I feel like huntress hitboxes aren't the worst thing ever.

It really is just bad killer ping that makes those super questionable hits possible

I mean the hatchets be a bit too wide consistently, good connection or not.

I might sound dumb but, other than not being able to play on the new map, what issues are people talking about? My game's been just fine.

    Lot of people are experiencing...

•Gens not being able to be worked on

    •Pallets disappearing only visually

    •Constant FPS drop

•Terrible lag even with good connection

•Killer gets a DC forcing survivors to restart app

•Consistent DC when touching a gen around 80%

Few others as well. Just the most constant ones.

If you're fine with a few months pushback. While I'd be fine with it, I'm not entirely sure how well received that would go down for all parties involved.

Hey don't give us a release date then😂

I think his lunge is a bit overtuned personally. Been running BBQ, Corrupt, pop and starstruck on him with all seeing / clapper and yeah.....matches don't tend to last very long. I can genuinely see why people don't like him when he's combined with exposed perks considering how easy landing the first hit is.

When I play him it doesn't even feel that rewarding either. No skill is involved, in fact all it comes down to is where the survivors are when you uncloak

    hag is boring af-

a better example would be myers billy or doctor.

Myers, Billy, and Doctor can be annoying, but they are somewhat different. Billy still different from Leatherface despite the same gimmick.

Problem is Legion and Wraith just move fast with no requirement to do so. Blight needs to bounce, Billy needs to rev...the other two just go fast when ever they want.

Shelter Woods sort of doubles as a "Cabin in the woods" setting which fits a lot of movies

I was mean that map sucks though😂. I was thinking a smaller cabin that isn't so big. Plus EVIL DEAD is the start of the cabin in the woods cliché, it is the most iconic cabin by far.

If they fix Redwood they better fix that cabin.

It's entirely possible that they are trying to perform optimizations at a rushed pace. PTB showed them that the RPD/Nemesis was causing a lot of crashing with the expanded User testing, and so now have had to bum-rush into optimization.

So if they weren't ready...why and why not delay the dlc. People be upset sure, but they can just say...

You want to play in this mess?

Exactly. I feel like they're doing it on purpose at this point.

Why would they put ads on YouTube saying Play the new dlc and buy the game.

Then they come try and play in this mess...

  • @miketheratguy said:

Well, the game is free to play on the PC in the sense that no proprietary internet service is required. On the Switch, for example, you have to pay Nintendo like 20 bucks a year to be able to take any of their games online.

I don't know what most people consider to mean "free to play" but I think that, in general, it means "free to play online after the initial purchase". That's what I always assumed the term to mean, anyway. I could very well be wrong.

Free to Play is a slang term used form games made free to charge you loads of money with in game content. Like a Paywall. Mobile games are very famous for this tactic and console/pc games can be assoc with free to play.

If DBD was a free game and only allowed 5 matches a day and charged you if you wanted more matches.

It also be free to play if perks were only available through DLC and had only one or two killers when purchasing a game.

FREE TO PLAY just means it is free till you play. It wants to force you to spend mone you the game now that you downloaded for free. It's a trap.

I love Legion, hes fast paced. I feel like a coked out metal head runnimg around stabbing everyone 50 times. Its fun, hes weak sure but hes also underrated.

Myers is a lot of fun in lower ranks, hes awful to play in reds. If i see the game throwing me a lot of purples and greens ill play as him.

Am I the only who plays Michael and Blight in Red Ranks? Seems like we got no killer variety anymore

  • @Laluzi said:

"When you play Wraith you are missing out on actual fun killers and just are running fast, then you whack."

Speak for yourself, playing Wraith is fun as hell. The speed around the map feels so good and you don't waste time searching for hiding survivors - not because of All-Seeing, I don't run addons on him anymore, but because people don't have enough forewarning to sneak away.

I'll still commit to ordinary chases most of the time, but having to drop a chase doesn't feel punishing on him like many other killers because Wraith is so mobile.

I agree he's a pretty unfun killer to play against in his current state, but that doesn't go both ways.

If you have fun man, I'M GLAD. Appreciate someone is enjoying. Just i don't get the fun in his kit. Then again I don't like that Legion and Wraith style of leaving chases, especially when the game use to punish your score for that. Play with your Food is never ran either of them, but it be really good.

Being Lighting McQueen is fun, just not the whole I uncloak and whack and repeat. Especially when people cloak after hitting someone mid chase is just apparent they are relying on Whirlwind.

  • @miketheratguy said:

This won't surprise anyone who's paid attention to my posts but I can't stand the Wraith anymore. Playing against him isn't even the slightest bit fun. It's just guesswork, running, and free hits. I'm over it.

Well most of time I can be by a pallet or tile to not get hit. Just when someone uses all the pallets or you get open map, he gets some free bops. Not to mention Wraiths tend to not finish chase to go down the guy that just got unhook.

    Blight is Best Boi

Oh my God self care discussion in 2021?let ppl use what they want

Hey man I just don't see why use it when you can use plenty of better things for healing. You use it or something? It's fine if you do. Just It's a perk used wrong all the time.

  • @Goofenstein said:

Corrupt is fine, if anything. Survivors can just wait the 2 minutes out, or move to the other side of the map and do gens.

    It's no Ruin, it's a nice perk.

Maybe we make a perk so survivors can clear things that entity blocks. Once per trial thing. So if you use corrupt I can tell you to hey, not cool and I waste a perk, plus you would know where I would be.

  • @WexlerWendigo said:

Sadly for Wraith, he’s joining Spirit and Legion as the least enjoyable killers in the game.

Legion is the same issue. Spirit is just guessing. Going zoom and a easy hit isn't really a fun match to play. I think Deathslinger as well fits the boring mold.

To say he is challenging or fun is hard for me to even see. Just me though

  • @MrPenguin said:

"Bond is a great to get healed by teammates"

See that's what you would expect, but I've had so many teammates just refuse to heal me even though I'm right next to them and they're not doing anything productive. Too many potatoes to bring a perk to rely on them healing you.

That Claudette was just a potato, as others have said the perk itself is fine if not on the more efficient side when used correctly.

I just don't know why bringing a medkit isn't more common. Like too many self cares compared to people who just bring medkits. Fine perk and anyone can use it, just soooo many better options.

  • @DemonDaddy said:

Wraith doesn't get free hits, bad Survivor awareness gets punished. Hit and run is a very engaging tactic as your not assured the killer will stay occupied in chase. Boring is trapper chasing you and no traps are set.

Trapper has a thing. Traps and he is a bad killer so it isn't his fault where he is rn. Wraith isn't bad and when I say he gets free hits...he does, there are maps where pallets are too far spaced and he gets free hit with whirlwind. It's a boring mechanic. It's just moves faster for a few seconds. There isn't any skill and you bad survivor awareness is the only way he gets free hits is very ignorant.

If you play survivor, you don't get unlimited pallets and you can get screwed by RNG. To say only bad survivors get caught in a dead zone isn't changing my mindset of him being boring. He isn't even broken or unfair. Just boring. It's a free hit at times when you don't have anything nearby. Especially with some of the BEST add ons a killer can have

  • @CapricornZeus3 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2275363#Comment_2275363

I guess, but that's just more complicated than what we have now, lol

We have a killer like nemesis. I had to explain how he works so many time. Complicated is doable.

  • @GentlemanFridge said:

Some of you are suggesting an opening animation. I don't think this alone fixes the problem of keys, it just makes it so that survivors can't jump out right in your face anymore.

What about the cases where you have no idea where the hatch is? What about when you're chasing 1 survivor, and 2 get out because you couldn't protect the hatch? Adding a 10 sec animation won't stop them.

I strongly believe the Franklin's nerf was unwarranted. According to Mandy, the Franklin's nerf was due to Nemesis' schtick involving an item unique to him. This item could be permanently destroyed because of Franklin's. But then, why wasn't the vaccine made immune to Franklin's destruction? There is clearly a unique rarity applied to the vaccine, why not make that rarity indestructible? Or maybe make 'em return to the box they were found in when destroyed?

Why change an entire perk just, which decidedly is the only actual counter to keys, just for a single tiny aspect of 1 killer? Why render brown and green medkits utterly useless when up against Franklin's? I just don't get this.

I like the animation, but keys need more than just that. Fixing at when hatch Spawns could be the best option I seen in the comments.

I prefer this Franklin's tbh. I thought destroying items was just too meta. Franklins is now a more balanced perk. The problem is they didn't care to fix keys when doing this so they make Keys more unbearable.

  • @HaunterofShadows said:

well franklins isn't going to help you anymore

The fact I would need A PERK to counter an item in the game shows how dumb the item is...Lightborn doesn't count as you can just stare at a wall or bait flashlight saves. Keys don't got another counter😂.

    Keys are so stupid.

Again, the analogy is only with respect to mechanics.

Plus, the RNG of finding the hatch is not dissimilar to the RNG of finding a totem, not to mention that hatches need keys to harness their full power.

NOED doesn't end the game instantly though. You can prevent it from even happening.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2277177#Comment_2277177

Exactly. Sorry to say, but this is a bit too OP, though I think its a neat idea.

The work in progress part is me finding out how information can be given to survivors so they can handle the situation.

So consistent spawns, like you probably will encounter inactive Chica first, he wouldn't be able to just switch back and forth super fast. It as well slow the killer down, similar to Freddy. AI part is added in because of the zombies for RE and you preventing the situation to occur is adding more time so gen rushing doesn't happen.

Definitely can be worked out, but it's just an interesting killer idea I want to try and think out.

Ive said this before and Ill say it again, I didnt mind a FNaF chapter at first. But at some point it was just getting annoying and now I dont want it out of spite

I don't care for it, but I'm bored rn and dbd be unplayable with lag rn. So let me burn my time😂. I have other stupid time burners if you want to look at those.

I think it's silly to have robot animals chase people, but we do have a obese clown and a Kpop serial killer. So not insane right.

  • @UncleStabby said:

Too many bodies. Too much map control. I dont even wanna think about this Killer on an indoor map.

  • @ShamelessPigMain said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2275837#Comment_2275837

The point of the NOED analogy is that they're both kind of last resorts that give you a burst of power in your time of need. That's really it. They both feel kind of "cheap" and unearned.

NOED needs a totem and also as well can still be countered. If some has a key and find hatch...OVER

  • @ShamelessPigMain said:

    Probably indirectly, by changing hatch.

The fundamental premise of the hatch is the same as the much-maligned NOED. It gives you a little boost in the endgame for games that didn't go so well. That needs to be examined and redesigned entirely, such that it'll get rid of the desire to slug for the 4k and indirectly nerf keys.

Problem is NOED is a negative mindset to want to use...it is picking a perk thinking you will not do your job. NOED isn't a problem on most maps, but totem spawns can be a pain.

Keys aren't an endgame issue. They are an issue present mid match as well. 3 survivors alive with 1 gen left, or 2 survivors with 2 gens left. They can be used anytime when the hatch spawns. They are a freebie win if one person brings it. It's so often for certain types of players to use it when they care only to survive and not play the game.

Keys can also effect endgame more than NOED, as they can work like this...

I close hatch and your last alive, but you remember some claud left a dang purple key at basement. She figure I bring Franklin's so why she left it there. Now the hatch is closed and I am watch the doors you can just hop in the hatch.

  • @agonizing said:

I would not say he “gets a free hit” usually players who are unaware sitting on a gen or choose to be in an unsafe area of a map tend to see this as a problem.

Instead of blaming Wraith for poor map design, try to stay in an area where you are close to a pallet or a vault. Solved my problems playing against him so far.

You acting like you never are in a dead zone or someone wasted a pallet in ur area before hasn't happen to you. Open fields is so easy. He is lame and you not addressing his boring game play is proving me right.

    NOT BROKE OR UNFAIR...JUST BORING

  • @Awkward_Fiend said:

Even though I'm your average Blight Enjoyer, I'm also an Average Wraith Fan. Being able to completely shred through pallets with Shadow Dance and then close the distance and create a 50/50 scenario is just an enjoyable time. It's much less taxing than playing Blight, even though he is also far less powerful as a result. A better question would be why do people enjoy Legion or Michael, who are far more basic killers than Wraith, who has the potential for insane plays with his boost, same with pig.

Pig is fine, Michael has a thing and it's fun when he goes silent and gets a grab even. Michael takes skill at least. Legion is boring as he suffers from the exact same issue

Wraith might be fun to you, but he isn't more fun than any other killer.

  • @CapricornZeus3 said:

It's still a pretty bull sh*t addon tbh, especially with the absolute bonkers hatchet hit boxes. It's better now that you cant semi spam them but I'd rather just have them removed honestly.

Pinky finger is in this category as well.

I'd rather just move along to the next match asap when someone uses these addons.

Pinky Finger makes clown playable tho😂. As Clown is one of my most played killers, he is bad, while huntress doesn't need much to be good, just maps can limit her. Clown still needs the fat hit after throwing the bottle on ya.

  • @Massquwatt said:

Current iri head is in a pretty good spot I'd say. You only get one before you reload and I feel that's pretty fair. High risk for high reward. The problem with making it into a range requirement is that good huntresses can still get multiple downs pretty easy with it, especially on open maps like the cornfield.

Good huntress players won't miss the close shots and the shot requirement just make it similar to another killer add on and not make hers and outlier that can upset a mass amount of players. I don't care for irri head, but it is complained a lot about people so I think it be better if we made range the focus.

If the huntress wants the one shot she needs to give up range. Plus making her having info perks even more awesome. Imagine the clips or clutch throws from a good amount of ways. Instead of a run up to the survivor until they vault or throw a pallet.

  • @Altarf said:

I went against an iri head Huntress the other day and actually had one of the most fun matches of DBD I've had an a while. A little unrelated, but you wouldn't get that with a Iri coin copy and paste.

Plus, it would only be useful on certain maps at exceptional levels of skill, which I don't think is fun add-on design.

Tbf huntress already gets a fat nerf with indoor maps so the range requirement doesn't change the challenge she has.

  • @Alphasoul05 said:

Well, the condition for Mori's are that they can only be used when it's irrelevant and the survivor is death hook. Stands to reason, then, that a key should not be able to be used unless all of the gens are completed, or if the current remaining survivors are all death hook. Something along those lines, but you can do a lot of things, really. Just surprised they've done... nothing. Just more talk talk talk about something that takes a year to implement.

I agree, just when you say irrelevant...survivor mains hear TOXIC and unfair. Like the devs said Moris were toxic on the stream and I was laughing.

  • @MrsGhostface said:

There is only so much you can do when there is a trophy for all 4 survivors to escape through the hatch. Personally I would add an opening animation.

I like the animation idea people suggest. Maybe one that should be added no matter what else they do with the keys.

  • You might be the only piggy main with this negative attitude. You seem tone deaf to the problem that keys have. Maybe your just a survivor main.

  • @Pulsar said:

  • @Sluzzy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2270274#Comment_2270274

Killers already have endgame advantages. It's way too common a Hag wins with nesting on 3 gens. You can't say it's always fun.

I've been the victim and it feels bad when 2 teammates leave you high and dry and killer has an ez kill with EGC. That could be fixed if EGC didn't start because killer kicked the hatch. It's an unfair advantage.

Aren't you always the victim Sluzzy

  • @Sadsnacks said:

Then as killer you have to worry about a key in every match. No one will want to play killer and the killer's that remain will play scummier than ever.

I'd say any solution would involve removing the chance of a key spawning in chests.

IDC if a survivor brings one in the lobby because then at least I know what to expect and can manage the situation. Having keys spawn in chests just adds more pressure on the killer without any extra reward for playing well.

There's been plenty of times (I think chests were bugged for a while) where I've been patrolling a 3 gen as killer with at least one survivor dead and some of those left alive on their last hook and then come to realize too late that they've abandoned the gens to go find a key in a chest. There's almost a 100% chance they'll find one too, they don't even need to have any luck offerings or perks to increase the odds. I played 100% optimally without camping, slugging, or tunneling anyone which is extremely hard to do at higher ranks but I enjoy playing that way. My reward was RNG giving 2-3 survivors a free escape. What was I supposed to do? Search for every chest location and risk giving them enough time to finish the last gen? Look for the hatch and try and guard that on top of keeping pressure on the generators?

If every match resulted in that scenario NO ONE will want to play killer. The only people left playing killer will hardcore tunnel people, face camp, slug, and probably even leave survivors on the ground because they have to in order to juggle everything else going on.

Have fun with your 20-30 minute survivor queue times for a brutal sweatfest. That's what spawning keys in chests as a mechanic would do. It's bad enough that it's already there as RNG.

    No thanks.

If you bring it into a match it's guarntee...the key out of chests is a chance. It's more fair if it was random chance instead of one of them bringing a key

  • Only if we had hatch snags like the good ole days

  • @Chilli_man2400 said:

What else do you want? Do you want another skillcheck mechanic that will take a year to make or implement this and nerf keys easier

    Skill checks on keys...

Just funny to imagine the add a animation of trying to unlock the thing and it doesn't really change the problem of what the keys do ya know.

Be cute to give hatch an open animation though.

  • @Sluzzy said:

    What's wrong with keys?

Statistically it's been said they have a very small success rate. Tiny.

A lot of effort to make them work. Must live, do enough objectives and actually find hatch.

I hardly used keys because it's rare for the hatch to spawn in a typical match and you spend so much time looking for it you can do a gen. Keys are not as common as killer mains make it out to be.

Keys don't need to be in the game then...

When used it's rewarding the survivors for messing up. It's a I WIN move and there is no counter.
