What the HELL does SKILL have to do with GEN TIMES being too fast. Ive consistently been a rank 1 killer since ive been playing this game. I 3-4k regularly.
The generator repairs, without the old ruin, which was FAR superior, are too ######### fast.
Anyone with more than 2 competing brain cells duking it out in a deathmatch could see that.
It takes only 2 or 3 minutes to complete all the gens with 3 survivors on them right now. The new ruin is garbage against good survivors, period. The average kill rate in high ranks is well under 2 per match for all killers besides the facecamping leatherface, because of how stupidly fast the games are over.
Its so obvious you would have to be super oblivious not to see it.
I have had plenty of games where i literally made zero mistakes and still only killed 1 person because everyone was gen rushing, thats a BIG ISSUE.
hope that the starting phase will balance the game

Have you seen statistics on this? Any streamers I watch is 3k+ on average, both of my friends who play killer also average 3k+ and one was a green rank a few days ago that just got up to rank 6 and only has 200 hours on the game.
If people are averaging less than 2, that's not on the game balance. That's on their poor game play. If my friend with 200 hours in the game can do it, so can others, and he makes A LOT of mistakes in his matches. He streams it for my other killer main friend and I on Discord.
Many killer mains that play really well average a high kill ratio, which is indictive of the game balance right now. They play the killer optimally, we don't. They will still get stomped against really strong survivors, but again, that is very obviously far and few as I see less than a handful of games where a streamer gets less than a 3k during their stream.
like rank 6 is same as rank 1 LUL

It depends in the size of the mistake, overextending a chase in a very safe spot is a huge mistake, one of the worst in my opinion, it would be the equivalent of getting downed while attempting to body block a killer so now he has 2 hooked people in the same area (this is espcially grave if the other 2 standing are already hurt), in both scenarios one side has made a fatal mistake and unless the other screws it big time things are not going to end well.
You cant compare overextending chases to taking a medium vault or dropping a pallet one loop earlier, those are mild mistakes akin of missing a hit on open field or getting juked for 5 seconds (you shouldnt lose for 1 or 2 of those and if you do, you have made way more mistakes and you dont notice them).
ok i will correct myself, survivor are doing the objective in 4 and the killer is alone. That's all. They are adding the start of the match phase so i don't see why this discussion should continue.

People have a very selective memory, they will always remember that one match where they got stomped against 4 gods but the 100 matches where they steamrolled Solos fade away very fast.
Im rank1 at both roles and godly SWF are SUPER rare, playing Myers and Jigsaw mostly (supposedly 2 not very good killer or so people say), I get 4k way more times than 0k and 3k way more times than 1k or 2k, I could even get more 4k if I slugged the penultimate guy to avoid hatch escapes but Im not that sweaty and I dont really care that much for that extra kill.
I think a lot of the complains in this game (from both roles) come from the inability of noticing your own mistakes, I rarely feel cheated if I get 0K or sacrficied unless I get an insane map with awful gen setup like Mother's Dwelling as killer or facecamped as Survivor, I can usually trace my defeats to a string of mistakes from my part or my teammates. I remember one day a very good streamer was complaining about gentimes against a premade of 4 with very strong toolboxes (before their nerf) and people were saying there was nothing he could, yet he got 4K and you could notice in the video several mistakes from his part but it didnt matter, he said there was nothing he could do and it was like Imperial truth.
the point is that if survivors make mistakes they are pretty much fine if they are overall goos, but killers can ######### all the match for just one only mistake like a long chase because the survivor is good

I'm more of a agressive Legion, I use mostly chase perks.
My build is Bamboozle, Enduring, Spirit Fury and BBQ + the two fatigue addons.
bbq is a tracking perk kinda

@AhoyWolf said:
I'm a Legion main and I don't use Discordance, also when playing against Legion you as a Survivor need to know when to heal and when to stay injured and do gens, so many times when I injured a Survivor with Feral Frenzy they will just heal up again, instead of doing gens, giving me time to kill them all.
discordance is pretty good on legion. If you don't use it you should use some tracking perks.
-
devs said that they are adding something new like endgame collapse but at the start that will help killers at the beginning.

a lot: clown, pyramid head, pig, hag, plague, myers, freddy, deathslinger, leatherface and ghostface

Overall the game is balanced around slowdown perks not base speed. It's funny how much easier the game is now that I can run builds like Ruin, Surge, Pop, Surveillance.
Slow down is pretty much mandatory if the survivors are moderately capable of holding m1. Ruin tends to be the big one for me, if it stays up my split pressure style works. If it goes down having a backup plan helps though isn't as strong.

No gens are fine. So make gens slower to give you more time to Mori tunneled survivors and camp? Nahh. That’s not fun. You know what they need to fix instead? They need to fix Killers hitting survivors through walls. Does the killers lunge attack cover more distance now? Because it feels like it. Too easy for killers. I’ve played them so don’t even try me with the you are a “survivor main” nonsense.
Latency makes strange hits.

Hahaaaaaaaaaaaaa
👉😎👉
(Of course you could always get Clown if you've got enough shards. Bamboozle is a good chase perk and Coulrophobia can be used to add even more pressure in anti-heal builds, and hopefully he gets buffed a second time in the future because the one change [which was significant I won't lie] was not enough, there's enough attention on the character that I think it's reasonable to expect more changes for him in the future.)
i have 3500 shards at the moment, if pop doesn't POP OUT in the shrine i'll buy clown, i even need bamboozle for legion (my first main UwU)
-
@Seiko300 said:
Pop is a really good slowdown perk but only if you're getting use out of it, which is really up to you. If I have pop active I would make sure to patrol gens check which has the most progress (within the allotted time of course, some maps are too large to traverse back and forth so you just gotta pick) and then you kick that one.
In that time if you see a survivor, it's better to let them go and run to safety while you have pop up, even if they're injured because what may seem like an easy down can all of a sudden escalate into a 3 minute chase and you lose all of your pressure that way. Prioritize kicking gens when you're running pop especially when it is active, even if that gen doesn't have that much progress on it kick it anyway. It'll slow them down and that's what matters
I had the opposite problem playing Clown a couple days ago, it was one of my really really good matches and I was finding and securing downs so quickly I never had the opportunity to use pop because I was bouncing from chase to chase and finishing them really quickly. That's a good problem to have because in those instances, the pressure of your presence alone is enough to slow the game down, but that's not going to happen every time and it's certainly not something I would bank on.
thanks! i hope pop POPS out in the shrine :D

"-game is unbalanced"
Yes.
People have done the math many, many times. If the survivors don't waste time, split up and just do gens you literally don't have the time even with sub 15 second chases when you add in pick up, carry, hooking, travel, search time, etc etc.
Bar some off scenarios, every 1 second you use, is 3 seconds the survivors have on gens. That's assuming you are chasing 1 survivor. That's why even a measly say 15 seconds of pick up, carry, and hook time which may seem minuscule is literally more than half an entire gens time...now multiply that for each downed survivor..with 15 second chases even.
This is also before you even throw in the multiple second chance perks on all 4 survivors....
The time for each sides objective isn't even remotely in the same ball park.
so i have to get gen regression perks, all right thanks all!
-
what about surge + pop? you m1 someone and stop near gen, then with shred you see which gen are they working on, travel there use pop and start a possible chase
-
@Dead_by_Gadfly said:
No, but some sort of gen slowdown perk for most killers is. As an example ruin + survelliance, or thanta on legion/plague.

my idea: frenzy is still the same but when you start frenzy you have infinite frenzy until you hit someone. if you end frenzy before hitting someone you have 1-2 second cooldown. After you hit someone the power start decreasing as normal. The more you get hit chains the less the cooldown after ending frenzy. I think that is good because you are being rewarded for chains, that is not an easy thing because you need to know if you can get to a survivor with your remaining power and you have map mobility, another thing that legion needs.
opinions?

Oh and I forgot to add this, missing a swing will still instantly end the Frenzy. So if you can 360 or bait a hit, Legion goes into a stun.
that's all? too op man really, i understand that you are main legion and want him strong but that would make him really too strong
-
@Zaitsev said:

By that logic, every killer that has an autoregenerating power is OP. So Ghostface and Hillbilly are OP? Oni is OP?
in order to have a down you have to do something. Oni has to first injure people and get blood, ghostface needa to stalk. Hillbilly's chainsaw is hard to control. Legion just needs to recharge the power and then he has faster movement speed and can down in 2 hits?
-
@Zaitsev said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1391880#Comment_1391880
Why shouldnt they? Its still like a worse version of Hillbilly and Oni, because you still need to hit them twice to down them
that's too op! you get a free down because... you recharged your power! what's the point of it?
-
@Zaitsev said:
Without a doubt, Legion is the worst killer at the moment. Not unusuably bad, but still pretty awful.
I personally think Feral Frenzy needs some changes. For one, it shouldnt decrease on basic attacks. That worked for Old Legion, not this one. Maybe if Feral Frenzy could still down people, it would be justified. But in their current state, its an unneeded downside.
I think Feral Frenzy should last forever until you get a hit, and THEN the meter starts draining. Cancelling the ability early should also not inflict the fatigue stun. Oni can cancel out of his charge without penalty, why cant Legion?
Feral Frenzy can now down people again, completely bypassing the Deep Wounds state. The first hit applies Deep Wounds, the second hit will down. The current penalty for basic attacking survivors will still apply, because now it makes sense. The hit cooldown where Legion wipes their knife on their sleeve after a FF hit would need to be slightly longer.
Legion can still vault windows and pallets like they always could. And of course, they can see scratch marks and blood during Frenzy like they should have been able to.
all good except for downing with frenzy

And only certain killers are capable of doing all of these. There is a roster of 20 killers and only three of them are viable (nurse, spirit and Billy) enough to do all objectives. The other 17 aren't viable whatsoever. I want to be able to have a play all killers with a good chance of success.
this boi right here is completely right. Agree on all.

i wanted to write a post but i surrend, everyone has different opinions and we'll never get to a point. bhvr will never fix gens and story is ended.

for what i remember they said they'll add some engame collapse but at the start right?

@Schinsly said:
The game is honestly really balanced. The ONLY time the game is unbalanced is with a coordinated 4 man SWF. And thats like every 1/20 games for me as killer. Maybe buff some lower tier killers but the game isn't in a bad state rn.
that's true but i would say that even 3 swf with one random are strong enough. I get them like every 8/10 so idk maybe i'm unlucky, but a game is not based on "i hope i don't get a swf".
-
Agree on all
-
@douggie123 said:
The generators get repaired way too quickly. Byt time you catch your first survivor 2 gens are popped. This is pointless for killer, they might as well just sit in the corner for the entire match. Fix generator speeds devs or bring old ruin back. Toolboxes may have been nerfed but it still doesn't stop the speed of the generators. Fix the gens. Because I think I speak for a lot of the killers when I say playing killer isn't fun it's boring. I know you won't listen but I hope you do. As a lot of killers think the same.
agree with you! Gen speeds are fine for solo queue, but for swf are not. Thanks to coordination they can win the game easy. Who is going for the save? you. What gen are you doing? this one. WHERE IS THE KILLER? Even big dbd streamers say that gen speeds for swf are not fine. The games just relay on survivors mistake, that's all.

yeah legion is good but is easy counterable. He has like nothing map pressure power. If you get a swf that split up and gen rush you have no chance of winning with 4k

no matter what the devs do that won’t change. Most players aren’t immersed Claudettes. The game isn’t actually scary. They won’t be able to force players to suddenly be scared.
survivor should be scared in the sense that going near them should not be the thing to do

If they do that you should be happy. That's 1 person never doing gens. You see someone clicking and teabagging it's because they WANT you to get tilted and chase them for too much time. You need to be able to just walk past them and let them gimp the team by not doing ######### lol
all 4 do that when i chase them. I am not talking about winning or losing, i am talking about the attitude

@OhMyWords said:
I know some of you are tired about damn legion. Worst designed killer, a complete failure, skin magnet, boring, etc.
To the hear me out part. I have been asking for this for a long time. I mean about a year has passed since the first request, but now a new idea just hit me.
I was watching the darkness among us spotlight (as part of my daily routine). While i was watching, i remembered what the narrator said. "Missed attacks have a shorter cooldown" I'm not going to recommend stuff that has already been suggested like lower power gauge or allow a bit more misses before ending the power.
I replayed the spotlight, and i saw the oldest animation for hitting someone already afflicted with deep wounds, in feral frenzy. It is a much slower version of hitting someone not afflicted with deep wounds in feral frenzy.
Since that animation does not really exist anymore, i was thinking that it could replace the miss penalty. Instead of ending the power, missing a hit will cause this animation to play. This animation should be 2 seconds long. Check it out at 2:22 in the official video.
Here's why this idea is a good replacement. it will not end the power, but it will still take off 2 seconds of the remaining power time. If legion were to miss a hit with the last few seconds of their power he most likely wont score it afterwards. The benefit of this for legion is that he wont eat a 4 second stun with the whole gauge emptied and have a chance at scoring a hit if they weren't already drained too much.
It's true that missing a hit can be caused by limited camera, aim dressing (more like auto aim), or the fact that legion can be juked. Yep, when you don't have much duration left by the time you get close to a survivor, you want to take a shot. When they vault and legion follows, the survivor is usually on the right side or left side. The camera is not wide enough to see both sides right after the vault, so it's more or less a guess if there is not much power duration left.
By the way this animation won't play if legion misses at the last second because 6 seconds of stun is extremely long. Not even nurse has that.
Example usage of this change: Legion wants to hit a survivor but they have sprint burst. To give legion a chance to hit that survivor without going into 4 second cd with a 20 second recharge time on top of survivors already split up by that time, legion goes into this slowed animation for 2 seconds. It is now possible for him to catch up, but it is not a guarantee, especially if that survivor reaches a loop.
example where this change wont do anything: Legion has only a few seconds left in his power. He vaults a window and lunges to try his chance. The legion misses and goes into cooldown like normal. This change isn't effective in scenarios like these.
In conclusion, this change will give the legion another chance at scoring a hit if they had a good amount of duration left. So if legion missed a hit because his power duration emptied he still goes into 4 seconds cooldown emptied.
I think this is a reasonable change, especially for console and mobile legion players. @Peanits @Almo @not_Queen
they could add that but is not what legion needs lol

I don't have an S-category because i don't think there are any completely broken killers right now. I also don't like Tiermaker lol.
A+ = Nurse
A = Spirit, Freddy
A- = Oni, Hillbilly
B+ = Doctor, Huntress, Pyramid Head
B = Deathslinger, Hag, Pig, Ghostface, Plague
B- = Myers, Legion
C = Wraith, Trapper, Demogorgon
D = Clown, Leatherface
Nurse is still very good, i played against some crazy russian Nurse Players lately.
Some saying that Oni has the worst early game, i don't think it's the worst. And as soon as he gets going, he has his ability almost everytime, if played halfway decent. His M2 has a crazy hitbox and is easy to land if you know a little bit about his flick. I'm not good with him but i could turn matches that seemed lost in seconds.
Pig is kinda underrated, but that's maybe me always having bad RNG against her lol. Anyway she can drag matches.
Legion is very popular right now and i've seen some strong ones. They're not very deadly but annoying, if survivors don't have enough patience and stamina they will lose.
Wraith can give good results if played with good add ons and hit&run-technique, but good survivors just heal up fast and loop you to death, because at some point you have to get your hooks and commit to chases.
Trapper can be a nightmare on some maps and i've met some very good ones since hitting red ranks, but if he has a bad start it's kinda game over. You have to be very good in this game in general, if you want to be a good Trapper (also true for every other low tier M1 killer).
I kinda regret spending so much BP on Demoboy. I love the character but i just can't get to terms with him. I'm used to stealth killers and now everyone hears what i'm doing. His portals are meh. Also his shred only works for zoning, the situations where you can actually use it to down someone are spare. You can say that's me not being good with him and that's true, but i haven't seen any good Demo since ages.
if there are good legions doesn't mean that legion is strong as myers. Survivor spread out and legion is only m1. Excpecially in big maps that are the most common.
