of which ended with multiple escapes.
It's totally anecdotal of course, but my takeaway is that as the inexperienced killers get better and learn to coordinate at the same level as surv teams, and the killer roster expands and people can play their killers of choice, some of the fun/relaxed vibes will wear off.
I still think it's a good addition to the game, though.
I actually think the simplicity is a big draw to it.
Tried out 2v8 3 days ago because my friend wanted to play, and I had no desire to play by myself, so loaded it up and we went to town. I was on Nurse because she's the only one of the five I know how to play besides Wraith, and my mate went Wraith and Huntress 50/50 so I figured it was easier to stay as her. Bear in mind, when I say "know how to play" I mean "I know the basic mechanics" not "I am a god gamer Nurse". But it was so much more fun than 1v4 has been in a while.
We didn't have to worry about coordinating builds, or what the opponents were bringing. We didn't have to overthink 83 different situations in our heads worrying about "oh if they bring x then I must do y, but if they have z I need to do w instead". We could just get on and play; I'd done basically no research into anything 2v8 wise (and got confused when I spawned in with 3 Blinks lol) but it's something I could actually figure out on the fly.
Similarly, when I played Survivor, having to know 5 maps and 5 killers and 4 different possible perk combinations was so much more simple than what's currently in live. I went to 1v4 (solo) and was hit with a Vecna and spent the whole match thinking about how needlessly complex that power actually is when you compare it to "I teleport through walls", "I place bear traps", "I throw hatchets", "My chainsaw goes broom and sometimes it goes broom broom", "I go invisible and when I stop being invisible I have a speed boost". Which is why I think 2v8 is going to become a lot less fun over time, because all of the excess bloat and complexity and unnecessary things from the rest of the roster, particularly the later additions, will make its way in and ruin that simplicity.
-
Rework Lights Out to be even darker but in return there's less gens to do/gens take less time and all Survivors spawn with a new item, the Flash Beacon, which has a 20(? probably longer I'm just making it up here) second cooldown. It provides a blinding flash of light, illuminating the surrounding area but also blinding any player, killer or Survivor, caught looking at it at the wrong time (must be the front of the Beacon, obviously). That would be a lot more fun imho than just Lights Out: Classes Edition.

the server space theory doesn't make any sense. dbd items aren't unique. they aren't crafted, they don't consume resources, there's essentially no tracking data involved. the only thing the server should be keeping track of is that you have ## of TRAPPER_ADD_ON_0, ## of TRAPPER_ADD_ON_1, etc. which should be done in a text file.
this text file already has addon information for every single thing in the game, whether you own it or not, because the game needs to know that you have 0 of it. adding more numbers to the text file is not going to substantially bloat the size of the text file.
the only reason the server space thing makes sense is if each addon is a unique object that logs the time you get it. which wouldn't be the funniest dbd programming moment, but it would be up there.
I genuinely would not be surprised, given how spaghetti most of DBD actually is.
-
No, they aren't removed from the web once you hit 10k.
I do not believe anyone will be compensated, but Mandy has confirmed the team are planning on increasing it to 20k on live so nobody is actually affected.
The running theory is that it was done for server space. With high player turnover, particularly veterans who had the most items, server space is becoming more limited. It's likely a precautionary measure, just in case. Of course that's entirely speculation, we don't know lol.

You can press the windows-key (next to CTRL) and R at the same time. Then you can type in "dxdiag" which should show under "Display" (or whatever language your OS is using) which GPU is used.
You can get DDU from here:
https://www.wagnardsoft.com/display-driver-uninstaller-DDU-
You can get the latest AMD Drivers here:
https://www.amd.com/en/support/download/drivers.html
Personally, I would do it in the following:
Find out which GPU you are using. Download DDU and the latest Driver. Start DDU and follow the instructions (you dont need to be in safe mode (if this is how it is called in English)). When your PC restarts, cut off your internet connection during that time, because otherwise your PC might install some driver it can find on the internet.
Now without Internet connection, just install the AMD Driver.
You should be fine afterwards and on the newest Driver. Maybe this helps.Just jumping in to confirm it is indeed called Safe Mode

The sad thing is, if they focused on producing better content less frequently, people would be more incentivised to spend money on skins and other sources of revenue. The more chapters drop within a year, and the lower quality state they're in (I can count the number of good chapters we've had since Project W on one hand) the less likely people are to keep playing and spending.
Licences used to make massive splashes in the playercount, bringing in old and new players alike. Now dropping some of the biggest licences ever - ALIEN?! - didn't even make a dent.
If they focused on fixing the damn game instead of churning out content seeking endless growth, maybe they'd actually be doing better off. There'd definitely be a higher playercount and we wouldn't be reaching dangerous levels of player turnover. But we'll never know, because the higher ups demand more.

The simple truth is, in this modern interconnected world, that you cannot buy anything (product or service) without putting money into the pockets of someone that disagrees with you. If any of you have watched "The Good Place:" you will also understand that almost every action you take has negative consequences as well, even when you don't mean for it to do so. Sometimes when you donate to a charity you find out that hardly any of the money went to the people you thought you were helping, and a lot went to people you don't like. Sometimes you put the money directly into the hands of a homeless person thinking you bought them dinner, only to find out later you bought them booze or hard drugs and they died because of it.
The world is complex. When it comes to intellectual properties there is always someone connected that you don't know about. Likewise, some of the greatest IPs are connected to people that had questionable if not downright horrific beliefs in their personal lives. If you feel better, get a satisfaction from denying yourself access to something to deny someone else money, that is a reasonable enough reason to do it. If you are able to divest the IP from the creator, then likewise that is a perfectly respectable reason to feel comfortable enjoying that IP. For my own part, I largely do not follow nor care about the creator's of IP (even those I particularly enjoy). I don't care about the creators, only the work. I think good people are quite capable (and have) done terrible things, and that bad people have, from time to time, produced good things. With that in mind I judge the the art, not the artist.
All that being said, I could care less about Five Nights coming to Dead by Daylight. It isn't an IP I associate with horror, a fun video game, or most recently a good movie. I consider it all B-Reel material at best. It won't bother me to run from a mechanical mascot, nor will it impress me. The new arrivals will join the ranks of many other Killers that are just kind of "there:" for me. I realize this is personal opinion, but I've never understood the excitement around this IP. I won't buy it unless the Perks seem so good that I don't want to wait on the Shrine. ;)

It's not hypocrisy at all, just because they made a business deal with someone doesn't mean they support the persons view or opinions. If I buy the dlc that doesn't mean I support anti LGBT views, same goes for BHVR. they clearly haven't done or said anything negative to the LGBT community. If you don't want to play the dlc or have moral standings against it fine but to say hypocrisy is just flat out incorrect.
No, it's not necessarily support, but it is sending the message that they don't care enough either way for it to be a dealbreaker, either. When you make a large part of your corporate brand and values that you're an lgbt+ ally, you have certain standards you must uphold, and not collaborating with people who have actively harmed the lgbt+ community is usually pretty high on that list.
It's hypocritical, plain and simple. At least I know I've saved a tenner on this year's anniversary chapter.

I suspect it will be changed to instead by blocking a # of instances of aura reading, that it will block some duration of aura reading. I.E. it blocks 10 seconds of aura reading, instead of 3 instances. That way if they have short aura reading they don't quickly burn through it, but also if they have long aura reading perks it won't totally counter them.
So fun fact, this is actually how it works already. If you can get an aura read for more than 10 seconds (I think there's only a few very niche ways to do this, like Nurse's Bad Man's Keepsake add-on, or Legion's Stylish Sunglasses, or combining Larry's Crew Manifest with Lethal Pursuer) then it will take 2 tokens, because it only blocks the 10 second duration, not the entire instance. It just so happens that there's not much aura reading that lasts for 10 seconds or more.

T-bagging over another Survivor. Killers like Ghostface or Pig, t-bagging a Survivor puts the player in the EXACT same situation you've described. However, there's never been any negative connotations with that, none at least that I've seen brought up.
With the amount of rage posts here over the years about people t-bagging them, I don't think the meaning has been watered down lol. I think they get the memo on that one.
Likewise, hitting on hook is non-consensual touching in a scenario where the victim is powerless to stop it. If we're going by the definition, that certainly fits.
While I agree that it is certainly childish, and dumb, it is a game. I feel very badly for people who could be at risk of reacting badly, but at a certain point, you need to understand the environment you are putting yourself in. Horror has always been prone to having some pretty creepy sexual undertones, see Freddy, and mixing that with an online environment is a recipe for disaster, if you are prone to being upset by such a thing.
Fun fact, when I started playing DBD, I had been playing online multiplayer games that didn't have a crouching ability, and I didn't even know what t-bagging was! I can, of course, only speak from my own personal experience, but the reason it annoyed me is because it was purposeful BM, not because of what it represents, and that continues to this day. Whenever I see someone t-bagging, my first thought is that it's BM, and not that it represents SH + SA.
The same cannot be said for humping. When I see that, it's all I can think about, and it's an action that makes me deeply uncomfortable. Again, I can only speak from my own experiences, but comparing my experiences between the two one brings on a much more severe emotional reaction, and it isn't the t-bagging.
Hitting on hook is considered non-consensual touching in a scenario where the victim is powerless to stop it
Entirely correct, but we are not using that definition. There's nothing sexual in nature about it, inherently or explicitly, and again the same simply cannot be said for humping. Looking at DBD's animations, the same could even be argued for t-bagging, because the crouching animation is so different to how it originated (even F13 had a more realistic animation for t-bagging, DBD's crouching and most other games' crouching is just so different that it doesn't actually click in my brain). Being hit on hook is violence, but it is not sexual violence, which is the difference here. Humping, to me, has those connections, those connotations, and doesn't annoy me, it actively, physically repulses me.
There's BMing, which is used to annoy someone, which I am totally fine with. This is a video game, I am able to stop playing the video game, go outside, and touch some grass. I am not chronically online enough to stake my health over a DBD match. But this doesn't feel (to me, who is drawing from my own experiences, speaking for myself, in my honest opinion) like BM, it feels like something worse, especially when it happens. I can't laugh it off like I can being hit on hook, hard tunneled, tbagged, clicked, pointed, etc. It makes me feel physically repulsed.
There's a difference, too, between horror having sexual undertones and this. There's a complete and massive difference between sexual themes for artistic merit and effect, and this.
At the end of the day, it shouldn't be bannable, and I completely understand that there's nothing that can be done about it. But at the very least, I can come to a niche internet forum, and complain about it.

The BM did not fall out of a coconut tree and exists within the context of everything that comes before it
This is so bad taste. Who opens a comment about SH/SA with a TikTok meme? Like what.
So, fun fact, I have been through the situation described and therefore I make jokes because I have not fully moved on from it, despite it occuring near enough 7 years ago. Forgive me for making the joke, it's the easiest way I have of talking about the subject.

Then t-bagging and hitting on hook is also sexual harrassment
No, actually, nowhere near. The BM did not fall out of a coconut tree and exists within the context of everything that comes before it - most noteably, there are no sexual connotations behind being hit on hook (tbagging is another matter, but considering that it's being done over the ground and not another person, and it has evolved from its contemporary roots to have taken on a much more basic meaning in wider gaming communities, I'd argue that it has been watered down enough to not count either). Humping is not only cringe but must be taken in context, like how tbagging used to be seen. Critically, humping is always done over a downed survivor, and there is unfortunately nothing that can be done by that survivor to prevent it. I don't believe I need to go into detail about the actions it has connotations to, but they are much more prevalent than in other forms of BM found (again, tbagging is the most direct equivalent but I'd argue that it is seen as a lot more general BM now).
Not only is it cringe, immature, and kind of disgusting, it is a lot more reminiscent of sexual harrassment and SA than being hit on the hook ever will be. Unless you're into that, I don't judge.

Just to clarify, are you arguing that hook suiciding should be removed because it's frustrating and ruins games, or because there's an opportunity to give the fourth survivor hatch without them having to wait for a minute (soon to be 70 seconds) because let's face it they're not being rescued?

I feel like if we got Bleach TYBW skins I'd have to instantly buy and any Tokyo Ghoul character? Like an actual Tokyo Ghoul Chapter?? I'd simply perish.

So my friend who has an older account just has a different HUD/UI because…bhvr didn't bother to "downgrade" theirs?
It was a form of random A/B testing and they just haven't made it a feature for everyone yet, for some reason.

or that he is not very good beyond this.
Potential hot take but I'd rather remove a killer making it easy to hold a survivor on hook hostage and make them better in other ways than allow them to keep the ability to hold a survivor on the hook even better than Bubba can

Treatment Mode grabs were disgusting…
I'm pretty sure you can dodge the shock and then go for an unhook though, right?
That depends entirely on the addons being used (and perks). Desperate Measures can let you stack up unhook speed, same with Leader, but also detonation delay addons (Discipline?) makes it harder to do so.

If that’s true, then damn, poor Ace. Released before Feng, David, and Mikaela and yet isn’t part of the original survivor group.
Ace I sort of get, since Hag isn't included so I don't see why he should be. But Doctor isn't included - it's the OG 3 + 2 free chapters - so Feng I don't understand. And then there's Mikaela, who's just there for the vibes I guess?

Doctors never did this in his old version so I don’t think a lot of people were aware of it back then. And no one did that because he had an even BETTER way of deny the unhook - just stand next to the hook in Treatment mode and grab them when they try to save. No idea why he could grab people in Treatment mode.
Otz showed this in one of his recent videos which is probably why this is getting attention again. It will probably go back to being a rare occurrence again in a few weeks.
But hook grabs could be baited or faked or something else could go wrong. Slap on the ring shock addon and boom, impossible to unhook ever. This is not anything new. ESPECIALLY when they reworked him to remove Treatment mode, this became very common for a while, but they simply did nothing about it.

And the latest buffs he got made it even more easier to do
Okay but that doesn't change the fact that people have been complaining about this since 2017 when he first dropped. It doesn't matter that it's easier than ever to do so, this has always been an issue to realistically I don't see them fixing it now.

I have my Nvidia settings on high performance and low quality while my in game settings are high + 59 fps
It works really great for flicking and better turn rate overall
I've just never upgraded my monitor from 60hz and I can't be bothered to now so I've gotten used to my limited flick range, as soon as I try and go above or below it completely messes with my muscle memory so I just stick to 60 haha

Dang, I suck at reading survivors items, never got the hang of it, but it seems to be THE skill I should invest in, as I play Pyramid Head so much.
For me, the zoning part is useful and its fun to block a pallet that a sneaky survivor just wanted to run back to and dunk on you head, only to smack them what feels an eternity later, but this is also the part that survivors can easily predict. I rarely get hits at short loops these days, as some survivors are just that good and patient, knowing full well that they have all the time in the world unless they step on the line.
But blind prediction shots, this are the ones where I get so much payoff, because most survivors aren`t adept at evading them, as they are just running their regular loop.
EDIT: oh, and flicking? I tried it one eveing and got nowhere, so I dropped it.
Fun fact, playing on lower framerates makes flicking easier, because for some reason the time between the turning rate being slowed and being locked into POTD is linked to your FPS, so while on 60fps you can get to like 45-90 degree flicks fairly consistently, playing on as low as 30 can easily allow 135, and going even lower can get the full 180 (at the cost of playing on an awful framerate).
