Fwiw this is almost certainly a bug, it mirrors one near the introduction of the mechanic perfectly, and it forces every wall that's in the code to spawn, including those that normally wouldn't ever (Asylum main building - there used to be 2 walls that would spawn from a potential 4, 1 always being near the conservatory window, before the other 3 were removed either after PTB or very close to it) or those which are conditional (a la Coal Tower, where only 2 out of a possible 3 are ever meant to spawn upstairs, with the one by the generator a guarantee and the other dependent on window spawn)

Plot twist does NOT activate on the ground. Plot twist PUTS you on the ground, but you can't activate it if you're already down. The perk is used to bring a survivor that is injured to healthy. Every other perk you listed recovers a slug and returns them to injured.
As a side note to this, you actually can. Plot twist has 2 entirely independent effects.
- When injured, you are able to crouch and press the Active Ability Button to put yourself into the dying state.
- While in the Dying State, the next time you recover, Plot Twist will heal you to full and give you a speed boost, deactivating the perk until all Generators are repaired.
It's worth noting that the first element of Plot Twist, the bit allowing you to down yourself, can be performed as often as you want. If someone else heals you, you can immediate redown yourself (for whatever reason). You can do this time and time and time again until you fully recover and therefore fully heal, which deactivated both elements of the perk. Similarly, if you're downed for whatever reason but not picked up, you can activate the second part of Plot Twist to fully heal and gain the speed boost, even without forcing yourself into dying through the perk.
So the healing aspect of plot twist does activate while you're on the ground. It's only the ability to put yourself into the dying state that requires being injured, which is a different effect than the full heal, because it doesn't deactivate the perk after use.

they already nerf if u want mroe give killer more basekit. there lots of ge perks for surv but not many good one left for killer, just got accept sometimes not able to a gen. bbq is helthy it encorage not be near hooks and also change target. no chage needed, lethal nly a prolem on blight and nurse nobody else. change blight and nurse if lethal a problem.
y killers not alloud to run perks to find ppl OR hold gens y we complain when the problem already fixed????? cuz we cant loop five gens ez anymore????? maybe it time to leave if that all u want to do…. :/
WoO is only prblem cuz there no activate needed. just happen. it to strong on rly good loopers i dont even ahve to try. maybe we make it work on vaults not pallets and have difrent perk for pallets idk????? that fair?????
I literally said the only reason to nerf these is if you follow your logic to nerf windows in that it's used too much. You think that having information is stronger than pain res or pentimento? It's a feel good QOL perk and that's why it's used… less than once per game (at 22%)
-
Also, knowing how spagetti code this game is, just not changing the mori system at all! Also, slugging for the 4k would go down massively.
-
Look at her, the definitive final girl of DBD. Nobody does it like she does.
-
thats… sort of my main issue, really. theres nothing major or groundbreaking about this patch.
the games already boring, so when nothing really changes… why would i want to keep playing something that puts me to sleep?

but if its such a good qol perk people deem it 100% necesary to do anything maybe the perk is too strong and needs changing?????
you disprvd ur own point. :/
If we're nerfing perks purely based on pick rate then Pain Res, Pop, and Corrupt all need to get nerfed even harder than they already have been, Lethal needs to be neutered, and BBQ needs to somehow get weaker. According to Nightlight (so not the most accurate but it's the most up to date stats available) Windows is seen 22% of the time, or less than once per match when you account for there being 4 survivors in a game.
Sometimes we just have to accept that there will always be a meta, and that having Windows be the meta decision is, has been, and always will be 100% better for the game than when every single build was some combination or IW/DH/DS/UB/SB/BT. Not everything in this game has to be nerfed into the ground, it's okay to have something be good.

I feel like the maps were overall better when they were going for more stylised realism than, yk, realism realism, but at the same time I have to give the art team their flowers. Most of the things they produce are genuinely gorgeous.

Even then on average you still get just as many points as you would with those perks back then with how many people bring BP offerings nowadays, not to mention you just get more points in general thanks to new score events that have been introduced.
Oh I know that objectively it's the same or even less, but it just felt nice getting to 4 stacks and seeing your total double.
-

Every time I read a post like this I cant help but think how much newer players would be tweaking at the old rate youd get BP, or how much more expensive Bloodwebs were.
But we had BBQ/WGLF so it felt better idk (I just miss post game bp bonuses on perks)
-
As others have mentioned, you're probably better off waiting to see if Genetic Limits makes it out of the PTB unscathed. But if you're going to buy him for Languid Touch, don't forget that he also comes with Weave Attunement, possibly the best aura reading perk in the game right now, and which is definitely making it at least another update without being touched.
-
Almost certainly tbh, if they can break a Modifier without changing a single thing then my confidence in the hook bug being fixed (when it wasn't during anniversary, at all, despite being told it was) is very slim.

easier /= better. a killer that efficiently hook 2 survivors 3 times is still better than a killer that slugs. 6 hooks to win is fastest way to win but it is also not that easy to do because you need track hooks, understand survivor positions and than there is always stealth survivor to deal with. I think that is why in part, for why they nerfing distortion because distortion makes efficient hooking/aka soft-tunnel much harder. By nerfing distortion, wall-hack perks will rain supreme making is very easy to efficiently soft-tunnel survivors out of the game.
i am sure you can debate whether tunneling or slugging have higher skill-caps.
This is why I was responding to someone saying that slugging should be made stronger so that it will be meta, not that it already is.

Why not? It would be actually cool to see him in the game. I dont know about of his creator story, but nothing could be that bad to cancel this potential cool collab
I think that giving a spotlight and Chapter space to the creation of a man convicted of sexual assault on a 12 year old boy, particularly when the creation in question is a direct reflection of his desires to sexually abuse children and teenagers, is a bad thing actually.
-
Does it fit? Maybe. Should it be in DBD? Absolutely not.
-
Listen sometimes I get map offering'd myself too many games in a row and I just want one normal match on Macmillan instead of being sent to the most survivor sided/killer sided maps possible. I just want a normal game on a mostly balanced set of maps in the game mode where perks are random and it's a lot more about your own skill, sue me.

Nah
Make is stronger
When easy things are the strongest, the games feel the worst and then very quickly decline. When everything that requires more effort and skill gives worse results, why bother even learning it? New players find a game that's deep on the surface but really is just shallow, and without anything to really learn because, again, why bother, they quit. Old players feel like their time learning that harder skill has been wasteful, and thus they quit too, leaving a game without anyone really to enjoy it, because why bother learning to enjoy it when the easiest stuff is the best stuff.

personally i think trying to have a bloodfeast alongside double fragments alongside chaos shuffle did the game in lol

I've seen some good hiding spots in Lery's.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/29X8VC2VDL3O/kkvh6polxap71.png
oh, you make a good point. reworked lerys has some very nifty spots on it, and finding them on midwich + rpd + hawkins can be a pain too… then there's swamp i guess, but those spawns havent changed since the maps first were introduced and the only reason they're annoying is because swamp is the only map where things can spawn right on the trial walls. reworked badham has 1 or 2 good spots but theyre offset by having 3 really obvious spots in main building and a guaranteed one in house of pain, i guess youve got dead dawg if you stretch… and thats it! 7 (maybe 8) realms of 20 have semi-alright to good totem spawns.

Slugging is stronger than hooking
And easier to win as well
It needs to become the new meta
Things that are easy should never be the meta. We've seen this time and time again - MDR/Yakuyoke Spirit, MDR/DCB Spirit, Forever Freddy, Alch Blight, 5 Blink Nurse, etc. Slugging being much easier than hooking should therefore make it weaker, because hooking should be the more rewarding of the two.
-
…have they ever tried to hide them?

"Oppressive" isn't exactly the word I'd use, considering you can easily take him on a 2 1/2 minute chase by just denying him T2 (if you're really fancy about it you can run into a zombie and still not get hit by his whip once lol)

Yea I wish it wasn't health state specific, it probably needs a cooldown tho, even tho I think it could be made a bit shorter, something like 20 seconds would be nice.
oh it definitely still needs one or the other lol
-
Complete opposite; with the exception of the time that I get cucked because the game decides it wasn't a fast vault, for some reason, Finesse likes to save me. Genuinely the best Survivor perk we've had released for atleast 2 years and while I wish it worked while injured/didn't have a cooldown (maybe not both) it's still a staple in all builds now because it fixes killer latency.

Empathic Connect already exists. Which is funny because it got buffed as well and everyone either forgot about it or complained since the aura reading effect was used by some players to sandbag. 💀
To be fair, I forget Yoichi exists rather frequently (I don't have an excuse)

i used to farm green medkits with it. the perk's death was inevitable with the downfall of op green medkits.
i think it should give a green med kit once and have a secondary (strong and consistent) functionality on top, just like scavenger and residual manifest. i don't think making the faster opening a permanent effect would save the perk.
I imagine a permanent aura reveal of yourself to all injured survivors (like a reverse empathy) could have its uses, especially for certain archive challenges in solo.

Layoffs this year in the industry have been insane, and there are reports (I have no official sources, just reports) that the entire Midwinter studio has been shut down following Project T being cancelled. BHVR bought this studio back in 2022, and now if the reports are to be believed that's yet another talented group of people out of a job and because it's been officially cancelled without anything public going live (since the first tests weren't allowed to be shown publicly) they've got nothing to show for the past 2 years of work, either.
I feel so sorry for everyone involved, and disgusted at the BHVR higher ups who have allowed yet more layoffs under their watch, if true.
Reports are confirmed by former employees btw that the Seattle office has been shut down "following a diligent risk assessment" (lol). Comes despite playtest results being "almost entirely positive", with one former staff member claiming that the feedback gave it 92/100 in terms of fun and replayability.
Absolutely disgusting.

Unless the survivor is running in a straight line, aura doesn't mean Pyramid can simply see and hit them through walls. They can always dodge at the last second and negate your play.
They can, which is where the fun of predicting them comes from. You don't use the aura to aim where they are, you use it to see how they play and then adapt your own playstyle to that. That's what makes it fun.
-

Yeah. I'm not gonna fight you on that (silent) hill. I walk up to your hill and pay my respects. The Silent Hill DBD theme is legendary. The hollow, windy flute over that same kind of grindy, dirge-like drumbeat… the vibes are immaculate.
Thanks for the link, I needed some good BGM and that's one of my favorites for good reason.
If it's BGM you're after may I present the full Akira Yamaoka remix
-
I mean, Silent Hill is just never being beaten I'm afraid. Akira Yamaoka himself remixing everything was insane, but the Silent Hill lobby music is just too good. Michel F April collabing with Akira Yamaoka was the best things to happen to DBD music and this is a hill I am willing to die on.
I may be biased because I main Pyramid Head, but I've never actually played a Silent Hill game (yet). And I mean - just listen. It speaks for itself.

It's on surprise attacks, which, if I remember correctly, Is a basic attack 5 seconds after uncloaking, which gets harder to do against better survivors.
Regardless, Vecna and Wraith are different in strenght and abilability of this resource, so they get different timers therefore.
Wraith's entire power involves using your increased lunge post uncloak to shut down loops, get free first hits, and force out pallets. It genuinely feels harder to not get a Surprise Attack than it does to get one in most matches.
-
@Sngfun said:
Because it would give sloppy for an addon slot instead of a perk, and it would be pretty strong because of that.
Okay but Wraith's "Blind Warrior - White" gives it for 70 seconds and is only Rare (and both are fairly easy to trigger) and isn't an issue
