Have you played with PC players? They're the biggest babies I've ever gamed with. They go down in seconds as most of 'em can't loop and then either dc or kill themselves on hook. And if they don't kill themselves on hook they're doing stupid stuff like searching chests when gens need to be popped. So, ya, not a fan. If it wasn't for the fact that PC killers are a challenge compared to console killers I'd be turning crossplay permanently off.
Funnily enough this is my exact experience with console players. Maybe, just maybe, people are biased based on their experiences.

:)
May hate you but at least you're funny about it
-
Good news, everyone would lobby dodge until they found each other in a match. My friends and I have done it before and we'd do it again because we just want to have some fun; alternatively we'd all just talk to each other and play a different game because that'd be unfun as all hell. If you're gonna nerf SWF do it in a way that doesn't mean we need to hold M1 for even longer please.
Also, instead of nerfing swf how about buffing solos? Then buffing killers accordingly? They said they'd do that about 2-3 years ago and never did.
SWF isn't the big bad boogyman, and a lot of the time it isn't sweat squads. If you keep blaming swf for what could easily be a solo team (I know in pre-game chat someone told all of us to use OoO and at least I was solo, they sent us to Midwich and there were 3 Objects, got accused of being a 4man try hard swf that just wanted to bully and I was like no) then you'll never improve.

Nurse can't get stunned in fatigue. And you better hope they don't touch her, because they won't fix her bugs, they will nerf her into the ground, even though shes imo the most balanced killer in the game. Maybe I'm biased since i main her though.
This isn't a thread on Nurse balance but I'd say you're definitely biased in that view; Nurse isn't the most balanced killer, she is the most overpowered killer in the entirety of DBD, including MDR+Yakuyoke Spirit. However the reason why so few people complain about her is because the skill floor and ceiling of Nurse is so stupidly high that you both rarely see her and to maximise her potential must put in a tonne of hours into her. If there were more people good at Nurse then there'd be more complaints about her, because the only thing you can do vs a god Nurse is to not get seen. She's definitely far from balanced but I don't think the devs need to nerf her due to her being so hard to play; it's good to have something strong in a game after all that you have to learn to use *cough* spirit *cough*.

Well if you just abandon every single chase no matter how close you are to winning it just because of that oh so precious Tinkerer then congrats you're one of the reasons I rarely play survivor

So, what's the survivor approved Blight build?
I wouldn't know, I rarely play survivor but if I were to guess if say literally anything else, or even if you use RuinDyingTinkerer just don't drop everything and run as soon as you get that sweet Tinkerer even if you're about to win the chase. You can afford to lose a singular generator.

Spies from the shadows, pop, (but thats pushing it) shadowborn, deadmans switch and maybe BBQ if you dont use its aura reading.
Personally I feel like a good Blight build could be Corrupt, PGTW, BBQ, and maybe I'm All Ears? I don't play too much Blight but I feel like that could be pretty good on him. Maybe PGTW/Bamboozle/BBQ/Surge.
-
He can be pretty fun provided they're running a build that doesn't consist of Hex: Ruin, Hex: Undying, BBQ, and Tinkerer, and as soon as they get that sweet sweet tinkerer proc they abandon all chase regardless of how skilled the person is to protect their oh-so-precious gens. Then it's just boring, especially in solo, when you have little baby Meg who can't last longer than 2 seconds, Claudette in the corner doing nothing productive, and David with No Mither deciding to tbag, get hit, and dc.
Provided they have some ounce of skill and/or creativity, they can be pretty fun and overall imho is balanced.

This can be done as any killer in some basements, most notably the blood lodge basement. It's pretty ######### scummy but then again, bodyblocking is an intended feature
AFAIK if the killer stays at a certain point on a staircase for too long (such as the basement) their hitbox capsule actually shrinks to allow survivors to squeeze past them, which works for everyone but twins.
-
@CheyeneKL said:
Was there no way to drop down past them? If there truly is no way that you can get past them (I figure you can't kick Victor in this situation? I haven't played against Twins enough to know) then yeah that definitely should be fixed LOL
Even if it's a basement similar to shack and you can drop down past the Twins, it doesn't do much considering they can still sit there and block the stairs, preventing you from escaping and still leaving you trapped.
-
God no I absutely despise it and I genuinely don't understand why anyone would willingly go to that map. The gameplay is incredibly boring, with one of two choices to play: either stealth 100 or run to main building. Platform gens up the wazoo, but most of the pallets are unsafe as all hell so have fun trying to play those. Random pallet spawns? Good luck buddy they're almost all identical.
It's just dull and monotonous and I despise it.

someone I merely game with and someone who will help me move are 2 different things. Someone who can call in the middle of the night because the car broke down or they had to much drink. Big diff between IRL friend and “survivor with friends”. Let’s call it what it is, arranged team. That’s what they were called before this “friends” non-sense the consoles are shoveling. What does a honest criticism of some lame, corporate manufactured label have to do with being hurt. Come on now, 2 parrots with the same response. Try to concoct an original response at least or just go on to another thread.
We're well aware of the difference between online friends and real life friends. The difference here being that lots of my irl friends are also friends that I play with, and even those that I don't know irl like @TurboTOne, @ClaudioFrosty, or @Donkerydoo are definitely people I'd trust to help me move, or call at 2am and talk about issues whilst crying uncontrollably into a pillow, or even drag out to eat something with. If it wasn't for the, you know, global pandemic I'd have met each of them irl by now. And I know this isn't personally directed towards me but I just want to make the point that you can very easily have online friends who fill the real friend category.
The consoles aren't "shovelling" something, they've been known as "friends" for years- y e a r s.
Also I'd have loved to "concoct an original response" as you so eloquently put it but the first one was so perfect for it.
I don't quite get your point here, except that maybe you're digging up some deep-seated trust issues or you've been betrayed by someone you thought was a friend, in which case the response of "who hurt you" is too perfect.

You know the C average barely high school grad that’s lists “content creator” and sneaker aficionado on linked in, (code for sneaker bot scalper). Are they really a “friend”. No, he's a free character. He may have cost BHVR money to licence however he's a free character available from the start, like David or Nea

Maybe Bubba was an after thought? Now that you mention it most other license killers came with a map.
Freddy has Bedham. Pig has The Game. Demo has Hawkins. Mikey has Haddionfield.
GF doesn't have his own map but it's not the real GF. They only got the rights to use the costume so they had to invent someone to wear it.
They also have survivors and are more expensive, thus they are "Chapters" and not "Paragraphs". The 4 Paragraphs iirc are Ash Vs Evil Dead (Ashley J Williams), Leatherface (Cannibal), Ghost Face (Ghostface), and Left 4 Dead (William "Bill" Overbeck), all of which don't have an alternate survivor/killer or map.

Umm. You do know another Survivor can just kick Victor at the top of the stairs. I personally wouldn't class this as an "Exploit" but a Technique, as it doesn't give the killer an advantage and incentivizes them to lose the game. Like I said another survivor can kick Victor which would prevent this situation.
If someone is controlling Victor they cannot be kicked.

It took me literally 3 days to consistently 4k as her without using add-ons or RuinDying. She's incredibly easy to play imho, and this is coming from someone who used to main Freddy.
-
Queues are basically instant for me during those hours (from like 4pm to 3am lol) so they're usually some poor solo souls that've been waiting for 7 years only to find out there's a single red rank among them and the rest are rank 16s. I go into it expecting to play my fairest and usually I can and still do well.
However during the day, oh boy queues take forever and are those teams sweaty. I actually have to try in those cases.
-
So long as it isn't something stupid like "Blink twice and grab a survivor 3 times. Complete this challenge in a single trial" and is something closer to "Blink and hit a survivor 10 times" then I think I could manage this.
Though it may just be me waiting at the exit gates to let them hit & down me, it's the thought that counts ig.

I wanna thank you all for helping me out (or trying to, anyway. I already run NOED, I don't want to frustrate survivors anymore than that, and camping is painfully boring anyway).
I wanna tell you all something.... I can't access youtube. The reasons are complicated and convoluted, but there's a reason I asked the forums instead of just consulting the youtube algorithm.
Special thanks to Good Boy Karu. I was still breaking pallets before this.
Ayo, it's cool! Some pallets like the one at the Crane you'll want to break too, because it's worth noting how his power works in terms of slopes:
You can shoot down some slopes that aren't too steep, but you cannot shoot up a slope. So pallets like the Crane pallet where they can run uphill are especially... meh for your power.
I'd suggest against using NOED on him, though, because you'll be using your M2 (secondary power) a lot of the time and so you won't get much value out of Exposed- out of using only his perks and basic perks I'd suggest this build:
Sloppy Butcher, Trial of Torment, Spies from the Shadows, and Iron Grasp. I'd also say to level up Ghostface soon, because the perk "I'm All Ears" is a genuine Godsend on him (obviously the usual killer tip of get BBQ ASAP) applies. Also, levelling up The Plague is good, because Infectious Fright is helpful, as is Corrupt Intervention.
Furthermore, I'd say to keep the torment for when it's needed. Don't just cage people left right and centre, you get a lot more pressure through hooks than through cages because it takes longer to get back into the game. Use a cage when people have been recently unhooked, or when you can start a new chase almost instantly.
Best of luck buddy :)
-
Genuinely I was expecting a salty reply about people being too sensitive, thanks for changing the title though :)

How about we don't compare a perk in a video game to a terminal illness, seems like a great start.Nvm thanks man -

@Sukyandaru said:
Hey so I'm still fairly new to this game, according to my switch I have just over 70ish hours
I have a few clarification questions / items I'd like any and all input on.
Okay - So the first item is decoding some of the leet speak on the forum so I can read the thread better:
What do the following terms mean?:
BPS -
M1 - i assume this means meta or top teir
SWF - Survive with friends i think
EGC -
OoO -
NOED - I do beleive this one means "No One Escapes Death"
BT -
DS - I also beleive this one is "Desisve Strike"
Also I play both sides Killer and Survivor and have some questions about each side.
For Survivors:
What are some of the "meta" or "Top Teir" Perks or just generally good ones.
As far as I'm aware I know EITHER Sprint Burst or Dead Hard are good optinos, along with Kindred is nice. I see a lot of people using Self Care but it just seems like the heal takes FOREVER
For Killers:
What are some of the "Meta or "Top Teir" Perks or just generally good ones:
As far as I'm aware: Hex: Ruin, And Undying are solid
Also I know Nurse is probably the best Killer but extremely hard to learn, tips on her would be very helpful and finally whats an easy killer to learn to play that performs fairly well so I can hopefully become a more confident killer.
Thanks for the read, as I said any info is very helpful and sorry for the long post.
BPS- Can either mean "Bloodpoints" (less common, people usually will use just "bp") or "Bloody Party Streamers" (more common), an offering for survivors and killers that increases their bloodpoint gain by 100% post-trial. Basically, double bloodpoints.
M1- Mouse 1, the button used for most interactions in the game (lunging or grabbing as killer, and repairing/healing/sabotaging as survivor).
SWF- Survive With Friends, usually people mean SWF on comms, which is playing SWF whilst communicating with other people on your team.
EGC- Endgame collapse, a mechanic introduced that kills all remaining survivors when the timer elapses. It's 2 minutes long, although whenever a survivor is in the dying state or hooked it progresses at 50% the normal speed. It's triggered whenever the hatch is closed or the first exit gate is opened, and no generators can be repaired whilst the EGC is in session. Once started, there is no way to stop it.
OoO- Object of Obsession:
NOED- Hex: No One Escapes Death
BT- Borrowed Time:
DS- Decisive Strike:
As for the other questions:
Survivor meta
The current meta perk build is:
- Decisive Strike
- Dead Hard/Sprint Burst
- Iron Will
- Unbreakable
Other good choices are:
- Borrowed Time
- Lithe/Balanced Landing/Head On (don't run more than one Exhaustion perk though)
- Kindred
- Spine Chill
- Resilience
killer meta
The current meta perk build is:
- Hex: Undying
- Hex: Ruin
- Barbeque and Chili (BBQ)
- Killer dependant (as in, it depends on the killer you're playing).
However, RuinDying (the name for the Ruin Undying combo) is being nerfed soon, so there'll be 2 new meta builds depending on the killer:
- Hex: Undying
- Hex: Devour Hope
- BBQ
- Killer dependant
Or
- Pop Goes The Weasel (PGTW)
- BBQ
- Corrupt Intervention
- Killer dependant
Some other solid perks:
- Save The Best For Last (good on killers who use their primary attack more)
- I'm All Ears (good on killers like Nurse or Pyramid Head).
Good killers
The best tip I can give for Nurse is to just... play her. Just keep playing her over and over without add-ons and eventually you'll learn her. That's the only real advice for it.
Other strong killers include Spirit (which her "killer dependant" perk would be Stridor for definite, which makes the breathing of survivors 25% louder and injured sounds 50% louder). She doesn't take that much skill to use, though you'll want to at least have basic knowledge of how the game functions and survivors play, and she's incredibly strong. Also there's Freddy ("The Nightmare"), who's very very easy to play but one of the best killers in the game.
Personally though, I suggest learning a weaker killer first, such as Wraith or Legion. This will teach you transferrable skills that apply to all killers, such as "moonwalking" (walking backwards to hide the red light), countering loops ("looping" being the action of running around a structure several times to maximise distance), or good pathing.
Finally, playing survivor is one of the best tips I can give to getting better as killer. Once you know how a survivor will play, you can counter what they do very effectively.
That wraps it up; if you have any more questions please don't hesitate to ask!!

That’s a cute build, that really does mean the survivors are bad.
Try taking it into a 4 man rank 1 SWF or these guys.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/5VK72DMZW69L/1b15e23f-153d-44d3-bde3-0cd9dd91ce4a.png
Double key swap and a coldwind offering. I’m rank 2 cause I love tombstone Myers and 1 shot killers. I haven’t been using ruin for weeks.
I tunnel and camp regularly. If you think it’s bad strategy I can link you the VODs of a guy going on a 300+ win streak doing it?
But I guess a 99% win ratio is a bad strategy
Well I'd absolutely love to try it vs these guys and whenever one of them decides to show up in my lobby I'll give it a shot! The fact that I have done in the past doesn't seem to matter to you rather unfortunately but I'll make an attempt to get another despite the fact the system is currently borked.
Had I recorded them I'd love to send you my current winstreaks as PH without doing either of those things (can give you my Freddy one but that really doesn't say much because it's Freddy) but unfortunately I don't record all of my games and just have Shadowplay on in case there's a hacker.
I don't tunnel nor camp at all and I'm doing just fine. I get teams like this a lot vs Wraith, and it's not usually that large of an issue; still always at least 2k. Speed Limiter Bubba? You betcha I've got a 4k streak as him as well.
Again, maybe you're just bad at the game. But no, I'm the inexperienced one because I recognise that you don't have to tunnel and camp to kill people.
Okay honey xo
-
@bkn said:
why do you guys always make the killer responsible for YOUR fun...
And killer not camping/tunneling when needed is playing bad on purpose. How can it be fun knowing the other side lets you win?
Because it shows that other people recognise this is a game that people are playing to have fun, and that everyone in that match is able to have some. Nobody is, of course, responsible for your fun and if you want to ruin it for the other side then nobody can stop you, but if you don't play in a way that's enjoyable for the other side you lose any and all rights to complain about what the other side do.
If you wanna genrush don't complain when you're camped/tunneled.
If you wanna camp/tunnel don't complain when you get genrushed and tbagged.
If you don't do those things then of course you can complain about the other side being dicks.
It's a video game. It's meant to be for fun above all else. As soon as this community leans that the better.

I try to play as killer how I'd want the killer to play when I'm survivor so I like to be as fair as I can be :)

A killer that follows the rule book? That only means you are going against boosted survivors. I hate to tell you.
You can only play nice in this game with ruin undying or if the survivors are garbage. Luckily, most survivors are garbage; because ruin undying is being canned.
I only go against boosted survivors?
Damn, I didn't realise that I've never once faced a good survivor. Didn't realise that after 3 years of rank 1 I've never once at all faced someone who's good at the game. Thanks for enlightening me mr-I've-never-seen-your-gameplay, I'm really glad you can judge my exact playstyle based on that! It's really helpful bro.
Also, Mindbreaker/PGTW/BBQ/I'm All Ears. No RuinDying there anymore, hasn't been for 2 weeks and I'm still winning.
Maybe, just maybe, you're not as good as you think you are.

You can’t split pressure with a non one shot killer unless the survivors are terrible. Medkits completely counter any hit and run strategy. The only pressure is a slug, or murdering someone outright.
Pyramid head can kill someone so quickly if you know how to use him, you will eat a DS from their first hook as you go to place them on death hook sometimes. Sorry if you are too inexperienced to have seen that yourself.
“good day” aka I got no more logical arguments
"if you know how to use him, you will eat a DS from their first hook as you go to place them on death hook sometimes. Sorry if you are too inexperienced to have seen that yourself."
Hey @Yamaoka remember that thread where I gave you Pyramid Head gameplay? Sorry man apparently I don't know how to play him and I'm really inexperienced.
It's not like I've put 500+ hours into exclusively him or anything.
It's not like I main the guy or anything.
It's not like I've streamed it to people and they've said I'm one of the best or anything.
Clearly I'm inexperienced as a killer because I'm good enough at the game to not need to tunnel people instantly.
My bad.

Yeah, I just do it all the time because it doesn’t work. Getting someone completely defenseless who is already injured is a bad strategy. With one of the most powerful chasing killers in the game. Are you serious?
Considering how from my own personal experience it doesn't work particularly effectively in comparison to splitting pressure against a coordinated team and you're significantly better off splitting pressure across multiple survivors, yes I am 100% serious have a nice day.

I'm fairly new to the game, but I've been a fan of it for a long time. I don't have a character above level 21, so I don't have access to any teachables yet.
I don't have many killers, so I would like to know which ones to power level for their perks.
Some basic strategies for killers in general would be appreciated, and strategies for good ol' Pyramid Head would be even more so.
NOBODY HAS SAID THIS YET SO HI!!
My #1 piece of advice to anyone, absolutely anyone, learning Pyramid Head is this:
DO NOT BREAK PALLETS.
Obviously there are some exceptions to the rule, for example Shack pallet/other god pallets but for the record you do not want to be breaking pallets.
His power shines when people are stuck in animations and you can get easy hits on them with POTD (Punishment Of The Damned). Breaking pallets both wastes your time and gives you less opportunities for animation locked hits.
Most of the advice given here is also pretty solid tho (except the tunneling one, which is not a good idea. Tunnel someone from the start of the game and people will leave them in the cage just to rush gens).
-
@SilentPill said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1898823#Comment_1898823
What? That is terrible advice. One of the best ways to play Pyramid is send someone to a cage and then immediately tunnel them once they are rescued. You can kill people significantly faster than usual by doing that and bypass DS.
I would only hook on Pyramid head if I was behind and needed to camp someone.
This is one of the least efficient ways of playing Pyramid Head and tunneling one survivor out of the game with cages from the start against a team who realise you're doing this will lose you the game.

The original RE2 had Nemesis
Nemesis hunts former S.T.A.R.S members.
Mr X (T-00) hunts the survivors of the RPD (Resident Evil 2 2019)/the sample of the G-Virus (Resident Evil 2 1998).
Nemesis appears in Resident Evil 3: Nemesis (1999), and Resident Evil 3 (2020).
Mr X appears in Resident Evil 2 (2019) and Resident Evil 2 (1998).
Edit: For the real kicker.

So... The Resident Evil 3 remake, which was very recent and probably a lot easier to get because the game was closer to development ending if not already out (it came out March/April 2020), instead of the most recent RE Village (releasing May 7th iirc) and so things would be a lot easier.

Interesting an Intoxicated effect. Maybe sway like a killer dealing with Boil Over, vision blurs in and out, bright lights make it worse, and skill checks oh Entity save you if you're trying to hit skill checks...
This is cool but also would have to be a no from me. I already suffer from some pretty bad headaches and nausea when doing... Basically anything, and it makes Oni, Blight, and Billy completely off limits, with Nurse taking ages to get used to.
Survivor thankfully I've gotten used to, and it's mostly gone now. This status effect would bring it all back tenfold and I may have to genuinely quit the game over it, depending on how commonly used it is, because I could not deal with this.
After the recent debacle around colourblind settings let's not remove mroe of the playerbase.

oh ok. i remember when people blindly pre-ordered resident evil 3 because of the success of re2 and look how that one turned out. the only masterpiece resident evil franchise has is the first one's hd remaster, beyond that is good, mediocre or pure trash.
If I'm being honest the rese 2make and rese7 were both absolute god-tier games that I adore playing. I'd rank them significantly better than "good".

They are losers. Ignore them. DBD is their life. They can’t even criticize a game and still like it so they attack. Some of them are devs/employees too.
-Employees of BHVR are very obvious because they have a special tag and background, like Mod or Dev.
-They can criticise a game on things that need criticising. Cross-play having been released with, like, 0 bugs and a net positive doesn't need critiquing. If you have an issue with an optional feature than disable it. It's like turning off the AC because it's too cold but then complaining it's too warm.
-Nobody has been attacked in this thread.
-There was no need to necro a 5 month old thread.
